WHILE IN MOTION MAKING A THREE POINT TURN TO TURN AROUND, THE ENGINE SPEED (RPM) INCREASED CAUSING TRUCK TO ACCELERATE FORWARD. SERVICE BRAKES DID NOT STOP THE TRUCK. I PUT THE TRUCK TRANSMISSION INTO NEUTRAL WHILE DEPRESSING THE SERVICE BRAKE PEDAL, THE TRUCK STOPPED AND I SHUTOFF THE ENGINE AND RESTARTED. THIS ISSUE HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 6 TIMES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN INTERNAL ELECTRICAL FAILURE CONCERNING THE FUSE BOX LOCATED ABOVE THE RADIATOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AN ELECTRICAL SHORT WAS RANDOMLY OCCURRING AND PROGRESSED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED BY A DEALER. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUSE BOX NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.
TRUCK STALLED AND LOST TRANSMISSION POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF BUSY HIGHWAY. WAITED 20MIN ON SHOULDER AND TRUCK STARTED AND RAN FINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED PERIODICALLY OVER THE LAST YEAR WITH NO ERROR CODES FOUND DURING DIAGNOSTICS RELATED. NOW HAPPING MORE FREQUENT AND YESTERDAY THE TRUCK STALLED AGAIN AND NOW WILL NOT START. RESEARCHED AND FOUND A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ABOUT FORD PCM/TCM FAILURES WHICH DESCRIBED MY SYMPTOMS PERFECTLY. NEXT ISSUE IS AT 55MPH THE TRUCK TRIED TO GO INTO 4-LOW, WHICH SHUT THE TRUCK DOWN ON THE HIGH WAY AND ALMOST WENT OFF THE ROAD. ERROR CODE FOUND DURING DIAGNOSTICS WAS THE "COMMUNICATION TO TRANSFER CASE SHIFT MOTOR"
ABS MODULE DEFECTIVE IN THE TRUCK, POWER STEERING GOING OUT. RPM MODOLE NOT WORKING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT ABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE FOR APPROXIMATELY 30 MINUTES. THE CONTACT REFERENCED TSB NUMBER: 15-0137 (CRANK NO-START, STALLING) AS A POSSIBLE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER (MOSSY FORD, 858-273-7500) WAS CALLED AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED BY THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 125,000.

TAKATA RECALL THE BRAKE LIGHTS IN MY DASHBOARD IS ALWAYS LIT UP ALSO THE STABLITY LITE IS ALWAYS ON .I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC TO HAVE IT CHECK AND WAS TOLD IS WAS A DEFECT WITH THE COMPUTER SYSTEM AND SHOULD BRING IT TO THE DEALER OR SEE IF THERE ANY RECALLS FOR THIS PROBLEM .THIS OCCURS AS SOON AS I TURN ON THE ENGINE BOTH LIGHTS IN MOTION ,STATIONARY, HIGHWAY ETC .
AT APPROXIMATELY 86000 MILES MY ABS AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. I TOOK IT TO MY CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO RAN A DIAGNOSTIC WHICH REVEALED A FAILED ABS MODULE. REPLACEMENT COST IS OVER $800.00 AND WITH OVER 233 COMPLAINTS THAT WE KNOW OF, WHEN IS YOUR ORGANIZATION GOING TO MAKE FORD ACCOUNTABLE?
PULLING UP TO MY DESTINATION, THE ACCELERATOR SUDDENLY CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO RAPIDLY SPEED-UP AND BECOME DIFFICULT TO CONTROL
HAD TO REPLACE COMPLETE DRIVE SHAFT BECAUSE OF BAD CARRIER BEARING, TWICE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, IT CRANKED BUT FAILED TO START. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO FUTURE FORD LINCOLN (650 AUTOMALL DR, ROSEVILLE, CA 95661, (888- 656-7577) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT NO RECALL WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VIN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 66,000.
WHILE TRAVELING TO WORK BRAKES WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND THEN MY ABS & BRAKE CHECK SYSTEM LIGHT CAME ON HAS NOT TURNED OFF. TRUCK IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE
THE THROTTLE STUCK ON THE TRUCK AND CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT
IN 2017 WE HAD THE TRANSMISSION REBUILT DO TO LOSS OFF POWER ON 12/23/17 WHILE DRIVING THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER THEN THUNK WHEELS WOULD BARELY MORE.CITY STREET MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN SO NOW IT'S SIT IN THE GARAGE NOT MOVING TO GET IT FIX ALMOST 1500.00 THAT I DON'T HAVE
ON DECEMBER 15, 2017, WHILE DRIVING ON I35 IN HEAVY TRAFFIC IN FORT WORTH, TEXAS, THE F150 AUTONOMOUSLY ACCELERATED TO MAXIMUM RPM AND WOULD NOT SLOW DOWN. THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS NOT ON. WE WERE FORCED TO RIDE THE BREAKS HARD UNTIL WE WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE FREEWAY, PUT THE VEHICLE IN NEUTRAL AND BREAK TO A STOP. WE TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE STILL WENT TO MAXIMUM RPMS SO WE SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE AGAIN. FIVE MINUTES LATER WE RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND THE ENGINE PERFORMED NORMALLY. WE DROVE IT IMMEDIATELY TO OUR LOCAL AUTO REPAIR SHOP. THE LOCAL AUTO REPAIR CENTER WAS NOT ABLE TO REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND THE VEHICLE SHOWS NO FAULT CODES. UPON SEARCHING THE INTERNET, WE DISCOVERED NO OPEN RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE AND WE ARE NOT THE ONLY FORD CUSTOMERS TO EXPERIENCE THIS ISSUE.
ABS & TCS WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON, WHEN DIAGNOSED IT READS A CODE B1342 FAULTY ABS CONTROL MODULE. I HAVE TRIED DESPERATELY TO FIND A REPLACEMENT ALL THE DEALERS SEEM TO HAVE THEM ON BACK ORDER WHIT NO SHIP DATE KNOWN. NONE OF THE PARTS HOUSES SELL THIS PARTICULAR MODULE IT IS A 1 YEAR PART ONLY I CALLED SEVERAL WRECKING YARDS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY AND WAS TOLD THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. I FINALLY LOCATED ONE BUT IT WASN'T EASY. HOW MANY OTHER 2009 F150 TRUCKS ARE OR WILL BE ON THE ROAD WITH FAULTY BRAKES AND ARE UNABLE TO REPAIR THEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN REVERSE, IT REVVED UP. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND EXTENDED TO THE FLOORBOARD. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO AN ENCLOSED TRAILER ON JULY 5, 2017. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NOVEMBER 24, 2017 AND THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A WALL. THERE WERE NO INJURIES AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TOWED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 133,000.
SUDDEN COMPLETE BREAK FAILURE. WITHOUT ANY PREVIOUS BREAKING PROBLEM OR INDICATION OF BREAKING SYSTEM PROBLEM THE BREAKING SYSTEM COMPLETELY FAILED UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS DECELERATING WITH NO PRESSURE ON THE GAS PEDAL. I WAS A FEW HUNDRED YARDS FROM A RED LIGHT AND ATTEMPTED TO APPLY GENTLE BRAKE PRESSURE, THE BREAK PEDAL GAVE NO RESISTANCE, EASILY PUSHED TO THE FLOOR WITH NO BREAKING CAPACITY WHATSOEVER. THE BREAK TROUBLE LIGHT CAME ON AT THE SAME INSTANT FAILURE OCCURRED. RELEASING AND REAPPLYING THE BREAKS HAD NO EFFECT, ONLY DUE TO MY EARLY RESPONSE TO THE RED LIGHT ALLOWED ME ENOUGH TIME AND DISTANCE TO USE THE COLUMN SHIFTER TO DOWNSHIFT, THUS DECELERATING WITH THE ENGINE UNTIL REACHING 1ST GEAR. AT WHICH POINT I WAS ABLE TO USE THE PARKING BREAK TO FULLY STOP THE VEHICLE.
I TURNED MY TRUCK ON AFTER IT SAT OVERNIGHT AND THE ABS AND EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH CLUSTER. TOOK THE TRUCK INTO A LOCAL PART STORE AND HAD A OBD2 READER HOOKED UP AND IT PULLED ABS CONTROL MODULE CODE. I TOOK INTO A AUTO SHOP AND THEY WERE PULL THE CODE AND DECIPHER WHAT THE ACTUAL PROBLEM WAS. THE ABS CONTROL MODULE COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING.
TAKATA RECALL......I HAVE A 2009 F-150 AND ALL 3 OF THE 4 DOOR HANDLES OPEN SOMETIMES WHEN YOU TRY OPEN THE DOOR THE 1ST TIME 1 OF THE DOOR HANDLES YOU CAN ONLY OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE THE DRIVER DOOR HAS A BURN MARK AROUND THE LACH OF THE DOOR THAT WAS NEVER THERE.......I CALLED TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL ON THAT YEAR OF MY TRUCK AND I WAS TOLD NO.....HOW CAN THAT BE? DO I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS THAT MY FAMILY CAN'T GET OUT?
MY VEHICLE SIMPLY STALLED WITHOUT WARNING WHILE I WAS TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY, TWICE. AFTER A SMALL COOL DOWN PERIOD, THE VEHICLE STARTED UP AGAIN AND SEEMED FINE TILL A FEW DAYS LATER WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON THE HIGHWAY. ACCORDING TO FORD, THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH A FUSE THAT CONTROLS THE FUEL PUMP. IT OVERHEATS AND FAILS CAUSING THE FUEL PUMP TO STOP WORKING. THEY ALSO HAVE A $20 KIT TO FIX THE PROBLEM BECAUSE IT IS SO COMMON. WHY THIS IS NOT A RECALL IS BEYOND ME. MY WIFE AND I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY HURT OR WORSE.

THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY TWO INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHO REPLACED THE #27 FUSE AND RELAY, BUT WERE UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT ALSO REPLACED THE BATTERY AND FUEL MODULE IN THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND TRANSFERRED THE CONTACT DIRECTLY TO THE NHTSA HOTLINE TO CHECK FOR RECALLS AND TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 71,000.
2009 FORD F150 WITH 146,000 MILES NEEDED TO HAVE ENGINE REPLACED DUE TO SCORED CAMS. IT APPEARS THIS HAS BEEN A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE 5.4 ENGINES. WE ARE ONE-TIME OWNERS OF THIS VEHICLE AND HAVE GREAT MAINTENANCE RECORDS. I BELIEVE A RECALL SHOULD BE MADE FOR THIS
AT LESS THAN 63,000 MILES, MY FORD F-150 5.4 LITER ENGINE IS FAILING. I JUST RETURNED FROM THE DEALERSHIP EARLIER TODAY WITH OVER $2800 WORTH OF REPAIR ESTIMATES; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND RATTLED WHEN IDLING AT A STOP LIGHT AND APPEARED TO BE OVERHEATING. VEHICLE IS GARAGE KEPT, GETS REGULAR OIL CHANGES AND MAINTENANCE, AND IS DRIVEN MAINLY ON HIGHWAYS. I DO NOT PULL ANYTHING (BOATS, CAMPERS, ETC.). INTERNET FORUMS ARE LOADED WITH COMPLAINS ABOUT THIS ENGINE AND ALL SURROUND THE CAM PHASERS AND LOCAL ENGINE PARTS FAILING. FORD HAS NO RECALL AND WILL DO NOTHING! I HAVE A CASE IN THEIR SYSTEM AS OF THIS EVENING AND WOULD LIKE THE GOVERNMENT TO START ISSUING GUIDANCE TO CONSUMERS AND GET A RECALL PROCESS UNDERWAY. ISSUE WAS FIRST NOTICED WHEN I TRIED TO START THE TRUCK ONE NIGHT IN MID-JUNE. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO GET AN APPOINTMENT IN MID-JULY TO GET THIS DIAGNOSIS.
THE RIGHT FRONT FLEXIBLE BRAKE LINE DETERIORATED AT THE CRIMPED FITTING. THE DETERIORATION IS ON THE INSIDE OF THE LINE AT THE CRIMP. THE DETERIORATION ACTS LIKE A CHECK VALVE ALLOWING THE APPLICATION OF THE BRAKE BUT NOT RELEASE OF BRAKING PRESSURE. I HAVE VERIFIED THIS ON THREE (3) REPLACEMENTS. THE ORIGINAL LINE WAS REPLACED AT ABOUT 120K AND NON OEM AT ABOUT 20K.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE EMERGENCY PARKING BRAKE, ABS, AND ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLD 2009 FORD F150 5.4 TRITON V8. I HAVE NOW CRACKED THE SECOND RIGHT SIDE ENGINE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THIS IS IRRITATING AS EXHAUST FUMES ENTER THE PASSENGER CAB WHEN STOPPED.
SPARK PLUG BLOWS OUT OF HEADS AT 80774 MILES PRIOR TO FIRST TUNE UP INTERVAL. COULD OF CAUSED A ENGINE FIRE.

I HAVE TAKEN IT TO SEVERAL BUT THE ONLY THING THEY TELL I NEED A NEW ENGINE ,. WHICH WE CANNOT AFFORD, WE GOT IT SERVICED ON TIME AND TOOK CARE OF IT THINKING WE WOULD HAVE IT FOR MANY YEARS. NOW IT IS GARBAGE I HAVE ALWAYS DEFENDED FORD BUT NOW AM SO UPSET DON'T KNOW WHAT WE WILL DO .

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS PLACED IN REVERSE, IT ACCELERATED BACKWARDS AND CRASHED INTO A NEIGHBOR'S RESIDENCE WITHOUT WARNING. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT INJURED, BUT WAS SHAKEN UP AND TRANSPORTED TO THE EMERGENCY CENTER BY THE PARAMEDIC. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND WAS TOWED TO A TOW YARD. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200,000.

LETTER REGARDING AN ORIGINAL COMPLAINT TO NHTSA IN 2016 THAT HAS YET TO BE RESOLVED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE REAR DOORS COULD NOT BE UNLOCKED FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. *JS *JS
AS I WAS BACKING THE TRUCK INTO THE GARAGE, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE BECAUSE MY DRIVEWAY HAS AN DECLINE, THE TRUCK TOOK OFF. IN OTHER WORDS UNINTENDED ACCERLATION. THE ENGINE RPMS WENT VERY HIGH AND THE TRUCK WENT VERY FAST IN REVERSE HITTING MY GARAGE WALL AND MY FATHER WHO UNFORTUNATELY WAS IN THE WAY. ONCE THE TRUCK TOOK OFF I DESPERATELY TRIED PUSHING ON THE BRAKES AND SLAMMING THE TRUCK INTO PARK BUT THE TRUCK DIDN'T STOP UNTIL IT HIT THE GARAGE WALL. MY FATHER SUFFERED A BROKEN LEG BUT WAS INCHES AWAY FROM BEING KILLED. THE TIRE TRACKS ON THE GARAGE FLOOR SHOWED DRAG MARKS AS IF THE FRONT WHEELS HAD LOCKED UP AS THE BACK WHEELS SPED UP. THIS WAS A HORRIFYING EXPERIENCE AND NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO WHY FORD VEHICLES ARE DOING THIS. THERE IS NO WAY MY FOOT WAS ON THE ACCELERATION, ALTHOUGH THIS IS WHAT THE MANUFACTURE IS GOING TO CLAIM.
AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, I ACCELERATED RAPIDLY AND LET OFF THE GAS PEDAL ONCE I REACHED THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT...THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN !! I HAD TO STOMP ON THE BRAKES TO SLOW THE TRUCK DOWN, THREW IT IN NEUTRAL AND ROLLED TO A SCARY STOP. THE TRUCK CONTINUED TO REV TO 4000 RPM'S WHILE IN NEUTRAL. MY WIFE JUMPED OUT OF TRUCK WHILE WE WERE AT A RED LIGHT. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS IN FRONT OF TRUCK. WHILE TRUCK WAS REVVING IN NEUTRAL ON ITS OWN, I TRIED STOMPING ON GAS PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES TO TRY TO STOP IT FROM REVVING TO NO AVAIL. I FINALLY TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AND RESTARTED IT A FEW MINUTES LATER, THE TRUCK IDLED NORMAL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED FOR THE ANTI-THEFT LOCK. IN ADDITION, VARIOUS NEEDLES FLUCTUATED FOR THE GAUGES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.
WHEN OPENING THE LEFT REAR DOOR FROM INSIDE WHILE IT IS STATIONARY, THE HANDLE DOES NOT RETURN TO THE STOWED POSITION AFTER OPENING THE DOOR UNLESS IT IS PUSHED MANUALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALER TO INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE IN ADDITION TO ANOTHER UNRELATED ISSUE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED THAT THIS ISSUE SEEMS TO BE EXACTLY WHAT WAS MENTIONED IN A RECALL I FOUND INVOLVING THIS MODEL/YEAR VEHICLE (RECALL NUMBER 11V04900, RECALL DATE 02/01/2011). THE DEALER STATED THAT THIS VEHICLE DID NOT HAVE ANY OPEN RECALLS, BUT WOULD INSPECT THE IT ANYWAY. THE DEALER DID VERIFY THE CONDITION AND PROVIDED AN ESTIMATE TO REPAIR IT. THE ESTIMATE TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE/DAMAGED COMPONENTS WAS HIGHER THAN THE I WAS WILLING TO PAY, SO THE REPAIR WAS DECLINED. *TR
WHILE TRYING TO EXIT THE VEHICLE AFTER PARKING, THE FRONT DRIVER DOOR WOULD NOT UNLOCK OR OPEN. THE LOCK KNOB AND INSIDE HANDLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THE OUTSIDE HANDLE WOULD NOT OPEN THE DOOR EITHER. THE DRIVER HAD TO CLIMB OVER THE CENTER CONSOLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE PASSENGER DOOR. THE VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY DETERMINED THAT THE DOOR LATCH WAS SEIZED. AFTER REPLACING THE DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY, THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE AND A CABLE, THE DOOR NOW FUNCTIONS PROPERLY.
SPARK PLUGS CAN NOT BE REMOVED DUE TO MOST BREAKING. MOST OF THE SPARK PLUGS ARE FROZEN AND BREAK WHEN YOU TRY TO REMOVE. FORD RECOMMENDS REPLACING PLUGS AT 100000 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS AN EXHAUST LEAK AND FRACTURED BOLTS IN THE MANIFOLD. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR FURTHER DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE CAM, TIMING SENSORS, AND GEARS FAILED AND THE ENGINE WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED 24 HOURS AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 125,136.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND IT ROLLED BACKWARDS AFTER REMOVING THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH AND EXITING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE KEY WAS REMOVED FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH WHILE THE GEAR WAS IN REVERSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILLAGE WAS AT 95,000.
VEHICLE ONLY HAS 4,000 MILES. COMPLETE FUEL LINE FAILED ACCORDING TO DEALER AND WAS DRIPPING GASOLINE ON EXHAUST FROM ENGINE TO TANK. IT WAS SMOLDERING AND ALMOST IGNITED OVER THE WEEKEND. FIRST NOTICED STRONG GASOLINE SMELL IN CAB. INSPECTION STATION NOTICED LEAK AND WAS TOWED TO DEALER. THEY ARE SPECIAL ORDERING PARTS. ON NOW 4 OCCASIONS, I HAVE HAD AN ACCELERATOR STUCK IN WIDE OPEN CONDITION. ON 3 OF THEM, IT INVOLVED PASSING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, AND ON THE LATEST (10/22/16), IT HAPPENED ON A HARD ACCELERATION IN CITY CONDITIONS WHILE ACCELERATING FROM SLOW TO FASTER SPEED. IN EACH EVENT, PRESSING ON THE BRAKE DID HOLD BACK SPEED, BUT FULL ACCELERATION RESUMED IF BRAKE WAS RELEASED AT ALL. VERY LUCKY TO HAVE AVOIDED ACCIDENT / DEATH!
2009 FORD F-150 STALLING AND NOT STARTING. THIS WAS DUE TO AN IMPROPERLY LOCATED 20-AMP FUSE EXPOSED TO EXCESS HEAT. THE FUSE NEEDS TO RELOCATED OR THE PROBLEM WILL CONTINUE. THE TRUCK STOPPED WORKING SUDDENLY IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT.
ACCELERATOR PEDAL STICKS, THERE IS NO RHYME OR REASON FOR THIS PROBLEM. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON A FEW DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AT DIFFERENT DRIVING SPEEDS. LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED MY TWO CHILDREN WERE IN THE TRUCK AS THE TRUCK ACCELERATED TOWARD STOPPED TRAFFIC. THANKFULLY THE ACCELERATOR LET LOOSE BEFORE WE CRASHED INTO OTHER VEHICLES.
MICHELIN HAD A SAFETY RECALL FOR DOT B99Y 56EX 3812-2113 OF ITS LTX M/S P275/55R20 111T FOR "AFFECTED TIRES COULD HAVE PARTIAL OR FULL SIDEWALL PERFORATIONS THAT COULD CAUSE THEM TO EXPERIENCE LOSS OF AIR PRESSURE ' I PURCHASED THE LTX M/S P275/55R20 DOT B79Y 56EX 1913 MADE IN THE SAME TIME FRAME FOR MY 2009 FORD F-150 ON 06/08/2013. ON AUGUST 23, 2016, WHILE ON A 70MPH HIGHWAY, I SUFFERED A BLOWOUT. THE ENTIRE ANTERIOR SIDEWALL WAS AFFECTED WITH MANY CHUNKS OF THE TIRE MISSING, WHILE THE INTERIOR SIDEWALL WAS TOTALLY UNAFFECTED. I AM CAREFUL WITH MY TIRE PRESSURES AND ROTATION. NONE OF THE TIRES SHOW UNEVEN OR ODD WEAR. I DON'T BELIEVE I RAN OVER ANYTHING. I HAVE ALL FOUR TIRES IN MY POSSESSION AND AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. I THINK MICHELIN HAS A GREATER PROBLEM THAN THE DOT RANGE OF THEIR VOLUNTARY RECALL. I THINK THE DOT NEEDS TO BE AWARE OF THIS SO THAT IF THIS PROVES TO BE A MORE WIDESPREAD PROBLEM, MICHELIN CAN BE REQUIRED TO RECALL ALL AFFECTED TIRES.
FIRST THE RIGHT REAR DOOR SHOWS THAT THE DOOR IS AJAR SO THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAYS ON WHILE DRIVING FOR ABOUT TEN MILES BEFORE THEY GO OUT AND WHEN YOU STOP THE VEHICLE AND GET OUT THE LIGHTS STAY ON FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES SO IT RUNS THE BATTERY DOWN. SECOND THING IS THE DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE DON'T RETURN TO THE CLOSED POSITION IT STAYS HALF WAY OUT AND A PIECE OF PLASTIC FELL OUT OF DOOR HANDLE I CONTACTED THE FORD COMPANY ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS AND I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WERE NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT THE PROBLEMS. I MYSELF THINK THAT THESE PROBLEMS ARE A SAFETY PROBLEM AND VERY AGGRAVATING
SPARK PLUG EJECTION. ON 4/24/16, #3 CYLINDER EJECTED THE SPARK PLUG, RECOMMENDED REPAIR WAS TO USE/INSTALL HELI-COIL. 7/1/16, #3 CYLINDER EJECTED THE SPARK PLUG AGAIN, THIS TIME DAMAGING THE CYLINDER HEAD. NOW WAITING FOR AN ESTIMATE AND TO SEE IF THE HEAD CAN BE REPAIRED OR HAS TO BE REPLACED. BOTH TIMES, VEHICLE WAS ACCELERATING FROM A STOP WHEN TRAFFIC LIGHT CHANGED FROM RED TO GREEN.
SEAT BELT MECHANISM IN THE DRIVERS SIDE, REAR DOOR FAILS TO RECOIL BACK THEREFORE, THE MAIN MECHANISM AT THE BOTTOM TWISTS AND I AM NOT ABLE TO EXTEND THE SEAT BELT SAFELY UNLESS I REOPEN THE DOOR AND UNWIND THE SEAT BELT (THIS HAPPENS BEFORE I PUT MY TRUCK IN MOTION AND SOMETIMES I DO NOT REALIZE IT IS TWISTED UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND I HAVE TO PULL OVER AND UNTWIST THE SEAT BELT).....ALSO, THIS HAS CAUSED THE RUBBER/PLASTIC PIECE ALONG THE SIDE OF THE FLOOR ON THE DRIVERS SIDE TO TEAR, EXPOSING WIRES, WHICH ARE ALSO A SAFETY ISSUE.
