I am trying to get my truck repaired under the recall noted below: Manufacturer Recall Number19S07 NHTSA Recall Number19V075 However, Ford does not have the parts to complete the repair and can give no time frame as to when they will have them. I have been without my truck for 6 weeks and counting.
3.5L EcoBoost. Exhaust manifold bolts brake or come loose. Resulting in warped exhaust manifold. Loss of power. On highway going 60 miles an hour when lost power and resulted in speed down to 30-20, and nowhere I could pull off Highway to emergency lane. Was basically stranded. Took the vehicle into Ford dealership in Roseburg Oregon July 16 2021 where they told me that it was an exhaust manifold which had been already done the year prior 2019 at a cost of $1200. This time it will cost $2500. There were no warning lights or advanced notice of any problem. We were going up an incline on interstate 5 and it was like somebody turned the key off Lost power and overheated.
Hot air only out of driver's side vents. Actuator motor problem.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the brakes would not engage when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact was also stated that the vehicle made an abnormally loud grinding sound whenever the brake pedal was depressed. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the local dealer nor an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was relating the failure to an unknown recall. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.
. The APIM Module is not working. It is available for inspection upon request. . I was told by the dealer that this electrical issue could affect other components in the vehicle. . Yes - currently the radio is not working. . Component has not been inspected other than the Ford Dealer. . No symptoms prior to the failure. Radio has been inoperable since approximately July 2021.
The truck will go from gear 6 to gear 1 and I lose all power. I've almost been in a wreck multiple times. I entered my vin and it shows no recalls on my truck but when I tried looking up what's going on with it I seen a recall regarding the exact same thing. Idk if it's because it's Canadian or why.
I first noticed a rapid chirping sound from the engine when accelerating on a hill while pulling a trailer. The pickup had about 135,000 miles on it at the time. This was usually associated with an automatic downshift due to the load and the hill in order to maintain speed. The sound increased over a period of a year. Then I started noticing the sound when starting with a cold engine. The sound would diminish after the engine warmed a bit, but it didn't really disappear. I finally took this pickup to an auto clinic (Sequim Automobile Clinic, Sequim, WA) with 153,000 miles on it. The manager, Marv, later told me that they found the driver's side exhaust manifold warped. He said the noise was coming from a gap at the rear end of the manifold. He improved the condition by tightening bolts, but he said the only way to really make it right would be to replace the exhaust manifold. I went to YouTube and found videos of others with this problem. Their suggestion was to replace the exhaust manifold with one that was superior in design and construction in order to keep from having the problem, again. They indicated that the problem was due to heat generated by the engine and turbo chargers in this 3.5 L Ecoboost Ford engine. The manager at the auto clinic said he hadn't seen the problem from others with this engine, but the others weren't putting the engine under as much load as I am. I'm pulling a trailer of about 8500 pounds. I'm pulling it over passes about 5,000 feet in elevation and in a one month period traveling about 3,100 miles. The manufacturer rates this particular pickup to pull a trailer up to 11,500 pounds. I've also watched videos of major endurance testing by Ford that indicated no problems after over 150,000 miles of operation under grueling conditions. I don't know if there is a safety issue here, but I know of no other place to report it. Certainly the exhaust manifold should be able to handle the heat generated in normal operation.
Going down the road at 55 mph, and the truck went down to first gear, wouldn't show my speed, then wouldn't come out of 3rd gear.
Whistling noise from exhaust system. Inspection revealed a warped exhaust manifold.
Tried to apply the brakes and the brake pedal went to the floor without actuating the brakes. This happened suddenly and with no warning of any kind prior to the failure. I had to use the parking brake to bring the vehicle to a stop. The "BRAKE FLUID LOW" warning came on in the instrument cluster. The warning and the failure happened simultaneously, i.e. there was no indication of a problem until the braking system failed entirely. The vehicle had no braking action at all from the hydraulic brake system. Upon inspection the seals in the master cylinder appear to have failed, pulling all of the brake fluid into the brake vacuum-booster. It is my understanding that a problem identical to this one led to several accidents and a recall in the 2013-2015 F150. Clearly the issue is not limited to those model years as my truck is a 2011.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH, the temperature gauge went up to high with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road and turned the vehicle off then restart the vehicle. The contact had the vehicle towed to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed that the cooling hoses needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 112,000.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 15 MPH, the steering wheel became difficult to turn and steered to the right. The contact stated the service advancetrac warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to his residence. The contact drove another vehicle to an independent mechanic and was informed that the fuse to the battery post needed to be replaced. The contact stated that he replaced the fuse to the battery post on his own. The vehicle was not diagnosed. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
On certain days, usually humid days, when you approach a hill and give it gas, a wrench appears on the display and the truck goes into Limp mode. It may go for weeks without doing this, but when it happens, you may get killed. Especially, if you are on a highway. You have no power to move the truck. You are a sitting duck. I took in to a service station and the cleaned the Throttle body, but it still happens. If you drive slowly without changing accelerator position the truck will drive but too slowly. It happens far too much.

VEHICLE'S SLAMS INTO 1ST WHILE DRIVING. THERE IS A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE, BUT DEALERSHIP SAYS FORD HAS STOPPED THEIR INITIAL FIX. APPARENTLY THEIR FIX IS NOT WORKING. NOT ABLE TO GET TIMELINE ON WHEN FORD WILL COME UP WITH A SOLUTION FOR THIS. DOES NOT SEEM SAFE TO DRIVE, BUT I NEED A VEHICLE. I CAN'T GET IT REPAIRED SO NOW I'M IN LIMBO WITH NO VEHICLE. FEEL HELPLESS.

MY TRANSMISSION IS DOWNSHIFTING ON ITS ON WHEN DRIVING HOME WITHOUT CHANGING GEARS. I HAVE TO SHUT IT OFF AND WAIT BEFORE I CAN DRIVE IT AGAIN. I WAS IN THE FLOW OF TRAFFIC WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND IT IS VERY SCARY. AND IT CONTINUES SO I'M UNABLE TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE IT'S TO DANGEROUS.
ON APRIL 3 ,2015 I WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK WHEN I WENT TO TURN LEFT I LOST ALL STEERING AND ALMOST HIT ANOTHER CAR. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE VEHICLE TO HOFFMAN FORD WHEN ON 4/5/2021 THEY DID A TEST. I WAS CONTACTED AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS DUE TO A SOFTWARE UPDATE NEEDED. I WAS CHARGED FOR THE UPDATE AND WHEN I CONTACTED FORD THEY TOLD ME SORRY THERE IS NO RECALL AND BASICALLY NOTHING WAS GOING TO BE DONE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED QUICKLY. I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR INJURED SOMEONE ELSE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN PULLING MY CAMPER. I CAN UNDERSTAND A A PART GOING BAD BUT AN UPDATE.. SO NOW WE ARE CHARGING FOR SOFTWARE UPDATES AND RISKING LIVES OF OTHERS.
FOR NO REASON BACK WINDSHIELD SHATTERED WHILE DRIVING. NO IMPACT. 800 TO REPLACE. THIS IS AWEFULL. GLASS EVERYWHERE WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR.
DRIVING HOME I STARTED TO HEAR AND FEEL THIS NOISE ON MY ENGINE LIKE A CLICKING/GROUNTING SOUND. I COULD HEAR IT MORE WHEN MAKING TURNES AND WHEN SLOWING DOWN. NEXT DAY I GOT ON MY TRUCK AND WHEN IN REVERSE MY TRUCK WOULD'T LET ME BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE THE FRONT TIRES ARE LOCKED. AND CAN ONLY GO FORWARD. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT GO IN REVERSE, TRANSMISSION SHIFT LEVER SEQUENCE STARTER INTERLOCK, AND TRANSMISSION BRAKING EFFECT. TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR (TRS) THAT WAS CALIBRATED OUT OF SPECIFICATION FOR REVERSE GEAR.
WHILE TRUCK IS RUNNING IT SUDDENLY JOLTS AN DOWNSHIFTS TO FIRST GEAR. THEN JOLTS AGAIN INTO GEAR. IT TAKES A WHILE SOMETIMES FOR IT TO GET BACK IN GEAR AND RUNNING. DOES IT RANDOMLY BUT MORE AND MORE OFTEN. MECHANIC SERVICED TRANSMISSION SAID IT WAS FINE. FEELS UNSAFE TO DRIVE
I I TOOK THIS VEHICLE TO FORD OF DALTON, GEORGIA BECAUSE THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL ON THE PCM AND TRANSMISION THAT WILL SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFT INTO 1ST GEAR WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD. CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT IT WOULD COST ME $140 DOLLARS TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM, AND IF THE PROBLEM WAS THE MOLDED LEAD FRAME IN THE TRANSMISSION THAT COMMUNICATES WITH THE OUTPUT SHAFT SENSOR, THAT IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY THE RECALL OR WARRANTY. THIS CONTRADICTS WHAT THE RECALL STATES. I SHOULDNT BE CHARGED $140 DOLLARS FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE A RECALL..THIS IS ON A 2011 FORD F-150
ADVANCE TRAC WARNING LIGHT CAME ON SCREEN AS WIFE AND 2 YOUNG CHILDREN WERE DRIVING UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS AT NIGHT. IMMEDIATELY WIFE LOST POWER STEERING AND COULD NOT AVOID A MAILBOX IN FRONT OF HOUSE . TRUCK IMMEDIATELY SHUT DOWN UPON CRASHING INTO MAILBOX AND WOULD NOT RESTART. . HOWEVER LIGHTS , CLUSTER IN DASH AND INTERIOR LIGHTS WOULD NOT SHUT OFF , WITH KEY REMOVED FROM IGNITION . WIFE OPENED DOORS . SHE INSERTED KEY INTO IGNITION WHILE TURNING SWITCHES AND KNOBS ATTEMPTING TO SHUT DOWN ACCESSORIES . NOTHING WOULD SHUT OFF . SYNC SYSTEM WAS ASKING SEVERAL UNINVITED QUESTIONS , WHILE CLUSTER WAS TURNING OFF AND ON , BLINKING , FLASHING RANDOM WARNING LIGHTS AND INDICATORS . BLINKERS WOULD NOT WORK . TOWED VEHICLE HOME . WITH KEY NOT IN IGNITION , SAME THINGS , LIGHTS WOULD NOT TURN OFF . REMOVED VEHICLE GROUND CABLE FROM BATTERY POST . PURCHASED AND INSTALLED BRAND NEW MOTORCRAFT BATTERY AND STILL HAVE SAME ISSUES . CAN NOT DRIVE TRUCK AT THIS POINT AS THIS IS A SAFETY NIGHTMARE WAITING TO HAPPEN TO UNSUSPECTING DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS . THERE WAS NO PREVIOUS WARNING OR PRE-EMPTIVE MEASURES THAT COULD HAVE PREVENTED THIS FROM OCCURRING . AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE , WE KNOW FORD IS AWARE OF IT . WE KNOW THEY WILL NOT RECALL THE RACK AND PINION STEERING THAT CAUSES THIS . PLEASE LET ME BE PERFECTLY CLEAR : WE DO NOT CARE NOR WANT TO BE PART OF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT . WE ARE FORD LOVERS AND OWNERS SINCE A 1978 PINTO . WE ONLY WANT OUR TRUCK TO BE FIXED AT NO CHARGE TO US . WE DO NOT HAVE ANY INTEREST IN EXASPERATING THIS ISSUE WITH OTHER OWNERS TO FURTHER BASH THE FORD BRAND . WE ONLY WISH TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND GET IT FIXED WITH FORD AT THE VERY LEAST GIVING US A DISCOUNT ON THE LABOR OR PARTS . IF NOT FULL REIMBURSEMENT , HALF OFF WOULD ,MAKE ME A HAPPY FORD OWNER AGAIN AND IN THE FUTURE . COVID 19 HAS LEFT US BROKE . FORD PLEASE HELP US !!!!!
HAD A RECALL ON MY 2011 F150 . I TOOK IT AND GOT IT FIX FOR THE 12C23 A/T RANGE SENSOR AND ITS STILL DOING THAT SAME THINGS , IT GOES INTO REVERSE BUT WANT IMMEDIATE ON THE DASH OF MY F150 AND THIS CONDITION INCREASES THE RICK OF A CRASH OR SOMEONE BEING HIT BECAUSE THE TRUCK ISN'T SIGNALING IT'S IN REVERSE . SO THE TIME I TOOK MY TRUCK IN TO GET THIS PROBLEM FIXED IT DIDN'T FIX THE ISSUE AND WHEN I GET IN REVERSE AND BACK OUT , I HAVE TO PUT TRUCK IN PARK AND CUT TO REST IT BECAUSE IF NOT THE TRUCK WILL NOT SHIFT GEARS . I TOOK IT BACK TO FORD AND WAS GOING TO CHARGE ME 2800.00 FOR LEAD FRAME AND CPM
I SEEN THERE IS A RECALL ON COOPER TIRES. THE COOPER TIRES I HAVE ON MY TRUCK IS NOT ON THE LIST BUT, ON 02/17/2021 ONE OF MY FRONT TIRES DID WHAT THEY CLAIM THE TIRES ON RECALL DO. I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AND MY LOW TIRE LIGHT COME ON AND INSTANTLY MY TIRE WENT FLAT AND WAS TOLD IT WAS UN-REPAIRABLE. I HAD REPLACE THAT TIRE AND ALSO I REPLACED THE OTHER SIDE SO BOTH WOULD HAVE THE SAME TRADE WEAR.
MY DEALER AND FORD HAVE REFUSED TO FIX MY VEHICLE UNDER THE ORIGINAL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM RULES FOR 19N01, AND BECAUSE OF A TECHNICALITY AND FORDS NEW EXTRA STRICT RULES, I AM BEING ASKED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. I ONLY HAVE 10 DAYS LEFT ON THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM AND THEY ARE GIVING ME THE RUN AROUND. MY VIN WAS RECALLED FOR UNINTENDED TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFT SAFETY ISSUE, WHICH HAS CAUSE ACCIDENTS AND INJURIES AS WELL AS DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE. 19N01 IS THE NHTSA NUMBER. THE ORIGINAL RECALL I RECEIVED IN THE MAIL SAID THAT THE PROGRAMMING WOULD BE REDONE FIRST (19S07) AND I DID THAT IN LATE 2019. ON FEBRUARY 8TH I EXPERIENCED AN UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFT EVENT WHILE IN MOTION, ON THE HIGHWAY, I WAS IMMEDIATELY SLOWED DOWN, 'WRENCH LIGHT' ON MY DASH, AS WELL AS ZERO SPEEDOMETER, AND WAS IN LIMP MODE. THIS IS EXACTLY THE SYMPTOMS IN THE RECALL. THANKFULLY MYSELF AND MY TRUCK WERE ON INJURED. I TOOK MY FORD F150 TO MY INDEPENDENT FORD TRUCK MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSIS, HE FOUND DTC P0722. A PDF OF HIS WORK TICKET IS ATTACHED. HE DIRECTED ME TO TAKE IT TO THE FORD DEALER IN DALLAS TO RECEIVE THE RECALL AND FREE REPAIR UNDER THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM. I TOOK MY FORD F150 INTO PLANET FORD IN DALLAS TEXAS, AND THEY SAID THAT FORD CHANGE THE REQUIREMENTS, THEY NOW REQUIRES THAT THE CODE BE PRESENT IN THE SYSTEM, BE PRINTED OUT, FOR EVIDENCE TO HAVE THE RECALL COVERED. THEY WOULD NOT ACCEPT MY MECHANICS EVIDENCE OF THE CODE. WHEN THEY CHECKED MY F150, THEY CLAIMED THE CODE WAS NO LONGER IN THE SYSTEM THEREFORE THEY COULD NOT FIX IT UNDER THE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM. I TOLD THEM MY FORD TRUCK MECHANIC SAW THE CODE, THEY ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH HIM AND HIS INDEPENDENT SHOP, AND THEY SAID IT DIDN'T MATTER, FORD CHANGED THE RULES ON THEM. TEXT AND STORY CONTINUED IN ATTACHED PDF
2 RECALLS EXIST THROUGH FORD: 19N01 AND 19S07. BOUGHT TRUCK WITH 163,760 MILES ON OCTOBER 12, 2020 WITH NO MENTION OF RECALL. RECALL NOTICE RECEIVED IN JANUARY AND VERY SHORTLY BEGAN DOWNSHIFTING TO 1ST GEAR WHILE DRIVING AT 55MPH ON A STATE HIGHWAY!!! ALMOST CAUSED WRECK. IN ORDER TO GET HOME, HAD TO DRIVE 25MPH AND SLOWER ON 55MPH ON SAME HIGHWAY. CALLED FORD DEALERSHIP AND MADE APPOINTMENT. VEHICLE HAD TO BE TOWED TO DEALERSHIP. RECALL 19S07 WAS REPAIRED. THEY DENIED AND REFUSED TO HONOR SAFETY RECALL ON 19N01. WE WERE TOLD WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY $821 AS VEHICLE WAS BEYOND 150,000 MILES. IN ORDER TO GET VEHICLE IN OPERATIONAL ORDER, IT HAD TO BE REPAIRED. THE DOWNSHIFTING IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD; THE MILEAGE SHOULD NOT EFFECT A SAFETY HAZARD ON ANY VEHICLE BECAUSE IT IS A HAZARD. DATE LISTED "WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN" IS THE DAY VEHICLE WAS PICKED UP AT DEALERSHIP.
THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR FROM FIRST GEAR. THE RPM GAUGE GOES UP BUT TRANSMISSION WON'T CHANGE GEARS. I HAVE TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY TO GET IT GOING AGAIN AND I AM NOT GETTING A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR CODE. I WILL ALSO DOWN SHIFT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY OR GET STUCK IN ONE GEAR DEPENDING ON WHAT GEAR I AM ON. IT HAS DONE IT SEVERAL TIMES ALREADY THE LAST TIME WAS ON FEBRUARY 05, 2021.
TURNED ON REAR WINDOW DEFROST AND PASSENGER SIDE GLASS OF 3 PIECE REAR WINDOW EXPLODED. NOT MOVING AT 545 IN THE MORNING AND NOBODY AROUND.
SAME AS RECALL # 19S07, DRIVING ON HIGHWAY 40-45 MPH SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTING TO 1ST CAUSING VEHICLE TO SQUEAK AND JERK THINKING I WAS IN A REAR END COLLISION,STOPPING TRAFFIC,GETTING OUT OF VEHICLE AND CONFRONTING DRIVER TO THE REAR.FORD SAID WRONG VIN AND CHARGED $150 FOR UPDATE.
AFTER TAPPING THE FLOOR ACCELERATOR THE ENGINE WENT TO FULL THROTTLE AND STAYED THERE. EVEN AFTER PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN PARK THE ENGINE REMAINED AT 7000 RPM. OUTSIDE TEMP WAS -2F. VEHICLE HAD BEEN IDLING FOR 7 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT. THE EVENT OCCURRED WHILE PULLING INTO PARK AT 10 MPH. ALMOST HIT A PARKED CAR AND BUILDING BUT WAS ABLE TO BRAKE AND PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK. AFTER RUNNING AT FULL THROTTLE IN PARK FOR AT LEAST 30 SECONDS THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. ALSO, THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDSHIELD WASH SPRAY STOPPED WORKING A FEW DAYS EARLIER.
REAR WINDOW SHATTERED AS A RESULT OF USING THE REAR WINDOW DEFROST. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY.
I WAS COMING HOME FROM WORK ON BUTLER ROAD 5 PM IT DOING 30 MPH WHEN I HEARD A BIG BANG SO I STOP THE TRUCK GOT AND LOOKED TO TO SEE WHAT CAUSED IT I SAW NOTHING THEN I LOOK UP AT THE BACK GLASS I SAW THE RIGHT REAR GLASS WAS SHATTERED IT WAS ABOUT 42 DREGS OUT SIDE I NO DEFROSTED ON EITHER
I AM SITTING AT A STOPLIGHT OR STREET SIGN MY FOOT IS ON THE BREAK ALL THE WAY DOWN AND THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT JUMPS FORWARD. THEN IT STARTED PUTTING WHEN I DROVE AND KEPT GETTING WORSE AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES FOR A GOOD MINUTE. EVERYTIME IT SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT, AND THE DEALERSHIP ONLY FOUND MINOR STUFF THAT NEEDED FIXED BUT IT WAS NONE OF THOES THAT WAS CAUSING THIS ISSUE. SO THEN I LOOKED FOR RECALLS, AND I HAD THE RECALL ON MY TRUCK DONE AND THEN MY TRUCK STARTED KNOCKING. THIS IS STILL HAPPENING AND NOBODY CAN SEEM TO FIGURE OUT WHATS GOING ON WITH THE TRUCK.
The truck constantly downshifts out of 2nd or 3rd gear into 1st gear. The speedometer is now pegged and the radio display keeps going on and off. This is a known problem and there a many complaints. This truck was produced in 2011 at the same plant as recalled trucks experiencing the same issue. When is the NHTSA going to force Ford to expand the recall. Do more fatal accidents need to happen before you force them to expand the recall. The NHTSA and Ford will be liable for damages when it is found that they new there was an issue and decided to ignore the issue causing more deaths.
So I went and got the recall done on it the one about the failing pcm and it dropping to first all of a sudden and temporarily losing control of the vehicle. Fortunatley every time this happens ive been going slow but there have been times when ill be going a good 60 something mph and it feels like ive hit a brick wall. so anyway i got the recall done and it was good fro a awhile but now its doing it again and when o called the dealership[ to find out what to do about it. They said I was sol and need to bring it in so they can find out whATS WRONG WOITH IT FEES NOT INCLUDED...
LOUD GRINDING NOISE FROM THE FLYWHEEL/STARTER. FLYWHEEL IS BAD ALREADY ON A 2011 F150
HARD TO STEER, RACK AND PINION TYPE STEERING GEARS, ELECTRIC FAILED, COMMON TYPE OF ISSUE WITH THE 2011 AND UP FORD WITH STEERING ISSUES ALL OF A SUDDEN MAKING IT EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 40 M PER HOUR THE STEERING WHEEL LOCK, COULDN'T TURN LEFT OR RIGHT VERY DANGEROUS AND RISKY , ALMOST HIT A BARRIER, 3 YEARS AGO HAD TO REPLACE RACK AND PINION, REPLACED WITH ORIGINAL , NOW DEC 2020 THE MECHANIC TOLD ME IS THE RACK AND PINION AGAIN, I SEE TOO MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS VERY SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS FAULT
TRANSMISSION IS GETTING STUCK IN 1ST GEAR. THE SPEEDOMETER IS NOT WORKING WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THE VEHICLE IS NOT SHOWING ANY MECHANICAL PROBLEM LIGHTS ON THE DASH. THE TRUCK S A SUPERCAB LARIAT LIMITED 6 SPEED 4X4, AWD. IT IS NOT SHOWING UP ON THE RECALL LIST VEHICLE HAS ALMOST 90,000 MILES
This is a follow up to compaint#11385696. Ford failed to properly check and repair the transmission problem associated with recall#19V-075. They have acknowledged that the technician did not properly service my truck when I took it to them in December 2020. ( see attached March 2023 letter). At that time the truck was under an extended warranty they issued in May 2019. The intermittent problem again caused my truck to experience another sudden downshift in early 2022. This occurred fortunately at a low speed before I drove unto an expressway. At that time, I decided to get the necessary repairs done by a third party because I no longer wanted to take a risk of the problem occurring at high speed on an expressway. In getting the repair done I also found that Ford had to modify the defective part that not only included a defective output sensor but also added a protective cover over the solenoid contacts that were susceptible to loose metal filings in the transmission fluid shorting out the solenoids. I asked Ford to reimburse my expense for my repair costs and they refused. They have basically decided to wait us out and pay for the repairs ourselves. The reprograming fix they initially did to correct the problem did not work and fact that they acknowledged that my truck was improperly serviced under the extended warranty repair shows that their only concern is financial and the safety of their customers is not.
THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT RESULTED IN TRANSMISSION HAVING A HARSH DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR CAUSING VEHICLE TO JERK AND ENGINE REVS UP. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST INCLUDING A FEW DAYS BEFORE TAKING IT IN FOR THE RECALL REPAIR IN 2019. ( RECALL 19V -075). THIS PROBLEM, ACCORDING TO FORD, IS DUE TO INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF THE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR ( PART OF THE MOLDED LEADFRAME IN THE TRANSMISSION). TWO LATEST INCIDENTS OCCURRED ON A CITY STREET. HAVE HAD AT LEAST ONE OCCASION ON AN EXPRESSWAY WHERE VEHICLE HAD VERY JERKY TRANSMISSION SHIFT WHILE IN CRUISE CONTROL. HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT THIS TO FORD AND TOOK THE VEHICLE IN ON TWO OCCASIONS ( SEE ATTACHED INVOICES). THE PROBLEM HAS NEVER BEEN RESOLVED AND NO WARNING MESSAGES OR TROUBLE CODES HAVE BEEN FOUND DURING THE REPAIRS. FORD ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY COVERAGE ( PROGRAM # 19N01) ON MAY 2019 AND MY VEHICLE STILL QUALIFIES. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN THIS WEEK TO REQUEST THEY REPLACE THE MOLDED LEADFRAME SINCE THE PROBLEM IS STILL PRESENT. THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE THE PART BECAUSE THEY SAY NO TROUBLE CODES ARE PRESENT. I HAVE FOUND OTHERS ON FORD FORUMS WHO SAY THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEY ALSO HAVE NO TROUBLE CODES STORED EITHER. FORD NEEDS TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE LACK OF TROUBLE CODES DOES NOT ENSURE THE PROBLEM IS NOT PRESENT. I CONTINUE TO HAVE CONCERNS THAT MY FAMILY'S SAFETY AND OTHERS IS JEOPARDIZED BY FORD NOT AGREEING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND MAKING THE NECESSARY REPAIRS. THEY THEMSELVES SAY IN THE RECALL NOTICE THAT "THIS CONDITION COULD RESULT IN A LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH."
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 75 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED FROM 6TH TO 1ST AND LOSS MOTIVE POWER. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AUTONATION FORD ARLINGTON (1400 INTERSTATE 20 W, ARLINGTON, TX 76017, (817) 200-4503) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH NEEDING THE LEAD FRAME TO BE REPLACED. UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 220,000.
I WAS DRIVING AND WENT TO TURN ON MY REAR DEFROSTER AND A FEW SECONDS LATER. IT SOUNDED LIKE SOMEONE SHOT MY TRUCK. I PULLED OVER AND DIDN'T SEE ANY DAMAGE TO THE BODY OF MY TRUCK BUT THEN REALIZED THAT MY REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERED
THIS VEHICLE HAS A SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSISTANCE SERVICE (EPAS) . THE STEERING MODULE SEEMS TO NOT CONTROL THE STEERING WELL, MAKING IT HARD TO TURN OR IT BEGINS TO LOCK. THE RACK AND PINNON SEEMS TO BE THE ISSUE CAUSING THIS AND CAN LEAD TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT SINCE IF GOING ON SPEEDS OF 45MPH+ THE CAR STEERING BECOMES RIGID AND DOES NOT HAVE A BALANCE BETWEEN A NUDGE TO THE LEFT OR A HARD LEFT. IT MAKES THAT HARD LEFT WITHOUT ANY WARNING.
WILE DRIVING,THE VEHICAL WILL DOWN SHIFT WITH A LOUD BANG. ON A HIGHWAY THE TRANS WILL GO BETWINE 5&6 GEAR. NOW THE IT WENT FROM 6 TO 1 GEAR , SENDING THE VEHICAL ,ALL OVER THE ROAD. THE PEOPLE AT FORD DEALERS THINK IT'S FUNNEY. I DO NOT THINK SO THEY KNOW I NEED A NEW TRANS, I DID NOT HIT KNOW ONE. THR VEHICAL IS HOME.
While I was driving home from work in my 2011 Ford F-150 on the highway. I was passing a semi when my transmission suddenly downshifted very hard locking up the wheels for a second. Which caused my truck to almost come to a complete stop in the left lane of the highway. The truck behind me almost rearended my truck and it caused my truck to jar to the right in front of the semi truck. I was able to avoid colliding with the semi truck and bring my truck to a stop on the right shoulder of the highway. Then when I tried checking to see if the truck would still move by moving the shifter through the gears. No matter what gear I put it in it would not move so I had to have it towed home where it is still sitting. I have tried to move it since then but it still will not go into any gear. I called Ford to see if my truck was part of the transmission recall and to tell them what had happened. I was told my truck was not part of the recall and there was nothing they could do. The truck still sits in the driveway while I try to save enough money to get the transmission replaced. I have had multiple safety issues with this truck the first one was that it would not move when you tried to take off. Then while on my way to work the truck shutdown on the highway and had to coast off the highway. Then it would not restart so had it towed to the dealership which told me the timing chains went bad and I needed a new motor. I put $11,000 into getting it fixed after only having it for a year. Then not even a year later the incident with the transmission happened. If either of these two issues would have happened to someone with less experience things could have turned out a lot worse which is what I want to prevent from happening. My Wife and kids would drive this truck around as well and I hate to think what could have happened had she been out alone with our children. Please look into this I know that the 3.5 liter Eco-Boost engines have had prior issues along with the 6R80 Trans.
