ON 3/19/2020 VERY STRONG FUEL SMELL COMING FROM RIGHT SIDE OF VEHICLE,VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN ON VEHICLE ALSO WOULD NOT EVEN ALLOW LIGHTS OR DASH TO WORK. VEHICLE WAS IN A PARKED POSITION
The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. The contact stated that he received a notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train) and had the software reprogrammed. Upon return of the vehicle, the contact stated that the vehicle inadvertently downshifted while driving at various speeds. The service engine warning light was illuminated on the instrument panel. The dealer and the manufacturer had been notified of the failure and informed him that the parts to repair the vehicle were on backorder. The contact stated that due to the parts not being available, the failure had worsened. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 99,000
NHTSA ACTION #EA15006, FORD COMPANY INITIATED CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 15N05. I HAD THE ELECTRIC VACUUM PUMP (EVP) REPLACED BY FOR ON 4/25/17 WITH 48,846 MI. BY 3/19 I STARTED HEARING A NOISE IN CAB DURING COLD STARTS, BUT IT TOOK A LITTLE WHILE DURING COLD STARTS IT MADE THE NOISE FOR ME FIGURE OUT IS WAS COMING FROM THE ENGINE AREA. I REALIZE IT WAS THE EVP AGAIN. NOT 2 YEARS AND WITH ABOUT 63 AND CHANGE MILES, A MECHANIC SAID IT WAS THE EVP AGAIN. I CONTACTED FORD DEALER AND THEY DENIED REPLACING THE BAD PART, SAYING I ONLY HAD 1 YEAR OR 12K TO HAVE IT REPLACED. ALL OF FORDS OTHER PARTS GET A 2 YEAR WARRANTY, EXCEPT EVP. CONTACTED FORD COMPLAINT LINE ON 4/13, THEY TOLD ME TO HAVE ISSUE VERIFIED BY A FORD MECHANIC 1ST. I DID & ON 4/17/19 GAVE THEM COMPLAINT, THEY GAVE ME COMPLAINT #. THE FORD DEALER I USED CALLED ME BACK ON 4/29/19, SAID FORD DENIED FIXING IT AS WARRANTY, BUT OFFERED TO GIVE ME $100 OF A $442 REPAIR. DEALER SAID IF I WANTED THE EVP, TO ORDER IT BECAUSE THEY WERE ON BACK ORDER, IT WOULD BE WEEKS. I CALLED COMPLAINT LINE, ASKED TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE ELSE BESIDES THE WARRANTY DEPARTMENT ABOUT SAFETY ISSUE WITH EVP, THEY GAVE ME A NEW COMPLAINT # AND SAID SOMEONE WOULD CALL ME- TOLD THEM I WANTED A SUPERVISOR, THEY SAID THEY WERE UNAVAILABLE . I NEVER HEARD FROM FORD. I CALLED FORD BACK ON 5/20/19, CALL TAKER SAID LAST COMPLAINT WASN'T PUT IN RIGHT, THAT'S WHY NO ONE CALLED. I TOLD HER I WANTED TO TALK TO A SUPERVISOR, AGAIN SAID THEY WERE UNAVAILABLE. ONE TRIED TO CALL ME AT 9:23PM ON 5/20?? THEN CALLED ME ON 5/23/19 AT 7:04PM- I ADVISED HIM THE EVP IS GONE BAD, SOUNDS WORST THE THE 1ST TIME IT WENT. HE SAID I WAS OUTSIDE WARRANTY & THEY WOULD NOT FIX IT UNDER THE WARRANTY. I ADVISED HIM THAT FORD KNEW THIS WAS AN ISSUE, BECAUSE IT IS NOT LONGER A EVP, IT'S A MECHANICAL VACUUM PUMP (MVP) NOW- IT HOOKS INTO THE MOTOR. FORD PUT EVP ON AS A BAND-AD

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO WYNN ODOM FORD (4743 WASHINGTON ST, LA GRANGE, NC 28551, (888) 452-6761) TO BE REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). THE SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE MORE ADVANCED FAILURES THAN THE RECALL REPAIR AND ADVISED HIM TO CALL THE MANUFACTURER TO GET FURTHER AUTHORIZATION TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. WHEN THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER ON MARCH 25, 2019, HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR HAD BEEN COMPLETED AND THEY COULD NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT WAS PROMISED TO SPEAK WITH A SERVICE MANAGER WHO SAID THAT THE RECALL ONLY AUTHORIZED THE REPROGRAMMING AND FURTHER AUTHORIZATION AND A CASE NUMBER WERE NEEDED TO GET THE REPAIRS COMPLETELY DONE. WHEN THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED TO SHIFT INTO A HIGHER GEAR, IT SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL INSTEAD AND SLOWED DOWN TO A LOWER SPEED. THE CONTACT WAS NOT ASSISTED OR ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT WAS DENIED BEING ABLE TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,500..*BF CONSUMER RECEIVED SECOND RECALL WAS ISSUED. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO RECALL SERVICED. VEHICLE STILL NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY, IN FACT IT SEEMS TO BE WORSE. SERVICED 5-28-19.*JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE DOWNSHIFTED INTO FIRST GEAR WITHOUT WARNING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN) BY BRANDON FORD (9090 E ADAMO DR, TAMPA, FL 33619, (813) 246-3673), BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AGAIN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
RECALL NOTICE19S07 RECALL NHTSA 19V-075 I HAVE GONE TO THE DEALERSHIP 2 TIMES I HAVE THE 6 CYLINDER WITH3.5 ECO-BOOST ENGINE. THEY SAID FORD DOES NOT HAVE A REPAIR FOR THE V-6 YET BUT WHEN THEY DO I WILL RECEIVE A NOTICE WHY WAS I NOTIFIED IF THERE IS NO REPROGRAMING YET. IT HAS BEEN RECALLED AND THEY HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN A FIX
THE REAR DEFROSTER HAS NOT WORKED IN A COUPLE OF YEARS. I HAVE READ ON THE INTERNET THAT THERE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THESE FROM 2009-2014 AND THAT IT IS NOT WORTH FIXING BECAUSE IT WILL JUST BREAK AGAIN. WITH A PUSHBUTTON RATHER THAN A TOGGLE SWITCH IT IS NOT CLEAR IF IT IS TURNED ON OR OFF. DRIVING ONE RAINY DAY, IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS DRIPPING RAIN INSIDE THE TRUCK AT THE BACK WINDOW, BUT I COULD NOT SEE ANY WATER COMING IN. I THEN NOTICED THE LIGHT WAS ON FOR THE REAR DEFROST. I RECALLED WHAT I HAD READ ABOUT THESE DEFROSTERS SHORTING OUT AND CAUSING THE WINDOW TO SHATTER. I REALIZED THAT WAS THE SOUND OF ELECTRICAL ARCING RATHER THAN WATER. I QUICKLY PUSHED THE BUTTON TO THE OFF POSITION AND WITHIN ONE SECOND, BOOM, THE WINDOW WAS SHATTERED. WITH THE LARGE VOLUME OF COMMENTS AND ARTICLES ON THE INTERNET, WHY IS FORD NOT RECALLING THIS? THIS IS A VERY EXPENSIVE WINDOW TO GET REPLACED AND AS MANY OTHERS DO, I DO NOT HAVE IT PLUGGED IN TO AVOID ANOTHER SHATTERED WINDOW. ALSO, THE MIRROR DEFROSTERS WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT THE ENTIRE CIRCUIT BEING COMPLETED. I HAVE OTHER PAST EXPERIENCE WITH FORD NOT BACKING THEIR PRODUCT.
HARD TO TURN (LEFT/RIGHT), ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEEDS!
I RECEIVED WRITTEN NOTICE FROM FORD THAT OUR 2012 YEAR MODEL, FORD, F-150 PICKUP TRUCK WAS RECALLED UNDER FORD RECALL: 19S07 AND NHTSA RECALL: 19V-075. THIS IS THE RECALL HAVING TO DO WITH FORDS PCM PROGRAMMING BEING UNABLE TO COPE WITH AN INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION OSS. THE PCM WOULD FORCE THE VEHICLE INTO 1ST GEAR REGARDLESS OF CURRENT OPERATING SPEED (MPH). I WAS JUST INFORMED BY A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP THAT FORD CANNOT PERFORM A FIX ON MY VEHICLE BECAUSE THEY ONLY REPAIRED THE PCM FOR THE V8 ENGINE AND HAVE NOT YET GOTTEN AROUND TO THE V6 ECO BOOST ENGINES, EVEN THOUGH THE RECALL DOCUMENTS I RECEIVED INSTRUCT ME TO TAKE THE TRUCK IN FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. FURTHER, THE RECALL DOCUMENTS I RECEIVED HAVE THE VEHICLE INFO (VIN INCLUDED) ON EACH OF THEM SO ONE WOULD ASSUME THE VIN WAS CROSSCHECKED WITH FORD'S MANUFACTURING DATA BASE TO DETERMINE IF THE OFFERED FIX ACTUALLY FIT THE VEHICLE. I AM TOLD THAT OUR VEHICLE DOES NEED THE FIX BUT IT WILL NOT BE OUT UNTIL SOME TIME LATER THIS SUMMER.
REAR DEFROST MALFUNCTIONED WHILE WARMING UP THE TRUCK. THE ELECTRICAL INPUT TO THE REAR WINDOW EXPLODED AND SHATTERED THE BACK WINDOW MAKING IT UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THE WINDOW IS NOW A LIABILITY FOR REAR PASSENGERS.
I WAS ENTERING THE INTERSTATE SYSTEM BY WAY OF "ON RAMP". WENT TO ACCELERATE TO HIGHWAY SPEED (65 MPH) AND MY TRUCK BEGAN TO SHUTTER AND LOOSE POWER. I HAD TO STAY ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD TO AVOID GETTING HIT BY A SEMI TRUCK. IT EVENTUALLY BEGAN TO RUN NORMAL.
I RECIEVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 19S07/NHTSA RECALL 19V-075 CONCERNING A RECALL TO REPROGRAM THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE TO PREVENT UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFIT TO CORRECT INTERMITTENT AILURES OF THE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR THAT MAY RESULT IN AN UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR. THE PROPOSED CORRECTION IS INADEQUATE, SINCE IT DOES NOT ADDRESS THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM, THAT IS, INTERMITTENT FAILURE OF THE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR. I REQUEST THAT THE NHTSA REQUIRE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO CORRECT THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM, THAT IS, THE DEFECT EXISTING IN THE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR THAT MAY CAUSE UNINTENDED DOWNSHIFTS, SINCE FAILING TO CORRECT THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE ISSUE AND MERELY INSTALLING A SOFTWARE PATCH WILL NOT RESULT IN PROPER OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE, POTENTIALLY IMPAIRING FUEL ECONOMY AND/OR PROPER FUNCTION AND SAFETY DURING SPECIFIC DRIVING CONDITIONS.
MY TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTING OUT OF 6TH GEAR INTO 1ST GEAR. THIS WAS UPDATED BY A COMPUTER FIX THAT KEEPS IT FROM SHIFTING TO 1ST GEAR BUT INTO 5TH INSTEAD. FORD HAS A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 16N02 THAT ADDRESSES THE SAME PROBLEMS I AM HAVING AND A FIX FOR IT. MY TRUCK WAS BUILT AT THE PLANT INDICATED, IN THE TIME FRAME INDICATED AND GIVES THE ENGINE CODES AS INDICATED BY THE BULLETIN. I HAVE CONTACTED THEM ABOUT IT AND DESPITE ALL THESE FINDINGS AM BEING TOLD THAT IT IS NOT THEIR PROBLEM TO FIX. MY MILEAGE IS BELOW THE 150K THRESHOLD THAT IS SET FOR THIS WARRANTY EXTENSION ON THE LEAD FRAME PROBLEM. THEIR FIX TO STOP IT FROM SHIFTING TO 1ST GEAR REDUCES THE CHANCE FOR A MAJOR ACCIDENT BUT THEIR REFUSAL TO FIX THE PROBLEM IN THE LEAD FRAME STILL LEAVES THIS AS A SAFETY ISSUE. A DOWN SHIFT AT SPEED TO 5TH GEAR STILL CAUSES AN UNINDICATED AND UNCONTROLLED SLOW DOWN OF MY TRUCK, THE LOSS OF SPEEDOMETER IS ALSO APPARENTLY CAUSING SOME PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG WHEN THIS OCCURS AS I MA GETTING A MESSAGE TO REMOVE OBJECTS FROM THE PASSENGER SEAT WHEN THIS OCCURS. MY LOCAL FORD SHOP WILL NOT TRY TO WARRANTY THIS PROBLEM, I HAVE MADE 2 DIFFERENT CONTACTS AT FORD CONCERNING THIS AND THEY ALL SAY IT IS NOT ONE THEY HAVE MARKED FOR HAVING THIS PROBLEM. I CAN'T HELP THAT IT IS NOT ONE THEY THOUGHT MIGHT BE AFFECTED, I CAN ONLY SAY THAT IT HAS BEEN AND CAN'T GET IT REPAIRED BY THEM.

The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train). The contact took the vehicle to local dealer to have the recall remedy completed. The contact stated while driving 75 MPH and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle inadvertently decelerated. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to park on the side of the roadway. The contact called a local dealer and made them aware of the failure. The vehicle was not drivable. The contact towed the vehicle to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the transmission to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.
POWER STEERING LOCKS UP WHEN DRIVING. IT STARTED (03/01/2019) WITH THE ADVANCE TRAC-CONTROL LIGHT TURNING ON AND THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD BECOME VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN. NOW (07/03/2019) THE POWER STEERING CUTS OUT AND LOCKS UP ALL THE TIME. DID I MENTION THAT IT IS MY STEERING WHEEL THAT IS AFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE- THE DEVICE THAT ALLOWS ME TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE AND HELPS TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM GETTING IN AN ACCIDENT AND POSSIBLY SEVERELY INJURING OR KILLING MYSELF OR SOMEONE ELSE? FORD KNOWS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM (AS EVIDENT FROM THE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS AND TESTIMONIES SUBMITTED TO DATE) - AND I HAVE EVEN TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER BUT TO NO AVAIL. WITH SO MANY COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE, I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT FORD HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL TO FIX THE ISSUE OF THE """"POWER STEERING CUTTING OUT""""" WHICH IN TURN MAKES THE STEERING WHEEL VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN, WHICH IN TURN MAKES THE VEHICLE VERY, VERY, VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. ARE YOU KIDDING ME - A COMPANY THAT PUTS NOT ONLY THE LIVES OF PEOPLE WHO PURCHASE THEIR PRODUCTS AT RISK BUT ALL OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC'S LIVES AT RISK DUE TO A PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF IS APPALLING, AT BEST!!!!! 2012 FORD KING RANCH 3.5 ECOBOOST F150 SUDDENLY DOWN SHIFTS DURING ACCELERATION. IT IS LABORED WHEN ACCELERATING, IT GETS TO THE 6TH GEAR THEN SUDDENLY DOWN SHIFTS.THIS HAPPENS WHEN TRYING TO MERGE ON TO THE HIGHWAY AND ALSO WHEN COMING FROM A COMPLETE STOP AFTER SITTING AT A LIGHT, THEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. IT HAS HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AT 70MPH TRYING TO ACCELERATE TO 75 MPH TOO. IT SEEMS LIKE IT LOSES POWER.
MY POWER STEERING HAS FAILED FOUR TIMES. THE FIRST TWO TIMES, IT CORRECTED ITSELF. THE THIRD TIME, MY SERVICE CENTER FOUND A CODE THAT SHOWED A MISCOMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE WHEEL AND STEERING SYSTEM, WHICH LOCKED THE WHEEL. IT HAS NOW HAPPENED A THIRD TIME. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS, AS IT HAPPENS WHILE I AM DRIVING! IT STARTS WHEN I PUT IT IN DRIVE, REGARDLESS OF WHERE I AM. I LIVE AND WORK IN NASHVILLE, TN.
THERE IS A TICK/KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH MY ENGINE IT SOUNDS LIKE. I JUST BOUGHT THIS FROM A DEALER ABOUT A WEEK AGO AND I'M VERY FRUSTRATED RIGHT NOW BECAUSE I AM WORKING HARD TO MAKE PAYMENTS ON THIS TRUCK AND NOW I PROBABLY HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENGINE??? IT HAS 123,000 MILES
WHEN YOU SLOW DOWN FOR A CURVE TRY TO PARK YOU CAN'T STEER. SOMETIMES IT'S FINE AND THEN IT COMES BACK AS YOU DRIVE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM WITH A LOT OF FORDS OF THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL. ALL TYPES OF ROADS WHILE IN MOTION.

FEB 24, 2019 WAS PULLING OUT OF CHURCH PARKING LOT WHEN FORD TRUCK SUDDENLY DIED WHILE MERGING INTO TRAFFIC. LUCKILY I HAD ENOUGH SPACE TO MANEUVEUR TO THE SIDE. I TURNED VEHICLE OFF AND TRIED TO RESTART. FORD TRUCK WOULD ONLY CRANK..(NO START) I HAD TRUCK TOWED HOME. AFTER READING ON INTERNET I LOOKED AT FUEL FUSE F27 20 AMP. SURE ENOUGH IT WAS BURNED. I REPLACED AND VEHICLE STARTED UP. I ASKED DEALER ABOUT WARRANTY UNDER THE FEDERAL EMISSION WARRANTY AND THEY SAID NOTHING EXSIST. I HAVE READ ENOUGH TO KNOW THIS IS A DANGEROUS ISSUE THAT FORD KNOWS ABOUT AND SHOULD REPAIR.
TWICE NOW (I JUST PURCHASED IT LESS THAN 30 DAYS AGO) WHILE BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY I HAD TO STAND ON THE BRAKES TO STOP THE VEHICLE. NO POWER BRAKES WERE PRESENT. NO LIGHTS ON DASH, NO WARNING,....NO NOTHING.
ON THE EVENING OF 2/14/19 WHILE RETURNING HOME FROM THE CAR WASH, MY 2012 FORD F-150 SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED INTO 1ST GEAR FROM 6TH GEAR WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. THERE WAS NO LOSS OF CONTROL AS THE ROAD WAS DRY AND MY SPEED WAS 40 MPH. THE NEXT MORNING I CALLED THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT JACK DEMMER FORD IN WAYNE MI TO SPEAK WITH MY SERVICE REP. HE DID NOT PICK UP AND DID NOT RETURN MY CALL DESPITE MY LEAVING A DETAILED MESSAGE AND CALLING AGAIN LATER IN THE DAY. ON THE MORNING OF 2/19/19 WHILE ON THE FREEWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE WENT INTO WHAT I ASSUME IS "LIMP MODE". IT DROPPED FROM 6TH TO 5TH GEAR AND A WRENCH LOGO APPEARED IN THE MESSAGE SCREEN. THERE WAS NO DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM, JUST A LOGO. WHEN I GOT OFF THE FREEWAY, I REALIZED THAT I NO LONGER HAD 1ST, 2ND, OR 6TH GEAR. I ARRIVED AT WORK AND CALLED THE DEALER IMMEDIATELY. THEY GAVE ME A RUNAROUND ABOUT HOW AN OFFICIAL FIX WAS NOT AVAILABLE YET AND ASKED ME IF I HAD TRIED TURNING THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN. AFTER INSISTING REPEATEDLY THAT SOMETHING BE DONE, I WAS TOLD I COULD BRING THE TRUCK IN THE HAVE THE POWER TRAIN MODULE "REPROGRAMMED". THIS WAS DONE AT NO COST BUT I WAS TOLD THIS WAS ALL THEY COULD DO FOR ME AT THIS TIME. THE NEXT DAY IN THE EVENING, THE TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED TO SECOND GEAR WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY DOING 55 MILES AN HOUR. THE ROAD WAS WET AND STARTING TO FREEZE. I NEARLY LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE BUT WAS ABLE TO REGAIN CONTROL. THE TRUCK RETURNED TO NORMAL AFTER THIS. AS OF 2/20/19, NO FURTHER CONTACT HAS BEEN MADE WITH FORD REGARDING THE ISSUE. I WILL BE CALLING TOMORROW TO CUSTOMER CARE ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND DEMANDING A RENTAL CAR UNTIL THE VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE. IT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS IS RELATED TO RECALL 19S07. THE TRANSMISSION OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR IS REPORTED TO BE LOSING COMMUNICATION WITH THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE, CAUSING A DOWNSHIFT.
ATTEMPTED TO BACK OUT OF DRIVEWAY AND TURNED VEHICLE TO LEFT AND HEARD LOUD SCREECHING SOUND FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT. IMMEDIATELY RECEIVED "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" ALERT, THEN POWER STEERING COMPLETELY FAILED, AND "POWER STEERING FAILURE" DISPLAYED ON VEHICLE DISPLAY. NO POWER STEERING NOW AND SLIGHTEST TURN OF WHEEL RESULTS IN LOUD SCREECHING SOUND FROM STEERING RACK. NOW, WHEN VEHICLE SITS IN PARK WITH ENGINE RUNNING, NO POWER STEERING IS AVAILABLE AND THE WHEELS CANNOT BE TURNED WITHOUT EXCESSIVE FORCE.
I HAVE A 2012 F-150 WITH THE 3.5L ECOBOOST ENGINE, 100,000 MILES. I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH NO POWER BRAKES WHEN TRUCK IS INITIALLY STARTED AND THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THIS AS A FAILED VACUUM PUMP THIS TYPICALLY HAPPENS AT SLOW SPEEDS THE FIRST SEVERAL TIMES YOU STOP. A RECALL WAS FORCED IN CANADA AND A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION WARRANTY EXTENSION IS IN PLACE IN THE USA (15N05). BOTH COVER THE 2011 TO 2012 F-150 WITH ECOBOOST ENGINE. FOR SOME REASON MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL & CUSTOMER SATISFACTION POLICY. BRAKES INTERMITTENTLY HAVE NO POWER ASSIST AND ITS VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP TRUCK, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARENT EXPECTING THE BRAKES TO FAIL LIKE THAT. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM AND I HAVE CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE - BUT ALL THEY WILL TELL ME IS MY VIN ISNT COVERED. THEY NEED TO EXPAND THIS TO COVER MORE VEHICLES - ITS A HUGE SAFETY RELATED ISSUE. I CANT BELIEVE NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V075000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
IN FEBRUARY 2017 WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE ON A DOWN HILL SLOP I WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND INTO GRASS AREA ALMOST HITTING A TREE IN REVERSE. THE POWER BRAKES WERE SO HARD I COULD NOT MOVE THE BRAKE PEDAL. ONCE IT CAME TO REST I PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE AND LET OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL THEN REAPPLIED THE BRAKE AND THEY WORKED. I THEN TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY PERFORMED A RECALL FSA 15N05 ON 2/27/2017 WITH 35,514 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THEN ON 2/16/2019 I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY GARAGE AND AGAIN COULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE AND WENT INTO GRASS HILL OF MY YARD.AGAIN MY BRAKE PEDAL WAS HARD AND NO POWER BRAKES. WHEN THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP I LET OFF THE BRAKE AND REAPPLIED AND THEY STARTED TO WORK AGAIN. I TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER THAT DAY FOR THEM TO CHECK IT OUT. THEY NOTIFIED ME IT AGAIN WAS THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP HAS HAS FAILED AGAIN AND FORD WILL NOT FIX IT SINCE IT WAS FIXED ONCE BEFORE UNDER THIS RECALL. THE DEALER ALSO TOLD ME THEY CANNOT FIX IT DUE TO THE PUMPS BEING BACK ORDERED FOR AT LEAST 30 DAYS. SO THE FIRST RECALL REPAIR ONLY LASTED 19,108 MILES AND LESS THAN 2 YEARS. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME BEHIND ME TO GET RUN OVER AND NO DAMAGE OCCURRED. MY FEELING THAT THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE AND PARTS SHOULD LAST LONGER. IT APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM SINCE THE PART IS NOW ON BACK ORDER AND LOOKS TO BE A POOR DESIGN.
I HAVE OWNED MY TRUCK FOR 5+ YEARS NOW. ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 22 STARTED UP MY TRUCK TURNED ON MY DEFROST AND REAR DEFROST SAT IN THE CAR FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES ARRIVED AT WORK. AS I PULLED UP IN THE PARKING LOT I HEARD A VERY DISTURBING LOUD NOISE. SOUNDED LIKE SOMEBODY HAD HIT MY TRUCK WITH A ROCK OR A BEBE GUN. I WAS BEYOND FREAKED OUT SPECIALLY SINCE I WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE PARKING LOT. I STAYED IN MY TRUCK FOR SEVERAL MINUTES CALMED MYSELF DOWN AND DECIDED TO CALL MY HUSBAND. EXPLAIN TO HIM WHAT HAD JUST HAPPENED. AS I'M TALKING TO HIM I NOTICED IN MY REARVIEW MIRROR... THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE REAR WINDOW WAS SHATTERING AS I WAS TALKING TO MY HUSBAND. I DEFINITELY THOUGHT SOMEBODY HAD TO HIT MY VEHICLE WITH SOMETHING. HE TOLD ME TO CALL THE POLICE IF I FELT THREATENED. AT THE SAME TIME COWORKER PULLED UP NEXT TO ME I ROLL DOWN MY WINDOW AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAD HAPPENED. HE GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND SAID THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO VISIBLE OF ANY TYPE OF HIT. SHE SAID IT MUST HAVE SHATTERED ON ITS OWN. WE WERE BOTH PRETTY SPEECHLESS BUT I WAS TOTALLY FREAKED OUT. CALLED THE INSURANCE COMPANY FILED A CLAIM. WHEN I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO SAFELITE FOR REPAIRS. HE ADVISED ME THAT FORD TRUCKS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR MANY YEARS HE ALSO ADVISED ME THAT THEY ARE NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT SO I WOULD BE WASTING MY TIME. I WENT ONLINE AND DID SOME RESEARCH AND SURE ENOUGH, SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. IF THIS IS A DEFECT THAT COURT IS AWARE OF MY SUGGESTION WOULD BE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. WHAT IF I HAD MY NIECES AND THEIR CAR SEATS IN THE BACK IN THE WINDOW SHATTERED AND HURT MY NIECES??? I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH THE QUALITY OF MY TRUCK NOW I DON'T KNOW IF I WILL OWN ANOTHER FORD BECAUSE OF THIS MAJOR PROBLEM THAT THEY HAVE THAT THEY ARE IGNORING. 😡💩

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.
I WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK IN A GROCERY STORE PARKING LOT WHEN A POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING CAN ON AN I LOST STEERING. THE STEERING WHEEL FEELS LOCK AND THANKFULLY I WAS NOT DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. I GOOGLED THIS AND HAVE SEEN LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE RESULTING IN ACCIDENTS AND LOSS OF LIFE. COME ON FORD...
THE SAME DAY THE RECALL 19S07 WAS RELEASED MY VEHICLE DID DOWNSHIFT BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GET IT IN TO UPDATE THE SOFTWARE. I WAS GOING ABOUT 45 MPH WHEN THE DOWNSHIFT OCCURRED. ON 02/15/19 I WAS ABLE TO GET THE SOFTWARE UPDATE. RECALL WAS TAKEN CARE OF. THE NEXT DAY 02/16/19 I WAS DRIVING THEN THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT SHIFT. TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND GOT IT DIAGNOSED. TRUCK RAN JUST FINE BEFORE THE TRUCK DOWNSHIFTED. COME TO FIND OUT THE LEAD FRAME WAS DAMAGED DUE TO THE DOWNSHIFT. DID MY RESEARCH AND BACK IN 2016 FORD ISSUED A RECALL 16N02, WHICH COVERS A ONE TIME REPLACEMENT OF THE LEAD FRAME WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODELS OF THIS VEHICLE. THE ISSUE IS STILL HERE AND I BELEIVE THEY SHOULD REPLACE THE LEAD FRAME AS WELL DUE TO THE RECALL 19S07 CREATED MORE PROBLEMS.

WAS DRIVING AND WOULD LOOSE POWER AND SLOW WAY DOWN THEN POWER WOULD COME BACK. COULD GET BACK TO HIGHWAY SPEED THEN LOOSE POWER AGAIN. I WAD ABLE TO GET HOME. ONCE I STOPPED ENGINE IT WOULD NOT RESTART. HAD TOWED TO FORD DEALER FOR REPAIRS. WAS TOLD IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE THAT THE FUSE IS TOO SMALL AND HAS TO BE REWIRED. THIS IS A DESIGN FLAW AND SAFETY ISSUE. FORD SHOULD HAVE TO RECALL AND FIX IT. THIS COST ME $430 TO HAVE REPAIRED.
DRIVER SIDE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WHILE SITTING STILL IN A PARKING LOT WITH VEHICLE NOT RUNNING. THE REAR WINDOW IS A 3 PIECE SLIDING WINDOW WITH REAR DEFROST AND FACTORY TINT. THE VEHICLE HAD JUST BEEN TURNED OFF AFTER DRIVING WITH THE REAR DEFROSTER ON. APPROXIMATELY 2-3 MINUTES AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF I HEARD A LOAD BOOM AND AFTER INVESTIGATING FOUND IT TO BE THE REAR GLASS SHATTERING. AFTER RESEARCHING THE CONDITION, IT SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM ON THESE VEHICLES AFTER RUNNING THE REAR DEFROSTER.
2012 F150 FX4 PASSENGER REAR WINDOW EXPLODED 2-9-19. 32 DEGREES. HAS DEFROST, WAS NOT ON. ACTUALLY CAUGHT THE INCIDENT ON VIDEO WHILE PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. ENTERED VEHICLE AFTER REMOTE START, INSERTED KEY...10 SECONDS LATER "SHATTER". THIS IS CLEARLY DEFECTIVE GLASS, MAYBE NOT THICK ENOUGH? DISAPPOINTING. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL. I DO HAVE VIDEO AS IT OCCURRED.
I WAS DRIVING MY TRUCK GOING TO WORK, I WAS GOING ABOUT 70MPH IT WAS FOGGY AND THE ROADS WERE WET. OUT OF NOWHERE MY F-150 SLAMS INTO 1ST GEAR AND LOCKS THE REAR WHEELS, MAKING SKID STRAIGHT OFF THE HIGHWAY INTO THE DITCH. MY INSTRUMENT GAUGES WENT SCRAZY, MY NEEDLE FOR MY SPEEDOMETER WENT TO 0-MPH AS SOON AS IT DROPPED TO 1ST GEAR. WHEN THE TRUCK FINALLY CAME TO A STOP, I NOTICED THAT THE WRENCH LIGHT AND CHECK ENGINE WERE ON. I SHUT THE TRUCK OFF AND STEPPED OUTSIDE AND DID A WALK AROUND OF IT AND NOTICED THAT THE DRIVERS REAR BED FENDER WAS PUSHED IN. I STARTED THE TRUCK UP AND NOTICE THE WRENCH LIGHT WAS OFF BUT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS STILL. I PUT THE TRUCK IN DRIVE AND NOTICE ON THE DASH THAT THE NUMBERS FOR GEARS WEREN'T ON SO I PUT IT IN MANUAL AND IT WAS ON GEAR 3. SO I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE TRUCK BACK HOME IN 3RD GEAR. I DO SOME SEARCHING FOR THIS SAME 2012 F-150 FX2 ECOBOOST AND SEEN FORD HAS A RECALL FOR THIS SAME MODEL AND PAY FOR A WRECKER TO TAKE IT TO FORD. NOW THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT MY TRUCK IS NOT COVER UNDER THE RECALL.
WHILE DRIVING ON BUSY EXPRESSWAY IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, MY TRUCK SUDDENLY SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND I LOST ALL INFORMATION ON DASH (SPEEDOMETER, MILES UNTIL EMPTY, ETC). LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND NO ONE WAS HURT. HAD TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED. I WAS TOLD THAT MY TRASMISSION HAS CODE P0722, APPARENTLY A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE MOLDED LEAD FRAME. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT MY VIN WAS NOT COVERED UNDER A RECALL AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET. VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH FORD'S QUALITY OF PRODUCT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR A KNOWN ISSUE. THIS TRUCK HAS LESS THAN 56,000 MILES ON IT AND I AM STILL MAKING MONTHLY PAYMENTS.

OTHER DAY IT GOT STUCK IN 1ST GEAR AGAIN AND A 'WRENCH' APPEARED ON INSTRUMENT GAUGE. I LOOKED ON INTERNET AND IT APPEARS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS TRUCK AND THAT THERE IS A RECALL WHEN I CALLED FORD I WANNA TOLD THAT MINE DOESN'T FALL UNDER RECALL. HOW CAN THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE SAME MODEL AND SAME YEAR TRUCK BE COVERED FOR SOME BUT NOT ALL TRUCKS. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A KNOW PROBLEM THAT FORD IS REFUSING TO COVER. THIS IS DANGEROUS AND COULD CAUSE SOMEONE INJURY OR WORSE.
I REMOTE STARTED MY 2012 F-150 AND WHEN I WENT OUT TO GET IN THE TRUCK I NOTICED MY REAR DEFROSTER WASN'T ON ANYMORE AND THE REAR WINDOW HAD NOT DEFROSTED. IT WAS ABOUT 25 DEGREES OUT. I PUSHED THE REAR DEFROSTER BUTTON BUT IT WOULD NOT COME ON. I LOOKED IN THE REAR VIEW MIRROR AND NOTICED MY PASSENGER WINDOW, OF THE 3 SECTION REAR WINDOW, HAD SHATTERED. I TAPED THE WINDOW UP AND DROVE TO WORK. I HAVE 36,428 MILES ON THIS TRUCK AND I AM NOT HAPPY!!
A YEAR AGO, MY 2012 F150 XLT 2WD HAD A POWER STEERING FAILURE. IT MAGICALLY STARTED WORKING UNTIL A MONTH AGO. WITHIN TWO WEEKS, MY POWER STEERING FAILED THREE TIMES. I STARTED MY VEHICLE, PUT IT INTO GEAR, AND IMMEDIATELY THE POWER STEERING FAILURE LIGHT CAME ON. THE FIRST TIME, RESTARTING MY TRUCK WORKED. THE SECOND TIME, MY NORMAL MECHANIC RAN CODES AND FOUND THERE WAS A MISCOMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE STEERING WHEEL AND POWER STEERING, STATING IT WASN'T ZEROED OUT AND THEREFORE LOCKED. THEY RESET IT AND IT WORKED. THE THIRD TIME, I ZEROED THE WHEEL OUT WHEN I GOT TO WORK... USING ALL MY STRENGTH TO MAKE TURNS. I THEN TOOK IT TO BE DIAGNOSED BY A FORD DEALER SERVICE CENTER AND THEY FOUND AN "INTERNAL FAILURE" OF THE POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY GEAR, PART #EL3Z-3504-BE. THIS PART HAS BEEN RECALLED ON MANY 2008-2014 F150S, BUT MINE ISN'T ON THE RECALL LIST. I LIVE IN NASHVILLE, SO MY DRIVING IS A MIX OF CITY STREETS AND INTERSTATES. I HAVE THE DIAGNOSIS/ESTIMATE PAPERWORK ON HAND. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE HAS REFUSED TO RETURN MY CALLS.
WHEN STARTING TRUCK WHEN HASN'T BEEN DRIVEN FOR SEVERAL HOURS ENGINE MAKES A LOUD GROWLING NOISE FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS BEFORE SOUNDING NORMAL. IT HAD DONE IT OCCASIONALLY BEFORE 02/2019 BUT NOW DOES IT DAILY. SOME RESEARCH ON OTHER FORUMS THAT IT IS THE TENSIONER ON THE TIMING BELT. TRUCK WITH THIS LOW MILEAGE SHOULD NOT BE HAVING THESE ISSUES. ANY INPUT?

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 52,000.

FORD OF LONDONDERRY (33 NASHUA RD, LONDONDERRY, NH 03053, (603) 434-4141) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
