NO BRAKES WHEN STARTING UP MY TRUCK, PLUS WENT THROUGH A STOP SIGN, IT DID NOT STOP, AFTER THAT THE BRAKES STARTED TO WORK AGAIN, BUT EVERY TIME I START THE TRUCK UP IN MY GARAGE, AND BACK IT OUT THERE ARE NO BRAKE ,IT BEEN DOING THIS OCT TO NOW, IF I PUSH HARD ON THE BRAKE IT WILL SLOWLY STOP IT

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THE ELECTRIC COIL WAS REPLACED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V248000 (POWER TRAIN). THE CONTACT EXPERIENCED THE SAME FAILURE LISTED IN THE RECALL. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. IN SOME CASES, THE OSS SIGNAL COULD RECOVER WHILE DRIVING AND THE VEHICLE WILL RESUME NORMAL FUNCTION; IN OTHER CASES THE VEHICLE MAY NEED TO BE STOPPED AND RESTARTED TO REGAIN NORMAL TRANSMISSION OPERATION. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY MY POWER STEERING SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING RESULTING IN DIFFICULTY CONTROLLING MY VEHICLE. I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MAXWELL FORD IN AUSTIN, TX AND AFTER SEVERAL DAYS THEY DETERMINED THE ISSUE WAS A FAILED POWER STEERING GEAR/MOTOR AND REPLACED IT AT MY EXPENSE FOR APPROXIMATELY $1800. DOING BASIC ONLINE SEARCHING THERE ARE TONS OF OTHER PEOPLE WITH VARIOUS YEAR MODELS OF F-150S REPORTING THE SAME ISSUE. THIS WOULD APPEAR TO BE RELATED TO OTHER VEHICLES THAT HAVE SIMILAR ISSUES THAT HAVE RECALLS, BUT 2012 F-150S DO NOT SEEM TO BE INCLUDED.
LOSS OF POWER UNDER HARD ACCELERATION, UNDIAGNOSED MISFIRE AT ALL SPEEDS. THESE PROBLEMS OCCUR IN DRY AND WET CONDITIONS. THE TRUCK LOST POWER ON THE INTERSTATE TWICE AND I HAD TO PULL OVER AND SHUT IT DOWN THEN RESTART TO CONTINUE (AROUND 20K MILES). THIS OCCURRED WHILE UNDER WARRANTY, DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING BECAUSE THERE WAS NO SEL ACTIVATED. AS MILEAGE HAD INCREASED, MISFIRE ARE WORSENING EVEN AFTER WATER IS REMOVED FROM AIR COOLER AND SPARK PLUGS REPLACED. MY TRUCK WAS AT A DEALER FOR 3 DAYS AND THEY TOLD ME THEY DID NOT KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG. NORMALLY CHANGING THE PLUGS AND CLEANING OUT THE AIR COOLER FIXES THE PROBLEMS FOR A WHILE UNTIL NOW. I HAVE EVEN REPLACED A COIL BECAUSE IT IS THROWING A CODE FOR #1 CYLINDER NOT FIRING. THE NEW COIL MADE NO DIFFERENCE. THE VEHICLE HAS 133,000 MILES AND IS ALMOST NOT DRIVABLE IT HAS GOTTEN SO BAD. I HAVE SUBMITTED MY COMPLAINT TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AS WELL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED TO 40 MPH AND SHOOK VIOLENTLY. THE CONTACT HAD TO MANEUVER THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE ENGINE WAS SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO RETURN TO NORMAL. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT LEAST 30 TIMES WITHIN THE PAST YEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TWICE TO INDEPENDENT MECHANICS AND ONE TIME TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 137,919.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V248000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,545. *CN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MILEAGE GAUGE WENT FROM 70 TO 50 TO 40, AND THE RPMS INCREASED TO 4,000. THE RPMS THEN RAPIDLY DROPPED DOWN TO 1,500. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AS A "P-1500". THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
HAD THIS PROBLEN FROM START BUT DID NOT KNOW IT ONLY HAVE 30K MILES ON 2012 DO NOT HAVE MANY HIGHWAY MILES BUT WHEN TRAVELING BRAKE LIGHT COMES ON . HAVE HAD CHECKED TWO TIMES AND NOTHING WRONG WITH BRAKES. HAD FORD CK AND FOUND TO BE VACUME LEAK THAT HAS BEEN THERE FOR LONG TIME WHEN THIS HAPPENS I HAVE MANUAL BRAKES AT BEST . FORD SAID NOT WARRENTIED AND 700.00 TO FIX . I GUESS FORD IS WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO GET KILLED BEFORE THEY RECALL. IF ANYONE OUT THERE CAN HELP PLEASE ADVISE.
TRUCK LOOSES POWER UNDER HARD ACCELERATION. I HAVE HAD IT IN TWO OTHER TIMES WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SPARK PLUGS HAD CRACKED. I HAVE IT SCHEDULED TO GO BACK IN LATER THIS WEEK AGAIN. I'M GUESSING THE PLUGS CRACKED AGAIN. I'VE BEEN GIVEN NO ANSWERS AS TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 2 MPH, THE REAR DEFROSTER BECAME INOPERABLE AND MELTED THE RUBBER STRIP. IN ADDITION, THE REAR PASSENGER GLASS SHATTERED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DEFROSTER AND REAR GLASS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 49,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE HAD SLUDGE, THE VEHICLE HAD A STRONG HESITATION, AND STALLED MORE THAN TWICE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND REPAIR SHOP MORE THAN ONCE FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC WARNING LIGHT APPEARED ON THE VEHICLE CONSOLE AFTER A SHARP TURN, TURN SIGNALS WOULD NOT WORK WHILE THE WARNING LIGHT WAS ON. HIT THE OK BUTTON AS INDICATED ON THE VEHICLE CONSOLE, AND THE WARNING LIGHT WENT OFF. TURNED OFF VEHICLE AND AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE AND DRIVING FORWARD THE SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC WARNING WENT OFF. SINCE THE VEHICLE IS A 2012 WITH 65,000 MILES IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY FROM FORD. THE WARNING TURNS ON AFTER TURNING SHARPLY OUT OF A PARKING SPACE OR BACKING OUT OF A DRIVEWAY. SOMETIMES THE WARNING COMES ON SEVERAL DAYS IN A ROW AND OTHER TIMES AFTER IT CLEARS IT WILL STAY OFF FOR DAYS.
FLUID LOSS: ON 2 SEPARATE OCCASIONS I HAVE PARKED MY TRUCK IN MY DRIVEWAY AT NIGHT AND IN THE MORNING I AWAKE TO FIND PUDDLES OF FLUID UNDER TRUCK. I HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK TO A FORD SERVICE CENTER AND BOTH TIMES HAVE BEEN TOLD I HAVE NO LEAKS. 2 DAYS AGO THE PUDDLE OF REDDISH FLUID WAS MUCH BIGGER. ONCE AGAIN I AM TOLD NO LEAKS BY SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I HAVE SHOWN THEM PICTURES & I AM TOLD THERE ARE FLUIDS THEY CANNOT CHECK, FORD HAS NOT PROVIDED A WAY TO DO THAT ON THIS TRUCK. I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AS I CAN'T AFFORD A HUGE REPAIR BILL. OTHER F150 OWNERS HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES AND I AM CONCERNED. IS FORD GOING TO WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE DIES OR ARE THEY HOPING THE CONSUMER WILL PAY FOR FIX AFTER WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED? WHAT ARE THEY HIDING?
HELLO, I HAVE A 2012 FORD PICKUP TRUCK WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, MULTIPLE TIMES AS I WAS DRIVING ON THE ROAD THE TRUCK WOULD DOWNSHIFT AND LOSE POWER, THE DASHBOARD WOULD READ THAT I'M DRIVING IN 5TH GEAR BUT THE TRUCK WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 5MILES PER HOUR. I WOULD PULL OVER AND TURN VEHICLE OFF FOR A FEW MINUTES AND RESTART AGAIN, SOMETIMES IT WOULD WORK, I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT A RECALL FOR THE SAME SYMPTOMS WERE DONE TO OTHER TRUCKS LIKE MINE, BUT THE VIN # WAS NOT COMING UP AS BEING ONE OF THE INFECTED ONES, THE REPAIRS WERE VERY EXPENSIVE AND I KEPT THE RECEIPT JUST INCASE IT COMES UP LATER, SO FAR NO LUCK ACCORDING TO FORD.THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME IF IT DOES , BUT TO LET SOMEONE KNOW THEY DID CHANGE THE EXACT PARTS ON THE RECALL. WELL ITS BEEN AWHILE SINCE THIS TOOK PLACE. THE TRUCK HAS 135,000 MILES ON IT AND STILL RUNS GOOD AFTER THE REPAIR AT ALOT LESS MILES AT THE TIME. I CAN SEND THE RECEIPT IF YOU NEED IT OR THE DEALERSHIP CAN HELP IF YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION, MILLER MOTORS IN BURLINGTON WI.
THE SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC WARNING LIGHT APPEARED ON THE VEHICLE CONSOLE, TURN INDICATORS WOULD NOT WORK WHILE VEHICLE WAS MOVING, OR STATIONARY. HIT THE OK BUTTON AS INDICATED ON THE VEHICLE CONSOLE, AND THE WARNING LIGHT WENT OFF. TURNED OFF VEHICLE AND AFTER RESTARTING THE VEHICLE AND DRIVING FORWARD THE SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC WARNING WENT OFF. DROVE TO A LOCAL LOWES STORE APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES AWAY. AFTER RETURNING TO THE VEHICLE AND PUTTING THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE, THE POWER STEERING WOULD NOT WORK AND A NEW WARNING APPEARED EPAS "ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST " FAIL AND THE SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC WARNING ALSO CAME ON. CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND WAS TOWED TO LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. SINCE THE VEHICLE IS A 2012 WITH 53,000 MILES IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY FROM FORD. I WAS VERY FORTUNATE THAT I WAS NOT DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON THE BUSY HIGHWAY "WILMA RUDOLPH BLVD." I HAD BEEN ON JUST A FEW MOMENTS PRIOR TO THE STEERING PROBLEM AS I AM SURE AN ACCIDENT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY HARD TO AVOID.

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.
OUR TRANSMISSION IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT THE RECALL MENTIONED. WE ARE TRAVELING WITH A 2 YEAR OLD AND I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT FORD DOES NOT HAVE A FIX TO THIS PROBLEM THIS USA VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHILE TRAVELING ON AN INTERSTATE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50 MPH, THE CONTACT FELT OIL DRIPPING UNDERNEATH THE DASHBOARD WITHOUT WARNING. THE DEALER WAS IN THE PROCESS OF DIAGNOSING THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 50MPH THERE IS AN APPARENT LOSS OF SIGNAL TO THE SPEEDOMETER FOLLOWED BY A SUDDEN DOWN SHIFT FROM 6TH TO 2ND CAUSING THE TRUCK TO NEARLY COME TO A HALT. HAPPENS VERY RANDOMLY AND INTERMITTENTLY. ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT A COUPLE OF TIMES. ON ONE OCCASION THE TRUCK WAS IN DRIVE, I WAS PRESSING THE ACCELERATOR AND THE TRUCK WOULD NOT GO ANY WHERE. PUT IT IN PARK AND TURNED IT OFF AND BACK ON AND THEN IT WAS FINE.
STUMBLE/MISFIRES AT SPEED CAUSING TRUCK TO LOSE SPEED RAPIDLY WHILE IN TRAFFIC, HAS BEEN AT A FORD DEALER UP TO A MONTH AT A TIME FOR REPAIRS AND THEY CANNOT SEEM TO FIX PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH FORD SINCE TUESDAY 3 MAY 2016AND THEY ASSIGNED A CASE NUMBER TO MY TRUCK CAS-9385544-N9C1Q6 CRM:01199000003347. SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN THROUGH FOUR DIFFERENT CUSTOMER REPRESENTATIVES AND THE TRUCK HAS BEEN AT THE DEALER ON AND OFF FOR OVER SIX WEEKS WITH THEM SAYING TRY THIS IT SHOULD BE OK NOW. I ALMOST ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS GOT REAR ENDED ON THE INTERSTATE WHEN THE ENGINE SHUTS DOWN AND SPEED DROPS TO ABOUT 40, THEN I HAVE TO GET ACROSS LANES TO THE SHOULDER LET THE TRUCK IDLE FOR ABOUT 5 MINUETS. THEN I CANNOT GET IT TO GO ABOVE 50MPH FOR ABOUT 10 MILES. I BOUGHT THIS F150 NEW IN 2012 IT HAS BEN DOING THIS SINCE I BOUGHT BUT NOT THIS BAD, I AM GETTING AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS TRUCK. CAN YOU LOOK INTO WHAT CAN BE DONE TO GET THIS TRUCK REPAIRED BY FORD. YOU ASK FOR DATE AND MILEAGE THE THIS HAPPENED, IT HAPPENS EVERY DAY SO I CANNOT ALL THAT INFORMATION, SO I ONLY PROVIDED THE LAST DAY I DROVE THIS TRUCK.
POWER STEERING WENT COMPLETELY OUT WHILE TRYING TO PARK AT WORK. NO WARNING AT ALL. FORD DOES NOT BACK THIS UP WITH A RECALL AS YET. COST 1772.29 TO REPAIR. HAD 93,217 MILES ON TRUCK.
I WAS DRIVING CLOSE TO 50 MPH ON A STREET AND THE TRUCK SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR WITHOUT WARNING. THE REAR WHEELS LOCKED UP AND WENT INTO A SKID. THE ENGINE REVVED TO THE REDLINE. AFTER SEVERAL SECONDS THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED BACK UP INTO A HIGHER GEAR AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. IT WAS A SPONTANEOUS PROBLEM AND HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO BE REPRODUCED. THESE SYMPTOMS ARE CONSISTENT WITH A RECALL ISSUED BY FORD FOR THE 2011-2012 F150'S WITH THE 6R80 TRANSMISSIONS, BUT MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. MY TRUCK'S BUILD DATE IS 8/29/2012. THE TRANSMISSION'S LEAD FRAME CONNECTOR WAS REPLACED BY THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, BUT THE SOFTWARE HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED AS PRESCRIBED IN THE RECALL.
MY F150 IS CONSTANTLY EXPERIENCING THE EXACT DANGEROUS MALFUNCTION THAT SAFETY RECALL 16S19 DESCRIBES. FORD IS NOT PROVIDING ANY RENTAL ASSISTANCE AND CURRENTLY DOES NOT KNOW WHEN A SOLUTION WILL BE AVAILABLE. MY TRANSMISSION WILL HAVE ISSUES SHIFTING TO THE NEXT GEAR, REV UP WAY FARTHER THAN NECESSARY TO SHIFT AND THEN STALL. I HAVE TO TURN OFF MY TRUCK AND TURN IT BACK ON SEVERAL TIMES TO GET RID OF THE ISSUE JUST TO GET ME TO MY DESTINATION. THIS OCCURS ON 50% OF MY DRIVES AROUND THE CITY. I WILL NOT DARE TAKE IT FURTHER THAN 10 MILES IN FEAR THAT I MIGHT BE STRANDED AND FORCED TO PAY FOR TOWING. FORD HAS ALSO TOLD ME I MUST PROVE SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY VEHICLE TO EVEN APPLY FOR A RENTAL. MY LOCAL FORD SERVICE IS NOT ABLE TO FIND ANYTHING WRONG BESIDES THE EXACT ISSUE I'M DESCRIBING. TWO OF THESE INCIDENTS WERE WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH ON TOLL 130 OUTSIDE OF CENTRAL TEXAS. THE LAST INCIDENT HAPPENED AUGUST 3, 2016 WHILE DRIVING IN A 45 MPH ZONE AND CURVE ON A CITY STREET.
THE SERVICE ADVANCETRAC WARNING LIGHT COMES ON AND THE BLINKERS WILL NOT FUNCTION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE UPDATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V248000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,000.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP OR SLOW ROLL, THE TRUCK WILL JERK HARD FEELING LIKE THE IT IS COMING FROM THE DRIVESHAFT. THERE IS NO COMMON CAUSE FOR THIS ISSUE SUCH AS GOING OVER A BUMP, ETC. BROUGHT TRUCK TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT WAS "LEAF SPRING SLAP" WHICH IT IS CLEAR UNDER THE TRUCK THAT THERE IS DEEP GROOVES ON THE DRIVE SHAFT, YOKE AREA. FORD DENIES THIS IS THE ISSUE. THIS HAPPENS 80% OF THE TIME THAT I ACCELERATE EITHER FROM A STOP OR SLOW MOVEMENT.
FOR THE SECOND TIME SINCE OWNING THE VEHICLE, WE HAVE GOTTEN A SERVICE CODE OF P0019, AND DURING THE TIME OF THE ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON, WE EXPERIENCED SEVERE LOSS OF POWER, TO THE POINT HAD TO PULL OFF OF THE SIDE ROAD, AFTER A FEW MINUTES, RESTARTED VEHICLE, IT WAS ABLE TO RESUME. TOOK TO DEALER, THEY SAID NO PROBLEM, BECAUSE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. NOW, FAST FORWARD ANOTHER TWO YEARS, AND 80,000 MILES, WITH NO MORE WARRANTY, SAME ISSUE HAS HAPPENED, MAJOR LOSS OF POWER WHILE ACCELERATING AND CAUSING THE ENTIRE TRUCK TO VIBRATE, THIS TIME, ENGINE LIGHT IS ON AND CODE P0018 AND P0019, BACK TO THE FORD DEALER, THEY MADE ME CHANGE THE TURBO SENSORS, CHARGED ME $900 AND STILL THE PROBLEM EXISTS. NOW THEY WANT TO CHANGE THE CAM SHAFTS AND TIMING CHAIN GUIDES, CHARGE ME ANOTHER $2,400, AND WILL NOT GUARANTEE THE ISSUE WILL BE RESOLVED. THERE MUST BE SOMETHING GOING ON HERE THAT AN ENGINE CANNOT LAST MORE THAN 85,000 BEFORE NEEDING MAJOR ENGINE WORK. NOW I FIND THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS AS IT RELATES TO THE ECOBOOST ENGINE, AND FORD IS UNWILLING TO STAND BEHIND THEIR POOR QUALITY PRODUCT AND THAT BUILT FORD TOUGH MEANS ONLY DURING THE 36,000 MILE WARRANTY. AMAZING THAT A $40,000 VEHICLE, CAN'T EVEN MAKE IT TO 100,000 MILES.
AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY EVEN AFTER AN ACCIDENT INVOLVING FRONT OF TRUCK . FRAME OF TRUCK HAD TO BE RE-ALIGNED BUT AIBAGS DIDN'T DEPLOY. AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN ON/OFF SINCE I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE AND IT DOES NOT STAY ON CONSTANTLY
RATTLE IN STEERING, CAN BE FELT IN STEERING WHEEL. CAN BE FELT MOSTLY WHEN GOING IN A STRAIGHT LINE. VEHICLE DOES NOT HAVE TO BE ON ROUGH ROAD TO FEEL AND HEAR RATTLE. PURCHASED VEHICLE USED, BUT THIS PROBLEM IS REPORTED BY MANY OWNERS!

A TICKING/KNOCKING NOISE ON PASSENGER SIDE OF ENGINE. TOOK TO FORD DEALER WITH 52,905 MILES ON 7/12/16 AND STATED FUEL INJECTOR NOISE. TOOK TO SAME FORD DEALER ON 11/7/18 FOR SAME NOISE, ONLY LOUDER, AND DEALER DETECTED NO UNUSUAL NOISE. TOOK TO DIFFERENT DEALER A 3RD TIME ON 3/27/19 FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AND STATED "NOISE FOUND TO BE NORMAL CHARACTERISTICS" AND WAS GIVEN A COPY OF "SPECIAL SERVICE MESSAGE 47787 WHICH ADDRESSED A "TICK TAP AND/OR TYPEWRITER NOISE AT IDLE" ISSUE. THIS PROBLEM WAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF FORD WHILE IT WAS STILL UNDER MANUFACTURES WARRANTY AND THE SOUND IS ONLY GETTING WORSE WHICH IS WHY I KEEP TAKING IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP. THE SOUND IS NOT HEARD WHEN THE VEHICLE IS FIRST STARTED, ONLY WHEN IT STARTS TO WARM UP AND IS QUITE LOUD AT AN IDLE. IF THIS ENGINE WERE TO BLOW UP GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR INTERSTATE COULD POTENTIALLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT RESULTING IN INJURY AND/OR FATAL CRASH.

2012 F150 XLT SUPER CREW THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR HANDLES ARE INOPERATIVE. THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE HANDLES DO NOT OPEN THE DOOR. THE LOCK ACTUATOR/LATCH ARE ONE COMPLETE ASSEMBLY AND APPEAR TO BE STUCK WHICH MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO GET THE DOOR OPEN. THE DOOR CURRENTLY DOES NOT WORK.

AFTER NUMEROUS RETURNS TO COVERT DUE TO THE RECURRENCE OF THE SAME ISSUE , WE TOOK THE TRUCK ON AN EXTENDED VACATION TO THE MOUNTAINS WHERE THE TRUCK STARTED TO LOSE POWER ON INCLINES (THE SAME PROBLEM AS BEFORE). WE HAD THE TRUCK TOWED TO DURANGO, CO TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP. THE DURANGO DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGED THAT IT NEEDED A NEW LEADFRAME, SOMETHING WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN CAUGHT BY THE AUSTIN DEALERSHIP A LONG TIME AGO. COVERT (THE AUSTIN DEALERSHIP) DID INSTALL A TSB COMPONENT, BUT THE OLDER RECALLED VERSION OF IT, WHICH IS WHY THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. WE HAVE BEEN WAITING THREE DAYS AND 800 MILES FROM HOME FOR THE NEW VERSION OF THE LEAD FRAME TO ARRIVE AND BE INSTALLED BY THE DURANGO DEALERSHIP. COVERT FORD (IN AUSTIN, TX) GROSSLY MISHANDLED THIS FROM THE VERY BEGINNING WITH THEIR INCOMPETENCE AND LACK OF ACKNOWLEDGING THE SERVICE BULLETIN, WHICH WE BROUGHT TO THEIR ATTENTION FROM THE VERY BEGINNING!!! "SERVICE ADVANCETRAC" LIGHT. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM REPORTED ON MANY WEB FORUMS. A SENSOR IN THE STEERING RACK IS NOT ABLE TO DETERMINE THE DIRECTION THAT THE WHEELS ARE POINTING AND GENERATES THE ALARM. THE INDICATORS WILL NOT WORK WHILST THE ALARM IS ON UNLESS THE STALK IS HELD IN PLACE. THE ERROR CAN SOMETIMES BE RESET BUT RESTARTING THE CAR BUT NOT ALWAYS. THIS DEFICIENCY IS WELL KNOW BY FORD AND MANY DEALERS YET FORD REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM WITH A TSB OR RECALL ACTION. THE SENSOR CAN NOT BE CHANGED SO THE ENTIRE STEERING RACK ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AT OVER $1500. I HAVE JUST TRIED TO WORK WITH A FORD CSM TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED ON MY OUT OF WARRANTY TRUCK BUT WAS TOLD THAT "THERE ARE NO PROGRAMS IN PLACE TO HELP ME". THIS IS EITHER POORLY DESIGNED PART AND/OR A EARLY COMPONENT FAILURE. 2011/2012 WAS ONE OF THE FIRST YEARS THAT FORD INSTALLED THE EPS UNIT IN THE F150'S.
DRIVING TRUCK AT 65 PLUS MILES PER HOUR ON INTERSTATE AND VEHICLE STALLED OUT LOST POWER STEERING AND BRAKES AND WAS TOO CLOSE TO HAVING AN ACCIDENT. LATER FOUND OUT THAT FUSE 27 HAD MELTED AND LOST ALL FUEL PUMP PRESSURE.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2012 F-150EB, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST QUIT WORKING IN THE MIDDLE OF A TURN IN A PARKING GARAGE. I HAD TO PUT ALL 180 LBS OF MY WEIGHT INTO THE STEER IN ORDER TO AVOID A CONCRETE STANCHION, 2 PEDESTRIANS AND ANOTHER VEHICLE. HAD MY WIFE BEEN DRIVING, THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A FATALITY. FORD CORP. CLAIMS THEY KNOW OF NO PROBLEMS WITH THE STEERING ON THIS VEHICLE. HOWEVER, I HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON LINE CITING THE SAME PROBLEM/ISSUES. DIAGNOSIS WAS "POWER STEERING ELECTRIC MOTOR FAILURE" AND REPAIR COST IS $2,200.00.
NOTICED SMALL AMOUNT OF COOLANT ON THE GROUND. STARTED TO NOTICE OVER THE NEXT COUPLE DAYS LARGER AMOUNTS OF COOLANT AFTER DRIVING. TOOK TRUCK INTO DEALER AND THE WATER PUMP HAD ALREADY GONE BAD. WAS UNDER WARRANTY SO IT WAS REPLACED FOR FREE.
2012 F150 ECOBOOST REAR POWER WINDOW SHATTERED SPONTANEOUSLY AFTER TURNING ON DEFROST. VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AT THE TIME AND HAS 38,000 MILES ON IT. FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS REFUSED ANY COMPENSATION FOR THIS KNOWN PROBLEM DOCUMENTED BY MULTIPLE OTHER FORD F150 OWNERS. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP DOCUMENTED AND PHOTOGRAPHED THE SHATTERED WINDOW. I WILL BE OUT OF POCKET $1000 TO REPAIR THIS. TIME FOR FORD MOTOR CO TO ADMIT A PROBLEM HERE AND ISSUE A RECALL.
I WAS DRIVING MY PICKUP DOWN A GRAVEL ROAD GOING ABOUT 55 MPH WHEN IT SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR AND THE BRAKES LOCKED UP. THIS HAPPENED IN JUNE AND THERE IS STILL NO FIX FROM FORD MOTOR COMPANY. I AM IN COLLEGE NOW AND DON'T TRUST THIS VEHICLE GOING DOWN INTERSTATE. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. WE TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. AFTER DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM FOR 4 MONTHS, THIS IS GETTING FLAT OUT RIDICULOUS. THESE VEHICLES AFFECTED ARE DANGEROUS AND IT SHOULDN'T TAKE THIS LONG TO GET FIXED. WE HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN NOTIFIED BY FORD ABOUT THE RECALL.
