The problem is when driving the vehicle losses power , service icon come on , but all the instruments go blank including speed , oil pressure, fuel . the vehicle accelaration does not work proper, it feels like it get stuck on high gear. unable to accelerate rapidly. when checked for codes not codes indicated. then when i turn the vehicle off and restart it , everything start to work proper.
Vehicle coolant leaks in large quantities from rubber seals in a tee connection fitting near the water pump. This type of coolant leak could cause engine failure while in operation and an accident.
The transmission is downshifting going down the road causing us and the drivers behind us danger of a very bad wreck When it does this the engine light comes on throwing a code PO720 the powertrain control module output speed sensor. I've read online about the 2011 to 2013 f150 with 6speed transmission had a recall due to the transmission may unexpectedly downshift into first gear regardless of the vehicle speed and this is what my is doing!! Can you tell me how to have mine put on this recall that came out? My truck has only 72,000 on it and I bought new. 19s07 and 19n01

Power steering has been going out when the weather is extremely cold causing me to loose control of the truck and run off the road almost wrecking the truck the power steering returns after the weather warms up. This was very scary and very dangerous. Luckily I was going slow
rear window shattered while parked.. big bang and shattered window... ive seen many other reports with the same problem. due to maybe rear window defrost.

I pulled in to traffic and all of a sudden the truck went into limp mode. I barely missed being hit. I pulled up on the median strip with cars going 60 MPH past me. I parked the truck for 30 minutes. The wrench light came on. After sitting for 30 minutes the check engine light came on. I edged off the median and limped the truck to the next exit for a mechanic. The mechanic pulled the code P2112 Throttle Actuator Control System Stuck Closed. This was incredibly dangerous and I could have been hit. In checking on line, it appears to be a common problem that FORD knows about and it should be a recall!!
The 19N01 safety recall -Lead Frame for transmission relacement part for 13' F-150. Ford has NO IDEA WHEN THE PART WILL BE IN STOCK, In taking my vehicle to dealership, they confirmed it needs to be replaced, however- I'm shit out of Luck for an expected ship date. The part is simply on back order. UNACCEPTABLE !!!!! My dealership stated the only reason they we're familiar with it was because they just had a F-150 come out of shop after 8 MONTHS !!!! Are you kidding me, Who can allow their vehicle to be out of service for that Long.??? not I- I need contact info for someone at FORD to be able to lite a fire under someone- This is ridiculous. TY Mr Shreve
sitting in truck that was off and heard a loud crack. looked around and the rear drivers side window was shattered. nothing hit it and defrost was not on. just shattered for no reason. 30 degree F out
Truck downshifts too low gear while driving at highway speeds. Speedometer goes to zero and RPMs run high. Ford has a voluntary recall in place to replace the lead frame in the transmission, but the part is on back order and dealership has no idea how long it will take to receive the part. Ford refuses to provide loaner vehicle or reimburse for rental car. My truck has been at dealer awaiting part for over a month, but many others have been waiting for much longer.
My 2013 Ford F150 has been throwing wrench light while downshifting automatically. for months. Then I lose my speedometer and the airbag light illuminates. I also have had random downshifting that causes a lock up in the back end (basically giving the feeling of slamming on the breaks). I took my vehicle in to Ford dealership on 12/8/22 and they did states that it was part of the 19N01 lead frame recall. My truck was at around 104,000 miles. I have called multiple times with no luck on when part will be available. I have no other vehicle to drive and ford has not offered any type of resolution. After having the rear end lock up multiple times I am concerned to continue driving the vehicle. I am also very concerned with what kind of other damage all this erratic downshifting is doing to my vehicle, especially the automatic transmission.
While operating this vehicle on 12/2/2022 at freeway speeds (55-60 MPS) in morning rush hour traffic, the truck exhibited a sudden and immediate downshift of the transmission from 5th to 1st gear. This caused my back tires to lock up and begin to slide, which caused me to momentarily lose control of the vehicle. The issue appears to be loss of communication with the speed sensor that selects and moves the gears. This nearly caused an accident in morning rush hour traffic as I lost control of the vehicle. This issue appears to be related to Ford Recall@ 19S07, and I reached out to my dealership on 12/2/2022 and was told that they would research and call me back. On 12/5/2022 I called the Ford Recall/Customer service line for more information. At that time, I was told it had already been serviced and they only stand behind the recall work for 12 months and to "keep my receipts since there was a pending NHTSA legal action" for potential reimbursement.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 50 MPH, the brake pedal was stiff while depressed and failed to stop the vehicle immediately. The failure caused all four tires to lock up. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, no cause of failure was found. The dealer replaced the brake master cylinder, brake lines, and brake booster; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
2013 Ford F150 in the past week has experienced sudden downshift with speedometer dropping to 0 with electronics failing in the vehicle while being operated. I started to research and there was not an official recall but instead treated as a Customer satisfaction program 19N01. I have never received any emails thru the ford app, although my email is registered, never had this brought to my attention by any of the Ford dealers while they were performing routine maintenance. I immediately took the truck to the dealer where it was purchased at Preston Ford, Denton MD. I have been advised that there was a warranty extension done until 10 tears or 150,000 miles. My vehicle currently has 155K miles. I was advised on 12/5 that they will not cover the normally $1200 repair because of the mileage, even though I wasn't provided an explanation why I was not notified. Then I was told due to supply chain issues, Ford is unable to get the lead frame, so they have to order a whole new valve body for $1900.00 if I would like the truck to be repaired. This is my daily vehicle. How is it that an issue that causes a sudden stop, which could lead to collisions and has also been known to shift in reverse not an actual recall since lives are in danger? This should be a true recall and Ford needs to fix. This issue shouldn't have a mileage constraint on it. A serious driving hazard should be rectified regardless of how many miles a vehicle has.
The vehicle drops out of gear unexpectedly. Has interrupted the operation of the vehicle on the highway and city streets. Have had to move to the side of the highway or street to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was submitted to the dealership for inspection and repairs. Several images were provided the dealership of failure indicators that were presented on the dash panel.

The Police patrol that was parked nearby the contact verified that he had not sustained any injuries. There was no police report filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion had seized while driving. Additionally, it was diagnosed that the electric steering motor had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 14V316000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000. The contact stated that they are waiting for the repair for the dent in the fender caused by the accident.

The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle; however, the vehicle would not exceed 5 MPH while driving. The vehicle was driven to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission molded lead frame had failed and needed to be replaced. The independent mechanic informed the contact that the failure was related to Ford Campaign Number: 19N01. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that there was no availability for the vehicle repair and the part was on back order. The contact contacted a second dealer, Ford's Garage Plano (3904 Dallas Pkwy, Plano, TX 75093) who advised as the first dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.
There was no warning prior to this failure. Went to crank the vehicle on a cold morning recentlyand shifted to reverse to back up and my power steering failed. After a couple hours and a warmer temp., this issue resolved itself. Next morning battery was dead. replaced battery. Next cold morning. the vehicle cranked fine, but the steering was failing again. Called dealership, they bring in for a checkup, a week down the road, Bought this truck brand new and only have approx., 22,000 miles on it. Have saw many complaints with this problem on the computer. This is not isolated incidents for this paricular year model. No recalls for this year model has not been issued, I understand Ford did a recall on 2014 year model.. This is a very serious situation and needs rectification. Also a very expensive out of pocket for me. Please get ford to issue a recall on this mode, be fore I have a very serious accident. Thanxs David.
When attempting to coast to a stop at slow speeds the throttle stays up and even causes the truck to accelerate at times. The truck will shift hard randomly. The truck appears to get stuck in a high gear and loses power to accelerate, at times. Driving at highway speeds the truck loses power. A mechanic shop pulled codes p0720 and P0722. The mechanic shop referred me to the dealer because the codes were under an extended warranty for a recall 16s19-supplement #1. The dealer reported that they did not pull any codes off the truck except finding erratic misfires. The dealer reported that the truck engine light has to come on for them to read a code. They reported they can not order the lead frame part until they pull a code off the truck. They also report the part is on back order with no ETA. The trucks wrench light continues to come on but not engine light. An auto body shop was able to pull P0720 code off my truck without the engine light coming on. Ford has not returned my calls.
While driving around 70mph on the highway, the truck suddenly down shifted into 1st gear causing the tires to lock up and the truck to veer off the road to the shoulder. After slowing down for a second the truck began shifting normal again
My truck will randomly start driving in third gear or shift to third gear while driving and stick. It will also hard shift from third to fourth. There have been few instances where it downshifted to first gear.
My truck will downshift to 1st gear while driving and sometimes starts or sticks in 3rd gear. I have called dealership but they say my truck isn’t in recall. This has happened numerous times to the point it’s not safe to drive. I’ve had it towed already.
So the safety recall dealing with the (OSS) I just had done. However, the 0720 or 0702 issue that Ford has implemented an Extended warranty on the Transmission Lead Frame is a fatality waiting to happen. This is every bit a safety hazard as the down shift issue. This issue causes your speedometer to go dead, all of your gauges except the gas to go negative and your gears will go from 1st to 3rd, or 1st to 5th. The issue with this, I cant count how many times I've been at a stop sign or light, waiting to pull into traffic when I have an opportunity , I pull out and my truck just Boggs down because it has shifted from 1st to 5th from a dead stop... now, I've pulled out into traffic with traffic approaching at speed and instead of being able to get up to speed myself I'm a sitting duck! This is crazy, you never know when it's gonna happen, but it happens to me at least 3-6 times a trip. Now I just had the recall updated today, but when they ran the diagnostics to confirm I have the 0702 issue and they can fix it under the extended warranty, the part is anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months out. LOL. That's rediculous. I clearly can't go that long without my vehicle. And Ford isn't gonna give any sort of compensation for a loaner car or rental car for this issue. So I'm stuck driving a vehicle that is a major safety factor everytime I'm on the road. If I could guarantee it wouldn't hurt anyone else, i wish I would get in an accident. Then we could hold Ford accountable for this safety issue. And with the mass numbers of consumers on line that say they're having this same issue, you'd think Ford could get the part out quicker. There are a lot of people with this same issue. I'd be crazy to think it hasn't yet cause major accidents! Class action law suit, I don't know what our options are, but I've tweeted Ford, and called corporate and they aren't doing anything other than the extended waranty. Took me nearly 2 months for a dealer to even get me in for the SAFTEY recall! SMH
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle shifted gear and failed to accelerate. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was able to pull over on the side of the road and waited until the vehicle cooled down. The contact was then able to drive the vehicle home. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and the mechanic stated that the lead frame needed to be replaced, and the PCM needed to be reprogrammed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 94,350.
The contact owns a Ford . The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph the vehicle jerked, when decelerated at 30 mph it jerked again. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission lead frame needed to be replaced. The local dealer was notified of the failure and an appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised to call the NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 165,000.
I have 2013 Ford f150 Fx4 Ecoboost 140,000miles on it. While driving my truck will unexpectedly downshift while I'm trying to accelerate so I took it to Ford dealership because recall mentioned a sudden downshift to first gear which is what my truck was doing but after taking it to the dealership to be repaired the problem has gotten worse and now when I try to accelerate the rpms go up but my truck doesn't respond even when I push the pedal all the way to the floor it happens at least once a day now. Today I was attempting to cross the opposite lane when my pedal stopped responding and had the oncoming vehicles been any closer there would of been a head on accident, this puts my safety at risk as well as my daughter's and other drivers. although I had to bring it in for it to be fixed and they say they fixed it the problem continues so to me I would say yes it's been confirmed by a dealer and inspected, and supposedly repaired or reprogrammed, but if you would like to inspect it or confirm anything be my guest, I video of it suddenly downshifting but cannot attach it because the file is to large so I took screenshots of the video the first pic at 21sec in it's in 4th gear 2nd pic at 25 sec in shows it downshift to 1st 3rd pic at 30 sec in shows it jumping up to 6th
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the transmission failed to shift into gear and the vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road, turned off, and restarted after a while, and the transmission shifted properly. The contact used a scanner to reset the system, and the transmission shifted properly while driving approximately 50 - 60 MPH. The speedometer rose to 100 MPH, then 0 MPH unexpectedly, with the power train warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and was diagnosed with transmission failure. The dealer completed a system update. The failure persisted and became progressively worse. The vehicle was returned to the dealer, who determined that the leadframe was defective, causing the transmission failure. The dealer informed the contact that the repair was not covered under warranty because the vehicle had exceeded 6,000 miles. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.
The molded lead frame on the assembly on the transmission burned back causing transmission to be stuck in 5th gear. I had to have replaced the molded lead frame along with the valve body, only because the molded lead frame was 2 to 3 months out. I then looked up and seen a tsb of 13-6-8 bulletin affecting my truck .Was wondering if I could get reimbursed for the molded lead frame. The warning signs were a wrench sign, then no speedometer , dashes on the mileage, stuck in 5th gear. Along with the seat belt reminder on.The truck was repaired at a auto shop.
I was backing into my parking spot at work and my dash dinged and the red brake system warning flashed on my dash, I couldn't push my brake pedal down, lost my brakes. This was very scary. I have lost them before, but not as bad as this time. They didn't come back this time. I am so glad I was in a parking lot and not around other cars.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 30 MPH, the speedometer became inoperable, and the vehicle downshifted to 3rd gear unintendedly. The air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact pulled to the side of the road. The dealer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to turned off and restart the vehicle. The contact stated that he followed the dealer's instructions; however, the failure recurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the failure was related to Ford Campaign Number: 19N01; however, the part was on backorder. The contact stated that the campaign later expired, and he was informed that the repair could no longer be covered. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
On October 16, 2022 I was driving at a speed of 45mph. the 2013 F150 changed gears by itself. I maintained control and drove the vehicle home. i got on my computer and looked up the issue to see if others had experienced this and found out there is a recall. Never heard about it until then. I took to the dealership this morning 10/17 and they say they reprogrammed the pcm. Picked up the truck and driving out of the parking lot, the truck did the same thing, only worse. NOW they tell me the truck needs a transmission molded lead frame. BUT they don't have that in stock and it is backordered. They said i needed a transmission diagnostic. i refused that and told them there were no problems until the 16th and now since they supposedly fixed it the problem became worse. Then they said well there is one more thing but we have to hook it us to the computer and it had to show some codes before they could replace that part. it didn't show the codes. I had read about that and told them sometimes codes show and sometimes they don't. I told them to drive the truck and tell me it is fixed They drove it and it had the issue. Mechanic saw the wrench on the dash, tested and the code came up. then he said the truck needed the part. Dealer has the complete part in stock (the molded lead frame with another piece on it) they will charge $1100. I have no choice now but to get it replaced. I need the truck. they had the audacity to call me and tell me they needed to replace the transmission fluid filter, but it would be another $279. Since the didn't have the original part that is warrantied, they should have thrown in the filter. I called a mechanic friend of mine and he said decline the filter. they are just trying to get money out of you. This is really the first issue I have had with the vehicle. I hope this fixes the problem. Ford needs to do something more extensively about this problem before someone is killed.
Transmission malfunction. Ford extended the warranty on the Transmission Lead Frame due to issues with unanticipated downshifting at highway speeds and being locked in first gear. My truck was inspected on October 13th, 2022 by Ford and determined to need this repair. After over three months of waiting the part is still not available. This is a major safety risk since the vehicle may rapidly slow due to downshifting or may not accelerate normally to blend in with traffic. Ford will give me no date as to part availability.
01 Apr 22, vehicle was received from Penske Ford after coolant leak to include scheduled maintenance such as engine oil and filter change, engine air filter, transfer case fluid change, drive belt, front differential fluid change and lastly the transmission fluid and filter change. Mileage in was at 156877 and mileage out from the services was 156879. Approximately 6,000 miles added from the mileage counter, the vehicle experienced sudden downshift with speedometer dropping to zero and passenger airbag caution illuminated on the dashboard. Upon reading the code via the OBD2 code reader, the following DTC were noted: p0720 output shaft speed sensor circuit; p0722 Output Shaft speed sensor circuit no signal; U0401:00-0B Invalid Data received from ECM/PCM A; B00A0:68-8B - Occupant Classification System; U0401:68-0B Invalid data received from ECM/PCM A; U0401:00-0A. Safety risk was the sudden down shift while going at normal speed or flow of traffic. Sudden downshift can result into a rear end collision. The vehicle has not been inspected since the malfunction however, through research of TSB 19N01 and contacting the dealership, it was determined that the extended warranty did not apply due to the mileage exceeded the 150,000 therefore I ended up buying and fixing my own vehicle with current mileage of 163421.4 at completion. This vehicle was also recalled for 19NS19 because of 6R80 transmission. I am unsure if this warrants another recall however, it is my belief that it should be looked at again.
This is a duplicate report. Not sure prior report was transmitted. Average traffic and a clear day with a dry road (Interstate highway), while driving at the posted speed limit of 70mph with cruise-control engaged, the 6-speed automatic transmission suddenly downshifted to a lower gear (See NHTSA Campaign ID: 19V075000). The downshift caused the vehicle to slow with a rough and sudden jerk which could have resulted in loss of vehicle control. All dashboard instrumentation, except for the tachometer, stopped functioning. There were no 'warnings' previous to this failure. After shutting the engine down then restarting, the engine and transmission seem to operate normal. Have taken vehicle to local Ford dealer where the failure was confirmed, but the dealer has yet to perform any fix though the problem is covered by Ford Recall #19S07. The problem has not reappeared as of this date. No inspections have been conducted since the vehicle was observed at local Ford dealer on October 13th. Today's date is November 18th, week number six since the Ford dealer first had knowledge of the problem.
While traveling at highway speeds the vehicle unexpectedly downshifts to 1st gear causing the vehicles wheels to lock up which results in a total loss of control of the vehicle. Other times the vehicle will fail to shift/ accelerate when the gas pedal is depressed, which is certainly a safety concern when it happens while attempting to merge into traffic. At the same time the speedometer guage needle will drop to zero mph. The speedometer will only work again after the vehicle is shut off and restarted. Another huge safety hazard is that occasionally when the gas pedal is released the vehicle will continue to accelerate on its own for a short period of time.
The 2013 Ford F-150 had an issue with the transmission randomly shifting while driving. Ford issues a Customer Satisfaction Program, 19B05 to attempt to address through reprogramming. It was later followed up by a Safety Recall 19S19 and supplemental 19S07 to expand the recall. It appears the issue was never resolved and later Ford issue another supplement #3 in their customer satisfaction program 19N01 to actually replace a component called the Transmission Molded Leadframe assembly and also extended the coverage. My truck had several instances of random down shifting while driving so upon taking to the dealer it was found to be part of this Customer Satisfaction Program. The part has been on order for about 9 months and no resolution in sight. Ford has said that since this is part of the Customer Satisfaction Program, and not a Recall, that they are not obligated to provide any other assistance. As a daily driver I cannot count on the truck to be safely driven but have little option. I've had numerous instances of random shifting at highway speeds leading to temporary and sudden issues with control of this 6,000lb vehicle. On some occasions after stopping at an intersection and then accelerating into traffic it will not have shifted into 1st so while accelerating into traffic I'm left not able to move quickly with other drivers taking evasive action to avoid hitting me. I don't know how to elevate this as a priority with Ford to secure parts and get these trucks fixed in a timely manner or offer other options for loan vehicles before someone gets hurt.
