Transmission shifts from 5th or 6th down to 1st gear. This has happened twice in the past month. This is extremely dangerous especially at highway speeds, which i was. When this issue happened my truck went from 70 mph to about 15 mph.
Rear windows shattered and I have no idea why.Drove to work and mid afternoon noticed both back windows were shattered when I went out to my truck.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would independently downshift with the powertrain malfunction symbol on the instrument panel. The vehicle would then enter limp mode as the vehicle would stall upon depression of the accelerator pedal. The contact restarted the vehicle several times and the vehicle resumed normal functionality. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the contact was informed that the vehicle had to remain at the dealer for 3-months before the vehicle could be serviced. The contact then took the vehicle to Astro Lincoln (6350 Pensacola Blvd, Pensacola, FL 32505) where the vehicle was serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V433000 (Power Train) however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the RPMs suddenly increased, and the instrument cluster went blank. The contact stated that the vehicle experienced hard shifting between the first and second gear. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who replaced the power train lead frame, but the hard downshifting continued. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who diagnosed that the transmission valve body was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The failure mileage was 57,500.
Orange wrench symbol showed up, transmission shifted from 6 to 1 all of a sudden. Nearly crash the truck trying to stop on highway. Loss of power as the truck went into limp mode. Turned vehicle off and restarted a few minutes later and everything erased and the vehicle drove fine again. Checked for recalls and a csp came up unfortunately my vehicle is over the extend millage coverage by Ford so now I'm afraid to drive it. Many post on forums claim there is no fix that's 100% in correcting the problem. So repairing it out of pocket may not resolve it anyway. Ford is fully aware of the problem but should be listed as a recall with no millage limit.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the vehicle down shifted and decelerated, and the power train malfunction warning light illuminated. The contact pulled over and waited until the vehicle cooled down. Once the contact restarted the vehicle, the vehicle started to operate normally. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the powertrain control module (PCM) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however, no failure was found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 37,000.
Ford Motor Corp not repairing warranty part under Field Service Action Number:19N01. Ford customer care [XXX] does nothing to rectify problem. Ford case #[XXX]. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
My truck randomly downshifts while driving. I took my truck to fix a downshifting recall that should have taken care of this dangerous problem and it has yet to be resolved. I called corporate Ford and a local Ford dealer and was told I needed to pay $140 fee in order for my car to be checked considering the recall apparently was taken care of. In the system it shows it was taken care of but there is clearly a problem if the truck is doing exactly what the recall was supposed to prevent. This is our daily vehicle and it frightens my wife to drive it. This happens on a daily occasion.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently downshifted without warning. The contact stated that the speedometer registered zero however, the RPM revved extremely high. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer but was not diagnosed. The contact stated that the vehicle would be taken to a different dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000.
While driving at 45 to 50 mph, my vehicle suddenly downshifted to first gear, causing my rear drive wheels to momentarily lock up and skid and my engine to rev to approximately 6,000 RPM. To avoid a collision and engine damage, I was forced to shift my vehicle into neutral and coast to a stop on a heavily trafficked, four-lane highway. Thankfully, I was able to avoid a collision, I turned my ignition off and back on, and was able to carefully drive to a safe location. This known problem was supposed to have been fixed under a prior recall (19V075000), for which I had the service completed, but clearly Ford's fix did not correct the problem. I took my vehicle to a local dealership for repair, but, as service technicians were unable to replicate the issue and the incident left no trouble codes in the vehicle's computer, have refused to repair the problem. Prior to this incident, I had intermittently experienced an issue where the vehicle seemed to have been unable to ascertain vehicle speed, during which warning icons illuminated and both the speedometer and odometer malfunctioned, showing no readings. The dealership technicians likewise were unable to find a fault.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving 10 MPH, the steering wheel inadvertently locked up. The Service Advance Trac and Power Steering Fault warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle has not been diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 190,000.
recently purchased this vehicle only to discover that it has a stretched timing chain(noise). Research shows that this has been an ongoing issue with Ford. I'd like to know if Ford has a plan in place to issue a recall notice to fix?
The vehicle automatically downshifted from drive to a lower gear -1st or 2nd- not sure which. This has happened 3 times in the past approx. 2 months. When this happens the RPM gauge goes to 3.5 to 4 and the speedometer stays on zero. The first two times this happened, I was able to stop the vehicle, put in park, turn the engine off, restart and proceed as if nothing happened. Yesterday, 2/22/2022 the same thing happened again and the vehicle stayed in the lower gear. I have taken the vehicle to a local shop which has Ford diagnostic software and they indicate that a module that sends signals to the transmission is faulty. We are waiting on a part from Ford in order to hopefully fix the problem. Is this a recall issue with Ford?
I was driving on a cold morning and turned on the rear defrost on back window. The window exploded and shattered. Nothing hit the window only the activation of the defrost control. The issue is that I thought someone shot at me. Could have caused an accident and I'm glad my kids weren't in the back. Several others have complained of this happening found here: https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://na2.documents.adobe.com/public/esign?tsid=CBFCIBAA3AAABLblqZhBi2sKT8kHKR2dVwWahetRcpYfMI2zeGQTS6VmNcTay5AowW5wyN0xFDVsdp574jhTK0rROeQf5ahG9zfQvvwrk&__;!!NoSwA-eRAg!XLiAEfNB2Zvs_6PIZ6Gemp0S1Z_diUhk-wnZ30T9JgbPZbkVUSkK7517boFEbR8F$
The lead frame made the truck go from 6th to 1st on the high way got it into the dealership and ford said eventhough we know it's our fault we are not fixing it for you. And it destroyed the transmission and it needs rebuild and have to pay outta pocket for factory issues
While driving my 2013 F150 my transmission shifted down to 3rd gear, my odometer went blank and the speedometer stopped working. The truck would only shift from 3rd gear to 5th gear. Research shows this to be a common problem with a "Lead Frame Harness". Leading to a very dangerous situation if traveling at a high rate of speed when the transmission downshifts on its own!
I was turning into gas station when I applied brakes to turn, power steering quit working and brakes, luckily there was no one exiting or i would have crashed into them. I was able to muscle steering wheel to make the turn. I then muscled steering wheel to a parking spot where brakes began to work. Dash board read check advance track there were no check engine lights or warning prior to turning. I then shut off vehicle then turned back on and it ran fine but drove with caution. This has happened 2 other times where power steering has feld but came back suddenly but this time on 2/11/22 I had no power steering at all for at least 60 to 70 feet. I have not had a mechanic or dealership look at because I don't know when it will happen its more of a hit and miss. The fact that there's no check engine light or warning lights on I believe any diagnostics would not show anything wrong.
Fluid leak, brake light on dash and chime. Possible hydraulic fluid leak feom master cylinder.
While driving the dash lit up power steering failure and the power steering went out causing temporary loss of control of the vehicle. The first incident was a week prior when there seemed to be a temporary loss of power steering. After inspection and tighening of connectors by a mechanic, the problem seemed to go away until to day when I had a total failure.
Warped exhaust manifold. Ford needs to go on line and see how many models are having the same issue. This repair cost 2400.00 for turbo. I have poor gas mileage, poor exclamation, exhaust leak into cabin causing drowsiness..Please help all of us Ford owners
I lose all brake pressure driving at certian times. my brakes 100% of the time make this horrible grinding noise and I lose braking power after going from drive to reverse. I always end up getting a check brake system warning message. There is a recall for the vacuum pump and for a seal that is bad but I'm not included since my vehicles manufacturer date is 2/13 and not 8/13. I feel like this is wrong and not fair
Was stopped at a red light, when my brake pedal suddenly went to the floor and the truck started moving forward toward the car stopped in front of me. Drove around the car and pulled off to the side. Tested it and found the brakes slowly stopped the truck if I pumped them. Got the truck home and found no leaks in any of the brake lines, wheel cylinders or master cylinder. Checked on line and found many others with the same problem; many of whom were not covered in Certain 2013-2014 Model Year Ford F-150 trucks equipped with 3.5L Ecoboost Engines, Brake Master Cylinder Replacement recall #16S24, as mine was also not covered.
I was going to work @9:00am @45mph all of sudden the truck shifted in to 1st gear causing a sudden a loud pop and felt like I got hit from the back , I was not hurt but this happened twice since I I own the truck ( I’ve purchased the truck brand new in 2013 . “ just imagine if I was in freeway going high rated speed and this would happen certain I wouldn’t be here to tell about it, so please investigate into this matter it’s a death risk. Thanks
Warning lights and issues: 1.) ABS WARNING LIGHT ON 2.) Service advancetrac light on 3.) wrench light shows up and miles gauge stops working 4.) truck is driving strangely gets stuck and kicks when speed up 5.) Truck RPM gauge goes crazy and truk tries to speed up by itself
While driving the truck will shift gears and get stuck in gears, particularly first gear. When stuck RMP's rev high and cause the truck to lurch forward even when foot is on the brake. Speedometer goes to 0 even while driving. Truck can switch to manual gear, but will only allow to go to 3rd gear and no higher. Putting truck in park and shutting it off will sometimes reset and allow to get back on the road. Other times it will stay stuck in first gear. I believe this is an issue with the lead frame. Our safety was put at risk as we tried to take off from a stop light and the truck would not shift out first. The lurching almost made me hit the person in front of me and the person behind me almost hit me as the truck was lurching forward. Any higher speed would have surely caused an accident. Truck has been take to a Ford dealership service center. There is a CSP from Ford on the lead frame of the truck with our VIN number but because no code has been recorded, Ford will not fix the issue under the CSP. We have not had any warning lamps or messages before, during, or after the issue occurs. Ford needs to acknowledge that the problem with the lead frame does not always produce a an error code. They need to replace all the lead frames in the affected vehicles if it demonstrates these issues immediately to keep drivers safe. Error code should not be the only determining factor of fixing this issue as it is obvious that they don't occur in every case and driver are in serious danger.
When traveling I’m hears 3-6, the vehicle with downshift to 1st gear and decrease speed.
Lug nuts are swollen dealership wants 192 to replace with same ones the are defective replaced once already they won't do a tire rotation due to the lug nuts
Driving along and it would not go above 2rd gear. then the "wrench" light came on and truck went into limp mode. The truck wouldn't go over 20 mph. It created a dangerous situation on the road. I don't feel safe driving my family around in the truck.
While driving lost all power steering assist ! Was able to avoid a head on crash. But if my wife was driving it could have been deadly !! Was able to get home Thank God. Service Advancetrac is now on dash. Hope this is addressed it could of been deadly !!!!!!!!!
I drove my truck home that afternoon and parked with no problems or alarms got up next morning to leave had hill decent default alarm when I cranked the truck and obviously that affected the electric power steering and I could not turn the steering wheel. First thought that came to mind what if this had happened and I lost steering control while driving home yesterday. As I checked into the problem I learned of the electric control power assist steering also learned that there had been many other incidents with steering failures some with accidents. Also learned that I cannot find any recalls related to this problem which is a very dangerous problem. After getting some advice I checked out the wiring harness underneath the fuse box which is located under the hood. While shining a light up into the fuse box I immediately saw burned wires. Then called my Ford dealer in Easley, South Carolina who did not return my call even though I told them I was without a vehicle and had a very serious electrical problem with my truck. I took pictures of wires and would like for you to investigate this. Very dangerous situation!!!!!
Timing chain has no tension and requiring immediate repair of timing chain and phasers. Check engine light illuminated with codes P0012 & P054C. It is evident this is an acknowledged issue with Ford due to the number of TSBs issued for this motor. Diagnosed at an independent repair shop and confirmed at local Ford dealership and is available currently at the Ford dealership for inspection upon request. Safety risk of loss of power or complete engine failure while operating. Occasional cold start noises occurred for about a year prior to the check engine light on 1/13/2022 - Check engine light appeared, and was taken to a repair shop the next day.
It's a well known problem to Ford. Driving down interstate 70 mph and downshift to 5th wrench light comes on no speedometer air bag light on. The problem is the molded lead frame. Ford is going to get someone seriously hurt or killed with this if they won't do anything about it till this happens.
On more than 2 accasions transmission shifted from 6th gear to1st gear several times truck had wrench sign come on speedometer showing 0 mph had to pull over turn truck off wait 30 seconds restart truck it would go back working had to do this on many accasions truck finally got where it would not shift out of1st gear last time it did it I had to pull off road suddenly I hit a water drain and busted front tire finally got it home called Ford they tell me my truck is not in the recall even though it is doing same thing
This morning (45 degrees F) I remote-started the truck to warm it up. As I strapped in my 5 year old into his carseat (Which does not contact the rear window at any point), We were startled by a load pop as the driver's side rear window broke. I immediately walked to the back of the truck to inspect and a small amount of smoke was raising from the bottom right side of that window where it meets the frame. I believe the rear window defroster was the cause of it. This happened 6 inches from my son's head..
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while stopped at a STOP sign and attempting to make a right turn, there was an abnormal noise while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that the vehicle inadvertently downshifted. The contact let up off the accelerator pedal, and the vehicle coasted before the contact again depressed the accelerator pedal and the vehicle started operating as designed. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact researched online and became aware of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V433000 (Power Train) which she linked to the failure. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The mechanic was unable to retrieve a diagnostic trouble code or determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 149,600.
Exhaust manifolds warped breaking manifold studs causing exhaust leaks and power loss . Manufacture known design flaw! Could potentially cause carbon monoxide issues.
When the driver door is open and the door is locked - either by manually inserting the key into the door and turning the lock, or using the key fob and pushing the button, or even by starting the vehicle where it automatically locks all the doors, the actuator in the door lock flips into the lock position and won't release - (again either by turning off the vehicle, entering the key and turning or pushing the unlock button on the key fob). It's extremely frustrating especially in the winter time since its cold and you want to start your car up to warm it up. It's only by what I've experienced as a random combination by pushing the button, holding the pin up, turning the car off and on, shifting from gear to neutral, etc does it unlock.
The Ford F150 has suddenly downshifted at highway speed and gone into limp mode. A maintance light shows momentarlly. I am working with local Ford dealerships to have the issue addressed. They suggest that it may be addressed under a field campaign that has expired. The sudden downshift and limp mode is a safety issue in traffic. The problem happens then goes away.
Driving at highway speeds and the transmission try’s to go into a lower gear and starts locking the tires up then goes out of gear then back into gear as this is going on the speedometer goes up and down. It has happened several times. I took it to the dealer where I bought it from (pinnacle Ford Nicholasville ky) and they stated it was do to a bad coil pack or plug! Wrong! I may have a code for that do to the transmission shifting up and down so hard but the transmission is the main problem. They were no help and I will never buy from them again. Please make Ford fix this is very dangerous. I have new born child and this could cause a serious accident.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 50 MPH, the vehicle abruptly started jerking while the transmission was downshifting independently with the powertrain malfunction indicator and check engine warning light illuminated. In addition, the RPM was rising high while the transmission was downshifting to another gear. The contact mentioned that whenever the powertrain malfunction warning light was illuminated, the vehicle would stop between 3rd and 5th gear. The dealer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 158,273. Consumer stated the truck has downshifted from 5th gear to 1st gear abruptly, without warning while traveling at 70MPH; nearly causing another vehicle to hit consumer's vehicle from behind while on the interstate.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at 60 MPH, the vehicle independently downshifted as both the check engine and powertrain malfunction indicator warning lights appeared on the instrument panel. The vehicle remained stuck in gear as he drove to the dealer. The contact was informed that there was an extended warranty placed on his vehicle for the failure; however, the warranty had expired. Upon investigation, the contact also discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train) which he linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred him to NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle had been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 220,000.
Uncontroled shifting issues that causes vehicle to chande gears from 6th to first gear without notice, almost causing accidents.....other eratic changes as well....2013 ford f150s are apparently know for this.....a piece called Molded Lead Frame is the cause.....they only replace when a certain code comes up.....they Ford service dept advise me not to drive it
Complete loss of braking power resulting in very dangerous driving condition to n way home. Inspection seems to be a leering master break cylinder into booster. Was driving home on highway and came to a stop light, when pressing the brakes my pedal when all the way to the ground with no stopping power to speak of followed by warnings of low break fluid. Had there been another vehicle there present this would have resulted in a very bad incident. Luckily it was late and not may were out there and I was able to use down shifting for engine braking to slow down and get to a stop. This problem came out of no where as I upkeep my vehicle well with servicing and never had a problem
The truck seems to downshift on its own randomly. Thwre are times where i turn the trucm off and turn it back on then its back to normal. Other times it takes about 10 mins to work normaly again. Also the truck won't let me accelerate at times. It just sounds like I'm reving the engine.
lost all of the electrical power to my truck as I was going to drop it off at the dealership for a recall. On my way there my truck downshifted into first gear over revved the motor and caused it to shut the motor down and loss of the computer as well. I had it towed to my local shop. I called Ford to see what they want me to do next and said to have it towed there and I did .Ford cant get power to the truck because there motor is no good. ford also tells me that the oil is way over full. but I know it wasn't over full it holds 6 quarts of oil and I know that.so they state that the oil is over filled and blew the truck up. but the problem is the computer and in that event caused the motor to blow up and push gas and break fluid into the motor truck only has 80,000 miles on it. this I feel as a manufacturers default and frontier ford of Anacortes WA. And ford itself only honors there own techs so they are going by what they say. I have been dealing with this for almost 7 months with out a truck witch has cost me a job and among other issues and loses. feel as they didn't honor or care about the customer or even looking into the dealership that has my truck. when I asked to seek with a supervisor I was told they are no supervisor available and that they would call me back i have still never heard from them. How long must I be without a truck or a jib because they aren't doing there job correctly and making my life here impossible to get a head in such hard time as it is. Thank you [XXX]. L look forward to hearing from you. INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The Molded Lead frame fails and the current recall of " reprogramming " the problem only solves it for a short, in my case, 3-hour window. The molded lead frame is faulty and causes the vehicle to immediately jump from 1st to 5th and back to 5th gear when driving and lock up tires. This is dangerous enough but even more dangerous in bad weather. It is beyond well documented that reprogramming doesn't actually fix this issue for any length of acceptable time. Drivers are being put back at risk, then having to spend thousands to replace the molded lead frame, which is what should be done, to begin with, not reprogram. Please, I am begging you before more lives are lost and innocent owners spend hundreds of thousands collectively trying to save their lives. Make Ford responsible for this and have the recall replace, NOT REPROGRAM....REPLACE! the Molded Lead frame in these 2011-2013 6r80 Transmissions.
I was first driving about 50MPH in 6th gear when my truck downshifted to 1 without warning. Luckily no one was behind me and I was able to get into the right lane. I tuned my vehicle off and back on and my truck shifted just fine. To say I was and scared is an understatement luckily I have had plenty of training just in case, I’m sure many have not. I got a diagnostic test on it and there were no errors. About a week later I was driving 80 down the freeway when my truck went from 6 gear to idol. Luckily I was able to steer off the highway to get away from traffic. Again, I turned off and back on my truck. No lights or indications, but now I have an appointment to get another complete diagnostic on it. Just want to make sure everyone is aware that there is an issue. I have around 180,000 miles on the vehicle. I don’t have any files to upload at this time because my truck goes in next week.
My 2013 Ford F-150 suddenly downshifted when at highway speeds. The check engine warning came on and the speedometer suddenly stopped working. I could feel the transmission jumping gears. I was able to get the truck to a local auto parts store, where they ran a diagnostic P0720. I was able to put the truck in Manual and was able to drive the truck to the nearest Ford dealer. They told me they are not accepting any vehicles with transmission problems until 2022 due to parts and labor shortages. I was able to get the car to a local repair shop, but they were unable to repair it. That shop referred me to Ford Customer Satisfaction Program 16N02, which calls out the exact problem my truck is having.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle was experiencing unexpected hard downshifts. The vehicle was taken to a Ford Roush dealer to be repaired under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V075000 (Power Train); however, the dealer informed the contact that they could not perform the recall repair. The contact contacted several unknown dealers who informed him that they could not complete the recall repair because the vehicle was a Roush vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated while driving 55 MPH, the vehicle downshifted to 2nd gear. The vehicle then shifted to 4th gear and lost motive power. The contact veered off to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the dealer. The dealer then towed the vehicle to a certified transmission repair shop where unknown repairs were completed; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
the truck downshifts into 4th gear and the speedometer and odometer stop working and the airbag light comes on when driving on the highway. I have to pull over and shut the truck off and restart it to reset it. also when starting from a stop sometimes it wont shift out of first gear.
