MY 2013 F150 WAS PARKED UNDER MY CARPORT AND I GOT IN IT TO MOVE IT AND HOOK UP A SMALL TRAILER. THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON SAYING LOW BRAKE FLUID. I HAD A BOTTLE AND FILLED IT. GOT BACK IN AND MOVED 20 FEET AND HAD NO BRAKE PEDAL AT ALL AND THE WARNING WAS ON AGAIN. I CHECKED AND IT IS EMPTY AGAIN. I SAW ONLINE THAT THIS WAS A PROBLEM WITH MANY 2013 F150 TRUCKS. AND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS. CALLED THE SERVICE DEPT. AND WAS TOLD THAT MY TRUCK WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL !! I SEE NO LEAKS SO IT MUST BE THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER AND OR BOOSTER !! BUT NOW I AM NOT ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO GET REPAIRED AND HAVE LIMITED INCOME BEING DISABLED !! SO MY COMPLAINT IS IF OTHERS OF THIS SAME YEAR AND MODEL F150 WERE IN A RECALL FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM, THEN WHY IS MY F150 NOT COVERED IN THE RECALL. IF I HAD BEEN DRIVING THIS TRUCK WHEN THE BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILED I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN KILLED OR HAVE KILLED SOMEONE ELSE !!! WHY DID I GET SCREWED AND NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL ???
MASTER CYLINDER LEAK CAUSING LOW BRAKE FUILD AND LOSS OF BRAKES. SAW AN OLDER RECALL NOTICE ON THIS YEAR OF TRUCK BUT MY VIN DOES NOT SHOW IT AS RECALL .
TRUCK WENT INTO LIMP MODE ON ME AND LOST POWER WHEN WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. ALMOST HAD ME CAUSE AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF SPEED DROPPED INSTANTLY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING, THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTED FROM HIGH TO LOW GEAR AND THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE SEIZED AND START TO SKID DOWN THE ROAD. THE ENGINE STALLED, BUT THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. ALSO, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE GEAR INDEPENDENTLY SHIFTED OUT OF DRIVE AND FAILED TO SHIFT OUT OF GEAR. IN ADDITION, THE WRENCH WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE REMAINED IN THIRD GEAR AND COULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF GEAR. THE CONTACT DROVE TO JAMES HODGE FORD (1711 SE WASHINGTON ST, IDABEL, OK 74745, (580) 286-7676) AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 250,000.
TAKATA RECALL MASTER CYLINDER LEAKING BY LOW BRAKE FUILD LIGHTS GOES ON FIND NO VISIBLE LEAKS. FOUND RECALL OF THIS PROBLEM BUT NO ACTIVE RECALL ON MY VIN NUMBER. NOT SURE IF IT WAS FIXED BUT IS NOW A PROBLEM AND I WOULD LIKE TO GET IT FIXED BEFORE I END UP IN AN ACCIDENT WITH MY CHILDREN IN CAR. PRIMARY VEHICLE SO DRIVE IT A LOT. THANKS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTED ON ITS OWN AND THE TIRES SLID. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO COAST AS THE TRANSMISSION KICKED BACK INTO GEAR. IN ADDITION, THE SERVICE TRANSMISSION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO BREDEMANN FORD (2038 WAUKEGAN RD, GLENVIEW, IL 60025, (847) 510-5585), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
SINCE PURCHASED NEW THE ENGINE WILL INTERMITTENTLY COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN ESPECIALLY DURING DAMP WEATHER. IT HAS SPENT WEEKS AT DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS YET THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. THE ENGINE WILL SPUTTER AND KILL TAKING WITH IT THE POWER STEERING, BRAKES, AND LIGHTS. IT IS STILL AN ISSUE TODAY. THE OTHER PROBLEM THAT IS REALLY CONCERNING IS THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WILL SUDDENLY SHIFT ITSELF INTO FIRST GEAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND SEND RPMS RACING FOR NO REASON. I WAS TOLD BY MY DEALERSHIP V&H IN MARSHFIELD THAT THEY 'REPROGRAMMED' THE TRANSMISSION BUT THAT STILL HAPPENS FROM TIME TO TIME. ALL OF THESE THINGS HAPPENED MAINLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITH THE ENGINE BEING MOST COMMON DURING WET WEATHER. IT HAPPENS RATHER FREQUENTLY WITH THE LAST EPISODE BEING ON 8/12/19

ON 10 AUG 2019 I TOOK MY FORD IN FOR TRANSMISSION RECALL, REPROGRAMMING TO PREVENT UNCONTROLLED DOWNSHIFTING. I HAD NEVER HAD HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH DOWNSHIFTING PRIOR TO THIS DATE. ONCE RECALL WAS DONE WITHIN A WEEK MY TRUCK DRASTICALLY DOWNSHIFTED TWICE BEFORE TAKING IT BACK TO THE DEALER WHO PERFORMED THE RECALL. THEY SAID THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH MY TRUCK AND TOLD ME MY WHEELS LOCKING WAS NOT A SIGN OF DOWNSHIFTING. NOW I CONTINUE TO HAVE DOWNSHIFTING ISSUES AND ALSO AM THROWING A P0720 CODE. I JUST KNOW THAT THE DOWNSHIFTING BROKE THE LEADFRAME AND I LOOKING AT A HUGE BILL. NOW VEHICLE GOES INTO LIMP MODE WHERE I HAVE TO STOP AND RESTART MY CAR TO GET SPEEDOMETER TO SHOW.
I STARTED MY TRUCK AND THE WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON. THE TRUCK WAS IN LIMP MODE AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE. I RESTARTED THE TRUCK AND WAS ABLE TO PULL IT BACK IN THE DRIVEWAY. I PLUGGED IN AN OBD CODE READER AND IT GAVE A P2112 "THROTTLE ACTUATOR CONTROL SYSTEM STUCK CLOSED." UPON SOME RESEARCH I FOUND SEVERAL MODELS BETWEEN 2011 THROUGH 2015 HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES CAUSING DANGEROUS SITUATIONS ON THE HIGHWAY. THE ISSUE WAS MOVING WHEN IT FIRST OCCURRED, BUT THANKFULLY IT WAS JUST OUTSIDE MY DRIVEWAY, I HADNT MADE IT TO THE HIGHWAY YET. I RESTARTED THE TRUCK, AND WAS ABLE TO PARK IT IN THE DRIVEWAY.
WHILE DRIVING HEARD A NOISE THEN LOST ALL POWER STEERING.
I HAVE A 2013 FORD F-150 SUPER WHITE HAS 160,405. THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDS TO BE REPLACE I HAVE SEEN PLENTY OF COMMENTS ONLINE ABOUT PEOPLE TIMING CHAIN GOING OUT IS THERE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM.
WAS DRIVING AND THE POWER STEERING LOCKED UP RECEIVED A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT CODE , SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC CODE, & DOWNHILL CODE. THE TRUCK WOULD NOT TURN LEFT OR RIGHT VERY DANGEROUS. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER PICKED UP MY TRUCK HE STATED I WAS THE 4TH FORD HE'S TOWED WITH THESE SAME ISSUE. LOOKED ONLINE AND SAW MULTIPLE PAGES IN REGARDS TO THE SAME ISSUES. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT THE MECHANICS AND FORD ISSUED A RECALL FOR OTHER VEHICLES FOR THE SAME ISSUE.
I HAVE BOTH EXHAUST MANIFOLDS WARPED AND LEAKING
THE CAR IS EXPERIENCING EXTREME RUSTING ALONG THE REAR WHEEL WELLS.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 45 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently stalled. The check engine warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The contact was able to restart the vehicle the next day. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel pump module and the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred while driving. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the fuel pump module and the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The dealer also diagnosed that the fuse box needed to be relocated to prevent fuse #27 from burning due to the engine heat. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000.

ALSO, THE SERVICE BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO INFORMED HIM TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER. THE CONTACT CALLED FRANKLIN FORD (175 EAST CENTRAL STREET, FRANKLIN, MA 02038, (508) 570-4022) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED TO NOTIFY THE MANUFACTURER. THE CONTACT NOTIFIED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 86,000.

A COMPUTER UPDATE WAS ALSO PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE AFTER AN INDICATOR CONCERNING THE TRANSMISSION AND TWO OTHER UNKNOWN INDICATORS FLASHED. AFTER THE REPAIRS, THE DOWN HILL DESCENT AND SERVICE ADVANCETRAC WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED PARKWAY FORD (2104 PETERS CREEK PKWY, WINSTON-SALEM, NC 27127, (877) 836-4271) AND SCHEDULED A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 166,000.
BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER FAILURE. THE MASTER CYLINDER HAS DEVELOPED A LEAK THAT CAUSED BRAKE FLUID TO DRAIN INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER, THEN CAUSING THE ENGINE TO SUCK BRAKE FLUID INTO THE MOTOR. THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT STRAIGHT TO THE FLOOR. THIS COULD OF POTENTIALLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, OR EVEN A DEATH IF THE PROBLEM WAS NOT NOTICED SOONER. THE VEHICLE ALMOST LOST ALL BRAKING FORCE WHICH COULD OF KILLED SOMEONE. FORD IS DENYING TO FIX THE RECALL #16S24 FOR THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT MANUFACTURED DURING THE YEARS OF THE RECALL. PROBLEM IS THE ISSUE THE VEHICLE HAS IS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE TAKEN CARE OF IN THE MENTIONED RECALL, FOR THE EXACT SAME MAKE AND MODEL TRUCK.
AS PART OF SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 19S07, I SCHEDULED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER (KOON'S/ANNAPOLIS, MD) FOR SERVICE ON THIS RECALL. I SCHEDULED MY 100,000 SERVICE APPOINTMENT TO GO WITH IT. CURIOUSLY, ABOUT AN HOUR AFTER MAKING THE APPOINTMENT, A REPRESENTATIVE FROM THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT CALLED TO SAY WHILE THEY COULD TAKE THE APPOINTMENT THAT I WAS PAYING FOR OUT OF MY POCKET WITHOUT ISSUE, THE RECALL REPAIR THAT FMC IS PAYING FOR WAS NOT AVAILABLE TO ME UNTIL ... OCT. 1, 2019 AT THE EARLIEST. WHY IS IT THAT A REPAIR/SERVICE THAT I'M PAYING FOR IS AVAILABLE TO ME IMMEDIATELY, BUT A REPAIR THAT FMC IS PAYING FOR -- THAT REQUIRED A "DON'T DELAY / SCHEDULE TODAY" LETTER FROM FORD TO ALERT ME ABOUT THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION ISN'T AVAILABLE UNTIL OCT. 1?
WHEN ENTERING ONTO THE INTERSTATE I FELT THE TRUCK WAS NOT GETTING UP TO SPEED. I THEN NOTICED ON MY DASHBOARD A BIG WRENCH. I FELT MY TRUCK CONTINUE TO NOT GAIN SPEED EVEN THOUGH I WAS STEPPING ON THE GAS.THE SCREEN THEN WENT BLACK AND AND WHEN THE DASHBOARD CAME BACK ON I HAD NOTHING SHOWING. NO MPH ,FUEL ECONOMY, ETC AND I WAS STUCK IN 5TH GEAR.I COULD NOT INCREASE SPEED BUT ONLY DECREASE IF I STEPPED ON THE BREAK.I DON'T KNOW HOW FAST I WAS GOING BUT IT WAS NOT FAST AT ALL SINCE EVERYONE WAS PASSING ME(MAYBE 40 MPH).I ALSO NOTICED MY AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON. I HAD TO PULL OVER ON THE INTERSTATE AND RESTART MY TRUCK.ONCE I DID THAT EVERYTHING CAME BACK ON AND WORKED FOR THE REST OF THE RIDE. I WAS RECENTLY PART OF A FORD RECALL BUT HAD THAT FIXED.I HAD THE AUTOMATIC DOWNSHIFTING HAPPEN TO ME 3 TIMES BEFORE THE FIRST RECALL WAS IN PLACE. I JUST GOT A LETTER LAST WEEK THAT THEY NEED TO REDO THE RECALL, I HAD THE DOWNSHIFTING HAPPEN TO ME AND THIS WAS NOT IT. THIS IS A ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SAFETY ISSUE THAT IS MAKING ME AFRAID TO DRIVE MY OWN TRUCK SINCE MOST OF MY TIME IS ON THE INTERSTATE. PHOTOS ARE ATTACHED OF WHAT WAS HAPPENING TO ME ON THE INTERSTATE.

STRUGGLING GEAR TO GEAR DOING ACCELERATION AND SPONTANEOUSLY DOWNSHIFTING PERIODICALLY ON ITS OWN. I HAVE PARTICIPATED IN TWO RECALLS DEALING WITH THE UNEXPECTED DOWNSHIFTING BUT NO CHANGE TO THE ISSUE I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS THE LAST RECALL WAS 7/12/2019. ENGINE TURBO, 100000 MILES TOOK TO DEALERSHIP TO TAKE A LOOK AT. DEALER FOUND NOTHING. AT 108000 MILES STARTED HAVING THE SAME ISSUES WITH TRUCK DOWN SHIFTING AND GRINDING AND ENGINE SQUEALING.
WHILE TRAVELING ON I70 IN COLORADO AND TOWING A TRAVEL TRAILER THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER. THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM WAS A THROTTLE BODY. I HAVE LEARNED THIS PROBLEM IS FAIRLY COMMON WITH THE ECOBOOST ENGINE AND HAS NOT BEEN COMPLETELY RESOLVED LEAVING THOSE DRIVING THESE VEHICLES IN DANGER.

TRAVELING 50 MPH ON A 4 LANE ROAD WHEN ENGINE SHUT OFF. HAD POWER TO VEHICLE BUT NO STEERING OR BRAKES. I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE 4 LANE HIGHWAY SUCCESSFULLY. PUT A KIT IN TO MOVE THE #27 FUSE TO AN ISOLATED LOCATION SO IT WOULDN'T GET HOT AND MALFUNCTION. THE COST WAS $250. I ASKED IT THERE WAS A RECALL AND THEY SAID NO. I SAID SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED BECAUSE THIS IS DANGEROUS. THE RESPONSE WAS WE HAVE BEEN GETTING A LOT OF THESE. I WAS LUCKY AND WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD. TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON AGAIN WOULD RESET THE PROBLEM. THE MAINTENANCE LIGHT AND AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE SPEEDOMETER WENT TO 0. THE ODOMETER AND OTHER DIGITAL READINGS IN THE CENTER CLUSTER ON THE DASH SHOWED ALL DASHES. AFTER SEVERAL OF THESE EVENTS, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ALSO ILLUMINATED. 3. AFTER ONE OF THE EVENTS DESCRIBED IN 2 ABOVE, THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED, SHIFTED INTO REVERSE, AND THEN RETURNED TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE AND ACTED AS THOUGH IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF AND ON AGAIN CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND HAS SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR A DIAGNOSIS. FORD SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 19S07 WAS PERFORMED IN MARCH 2019. FORD SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 19S19 WAS PERFORMED IN JULY 2019, AFTER THE FIRST EVENT, BUT DID NOT CORRECT THE ISSUE.

THE ENGINE SOUND FELT LIKE THE TRUCK HAD DOWN SHIFTED FROM A HIGHER TO A LOWER GEAR AND WAS BRAKING ON ITS OWN WHILE I WAS TRYING TO COMPENSATE BY GIVING MORE GAS SO THAT I COULD PULLOVER SAFELY. WITHIN A MINUTE THE TRUCK STOPPED STILL, THERE WAS SMOKE AND FIRE THAT SPREAD RAPIDLY THROUGH THE CABINE AND ENGINE. WE NEARLY ESCAPED. I WAS UNABLE TO COMPLETELY CLEAR THE TRAILER OFF THE ROAD AS THE TRUCK HAD COMPLETELY STOPPED. THE TRUCK BURNED COMPLETELY. BEFORE REPORTING THIS INCIDENT I CALLED FORD, PROVIDED MY VIN NUMBER AND ASKED WHETHER THERE HAD BEEN ANY RECENT RECALLS ON MY F150. FORD CONFIRMED THAT A RECALL (# 19S07) THAT IMPACTED MY VIN WAS ISSUED IN FEB, 2019. HOWEVER, I DO NOT REMEMBER RECEIVING ANY NOTIFICATION FROM MY FORD DEALERSHIP.
