THE LINES ON MY BACK UP CAMERA STOPPED WORKING, BUT THE CAMERA STILL WORKS
I AM HAVING BRAKE ISSUES JUST HAD ALL NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS REPLACED AS CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM LIGHT HAS COME ON AFTER REPAIRS WERE MADE I WAS STILL HAVING ISSUES THAT I WAS HAVING PRIOR TO REPAIR LOSS OF BRAKING SYSTEM ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WITH KIDS IN THE CAR BRAKE GOES TO THE FLOOR AND SOME TIME LATER RE GAIN BREAKING SYSTEM VERY SCARY I HAVE PAID OVER 40 THOUSAND DOLLAR FOR THIS TRUCK AND WELL OVER 8 THOUSAND IN REPAIRS WHAT HAS TO BE DONE BEFORE RECALL IS ISSUED THE RUN AROUND BETWEEN DEALERSHIPS AND HE SAID SHE SAID. I GUESS SOMEONE HAS TO BE KILLED BEFORE THERE IS A RECALL THIS IS ABSURD.
WHILE DRIVING UP HILL ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY LOST POWER, POWER STEERING INCLUDED AND SHUT DOWN. WHILE PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY (HEAD IN AND AT A SLIGHT GRADE) THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START. PLEASE LOG ONTO THE FOLLOWING SITE FOR SEVERAL OTHER PEOPLE THIS IS HAPPENING TO OR GOOGLE IT. FORD ISSUING A BULLETIN (NOT PUBLICLY) AND EXPECTING THEIR CUSTOMERS TO PAY FOR THIS ISSUE IS RIDICULOUS. A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED WHILE TRAVELING ON A HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEED AND LOSES THE ABILITY TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE.
I WAS DRVING MY TRUCK AND WITH NO WARNING OR ANYTHING MY STEERING BECAME VERY VERY HARD AND HAD TO TAKE EXTRA FORCE TO TURN IT THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WAS IT HAPPENED THER MORNING I WAS COMING BACK FROM VACATION A 30 HOUR DRIVE TO GET BACK HOME AND BE ABLE TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO GET IT FIXED IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS.
FRONT END SHAKING AT AND ROTORS TURNED UNDER WARRANTY AT 15K, SAME THING AT 23K AND ROTORS TURNED AGAIN. SAME THING AT 35K AND STILL UNDER WARRANTY. NOW IT IS 46K AND FORD CAN'T TURN ROTORS BECAUSE ROTORS ARE OUT OF SPEC. I HAVE NEVER HAD ROTORS WARP THIS FAST AND F-150 IS ONLY DRIVEN ON HIGHWAY. FORD SHOULD FIX THE CALIPERS OR ROTORS, THIS IS A PROBLEM FROM THE FACTORY.
FUSE #27 FOR THE FUEL PUMP IS BURNING UP ON ONE SIDE. ENGINE STALLS INTERMITTENTLY. WILL NOT RESTART FOR A WHILE AFTER.
I KNOW THAT THE US GOVT IS LOOKING INTO FORDS THAT DOWNSHIFT RANDOMLY INTO FIRST GEAR, AND I WANTED TO REPORT THAT MY F150 HAS DONE THIS TWICE, I DON'T REMEMBER WHERE THE SECOND ONE OCCURRED BUT THE FIRST ONE WAS ON THE HIGHWAY GOING ABOUT 65. SUDDEN UNEXPECTED DOWNSHIFT TO A LOW GEAR AND ENGINE RPMS REDLINE AND TRUCK SLOWS DOWN CONSIDERABLY. MY TRUCK WAS BUILT 1/13.
EXCESSIVE BRAKE WEAR. BRAKE LINING CHECK AT 2,728 MILES IN AUGUST 2013 SHOWED 10 MM FRONT; 7 MM REAR. BRAKE LINING CHECK AT 11,131 MILES IN JULY 2017 SHOWED 5 AND 6 MM ON FRONT AND 3 AND 2 MM ON REAR. THIS SEEMS LIKE EXCESSIVE DETERIORATION OF BRAKES FOR NUMBER OF MILES DRIVEN.
WHILE TRAVELING ON INTERSTATE AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, SPEEDOMETER SUDDENLY WENT TO ZERO AND TRANSMISSION SHIFTED FROM 6TH GEAR TO 1ST GEAR CAUSING THE REAR WHEELS TO SLIDE FROM THE SUDDEN DECELERATION, NEARLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. VEHICLE HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE DUE TO A SIMILAR ISSUE WHERE THE INDICATED SPEED WOULD SUDDENLY CHANGE WHILE TRAVELING AT CONSTANT SPEED AND THE TRANSMISSION WOULD DOWNSHIFT 2 OR MORE GEARS IN RESPONSE. PCM WAS REPROGRAMMED AT THAT TIME BUT THE ISSUE WOULD STILL OCCUR PERIODICALLY. DEALERSHIP IS NOW REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION MOLDED LEADFRAME AT A COST OF OVER $1000. THIS DEFECT IS IDENTICAL TO FORD SAFETY RECALL 16S19, BUT THE RECALL ONLY COVERS YEAR MODEL 2011 & 2012 VEHICLES. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE COVERED BE A RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE OVER 20 MPH. IN ADDITION, THE TURBO WARNING ERROR INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SOUND FORD (101 SW GRADY WAY, RENTON, WA 98057) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CRANKSHAFT AND TURBO BOOSTER NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
BRAKE FAILURE , MASTER CYLINDER, 2013 AND 2014 MODELS WHERE RECALLED BUT THEY SAY THIS VIN WAS NOT IN RECALL, IT NEEDS TO BE BEFORE SOME ONE DIES, WHILE DRIVING WE HAD TOTAL BRAKE FAILURE AND LUCKY WE WERE ONLY GOING 25 MPH AND ABLE TO USE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP. 100 YARDS AND WE WOULD HAVE BEEN ON FREEWAY DOING 75 MPH
DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE ANGLE SENSORS ARE BAD AND THE ENTIRE RACK AND PINION NEED REPLACED, UPON FURTHER RESEARCH I'VE SEEN VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PROBLEM SUDDENLY LOOSE STEERING AND WERE INVOLVED IN ACCIDENTS, MY VEHICLE LUCKILY HASN'T HAD ANY ISSUES YET OTHER THAN KNOWING MINES GOING BAD AND I FELL IT'S A SAFETY CONCERN THAT I DO NOT WANT TO PUT MYSELF OR OTHERS IN HARM WAY AND THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR THE RACK AND PINION.
WHILE DECELERATING TO MAKE A TURN, THE BRAKE PEDAL STARTED CHATTERING AND BRAKING EFFECTIVENESS DECREASED TO ALMOST ZERO. THE VEHICLE ULTIMATELY STOPPED BEYOND THE TURN. THIS WAS ON A PAVED DRY SURFACE WITH NORMAL BRAKING PRESSURE. IT NOW HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST TWICE.
TIMING CHAIN RATTLE ON ECOBOOST ENGINE, I BELIEVE FORD ISSUED A BULLETIN ON IT, I FEEL IT SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER RECALL, MAKES A HORRENDOUS NOISE ON STARTUP EVERYTIME, AND ITS VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX. THE ENGINE FEELS AS IF IT IS ABOUT TO FALL OUT ON STARTUP ITS THAT LOUD, SHAKES THE WHOLE TRUCK.
FUEL PUMP FUSE MELTED CAUSING TRUCK TO LOSE POWER WHILE ON FREEWAY. VERY DANGEROUS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 10 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS SOFT AND EXHIBITED AN UNEVEN AMOUNT OF PRESSURE. THERE WAS NO WARNING INDICATOR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AT: GARY SMITH FORD, 1 BEALE PKWY, FORT WALTON, FL, WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER LEAKED BRAKE FLUID INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER TO THE CONTACT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS ABOUT 93,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE MASTER CYLINDER REAR CUP SEAL FRACTURED AND BRAKE FLUID LEAKED INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON A CONSISTENT BASIS. THE BRAKE LIGHT ILLUMINATED UNTIL BRAKE FLUID WAS ADDED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON JULY 10 2017. AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC STATED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE WAS IDENTICAL TO THE FAILURE LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V345000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED HIM TO CONTACT THE NHTSA HOTLINE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,193.
BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER FAILURE, CAUSING BRAKE FLUID LEAKAGE INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. INTERESTINGLY, THERE IS A RECALL FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE IN CERTAIN 2013-2014 F-150'S (SUBMISSION DATE : MAY 23, 2016 NHTSA RECALL NO. : 16V-345 MANUFACTURER RECALL NO. : 16S24). MY VIN HAPPENS TO NOT BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. IT LOOKS LIKE FORD MAY HAVE FORGOTTEN TO ADD SOME TRUCKS TO THE RECALL. IF YOU ASK ME, IT'S NO COINCIDENCE THAT MY TRUCK WAS PURCHASED WITHIN THE YEARS OF THE RECALL, AND HAD THE EXACT SAME FAILURE AS THE RECALL. UNFORTUNATELY, TOMORROW (JULY 11, 2017) I WILL PAY ~$1050 TO GET THIS FIXED, WHEN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL.
MY 2013 FORD F150 3.7L 66,000 MILES HAS AN ONGOING BRAKE/ROTOR PROBLEM. I STARTED HAVING THE PROBLEMS AT ABOUT 36,000 MILES. FINALLY REPLACED THE ROTORS/BRAKES AT 46,000 NOW THE ROTORS ARE WARPING AGAIN AFTER ONLY 20,000 MILES. THE FRONT END HAS A VIBRATION IN IT, EVEN WHEN NOT BRAKING. THE RECALL ISSUED WAS LIMITED TO THE 3.5L ENGINE. FROM MY INTERNET RESEARCH THIS RECALLED SHOULD BE EXTENDED TO OTHER MODELS.
I WAS LEAVING WORK, AS I DROVE OFF ONTO THE STREET IN ODESSA, TEXAS THE VEHICLE SEEMED NORMAL FOR 10 MINS. ALL OF SUDDEN THE FIRST BRAKE I TOOK THE BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON AT A STOP SIGN. I PULLED OVER BECAUSE MY BRAKE PEDAL SLID ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR, AS A RESULT OF THIS MY VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO STOP. I GOT OFF THE TRUCK AND CHECKED THE BREAK FLUID RESERVOIR AND IT WAS EMPTY. I DROVE MY VEHICLE TO THE CLOSEST CONVENIENT STORE TO PURCHASE BRAKE FLUID. I BOUGHT TWO CONTAINERS AND POURED INTO THE RESERVOIR AND AS I DROVE OFF, THE VEHICLE SEEMED TO BE WORKING FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND THE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN. I DROVE TO THE CLOSEST MECHANIC SHOP; I SPOKE THE MECHANIC AND EXPLAINED TO HIM WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS. HE CHECKED FOR LEAKS AND DID NOT FIND ANY HE THEN MADE A THOROUGH CHECK INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. HE FOUND THAT THE FLUID WAS ENTERING THE BRAKE BOOSTER. NOT A GOOD SIGN HE STATED. UPON ARRIVAL TO MY RESIDENCE, I LOOKED UP FORD MOTOR RECALLS AND I LEARNED THAT THESE 2013-2014 FORD F150 VEHICLES HAD RECALLS TO REPLACE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDERS DUE TO BRAKE FLUID LEAKING FROM THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER. THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY RECALL WAS ISSUED BACK IN MAY 25, 2016. HOWEVER, I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE A NOTICE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE ENGINE STALLED AND THE MAINTENANCE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART AND RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (COCONUT POINT FORD 22400 S. TAMIAMI TRAIL, FL 33928), BUT THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 114,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 8 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE OCCURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE DEALER (TRUCK CITY OF BUDA, TEXAS) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO ERROR CODES TO HELP DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. IN ADDITION, THE DEALER REQUESTED THAT THE CONTACT RECORD VIDEO FOOTAGE OF THE INCIDENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND PROVIDED THE CONTACT WITH CASE NUMBER: CAS12626484. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 54,000.
DRIVING DOWN FREEWAY AT 65 TRUCK SHIFT FROM 6 GEAR TO 1ST LOCKING UP TIRES THEN BACK TO 6 GEAR DID THIS SEVERAL TIMES THIS IS NOT SAFE THEN ENGINE LOST POWER AND WRENCH LIGHT SHOWED UP TURN KEY OFF AND IT RESTARTED
PUT THE TRUCK IN DRIVE AND THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILED.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while making a right turn the traction control and hill descent warnings would illuminate. During the failure the turn signal became inoperable and the driver had to manually hold the turn signal in order for the signal to operate. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the failure was due to a failed steering angle sensor. The vehicle was not repaired. Also while driving a squilling type noise was present coming from under the vehicle due to a damaged exhaust manifold. The manufacturer was also notified of the failures but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 100,000.
2013 F-150 XLT 4X4 ELECTRIC POWER STEERING COMPLETELY WENT OUT AT 43,000 MILES. THE TRUCK WOULD OUT OF NOWHERE, WHILE DRIVING, BE VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN AND ALMOST CAUSED A CRASH. IT STARTED SMALL, BUT WITHIN 2 WEEKS COMPLETELY WENT OUT.
NOW THE SECOND TIME IN AND THE TRUCK DOESN'T EVEN HAVE 50K MILES ON IT. TRUCK WOULD TURN OVER BUT NOT START AND LEFT MY WIFE AND KIDS STRANDED IN A PARKING LOT WHERE I HAD TO GO GET THEM. IT'S HOT AS HECK IN JUNE/JULY IN TEXAS SO I KNOW IT ISN'T A COLD WEATHER START THING. RESEARCHING ONLINE WE ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES WITH THIS PROBLEM. EVENTUALLY LEAVING IT THERE AND MESSING WITH THE KEY AND IGNITION SWITCH I'M ASSUMING IT STARTED AFTER A FEW HOURS. THE TRUCK WAS NOT OVER HEATED.
HVAC IS COSTING A FORTUNE. CONTINUALLY IN DEALERSHIP TO REPAIR BUT STOPS RUNNING. NO HEAT OR AIR
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE FLASHED SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC, DOWN HILL DESCENT CONTROL FAULT, TRAILER BRAKE MODULE FAIL AND A COUPLE MORE CODES. ALL ELECTONICS IN VEHICLE WENT BLANK, INCLUDING ALL CONTROLS/GAUGES. BEFORE DOING SO, LAST CODE READ, SHIFT TO PARK. ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT, BECAUSE THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND NEARLY PULLED ME INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE ACCELERATION IS BAD TOO, FEELS LIKE IT IS NOT FIRING ALL CYLINDERS AGAIN. HAVE ALREADY TAKEN IN FOR A NUMBER OF ISSUES, INCLUDING CRANKSHAFT SENSOR ISSUES(WAS LOSING POWER TO DRIVELINE); BRAKES LOCKING UP (HAVE REPLACED THE ROTORS AND PADS SIX TIMES AND LAST TIME I REPLACED BOTH CALIBERS AS WELL; FRONT AXLES AND BEARINGS REPLACED. AS WELL AS, BLINKERS NO LONGER WORK. WHEN THE FIRST ISSUES AROSE, PROBLEMS HAVE CONTINUED SINCE, LIKE I SAID HAVE TAKEN IT IN AT LEAST 6 TIMES TO A DEALER AND ONCE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. AT FIRST THE PROBLEMS WERE COVERED BY WARRENTY, NOW THEY ARE NOT, THERE IS ONLY 99,000MILES ON THE TRUCK AND HAS BEEN IN SHOP AT LEAST 6 TIMES AND IS ONLY 4 YRS OLD. NOT SURE WHAT TO DO, AS THE PROBLEMS RESEMBLE RECALL ISSUES, BUT DEALERSHIP SAYS THEY AREN'T PART OF ANY RECALLS. CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY ON THE ROAD. THE TRUCK IS NOW NOT DRIVEABLE!!!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE MADE AN ABNORMAL RATTLING NOISE, WHICH WAS A DISTRACTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO FORD LINCOLN OF FRANKLIN (1129 MURFREESBORO RD, FRANKLIN, TN 37064, (615) 800-6500) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT NEW CAM PHASERS AND A TIMING CHAIN KIT NEEDED TO BE INSTALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS SCHEDULED TO BE REPAIRED TODAY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND TRANSFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
I AM EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM WITH MY 2013 FORD F-150 XLT AS THOSE THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED IN THE 2011 AND 2012 MODELS. MY TRUCK WAS ALSO BUILT IN DEARBORN, MICHIGAN AND HAS THE 6R80 TRANSMISSION. I TOOK MY TRUCK INTO THE DEALERSHIP THIS WEEK TO FIND THAT THE LEAD FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER IS REPLACING THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE AND THE LEAD FRAME AT MY COST OF $1,362 . THE PROBLEM: A PROBLEM WITH THE OUTPUT SPEED SENSOR ON THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION LEAD FRAME COULD CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION CONTROLS TO FORCE A TEMPORARY DOWNSHIFT INTO 1ST GEAR. DEPENDING ON THE SPEED OF THE VEHICLE AT THE TIME OF THE DOWNSHIFT, THE DRIVER COULD EXPERIENCE AN ABRUPT SPEED REDUCTION THAT COULD CAUSE THE REAR TIRES TO SLIDE OR LOCK UP, RESULTING IN LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL AND INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. EARLIER THIS WEEK ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, MY TRUCK WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST GEAR AFTER COMING TO A STOP. I WAS NEARLY INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS PROBLEM WHEN I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP LIGHT AND THERE WAS NO PLACE FOR ME TO PULL OVER. THE PROBLEM ONLY CORRECTS ITSELF WHEN I SHUT THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTART IT.
SUDDEN FAILURE OF BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WITHOUT WARNING DURING NORMAL DRIVING IN THE CITY. THIS BRAKE FAILURE CAUSED ME TO DRIVE OFF THE ROAD IN ORDER TO AVOID COLLIDING WITH STOPPED VEHICLES. THIS IS THE EXACT ISSUE THAT IS INCLUDED IN RECALL # 16S24, HOWEVER THIS RECALL DOES NOT CURRENTLY INCLUDE MY VEHICLE. THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUDDENLY LEAKED ALL FLUID INTO THE BRAKE BOOSTER AS DESCRIBED IN RECALL # 16S24 CAUSING THE BRAKES TO STOP WORKING COMPLETELY, EVEN WITH THE PEDAL COMPLETELY DEPRESSED. I AM CONFIDENT THE SAME DEFECTIVE PART/SEAL/ASSEMBLY THAT IS INCLUDED IN THE RECALLED VEHICLES WAS INSTALLED ON MY TRUCK, CAUSING THE SAME ISSUE WHEN THE PART FAILED. FORD HAS DENIED HELPING ME WITH THIS ISSUE, AND I HAVE A BILL FROM DOWNTOWN FORD IN SACRAMENTO, CA IN THE AMOUNT OF $1009.35 FOR THE REPAIRS RELATED TO THIS DEFECTIVE PART.
STUMBLE/MISFIRE ON ACCELERATION FROM HIGHWAY CRUISE UP HILL CONDITIONS OR HARD ACELARECION EQPED WITH 3.5L ECOBOOST AND ENGINE LIGHT FLASHES . VERY DANGEROUS IN THE HIGHWAY BECOUSE MY THE TRUCK ENGINE STOPS WORKING AND YOU HAVE TO PULLOVER RIGHT AWAY IF YOU LUKY .
TRUCK WILL SHIFT GEARS AT ANY TIME. IT DROPPED TO FIRST GEAR UNEXPECTED WHILE EXITING INTERSTATE BACK TIRES LOCKED UP.JUST THANKFUL IT WASN'T 10 SECONDS BEFORE WHILE ON INTERSTATE NOW I DON'T DRIVE IT MUCH YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT'S GONNA SHIFT BY ITSELF. IT THROWS A CODE THAT SAYS IT THE SPEED OUTPUT SENSOR. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE SAME THING ON A 2012 MODEL BUILT IN DEARBORN AND KANSAS CITY BETWEEN AUGUST AND MARCH 2012. MY TRUCK WAS BUILT IN KANSAS CITY IN SEPTEMBER. MAYBE THAT RECALL SHOULD BE EXPANDED TO COVER ALL EFFECTED VEHICLES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD F-150. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND THE SHIFTER COULD NOT BE PLACED IN THE CORRECT POSITION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. IN ORDER TO OPERATE THE VEHICLE, IT HAD TO BE MANUALLY RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MARSHALL FORD LINCOLN (4200 E END BLVD S, MARSHALL, TX); HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 102,000.
ON SATURDAY JUNE 10, 2017 I WAS OUT OF TOWN WITH FAMILY IN CARY, NC. WE WERE LEAVING THE HOTEL PARKING LOT THAT MORNING AND WHEN I STARTED THE TRUCK AND PUT TRUCK IN REVERSE THE BRAKES DID NOT WORK.. AFTER LOOKING, I SAW THERE WAS NO BRAKE FLUID. THERE WAS NO BRAKE FLUID ON THE GROUND SO I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE COULD BE. I GOT MORE BRAKE FLUID THEN DROVE TO A MECHANIC. BY THE TIME I GOT TO THE MECHANIC (1 MILE DOWN THE ROAD) THE BRAKE FLUID WAS GONE AGAIN. AFTER THE MECHANIC LOOKED AT ISSUE, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER FAILED. THEY FOUND THAT THERE WERE NO PARTS AND IT TOOK UNTIL TUESDAY JUNE 13, 2017 TO GET PART AND REPAIR. THINKING THERE MUST BE AN ISSUE SINCE NO PARTS WERE AVAILABLE. I FOUND THAT 126 COMPLAINTS WERE REGISTERED REGARDING THE BRAKE BOOSTER ON 2013 FORD F150'S. AFTER CALLING FORD IT WAS DETERMINED THAT MY 2013 FORD F150 WAS NOT ON THE LIST. MY FORD F150 HAD THE EXACT SAME MAJOR ISSUE THAT THE FORD F150'S THAT WERE RECALLED. THIS IS VERY DISTURBING THAT THE BRAKES WENT OUT, ESPECIALLY AFTER WE HAD JUST DROVE THROUGH THE WEST VIRGINIA MOUNTAINS. I HAVE TALKED TO FORD MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS ISSUE. ONLY UNTIL THE PART IS PUT ON THE RECALL LIST FOR MY VIN# WILL FORD DO SOMETHING. I HAVE BEEN TOLD TO KEEP MY RECEIPTS JUST IN CASE IT IS PUT ON THE RECALL LIST. I FIND THIS VERY UPSETTING THAT THE EXACT SAME PART HAD BEEN RECALLED ON OTHER 2013 FORD F150, BUT MY VIN# WAS NOT ON THE LIST. I HAD THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AND THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A VERY BAD PROBLEM IF THIS HAPPENED IN THE MOUNTAINS THAT WE HAD DRIVING THROUGH. I HAVE THE PART THAT FAILED AND ALL RECEIPTS. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE STREET IT DECELERATES AND SHIFT OUT OF GEAR BUT IF I TURN IT OFF TURN THE KEY OVER, MOVE THE SHIFT COLUMN FROM DRIVE TO FIRST ,BACK TO DRIVE AND IF IT STARTS PROPERLY IT RUNS FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 TO 4 MILES AND THEN IT KICKS BACK OUT TO GEAR ACTS LIKE THERE'S NO GAS UNTIL I RESTART THE VEHICLE AT ONE POINT IT SHIFTED INTO FIRST LOCKED UP MY REAR END OF MY VEHICLE AS I WAS GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ALMOST CAUSING ME TO WRECK FORTUNATELY NO ONE WAS BEHIND ME.
VEHICLE WENT INTO "LIMP MODE" WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEED CREATING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS OCCURRED 2 MORE TIMES BEFORE I COULD GET AN APPOINTMENT AT THE DEALER. THE DEALER COULD NOTE FIND ANY CODES BUT DECIDED MY ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY WAS DEFECTIVE AND NOT COVERED UNDER MY POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE EXTENDED WARRANTIES FOR OTHER VEHICLES WITH THE SAME PART BUT WILL NOT INCLUDE MY VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED AFTER COASTING OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER (LEVITTOWN FORD, LLC, 3195 HEMPSTEAD TURNPIKE, LEVITTOWN, NY 11756, (866) 421-1288) WHO REPLACED THE FUSE AND RE-WIRED THE FUSE BOX PER A TSB. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THEY WOULD FOLLOW UP WITH A RESPONSE WITHIN 48 HOURS. THE CONTACT WANTED TO KNOW WHY A TSB HAD BEEN ISSUED AND IF THE DEALER STATED THIS WAS A KNOWN ISSUE, BUT THERE WAS NO RECALL ISSUED YET BY THE MANUFACTURER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,600.
BRAKES WENT COMPLETELY OUT WHILE DRIVING ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY, HAD TO USE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO FINALLY STOP TRUCK. FOUND OUT THERE IS A RECALL FOR 2013-2014 FORD F-150 FOR THIS PROBLEM, HOWEVER, FORD DID TAKE A REPORT TODAY, BUT, THEY SAID THIS TRUCK WAS NOT UNDER THE RECALL BECAUSE IT WAS MADE ON 9-19-2012 AND THE ONES UNDER THE RECALL #16V345000 WERE BUILT IN 2013. FUNNY THAT THIS IS THE EXACT PROBLEM YET NOT CONSIDERED PART OF THIS RECALL. THE REPAIR INVOLVED REPLACING THE MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER AND THE BRAKE BOOSTER WHICH COST $1193.25. WE WERE LUCKY NO ONE WAS INJURED OR WORSE. JUST HOPE THEY DO A VERY GOOD INVESTIGATION AND HOPE THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE WHO'S VEHICLE WAS BUILT IN 2012. THE OTHER NOTE IS, THE OIL DID NOT LEAK OUT ONTO THE GROUND, SO NO VISIBLE PROBLEM WAS SEEN, THE OIL WENT INTO THE BOOSTER. MADE A TURN AT AN INTERSECTION WITH MY KIDS AND MY F150 ECOBOOST LOST POWER. I THOUGHT WE WERE GONNA GET HIT. I HAVE HAD MY 2013 F150 INTO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE. THEY TELL ME TO DRIVE IT THEY ARE WAITING FOR A NEW COMPUTER PROGRAM FROM FORD. ENGINE LITE HAS BEEN ON FOR A MONTH OR MORE. DEALERSHIP KEEPS GIVING IT BACK. WAITING ON PROGRAM. VEHICLE I FEEL IS NOT SAFE.
I have had numerous brake issues on my 2013 Ford F-150 SuperCrew. One repair was done in the warranty period and 2-3 were not. This vehicle had less than 81,000 miles on it when all of this work was done. It was recently repaired and still isn’t solved. I’ve had two major accidents where my vehicle rear ended other vehicles because of its failure to immediately stop on braking. The dealership can’t solve the problem or don’t know how and I’m afraid to continue to drive this unsafe vehicle.

HE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 89,000.

SUDDEN DOWNSHIFT AT HIGHWAY SPEED. VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION, 60 MPH. SEVERAL OCCURRENCES UNTIL VEHICLE WAS SAFELY REMOVED FROM ROADWAY. SPEEDOMETER SHOWED "0 MPH" WHEN DOWNSHIFTS OCCURRED. REAR WHEELS SKIDDED ON DRY PAVEMENT CREATING EXTREMELY UNSAFE SITUATION. IT BEING UNSAFE TO DRIVE, HAD IT TOWED TO DEALER. STATED UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND TRANSMISSION DOWNSHIFTS TO LOWEST GEAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. SERVICE WRITER DESCRIBED PROBLEM AS SPEEDOMETER PROBLEM AND DID NOT STATE A SUDDEN DOWNSHIFT OCCURRED. SERVICE WRITER ENTERED MILEAGE AS 125,002 INSTEAD OF AROUND 40,000. I GAVE THE SERVICE WRITER SEVERAL PRINTED INSTANCES OF DOWNSHIFT OCCURRENCES I OBTAINED FROM VARIOUS WEBSITES. DID NOT SEEM INTERESTED. IF ANYONE SEARCHES DATABASES, THE PROBLEM WOULD SHOW AS A HIGH MILEAGE VEHICLE WITH A SPEEDOMETER PROBLEM, INSTEAD OF A LOW MILEAGE VEHICLE SUPPOSEDLY STILL UNDER WARRANTY WITH A SEVERE TRANSMISSION SAFETY ISSUE. COST, $1049.61 AND NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY (AS PER DEALER) AND SIMPLY A SPEED SENSOR ISSUE.
BATTERY DRAINS DOWN WHEN OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. SOMETIMES OVER NIGHT, SOMETIMES OVER 2-3 DAYS. CHANGED BATTERY AND IT DRAINS DOWN.
3.5 ECO-BOOST ENGINE ON TWO OCCASIONS PUT ME IN AN UNSAFE CONDITION BY CAUSING A LOSS OF THROTTLE RESPONSE. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENED A "WRENCH ICON" FLASHED WITH A LOSS OF POWER. NO THROTTLE RESPONSE UNTIL THE ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED. WHEN THESE INCIDENTS HAPPENED I WAS TOWING A TRAILER AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND HAD A DIFFICULT TIME PULLING OUT OF TRAFFIC ONTO THE SHOULDER. EACH TIME THIS HAPPENED A TROUBLE CODE OF P2112 WAS SET AND THE CEL CAME ON. THE THROTTLE BODY HAD TO BE REPLACED EACH TIME. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED I HAD 23131 MILES AND FORD REPLACED THE PART UNDER WARRANTY, THE SECOND OCCURRENCE WAS AT 45558 MILES AND I HAD TO COVER THE COST FOR REPLACEMENT. WITH THE LOSS OF POWER AT HIGHWAY SPEED THIS COULD LEAD TO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT IN NOT BEING ABLE TO MOVE OUT OF THE WAY OF TRAFFIC AT A CRITICAL MOMENT. THE FORD SERVICE MANAGERS CAN'T GIVE ME A REASON WHY THIS PART IS FAILING.
LEAKING MASTER CYLINDER AND POWER BOOSTER. DEALER SAYS IT'S NOT ON RECALL.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION UNEXPECTEDLY DOWNSHIFTED TO FIRST GEAR WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 50 MPH SUDDENLY WITHOUT WARNING CAUSING THE REAR TIRES TO SLIDE AND LOCK, AND THE CONTROL PANEL INSIDE THE VEHICLE IS BLINKED OUT NOT SHOWING ANYTHING.
THE TRUCK WAS PARKED, WHEN I STARTED THE TRUCK THE LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME ON AND THE PADDLE WENT TO THE FLOOR. ADDED BRAKE FLUID AND THE SAME RESULT, LOW BRAKE FLUID LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THERE WERE NO SIGNS OF FLUID LEAK UNDER THE TRUCK. HAD IT TOWED TO FORD DEALER. THEY STATED I NEEDED MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED.
