FUELCANASTER HAD UNDER 36000 MILE DEAL REFUSE TO REPAIR IT UNDER WARRENTY
TRAVELING NORTH ON I-85 IN GA AT 72 MPH; ABOUT 3 MILES SOUTH OF EXIT 28. MEDIUM RAIN AND TEMP IN THE MID TO UPPER 60'S. THE TIRE FAILED ON THE LEFT REAR AND BLESSED THAT I COULD DRIVE ON THE MEDIAN ABOUT 225 FT. THERE WAS NOT ANY ROAD HAZARDS, STRICTLY TIRE FAILURE!! MY WIFE IS EYE WITNESS.
TRUCK STALLS DUE TO THROTTLE BODY ACTUATOR STICKING. VEHICLE BECOMES DISABLED/STALLED AND APPLIES THE BRAKES. OCCURS WITHOUT NOTICE AT ANY SPEED. OCCURS ON HIGHWAY, CITY STREETS, AND DIRT ROADS. REQUIRES THROTTLE BODY REPLACEMENT. SIMILAR RECALLS DID OCCUR FOR THE FORD THROTTLE BODY FOR OTHER MODELS AND YEARS (E.G. 13N03 PROGRAM). DEALER INDICATES IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER POWERTRAIN WARRANTY (ALTHOUGH IT SHOULD BE) AND COSTS $600 TO REPLACE.
I HAVE A FORD F150 LARIAT THAT IS NOT 33 MONTHS OLD, HOWEVER I HAVE 49K MILES. I HAD TO REPLACE MY MOONROOF (OUT OF WARRANTY BECAUSE OF THE MILEAGE, WHICH SHOULD HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MOONROOF). THAT COST ME $2,155 IN SEPTEMBER 2017. ON 4/17/18, MY REPLACEMENT MADE THE SAME AWFUL SOUND AND IS BROKEN AGAIN THE MOONROOF MAKES A LOUD CRACKING SOUND LIKE IT WILL BREAK. IT THEN GETS STUCK OPEN OR CLOSED, BUT SOMETIMES NOT FULLY CLOSED. YOU HAVE TO PUSH IT WITH YOUR HAND WHILE PUSHING THE BUTTON SOMETIMES TO GET IT TO SEAL SHUT IN THE CASE OF RAIN OR OVERNIGHT. THERE IS A LOT OF RESEARCH ON THIS AND THIS IS QUITE REGULAR FOR FORD MOONROOFS. THEY SHOULD RECALL AND REIMBURSE ME FOR THE $2.1K I SPENT.
WHEN ENGAGING THE BRAKES, PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. CHECKED BRAKE FLUID RESIVOUIR AND IT WAS ALMOST EMPTY. REFILLED RESIVOUIR AND STILL SAME ISSUE. READ ONLINE ABOUT BREAKS AND SEEMS TO BE THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH THE 2013 AND 2104 3.5 ECOBOOST MODELS. CURRENTLY A RECALL ON THOSE MODELS FOR BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER REPLACEMENT. THIS IS AN OBVIOUS KNOWN ISSUE, BUT 2015-2016 MODELS DON'T HAVE A CURRENT RECALL YET. PLEASE ASSIST WITH RECALL FOR 2015-2016 MOD LS
TAILGATE DROPPING ON ITS OWN AFTER DRIVING ON WET ROADS AND ALSO HAPPENED INSIDE A CAR WASH.
MULTIPLE INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED WHERE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL APPLIES HARD DECELERATION TO THE VEHICLE WHILE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS WITHOUT WARNING OR WITHOUT AN OBJECT IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. APPROX TRAVEL SPEED HAS BEEN 65MPH AND VEHICLE COLLISION WARNING COMES ON AND INSTANTLY BRAKES CAUSING A 10MPH OR MORE DECELERATION. IT HAS HAPPENED ON CURVES OR WHEN DRIVING NEAR A TRUCK. RECENT INCIDENT WAS MOVING FROM RIGHT LANE TO THE LEFT LANE OF A HIGHWAY TO PASS A TRUCK AND ANOTHER VEHICLE WAS FOLLOWING MINE. AS I APPROACHED THE TRACTOR PORTION OF THE TRACTOR/TRAILER, MY TRUCK BRAKED HARD AND THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME NEARLY CRASHED INTO THE BACK OF MY VEHICLE. THE OTHER DRIVER WASN'T EXPECTING ME TO BRAKE WHILE PASSING ANOTHER VEHICLE TO ITS LEFT. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD AND THEY ADMITTED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE SYSTEM AND THAT IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE BUT THEY HAD NO PLANS TO FIX/RECALL THE ISSUE. QUESTION - HOW MANY REAR IMPACT ACCIDENTS/INCIDENTS/POTENTIAL INCIDENTS WILL IT TAKE FOR FORD TO ADDRESS THIS SERIOUS UNANNOUNCED BRAKING ISSUE. IT IS VERY UNNERVING TO BE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND THEN TO BE THROWN FORWARD FOR NO REASON BECAUSE YOUR VEHICLE BRAKES. FORD DID ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS IS A PROBLEM AND YET DOES NOT WISH TO ADDRESS IT LIKELY UNTIL THERE IS DEATH TO LAWSUIT AFTER WHICH IT WILL HAVE BEEN TOO LATE FOR SOMEONE. PLEASE EXERT WHATEVER PRESSURE YOU CAN TO GET VERIFICATION FROM FORD AND HAVE THEM ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM WITH A RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. THANK YOU. I HAD A WARNING ON THE DASH DISPLAY THAT THE BRAKE FLUID WAS LOW. I FIGURED I'D CHECK IT OUT AFTER I GOT HOME WHICH WAS ONLY 6 MILES AWAY. I CONTINUED TO GET ON THE FREEWAY (303 IN AZ) MY BRAKES SEEMED NORMAL. WHEN I STARTED TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY I NEEDED TO BRAKE TO MERGE WITH TRAFFIC AND THE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WITH NO BRAKES ENGAGING. I TRIED TO PUMP THEM AND GOT MINIMAL BRAKE PRESSURE IN MY PANIC. I SWERVED TO THE SHOULDER GOING AROUND 60 MPH TO MISS TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF ME. I SLOWED AND STOPPED AT THE LIGHT AND VERY SLOWLY WITH VERY LITTLE BRAKING MADE IT HOME. TOOK IT TO FIRESTONE AND HAD THEM LOOK AT IT. MASTER CYLINDER FAILED IS WHAT THEY WERE ABLE TO FIND FOR A CAUSE. REPLACED IT AND WORKS AS IT SHOULD NOW. IF THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH F-150S IT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. FROM WHAT I'VE READ ONLINE, IT IS. MY TRUCK ONLY HAS 44K MILES AND SHOULDN'T NEED A MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED. THE WRONG PERSON BEHIND THE WHEEL HAVING THIS HAPPEN COULD OF LED TO A VERY SERIOUS COLLISION. I'M GRATEFUL IT DIDN'T WITH ME.
LUG NUTS ON TRUCK GET SWOLLEN AND THE DEALER COULD NOT GET THE LUG NUTS OFF OF THE TRUCK. I HAD TO BUY TWELVE NEW LUG NUTS AT MY COST. THEY REPLACED WITH THE SAME LUG NUTS. IF YOU BREAK DOWN AND THE LUG NUTS ARE SWOLLEN YOU CAN NOT GET YOUR TIRE OFF TO CHANGE IT. THIS IS A SAFETY PROBLEM THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED, FORD WILL NOT PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF THE PART.
VEHICLE LOST POWER AND FLASHED 3 WARNING MESSAGES. 1) HILL START ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE. 2) SEE MANUAL. 3) SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC. IN ADDITION THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON. ALL OF THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN IN TRAFFIC ALMOST CAUSING A COLLISION. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IT HAS HAPPENED. AFTER FIRST TIME DEALER WAS CONTACTED AND SERVICE DEPARTMENT REPORTED NO PROBLEMS FOUND. APPOINTMENT CURRENTLY SCHEDULED TO LOOK AT IT AGAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR WAS PLACED IN NEUTRAL AND THE PARKING BRAKE WAS APPLIED IN ORDER TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SAN TAN FORD (1429 E MOTORPLEX LOOP, GILBERT, AZ 85297, (480) 821-3200) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE RESULTS WERE UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,700.
ON FREEWAY WHEN LOST ACCELERATION. INDICATOR ON DASH SAID UP HILL ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE AND AFTER CLINKING OKAY IT THEN READ SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC WITH THE MECHANIC WRENCH SHOWING. I'M ON THE SHOULDER OF FREEWAY, IN PARK, AND ENGINE RUNNING ROUGH AS IF ON ONLY TWO CYLINDERS. I WENT AHEAD AND PUT IT BACK IN DRIVE AND THERE WAS NOT THROTTLE AND TRANS WOULD NOT KICK IN. TURNED KEY OFF READY TO CALL TOW TRUCK BUT WENT AHEAD AND RESTARTED THE TRUCK AND ISSUE CLEARED ITSELF SO WE MOVED DOWN THE ROAD. THERE IS STILL AN UNDERLYING ISSUE, AS I AM TOLD BY MY FORD SERVICE WRITER, THE ETB NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND FROM WHAT I SEE ONLINE THIS IS NOT AN UNCOMMON ISSUE WITH THE ETB AND F150. THIS IS A MAJOR CONCERN AND I WAS FORTUNATE I WAS NOT TOWING MY TRAVEL TRAILER AT TIME WHICH COULD HAVE HAD MAJOR ISSUE GETTING TO SIDE OF FREEWAY SAFELY WITHOUT POWER, IF NOT REAR ENDED. SHOULDN'T THERE BE A RECALL BECAUSE OF SAFETY? FORD IS SELLING F150 EB AS QUALITY TOW VEHICLE ALTHOUGH THIS COULD GET SOMEONE HURT OR EVEN WORSE. DON'T GET ME WRONG, I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE F150 ECO BOOST AND ITS PERFORMANCE BUT THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BY FORD! AND NOT AT CUSTOMER EXPENSE!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WHILE ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN AND FAILED TO MOVE WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE HOME. THE CONTACT CALLED ALL AMERICAN FORD IN OLD BRIDGE (LOCATED AT 3698 ROUTE 9 S, OLD BRIDGE, NJ) AND WAS ADVISED TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 14,187.
I HAVE A 2015 F150 ECOBOOST WITH ABOUT 33000 MILES. I HAVE NOT YET HAD ANY BRAKES SERVICE. I HAVE BEEN TAKING MY TRUCK IN TO SERVICE REGULARLY AND JUST LAST WEEK HAD AN OIL CHANGE AND WAS INSPECTED AT FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID EVERYTHING WAS GOOD. FRIDAY MORNING AT 530AM I HAD MOVED MY TRUCK AND WORKED FINE, A COUPLE HOURS LATER I GOT BACK INTO MY TRUCK AND TRIED TO GO IN REVERSE BUT WHEN I STEPPED ON THE BRAKES THEY WERE COMPLETELY GONE. THE BRAKES WENT RIGHT TO THE FLOOR AND AN MESSAGED POPPED UP SAYING LOW BRAKE FLUID. I CHECKED AND THERE WAS NO LEAK ANYWHERE. THE CAR WAS PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY. I HAD CONTACTED FORD AND THEY SAID THEY ARE NOT AWARE OF THIS HAPPENING TO ANY OTHER TRUCKS BESIDE A RECALL OF PREVIOUS YEARS. MY 3 YEAR WARRANTY HAS JUST EXPIRED. THIS IS A VERY BIG SAFETY ISSUE.
STARTED 2015 FORD F150 IN MY DRIVEWAY MORNING OF 3-30-2018 AND BRAKE WARNING CAME ON STATING FLUID WAS LOW. ALSO BRAKE INDICATOR WAS ON. TESTED THE BRAKES AND THEY FUNCTIONED PROPERLY. ENTERED THE FREEWAY AND WAS TRAVELING AT 65 MPH WHEN I HAD TO APPLY BRAKES DUE TO FAST SLOWING TRAFFIC. BRAKES FAILED AS PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. HAD TO SWERVE TO MISS VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME. PUMPED BRAKES AGAIN AND GOT MINIMAL BRAKING AS PEDAL AGAIN WENT TO THE FLOOR. DOWNSHIFTED THE TRANSMISSION AND USED EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. PROCEEDED VERY CAREFULLY TO FORD DEALER THAT WAS LESS THAN A MILE FROM MY LOCATION. THEY DIAGNOSED THE VEHICLE WITH A MASTER CYLINDER AND BOOSTER FAILURE. COST $1,000.00. VEHICLE HAS 50K MILES ON IT AND IS METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED. FORD DEALER OFFERED NO EXPLANATION.
I HAVE A CONSTANT ISSUE IN TEMPS BELOW 25 DEGREES WHICH IS ABOUT 25% OF THE TIME IN MY PATROL AREA. THIS IS A STATE PATROL ISSUED PATROL VEHICLE. SPRAY NOZZLE FAILS TO OPERATE. PUMP CAN BE HEARD OPERATING BUT PRESSURE DROPS UNTIL INOP. CHECKED WASHER LINES, NON APPEAR TO BE FROZEN. NOZZLE DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE FROZEN EITHER. I HAVE TRIED ALL KNOWN FIXES, LOWER TEMP FLUID, A FLUID "BOOSTER", ALCOHOL ON NOZZLE ETC. THIS HAPPENS CONSTANTLY WHILE IN MOTION AS I WOULD ASSUME WIND CHILL TEMPS DECREASE. AFTER LETTING TRUCK SIT FOR 15 MINS OR SO ISSUE IS RESOLVED DUE TO OBVIOUS INCREASED UNDER HOOD TEMPERATURES. WITHIN MINUTES OF HIGHWAY DRIVING AND AGAIN LOWER WIND CHILL TEMPERATURES PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN. MAYBE A FREEZING PUMP ISSUE? DEALERSHIP STATED THEY HAD NO IDEA ABOUT ISSUE.
I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH FORD AFTER THEY' FIXED ' MY PERFECTLY WORKING DOORS AFTER A RECALL. THEY GAVE ME BACK MY VEHICLE AND THE DRIVERS DOOR DIDN'T WORK. THEY NEVER MENTIONED THAT PART UNTIL I GOT DOWN THE ROAD ... WHEN I CALLED THEY SAID THEY HAD THE WRONG PART AND TRIED TO FIX WITH A ZIP TIE... REALLY? LET'S FAST FORWARD FROM END OF MARCH... DOOR STILL DOESN'T WORK. I HAVE TO ROLL DOWN WINDOW TO GET OUT. PART IS ON BACK ORDER. AND THE BEST PART- THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN REGISTERED AS FIXED IN THE RECALL DATABASE FOR FORD SO I CAN'T TAKE IT TO ANOTHER DEALER WITHOUT PAYING. SO I AM DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICLE NOW THAT WAS SAFE GO FIGURE.
FORD F150 LARIAT 2015 CREW CAB SINCE IT WAS NEW (FEB 2015) HAS WEEKLY, HAD THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR LOCK STICK MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO OPEN THE DOOR EITHER FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER IN THE EARLY DAYS OF OWNERSHIP FOR WARRANTEE REPAIR BUT THEY NEVER COULD DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE WAS RECENTLY IN FOR A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR A CABLE ISSUE WITH THE DOOR OPENING SYSTEM WHICH COULD FAIL, ALLOWING THE DOOR TO EITHER NOT OPEN OR OPEN UNEXPECTEDLY. THE REPLACEMENT OF THE CABLE DID NOT FIX THIS PROBLEM AND IT CONTINUES UNTIL TODAY. ON MARCH 27TH I TOOK THE DOOR APART TO SEE IF I COULD LOCATE THE PROBLEM. I WAS CONCERNED AND ANXIOUS, THAT IF THE CAR WERE TO BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, ACCESS THROUGH THE PASSENGER REAR DOOR COULD BE BLOCKED, MAKING MY GRANDSON SUSCEPTIBLE TO POSSIBLE DANGER IF HE WAS IN HIS CAR SEAT. HE LIVES WITH ME AND I TAKE HIM TO SCHOOL EVERYDAY. TODAY THE DOOR JAMMED AT HIS SCHOOL AS IT DOES ON 25% OF THE DAYS I TAKE HIM TO SCHOOL WHICH CAUSES PROBLEMS IN THE SCHOOL UNLOADING ZONE. WHEN I GOT HOME I ONCE AGAIN TRIED TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I FOUND THE PROBLEM AND WILL NOW DESCRIBE IT. THE DOOR LOCK, JAMS IN A LOCKED POSITION IF THE DOOR IS LOCKED AND THE REAR PASSENGER WINDOW IS LOWERED MORE THAN 1". FROM THE 1" OPEN TO FULL OPEN POSITION, THE DOOR LOCK WILL NOT DISENGAGE OR PERMIT THE DOOR TO BE OPENED BY EITHER THE INTERIOR OR EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLES. THIS OCCUR NO MATTER WHAT THE OPERATING STATE THE VEHICLE IS IN. THE ELECTRIC LOCKING SYSTEM WILL NOT UNLOCK THE DOOR AND MANUALLY PULLING ON THE RELEASE BUTTON HAS ONLY RESULTED IN TEARING THE BUTTON FROM THE METAL ROD TO WHICH IT IS ATTACHED (WHICH HAPPENED TODAY). SO, ANY TIME THE WINDOW IS CRACKED OPEN FROM 1" TO FULL OPEN, THE LOCKING SYSTEM FREEZES IN THE LOCKED POSITION MAKING THE DOOR A HAZARD AND USELESS AS AN ENTRY OR EXIT MEANS.
THE PANORAMIC SUNROOF LOCKED UP ON ME WHEN I TRIED TO OPEN IT... IT WOULD NOT OPEN AND IT MAKES OBNOXIOUS NOISES UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS ... THERE ARE MANY YOU TUBE VIDEOS ON THIS REF. ISSUE... FORD IS REPLACING THE PARTS TO THE SUNROOF, I HAVE READ ON MANY FORD FORUMS THAT THIS 'QUICK FIX' WILL NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM ... ADDITIONALLY THE STEERING COLUMN ALWAYS FEELS LIKE IT'S POSITIONED OFF CENTER AND VEERS TO THE RIGHT... I HAD THE TRUCK ALIGNED, PROBLEM STILL EXISTS... ALSO I'VE HAD REOCCURRING ISSUES WITH MY SYNC/BLUETOOTH AND HAVE ADVISED MY SERVICE ADVISORS THAT THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS, WHEN I TALK TO ANYONE VIA THE BLUETOOTH I HEAR LOUD INTERMITTENT STATIC THROUGHOUT THE PHONE CALL AND THE FOLKS ON THE RECEIVING END OF THE CALL ALL SAY THAT THERE IS AN ECHO IN THE PHONE LINE FORCING ME TO END THE HANDSFREE SYNC CALL AND THEREFORE USING MY OWN BLUETOOTH... FORD SERVICE ADVISOR STATED IT WAS BECAUSE I HAVE AN APPLE IPHONE, I'M LESS THAN SATISFIED ABOUT HOW FORD IS HANDLING THIS ISSUE... I HAVE COMPLAINED MORE THAN 3 TIMES ON RECORD ABOUT THIS ISSUE
I HAVE A MOON ROOF THAT HAS NEVER BEEN OPEN. IT'S MAKING A SOUND LIKE SOMETHING IS RATTLING. I WENT TO OPEN IT FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE I BOUGHT IT TO SEE IF THE NOISE WOULD STOP. BUT IT WONT OPEN. I TOOK IT INTO FORD AND THEY SAID I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE THING.? WHY DO I NEED TOO? FORD NEEDS TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND FIX THE CHEAP PARTS THEY TRIED TO GET BY WITH.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED A LOCAL DEALER (MARK MCLARTY FORD, 4400 LANDERS RUN RD NORTH, LITTLE ROCK, AR 72117) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
The contact's husband owns a 2015 Ford F-150. The contact stated while driving at undisclosed speeds on several occasions, the contact observed a warning chime and the “See Service Manual”, and “Hill Descent Error” messages were displayed. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that on several occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and failed to accelerate as intended. VISTA ROOF HANGS UP WHEN TRYING TO OPEN AND CLOSE. DIAGNOSIS WAS TO REPLACE BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT SLIDING GLASS BRACKETS AND REINITIALIZE SUNROOF MOTORS AND RETEST SLIDING GLASS OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE BINDING OCCURRED. I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM OCCUR AT 52,622 MILES ON 10/31/2019. MY ROOF IS BOUND UP JUST LIKE THE ORIGINAL OCCURRENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING STATIONARY IN MY GARAGE AT THE TIME.

THE ERROR MESSAGE WAS "DRIVER HILL ASSIST NOT AVAILABLE" WHICH DID NOT CORRELATE TO THE PROBLEM AT ALL. THE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ALSO ILLUMINATED. AFTER GETTING THE TRUCK TO THE FORD SERVICE CENTER THEY FOUND THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY (ETB) HAD FAILED. I HAVE 50,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE SHOP SAID THAT THEY NORMALLY DO NOT STOCK MANY PARTS BUT THIS WAS ONE THEY ALWAYS KEEP IN STOCK. THE TECHNICIAN CLAIMED HE HAD SEEN 20+ FAILURES IN THE FAST YEAR. RESEARCH ON LINE INDICATED THAT THERE IS MORE THAN 60,000 COMPLAINTS IN FORD VEHICLES REGARDING THE FAILURE OF THIS ETB. THERE WAS ACTION INITIATED BY THE NHTS AND A RECALL WAS WAIVED PROVIDED THAT FORD EXTEND WARRANTY FOR THIS PART. THAT DID NOT HAPPEN IN MY CASE. MY BILL WAS $604.92 MORE IMPORTANTLY I COULD HAVE LOST POWER IN THE MIDDLE OF THAT INTERSECTION OR DURING A LONG DRIVE HOME WHERE NO CELL RECEPTION WAS POSSIBLE. I WAS LUCKY TO HAVE BROKEN DOWN IN A TOWN WITH A FORD SERVICE CENTER BEFORE MY 3.5 HOUR TRIP BACK TO DENVER. FYI, I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY SAID THAT I WAS NOT PART OF A "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM"... INTERESTING CHOICE OF WORDS, BECAUSE I DIDN'T FEEL LIKE I WAS PART OF ANYTHING AT FORD NOR WERE THEY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS ISSUE. IN FACT, THEY CLAIMED IT WAS NOT A SIGNIFICANT PROBLEM.

THIS HAS HAPPENED ON BACK ROADS AT SLOWER SPEEDS AND ON HIGHWAYS AT 70 MPH. AGAIN, ALL THROTTLE POWER IS LOST. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED ON NUMEROUS FORUMS AND THERE HAVE BEEN 2 CONSENSUS FIXES, REPLACE THROTTLE BODY AND AN APPARENT ISSUE WITH THE TIGHTNESS OF A THROTTLE CABLE.

THE DEALER PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V279000 (STEERING) AND NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: AQ17001 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
RECALL REMEDY DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. THE DRIVER DOOR DOESN'T LATCH AFTER OPENING WHEN AMBIENT TEMPERATURE IS BELOW FREEZING. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE, THE FIRST TIME LESS THAN 10 DAYS AFTER THE RECALL REMEDY WAS PERFORMED ON THE VEHICLE. MY TRUCK HAS PUSH-BUTTON START WITH KEYLESS ENTRY. THE DOOR UNLOCKS WHEN MY HAND IS DETECTED ON THE INSIDE OF THE DOOR HANDLE AND THE KEY FOB IS IN MY POSSESSION. THE FIRST INCIDENCE: I OBSERVED THE LOCK BUTTON POPPED UP AS I GRABBED THE DOOR HANDLE, UPON PULLING THE HANDLE, THE DOOR OPENS. I GOT INTO THE TRUCK, STARTED IT, THEN GOT OUT, BEFORE I ATTEMPTED TO CLOSE THE DOOR. I CLOSED THE DOOR, BUT INSTEAD OF LATCHING, I NOTICED IT BOUNCED OPEN AND RESTED A COUPLE OF INCHES FROM ITS CLOSED POSITION. A SECOND, THIRD, AND FOURTH ATTEMPT TO PUSH THE DOOR CLOSED ENDED WITH THE SAME RESULT. ACTUATING THE INSIDE HANDLE DID NOT CHANGE THE SYMPTOM. ACTUATING THE POWER DOOR LOCK, WHICH CYCLED BACK TO UNLOCK, DUE TO THE ENGINE RUNNING, DID NOT CHANGE THE SYMPTOM. I PRESSED THE POWER LOCK BUTTON AND QUICKLY PULLED THE DOOR HANDLE BEFORE THE UNLOCK CYCLE EXECUTED, THE LOCK BUTTON STAYED DOWN (LOCKED), THEN I CLOSED THE DOOR, THE DOOR LATCHED. I UNLOCKED THE DOOR AND OPENED IT, THEN CLOSED IT, IT LATCHED AND OPERATED NORMALLY. THE SECOND INCIDENT: THE DOOR BOUNCED OPEN, JUST LIKE THE FIRST INCIDENT. THE DOOR LATCH CONTINUED TO MISBEHAVE UNTIL I PRESSED THE MANUAL LOCK BUTTON THEN CLOSED THE DOOR. THE DOOR LATCHED. I PRESSED THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE KEY FOB. I OBSERVED THE DOOR LOCK BUTTON POP UP ONLY SLIGHTLY TO RETURN TO THE LOCKED POSITION. THE OTHER DOORS UNLOCKED. A FEW MORE ATTEMPTS WITH THE KEY FOB DID NOT UNLOCK THE DOOR. I ENTERED THE PASSENGER SIDE AND CLIMBED THE CENTER CONSOLE TO GET IN THE DRIVERS SEAT. I OPERATED THE DOOR HANDLE, WHICH ALSO UNLOCKS A LOCKED DOOR, THE DOOR OPENED, THEN CONTINUED TO OPERATE NORMALLY.

ALL, I HAVE A RECALL ON DOOR LATCHES, BUT A CAUSE MAYBE WATER GETTING IN THE DOORS, THEN FREEZING. YOU TRY TO OPEN AND BENDING ON RODS OCCUR. I HAVE APPROX 2 GALLONS OF WATER IN DOOR, AND FORD SAYS CLEAN OUT DRAIN...WHEN IS A DOOR SUPPOSED TO GET SOAKED AND HOLD WATER INSIDE? THIS CAN CAUSE LOTS OF PROBLEMS IN FUTURE. LOOK AT YOU TUBE VIDEOS 1000 HAVING THE PROBLEM. SO BAD IT'S GOING UNDER THE FLOOR. IN THE WORLD OF FLOODING A VEHICLE AND TOTALING DOES THIS BECOME THE ISSUE? IM AFRAID TO LOOK UNDER MY FLOOR, BECAUSE I WILL BECOME VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. I'M A LIFE LONG FORD OWNER AND LOOKING FOR GUIDANCE PLEASE.. I CALLED CORPERATE FORD FROM 1PM TO 215 PM ON 1/12/18 AND GET A RECORDING THEY CAN'T TAKE CALL GO TO FORD OWNER SITE AND HANG UP. IT'S THE 800 NUMBER EVERYONE CALLS. WHY IM HERE..
