2015 FORD F-150. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO AIRBAG PROBLEMS, IGNITION PROBLEMS AND VEHICLE TIRES ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE A/C BLEW OUT HOT AIR, THE TRANSMISSION WAS JERKY WHEN HE APPLIED THE BRAKE, THEN THE ACCELERATOR. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS FIRST STARTED, THERE WAS A LOUD GRINDING/GROWLING NOISE COMING FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE BY THE DRIVER FRONT WHEEL, THERE WAS EXCESSIVE CABIN NOISE, AND TIRE NOISE. THE ELECTRIC ENGINE FAN CAME ON WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS SITTING OUTSIDE IN THE HEAT, THE UNDERCARRIAGE WAS SHOWING SIGNS OF CORROSION. WATER WAS LEAKING THROUGH THE DRIVER ASSIST HANDLE GRIP NEAR THE WINDSHIELD. *JB
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY AND GOING TO PASS ANOTHER VEHICLE WHEN PASSING ALL OF A SUDDEN THE VEHICLE WILL GO FROM 70 MPH AND DROP TO AROUND 40 MPH WITH OUT NO INDICATION IT'S GOING TO DO THIS. NOW THIS VEHICLE WILL DO THIS ANYTIME ON HIGHWAY YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE PASSING ANYONE.
THE TRUCK IS EQUIPPED WITH ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL AND COLLISION ALERT SYSTEMS. INTERMITTENTLY, WHEN TRAVELING AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS WITH THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL ACTIVATED AND PASSING TRACTOR-TRAILER SIZED VEHICLES, THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL WILL FALSELY SENSE ANOTHER VEHICLE DIRECTLY IN FRONT AND ACTIVATE THE BRAKE SYSTEM, RESULTING IN RAPID DECELERATION OF THE TRUCK AND CREATING THE POTENTIAL FOR A COLLISION FROM BEHIND. WHEN THE SYSTEM ACTIVATES, THERE ARE NO OTHER VEHICLES IN FRONT OF THE TRUCK, ONLY IN THE ADJACENT LANE. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER HALF A DOZEN TIMES, AND HAS RESULTED IN NEAR REAR-END COLLISIONS FROM VEHICLES BEHIND THE TRUCK BECAUSE OF HOW RAPIDLY THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SLOWS THE TRUCK. PASSENGERS IN THE TRUCK HAVE BEEN THROWN INTO THEIR SEATBELTS FROM THE RAPID DECELERATION OF THE TRUCK. LUCKILY NO ONE HAS BEEN HURT, BUT THIS PRESENTS AN EXTREME SAFETY PROBLEM AND HAS RESULTED IN HAVING TO TURN OFF THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL AND COLLISION ALERT SYSTEMS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, A VEHICLE RAN THE STOP SIGN AND CRASHED INTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND LANDED IN A DITCH. THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED SERIOUS HEAD INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,040. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
2015 FORD F-150 MANUAL ON PAGE 263 HAS INSTRUCTIONS FOR PROPER SETUP OF AN EQUALIZING HITCH FOR TOWING A TRAILER. THE INSTRUCTIONS CALL FOR RETURN OF THE FRONT FENDER HEIGHT 25% OF THE WAY FROM HEIGHT WHEN LOADED WITH TRAILER TO HEIGHT WITH NO TRAILER. THIS IS THE OPPOSITE OF RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE HITCH MANUFACTURER WHO RECOMMENDS FRONT FENDER HEIGHT TO 75% OF THE WAY FROM LOADED TO UNLOADED CONDITION. IN THE WORDS OF THE HITCH MANUFACTURER "WHY WOULD YOU PUT ON AN EQUALIZING HITCH AND NOT SET IT UP TO DO WHAT IT'S INTENDED TO DO?". THE RESULT OF THE INSTRUCTIONS IN THE FORD MANUAL WOULD BE INADEQUATE EQUALIZATION, AND THEREFORE LOSS OF STEERING WITH A RESULTING POTENTIAL FOR ACCIDENT. I THINK THIS IS JUST A TYPO, BUT HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO FIND ANYONE AT FORD WHO WILL LISTEN AND FIND SOMEONE TECHNICAL ENOUGH TO CHECK IT OUT. *TR

DRIVERS SIDE SIDEVIEW MIRROR GLASS IS LOOSE AND WILL SHAKE GOING OVER BUMPS OR DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. DURING PARTICULARLY HIGH WIND, BUMPY HIGHWAY TRAVEL, IT CAN BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO DISCERN WHAT YOU ARE SEEING IN THE MIRROR, MAKING IT VERY DIFFICULT AND UNSAFE TO PERFORM LANE CHANGES. THIS HAS BEEN DESCRIBED BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY AS AN "UNFAVORABLE CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE".

DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH WHEN TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW 32 DEGREES DUE TO FAULTY DOOR LATCH. WHILE TRAVELLING DOWN THE ROAD THE DRIVERS DOOR WILL SWING OPEN UNLESS HELD SHUT BY DRIVER OR OTHER MECHANICAL MEANS. WE HAVE CONTACTED FORD AND THEY CONFIRM A PROBLEM AND SINCE ISSUED A TSB.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE ESC INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE PULLED TOWARDS THE RIGHT. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD F-150. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS IN RAIN OR EXCESSIVE SUNLIGHT, THE CONTACT'S VISION IN THE DRIVER SIDE REARVIEW MIRROR WAS OBSTRUCTED BECAUSE THE CHROME AIR VENT CREATED A GLARE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS RECOMMENCED THAT THE WINDOWS BE TINTED. THE WINDOWS WERE TINTED, BUT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. SINCE INITIAL TEST DRIVE, STEERING HAS BEEN DRIFTING AND PULLING. BEEN TO SERVICE 3 TIMES AND DEALERSHIP SAYS NORMAL WITH ELECTRICAL STEERING. UNSAFE AS VEHICLE IS CONSTANTLY DRIFTING OFF TRACK AND REQUIRES RESISTANCE ON STEERING WHEEL TO KEEP STRAIGHT.
WHILE THE CRUISE IS SET AND TRAVELING ON THE INTERSTATE, IN THIS CASE 70MPH, WHEN I PASS AN 18 WHEELER THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL SENSES AN IMMINENT COLLISION WHILE PASSING THE 18 WHEELER IN THE LEFT TRAVEL LANE. THE ADAPTIVE CRUISE IMMEDIATELY ALERTS AND ENGAGES THE BRAKES. FORTUNATELY, THIS HAS NOT YET RESULTED IN A REAR END COLLISION IN MY CASE HOWEVER I'M SURE AT SOME POINT IT WILL WITH OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE SINCE I PURCHASED THE F150 IN JANUARY(2015) AND BOTH OCCURRENCES HAPPENED WHILE PASSING A TANKER TRUCK SPECIFICALLY AND WHILE IN THE LEFT LANE- TANKER TRUCK WAS IN THE RIGHT LANE TRAVELING AT A SLOWER SPEED PERHAPS AROUND 60-65MPH. THIS DEFECT TO ME APPEARS TO BE VERY DANGEROUS BECAUSE IF MY F150 ENGAGES THE BRAKES FOR NO REASON AND THERE WERE TO BE CARS BEHIND ME A REAR END ACCIDENT COULD LIKELY OCCUR ON THE INTERSTATE. FORD HAS BEEN VERY SLOW IN RESPONDING TO THIS SAFETY CONCERN AND HAS NOT CAME UP WITH A FIX FOR THIS ISSUE. MANY ON INTERNET ARE VOICING CONCERN HOWEVER ARE TOLD BY DEALERS THAT THE SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING AS DESIGNED AND SENT ON THEIR WAY.

The 2015 F150 shifted itself from drive at 60mph to 1st gear. I as leading traffic when this occurred. The rest of traffic went around me as, I went to shoulder of rd. The F150 shuttered and was unable to be steered safely off the road. Warning lights flashed but as a driver I was unable to watch as traffic behind me was more important then watching F150. As a Simi was also close to me. This was a very scary event! As my husband was with me and is [XXX] he doesn't drive. Smoke came from under the vehicle. I see this is a common accurate with the F series of 2014. I would suggest checking the 2015. We have since had it fixed and it now drives better. I noticed a marked difference, from when I purchased it a few mos. Earlier. Seriously it could have been a wreck. Strong driving instinct is what saved us this time. GOES INTO LIMP MODE. Transmission shifts hard, slips, locks up. I've been having this issue for 2 years. Transmission seems to shift twice in 3rd and 5th gears, there's a jult then goes to limp mode, no excelleration. After a minute or so, it's stuck in 3rd or 5th gear. Wrench light appears. I have been pulling over, ( when it is safe ) plugging in my scanner, then erasing codes. P0755, P0740, P0741. This has been a temporary fix. I've had the valve body replaced 3 times, with the lead frame. And recalibrate to the ECM. Still having the same issues.
I became aware of a Ford F 150 Rear Camera recall. I found that out in 2025 but with research looks like there was also one in 2021. I did not receive the recall and contacted Ford. They do not show that either. I was contacting them because I had 2 accidents in 2024 that I believe were caused by the failure o the rear camera alert. I also have contacted my car insurance company regarding my claim. Ford in not communicating with me and my insurance company suggested I contact you. In Aug of 2024 on a Saturday I was having work done on my house so prked my 2008 Audi across from my driveway. Later in the day when I needed to drive my F150 I backed out of my garage and hit the Audi. No alerts came on with the camera. The next day I went to church and pulled in to a spot then backed up wo straigten out. I hit a car that was driving past my spot. Again the alerts never went on. I believe both of these are related to the failure of my rear camera. I am shocked that my truck is not on the reall list as I believe the rear camera needs to me replaced. I am also looking for process to fill a claim against ford for my accidents. Any informaton or thoughts would be appreciated. [XXX] and [XXX] email [XXX] [XXX] . SEVERAL TIMES WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY MY 2015 F150 TRUCK AUTOMATICALLY SHIFTS GEARS DOWN CAUSING THE TRUCK TO SEEM IF IT CANT GET GAS. iT GOES INTO THE LOWEST GEAR. THEN ALL OF SUDDEN IT WILL STOP AND GO NORMAL. THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH DRIVING BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY PROBLEM. THIS CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT . RED MCCOMBS DEALERSHIP ON I 10 IN SA TEXAS IS WHERE I GO THEY DONT WANT TO FIX ANYTHING ON A RECALL AND YOU HAVE TO PAY EACH TIME AND THEN THEY DONT FIX.
