WHEN MAKING RIGHT OR LEFT TURNS, A CLICKING SOUND OCCURS

ENGINE DEVELOPED FIRE ON RIGHT REAR SECTION OF THE ENGINE NEAR THE TURBO. DOES THIS TRUCK HAVE A HISTORY OF ENGINE FIRES? CAUSE OF FIRE IS UNKNOWN. *AK
THE VEHICLE IS NOT PROVIDED WITH EXHAUST MANIFOLD GASKETS WHICH CAUSES FASTENER FAILURES CAUSING EXHAUST LEAKAGE DIRECTLY FROM THE CYLINDERS. THE EXHAUST THEN ENTERS THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. *AK
MY 1995 F250 FORD PICKUP BURNED UP WHILE PARKED. ABSOLUTELY NO-CONTACT FROM FORD MANUFACTURING SINCE THE INCIDENT - EVEN AFTER I TRIED TO CONTACT FORD ON SEVERAL OCAASIONS - COULD GET THROUGH TO PHONE OPERATOR BUT NO RESPONSE FROM FORD MOTOR CO.

WHENEVER THE WHEELS ARE TURNED, THE RIVETS WOULD COME LOOSE & MAKE LOUD NOISES. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER & THE MECHANIC. THIS PROBLEM HAD HAPPENED BEFORE. WAS NOT CHECKED THE FIRST TIME. *AK
FRONT LEFT SPRING IS RATTLING, AND THERE IS SOME TYPE OF KNOCKING NOISE. DEALER CAN'T DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. *AK
BOTH FRONT ROTORS CRACKED IN TWO / THREE PLACES, CAUSING NOISE. REPLACEMENTS WERE DONE. THE REAR DRUM & BRAKE SHOES WERE REPLACED DUE TO FAILURE. *
FUEL LINES CUT BY EDGE OF FIREWALL CAUSING LEAK. *YC
ACCORDING TO SERVICE TECH AT DOERSCH FORD IN GREEN BAY WI, THEY HAVE REPLACED SEVERAL TRANSMISSIONS ON THESE PICK UP TRUCKS. HE ALSO SAID FORD KNOWS THAT THIS TRANSMISSION WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGH FOR THE DIESEL MOTOR, AND THEY HAVE SINCE REDESIGNED THE ENTIRE THING.
I NOTICED THE SIDEWALLS ON MY TRUCK TIRES WERE UNEVEN AND SHOWING BULDGING ON ALL FOUR TIRES. I TOOK THE TIRES TO A LOCAL FIRESTONE DEALER AT 115 W. 3RD ST., SPOKANE WA. 99204. PHONE 509-838-8565. THE STORE REPRESENTIVE LOOKED AT THE TIRES AND STATED THAT THE SIDEWALLS WERE BAD AND REPLACED THE TIRES AFTER PRORATING THEM AT 38% COLLECTED. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED WITH A LIKE TIRE, WILDERNESS A/T TIRES. *AK( DOT NUMBER: VNOR1WW225 TIRE SIZE: 235/85/R16 )
TRUCK WILL NOT EXCEED 35MPH, THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE PURCHASE,NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO IT WILL NOT STOP, SHIFT DOWN, ACELERATE,FLOORBOARD IT,SHIFT UP OR DECELERATE, ABOUT A MILE LATER, MOTOR CHANGES TONE AND IT RUNS RIGHT, HAD IN SHOP NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO FIX./ JERKING HAPPENS AT 48 MPH, AND CONTINUES UNTIL EXCELERATION, OR DECREASE IN SPEED. HAD IN SHOP NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO FIX. BOTH PROBLEMS HAVE COST US A LOT OF MONEY.*AK
BOTH FRONT ROTORS ARE CRACKED ONLY ON THE OUTER FACE, IT IS A SINGLE CRACK ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE FACE AND FORD IS REFUSEING TO TAKE CARE OF THIS UNDER WARRENTY
UPON STEEPING ON BRAKE PEDAL, IT GOES ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR WHICH INDICATES BRAKE PROBLEMS. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
ON 2-8-99 I NOTICED THE SIDEWALLS ON THE 4 TIRES ON THE GROUND WERE STARTING TO SERPERATE. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO FIRESTONE DEALER, HE LOOKED AT MY TIRES. CALLED FIRESTONE, AND REPLACED ALL 4 TIRES WITH SAME STYLE AND KIND. I WAS TOLD THY HAD A DEFECT IN SIDEWALL AND COULD BLOW OUT. I HAVE BEEN SCARED OF THESE TIRES AS THEY JUST DONT LOOK RIGHT. I BELIEVE THIS TO BE FAULTY TIRES, I NOTICED FRIDAY THAT THESE TIRES ARE BEING QUESTIONED BY YOU, AND SHOULD BE AS I FEEL THEY ARE UNSAFE. (TIRESIZE: 23585R16)( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: 23585R16 )
WHILE DRIVING IN SNOW AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH. WITH 4-WHEEL DRIVE ENGAGED, DRIVER'S SIDE HUB LOCKED UP AND DRIVER LOST CONTROL OF VEHICLE, RESULTING IN A CRASH. DEALER CONTACTED, AND PROBLEM REMEDIED UNDER EXTENED WARRANTY *AK
DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT TRACK AND SEAT IS BROKEN, CAUSING THE CONSUMER TO BE HELD BY THE SPRINGS AND NOT BY THE SEAT. *AK
RADIATOR LEAKS FROM SOMEWHERE, THERE DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE ENOUGH ANT-FREEZE STAYING IN THE RADIATOR. DEALER CONTACTED AND CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
BRAKES ARE DEFECTIVE, EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE OCCURS WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED. DEALER AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. ALSO, TRANSMISSION MAKES NOISES AND SKIPS. *AK *ML
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER WOULD HEAR LOUD NOISES. THEN THE AUTOMATIC 4-WHEEL DRIVE LOCKING HUB GOES OUT, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO BECOME A 2-WHEEL DRIVE. WILL BE TAKING VEHICLE TO DEALER. *AKDEALER REPLACED WITH MANUAL HUBS. * ADJ
SUSPENSION FRAME BOLTS AND NUTS HAD TO BE REPLACED OR TIGHTENED. HAD HEARD NOISES & TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR REPAIRS. *AK
CONSUMER WAS BACKING OUT FROM THE GARAGE AND THE FRONT WHEEL BROKE OFF. TOOK CAR TO THE DEALER TO BE FIXED, AND IT COST HIM $ 1200.00 FOR AXLE REPAIRS. THE BRACKET WAS BENT DOWN ALLOWING SHAFT TO COME OUT OF DIFFERENTIAL AND FRONT WHEEL TO ANGLE OUT. *AK
THE VEHICLE HAS HAD TRANSMISSION/AND OR ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS SINCE IT WAS PURCHASED. EVERY FEW WEEKS THE ENGINE COMPUTER PICKS UP A TROUBLED CODE. THE CODE IS TCC/OR TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH FAILURE.THE VEHICLE THEN GOES INTO SAFE MODE,AND RUNS ON PREDETERMINED VALUES SET BY THE ENGINE COMPUTER.THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS EXTREMELY HARD DURING THIS CONDITION.(AUTOMATIC E40D). THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED, AND HAS FAILED TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I HAVE TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO 2 TRANSMISSION SHOPS, AND THEY CANT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. SINCE THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM, MY NEXT COURSE OF ACTION IS TO SEEK RELIEF UNDER THE USED VEHICLE LEMON LAW. *AK
THE FRONT HUBS ARE ENGAGING INTO FOUR WHEEL DRIVE WHEN COMING OUT OF A STOP. TOOK TO DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM WAS COMING FROM THE TIE RODS AND THE STEERING LINKAGE HAD TO BE REPLACED. *AK
REAR BRAKES WORN OUT, AND THE BRAKE CABLES WERE MANUFACTURED IMPROPERLY.
PROBLEM FIRST CAME TO MY ATTENTION WHEN I STARTED NOTICING A CLUNKING NOISE FOLLOWED BY THE FRONT 4 WHEEL DRIVE HUBS INGAGEING WHEN PROCEEDING FROM A STOP. THE PROBLEM IS QUITE CLEARLY PREMATURE WARE, AND POSSIBLY A SAFETY PROBLEM. AS THE VEHICLE WAS TECHNICALLY OFF WARANTY (6 MONTHS), FORD OFFERED TO PICKUP 1/3 OF THE COST, THE DEALER 1/3, AND MYSELF THE REMAINDER WITH LITTLE DEBATE ABOUT IT. FORD HOWEVER REFUSED TO PICKUP THE REMAINDER OF THE COST.
MASTER AND SLAVE CYLINDERS KEEP GOING OUT AND THE TWO WORK TOGETHER TO MAKE THE CLUTCH. DEALER CANNOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING BRAKING SYSYTEM MALFUNCTIONED, WHICH COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. ALSO, BOTH FRONT BRAKE ROTORS CRACKED IN TWO PLACES. DEALER REPLACED FRONT BRAKE ROTORS AND PADS. *AK
DEALER CLAIMED WHEN WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE THAT IT HAD AN AIRBAG RESTRAINT. HOWEVER ACCORDING TO MY OWNERS MANUAL, IT SHOULD HAVE AN SRS MARKING ON THE CENTER OF THE STEERING WHEEL. IT DOES NOT. IT ALSO HAS AN AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD, THAT SHOULD LIGHT UP WHENEVER THE IGNITION IS TURNED ON. IT DOSENT LIGHT UP. I CHECKED THE FUSE PANEL DIAGRAM TO LOCATE THE FUSE. IT CLEARLY INDICATES A FUSED LOCATION FOR THE AIRBAG CIRCUT. HOWEVER UPON EXAMINING THE FUSE PANEL, THE ENTIRE SECTION WHERE THE AIRBAG FUSE SHOULD BE, IS NOT THERE. LEADING ME TO BELIEVE THAT IT HAS BEEN DISCONNECTED. I ALSO KNOW FOR A FACT, THAT THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. I FOUND OVERSPRAY ON THE MOLDINGS ON THE DRIVERS SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, AND A 4X4 DECAL ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IS MISSING FROM THE REAR PANEL. I TRUELY BELIEVE THAT THE AIRBAG HAS BEEN DEPLOYED, AND IT WAS NOT REPLACED. MY OWNERS MANUAL SAYS THAT IT HAS ONE, BUT THE EVIDENCE SUGGESTS IT DOES NOT. I FEEL THAT IF THE DEALER HAS PURPOSELY MISLEAD US, AND IS KNOWINGLY COMPROMISING OUR SAFTEY. HE SHOULD BE FINED OR HIS LICENSE SHOULD BE REVOKED. I AM ALSO FURNISHING THIS INFORMATION TO THE NYS ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE/ USED CAR LEMON LAW. IN ADDITION TO THIS IS MY ONGOING TRANSMISSION PROBLEM WITH THIS VEHICLE THAT I PREVIOUSLY REPORTED TO YOU. THANK YOU. *AK
WHEN TURNING THE STEERING WHEEL, THE STEERING SYSTEM STICKS TO THE SIDE WHERE TURNING, AND NO NOISE AT ALL IS HEARD. THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL THE TIME. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ON UNEVEN PAVEMENTS THE VEHICLE VIBRATED VIOLENTLY. THE DEALER SAID THAT A SCREW ON THE SIDE OF THE TWIN I-BEAM CAME LOOSE. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED IT. *AK
VEHICLE IN FOR OIL CHANGE DUE TO LEAKAGE. MECHANIC NOTICED OIL PAN HAD RUSTED WHICH CAUSED THE LEAKAGE. IT HAD RUSTED FROM THE INSIDE TO OUTSIDE. IT HAD TO BE REPLACED. *AK
COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE, CAUSING JERKING WHILE SHIFTING.
THE TRANSMISSION BEARINGS HAVE PREMATURELY FAILED BECAUSE OF LACK OF LUBRICATION, CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO LOCK UP. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING STEERING LINKAGE FAILED, VEHICLE LOST CONTROL, RESULTING IN A CRASH/INJURIES. ALSO VEHICLE WAS TOTALED.
BOTH BRAKE ROTORS CRACKED ON TWO SEPARATE ACCASIONS . FORD REPLACED THE FIRST BAD SET UNDER WARRANTY, BUT WONT ADMIT THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG & WONT REPLACE THEM AGAIN.I'VE ALSO GOT AN EXHAUST LEAK THAT THEY TEMPERARILY FIXED UNDER WARANTY.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD HAS A LEAK, LOCATED ON THE INSIDE BY THE MOTOR, NOT NEAR MUFFLER. WHEN SITTING FUMES COME THROUGH THE AIR CONDITIONER. DEALER CONTACTED, AND STATED REPAIRS CAN BE MADE AT CONSUMER'S EXPENSE. *AK
REPEATED FORD F250 EXHAUST MANIFOLD LEAKS. PROBLEM PERSIST ON 1990 & NEWER FORD F250 PICKUP TRUCKS. HEALTH PROBLEMS TO PERSONS IS A DEFINITE CONCERN. EMISSION ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY IS A BIG CONCERN. FORD MOTOR COMPANY NEEDS TO BE CONTACTED AND RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM FOR POSSIBLE HEALTH HAZARDS AND RECALLS. THROUGHOUT THE VARIOUS EMISSION SERVICING COMPANIES, PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS COMMONLY KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE 1990S & NEWER F250 FORDS. PERSONNALLY, I HAVE REPLACED ONE MANIFOLD ON MY 1995 F250 FORD IN SEPT OF 97. AND NEEDING TO REPLACE A SECOND MANIFOLD IN DECEMBER OF 98. IN RESEARCHING THIS, I HAVE FOUND THAT IT IS NOT ONLY A COSTLY PROBLEM BUT ALSO COULD BE AN ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERN AS SOME FOLKS ARE FIXING THESE MANIFOLDS PROBLEMS BY PUTTING ON HEADERS INSTEAD.
WHEN DRIVING THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD STARTS TO MAKE A HISSING NOISE. THE MANIFOLD HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES. DEALER SAYS THAT THERE IS A BAD BATCH OF MANIFOLDS. *AK
SERPENTINE BELT CAME OFF WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, BREAKING FAN BLADES.
VEHICLE'S FRONT SUSPENSION FRAME BRACKET THAT ATTACHES TO THE AXLE BROKE OFF ON RIGHT WHEEL BRACKET. *AK
BOTH REAR WHEEL CYLINDERS ARE LEAKING. *AK
BOTH REAR WHEEL CYLINDERS WERE LEAKING. *AK
THE FRONT LEFT ROTOR HAS CRACKED AND THE LEFT FRONT IS STARTING TO CRACK. THE CRACKING IS AFFECTING THE BRAKING PERFORMANCE. *AK
BUSHING FROM CLUTCH PEDAL LINKAGE TO CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER FAILED CAUSING THE MASTER CYLINDER PLUNGER ROD TO SLIP OFF PEDAL LINKAGE. THIS ENGAGES CLUTCH CAUSING UNEXPECTED VEHICLE LUNGE.
AT 33,000 MILES THE VEHICLE'S HUB CAP HAD LOOSE FITS. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER 4 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM. IT BEGAN AT APPROX.15,000 MILES, AND THERE IS LOUD RATTLING NOISE FROM WHERE IT TOUCHES THE WHEEL AND WEARS THE HUB CAP. *AK
BRAKE CALIPERS STICK.
THE STRUCTURE FRAME IS CRACKING . *AK
BOLTS ARE LOOSENING FROM THE FRAME AND THE FRONT END COULD DROP. REPAIR SHOP SAID IT WAS DANGEROUS BUT DRIVER DID NOT REPAIR VEHICLE BECAUSE HE DID NOT FEEL THAT HE SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR IT. *AK
