HAVE A 2003 FORD F-250 WITH THE 5.4L TRITON ENGINE I HAVE OWNED THE TRUCK APPROX. 6MONTHS AND IN A MATTER OF 1000 MILES I HAVE BLOWN 2 SPARK PLUGS AND INSERTS OUT, THIS REPAIR HAS COST ME $300 EACH TIME AND $150 IN TOWING FEES,I AM WAITING TO SEE WHEN THE OTHER ONES WILL BLOW, THIS PROBLEM IS WELL KNOWN BY ALL MECHANICS AND MAKE THE REPAIRS OFTEN, IF THIS PROBLEM IS SO WELL KNOWN MAYBE FORD SHOULD ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND DEMAND A RECALL OF ALL VEHICLES WITH THIS WELL KNOWN ISSUE, THIS PROBLEM ALSO CAUSES OTHER ISSUES, LIKE ENGINE FIRES DUE TO THE FUEL FUMES ESCAPING FROM WHERE THE SPARK PLUG SHOULD BE, WHEN I TRY TO RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM I SEE THAT THERE IS A WEBSITE DEDICATED TO THIS TRUCK AND PROBLEM SO APPARENTLY FORD IS WAITING FOR AN ENGINE BLOWUP TO KILL SOMEONE BEFORE THEY TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY. *TR
The contact owned a 2003 Ford F-250. The contact stated that while her husband was driving home, there was black smoke coming from the exhaust, with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the residence and turned off. The contact stated that while attempting to restart the vehicle, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where the vehicle was diagnosed, and the contact was informed that the engine was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 171,000.
#5 SPARKPLUG SHOT OUT OF THE HEAD WHEN STARTING VEHICLE. *TR
I OWN A 2003 FORD F250 7.3 LITER DIESEL PICKUP. ON INSPECTION, REQUIRED BY PA LAW FOR SAFETY REASONS, IT FAILED BECAUSE OF ROTOR RUST. I THEN HAD TO REPLACE ALL FOUR BRAKES AND ROTORS AT A CONSIDERABLE COST TO ME. . THE TRUCK HAD 33,309 MILES ON IT AND WAS STORED AND USED SIMILAR TO THREE OTHER OLDER VEHICLES I OWNED THE SAME THING OCCURRED ON THIS TRUCK AT 19,750 MILES WHEN IT WAS 3 YEARS OLD. THE EARLIER RUST ISSUE WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. RUSTING BRAKE PADS ARE UNACCEPTABLE IN TODAY'S WORLD. I HAVE NEVER HAD THIS TYPE OF PROBLEM IN THE PAST AND SUSPECT FORD IS USING SUB STANDARD STEEL. OTHER PARTS ON THIS TRUCK HAVE RUSTED OUT AND I WILL ENTER SEPARATE REPORTS ON THOSE PROBLEMS. *TR
2003 FORD F250 FRONT AUTO LOCKING HUBS NOT WORKING (FAIL TO UNLOCK OR LOCK) CAUSING CV JOINTS TO FAIL FOR THE SECOND TIME!!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FORD 250 WITH GENERAL GRABBER AT2 TIRES; SIZE 235/85/16. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DRIFT ACROSS THE ROADWAY. HE THEN DRIVER REDUCED THE VEHICLES SPEED TO 50 MPH. AFTER TWO NEW TIRES WERE MOUNTED ON THE VEHICLE THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE TIRES AT THIS TIME HAVE NOT BEEN DETERMINED AS THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE STEERING ASSEMBLY WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 131,681. FORD'S RECALL POLICY FOR CRUISE SWITCHES ONLY ALLOWS FOR DISCONNECT OF SWITCH. IF THE SWITCH IS LEAKING BRAKE FLUID FORD OFFERS NO FIX FOR THIS POTENTIALLY SERIOUS PROBLEM. DEALERS, WHILE NOT HAVING ALL REPAIR PARTS, HAVE SWITCHES THEY CAN INSTALL TO STOP THE LEAK BUT FORD WILL NOT PAY FOR THIS REPAIR. *TR

WHEN IN A SLOW ACCELERATION THE MOTOR RPM WILL RACE AND YOU HAVE TO QUICKLY APPLY THE BRAKE IN ORDER TO AVOID A MISHAP. THE NEXT THING THAT IS A SAFETY HAZARD IS THE CAB FILLS WITH DIESELS FUMES. MAKING EVERYONE NAUSEAS. ACCELERATION FROM STOP VEHICLE BILLOWS WHITE SMOKE AND IS SLUGGISH. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FORD F250. THE VEHICLE HAS PRO COMPETITION XTREME A/T TIRES, SIZE 325/50R20. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE TREAD ON THE TIRES SEPARATED. THE CONTACT FELT A SLIGHT VIBRATION WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE MECHANIC HAS NOT YET INSPECTED THE TIRES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 88,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FORD F250. THE VEHICLE HAS REPLACEMENT FTS YKS TIRES THAT WERE PURCHASED ON OCTOBER 27, 2004. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES ARE OUT OF ROUND AND THAT HE RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE NUMBER 07T003000 (TIRE:TREAD/BELT) ON JULY 26, 2007. THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 40,282.
CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSOR ( CPS ) FAILURE, TRUCK ENGINE STOPS RUNNING. FORD DEALERSHIP REPLACED IT AT COST OF $388.*AK
THIS IS THE SECOND GOODYEAR WRANGLER (KEVLAR) TIRE THAT HAS BLOWN OUT COMPLETELY WITH IN A YEAR. THE FIRST TIME A MESQUITE THORN CAUSED THE ENTIRE SIDE TO BLOW OUT; LAST WEEK IT WAS A LITTLE ROCK THAT CAUSED SEPARATION AND BLOW OUT AGAIN. FOR AS MUCH AS THESE TIRES COST THEY ARE A DANGER WHEN A LITTLE THING LIKE A THORN OR ROCK CAUSES A COMPLETE SEPARATION. DISCOUNT TIRE EVEN SAID THEY HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH A SEPARATION. *JB
TL*- THE CONTACT STATED THAT ON 11/01/06 HE COULD HEAR THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND HE COULD SMELL FUMES COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE 2003 FORD F250 WAS TAKEN TO SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS, AND HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE MANIFOLD BOLTS BROKE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE MANIFOLD BOLTS, AND THIS WAS ONLY A TEMPORARY REPAIR. HE HAS BEEN INFORMED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THIS WAS AN ONGOING PROBLEM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ONLY WAY TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM WAS TO TAKE THE HEADS OFF THE ENGINE AND DRILL THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD HOLDS AND REASSEMBLE WITH LARGER BOLTS. DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH THE TREAD COMPLETELY DETACHED FROM THE TWO TIRES ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. ANOTHER TIRE HAD A VIOLENT TREAD SEPARATION AT 55 MPH. WHICH CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AND INCURRED DAMAGES TO THE WHEEL ALIGNMENTS, FENDER, BUMPER, SUSPENSION AND OTHER PARTS UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALERSHIP, WHO REPLACED ALL COOPER/DOMINATOR TIRES AND REPAIR THE DAMAGES CREATED AS A RESULT OF THE FAILURE TIRES.
I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW UNIROYAL LAREDO TIRE NEAR AUSTIN, TEXAS AT AN NTB STORE. THE NTB STORE PUT THE TIRE ON THE RIGHT FRONT OF MY 2003 FORD F-250. WITHIN 10 MINUTES OF LEAVING THE NTB STORE, THE TIRE CATASTROPHICALLY FAILED AND I WAS BARELY ABLE TO BRING MY TRUCK (PULLING A LARGE GOOSENECK TRAILER) UNDER CONTROL ON I-35. THE FAILURE COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS NOT ONLY FOR ME, BUT FOR MANY OF THE OTHER PEOPLE DRIVING ON I-35, AS VEHICLES HAD TO QUICKLY MOVE OUT OF MY WAY AS MY TRUCK WAS DRAGGED ACROSS AT LEAST ONE LANE OF TRAVEL, THE SHOULDER AND INTO THE GRASS ON THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. AFTERWARDS, THE ENTIRE SIDEWALL OF THE TIRE WAS FOUND TO HAVE BEEN RIPPED OFF THE TIRE AND MY WHEEL WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED. CLEARLY, THIS TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE IN ITS MANUFACTURER. *JB
2003 FORD F 250 4X4 ALIGNMENT 6 TIMES... THIS TRUCK EATS TIRES.. FRIEND HAS 2005 ALIGNED 4 TIMES... DEALER SAYS NOT A PROBLEM... MUST BE AS I HAD A 1991 FOR 12 YEARS AND NOT ALIGNMENT PROBLEM. *JB
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MPH THE VEHICLE HIT A PATCH OF BLACK ICE AND FISH TAILED. THE VEHICLE WENT OUT OF CONTROL, FLIPPED END OVER END AND LANDED IN THE MEDIAN. THE PASSENGER AND DRIVER WERE NOT WEARING SEAT BELTS. THE DRIVER DIED AS A RESULT OF INJURIES SUSTAINED IN THE ACCIDENT AND THE PASSENGER SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES. THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE SCENE. THE VEHICLE WAS A TOTAL LOSS. *NM UPDATED 2/7/2006 - *NM
WHEN TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND YOU HIT A POTHOLE OR BUMP IN THE ROAD THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SHIMMIES TO POINT OF BEING UNCONTROLLABLE. ONCE YOU SLOW DOWN THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY. THIS HAS OCCURED ON AT LEAST 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. ONCE AT APPROXIMATE MILEAGE 16,100, 20,600 AND 21,009. THE SPEED WAS AT HIGHWAY SPEED 60-65 MPH.
2003 FORD F250 PICK UP TRUCK FREQUENTLY WILL NOT GO INTO REVERSE. IT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER SEVERAL TIMES AND THE COMPUTER CANNOT FIND A PROBLEM, HOWEVER ON THE ROAD THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. JERRY DUNCAN FORD IN HARRIMAN, TN CANNOT/WILL NOT AGREE TO COME TO THE SITE WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURS AND THEREFORE THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *NM
DT: AT 9 PM VEHICLE PARKED VEHICLE IN DRIVEWAY AND IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. VEHICLE HAD SAT FOR ABOUT 10 HOURS. VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES BEFORE IT WAS PARKED. THERE WERE NO INDICATIONS FROM MECHANICS UPON REGULAR INSPECTION THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. NO PROBLEMS WITH VEHICLE BEFORE AND NO MODIFICATIONS. A NEIGHBOR KNOCKED ON CONSUMER'S DOOR AND ADVISED HIM THAT THERE WERE FLAMES COMING FROM THE DASHBOARD AND THE HOOD AS WELL. BY THE TIME FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED THE WINDOWS WERE GONE, INSIDE DESTROYED. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT, CUT THE BATTERY CABLES, AND THEN SHOWED THE OWNER THAT BATTERY POST WAS ABLE TO TURN 360 DEGREES, WHICH MEANT THE POST WAS LOOSE. ALSO, THE FIRE DEPARTMENT REPORTED THAT IT WAS AN ELECTRICAL FIRE. OWNER CONTACTED THE DEALER, WHO WAS UNCONCERNED, AND TOLD THE OWNER TO CALL INSURANCE COMPANY. OWNER WILL CALL FORD TODAY. THE POLICE DID NOT DO A REPORT. *AK
2003 FORD F250 FUEL LINE CRACKED AND FUEL BEGAN POURING ONTO THE ENGINE AND THE EXHAUST.*MR CONSUMER WAS IN A RAIN STORM AND WHEELS WERE THROWING UP ENOUGH WATER TO PREVENT A FIRE. NO ENGINE LIGHTS OR GAUGES CAME ON, JUST SEEING ALL THE SMOKE ALERTED CONSUMER. THE CONSUMER LOOKED UNDER THE VEHICLE AND SAW A PUDDLE OF DIESEL FUEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN NOTICED THAT A CLAMP HOLDING THE STEEL LINE WAS THE CULPRIT. THEY INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THEY HAD SEEN SEVERAL WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. THE CONSUMER BELIEVES THE FUEL LINE SHOULD BE RE-ROUTED OR REPLACED WITH A LINE THAT CAN RESIST FATIGUE. *BF
THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN SHE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THE ODOMETER READ 21607, HOWEVER WHEN SHE RAN A CAR FAX REPORT, THE ODOMETER READ 45002 BACK IN SEP 2004 AND ON OCT 13, 2004 THE ODOMETER READ 20656. THERE WAS NOISE IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE CONSUMER LET OFF THE ACCELERATOR. *NM

VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE FOR ABOUT 15 HOURS WHEN ALL OF SUDDEN IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR A CHECK UP, BUT THE CAUSE WAS UNDETERMINED AT THIS TIME, HOWEVER, IT SEEMED TO BE A SIMILAR PROBLEM TO AN ELECTRICAL SHORT WITHIN THE CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH.*AK
VEHICLE PARKED COLD ENG 15 MINS, WOULD NOT START, SMOKE AND DASHBOARD ON FIRE ---- CRUISE CONTROL ?
2003 F250, UPON HITTING A POT HOLE IN THE HIGHWAY THE TRUCK BEGAN TO SHAKE VIOLENTLY AND UNCONTROLLABLY, RESULTING IN A QUICK BRAKING AND EXIT OF HIGHWAY. ONCE AT LOW SPEEDS PROBLEM DID NOT PERSIST, ONLY HAPPENED AFTER IMPACT WITH POT HOLE.*AK
VEHICLE WAS RUNNING ROUGH. THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL. WHEN THE CRUISE WAS SET, IT WOULD KICK OFF WITH THE BRAKE OR COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND THE CRUISE WOULD RE-ENGAGE. THE RE-ENGAGING WOULD OCCUR INTERMITTENTLY. *SC THE ENGINE LOST POWER. *JB
WHEN TAKING OFF FROM EITHER A STOP SIGN OR LIGHT VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE FORWARD PROPERLY. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL AT AN INOPPORTUNE TIME. ITS WAS AN ONGOING PROBLEM. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP 6 TIMES IN 1 1/2 YEARS, AND WAS INFORMED BY DEALER THAT PROBLEM WAS LOW RPM POWER, WHICH WAS POOR TORQUE, AND AN IMPROPER GEAR RATIO IN TRANSMISSION.*AK THE CONSUMERS FOOT CONTACTS THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL HANGER WHEN ATTEMPTINGTO DEPRESS THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. THE ENGINE RUNS ROUGH AT IDLE 750 RPM CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO VIVRATE. AT SPEEDS BETWEEN 750 AND 1000 RPM THE ENGINE WILL NOT MAINTAIN A CONSTANT SPEED. SPEED FLUCTUATES UP AND DOWN RAPIDLY. THE ENGINE PRODUCES VERY LITTLE POWER AT LOW RPM'S BELOW 1500. OTHER PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE ARE AS FOLLOWS: DEFECTIVE FUEL INJECTORS, LEAKING REAR MAIN SEAL, LEAKING BRAKE LINE JUNCTION BLOCK, LEAKING GASKETS ON REAR TRANSMISSION HOUSING, AND BROKEN FASTERNER ON THE METAL LINE. *TC
VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT WHILE DRIVING 60-70 MPH. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, AND HAD BOTH LOWER BALL JOINTS REPLACED. CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED SINCE BOTH BALL JOINTS HAD LESS THEN 20,000 MILE OF WEAR. *AK *NM
VIBRATION WHEN UNDER ACCELERATION FROM STOP, FORD HAS REPLACED CATAYLTIC CONVERTER 3 TIMES. PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. SAVERE AIR LEAK DRIVERS WINDOW, I WAS TOLD IT WAS AN ENGINERING DEFECT AND NOTHING COULD BE DONE.ROUGH IDLE AND SKIPPING , I WAS TOLD "I WAS BUYING CHEEP GAS" CHENGED BRAND STILL SAME PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE DRIVER TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO DO SO. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION NUMEROUS TIMES. I JUST ENTERED A SAFETY COMPLAINT REGARDING BRAKE ROTORS RUSTING (( 10328142 ) ON MY 2003 FORD F250 7.3 L DIESEL. THIS COMPLAINT REGARDS RUSTING OUT RADIATOR HOSE BRACKETS. ON JULY 6 TH 2007 A RADIATOR HOSE CLAMP RUSTED OUT , AND I RAPIDLY LOST COOLING, WHILE ON INTERSTATE 68 IN MD TRAVELING AT 65 MPH TOWING A TRAVEL TRAILER. I MANAGED TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND TRAILER SAFELY BUT HAD TO BE TOWED TO A DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THIS WAS ON A 4 YEAR OLD TRUCK.( JUST RECENTLY IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ROTOR PROBLEM A WIRING CLAMP RUSTED OUT UNDER THE BODY LEAVING LOOSE DANGLING WIRES. AT THE TIME I THOUGHT IT WAS A SINGLE RUSTING ISSUE. NOW THAT I AM EXPERIENCING MULTIPLE FAILURES I KNOW THE PROBLEMS ARE MORE EXTENSIVE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH ENGINE STALLED. AS A RESULT, CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD. DEALER STATED THAT THE OIL SENSOR SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONED, CAUSING OIL TO LEAK. *AK
THE GAS GAUGE REGISTERS FALSE READING OF GASOLINE CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO RAN OUT OF GAS. CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO A WORN OUT SENSOR. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT 60 MPH VEHICLE SHUT DOWN. VEHICLE WILL NOT START RIGHT UP AGAIN. ONE HOUR INTO DRIVING THE PROBLEM STARTED. ENGINE MADE A WHISTLING SOUND. OTHER THEN THAT THERE WERE NO WARNINGS. CONSUMER HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM A TOTAL OF FOUR TIMES. *AK POWER STEERING AND BRAKES SHUT DOWN AS A RESULT OF LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. *TC
WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS IDLING, IT VIBRATED HEAVILY. *JB
IN JUNE 2003, I PURCHASED A NEW 2003 FORD F250. IT HAD FIRESTONE STEELTEX R4S LT 265/75 R16 TIRES ON IT. ON MARCH 16, 2004, THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE WENT COMPLETELY FLAT AS I WAS SITTING AT A RED LIGHT. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND FOUND THAT THE TIRE HAD A RIP ACROSS THE SIDE WALL APPROXIMATELY 5 INCHES LONG. THE TIRES (AND TRUCK) HAVE LESS THAN 12,000 MILES ON THEM. I CALLED FORD, AND THEY REFERRED ME TO A LOCAL FIRESTONE DEALER. AT THE FIRESTONE DEALER, ONE OF THE MECHANICS LOOKED AT THE TIRE AND SAID THERE WAS NO APPARENT REASON FOR THE TIRE TO SPLIT, BUT A MANAGER WOULD HAVE TO LOOK AT IT BEFORE IT COULD BE REPLACED. THE MANAGER LOOKED AT IT AND SAID I MUST HAVE HIT A LARGE ROCK OR SOMETHING. I EXPLAINED THAT I WAS SITTING AT A SIGNAL LIGHT WHEN IT HAPPENED AND THAT THE TRUCK HAD NEVER BEEN OFF THE PAVEMENT. HE SAID MAYBE SOMEBODY CAME BY AND CUT IT OR STUCK AN ICE PICK IN IT (AS IF I WOULDN'T HAVE NOTICED THAT IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR). THEN HE TOLD ME IT WAS FORD'S FAULT BECAUSE THEY WERE USING THE WRONG KIND OF TIRE FOR SUCH A BIG VEHICLE, BUT HE WOULD SELL ME A NEW ONE AT A DISCOUNT. THE FIRESTONE WEBSITE HAS SPECS FOR THIS TIRE, AND SPECIFICALLY STATES THEY ARE FOR FORD F250/F350. I REFUSED HIS OFFER, AND CALLED FORD AGAIN. THIS TIME THEY REFERRED ME TO FIRESTONE CUSTOMER CARE. I CALLED AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL ON THESE TIRES, BUT THAT THEY WOULD NOTE MY COMPLAINT IN THEIR SYSTEM. THEY ALSO TOLD ME SEVERAL TIMES TO MAKE SURE I SAFELY BUCKLE MY CHILDREN WHEN THEY ARE IN THE VEHICLE. I'VE FOUND A NUMBER OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ABOUT THESE TIRES ON THE INTERNET. AT THIS POINT, FOR THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY, I'M HAVING ALL FOUR TIRES REPLACED WITH SOMETHING OTHER THAN FIRESTONE/BRIDGESTONE TIRES. I'M KEEPING THE TIRE THAT BLEW OUT AND THE RECEIPT FROM THE NEW TIRES TO SUBMIT TO FIRESTONE IN THE FUTURE IF A RECALL IS PUT IN PLACE.*AK
WHILE DRIVING CONSUMER SMELLED GAS FUMES COMING FROM INSIDE THE VEHICLE. DEALERSHIP TRIED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE IT. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AND MAKING A LEFT TURN STEERING WHEEL WAS HARD TO TURN. THIS CAUSED THE DRIVER TO APPLY BOTH HANDS TO TURN THE VEHICLE. CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC REPLACED THE STEERING HYDRAULIC POWER ASSIST PUMP A MONTH AGO. HOWEVER, PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK
WHEN THE OWNER PARKED THE VEHICLE AND SHUTS THE ENGINE OFF, THE VEHICLE ROLLED. THE CONSUMER HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS BUT THE PROBLEM STILL EXIST. *NM VEHICLE WAS IN PARK WHEN IT ROLLED BACK. *LA
WHEN THE HEATER OR AIR CONDITIONER WAS ENGAGED THE EXHAUST FUMES SEEPED THROUGH THE VENTILATION. *AK IT TOOK ONE WEEK TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED BECAUSE THE EXHAUST PIPE WAS ON NATIONAL BACK ORDER. *NM
WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONSUMER SMELLED STRONG EXHAUST FUMES. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER THEY SUGGESTED TURNING THE AIR CONDITIONER ON MAX TO NEUTRALIZE THE EXHAUST FUMES. *AK THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUMES WERE NOTICEABLE EVEN WHEN THE HEAT WAS ON. THE CONSUMER WAS TOLD THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM. *JB
WHILE DRIVING MANUAL TRANSMISSION FAN CLUTCH FAILED. DEALER KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR TWO WEEKS AND REPLACED THE FAN CLUTCH. THE SAME DAY FAN CLUTCH BROKE AGAIN. *AK
THE CONSUMER STATED NO MATTER HOW FAST THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING, WHEN THE BRAKES WERE PRESSED THE PEDAL AND THE STEERING WHEEL VIBRATED TERRIBLY. PIONEER FORD HAD BEEN INFORMED, BUT STATED THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE MACHINED, AND WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY.*AK *PH *JB
CONSUMER STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING AND NO WARNING THE VEHICLE WILL STALL AND IT WILL BE HARD FOR THE CONSUMER TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 FORD F250. WHENEVER THE VEHICLE IS AT A STOP LIGHT, STOP SIGN, OR IDLING, IT SURGES FORWARD. THE CONTACT HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER OVER 25 TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 55,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,000.
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED AND WITHOUT WARNING VEHICLE WILL STALL. IT WILL BE HARD FOR THE CONSUMER TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. DEALER NOTIFIED. *AK
WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL VEHICLE VIBRATED UNCONTROLLABLY. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC REPLACED THE BRAKE DRUMS. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM RECURRED. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE DRIVER TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO DO SO. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK *TC
