TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-250. WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO OPERATE AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL INJECTION CONTROL MODULE AND INJECTION CONTROL PRESSURE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
STALLS OUT AFTER HOT RUN AND WONT RESTART UNTIL COOLS DOWN AND SOMETIMES AFTER COOL DOWN IT WONT START WITHOUT USING ASTARTER FLUID.STARTS STALLING AROUND 60 MPH.THIS IS A 6.0 DIESEL TRUCK.HAS STOPPED RUNNING RUNNING DOWN THE ROAD AFTER YOU LET OFF GAS PEDAL.HAVE NOTIFIED FORD OF THIS PROBLEM AND FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THIS TRUCK.WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS NOT A RECALL BY FORD WHEN I CALLED THEM. *TT
THE FUEL INJECTION CONTROL MODULE (FICM) FAILED ON MY TRUCK, CAUSING THE ENGINE TO NOT START OR RUN. THIS IS A VERY COMMON COMPONENT FAILURE FOR THE 6.0L DIESEL ENGINE. IF IT FAILS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS BEING DRIVEN, IT COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL, LOSS OF POWER STEERING, LOSS OF BRAKING CAPABILITY. FORD MUST BE AWARE OF THE COMMON FAILURE OF THIS COMPONENT, YET NO RECALL TO REPLACE THESE FAULTY MODULES HAS BEEN ISSUED. IN THE INTEREST OF PUBLIC SAFETY, I REQUEST THAT FORD BE REQUIRED TO REPLACE ALL EXISTING FICM'S ON THE 6.0L DIESEL ENGINE WITH ONE OF BETTER QUALITY, AND REIMBURSE ALL OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES THAT HAVE ALREADY PAID THE EXCESSIVE REPAIR COSTS, COMMONLY OVER $1000, TO HAVE THEIR FAILED FICM'S REPLACED.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 FORD F-250 SUPER DUTY. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 10 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED; HOWEVER, IT CONTINUED TO MOVE FORWARD UNTIL IT CRASHED. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS TOLD THAT THE FUEL INJECTOR CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 05V266000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:HOSES, LINES/PIPING, AND FITTINGS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,568 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 54,568.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH, MY 2005 FORD F-250 DIESEL TRUCK ENGINE SUDDENLY DIED. I HAD TO WRESTLE WITH THE TRUCK TO GET IT STOPPED AND PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAD NO STEERING WHEN THE TRUCK ENGINE STALLED SUDDENLY AND HAD TROUBLE GETTING IT STOPPED. I WAS TOWED HOME AS THE TRUCK WOULD NOT RESTART. WE THEN TOWED IT TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS ON JULY 26TH, AND IT HAS BEEN THERE UNTIL TODAY, SATURDAY, AUGUST 7TH, 2010. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP AT OVER $1200.00. EVEN THOUGH THE TRUCK HAD 62,000 MILES, IT HAD JUST GONE OVER 5 YEARS OLD. WE WERE TOLD THIS IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH FORD DIESELS AND THE FORD ENGINEERS ARE TELLING CONSUMERS THAT THEY AREN'T CHANGING THE OIL ENOUGH. I CONSISTENTLY CHANGED THE OIL IN THAT TRUCK EVERY 5000 MILES WITH DELO 400 AS I WAS TOLD TO DO. THERE NEEDS TO BE AN INVESTIGATION OF FORDS HIGH PRESSURE PUMPS AND THE AMOUNT OF MONEY CONSUMERS ARE HAVING TO PAY FOR REPAIRS BECAUSE OF THIS DEFECTIVE PART. I ASKED TO HAVE THE HIGH PRESSURE PUMP THAT WAS REMOVED FROM MY TRUCK, AND I WAS TOLD THAT HE HAD TO SEND IT BACK TO FORD BECAUSE IT HAD A VERY EXPENSIVE CORE. I'M SURE THEY DID NOT WANT ME TO HAVE THE EVIDENCE. *TR
MY 2005 FORD F-250 6.0L DIESEL LOST ACCELERATION ONTO A HIGHWAY. IT STALLED AND STARTED BILLOWING WHITE SMOKE FROM THE EXHAUST. AFTER A FEW MOMENTS IT SLOWLY ACCELERATED, BUT NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AS CARS RAN UP ONTO US. THE ENGINE WAS MISSING AND WE MADE IT TO AN INTERSECTION TO PULL OFF OF HIGHWAY. WE STOPPED AND RESTARTED THE ENGINE AND IT STARTED RUNNING NORMALLY. HOWEVER, IT HAPPENED AGAIN ONCE WE WERE ON THE ROAD. WE MADE IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAILED "FICM FUEL INJECTOR CONTROL MODULE." THIS HAS BEEN REPORTED TO THEM MULTIPLE TIMES, BUT A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN ISSUED FOR THIS MODEL. I DID FIND REFERENCE TO A RECALL (FORD RECALL NO. 05S34) OF THE EXACT NATURE ON A DIFFERENT YEAR MODEL. I CALLED FORD AND THEY WOULD NOT REIMBURSE THE COST OF THE PART AND LABOR OF $1100. *TR
THE 2005 FORD F250 PICKUP TRUCKS HAS AN ISSUE WHILE FILLING VEHICLE WITH FUEL. THE FUEL SHOOTS OUT OF GAS TANK FILL INLET DURING THE FUELING PROCESS. THIS PROBLEM WILL HAPPEN WITH THE FUEL GAUGE REGISTERING EMPTY, HALF, OR NEAR FULL. I HAVE HAD GAS SHOOT ALL OVER ME AND OTHER PEOPLE TIME AND TIME AGAIN. I HAVE BEEN INSTRUCTED TO NOT GET GAS IN THAT TRUCK AT EVERY GAS STATION NEAR MY HOME. I HAVE TO DRIVE ACROSS TOWN TO GET GAS. AS SOON AS THEY NOTICE FUEL SPILLING OUT OF MY TRUCK, I WILL BE BANNED FROM THEIR STATIONS TOO. THERE ARE 8 GAS STATIONS WITHIN 5 BLOCKS THAT HAVE BANNED ME. IT COSTS ME APPROX. $4 TO GO GET FUEL, EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A STATION 1 BLOCK AWAY. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE MANY TIMES. THEY CLAIM IT ISN'T A RECALL ISSUE. I RESEARCHED THE FORD EXECUTIVES COMPANY EMAIL ADDRESSES AND SENT EMAILS TO THEM. THE EMAIL ADDRESSES WERE STILL VALID AND NOT RETURNED. THE EMAILS MADE IT TO THOSE EXECUTIVES BUT THEY NEVER RESPONDED. I EXPLAINED THAT THE FUEL SPILLAGE IS CAUSING A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND MAY KILL ME OR SOMEONE ELSE. I EXPLAINED THAT THE PROBLEM MAY CAUSE AN EXPLOSION AT A STORE. THE FORD MOTOR SERVICE PROFESSIONALS HAVE TOLD ME THAT THE FILTER IN THE TANK HAS GONE BAD. I HAVE MADE THE COSTLY REPAIR 4 TIMES SINCE MAY OF 2008. IT WORKS WELL FOR A FEW MONTHS AND THEN THE GAS SHOOTS OUT AGAIN. ON ONE OF THOSE INSTANCES, THE FUEL SPILLED OUT, AND I FINISHED FUELING AND PULLED TO THE FRONT OF THE STORE TO REPORT THE SPILLAGE. SOMEONE DROVE UP IN THAT SPOT SMOKING A CIGARETTE AND CAUSED A FIRE FROM THE FUEL SPILLED AT THE PUMP. I WAS BANNED FROM THAT STORE AS WELL. I HAVE TO EITHER PAY FOR A COSTLY GAS TANK FUEL FILTER REPLACEMENT, GET BANNED FROM STORES FOR HONESTLY REPORTING THE SPILLAGE, OR FUEL UP AND DRIVE AWAY FROM THE STORE BEFORE SOMEONE NOTICES THAT I SPILLED FUEL. I DON'T LIKE DOING ANY OF THOSE THINGS. FORD DOESN'T CARE. *TR

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD AND, APPROXIMATELY 15 MINUTES LATER, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS FAILED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 156,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
MY 2005 FORD F-250 SUPERDUTY 6.0L DIESEL, FIRST INCIDENT WAS MAY OF 2007, AT 16,000 MILES MY TURBO CHARGER WENT BAD WHEN I WAS TRAILERING MY HORSES IN VERMONT, FORCED TO STOP AT UNKNOWN DEALERSHIP WHO "CLEANED" SOMETHING SO I WOULD MAKE IT BACK TO MY HOME. AGAIN ON THE DRIVE HOME I LOST THE TURBO. IT HAD TO BE REPLACED AT THE DEALERSHIP, COLUMBIA FORD, CT THE NEXT DAY. I WAS TOLD I HAD TO DRIVE MY TRUCK HARD AND EVERYDAY IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE PROBLEM FROM OCCURRING AGAIN. IN MARCH 2010 BROUGHT MY TRUCK TO MONACO FORD, THE MOTOR HAD TO BE REMOVED DUE TO "ALL OF THE GASKETS AND SEALS IN THE MOTOR LEAKING, AS WELL AS THE TURBO CHARGER BEING BAD AGAIN. THIS OCCURRED AT 24,500 MILES. THE SIDE WALLS OF MY TIRES ARE PEELING, THE RUNNING BOARD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE IS FALLING OFF, AND THE BODY SIDE MOLDING IS COMING OFF AND NOW AT 26,000 MILES THE AIR POSITION SELECTOR FOR THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM IS NOT WORKING. IF I PUT IT IN A POSITION FOR VENTING OR FOR FRONT AND FLOOR I JUST BLOWS THROUGH THE DEFROST VENTS. OBVIOUSLY THE WARRANTY HAS PASSED WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE MOTOR AND I HAVE 26,500 MILES ON THIS TRUCK. *TR
