ORIGINAL BRAKES, DRUMS AND PADS ON REAR DRIVERS SIDE REPLACED AT 24,000 MI. FAILED AGAIN SAME PROBLEM AT 26,000. ORIGINAL TRANSMITION AND TORQUE CONVERTER REPLACED AT 21,000
DEFECTIVE TORQUE CONVERTER CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID TO LEAK WHICH MAY HAVE CAUSED A FIRE IF THERE WAS A SOURCE OF IGNITION. ALREADY BEEN REPLACED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
THE UNDERCARRIAGE SPARE TIRE CARRIER FELL OFF WHILE THE CONSUMER WAS DRIVING, THE CONSUMER HEARD A LOUD NOISE BUT DIDN'T REALIZE WHAT HAD HAPPENED UNTIL PULLING IN THE DRIVEWAY, IT HIT THE FUEL TANK, AND LUCKILY DID NOT PUNCTURE IT. *SLC

FRONT AIR SPRING HOUSING BUSTED, RESUTLING IN VEHICLE STALLING AND OTHER MALFUNCATIONS. CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED THE DEALER, DEALER HAS REPLACED PARTS. PROBLEM STILL OCCURS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *AK
SPARK PLUG RELAY MODULE HAS FAILED THREE TIMES AT APPROXIMATELY 22,000 MILE INTERVALS. VEHICLE WILL NOT START AFTER FAILURE. *AK
CHARLESTON COUNTY OPERATES A FLEET OF 20 AMBULANCES. IN THE PAST 60 DAYS WE HAVE DISCOVERED 5 UNITS THAT HAVE FUEL LEAKING FROM THE FUEL/WATER SEPARATOR HOUSING. THE CAUSE OF THE LEAK APPEARS TO BE CAUSED BY THE WATER SENSOR SHORTING AND MELTING/BURNING A HOLE INTO THE HOUSING. THIS ALLOWS DIESEL FUEL TO LEAK ON TO THE ENGINE. THIS FUEL CAN GO UNDETECTED UNTIL A SUFFICIENT QUANTITY ACCUMULATES TO BE READILY VISIBLE. WE HAVE DISCOVERED THIS FAILURE BECAUSE WE REPLACE THE FILTERS IN THIS HOUSING ON SELF IMPOSED PERIODIC INTERVAL. THIS ACCUMULATION OF THE FUEL ON THE ENGINE IS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE TURBOCHARGER. ONCE ENOUGH FUEL ACCUMULATES RAW HEATED FUEL/FUMES COULD BE IGNITED. I HAVE DISCUSSED THIS PROBLEM WITH FORD MOTOR COMPANY TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE REPRESENTATIVES. OUR LOCAL DEALERS- JONES FORD INC./843-744-3311- SERVICE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT THEY HAVE SEEN NUMEROUS FAILURES OF THIS TYPE ON MANY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS VEHICLES. SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION OF LEAKING DIESEL FUEL UNDER THE HOOD OF AN AMBULANCE WOULD BE A CATASTROPHIC EVENT. CURRENTLY FORD IS NOT ACCEPTING RESPONSIBLITY FOR CONSUMER FAILURES AND CONSUMERS ARE BEING CHARGED FOR REPLACEMENTS AS A NORMAL SERVICE ITEM.(THIS IS WHAT JONES FORD IS TELLING ME.) FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAS MADE POLICY ADJUSTMENTS TO ASSIST CHARLESTONCOUNTY WITH THE COST OF THESE REPLACEMENTS. IF YOU NEED FUTHER INFORMATION PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL ME. YOUR ASSISTANCE IS APPRECIATED.

CLUTCH FAILURE.
FRONT BRAKE ROTORS CRACKED.
CLUTCH LINKAGE FAILED TWICE WHILE DRIVING, LEAVING CONSUMER SITTING. DEALER WAS CONTACTED. AFTER THE FIRST FAILURE THE LINKAGE WAS REPLACED. AFTER THE SECOND FAILURE THE HYDRAULIC CYLINDER AND ALL THE LINKAGES WERE REPLACED. NO PROBLEMS SINCE. *AK *ML
WHEN THE CAR HITS A BUMP, THE FRONT WHEELS START TO SHAKE UNTIL THE CAR SLOWS DOWN . *AK
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES YOU GET A METAL TO METAL GRINDING NOISE. HAS HAD REPAIRED 2 TIMES. *AK *SLC
DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH AND WAS LEAST 400-500 FEET BEHIND OTHER VEHICLE , PUT ON BRAKES, VEHICLE BEGAN TO SKID FOR LEAST 200 FEET WHILE PULLING TRAILOR. FRONT ROTORS BROKE THREE TIMES , DEALER HAS REPLACED TWICE , WILL NOT REPLACE A THRID TIME. BRAKES NEED TO BE REPLACED ABOUT EVERY 20 MILES. *AK
TRAILER HITCH BROKE CAUSING TRAILER/BOAT TO BREAK FREE.
LEFT AND RIGHT AUTOMATIC HUB ASSEMBLY FAILURE.
VACUUM PUMP CAME APART, CAUSING BRAKE FAILURE.
LOOSE STEERING IS DIFFICULT TO CONTROL.
WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED IN A PANIC STOP, THE FRONT BRAKES LOCK UP AND THE BACK BRAKES DO NOTHING, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO COLLIDE INTO ANOTHER. THE DEALER HAS BEEN NOTIFIED. *AK

I TOLD YOU BACK IN 1996 ABOUT THIS, BUT YOU KEPT PUTTING ME OFF. AND I TOLD YOU ABOUT THE WINDSHIELD AND TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION ON AMBULANCE THAT HELPED ME WAS A FORD 350 AND THE TRANSMISSION HAD THE SAME PROBLEM, ME AND THE DRIVER TALKED.( DOT NUMBER: NONE TIRE SIZE: 16 )
