WHILE DRIVING THE SEAT BELT WILL TIGHTEN. OWNER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, WHO EASILY IDENTIFIED THE DEFECT, BUT TOLD THE OWNER THAT IT WAS A MANUFACTURER DESIGN, AND THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE THEY COULD DO. *AK
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F350. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE INJECTOR CONTROL WIRING MODULE AND THE OWNER WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYING $2200. AFTER THE REPAIR, THE VEHICLE MISS FIRED, BLACK SMOKE WAS IN THE ENGINE AREA AND THEIR WAS TRODDLE RESISTANCE. THE DEALER CONFIRMED THAT THERE WERE NO EXISTING RECALLS AND THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF REPAIRS A SECOND TIME. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 217,000.

WHILE DRIVING TRANSMISSION HESITATED WHEN IT SWITCHED GEARS ,AND WHEN YOU WOULD REVERSE IT HESITATED SO YOU COULD BACK UP. METAL FLAKES WERE FOUND IN THE TRANSMISSION FLUID FROM IN THE PAN. FORD DEALER WAS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, AND TRANSMISSION HAS TO BE REBUILT. OTHER TRANSMISSIONS WITH SIMILAR SERIAL #'S WERE UNDER RECALL BY FORD MOTOR COMPANY, BUT OURS WASN'T RECALLED ,AND THEY WERE UNWILLING TO REBUILD IT. *AK
ON 16 APRIL 2005 , I TOOK MY F-350 TURBO DIESEL DUALLY IN FOR 10,000 MILE SERVICE ( VEHICLE HAD 9400 MILES) ALSO ASKED TO HAVE LEFT SPEAKER CHECKED AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION PINS REPLACEMENT. UPON COMPLETION OF 10,000 MILE SERVICE I NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A THUMPING SOUND WHEN DECELERATING ON THE ROAD . WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND ASKED THAT THEY CHECK TO SEE IF EVERYTHING WAS BACK IN PLACE , REASON FOR THIS WAS THAT THEY REPLACED THE LEFT SPEAKER AND DID NOT PUT THE DOOR MOLDING BACK ON WHEN THEY GAVE ME BACK THE CAR. SERVICE PERSON ROAD IN THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT THEY KNEW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS AND THAT IT WAS LISTED ON THE FORD ENGINEERING WEBSITE, THEY PRINTED OUT THE MEMO STATING IT WAS AN KNOWN PROBLEM AND HAD TO DO WITH THE AIR FILTER VIBRATION AND THAT NO ADJUSTMENT WAS NECESSARY. UPON LEAVING THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN FOR THE THIRD TIME THE NOISE STARTED TO INCREASE IN VOLUME AND THEN WOULD NOT ACCELERATE , I RETURNED AND HAD THE DIESEL MECHANIC TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE , THE VEHICLE SHOWED NO INDICATION ON DASH PANEL AND SHOWED RPMS INCREASING BUT VEHICLE NOT ACCERATING AND CONTINUING TO MAKE THUMPING VIBRATION NOISE. MECHANIC STATED I WAS NOT GOING ANYWHERE WITH THIS TRUCK . I HAVE A LOANER FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND AS OF TODAY APRIL 25,2005 MY TRUCK IS STILL AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS.*AK
2004 F-350 BEGAN HAVING STALLING PROBLEMS AT <2000 MILES. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO FIX THE VEHICLE, WE ASKED FOR A REPLACEMENT. WHILE WAITING ON ACTION FROM FORD, WE WERE IN AN ACCIDENT ON APRIL 15,2005 AFTER THE TRUCK FAILED WHILE CROSSING AN INTERSECTION.
THE CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT SUDDEN ACCELERATION. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH THE VEHICLE LUNGED FORWARD WITH AN INCREASE IN SPEED. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALERS ON 4 SEPARATE OCCASIONS. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK THE VEHICLE ACCELERATES AND LUNGES FORWARD SEVERAL TIMES THEN DIES. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. WHEN THE CRUISE CONTROL IS SET, THE SAME THING OCCURS BUT ONLY BACKWARDS WHEN IN REVERSE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER SIX TIMES AND RETURNED TO THE CONSUMER UN-FIXED EACH TIME. *SC *JB

2004 F350 FX4 EXT CAB 6.0 DIESEL TORQUE SHIFT SPEEDS UP WHILE DRIVING AND AT STOP LIGHTS ON ITS OWN. (ONCE WHILE BACKING) MY DAD WILL NOT RIDE IN IT ANY MORE AND CLAIMS I AM CRAZY FOR DRIVING IT.*AK HARSH TRANS LOCK UP AT 45 AFTER AUTO TRANS WAS DROPPED AND UPDATED WITH PLANETARY BULLETIN AT DEALER. THE TRANS DEAL I WILL CONTINUE FIGHTING, BUT THE MIND OF ITS OWN IN ACCELERATION IS DANGEROUS. AM CURRENTLY PACKING A DEALER COMPUTER WITH A PANIC BUTTON BUT HAVE NOT CAUGHT THE GREMLIN YET AS IT WILL GO FOR A WHILE IN BETWEEN UPROARS. I FEEL JILTED BEING A TEST RAT AFTER BUYING A VEHICLE WITH A $46,000.00 STICKER PRICE. AND THEN THERE IS SAFETY. WILL TAKE THE TRUCK BACK TOMORROW AND TELL THE ASSOCIATE TO PULL THE COMPUTER AND WIRES AND THE NEXT TIME HE SEES ME WILL BE WITH THE TRUCK ON A HOOK OR ME ALONE WITH A LAWYER AFTER AN ACCIDENT. I KNOW THEIR TRYING, BUT THE LACK OF TROUBLE CODES AS WELL AS THE INABILITY TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WITHOUT THEM COULD BE THE END OF SOMEONE?S LIFE AND OR THE DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTY. THE ENGINE STALLED TWICE ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 70 MILES PER HOUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS, BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE STALLING. *JB THE CONSUMER STATED THE SHE WAS DRIVING DOWN A MOUNTAIN WHEN THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER. *TC
2004 FORD F350 CREW CAB 4 WHEEL DRIVE W/ 6.0 DIESEL ENGINE AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. [XXX] 1.) I WAS ON A 180 MILE TRIP, DESCENDING HILL (FROM 3800 FEET TO 1000 FEET ELEVATION) AT LESS THAN 30 MPH WITH COLD OUTDOOR TEMPERATURE. 2.) WHILE COASTING DOWN STEEP GRADE AN ENGINE STALL NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT DUE OT LOSS OF POWER ASSIST FOR STEERING AND BRAKES. 3.) DEALER RECALIBRATED EEC SYSTEM. WHEN PULLING OFF FROM AN INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE STALLED. MOMENTS LATER, THE CONSUMER RESTARTED THE VEHICLE ALL POWER RESUMED AS NORMAL. OWNER HAS TAKEN THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER WHO WANTED TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS SO THEY MAY FIND OUT WHAT WAS CAUSING THE DEFECT. PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB

ALL OF THE FOLLOWING IS DOCUMENTED ON FORDS COMPUTER SYSTEM THROUGH MAGNUSSENS IN NEWARK, CA. JUNE04, STARTED WITH A ROUGH IDLE PROBLEM TOOK MY 2004 F350 BACK TO DEALER. DID A REFLASH SEEM TO FIX FOR A WHILE. PROGRESSED TO ROUGH AND SEARCHING IDLE. APPROXIMATELY 9 TIMES BACK TO DEALER, EACH TIME EITHER CLEAR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR REPLACE PARTS, APPROXIMATELY 7 OR 8 DAYS OUT OF SERVICE FROM JUNE TILL LATE AUGUST, LAST TIME REPLACED THE ENTIRE TURBO ASSEMBLY. EACH TIME JUST REPLACED PARTS, NEVER DID THE DEALERSHIP OR FORD CORPORATE HAVE A DEFINITE ANSWER TO WHAT CAUSED THE PROBLEM. EACH TIME CODE P0299 WAS ON THE CHECK ENGINE. BETWEEN THE 2 AND 9TH INCIDENTS, THE VEHICLE STALLED UNEXPECTEDLY IN THE MIDDLE OF A DOWNHILL COASTING TURN ALMOST RESULTING IN A CRASH EACH TIME. TOTAL OF 5 TIMES, LAST OCCURRENCE OF STALL WAS FIRST TIME VEHICLE PRESENTED ANY PROBLEMS SINCE TURBO REPLACEMENT ON TWO THURSDAYS AGO ON MY WAY TO WORK. AFTER I GOT IN TO WORK I CALLED FORD SUPPORT AND MY DEALERSHIP AND STARTED A REPLACEMENT PROCESS THROUGH WHAT FORD CALLS THE DSB DISPUTE SETTLEMENT BOARD. I AM NOT COMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS PARTICULAR UNIT ANY MORE AND FEAR I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE SAFELY ONE OF THESE TIMES IT STALLS AND MAY CAUSE INJURY TO MYSELF OR ANOTHER. I HAVE DONE A LOT OF RESEARCH REGARDING OTHERS WHO MIGHT HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AND IT LED ME HERE. *JB
WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH CONSUMER'S VEHICLE CRASHED INTO A POLE. UPON IMPACT, DUAL AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. DRIVER SUSTAINED NECK AND LOWER KNEE INJURIES. *AK
INCIDENT OCCURRED IN THE AFTERNOON, THE TEMP WAS ABOUT 70 DEGREES. THE TRUCK WAS LOADED WITH MY FAMILY (5 INCLUDING MYSELF); WE WERE TRAVELING OVER A HILL AT ABOUT 50 MPH. A SIGN INDICATED A 6 PERCENT GRADE. ON THE WAY UP THE HILL, AT ABOUT 2000RPM AND ABOUT 45 MPH WE NOTICED A LARGE AMOUNT OF BLACK SMOKE BEING EXPELLED FROM THE TAILPIPE. THERE WAS NO HESITATION ON POWER OUTPUT AT THAT TIME, THEN COASTING DOWN THE OTHER SIDE OF THE HILL THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN. FORTUNATELY WE WERE ABLE TO NARROWLY AVOID THE TRAFFIC AHEAD WITH WHAT LITTLE BRAKE ACTION I COULD APPLY. WHEN THE ENGINE WAS STARTED AGAIN, THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON. AFTER BEING TAKEN TO THE DEALER THE SENSORS WERE REPLACED ON THE TURBOCHARGER AND OTHER UNDISCLOSED WORK WAS DONE TO THE ENGINE. LATELY THE TRUCK HAS BEEN MIMICKING THESE SYMPTOMS.
THERE IS A LOUD "CLUNK" FROM UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE WHEN TAKING OFF AFTER PUTTING THE TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE. THE "CLUNK" HAPPENS ABOUT 5 TO 10 FEET AFTER YOU BEGIN MOVING FORWARD AND SOMETIMES ALSO WHEN THE VEHICLE SHIFTS FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR AND 2ND TO 3RD GEAR. *AKTHE "CLUNK" CAN NOT ONLY BE HEARD BUT ALSO FELT IN THE FLOORBOARDS OF THE VEHICLE. SOUNDS AS IF SOMETHING IN THE TRANSMISSION AS LET GO.*AK
WHEN TRUCK ORIGINALLY PURCHASED BUBBLE ON TIRE, AND DEALER SAID THEY ALL COME THAT WAY, TIRE WENT FLAT WHILE PARKED ABOUT A MONTH LATER, NO HOLES, WE WERE TOLD TIRE WAS NO GOOD, HAD TO BE REPLACED. TRUCK KEPT STALLING, LOSS OF BRAKES AND STEERING WHILE NAVIGATING DOWNHILL, SOLENOID ASSEMBLY REPLACED. 2 DAYS LATER KEPT STALLING. DEALER HAD TRUCK 21 DAYS TO REBUILD TRANSMISSION, AGAIN SOLENOID ASSEMBLY REPLACED AFTER THAT REPLACED WIRING HARNESS. SINCE THEN, CALIPER BROKE AND BRAKES WENT, TURBO HAS BEEN REPLACED. VEHICLE HAS REPEATEDLY STALLED, NOISES FROM REAR END WITH NO DX. NOW ENGINE SMOKING, LOSS OF POWER, RPMS JUMP WHILE IDLING. TRUCK HAS ALSO REPEATEDLY CHANGED GEARS AUTOMATICALLY, IE WHILE AT RED LIGHT TRUCK WOULD JUMP TO 3RD AND THEN TRUCK WOULD STALL. *JB
ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS VEHICLE STALLED. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS AT 5 MPH, AND THE SECOND TIME IT WAS AT 35 MPH. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON BOTH OCCASIONS, AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO RESOLVE/ DUPLICATE THIS PROBLEM.*AK....VEHICLE SPEEDS UP ON ITS OWN AND MISSES OUT RUNNING DOWN THE ROAD AT 60 MPH. RPMS AROUND 1500 RPMS .REPROGRAMMED PCM AND TCM TO LATEST CALIBRATION. *AK
WHEN ENGAGING CRUISE CONTROL VEHICLE STARTS TO SHAKE UNCONTROLLABLY. *AK
THERE ARE TOXIC FUMES COMING THROUGH THE DEFROSTER WHEN IT IS TURNED ON. WHICH IS DISTRACTING THE DRIVER ON THE ROAD. MANUFACTURER HAD BEEN CONTACTED BY CONSUMER. *AK THE CONSUMER PURCHASED A CARBON MONOXIDE DETECTOR IN WHICH THE VEHICLE REGISTERED 40 PPM. AS THE WEATHER TURNED COLD, THE CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO USE THE DEFROSTER OR HEATER DUE TO THE DIESEL FUMES FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THE CONSUMER SUFFERED NOSE BLEEDS AND HIS MOTHER-IN-LAW HAD BECOME ILL WHILE RIDING IN THE VEHICLE. TWO DEALERSHIPS STATED THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINE DIED WHILE GOING DOWN HILL TO A STOP AT TIMES, THE VEHICLE STUCK IN 4X4 LOW, DRIVER DOOR MOLDING WAS COMING A LOOSE, HEAD LIGHT WAS INOPERATIVE AT TIMES AND THE SWITCH WAS REPLACED, THE REAR DOOR DID NOT LINE PROPERLY AND LEAKED AIR THEREFORE BOTH REAR DOOR UPPER SEALS WERE ADJUSTED. *SC *JB
WHILE DRIVING UP A HILL THERE WAS ERRATIC BEHAVIOR IN THE TRANSMISSION THAT CAUSED INCONSISTENCY IN THE SHIFTING. AS A RESULT, VEHICLE STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION , AND STEERING FAILED. *AK
TWO INCIDENTS HAPPENED THE SAME DAY WHILE DRIVING AT 65 MPH, VEHICLE STALLED. THIS CAUSED LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKES. WHILE WAITING FOR STOP LIGHT. VEHICLE LUNGED OR ACCELERATED UP TO 3000 RPMS. *AK

THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM. RETURNED VEHICLE TO DEALER AGAIN MECHANIC NOT AVAILABLE. VEHICLE RETURNED WITH NO DIAGNOSTICS. THEN THREE DAYS LATER VEHICLE BACK AT DEALERSHIP FOR ANOTHER TRANSMISSION. WITH ONLY 12,000 MILES ON VEHICLE. I FEAR FOR THE SAFETY OF FAMILY AND OTHERS WHILE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. *AK
INTERMITTENTLY VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK

WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED CONSUMER NOTICED FRONT END OF VEHICLE MADE NOISE. CONSUMER INSPECTED UNDER VEHICLE, AND SAW THAT FRONT SPRING PERCH WAS NOT BOLTED TO FRAME. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH WITH SPEED CONTROL SET AND WITHOUT ANY INDICATION VEHICLE ENGINE STALLED. DEALERSHIP SERVICED VEHICLE, AND TECHNICIAN COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
ENGINE STALLS/STOPS RUNNING, LEADING TO A LOSS OF STEERING AND BRAKING. THIS HAS OCURRED THREE TIMES, TWICE AT LOW SPEED WHEN COMING TO A STOP, ONCE AT HIGH SPEED.*AK
WHEN APPLYING BRAKES FROM ANY SPEED VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD. WHEN CONSUMER ATTEMPTED TO STOP VEHICLE COASTED INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. NO IMPACT REPORTED. *AK
WHEN DECELERATING VEHICLE STALLED. DEALERSHIP SERVICED VEHICLE, AND TECHNICIAN COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
CONSUMER NOTICED THAT ENGINE STALLED AT ANY SPEED. DEALERSHIP SERVICED THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES, BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. *AK
SINCE NEW VEHICLE PURCHASE, MY FORD F350 DIESEL P/U EXPERIENCED ENGINE SURGING (200-250 RPM) WHILE STOPPED WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION IN DRIVE. THE SURGE WAS SIGNIFICANT ENOUGH TO LURCH THE TRUCK FORWARD WITH THE BRAKE APPLIED, SUCH AS AT A STOPLIGHT. IN SEVERAL CASES, I ALMOST REAR ENDED OTHER VEHICLES BEFORE APPLYING THE BRAKE HARD ENOUGH TO STOP THE TRUCK FROM MOVING FORWARD. I LATER LEARNED TO ANTICIPATE THE SURGE USING THE BRAKES TO MINIMIZE MOVEMENT OF THE TRUCK WHILE STOPPED. MY SURGING PROBLEM WAS CONFIRMED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS BY TECHNICIANS DURING TEST RIDES, BUT THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM IN THE SHOP. IN ALL CASES, THE FIRST STEP WAS TO REFLASH THE ECM WHICH MASKED THE PROBLEM FOR SEVERAL DAYS WHILE THE TRUCK RELEARNED MY DRIVING HABITS AND PREVENTED A DIAGNOSIS. THE ENGINE HAD TO BE OPERATED AT FULL TEMPERATURE IN ROAD CONDITIONS BEFORE THE PROBLEM DEVELOPED. IN THE SHOP, IDLING THE ENGINE TO WARM UP TO NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURE WAS NOT SUFFICIENT TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM. FORD DEALERS MADE MULTIPLE ATTEMPTS (10 OR MORE) TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM: REPLACING INJECTOR CONTROL PRESSURE (ICP) MODULE, EGR VALVE, AND ICP WIRING CONNECTORS TO NO AVAIL. THE PROBLEM WAS FINALLY DIAGNOSED AND CORRECTED, OUT OF WARRANTY AT APPROX. 44,500 MILES, BY REPLACING THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS. I FOUND A DEALER WHO WAS WILLING TO SEND A TECHNICIAN ON A TEST RIDE WITH ME AND HOOK UP AN ONBOARD COMPUTER LAPTOP THAT IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM BEFORE REFLASHING THE COMPUTER ECM. A NUMBER OF SURGING COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER OWNERS OF FORD F350 ARE POSTED IN ONLINE FORUMS DOCUMENTING SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES AND FRUSTRATION. THE INCIDENT DATE PROVIDED IS THE APPROXIMATE DATE OF THE FIRST OCCURRENCE. IN MY CASE, THE SURGING OCCURRED ON A NEAR DAILY BASIS, ALTHOUGH INTERMITTENTLY, FOR 41000 MILES OF DRIVING WITHOUT ANY RESOLUTION FROM FORD. THE ENGINE WIRING HARNESS WAS REPLACED IN FEB 2009 WHICH CORRECTED THE SURGING IN MY TRUCK. I PAID A $100 DEDUCTIBLE. *TR
WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL IT WAS HARD FOR THE CONSUMER TO TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
1.) I OWN AN 04, F350 SUPERDUTY, DIESEL TRUCK. THERE ARE 2 FUEL FILTERS \ WATER SEPERATORS ON IT. ONE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, UNDER THE FRAME AND THE OTHER ON TOP OF THE ENGINE. OWNERS MANUAL RECCOMENDS THAT YOU MUST DRAIN THE ONE UNDER THE FRAME AT LEAST WITH EVERY FILL UP TO PREVENT WATER FROM GETTING INTO THE ENGINE. 2.) THE PROBLEM IS THAT YOU MUST USE AN ALLEN WRENCH UNDER THE FRAME TO LOOSEN THE SCREW FOR THE FUEL IN THE FILTER TO DRAIN OUT. FORD RECCOMENDS AT LEAST 25 SECONDS AND INTO A CONTAINER. I HAVE DONE THIS 5 TIMES NOW. 4 TIMES THE SCREW HAS FALLEN OUT AND I WAS SOAKED WITH DIESEL FUEL, AND HAD A 45 SECOND OR SO FLOW OF FUEL ON THE GROUND, CONTAMINATING IT. 3.) I FEEL THAT THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL TO CHANGE THAT DRAIN SCREW TO A PETCOCK OR A SPRING LOADED SCREW TO PREVENT THE SCREW FROM FALLING OUT. THIS WOULD PREVENT THESE SMALL FUEL SPILLS THAT ARE HARMFUL TO THE ENVIORNMENT, AND THE DANGEREOUS FUEL THAT IS BEING SPILLED ONTO PEOPLE. *JB
THE BOLTS THAT HOLD THE BRACKETS FOR THE TOP SUPPORT OF THE AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM CONTINUOUSLY BREAK. THIS OCCURRED IN FIVE VEHICLE (AMBULANCES) SO FAR, VIN NUMBERS: [XXX], [XXX], [XXX], [XXX], AND [XXX]. TOOK THE VEHICLES TO BE REPAIRED AT FORD DEALERSHIP. *AK THERE WERE 2 UNITS WITH BRACKET FAILURE, ALSO HAD BROKEN BRAKE LINES WHICH CAUSED THE BRAKES TO FAIL. THE BRAKE LIGHT ON THE DASH AND THE BRAKE LINE WAS NOT ATTACHED PROPERLY. DT: UNDER ACCELERATION BETWEEN 25 AND 45 MPH THE VEHICLE LOSES POWER. THERE IS HESITATION WHEN VEHICLE ACCELERATES. IT IS AS THOUGH IT BOGS DOWN AND CAN NOT GAIN ANY SPEED. ALSO, A LARGE AMOUNT OF BLACK SMOKE WAS EXPELLED FROM THE EXHAUST. WHEN THIS OCCURS THE TRUCK COMES TO CRAWL IN MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC, AND HAPPENS MOSTLY IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, AS WELL AS ON INTERSTATE. TOOK VEHICLE TO A DEALER 4 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM WITHIN 28,000 MILES. DEALERSHIP COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG, BUT DID TROUBLE SHOOTING REPAIRS TO THE COMPUTER, AND THEN REPLACED THE TURBO. DEALER ADMITTED THEY DID NOT KNOW HOW TO FIX OR DIAGNOSE THIS PROBLEM. CONSUMER HAS NOT CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AT THIS TIME. NO OTHER REPAIRS WERE DONE OR ISSUES OUTSIDE OF THIS PROBEKM OCCURRED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED VEHICLE STALLED. CONSUMER WAS UNABLE TO RESTART VEHICLE, AND IT WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION NUMEROUS TIMES. MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT COMPUTER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND REPLACED IT. HOWEVER, PROBLEM RECURRED. *AK
WHILE DRIVING, T HE VEHICLE STALLED SEVERAL TIMES. THE CONSUMER WOULD RESTART THE VEHICLE WHILE IN MOTION. THE BRAKES WOULD GO OUT WHEN THIS WOULD OCCUR. *AK THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO BE RESOLVED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE EGR VALVE (EXHAUST GAS-RECIRCULATION). THE VEHICLE IDLED ERRATICALLY. THE INJECTOR PRESSURE REGULATOR WAS REPLACED. THE EBP SENSOR AND THE EGR VALVE DID NOT WORK PROPERLY AND BOTH WERE REPLACED. THE EBP SIGNAL REMAINED TO FLUCTUATE. ALSO ,THE TURBO CHARGER WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. *SC *JB
VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH THE EXHAUST FUMES WHICH SEEM TO BE GETTING INTO THE CAB OF THE PICKUP. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. ALSO, CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. HOWEVER, THEY DID NOT HELP THE OWNER WITH THIS PROBLEM. THE EXHAUST FUMES WERE COMING THROUGH THE AIR CONDITIONER AND HEAT VENTS. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH THE VEHICLE'S REAR END FELT LOOSE. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM BUT WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR IT. *AK *NM
