TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 FORD F350. IN JANUARY OF 2008, WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT PARKED THE VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART IT, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE LINER IN THE FUEL TANK DELAMINATED, CAUSING PLASTIC PIECES TO FLOW THROUGH THE FUEL LINE, PUMP, AND INJECTOR. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. 1.) I OWN AN 04, F350 SUPERDUTY, DIESEL TRUCK. THERE ARE 2 FUEL FILTERS \ WATER SEPERATORS ON IT. ONE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, UNDER THE FRAME AND THE OTHER ON TOP OF THE ENGINE. OWNERS MANUAL RECCOMENDS THAT YOU MUST DRAIN THE ONE UNDER THE FRAME AT LEAST WITH EVERY FILL UP TO PREVENT WATER FROM GETTING INTO THE ENGINE. 2.) THE PROBLEM IS THAT YOU MUST USE AN ALLEN WRENCH UNDER THE FRAME TO LOOSEN THE SCREW FOR THE FUEL IN THE FILTER TO DRAIN OUT. FORD RECCOMENDS AT LEAST 25 SECONDS AND INTO A CONTAINER. I HAVE DONE THIS 5 TIMES NOW. 4 TIMES THE SCREW HAS FALLEN OUT AND I WAS SOAKED WITH DIESEL FUEL, AND HAD A 45 SECOND OR SO FLOW OF FUEL ON THE GROUND, CONTAMINATING IT. 3.) I FEEL THAT THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL TO CHANGE THAT DRAIN SCREW TO A PETCOCK OR A SPRING LOADED SCREW TO PREVENT THE SCREW FROM FALLING OUT. THIS WOULD PREVENT THESE SMALL FUEL SPILLS THAT ARE HARMFUL TO THE ENVIORNMENT, AND THE DANGEREOUS FUEL THAT IS BEING SPILLED ONTO PEOPLE. *JB
