TRANSMISSION SPUTTERS ON TAKE OFF SHAKING CAR AND SLIPPING ON INCLINE, ALSO TRANSMISSION SLIPS ON CRUISE CONTROL AT 70MPH. DEALER REFUSED TO GIVE RENTAL FOR THIS EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. ALSO TOLD THAT THEY WILL ONLY RESET COMPUTER AND THE PROBLEM WILL NEVER GO AWAY COMPLETELY. IN OTHER WORDS FORD HAS NO PERMANENT FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM AND SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR STILL SELLING THESE AUTOS KNOWING IT HAS A SERIOUS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM AND NOT DISCLOSING IT TO THE CONSUMER. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR HATCH FAILED TO CLOSE ON THE VEHICLE. THE HATCH OPENED IN DEPENDENTLY AND THE DOOR OPEN CHIME SOUNDED. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000.
I HAVE OWNED THE CARE FOR 5 YEARS. AFTER THE FIRST 8 MONTHS, IT STARTED TO STUTTER WHEN PROCEEDING TO GO AFTER BEING STOPPED. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. MOST OF THEM DID A RESET ON THE CODE. ONE SHOP SAID THAT HE WOULD REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION BUT MY EXTENDED WARRANTY ONLY COVERED INTERNAL LUBRICATED PARTS AND I HAVE A DRY CLUTCH. I HAVE HAD IT SERVICED BY REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND RESETTING THE CODE AGAIN. 2 MONTHS AGO, THE CAR WAS NOT SHIFTING CORRECTLY AND WOULD REV UP TO 4K RPM BEFORE SHIFTING INTO THE NEXT GEAR. I AM CURRENTLY WAITING FOR A REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION FOR THIS VEHICLE.

A PEDESTRIAN NOTIFIED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WAS OPENED AND THE DOOR FAILED TO LATCH. THE CONTACT USED BUNGEE CORDS IN ORDER TO KEEP THE DOOR CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.
I HAVE HAD MY 2012 FORD FIESTA SES SINCE SEPTEMBER 2011. MY VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A TRANSMISSION RECALL AWHILE BACK AND EVER SINCE IT HAS HAD CONSTANT TRANSMISSION ISSUES TO INCLUDE JERKY SHIFTING, SLUGGISH ACCELERATION, FAILURE TO SHIFT GEARS, TRANSMISSION FAILURE MESSAGE APPEARING ON THE RADIO SCREEN AND ALL CONSTANT JERKING WHEN DRIVING COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE HAD IT LOOKED AT BEFORE WITH BEING TOLD IT WAS OPERATING AS IT SHOULD. IF THIS IS HOW IT'S SUPPOSED TO OPERATE, I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER FORD.
WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION, THE DOOR OPEN LIGHT AND THE INTERIOR CAR LIGHTS TURNED ON, THEN I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THAT THE BACK DOOR BEHIND THE PASSENGER'S SIDE OPENED BY ITSELF. I STOPPED AND TRIED TO CLOSE IT AND IT WOULD NOT SHUT OR LOCK. THE PASSENGER AT THE TIME HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR UNTIL WE GOT TO OUR DESTINATION. REAL HAZARD TO THE CARS THAT WERE RIGHT BY MINE AND MY PASSENGERS. IT WAS SCARY TO THINK OF ALL THE THINGS THAT COULD HAVE GONE WRONG BECAUSE THE LATCH SUDDENLY FAILED OUT OF NOWHERE. CALLED FORD AND IT'S A MORE THAN $300 FEE TO FIX THE LATCH SYSTEM ON THAT DOOR AND THE SERVICE CLERK TOLD ME THAT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT HAPPENS. THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. IF FORD KNOWS THIS, WHY AREN'T THEY DOING ANYTHING? NEVER BEFORE HAVE I HEARD OF A LATCH BREAKING WHILE A CAR IS IN MOTION, SPECIALLY WHEN MY CAR'S BACK DOORS ARE ALMOST NEVER USED AND MY CAR IS STILL RELATIVELY NEW. I BOUGHT A 2012 FORD FIESTA AND HAD THE TRANSMISSION SENSOR REPLACED UNDER FACTORY WARRANTY. DID NOT DRIVE THE CAR 5000 MILES AND THE TRANS SENSOR MESSED UP AGAIN CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO NOT SHIFT OUT OF FIRST AND SECOND GEAR WITHOUT HESITATION AND VIBRATIONS. SHIFTS FINE FROM SECOND ON! AFTER DROPPING OFF MY KIDS I DRIVE 4 MILES AND MAKE A LEFT TURN MY BACK PASSENGER SIDE DOOR OPENS UP AND THE MESSAGE ON MY DASH LIGHTS UP SAYING THE DOOR IS OPEN. I STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TRY AND CLOSE THE DOOR BUT, THE DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. LUCKY I HAD BUNGEE CABLES IN MY CAR TO CLOSE THE DOOR TO GET HOME. AFTER 13 DAYS OF OWNING THE CAR, THE CAR BEGAN TO MAKE GRINDING NOISES AND WOULD SHUDDER WHEN SHIFTING IN LOW GEARS. THE NOISE AND SHUDDERING WAS SO BAD THAT I WAS AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND CLUTCH IS NEEDING REPLACEMENT. ACCORDING TO WWW, THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM AND OFTEN PROGRESSES TO THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATING. I HAVE A 2012 FORD FIESTA SE WE WERE DRIVING AND TURNED A CORNER AND THE REAR DOOR FLEW OPEN WE PULLED OVER AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT STAY LATCHED. BOUGHT A BUNGY CORD AND TIED THE TWO DOORS TOGETHER, WENT TO FORD THE NEXT DAY AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE DOOR LATCHES I CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE BROUGHT THE CAR IN, CONTACTED BY THE SERVICE ADVISER STATING IT WOULD NOT BE COVERED SINCE MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY THEY WANT $175 TO ANALYSIS THE PROBLEM AND + PARTS AND TIME TO FIX. I REFUSE TO PAY IT SINCE THE LATCH SHOULD OF BEEN RECALLED. ITS A KNOWN PROBLEM BUT THEY WILL NOT TAKE ACTION OR ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. I AM APPALLED. WHAT POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY HAVE AT FIESTA LINCOLN AND BERGE FORD IN MESA, AZ. THEY DO NOT LISTEN OR RESPOND WITH A SOLUTION, CALL FORD IF YOU WANT TOO, WAS THEIR SUGGESTION. *TR
FORD FIESTA 2012 TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN SHUDDERING FOR SEVERAL MONTHS AND NOW AT 50,000 MILES VERY BAD MIS SHIFTING AND NOT SHIFTING (SOUNDS LIKE JUMPING INTO NEUTRAL) I HAVE IT IN DEALER AND PRAYING THAT IT IS COVERED WITH MY PREMIUM WARRANTY AND SPECIAL EXTENSION GIVEN BY FORD FOR TRANNY PROBLEMS
WHEN I AM AT A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT MY VEHICLE IF I DON'T HAVE THE BRAKE ON SECURELY I WILL ROLL A BIT BACKWARDS UNTIL I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BREAK. AS WELL AS WHEN I START TO GO AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN THE ENGINE WILL SPUTTER OUT WHILE I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDDLE FOR THE FIST TIME SINCE STOPPING. THEN THE ENGINE WILL CATCH ITSELF AS I LET OFF THE GAS PEDDLE AND THEN RE-ATTACH MY FOOT TO THE GAS PEDDLE. THERE IS A SPUTTER GRUMBLE NOISE THAT HAPPENS AT THIS TIME AND A JERKING MOVEMENT YOU FEEL AS THE ENGINE CATCHES ITSELF. LIKE THE TRANNY IS TOO LOW OR SOMETHING.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY PERFORMED THE REPAIR FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V246000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE DEALER STATED THAT THE HOOD WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
THE DOOR LATCH ON MY FRONT PASSENGER SIDE BROKE, AND WILL NO LONGER LATCH. THIS IS THE SECOND LATCH ON MY CAR TO BREAK IN THIS MANNER. *TR
REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT STAY SHUT. I AM GUESSING THAT IT IS THE LATCHING MECHANISM THAT HAS FAILED. I HAD TO TIE THE DOOR SHUT WITH A RATCHET STRAP SO IT COULD BE DRIVEN HOME. THE CAR HAS ONLY 40000 MILES ON IT, AND THE REAR DOORS ARE RARELY USED. I HAVE SEEN THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES. *TR
I HAVE HAD MULTIPLE INCIDENTS WITH THE TRANSMISSION OF MY 2012 FIESTA, BEGINNING ROUGHLY IN NOVEMBER OF 2014. THE FIRST SPECIFIC INCIDENT I CAN RECALL OCCURRED ON DECEMBER 18, 2014. I WAS DRIVING FROM TOLEDO, OHIO TO THE DETROIT, MI AIRPORT AND BACK. I HAD TWO OTHER PASSENGERS IN MY CAR WHO NOTICED THE VIOLENT SHAKING/SHUDDERING PROBLEMS THAT MY VEHICLE WAS HAVING WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. THE SHUDDERING OCCURS AT BOTH LOW SPEEDS AND HIGH SPEEDS. THE SHUDDERING DOES NOT OCCUR DAILY BUT ROUGHLY 4-5 DAYS A WEEK, CAUSING DIFFICULTIES WITH ACCELERATION, BREAKING, AND CONTROLLING THE VEHICLE. ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO I WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AT A BUSY INTERSECTION. WHEN I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE MY CAR STARTED SHAKING SO VIOLENTLY THAT IT COULD NOT MOVE FORWARD ANY MORE. AT THAT TIME A SEMI-TRUCK WAS COMING UP BEHIND ME AND HAD TO SWERVE TO AVOID HITTING ME. THE SPEED LIMIT AT THIS BUSY INTERSECTION IS 40MPH. AT THIS POINT MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE TAKEN IT IN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION. SO FAR, THE REPAIRS HAVE BEEN UNSUCCESSFUL AND I AM TOLD THE POTENTIAL PARTS TO FIX THE ISSUE (THE CLUTCH) IS ON BACK ORDER FOR A MINUTE OF 6-8 WEEKS. I WAS TOLD TO CONTINUE DRIVING MY CAR IN THE MEAN TIME, AND THAT NO ONE CAN ASSIST ME AT THIS TIME, EVEN THOUGH I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO RECTIFY THIS ISSUE SINCE JANUARY 2015. ALSO, THE CLUTCH IS NOT GUARANTEED TO FIX THE PROBLEM, AS IT IS THE SAME MAKE AS THE ONE CURRENTLY IN MY CAR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND ABRUPTLY STOPPED WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE POWER TRAIN FAILED AND THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION OUT OF GEAR. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL OTHER TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000.
THE DOOR LATCH FOR THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR STOPPED WORKING. THE DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE ANYMORE. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO THE DOOR. *TR
LATE IN THE AFTERNOON, AFTER SECURING MY TODDLER IN THE BACK OF MY CAR, I CLOSED THE REAR-PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND PROCEEDED TO START THE CAR IN A BUSINESS PARKING LOT. THE DOOR SOUNDED AND FELT LIKE NORMAL WHEN I CLOSED THE DOOR. AFTER STARTING THE CAR AND DRIVING A FEW YARDS, THE OPEN-DOOR INDICATOR APPEARED ON THE DASH AND I NOTICED, AS I APPLIED THE BRAKES, THAT THE REAR-PASSENGER DOOR BEGAN TO OPEN. AFTER STOPPING, I INSPECTED THE DOOR AND FOUND THAT THE DOOR LATCH HAD FAILED COMPLETELY. THE LATCH COULD BE MANIPULATED BY HAND, BUT IT WOULD NOT LATCH AT ALL. I SECURED THE DOOR AS BEST I COULD WITH A NECK TIE AND RETURNED HOME, CONCERNED THAT AN OPEN DOOR WOULD SERIOUSLY COMPROMISE THE SAFETY OF THE CAR, IN PARTICULAR, THE REAR PASSENGER COMPARTMENT IN WHICH MY TODDLER WAS SEATED. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP THE FOLLOWING DAY AND THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THAT FORD USUALLY WARRANTIES THE REPLACEMENT OF THE LATCH. THEY DECLINED TO WARRANTY THE LATCH IN MY CAR AND I WAS FORCED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR, WHAT SEEMS TO ME, TO BE A SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECT. THE DEALERSHIP SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE WAS VERY SURPRISED BY FORD'S REFUSAL TO WARRANTY THE LATCH AND ENCOURAGED ME TO KEEP MY RECEIPTS IN CASE OF A RECALL. *TR

MY THROTTLE BODY STUCK OPEN. THE FUSION AND THE ESCAPE HAS AN EXTENDED WARRANTY REQUIRED BY YOU BUT YOU DID NOT INCLUDE THE FIESTA. SAME ISSUE. SITTING AT A STOPLIGHT AND MY CAR REVS BETWEEN 2,000 AND 3,000 RPMS. IT WENT ABOVE 3,000 RPMS A COUPLE OF TIMES. I LUCKILY HAD MY OWN EXTENDED WARRANTY SO IT ONLY COST ME $100.00 TO FIX IT BUT THE FIESTA (AND PROBABLY ANY FORD MADE IN THOSE YEARS) SHOULD BE COVERED. IT WAS SUPER SCARY. LUCKILY MY ENGINE IS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION SO I WAS ABLE TO PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL AND NOT GET INTO ANY CAR ACCIDENT. (AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WOULD HAVE A BIG PROBLEM). *JS
IN DECEMBER 2014 I TOOK MY 2012 FORD FIESTA TO THE PACIFICO FORD DEALERSHIP FOR A SHUTTER CLUTCH PROBLEM. THEY "FIXED" THE PROBLEM BUT MY CAR CONTINUES TO JERK, STUTTER, SHAKE WHEN IN FIRST GEAR. THE CAR ALSO MAKES A NOISE. I TOOK THE CAR BACK FOR A SOFTWARE UPDATE IN OCTOBER 2015 BUT THE PROBLEMS CONTINUED. MY HUSBAND AND I WERE TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING THE DEALERSHIP CAN DO BECAUSE IT IS JUST HOW THE TRANSMISSION IS MADE. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD NOT CAUSE A PROBLEM. I EXPLAINED THAT WHEN SITTING IN TRAFFIC IT FEELS LIKE MY CAR IS GOING TO STALL; IT ALSO JERKS. THE DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGED THIS, ALONG WITH THE NOISE AND AGAIN TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE AND THAT THEY WERE CHANGING THE TRANSMISSION IN NEWER MODELS. I HAVE CONCERNS WITH THE TRANSMISSION, ESPECIALLY SINCE I TRAVEL ON THE HIGHWAY EVERYDAY TO AND FROM WORK AND AM CONCERNED THAT THE DELAY IN SHIFTING WILL CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT THE PACIFICO FORD DEALERSHIP ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM AND IS DOING NOTHING TO HELP. MY WARRANTY IT GOING TO EXPIRE AND MY THOUGHTS ARE THAT IS WHEN FORD WILL BE ABLE TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM SINCE THEY WILL NOT BE PAYING FOR IT; I WILL.
TODAY AFTER LOADING MY SON INTO HIS CAR SEAT (LUCKILY I HAD HIM SECURED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BACKSEAT) I TRIED TO CLOSE THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AND IT WOULD NOT LATCH. I TRIED SEVERAL TIMES CLOSING AND SETTING THE LOCKS, AND EVEN SETTING THE CHILD LOCK TO NO AVAIL. I HAD TO RESORT TO RUNNING BUNGIE CORDS THROUGH THE DOOR HANDLE TILL I COULD GET TO THE DEALERSHIP. AT LEAST THEY OWNED UP TO IT BEING A WARRANTY ISSUE BUT MAYBE THEY SHOULD LOOK INTO ALL OF THE DOOR LATCHES BEFORE I GET IT BACK. *TR
I AM WRITING IN REGARDS TO MY 2012 FORD FIESTA WHICH WAS PURCHASED IN JUNE2014. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. IT WAS TAKEN TO DEALER WHO SAID THERE IS NO PROBLEM. THE ISSUE PERSISTED AND WAS TAKEN TO A DIFFERENT FORD DEALER WHO UPGRADED SOFTWARE. VEHICLE WAS FINE FOR A MONTH,NOW WORSE THAN EVER. WAS TAKEN BACK TO SAME DEALER AND WAS TOLD YES, WE HEAR GRINDING NOISE, AND WE FEEL THE SLIPPING BUT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. WHAT KIND OF SENSE IS THAT!!! I DID SOME RESEARCH AND FOUND THOUSANDS OF OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUES AND SAME RESPONSES FROM THE FORD PEOPLE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! FORD SHOULD TAKE SOME KIND OF RESPONSIBILITY TO THIS ISSUE MY CAR IS SO BAD,MY WIFE IS SCARED TO DRIVE FEARING SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR. I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO FILE A LEMON LAW SUIT WITH FORD FOR NEGLIGENCE. DRIVING HOME FROM WORK DASH INDICATOR WARNED PASSENGER REAR SIDE DOOR WAS NOT LATCHED (CAME OPEN). STOPPED AND WAS UNABLE TO GET DOOR TO LATCH - TIED A STRAP TO IT TO HOLD IT SHUT. THIS IS THE SECOND INCIDENT OF LATCH NOT HOLDING DOOR CLOSED ON THIS FIESTA. FORD DEALERSHIP, ENERGY COUNTRY IN PORT ARTHUR, TX, REPLACED PASSENGER DOOR LATCH WHEN IT DID THE SAME THING. VERY DANGEROUS AND GETTING RID OF THIS VEHICLE ASAP. *TR
JUST GOT DONE PUTTING BAGS IN MY BACK SEAT THROUGH THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR. I CLOSED THE DOOR AND THEN GOT IN MY CAR AND LEFT MY HOUSE. I TURNED LEFT OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR JUST FLEW OPEN. I GOT OUT TO INVESTIGATE AND MY DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT. I TRIED OVER AND OVER AGAIN. THE LATCH MOVED FREELY AT EVERY POSITRON. IT IS BROKEN INTERNALLY IN THE LATCH OR SOMETHING. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO BE IN. I HAVE TWO CHILDREN IN CAR SEATS. WHAT IF THEY WERE IN THE BACK SEAT. THIS SEEMS TO BE A ISSUE WITH THESE CARS AND IF NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT OR EVEN KILLED. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS, THE VEHICLE VIBRATES/SHUDDERS AND TAKES A FEW SECONDS UNTIL IT STARTS TO GO. IT HAPPENS A LOT WHEN MAKING TURNS AT SLOWS SPEEDS OR WHEN STOPPED AND THEN STARTING UP AGAIN. THERE WAS A RECALL DONE FOR THE CLUTCH. IT TOOK THE DEALERSHIP TWO MONTH TO GET THE REPLACEMENT PART BUT THE CAR IS STILL DOING THE SAME THING AFTER THE FIX. WE HAVE BEEN THERE 3 TIMES SINCE IT HAS BEEN SUPPOSEDLY FIXED AND THEY HAVE TOLD US THAT, "OUR TRANSMISSION HAS LEARNED BAD THINGS AND THEY HAVE RESET IT." THIS IS NOT A SOLUTION NOR APPROPRIATE RESPONSE FOR WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH OUR VEHICLE. TODAY I WENT TO PULL ONTO A BUSY HIGHWAY WITH OUR BABY IN THE CAR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO. I STEPPED ON THE GAS AND IT WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO GEAR AS CARS WERE COMING BEHIND US. I HAD TO PRESS HE GAS DOWN TO THE FLOOR AND FLOOR IT AND THE RPM'S SHOT UP TO OVER 5 AND WE WERE ABLE TO GET GOING THEN. THIS IS OUR PRIMARY VEHICLE THAT WE USE TO TRANSPORT OUR CHILD AND IT IS NOT SAFE. WE ARE HOPING SOMETHING CAN BE DONE ABOUT THIS. WE BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE BRAND NEW, OFF THE LOT IN JULY OF 2012.
CAR WAS IN MOTION ON THE FREEWAY PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FLEW OPEN AND WOULD NOT STAY SHUT. PULLED OVER CHECKED INCIDENT DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE AT ALL. AROUND 11/16/14 I WAS ON INTERSTATE I-35 SOUTH AND I WAS EXITING AND THE REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR OPENED UP AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN AT AROUND 50 MPH I THEN PULLED OVER AND THE DOOR WOULD NOT CLOSE SO I HAD TO DRIVE HOME THAT WAY. *TR

I WAS DRIVING ALONG AND TURNED THE CORNER AND THE BACK DOOR SWUNG OPEN. I PULLED OVER AND TRIED TO SHUT THE DOOR AND IT WOULD NOT SHUT. I TRIED TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG AND THE LATCH SEEMED TO BE IN AN OPEN POSITION BUT WOULD NOT ENGAGE,. I DID NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO I WENT TO WALMART AND PURCHASED SOME CORD SO I COULD TIE THE DOORS TOGETHER. I SEARCHED THE INTERNET ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND THERE SEEM TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE FIESTA DOOR LATCHES. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO PALM SPRINGS FORD ON FRIDAY , NOVEMBER 14 2014 AND AFTER 2 HOURS WAS ADVISED IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE WARRANTY SINCE MY WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED AFTER 36,000 MILES AND THEY WANT OVER 300 DOLLARS WITH PARTS AND LABOR TO FIX THE DOOR LATCH THAT IS OBVIOUSLY SHOULD OF BEEN A RECALL FROM FORD SINCE SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THAT PROBLEM WITH THE LATCHES. THE SERVICE ADVISOR STATED THAT I SHOULD CALL THE CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE WHICH I DID AND THEY OPENED UP A CASE WHICH I HANDED BACK TO THE SERVICE ADVISOR, AND GOT A CALL SEVERAL DAYS LATER TO ADVISE ME THAT MY WARRANTY IS OUT AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY. I ASKED THE SERVICE ADVISOR TO HAVE HIS MANAGER CALL ME. A FEW HOURS LATER THE SERVICE ADVISOR CALLED BACK AND STATED THAT HIS MANAGER SAID HE WOULD GIVE ME THE PART AT 1/2 PRICE. I ASKED HIM TO HAVE HIS MANAGER CALL ME AND TO THIS DATE HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM. I CALLED TWICE TODAY AND ASKED THE SERVICE ADVISOR TO CAL ME AND STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HIM.. I DON'T' FEEL LIKE I SHOULD HAVE TO PUT OUT THAT KIND OF MONEY ON A DEFECTIVE PART WHEN FORD KNOWS THAT THIS PART IS DEFECTIVE. *TR
GOING UP A HILL IN TOWN THE TRANSMISSION WENT IN AND OUT OF GEAR, ALMOST COULD NOT MAKE IT UP THE HILL BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT STAY IN GEAR. *TR

KEY WOULD NOT TURN THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER COULD NOT GET THE KEY TO TURN THE IGNITION, HE ALSO COULD NOT GET THE BRAKE-SHIFT INTERLOCK OVERRIDE TO WORK AND COULD NOT GET THE CAR OUT OF PARK. ENDED UP DAMAGING THE FRONT BUMPER TRYING TO HOOK-UP TO THE FRONT FROM THE SIDE AND EVENTUALLY TOWED IT FROM BEHIND WITH DOLLIES. THE TRANSMISSION ON THE FIESTA SHUTTERS WHICH CAUSES LACK OF ACCELERATION, DELAY OF ACCELERATION OR A SKIPPING OF THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE YOU MAY PULL OUT IN TRAFFIC AND LOSE THE ABILITY TO ACCELERATE, TRANSMISSION ISSUE CAN ALSO CAUSE LUNGING FROM A STOPPED POSITION WHEN IT ENGAGES UNEXPECTEDLY. VEHICLE HAS BEEN "REPAIRED" SEVERAL TIMES WITH NUMEROUS CLUTCHES, SEALS AND REPROGRAMMING OF CONTROLS. REPAIRS USUALLY ONLY LAST A MAX OF 500 MILES AND AT THIS TIME FORD DOES NOT HAVE A PERMANENT FIX TO THIS ISSUE WHICH I FEEL IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN FOR DRIVERS. I DROPPED MY SON OFF AT HIS HOME AND HE OPENED THE PASSENGER SIDE BACK DOOR TO RETRIEVE HIS THINGS AND THEN HE SHUT THE DOOR AND WENT INSIDE. INSIDE THE CAR I NOTICED THAT THE DOOR AJAR WARNING WAS ON AND I GOT OUT OF THE CAR TO CLOSE THE PASSENGER SIDE BACK DOOR, BUT THE DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT. AFTER LOOKING AT IT FOR SEVERAL MOMENTS IT APPEARED THAT THE BACK DOOR LATCH WAS BROKEN. I GOT BACK INTO MY CAR, MOVED IT BACK OUT OF THE WAY AND TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, THEN TEXT MY SON WHO CAME BACK OUT AND MANAGED TO TIE MY DOOR UP WITH A BUNGEE CORD SO THAT I COULD GET HOME (40 MILES AWAY). SINCE IT WAS LATE WHEN I GOT HOME I CALLED THE DEALER AS SOON AS I WAS ABLE AND THE SERVICE GUY TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD BE $550 ISH TO GET IT FIXED. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AROUND FOR 6 MONTHS HOPING THAT THERE WOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS DEFECT AND HOPING THAT NONE OF THE OTHER DOOR LATCHES WOULD BREAK.
