TRANSMISSION SLIPS, CHUGS, GRINDS, HESITATES, JERKS, FAILS TO ACCELERATE AND BOGS OUT EACH TIME BEFORE SLAMMING INTO GEAR, JERKING THE CAR FORWARD QUICKLY, THEN FAILS TO DECELERATE WHEN ENGAGING THE BREAKS CAUSING VERY NEAR REAR END WRECKS. ON HIGHWAY AT 55-65 MPH, CAR IS UNABLE TO DOWN SHIFT PROPERLY. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP TIMES CLEANED AND REPLACE CLUTCH OR PROGRAMMED. STILL NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY
FORD FIESTA TRANSMISSION. I HAVE BEEN A LONG STANDING FORD CUSTOMER AND HAVE TRIED TO STAND BYE THE COMPANY BUT I CAN NO LONGER BE SILENT REGARDING MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS CAR. I HAVE HAD THE CAR REPEATABILITY REPAIRED, THE CAR HAS PUT ME AT RISK MULTIPLE TIMES, FORD HAS NOT BEEN TRUTHFUL WITH ME ALONG THE WAY. I HAVE COMMUNICATED DIRECTLY TO FORD MY CONCERNS AND THEY HAVE LEFT ME WITH A CAR THAT IS UNSAFE, UNRELIABLE NOR SHOULD I TRY TO DUMP ON SOME UNSUSPECTING PERSON. THE COMPANY, COURT SYSTEM AND THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO WORK TOGETHER TO GET PEOPLE OUT OF THESE CARS ASAP. THIS IS WRONG AND EVERYONE KNOWS IT BUT NOTHING IS BEING DONE, IF THIS INFORMATION NEEDS TO GO TO ANOTHER FEDERAL AGENCY, PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH THEM. THIS CAR HAS BEEN A DEFECTIVE SAFETY HAZARD SINCE DAY ONE SINCE I BOUGHT IT, 8/22/13 AND IT HAS NOR WILL IT EVER BE RIGHT. PLEASE GET INVOLVED WITH THIS SYSTEMATIC SAFETY FAILURE.
WE BOUGHT A 2013 FORD FIESTA IN AUGUST OF 2013. NOT THREE WEEKS INTO OWNING IT, WE HAD SOME TROUBLES AND THE CAR WOULDN'T START. IT TURNS OUT THERE WAS A BAD FUEL PUMP THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WHILE IT WAS BEING REPLACED, I WAS GIVEN A FORD LOANER TO DRIVE FOR ALMOST A WEEK, WHILE THEY HAD THE CAR TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP.??THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN LOOKED AT 3 DIFFERENT TIMES. THE FIRST TIME THE SERVICE REP SAID THAT THERE WAS SOME KIND OF LIQUID ON SOME PART THAT MAKES IT NOT CHANGE GEARS QUICKLY AND THAT THEY WIPED IT OFF AND IT SHOULD BE GOOD BUT THAT IT CAN COME BACK. THE SECOND TIME THEY SAID THEY REWORKED THE COMPUTER AND THE CAR NEEDS A CHANCE TO ?GET TO KNOW THE WAY I DRIVE? AND THEY SENT ME AWAY. THE THIRD TIME THEY LOOKED AT THE TRANSMISSION, THEY SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG AND THAT THE LOUD, CRUNCHY, JUMPY THINGS I AM EXPERIENCING ARE CALLED "NORMAL FOR THE CAR" AND THEY SEND ME AWAY. THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING ELSE AND SOMEONE HIGHER UP IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT PRINTED OUT A NOTICE ABOUT FORD FIESTA TRANSMISSIONS TO ASSURE ME THAT THE SOUNDS AND JERKING I WAS EXPERIENCING WAS NORMAL WHEN WE RECEIVE THE SURVEY FOR OUR EXPERIENCE, OF COURSE WE GIVE A NEGATIVE RATING. WE DID NOT GET A SERVICE THAT WE FEEL WE WERE DUE AND THE CAR DOES NOT DRIVE AS PROMISED. THE NEXT TIME I BROUGHT IT IN FOR THE SAME ISSUES, OUR REP, [XXX] TOLD ME THAT ?WE SCREWED HER ON THAT SURVEY AND THAT HER JOB IS ON THE LINE WITH THINGS LIKE THAT ? IF SHE GETS ANYTHING LOWER THAN EXCELLENT?. WELL, SORRY, OUR EXPERIENCE WAS NOT EXCELLENT. WE ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THE WAY THE CAR DRIVES, IT SPUTTERS FROM IDLE TO FIRST GEAR AND IS SOMETIMES UNSAFE WHEN YOU NEED TO TURN INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I BOUGHT A NEW 2013 FORD FIESTA IN NOVEMBER OF 2012. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP MORE THAN 3 TIMES, ONCE WAS A BROKEN CATALYTIC CONVERTER, THE OTHER TIME WAS A SOAKED CLUTCH, AND ANOTHER TIME WAS TO GET RECALIBRATED. THIS CAR HAS ACCELERATION ISSUES AND ALMOST CAUSES MANY ACCIDENTS FOR ME, IT IS SHAKY AND BUMPYS, AND JUMPY. EVERYTIME I TAKE IT IN THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH AND THEY ADVISED ME ITS NOT NORMAL FOR NEW CARS, WHEN I READ THE REVIEWS EVERYONE HAS THE SAME ISSUES. THERE IS ALSO A ROLL BACK WHEN YOU STOP AND PRESS THE GAS TO GO, I HAVE ALMOST HIT MULTIPLE CARS IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE OF THIS. *TR
I BOUGHT THE 2013 FIESTA IN AUGUST OF 2013. WITH 500 MILES ON IT THE TRANSMISSION WAS LURCHING, CLANKING, AND GRINDING. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS NORMAL AND THEY WOULDN'T EVEN LOOK AT IT. I ALSO COMPLAINED THAT THE CAR WAS ONLY GETTING 25MPG HIGHWAY WHEN IT CLAIMED 40. THEY SAID IT WAS IN THE WINDOW FOR EPA, AND IT WOULD GET BETTER AFTER 1500 MILES. I COMPLAINED TO THE MAIN FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I NOW HAVE $14K MILES ON IT AND IT STILL AVERAGES 20-25MPG HIGHWAY. I HAD TO TAKE THE CAR TO THEM AT $12K MILES TO FIX THE ENGINE MALFUNCTION. WHEN I CALLED THE MECHANIC HE ALREADY KNEW WHAT IT WAS, WHICH MEANS IT HAPPENS A LOT. THE ENGINE STILL LURCHES, CLANKS, GRINDS, ETC. I'M $8K UPSIDE DOWN ON TRADE IN ALREADY BECAUSE THE VALUE OF THIS CAR HAS DROPPED SO MUCH IN THE LAST YEAR DUE TO ALL THESE ISSUES. *TR
DOOR LATCHES ARE FAILING. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME IN 1 YEAR. PART# BE8Z*5426412*B LOCK ASY PURCHASE DATE: 11/10/12 RIGHT REAR DOOR LATCH FAIL: 8/19/13 @ DEALER FOR 9 DAYS (MILEAGE 2439). RIGHT FRONT DOOR LATCH FAIL: 6/30/14 @ DEALER FOR 18 DAYS (MILEAGE 10843). LEFT REAR DOOR LATCH FAIL: 9/02/14 STILL AT DEALER (MILEAGE 12460). DEALER SAYS PART ON BACK ORDER. DELIVERY OF CAR UNKNOWN. REPAIRS HAVE BEEN LIMITED TO A REPLACEMENT OF THE BROKEN LATCH WITH THE ORIGINAL PART NUMBER THAT FAILED TO BEGIN WITH. REPORTED TO FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE (800) 392-3673 ON 9/03/14 SAFETY AND SECURITY ARE MY FIRST CONCERN AS WELL AS FINANCIAL BURDEN ONCE OUT OF WARRANTY. *TR
WAS ACCELERATING AFTER A STOPLIGHT, AND SUDDENLY AFTER MUCH HESITATION, THE VEHICLE LURCHED FORWARD VIOLENTLY AND SHUDDERED. IT CONTINUED DOING THIS AT EVERY STOP-AND-GO FOR WELL OVER A YEAR, AS WELL AS MAKING HORRIFIC GRINDING NOISES, AND STARTED DRAGGING HORRIBLY RECENTLY. I TOOK IT IN FOR CLUTCH/SEAL REPLACEMENT AS INDICATED BY A LETTER FROM FORD, AND GOT THE VEHICLE BACK YESTERDAY. IT ISN'T LURCHING AS MUCH, BUT NEVER SHIFTS INTO SIXTH GEAR (IT NEVER DID BEFORE EITHER) AND NOW VIBRATES AT HIGH SPEEDS, AS WELL AS MAKING A NOISE ONLY DESCRIBABLE AS "A BARREL ROLLING DOWN A ROAD". I AM IN THE MIDST OF A COMPLAINT CASE WITH FORD, AND AM ALSO RESEARCHING A CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT/HAVE SUBMITTED MY STORY FOR A LAWYER WORKING ON A SUIT. I HAVE ALMOST HAD MULTIPLE WRECKS IN THE LAST YEAR DUE TO THESE ISSUES, AND AS I AM A PHOTOGRAPHER, I CARRY EXPENSIVE COMPANY EQUIPMENT IN MY CAR DAILY. THIS VEHICLE PUTS MY EQUIPMENT AND MYSELF AT RISK. MY OWN DEMAND IS FOR FORD TO BUY THE CAR BACK, OR AT LEAST PAY IT OFF SO I CAN SELL IT, AND RECALL THE CAR OR AT LEAST THE TRANSMISSION. THIS CAR WAS A HORRIBLE MISTAKE TO BUILD. WHO PUTS TWO THREE-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS TOGETHER WITH ELECTRICAL WIRING AND CALLS IT A SIX-SPEED AUTOMATIC? SOMEONE WHO'S TRYING TO BE CHEAP, THAT'S WHO. WITH NO REGARD FOR THE SAFETY OF CUSTOMERS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE AT A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND THE CONTACT NOTICED AN ABNORMAL RATTLING FROM THE ENGINE ON SEVERAL SEPARATE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS BUT THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,000.
THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION CAUSES PROBLEMS, AND FORD HAS WORKED ON IT MANY TIMES BUT HASN'T FIXED IT.THEY REPLACE THE 'CLUTCH' IN THE A/T AND REPROGRAM THE A/T, BUT THE PROBLEM REMAINS. THE TRANSMISSION/CLUTCH SLIPS; CAUSING THE CAR TO BRIEFLY LOSE POWER, THEN THE CAR LURCHES FORWARD WHEN THE A/T GRABS 3-4 SECONDS LATER. THE DANGER IS TWO-FOLD. A) WHEN YOU ARE STOPPED - FOR EXAMPLE - AT A 4-WAY STOP SIGN. YOU START TO GO, THE CAR LOOSES POWER AND SLOWS DOWN; SOMEONE ELSE THINKS YOU ARE YIELDING TO THEM AND THEY GO - MEANWHILE, THE FIESTA'S A/T GRABS AND SUDDENLY LURCHES FORWARD. THIS HAS CAUSED A NEAR CRASH SEVERAL TIMES. B) WHEN YOU ARE AT A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT WITH A CAR BEHIND YOU. WHEN SAFE, YOU START TO MOVE FORWARD, THE CAR LOSES POWER AND SLOWS, AND THE CAR BEHIND YOU ENDS UP SLAMMING ON ITS BRAKES TO AVOID HITTING YOU. THIS HAS LED TO SOME NEAR MISSES. THE CAR IS UNSAFE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A COMPLETE STOP, THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS FUNCTIONING NORMALLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP. WENT TO STEP ON GAS TO TURN RIGHT AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO ABOVE 7 MPH FOR ABOUT 8 SECONDS, THEN IT SHIFTED HARD INTO SECOND GEAR AND SPED DOWN THE STREET. I COMPLETED 4 MORE TURNS AROUND THE BLOCK OF MY HOUSING TRACK AND AT ALL 4 IT DID THE SAME THING UNTIL I REACHED MY DRIVEWAY AND HAD IT TOWED TO A DEALER. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN AUG 2013 CAR BEGAN HESITATING AND JERKING WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT MORE THAN 4 OR 5 TIMES WITHIN 3 YEARS AND FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE PROBLEM IS THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH AND IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, THE LAST TIME IT TOOK ALMOST A WEEK TO GET THE PARTS AND TO REPLACED IT. THIS IS REALLY INCONVENIENT ESPECIALLY THE FIRST FEW TIMES THEY DID NOT PROVIDE NO LOANER. BUYING THIS CAR WAS A TOTAL LOSS OF MONEY BECAUSE AS SOON AS THIS WARRANTY ENDS, I WILL END UP PAYING FOR THESE REPAIRS. FORD IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT WITH THE EXCEPTION OF REPLACING THE CLUTCH IF THERE IS STILL WARRANTY.
ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS NOW MY TRACTION CONTROL AND ABS HAVE MALFUNCTIONED. TONIGHT WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE ABS, TRACTION CONTROL AND HILL ASSIST WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON FOLLOWED BY A COMPLETE LOSS OF POWER STEERING. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED AND LUNGED FORWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,426 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20,300.
I PULLED INTO A PARKING SPACE, IMMEDIATELY PUT THE CAR IN REVERSE, STILL HAD MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, STARTED TO MOVE MY FOOT TO STEP ON THE GAS AND THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD. THE LURCH WAS STRONG ENOUGH TO GO OVER A SPEED BUMP. I WAS ABLE TO STOP THE CAR (IT HAD GONE APPROXIMATELY 10 FEET). I PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE FORWARD OUT OF THE AREA. IT STARTED TO DO THE SAME THING AGAIN YESTERDAY BUT I WAS PREPARED FOR IT AND SLAMMED DOWN ON THE BRAKE STOPPING IT. REVERSE IS A LONG WAY FROM DRIVE SO I AM NOT SURE WHAT IS HAPPENING. I HAD THE CAR INTO THE DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR EARLIER BECAUSE OF THE LOUD GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT LEFT SIDE, FIRST THEY TOLD ME IT WAS A CABLE THEN THEY TOLD ME IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION AND NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT, THAT THE NOISE WAS NORMAL. ALSO THE CAR ROLLS BACK ON EVEN THE SLIGHTEST INCLINE AND YOU HAVE TO KEEP YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE OR YOU WILL HIT THE CAR BEHIND YOU. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SEEM TO BE OPERATING CORRECTLY, SLIPPING OR SOMETHING. I NOW HAVE A NOTE IN THE CAR AND WHENEVER I PUT IT INTO REVERSE I AM MONITORING IT BECAUSE I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING AND AT WHAT POINT. IT HAPPENED SO QUICKLY THE FIRST TIME THAT I WAS MORE IN SHOCK THAN ANYTHING ELSE AND JUST RELIEVED THAT I WAS ABLE TO STOP IT AND THAT IT CAUSED NO DAMAGE TO ANYONE OR ANYTHING, EVEN THE CAR ITSELF.
WHEN TRYING TO TAKE OFF CAR ALMOST SHUTS OFF AND THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN PICKS BACK UP AND TAKES OFF. SOMETIMES COMING OUT OF FIRST GEAR THE GAS STICKS AND CHUGS LIKE IT ISN'T GETTING GAS JUST GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY. IT IS SO BAD THAT IF YOU WANT TO TAKE OFF INTO TRAFFIC YOU HAVE TO CUT THE AIR OFF OR HEAT TO GET ALL THE POWER YOU CAN. IF YOU HAVE THE AC ON AND MAKE A TURN AND SHIFT DOWN YOU HAVE TO GO A GEAR LOWER IF THE AC IS ON . THEN IT CHUGS ALONG UNTIL IT CATCHES UP. *TR
I PICKED UP THIS VEHICLE BRAND- NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP ON 8/2/13. BY 8/5, THREE DAYS AFTER I GOT THE CAR, THE ENTIRE FRONT END HAD STARTED TO SHUDDER AND CHUG, AND THE "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT CAME ON. IT FELT LIKE A DEEP-SEATED TIMING ISSUE (THE ENGINE RPMS HAD BEEN A BIT OFF SINCE I PICKED UP THE CAR ON 8/2, AND IT APPEARED TO BE SHIFTING ODDLY, EVEN BEFORE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON). THE CLUTCH ALSO ENGAGED AT ODD TIMES (I BOUGHT AN AUTOMATIC), AND IT DIDN'T APPEAR THAT THE ENGINE RPMS AND TRANSMISSION SHIFTING WERE SYNCHING UP CORRECTLY AT ALL. MY DIAGNOSIS WAS CONFIRMED WHEN I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ROMANO FORD IN SYRACUSE, NY, WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE NEXT DAY (8/6), I WAS TOLD THAT A "CAM PHASER" HAD FAILED ON THE ENGINE DUE TO A MANUFACTURING DEFECT, AND THAT THE ENGINE OIL WOULD NEED TO BE COMPLETELY FLUSHED AND CHANGED. AFTER A BIT OF RESEARCH, I FOUND OUT THAT THE PHASER IS A SMALL GEAR THAT REGULATES ENGINE TIMING....BY BEING CUT INCORRECTLY, METAL SHAVINGS FROM THE GEAR HAD CONTAMINATED MY ENGINE OIL. THIS, OBVIOUSLY, IS NOT AN EASY FIX. BY SCREWING UP MY ENGINE TIMING, THE REGULATION OF MY ENTIRE VEHICLE IS SCREWED UP. THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING IN THE SHOP SINCE 8/6 (IT IS NOW 8/22), WITH NO RESOLUTION IN SIGHT. THEY BROUGHT IN A FORD TECHNICIAN FROM GOD-KNOWS-WHERE THAT IS SUPPOSED TO FIX IT; IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED 2 DAYS AGO TO NO AVAIL. I AM NOW CLOSING IN ON THE TIME PERIOD FOR INVOKING THE NY STATE LEMON LAW; I HOPE I CAN GET MY $ BACK AND SEND THIS THING TO THE DUMP! FORD NEEDS TO RECALL THESE CRAPPY THINGS ASAP! *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2013 FIESTA NEW OFF THE CAR LOT. IT WAS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. IT HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP TWICE FOR CLUTCH REPLACEMENTS. I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT THE LAST TIME BECAUSE IT HESITATED AND THEN TOOK OFF AND RAN IN TO THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. FORD DIDN'T CARE ABOUT THE ACCIDENT. I HAD TO ARGUE WITH THEM TO GET A CAR TO DRIVE WHILE THEY FIXED MY CAR YET AGAIN. IT HAS AGAIN STARTED HESITATING AND THEN EXCELLING QUICKLY AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO ANYMORE. I BOUGHT A NEW CAR FOR RELIABILITY AND THIS IS FAR FROM RELIABLE. IT IS VERY VERY LOUD ALSO. *TR
MY 2013 FORD FIESTA SE HATCHBACK HAS ACCELERATION ISSUES I BELIEVE WILL CAUSE ME TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT. WHILE ACCELERATING INTO TRAFFIC THE VEHICLE CAN DOWN SHIFT OR "BOG DOWN", CAUSING ME TO LOSE ACCELERATION AND NEARLY CAUSING COLLISIONS. HAD IT NOT BEEN FOR THE DEFENSIVE DRIVING OF THE OTHER DRIVERS I DEFINITELY WOULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. *TR
SINCE SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED MY CAR, I'VE NOTICED THE REAR DOORS ARE UNUSUALLY DIFFICULT TO CLOSE COMPLETELY ON THE FIRST TRY. THEY SEEM TO TAKE A LOT OF EFFORT TO GET THEM TO LATCH PROPERLY OR ELSE THEY STAY HALF CLOSED BUT NOT COMPLETELY LATCHED IN. I DIDN'T REALLY THINK MUCH OF IT UNTIL I READ A NEWS STORY YESTERDAY THAT MENTIONED A NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS WITH DOORS EVEN OPENING AT SPEED! THE BACK DOORS ON THE FIESTA (THE SEDAN, AT LEAST) ARE SMALLER AND SIGNIFICANTLY LIGHTER THAN THE FRONT ONES, SO I THINK THAT MAY BE WHY THE FRONT ONES LATCH FINE ON THE FIRST TRY, BUT THE BACK DOORS ARE MORE TOUCHY. EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR BACK IN JULY OF 2013 IT HAS HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES. IT FAILS TO ACCELERATE QUICKLY, INSTEAD JUST GRINDS GEARS AND VIOLENTLY SHAKES. FORD SUPPOSEDLY "FIXED" THIS 6 MONTHS AGO, WITH THE END RESULT BEING ACTUALLY WORSE. I WAS TOLD IT NEEDED ANOTHER PART (CLUTCH) AND HAVE BEEN WAITING 6 WEEKS FOR IT, WHICH IS HOW LONG THEY SAID IT WOULD BE. I JUST CALLED AND THEY SAID THIS IS SUCH A BIG ISSUE THAT THERE WERE 35,000 OF THESE PARTS ON BACK ORDER AND IT WOULD BE ANOTHER 12 WEEKS AT LEAST UNTIL THIS ISSUE IS FIXED. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN! I HAVE 2 LITTLE CHILDREN AND IF A CAR WERE TO SWERVE INTO MY LANE I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE OUT OF THE WAY. I TOLD THIS TO FORD AND WHAT THEY SAID IS THAT "THIS HASN'T HAPPENED YET" WHICH AFTER READING REPORTS ONLINE, I CAN TELL IS UNTRUE. THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED FOR OVER 4 YEARS. THEY DIDN'T OFFER ANY OTHER ASSISTANCE, EXCEPT TO TELL ME THAT MAYBE I SHOULD JUST TRADE IT BACK IN. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THIS ISSUE HASN'T BEEN ADDRESSED YET. AND IT IS SHOCKING TO SEE HOW LITTLE FORD CARES FOR THE SAFETY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE, A 2013 FORD FIESTA TITANIUM HATCHBACK ON MAY 28, 2013. I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS PROBLEMS WITH IT SINCE I PURCHASED IT, ESPECIALLY WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND NOW THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I JUST RECEIVED A RECALL ON THE LOCKING MECHANISMS FOR THE DOORS. THEY COULD BECOME UNLOCKED ANYTIME. THERE HAVE BEEN VARIOUS RECALLS AND UPDATES TO THE CAR. HOWEVER THEY HAVE NO PARTS AT THIS POINT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEMS. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY CORRECTED BUT NO PERMANENT FIX. THERE HAS BEEN A CLUTCH ON ORDER SINCE MARCH 7, 2015 AND THE CONVERTER WAS DIAGNOSED ON MARCH 27, 2015 AND THOSE ARE NOT AVAILABLE EITHER. I DRIVE ABOUT 600 MILES A WEEK AND REALLY NEED A DEPENDABLE CAR. WHEN I GO TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC THE TRANSMISSION BOGS DOWN SO I HAVE TO GIVE MYSELF AMPLE TIME TO GET OUT. I PURCHASED THIS CAR WITH THE EXPECTATIONS THAT IT WOULD GIVE ME A LONG REPAIR FREE LIFE. I DID PURCHASE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT AT THE RATE IT'S GOING THE CAR WILL NOT MAKE IT THAT FAR. YOU WOULD THINK THAT FORD WOULD HAVE THE PARTS TO CORRECT THE ISSUES WITH THIS CAR. EITHER FIX IT OR REPLACE IT. FORD IS TRULY LIVING UP TO IT NAME. FIX OR REPAIR DAILY. I EVEN CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE BUT THEY HAVE NEVER CALLED ME BACK EITHER. MY DEALER HAS NO INFO EITHER. I ALMOST DIED IN THIS CAR TODAY. I RENTED IT FOR MY TRIP IN MAUI. IT WAS PRACTICALLY NEW WITH ONLY 10,000 MILES ON IT, SO THERE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ANYTHING WRONG, EVEN IF THE PEOPLE THAT RENTED IT BEFORE ME DROVE IT HORRIBLY. TODAY I DROVE IT INTO THE HILLS (UPCOUNTRY MAUI). I WAS ON A ROAD WITH A CLIFF ON THE LEFT SIDE AND A DRIVEWAY ON THE RIGHT. I PULLED INTO THE DRIVEWAY, WHICH WAS A HILL GOING UP, AND EVERYTHING WAS INITIALLY FINE, THE CAR WAS GOING UP THE HILL JUST FINE, BUT A LITTLE OVER HALFWAY UP THE HILL THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING/MOVING. I WAS PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR BUT IT HAD NO RPMS AND THE CAR BEGAN ROLLING BACKWARDS. SUDDENLY, THE TRANSMISSION (?) KICKED IN AND THE CAR LURCHED FORWARD AT 20MPH. THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE TO CONTROL IT AND MAKE IT TO THE TOP OF THE HILL, WHERE THERE WAS A PARKING LOT. HAD THE TRANSMISSION NOT KICKED IN AT THAT SECOND, THE CAR WOULD HAVE ROLLED ALL THE WAY BACK DOWN THE DRIVEWAY AND OFF THE CLIFF. THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO WAY THAT I WAS PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL OR NOT PRESSING THE GAS. I WAS GOING UP A HILL AND OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T WANT TO ROLL BACK, SO OF COURSE I WOULD HAVE MY FOOT PRESSED DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR. THIS IS FURTHER EXHIBITED BY THE FACT THAT THE CAR SUDDENLY LURCHED FORWARD AFTER A FEW SECONDS OF NOT MOVING, SO I DEFINITELY HAD MY FOOT ON THE ACCELERATOR THE WHOLE TIME. I HAVE READ ONLINE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE ISSUES WITH THE CAR NOT ACCELERATING/MOVING WHILE PRESSING ON THE GAS, SO THIS IS NOT AN ISOLATED ISSUE. BOTH TIMES, THE SERVICE ADVISOR AND THE SERVICE MANAGER INFORMED ME THAT THE VEHICLE IS PERFORMING AS IT SHOULD AND THERE ARE NO PROBLEMS. I CAN'T RELY ON THE VEHICLE TO ACCELERATE AS IT SHOULD. I PURCHASED A 2013 FORD FIESTA IN JULY OF 2013. THE FIRST TWO WEEKS I WAS DRIVING IT, I NOTICED JERKING, LUNGING, AND SHUTTERING WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE FROM LOW SPEEDS OR FROM A STOPPED POSITION. SOON THEREAFTER, A METAL NOISE STARTED FROM THE ENGINE AREA. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID I HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE "CLUTCH" IN THE TRANSMISSION AND IT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. IT TOOK A WHILE (11 DAYS) TO GET THE PART IN, BUT THE WORK WAS DONE. SEVERAL WEEKS LATER THE PROBLEM STARTED AGAIN. I DROVE THE CAR AS IT WAS BECAUSE I NEEDED IT FOR MY BUSY JOB. WHEN I TRANSFERRED TO HOUSTON IN THE FALL OF 2014, I HAD IT SERVICED AGAIN AT THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP BECAUSE THE PROBLEM WAS GETTING WORSE. THEY HAD MY CAR FOR 3 DAYS AND ALL THEY SAID WAS IT "NEEDED AN UPDATE." UPDATE OR NOT, THE PROBLEM WAS AND IS STILL THERE. THE LUNGING, AND MIS-SHIFTS HAVE NEVER BEEN WORSE. I PUT UP WITH IT UNTIL THIS WEEK WHEN I ACCELERATED IN HOUSTON TRAFFIC AND MY FIESTA WOULD NOT GO. I COULD HAVE CAUSED A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT AND INJURY TO MYSELF AND OTHERS DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE SHUTTERING IS SO BAD THAT IT SEEMS AS IF THE CAR'S BACK BRAKES ARE LOCKED UP AND THE CAR IS DRAGGING ITS BACK END. I HAVE A NEW APPOINTMENT ON 6/29/15 WITH THE SAME DEALERSHIP THAT DID THE "UPDATE." THIS WILL BE THE THIRD TIME I HAVE HAD A DEALERSHIP ATTEMPT TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.

NOW AT 19000 MILE IT IS DOING THE SAME THING. TOOK BACK TO SAME DEALER. THEY SAID FORD NOW HAS A "SHUDDER TEST" AND IF IT IS UNDER 250, NO REPAIRS. IT CONTINUES TO WORSEN. FIRST TIME IT ALMOST COMPLETELY DIED ON ME GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY, THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT GUNNED IT AND TOOK OFF. ABOUT 3 MILES DOWN THE HIGH WAY ENGINE LIGHTS AND SERVICE LIGHTS CAME ON. THE NEXT DAY I WAS PULLING OUT OF WENDY'S AND GIVE IT SOME GAS AND NOTHING HAPPENED. I ROLLED THEN ALL OF THE SUDDEN IT GUNNED IT AGAIN. I ALMOST GOT HIT. GOT IT HOME AND PARTED IT. TOOK IT IN THE NEXT DAY AND THEY CHANGED THE THROTTLE BODY ON IT. IT STILL HESITATES AS YOU GO DOWN THE HIGHWAY. HAS VERY LITTLE TAKE OFF AND MERGING POWER. THE ONLY THING I AM GLAD I DID WHEN I BOUGHT THIS CAR WAS I GOT A STRAIGHT DRIVE. IT WOULD HAVE NO POWER IF IT WAS AN AUTOMATIC. *TR

I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER SHORTLY AFTER AND THE SERVICE GUY TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE WITH ME PRESENT TO DETERMINE IF IT WAS A QUICK FIX OR NORMAL FOR THE CAR. HE HEARD THE NOISE AND WROTE A TICKET FOR REPAIR. NEXT DAY THEY CALLED ME AND SAID IT WAS NORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION. *TR

GREEN FORD IN NORTH CAROLINA HAS SERVICED THIS VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES AS WELL AS 3 TIMES I HAVE HAD IT IN FOR REPAIR AND IT IS STILL NOT REPAIRED. WITHIN A FEW WEEKS OF PURCHASE, THE SHUDDERING FROM A STOPPED START INCREASED IN MAGNITUDE (I UNDERSTAND THE TRANSMISSION IS SUPPOSED TO ACT LIKE A MANUAL BUT THIS WAS TOO SEVERE) AND ON OCCASION AFTER SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE THERE WAS NO ENGAGEMENT IN THE TRANSMISSION, STEPPING ON ACCELERATOR ONLY REVVED THE ENGINE, NO MOVEMENT. TOOK THE CAR BACK IN, THEY STATE THAT IS NORMAL OPERATION, THE COMPUTER HAS TO GET USED TO YOUR DRIVING. HERE WE ARE ONE YEAR LATER, IT IS NO BETTER AND NOW HAS A TRANSMISSION LEAK. TOOK BACK IN FOR THAT AND THE SERVICE GUY SAYS, OH YEAH WE ARE BOOKED WAY OUT TO AUG 17 (IT WAS JULY 24TH) ON FIXES FOR THAT AND HE MENTIONED IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE. SEEMS IT HAS BEEN KNOWN SINCE 2011 YET THE SALES GUYS NEVER MENTIONED IT. EVIDENTLY MINE IS SEVERE ENOUGH THAT THEY GOT ME SCHEDULED FOR AUG 7. THEY SAID THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID MAY HAVE GOTTEN INTO THE DRY CLUTCH AND ALL WOULD LIKELY HAVE TO BE REPLACED. JUNE 2013, FORD FIESTA 2013 (BOUGHT NEW OCT 2012) BEGAN TO SHUDDER UPON TAKEOFF FROM A STOP AND ALSO WHEN SHIFTING BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP ON JULY 18, 2013; THEY PERFORMED A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND SAID (AT THAT TIME) IF THAT DIDN'T WORK THE CLUTCH WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. TOOK CAR BACK ON SEPTEMBER 4, 2013. TOOK MECHANIC OUT BUT TRAFFIC WAS HEAVY AND I COULDN'T REPRODUCE THE EXACT ISSUE. HOWEVER, PROBLEMS LISTED ABOVE STILL PERSIST, AND AN ADDITIONAL ISSUE OF POWER LOSS WHEN TURNING THE CORNER AT SPEEDS OF 10 MPH OR LESS HAS DEVELOPED. *TR
SLUGGISH ACCELERATION, SPUTTERING, HARD SHIFTING UPON ACCELERATING FROM STOP (LOWER GEARS). DAY AFTER PURCHASE OF VEHICLE RETURNED TO DEALERSHIP AND/OR SERVICE DEPT. SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE - SPOKE TO SALES WHO ADVISED THIS IS NORMAL DUE TO TYPE OF CLUTCH SYSTEM. WAS ADVISED NO SERVICE COULD/WOULD BE ATTEMPTED. DEALER SUGGESTED ALTERING STYLE OF DRIVING... PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED AND I HAVE TAKEN VEHICLE IN SEVERAL TIMES, EACH TIME BEING TOLD THE SAME THING (WITH NO DIAG OR WRITE UP BEING DONE). ON 11/24/14 WHILE TRAVELING OVER 350 MILES IN OPEN DESERT, PROBLEM ESCALATED TO ALL GEARS AND VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE OR DECELERATE PROPERLY WITHOUT LURCHING, JERKING, SHUDDERING, ETC. TOOK TO SERVICE AT DEALERSHIP OUT OF HOME STATE AND WAS ADVISED, PRIOR TO INSPECTION, CLUTCH WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED AS SAME YEAR, MAKE, AND MODEL COMING IN DAILY. CONFIRMED WITH INSPECTION CLUTCH WAS FAULTY. PARTS ON BACKORDER AT LEAST 3 WEEKS AND WOULD NOT ORDER ON MY BEHALF AS WOULD NOT BE IN THAT LOCATION TO HAVE WORK DONE THERE. CONTACTED PURCHASE DEALERSHIP AND CONFIRMED BACKORDER. REQUESTED PARTS BE ORDERED BUT WAS ADVISED THEY WOULD NOT ORDER UNTIL VEH INSPECTED BY THEM (2 WEEKS OUT AS OUT OF STATE) AND THEN 3 WEEKS AT LEAST FOR PARTS. I CONSIDER THIS A SAFETY ISSUE AS LURCHING, JERKING, ETC CAUSES VEH TO BECOME UNMANAGEABLE AS WELL AS EFFECTING ACCELERATION AND STOPPING TIMES. *JS
PURCHASED THE CAR BRAND NEW DROVE IT HOME ABOUT 65 MILES. WIFE DROVE IT ANOTHER 150 ROUND TRIP OUT OF TOWN. WE NOTICED A SHUTTERING FROM A STOP AND WHEN SHIFTING. WE WERE GOING TO TAKE IT IN FOR SERVICE BUT DIDN'T HAVE TIME TO CALL THEM. ONLY HAVE HAD THE CAR 6 DAYS. THEN WE ARE DRIVING AND HEAR A GRINDING/CRACKLING NOISE FROM THE LEFT SIDE SOUNDS AND FELLS AS THOUGH THE CV AXLE IS GOING TO BREAK OR SOMETHING. CALL ROAD SIDE ASSISTANCE AND THEY TOW IT IN. WAITING UNTIL THE AM TO SEE WHAT THEY SAY. THERE IS REALLY SOMETHING WRONG HERE. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING AT THE TIME THE NOISE AND VIBRATION ALMOST CAUSED US TO WRECK DUE TO IT SCARING HER WHEN IT STARTED IT. THE CAR IS JERKING BETWEEN 0 AND 15 MILES AN HOUR. THE JERKING HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE OVER THE LAST YEAR. ON YESTERDAY 05/03/2014, THE JERKING IS EVEN WORSE. THE DEALERSHIP (TROPICAL FORD OF ORLANDO) HAS INFORMED US THAT FORD MOTORS SAID THIS IS NORMAL AND THEN PROVIDED A ONE PAGE DOCUMENT FOR THE ISSUE. I WAS DRIVING ON A STREET IN MY FIESTA AND WAS AT A STOP. WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS TO GO AGAIN THE VEHICLE JERKED FORWARD MORE QUICKER THEN USUAL AND BUMPED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I PURCHASED MY 2013 FORD FIESTA 3 WEEKS AGO WITH 37 MILES ON IT. MY FIRST INCIDENT HAPPEND AT APPROXIMATELY 620 MILES WHERE THE CAR STARTED HESITATING WHEN I WOULD ATTEMPT TO ACCELERATE TO PASS A CAR ON THE HIGHWAY AND OCCASIONALLY WHEN PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOPPED POINT. THE CAR NOW, WITH 750 MILES SPUTTERS AND JERKS AND LUNGES, AS IT SEEMS HAS BEEN A VERY COMMON PROBLEM FOR THESE CARS FOR A FEW YEARS NOW. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP LAST SATURDAY AFTER IT HAPPEND A FEW TIMES. THEY TOLD ME THERE MAY BE A LEAK IN THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH, BUT ULTIMATELY CAME BACK SAYING THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED AN "UPDATE" AND THEY PROCESSED THAT. I PICKED THE CAR UP. ON THE WAY HOME, IT WAS MUCH WORSE. IT JERKS ALMOST EVERYTIME I PULL AWAY FROM A RED LIGHT/STOPPED POSITION. IT IS ONCE AGAIN AT THE DEALER. I SPOKE WITH THE DEALER SERVICE MANAGER. HE TELLS ME THIS PROBLEM IS MORE COMMON WITH THE FORD FOCUS AND THAT HE REALLY FEELS MY TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE "WORN IN" UNTIL 1500 MILES AND THAT THEY WILL LOOK AT IT, BUT LIKELY NOT DO ANYTHING...THAT I BASICALLY NEED TO DRIVE THE CAR AND DEAL WITH IT. I AM EXTREMELY CONCERNED FOR SAFETY REASONS TO DRIVE THIS CAR. I FEEL THAT I JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR, IT SHOULD NOT HAVE PROBLEMS LIKE THIS.
