I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY GOING 60 MPH. THEN OUT OF NOWHERE THE CAR SHIFTS DOWN A GEAR AND IT JUST SITS LIKE THAT AND DOESN'T SHIFT BACK UP SO I HAVE TO DO IT MANUALLY. ALSO WHEN I WAS GETTING UP TO 60 MPH. THE CAR THEN WOULDN'T SHIFT IN 6TH GEAR LIKE IT WAS JUST STUCK. THIS TOOK ME 5-10 MINUTES TO FINALLY GET IT TO SHIFT PROPERLY. *TR
MY CAR DOES NOT ALWAYS GO WHEN THE GAS IS HIT. WHEN YOU GO TO PULL OUT WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, THE CAR ACTS LIKE IT IS STALLING OUT, SHAKES, MAKES GRINDING NOISE IN THE ENGINE. HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR THE ISSUES. I'VE HAD THE DUAL CLUTCH REPLACED AND MODULE REPROGRAMMED A FEW TIMES. I WAS TOLD NUMEROUS TIMES BY THE FORD TECH, THAT THE SHUTTERING IS NORMAL FOR THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. THIS IS NOT NORMAL. I HAD OTHER PEOPLE DRIVE MY CAR AND THEY ALSO AGREE THAT IT SHOULDN'T DRIVE HOW IT DOES. I HAVE TO AVOID STEEP HILLS BECAUSE THE ACCELERATION DOESN'T ALWAYS WORK.
VEHICLE HAS A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION, IT CONTINUES TO HAVE ERRATICALLY ISSUES WHILE SHIFTING GEARS OR WHEN GETTING READY TO TAKE OFF CAUSING TO HAVE DIFFICULT DRIVING AND THERE ARE TIMES WHEN THE CAR WILL NOT CHANGE GEARS FAST ENOUGH WHEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. WE HAVE TAKEN THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES TO THE DEALER AND SOFTWARE UPDATES HAVE BEEN MADE OR MODULE INTERFACE HAS BEEN UPDATED. WE HAVE RECORDS ON MAINTENANCE PERFORMED ON THIS CAR. WE BELIEVE THAT THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. PLEASE HELP.
THE CAR SHUTTERS AND LOSES POWER WHEN ACCELERATING AT TAKE OFF OR LOW SPEED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FAILED TO LATCH WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DOOR LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V246000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,000.
NO WAY TO KNOW WHETHER OR NOT YOU HAVE TURNED CRUISE CONTROL ON. *TR
IN JULY 2014, I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP ACROSS TRAFFIC IN A 25-MILE-AN-HOUR ZONE AND COULD NOT. THE VEHICLE STARTED THE PROCESS OF ACCELERATION, MOVING ME INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC, AND THEN HESITATED WHILE I WAS IN THE CROSS HAIRS OF ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS HESITATION CONTINUED EVEN THOUGH I FULLY DEPRESSED THE ACCELERATOR IN AN ATTEMPT TO GET THE VEHICLE TO RESPOND. IN SHORT, I SLAMMED THE ACCELERATOR TO THE FLOOR AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT RESPOND. I AVOIDED AN ACCIDENT ONLY BECAUSE THE ONCOMING DRIVER TOOK EVASIVE ACTION.
WHEN WE BOUGHT THE VEHICLE THEY SAID THERE WOULD BE SOME ABNORMAL NOISES IN THE TRANSMISSION DURING BREAK IN (1000 MILES) AND IT SHOULD GO AWAY. THE NOISES DIDN'T START UNTIL AROUND 4500 MILES. ON JULY 4, 2014 WE TOOK A 600 MILE ROUND TRIP (MILEAGE AT THIS TIME IS 7200). AT APPROXIMATELY HALF WAY THROUGH THIS TRIP WE START SMELLING BURNT OIL. THE VEHICLE THEN STARTED TO SHUDDER AND SHACK WHILE ACCELERATING FROM FIRST TO SECOND AND SECOND TO THIRD GEARS AND DIDN'T STOP. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPROGRAMMED THE SOFTWARE AND SAID SOME SLIPPING IS NORMAL OPERATION FOR THIS TRANSMISSION. THIS WORKED FOR THREE DAYS THEN IT WENT BACK TO SHUDDERING AND SHAKING BUT WORSE THAN BEFORE. 2 DAYS LATER WE ALMOST GOT HIT WHILE TRYING TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT SHIFT AND POWER WASN'T THERE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE ENGINE RPMS INCREASED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
CAR DOES NOT SHIFT REGULARLY. SHAKES AND SHUDDERS. LOSS OF POWER WHEN SPEEDING UP. ACCELERATES WHEN TRYING TO SLOW DOWN (AS IN COMMUTER TRAFFIC SITUATIONS). SEVERE GAS USAGE. GETTING 17 MPG CITY, 24.7 MPG HWY.
MY 2014 FORD FIESTA HAS A MANUEL CLUTCH THAT HAS MALFUNCTIONED SINCE I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW IN SEPTEMBER, 2013. THE PROBLEM BEGAN WHEN THERE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THE CAR WOULD SOMETIMES STALL OUT AND OTHER TIMES IT WOULD NOT PROPERLY GO INTO GEAR. I WOULD HAVE TO SHUT DOWN THE ENGINE TO GET IT INTO GEAR. I CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY INFORMED ME TO BRING THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG. THE CLUTCH HAS CONTINUED TO MALFUNCTION OCCASIONALLY UP UNTIL THE LAST 6 MONTHS. NOW IT HAS BECOME DANGEROUS. THE CAR WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR PROPERLY MOST OF THE TIME. WHILE RUNNING, THE CLUTCH WILL KEEP PULLING EVEN THOUGH IT IS PUSHED ALL THE WAY DOWN TO THE FLOOR OF THE CAR. I WAS IN A LINE OF TRAFFIC AND ALMOST HIT THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE IT KEPT PULLING. I HAD TO SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTART IT TO STOP THE PULLING. THERE ARE NO WARNINGS OF ANY KIND PRIOR TO THE FAILURE OR DURING THE FAILURE. THIS IS PUTTING MY LIFE AND OTHERS AT RISK. I ONLY HAVE 94,000 MILES ON IT AND IT IS TOO DANGEROUS TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE. THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM BY FORD. IT IS AVAILABLE FOR INSPECTION. I HAVE NOT HAD IT REPAIRED AS OF NOW.
CAR JERKS AND SHAKES VERY HARD AT LOW AND HIGH SPEEDS. TAKES OFF BY ITSELF WITH A FAST JERK AND ROLLS BACKWARDS WHEN AT A COMPLETE STOP. CAR ACTUALLY HAS LOST POWER WHILE TRY TO ACCELERATE ONTO A MAJOR HIGH WAY.I WAS ALMOST HIT BY A TRACTOR TRAILER DUE TO THIS ISSUE. I'M VERY SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR AND VERY MUCH REGRET MY VERY FIRST PURCHASE OF A BRAND NEW CAR. *TR
THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS FORD FIESTA WAS DEFECTIVE FROM THE DAY IT WAS BUILT. FORD HAS BEEN SUED AND MUST TAKE CARE OF THE BILLIONS OF CUSTOMERS WHO BOUGHT THESE VEHICLES. THE ENGINE IS NOT EQUIPT TO HANDLE THIS TRANSMISSION AND EVENTUALLY BLOWS THE ENGINE, BEFORE ALL THAT HAPPENS THE TRANSMISSION STALLS, AND LEAVES YOU ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I HAVE BEEN TREATED HORRIBLY BY THE DEALER WHO SOLD ME THE CAR. THEY KNOW THIS IS A LEMON AND YET THEY CONTINUED TO SELL THIS CAR. LOOK AT THE VARGAS VS FORD TRANSMISSION CASE
I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2014 FORD FIESTA FEBRUARY 14TH, 2014. GREAT CAR, GREAT MPG, ECT... I STARTED HAVING A JERKING MOTION WHENEVER I ACCELERATED ABOUT 3 MONTHS INTO OWNING MY CAR. I'VE BROUGHT MY CAR IN TO GET THE TRANSMISSION MODULE AND CLUTCH FIXED 4 TIMES ALREADY AND HAVE GOTTEN NOWHERE. PENSKE FORD KEPT TELLING ME IT WAS "WITHIN FACTORY LIMITS" AND THE CLUTCH WAS BACKORDERED AND THAT I "DIDN'T NEED IT ANYMORE". I RETURN MY CAR TO SERVICE ABOUT A MONTH AGO TO BE TOLD THAT I REALLY NEED A CLUTCH AND HAVE FOR SOME TIME! AGAIN, CLUTCH IS BACKORDERED WITH NO ETA. MY CAR NOW IS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE AT ALL WHEN I AM MERGING INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC AND IT IS NOW A SAFETY CONCERN. FORD REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR VEHICLE THAT I AM PAYING MONTHLY ON. AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED THEY'VE LOST A CUSTOMER AND WILL BE CONFRONTED WITH MANY LAW SUITS ON THIS ISSUE. I FEEL THAT ANYONE WITH THIS YEAR MAKE AND MODEL FEEL THE SAME WAY. WHEN I TRY TO ACCELERATE WHEN GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY TO GO HOME FROM WORK IT WILL NOT LET ME AND TRY TO STALL AND IT WILL TAKE IT QUITE A BIT OF TIME TO FINALLY LET ME PUSH ON THE GAS AND GET GOING AGAIN. IT HAS DONE THIS A COUPLE OF TIMES NOW AND A COUPLE OF TIMES WHEN LEAVING AN INTERSECTION AFTER STOPPING AT EITHER A STOP SIGN OR A STOP LIGHT. *TR
THE 2014 FORD FIESTA HAS A VERY SLUGGISH SHIFT BETWEEN THE FIRST AND SECOND GEARS AND THE UPSHIFT BOGS DOWN AS IF THE VEHICLE MIGHT STALL. THE TRANSMISSION DEFECT INCLUDES BUCKING, KICKING, JERKING, HARSH ENGAGEMENT, AND DELAYED ACCELERATION AND LURCHING. I HAD AN INCIDENT WHEN CHANGING LANES AT SLOW SPEEDS WHEN THE TRANSMISSION OF MY VEHICLE JERKED AND WHILE THE OTHER DRIVER WAS ALSO PARTIALLY AT FAULT, THE FAULTY TRANSMISSION ALSO CONTRIBUTED TO A MINOR FENDER BENDER.
MY DAUGHTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE, RAN OFF ROAD. OVER CORRECTED. VEHICLE OVER TURNED END OVER END SEVERAL TIMES LANDING ON SIDE. SHE HAD TO BE REMOVED THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD. NOT ONE AIR BAG DEPLOYED. SHE HAS A BADLY BROKEN LEFT ARM REQUIRING SURGERY TO REPAIR. SHE SUFFERED MULTIPLE CONTUSIONS AND A CONCUSSION. THE VEHICLE IS A TOTAL LOSS. *TR
VEHICLE POWER STEERING SHUTS OFF DURING LOW SPEED (15MPH) RIGHT HAND TURN. TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT ILLUMINATES AT THE SAME TIME. RECYCLING IGNITION RESETS STEERING AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT. VEHICLE IS BRAND NEW WITH ONLY 40 MILES. HAVE EXPERIENCED TWO INCIDENTS WITHIN LAST 10 MILES. *TR

THE VEHICLE HESITATES TO ACCELERATE AS WELL AS ACCELERATES ON ITS OWN
MY WIFE AND I PURCHASED THE CAR NEW FROM OUR LOCAL DEALERSHIP. AFTER OWNING THE CAR FOR ABOUT A WEEK I NOTICED THAT THE EXHAUST TAIL PIPE DOES NOT EXTEND OUT TO THE OUTER BODY LINE. MATTER OF FACT THE TAIL PIPE IS LOCATED OVER 20 INCHES INSIDE THE OUTER BODY LINE. COULDN'T EXHAUST GASES LEAK INTO THE TRUNK AND PASSENGER CABIN WHEN THE VEHICLE IS NOT MOVING. I AM MORE CONCERNED IN THE WINTER TIME WHEN THE VEHICLE IDLES MORE AND THE WARMER EXHAUST GASES RISE BECAUSE OF TEMPERATURE. I WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP TO SEE IF THE OTHER FORD FIESTA HAD THE SAME EXHAUST LOCATION, AND IT DID. I ALSO NOTICED THAT THE OTHER FORD MODELS EXHAUST TAIL PIPES DO EXIT TO THE OUTER BODY LINE. THIS CAR IS VERY DANGEROUS TO OWN AND DRIVE. THE TCM TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE .IS ALWAYS FAILING. IT HAS WENT OUT MANY TIME AND I HAVE ALMOST DIED SEVERAL TIMES OVER.IT HAS DESTROYED THE CLUTCHES MANY TIMES AS WELL. TRANSMISSION SHAKES AND SHUDDERS WHEN CHANGING GEAR. WHEN GOING HOME I HAVE TO GO UP A HILL AND MAKE A TURN TO GO UP ANOTHER HILL. WHEN I SLOW DOWN TO TURN AND GO UP THE NEXT HILL THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS. IF I SLOW DOWN IN TRAFFIC AND RESTART WHILE ROLLING I GET THE SHUDDER. SEVERAL TIMES WHEN AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT I HAVE STARTED TO GO AND THE CAR IN FRONT STOPS SUDDENLY I HIT MY BRAKES AND THE CAR ALMOST STALES AND THEN WHEN I DO GO I GET THE SHUDDER. SOMETIMES I THINK THE DRIVE SHAFT IS GOING TO DROP. *TR
FOLLOWING A LINE OF CARS DOWN A CANYON ROAD AT 50 MPH. SPORT MODE STEERING TURNED OFF. CAR DRIFTED TO RIGHT SIDE OF ROAD. TURNED WHEEL SLIGHTLY TO THE LEFT, BUT CAR KEPT DRIFTING RIGHT. RIGHT SIDE WHEELS THEN WERE ON GRAVEL SHOULDER. TURNED STEERING WHEEL TO THE LEFT AGAIN. CAR TURNED 30 DEGREES TO THE RIGHT AND WENT AIRBORN OFF THE ROAD AND DOWN INTO THE CANYON, LANDING FLAT ON A PILE OF BOULDERS, BOUNCED OFF AND BECAME AIRBORN AGAIN, FINALLY STOPPING IN A TANGLE OF THICK BRUSH. UNDERSIDE OF CAR TOTALLY SMASHED. CAR WAS A TOTAL WREAK. DON'T KNOW WHY THIS HAPPENED. FELT LIKE STEERING LINKAGE SUDDENLY DISCONNECTED. *TR
2014 FORD FIESTA SE WITH ABOUT 15,000 MILES STARTED HAVING SHUTTERING PROBLEMS THAT ARE EXTREMELY VIOLENT AND COULD CAUSE LOSS OF CONTROL AND IS THOUGHT TO BE A SAFETY CONCERN TO DRIVER AND OTHERS ON ROAD. I HAVE OWNS THIS CAR SINCE BRAND NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE POWERTRAIN AROUND 14000 MILES. THE PROBLEM IS A SEVERE SHUTTER PROBLEM WHEN YOU ACCELERATE. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THIS PROBLEM WHEN IT IS HAPPENING IS TO LET THE GAS PEDAL OUT OF GIVE IT A LOT MORE GAS. THIS CAN HAPPEN AT ANY SPEED FROM 5 MPH TO 50 MPH THAT I HAVE EXPERIENCED IT. THE SHUTTER JERKS THE DRIVER FORWARD AND BACKWARD VERY FORCEFULLY. I TOOK THE CAR IN UNDER WARRANTY AND WAS TOLD THAT THE THIS IS NORMAL AND SENT BACK HOME. AT 15000 MILES I TOOK THE CAR IN AND THEY SAID THE DUAL CLUTCH SEAL WAS LEAKING AND THEREFORE RUINED THE CLUTCH. THEY REPLACED ALL PARTS AND CALLED TO SAY IT WAS COMPLETE. THEY LEFT VOICEMAIL, AND WHEN I CALLED DEALERSHIP BACK THEY SAID THE NEW PARTS HAD BROKE WHILE ON THE TEST DRIVE AND THEY HAD TO ORDER EXACT PARTS AGAIN. DEALERSHIP TOOK ANOTHER FEW DAYS TO FIX AND THEN I RECEIVED THE CAR. NOW FEB 2015 CAR IS DOING EXACT SAME THING AND HAS 24000 MILES ON. THE SHUTTERING IS A SAFETY CONCERN AS IT COULD RESULT IN MY WIFE OR I LOOSING CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE WHEN IT DOES THIS AT HIGH SPEED. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS DOES NOT CAUSE A SAFETY VIOLATION? THIS IS A FAIRLY REGULAR PROBLEM THAT CAN INCREASE THE PROBABILITY OF AN ACCIDENT...I HAVE HAD TWO VERY CLOSE CALLS DUE TO MY INABILITY TO ACCELERATE THROUGH A LEFT HAND TURN AT AN INTERSECTION. I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A "COMMON" ISSUE WITH THIS 6 SPEED, DUAL CLUTCH, AUTO TRANNY. UNACCEPTABLE.

THE VEHICLE HESITATES, GRINDS AND JUMPS WHENEVER YOU PRESS ON THE GAS TO ACCELERATE. SOMETIMES THE CAR WILL JUMP AND JUST SLOW DOWN EVEN IF MY FOOT IS ALL THE WAY TO THE GROUND WITH THE PEDAL. THE TRANSMISSION IS THE ISSUE SINCE I HAVE TAKEN IT TO FORD NUMEROUS TIMES AND EVERY TIME THE TELL ME THE "GRINDING, JUMPING, HESITATION IS NORMAL FOR AN AUTOMATIC/MANUAL TRANSMISSION". APPARENTLY THIS IS NEW FOR FORD AS THEY HAVE WHAT THEY CALL AN AUTOMATIC/MANUAL TRANSMISSION. MEANING THE CAR DRIVES LIKE IT WOULD BE A STICK SHIFT BUT AUTOMATICALLY DOES IT. IT IS UNSAFE! SOMETIMES THE JERKING IS SO BAD MY HEAD WILL JERK!! I FEEL LIKE I WAS RIPPED OFF WITH THIS CAR AND AM SO MAD THAT I MADE THIS PURCHASE! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HARD EDGE ON THE TRIM OF THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD CONSTANTLY CUT THE CONTACT'S HAND. ALSO, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VIBRATE AND A BUZZING NOISE EMITTED FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SHIFT WHEN IN REVERSE, THE VEHICLE WOULD GRIND AND INDEPENDENTLY SHIFT IN TO NEUTRAL. A FORD ENGINEER WAS CONTACTED TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF ALL THESE FAILURES. HOWEVER, ALL FAILURES EXCEPT THE TRACTION CONTROL AND HILL ASSIST LIGHT WERE NOT RECTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,420.

CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND HAVE BROUGHT IT IN 3 TIMES WITH NO ONE AT THE DEALERSHIP BEING ABLE TO "RECREATE" THE PROBLEM AND THEREFORE THEY COULDN'T FIX IT. THEY ALSO SAID THAT BECAUSE OF THE TYPE OF TRANSMISSION, THE PROBLEMS I WAS DESCRIBING ARE TO BE EXPECTED. HOW COULD A COMPANY RELEASE A TRANSMISSION THAT IS "SUPPOSED" TO BUCK AND SHUDDER? PROBLEM HAS CONTINUED TO GET WORSE AND I HAVE NOW EXPERIENCED SEVERAL INCIDENTS THAT I FEEL ARE VERY DANGEROUS. ONE OCCURS WHEN I APPROACH A STOP AND I AM APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE CAR WILL REV UP AND ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN, ALMOST CAUSING ME TO GO INTO TRAFFIC. LAST YEAR, I RECEIVED NOTICE OF LAWSUIT FILED IN CALIFORNIA AS TO THE DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION AND WAS TOLD THAT I COULD SETTLE WITH A DISPUTE RESOLUTION SPECIALIST WHICH DENIED ME THE REPURCHASE/REPLACEMENT BECAUSE I HAVE A 5 YEAR WARRANTY. THE TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE AND CANNOT BE FIXED, IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE WARRANTY IS 5 YEARS OR MORE. THE TRADE-IN VALUE OF THIS CAR IS SO LOW, I CANNOT AFFORD TO PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE. LIKES TO ACCELERATE WHEN HAVE BRAKE PRESSED, HAVE ALMOST REAR-ENDED CARS IN FRONT BECAUSE OF IT'S LURCHING FORWARD. WHEN USING SPORT MODE, CAR WOULD NOT HAVE ANY MORE POWER, BUT ENGINE WOULD REDLINE. STRONG BURNING SMELL ALSO. ONCE CAR FINALLY GOT MOVING, IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET IT TO SLOW DOWN. YOU CAN PUSH BRAKE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR BUT CAR IS STILL GOING - AND FIGHTING YOU TO KEEP GOING. DEALER UPGRADED SOFTWARE - WHICH SEEMED TO HELP FOR THE FIRST FEW DAYS - AND TOLD US NOT TO USE THE SPORT MODE ANYMORE, WHICH WE DO NOT. DEALER STATED ALL COMPLAINTS WERE NOT ISSUES, THAT IS HOW THE CAR WORKS DUE TO THE TYPE OF ENGINE IT HAS IN IT. FIRST TIME FORD BUYER, FIRST BRAND NEW CAR IN A VERY, VERY LONG TIME. CAR IS DRIVEN TO AND FROM WORK 56 MILES EVERYDAY, PLUS LEISURE. FEEL VERY INSECURE DRIVING CAR. I'VE BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO FORD DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENTS SEVERAL TIMES NOW FOR THE SAME TRANSMISSION SHUDDERING AND SLIPPING ISSUE. WHEN TAKING DELIVERY OF THE VEHICLE, AND ON EVERY SUBSEQUENT VISIT TO A SERVICE DEPARTMENT, I WAS WARNED THAT THE POWERSHIFT 6-SPEED AUTOMATED MANUAL TRANSMISSION REQUIRES A "BREAK-IN" PERIOD OF SEVERAL THOUSAND MILES AND THAT I MAY NOTICE HARSH SHIFTING OR NOISES. IN REALITY, THE TRANSMISSION HASN'T EVER FUNCTIONED CORRECTLY, AND ON EACH DEALERSHIP TRIP, A LETS-TRY-THE-NEXT-STEP APPROACH IS TAKEN. FIRST A ENGINE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP WAS CLEARED FOR A KNOWN FIRMWARE BUG IN THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE (TCM), FOR A PROBLEM WHOSE FIX WAS NOT YET RELEASED BY FORD. NEXT, THE TCM WAS UPDATED. DRIVEABILITY IMPROVED FOR A WHILE BUT THEN DEGRADED AGAIN, GETTING WORSE DAY BY DAY. NEXT, THE TCM COULDN'T BE UPDATED (IT WAS ALREADY UP TO DATE) SO A NEW CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WAS ORDERED. FINALLY, THE CLUTCH ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED, BUT NOT THE TRANSMISSION INTAKE SEALS BECAUSE THEY WERE BROWN (LATEST SPEC?). IT HAS ONLY BEEN A FEW DAYS SINCE THE MOST RECENT REPAIR (CLUTCH REPLACEMENT) BUT THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED THAT THE NEW CLUTCHES WILL EVENTUALLY FAIL IN EXACTLY THE SAME WAY AS FORD HAS NOT YET CORRECTED THE UNDERLYING ISSUE.
