ON FRIDAY JUNE 19TH MY SON AND I WERE EXITING A PARKING LOT OF A SHOPPING CENTER. AS WE WERE MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN. THE DRIVETRAIN IN MY 2016 FORD FIESTA WENT OUT. LEAVING US STUCK IN TRAFFIC AND NEARLY GETTING REAR ENDED. SOME OTHER MOTORIST HELPED US PUSH THE CAR BACK INTO THE SHOPPING CENTER. I CALLED MY FORD DEALERSHIP AND EXPLAINED THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT MY V.I.N. NUMBER WAS NOT PART OF THE 100,000 MILE EXTENDED WARRANTY PROGRAM. BECAUSE IT CAME FROM A DIFFERENT PLANT. I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER CARE, AND WAS TOLD THE SAME THING. NOW, I MAY HAVE TO COME UP WITH $3,500 TO $4,000 TO GET THE TRANSMISSION FIXED. *TR
MY BATTERY WENT DEAD ON 5/26/20, IT WAS UNABLE TO BE JUMPED OFF AT AUTO ZONE. I BOUGHT A NEW BATTERY FOR $108. AFTER INSTALLING MY DASH APPEARED TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION SERVICE NOW, PRIOR TO THIS I HAD NO ISSUES OTHER THAN MY PURGE CONTROL VALVE HAS WENT OUT TWICE. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND HE IMMEDIATELY STATED THE BATTERY DYING CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE TO BURN OUT AND THAT IT IS A COMMON ISSUE. HE SAID MY VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN A RECALL/EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT MY VINTAGE WAS NOT INCLUDED AND HE WASN'T SURE WHY. HE SAID IT WOULD BE A $600 FIX TO REACH OUT TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY ABOUT INCLUDING MY VEHICLE WHICH THEY REFUSED AFTER CALLING TWICE. I WAS AT AUTO ZONE WHEN THIS HAPPENED TO HAVE MY BATTERY TESTED BECAUSE 3 TIMES IN THE LAST MONTH I HAVE HAD TROUBLE STARTING MY CAR. I CALLED JENKINS AND WYNN IN CLARKSVILLE TN AS WELL AS FORD MOTOR COMPANY RECALL CUSTOMER RELATIONS TWICE. *BF*JB
MY TRUNK POPS OPEN ON ITS OWN. AT LEAST 3 TIMES A DAY AT RANDOM. GIVING ACCESS INTO THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENS WHILE I'M DRIVING AND WHILE THE CAR IS STATIONARY. I HAVE WOKEN UP AT 4 AM AND MY TRUNK BE OPEN. I'VE BEEN DRIVING AT 60MPH AND THE TRUNK OPEN. BEEN IN A DRIVE THROUGH AND THE TRUNK OPEN. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS. MY SON SEEN THE TRUNK WAS OPEN AND SHUT IT REPEATEDLY JUST FOR IT TO OPEN EVERY FEW MINUTES. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE AND SIMILAR FORD VEHICLES.
MY VEHICLE IS A 2016 FORD FIESTA ST WITH A SUNROOF. I LIVE IN AN AREA WHERE THERE IS NOT MUCH FLAT LAND TO PARK VEHICLES. MY DRIVEWAY IS GREATER THAN A 20% GRADE. THIS COMPLAINT IS RELATED TO SUNROOF SEAL LEAKS IN ANY MODE OF OPERATION. THE SUNROOF SEAL IS A SINGLE STRIP OF RUBBER WITH A DISCONNECTED SEAM THAT IS ORIENTED AT THE TOP OF THE SUNROOF. AS THE RUBBER AGES, THE RUBBER SHRINKS AND THE SEAM CAN DEVELOP INTO A GAP THAT LETS WATER INSIDE THE SUNROOF DRAINAGE TRAY. IF THE SUNROOF SEAL LEAKS OR FAILS, THE CAR IS DESIGNED TO COLLECT THE WATER AND DRAIN IT TO A LOCATION NEAR THE FRONT WHEEL WELLS. THIS WORKS PERFECTLY AS LONG AS THE CAR IS LEVEL. IF THE CAR IS PARKED AT A 15% GRADE OR STEEPER WITH THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE POINTING UPWARDS, THE SUNROOF SEAL WILL LEAK, BUT THE WATER COLLECTED WILL NOT DRAIN TOWARD THE INTENDED DRAINS. THE WATER WILL INSTEAD FLOW DOWN THE SIDES OF THE ROOFLINE INSIDE PLASTIC TROUGHS. THESE TROUGHS ARE NOT WELL DRAINED TO THE EXTERIOR. THE WATER WILL FLOW THROUGH THE TROUGHS AND EXIT INTO THE INTERIOR OF THE VEHICLE NEAR THE HEAD LINER AND THE REAR PLASTIC TRIM OF THE INTERIOR NEXT TO THE REAR WINDOW. THIS WILL EVENTUALLY FILL UP THE SEALED SPARE TIRE WELL, AND WILL CAUSE CORROSION OVER TIME. THIS CORROSION MAY AFFECT THE CAR'S STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY AND MAY AFFECT THE CAR'S CRASH WORTHINESS IF ALLOWED TO CONTINUE. THE WATER IS ONLY NOTICEABLE IF THE TRUNK SHELF IS REMOVED, WHICH IN MANY VEHICLES WILL NEVER HAPPEN. THE WATER ALSO HAS A TENDENCY TO COLLECT ON THE REAR SEATBELT SPOOL AND THE SPOOL SUPPORT FASTENERS. IF THE WATER IS LEFT ON THE SEATBELT SPOOLS FOR LONG ENOUGH TIME, THE SEATBELTS FOR THE REAR SEATS CAN BE WEAKENED OVER TIME BY CORROSION. THE SEATBELT ISSUE MAY NOT BECOME A SAFETY CONCERN UNTIL SOMETIME IN THE CAR'S FUTURE IN THE SECONDHAND MARKET. BLACK MOLD GROWTH MAY BECOME AN ISSUE AS WELL.
PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW CONTROL DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. BLUETOOTH AUDIO SOMETIMES PAUSES FOR NO REASON. CONDITIONS HAPPEN WHILE DRIVING OR STATIONARY.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE OR SHIFT GEARS IN CORRECT ORDER WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEPRESSED. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DRIVE TO THE RESIDENCE, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE MECHANIC WAS UNABLE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AIRPORT MARINA FORD LOCATED AT (5880 W CENTINELA AVE, LOS ANGELES, CA 90045) WHERE IT WAS ALSO DIAGNOSED WITH A TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT AIRPORT MARINA FORD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000. *DT*JB
WHEN ACCELERATING AFTER STOPPING MY 2016 FIESTA SE SHUDDERS QUITE HARD MOVING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR AND THEN ALSO FROM 2ND TO 3RD. I'VE NOTICED THAT THE LENGTH OF TIME THE CAR SHUDDERS IS INCREASING. THE SHUDDER IS ACCOMPANIED BY A LOUD RATTLING SOUND LIKE IF YOU SHOOK A BUNCH OF SCREWS IN A METAL CONTAINER. SOMETIMES LOSS OF POWER AND HIGH RPM'S OCCUR. I WILL TAKE IT BACK IN AND THIS WILL BE THE 4TH TIME. THE FORD DEALERSHIP TELLS ME THAT THE SHUDDER DOESN'T HARM THE TRANSMISSION. I DON 'T BELIEVE THAT. CAN'T EVEN SELL THE CAR (I TRIED) BECAUSE THIS CAR'S RESALE VALUE IS ZERO. NEXT I'M THINKING OF PURSUING A LEMON LAW RESOLUTION.
TPS LIGHT STAYS ON. AIR LOSE IN FRONT DRIVER TIRE AND BACK DRIVER SIDE TIRE. I HAVE TO PUT AIR IN BOTH TIRES EVERY DAY. ABOUT 15 LBS OF AIR IN THE FRONT DRIVER TIRE AND ABOUT 8 LBS OF AIR IN THE BACK DRIVER SIDE TIRE
TRANSMISSION HESITATES, DOESN'T ALWAYS MOVE FROM GEAR TO GEAR AND OFTEN MAKES STRANGE NOISES
REAR PASSENGER STRUT SNAPPED ON 5 HOUR HIGHWAY DRIVE. WHEN LIFTED AT THE GARAGE IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT WOOD SCREWS WERE USED TO SECURE THE STRUT BRACKETS INSTEAD OF BOLTS. ONE OF THE SCREWS HAD ALREADY FALLEN OUT OF THE STRUT THAT HAD SNAPPED AND ON THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE, ONE OF THE WOOD SCREWS USED WAS LOOSE AND HALF WAY OUT. THE TYPE OF SCREWS USED WERE WRONG BECAUSE THERE WAS NOTHING TO TIGHTEN THEM OR HOLD THEM IN PLACE SECURELY AS A BOLT WITH A NUT WOULD AND THEY TURNED AND LOOSENED AS VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN. 2016 PURCHASED FROM A DEALERSHIP ON 9/7/2019 WITH 30K MILES.
THE TCM LIGHT COMES ON WHEN CAR IS STARTED. WHILE THE CAR IS MOVING IT SEEM TO SLIP OUT OF GEAR. THIS HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING ON A STRAIGHT ROAD OR TURNING OR SLOWING DOWN. THE RPM REVS UP BUT THE CAR IS SLOWING DOWN. THIS HAPPENS WHEN DRIVING 30 MPH OR 50 MPH.
WE TRIED TURNING THE CAR ON. THE LIGHTS STARTED BLINKING RAPIDLY THE. IT SAID THE TRACTION CONTROL WAS OFF. EVEN THOUGH WE DID NOT TURN IT OFF. WE JUMP STARTED THE CAR AND IT WENT ON BUT ONLY FOR THE DASHBOARD TO SAY 'TRANSMISSION MALFUNCTION SERVICE NOW'. WHEN DRIVING ON THE STREET AND FREEWAY TO THE NEXT EXIT. IT FELT AND SOUND LIKE THE ENGINE IS REVVING THE ENTIRE TIME NO MATTER WHAT SPEED. THE RPM IS RUNNING HIGH GOING STRAIGHT PAST 3
THE HORN DOES NOT WORK. I NEVER TESTED THE HORN WHEN I TOOK THE CAR FOR A TEST DRIVE, AND ONLY DISCOVERED THIS FACT 2 WEEKS AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE.. THE DEALER CLAIMS THEY DID A THOROUGH SAFETY CHECK WHICH IS NOT THE CASE. I SIGNED THE 'SOLD AS IS' WAIVER SO I DON'T HAVE MUCH RECOURSE HERE, BUT THE DEALER SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR SELLING A VEHICLE THAT DOES NOT MEET THE BASIC SAFETY STANDARDS.
OVER THE SUMMER 2019, PASSENGER LEFT SIDE DOOR DID NOT LATCH. CHILD LOCK WAS ON. UPON DISCOVERY OF DEFECT, IT WAS TAKEN TO FORD TO REPAIR. ON NOVEMBER 12, 2019, DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR DID NOT WANT TO LATCH. WENT TO CHECK ON THE CAR NEXT DAY, AND THE DOOR LATCHES WITHOUT PROBLEMS MORE THAN ONCE. FILING A COMPLAINT BECAUSE IT HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN THE SAME YEAR WITH DIFFERENT CAR DOORS. WILL TAKE TO FORD AGAIN ON NOVEMBER 15TH TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO ADDITIONAL PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. BOTH TIMES THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS OCCURRED.

The contact has been seeing a chiropractor for 3 years now. The contact did not take the vehicle to a dealer nor was the seat belt repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 51,617.
THE 2016 FORD FIESTA SEATBELT DOES NOT RETRACT PROPERLY AND THE SEATBELT HANG TO THE DRIVER SEAT WHILE THE SEATBELT METAL BUCKLE POINTING UP AND THE DRIVER COULD SAT TO IT AND INJURED THE BACK RIBS OF THE DRIVER JUST LIKE HOW I INJURED MY SELF BECAUSE OF LACK OF WARNINGS FROM OWNERS' MANUAL FROM FORD MOTOR THAT THESE SEATBELT PROBLEM SHOULD HAVE BEEN FORSEABLE BY THE MANUFACTURED TO WARNED THE CONSUMERS.
TRANSMISSION NOISE JUST BEFORE THE #3 SHIFT RATHER IT UP A UPSHIFT OR DOWNSHIFT. THE VEHICLE HAS A FAULTY CLUTCH AND THE SLAVE CYLINDER IS NOISY. THE #3 SHIFT NOISE MAY BE FAULTY SHIFT SYNCHRONIZER OR A DAMAGED SHIFT FORK
New vehicle was sold with 2 manufacturing defects: 1) Defective front left shock absorber with made steering unstable. 2) Leaking value cover gasket with created a fire risk. 3) Both defects where confirmed by a dealer. 4) Vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer, police, insurance representative or others. 5) No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of problem were presented prior to first dealer inspection. 6) The dealer who discovered the 2 manufacturing defects within the 3 year warranty period, held the vehicle over the weekend and claimed to have fixed both. However the next time I took it to a service center I was told the value cover gasket was leaking. 7) I eventually returned to the original dealer who sold me the vehicle and they confirmed that the value cover gasket was leaking and apparently was not repaired under warranty as expected. 8) The original dealer repaired the value cover gasket off-premise in local parking lot and over charge me based on previous warranty price.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 MPH, the vehicle was losing motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed and it was determined that the spark plugs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the ignition coils needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the TCM needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to Customer Satisfaction Program: 14M02 (Power Train); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
WHEN I REFUEL IT TAKES SEVERAL TRIES TO GET VEHICLE RESTARTED AND NEED TO PUMP ACCELERATOR TO KEEP IT FROM DYING. THE SMELL OF GAS IS BAD. COME TO A RED LIGHT STALLS AND HARD TO RESTART. AIR BAG LIGHT ON DASH AND NEVER GOES OUT. RPM SURGE AND CAR WILL LUNGE, VERY SCARY. JUST STARTED A LOUD CLICKING/THUMPING NOISE, FOUND OUT COULD BE ACTUATOR. AC WILL STOP BLOWING COOL AND BEGIN AGAIN. REPAIR SHOP CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY. FOR A NEW CAR HAS MANY ISSUES FOR BEING OUT FOR SUCH A SHORT TIME.
FORD DEALERSHIP "FIXED" THE TRANSMISSION ON 7-24-19 EXCEPT IT'S NOT FIXED. AT A STOP WHEN PRESSING THE GAS THE CAR WON'T MOVE THEN SUDDENLY LAUNCH FORWARD RANDOMLY. IT ALSO STILL LOSES ALL ENGINE POWER WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THESE WERE THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS BEFORE THE "FIX". THIS ISSUE HAS CAUSED A MINOR ACCIDENT AS WELL. WE GOT LIGHTLY REAR ENDED WHEN A LIGHT TURNED GREEN, WE STARTED MOVING FORWARD AND AT ABOUT 7-10MPH WE LOST ALL POWER AND THE PERSON BEHIND US COULDN'T STOP QUICK ENOUGH. DAMAGE WAS MINOR, JUST SOME CHIPPED PAINT BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE.
CAR STALLS, DOESN'T PICK UP SPEED, HESITATES TO START, ENGINE LIGHT IS ON BECAUSE THE GAS VALVE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. GAS WARNING COMES ON WHEN HALF FULL. GAS SMELL THROUGHOUT CAR. HAS A LOAD HUMMING SOUND WHEN DRIVING OR IDLED. JUMPS WHEN ACCELERATE. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO A DEALERSHIP IN SAINT LOUIS (RELOCATED RECENTLY) AND THEY WON'T TOUCH IT.
WHEN FUEL IS ADDED TO THE VEHICLE, IT WILL NOT START FOR 5-20 MINUTES AFTER FUEL IS ADDED AND REQUIRES 3-5 ATTEMPTS TO START. ADDITIONALLY, THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES WHERE ONCE IT STARTS AND BEGINS OPERATING, IT WILL LOSE POWER AND SHUT OFF. THIS POWER LOSS HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES AFTER LEAVING THE GAS STATION PARKING LOSS, LEADING TO BEING STALLED WHILE IN MOTION ON A ROADWAY. THIS IS A INCREDIBLY SCARY EXPERIENCE.
NOISE FROM RIGHT FRONT STRUT AREA. VERIFY NOISE FROM OUTSIDE STRUT FOUND TO BE LEAKING PASS SIDE STRUT LEAKING. REPLACE STRUT AND HARDWARE.
ENGINE FLUID LEAK ..ADD ON DURING REPAIRS FOUND VEHICLE LEAKING OIL HITTING EXHAUST SYSTEM. VALVE COVER GASKET FOUND LEAKING. REPLACE VALUE COVER GASKET.
WHEN I STEP ON THE GAS, THE CAR SPORADICALLY WILL NOT GO. SO I WILL STEP ON THE GAS LITTLE BIT MORE AND THE CAR WILL STILL NOT GO. SO I WILL STEP ON THE GAS A LITTLE MORE AND THEN SOMETHING WILL ENGAGE AND I WILL SHOOT FORWARD. THIS HAPPENS IN PLACES WHERE IT COULD BE CATASTROPHIC. FOR EXAMPLE, ONCE I WAS AT A STOP SIGN AND THIS WAS HAPPENING AND BECAUSE MY CAR WASN'T MOVING, ANOTHER CAR STARTED TO GO AND MY CAR FINALLY ENGAGED AND SHOT FORWARD AND I NARROWLY MISSED HITTING THAT OTHER VEHICLE

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LEAVE HER PLACE OF RESIDENCE, THE GEAR SHIFT LEVER WAS PLACED IN DRIVE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO GO BACKWARDS AND STRUCK THE SIDING OF THE RESIDENCE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HERITAGE FORD LOCATED AT 1600 SHELBURNE RD, SOUTH BURLINGTON, VT 05403, (802) 865-8100, TO BE DIAGNOSED, WHICH WAS STILL PENDING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
WHILE DRIVING I HEAR LIKE A KNOCKING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END, WHILE DRIVING DOWN MAIN STREETS AND SIDE STREETS.
RECENTLY AT 48,000 MILES MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON FOR A CODE P1450 AND P0456 WHICH IS FOR THE EVAP SYSTEM. MY VEHICLE NOW STALLS WHEN GAS IS FILLED UP AND EVEN LOSES PERFORMANCE AT HIGH SPEEDS.
MY CAR STALLS WHEN I COME TO A RED LIGHT ..ITS LIKE IT DONT WANA MOVE..SLOW ACCLER ATION
WHEN I PUT GAS IN MY 2016 FORD FIESTA IT WANT START RIGHT AFTER THE CAR STALL WHICH I'M TOLD BY MY MECHANIC THAT THE VAPOR CANISTER PURGE VALVE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND FORD HAS THIS SAME ISSUE WITH THE FORD FOCUS BUT WANT PUT THE FIESTA ON THE TO BE RECALLED LIST
AFTER FILLING UP, THE CAR IDLES ROUGHLY. RPMS DROP UNEXPECTEDLY, AND SOMETIMES KILL THE ENGINE. THIS HAS RESULTED IN THE CAR SPORADICALLY DYING AT INTERSECTIONS WHILE IDLING AND WHILE SHIFTING INTO FIRST GEAR. THE CAR HAS BEEN DOING IT CONSISTENTLY AFTER FILLING UP WITH GAS. DOES NOT MATTER THE GAS STATION OR FUEL TYPE (87, 91, 93 OCTANE). NO CODES ARE THROWN AND DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNABLE TO DUPLICATE PROBLEM.

VEHICLE HAS RANDOM SUDDEN LOSS OF ACCELERATION WHILE IN MOTION, LURCHES AHEAD RANDOMLY, SHUDDERS AND SHAKES WHEN CHANGING GEARS, CAUSING LOSS OF CONTROL IN VARIOUS MOVING SITUATIONS. THIS HAPPENS REGULARLY IN ALL DRIVING CONDITIONS
THE CAR WILL NOT START PROPERLY AFTER REFUELING. YOU HAVE TO PRESS ON THE GAS SEVERAL TIMES AND THEN THE BRAKE TO START IT. WHEN IT DOES START, YOU NEED TO REV THE ENGINE A COUPLE TIMES TO MAKE SURE IT WON'T DIE AGAIN. THE TRANSMISSION IS NOW SLIPPING AND DROPS TO NEUTRAL WHILE DRIVING AT ANY GIVEN TIME. IT HAPPENED TO ME TWICE THIS MORNING WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE. WHEN IT FINALLY GETS BACK INTO GEAR, IT LURCHES FORWARD. THIS MORNING I WAS NEARLY IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS NEW DEVELOPMENT IN A 2 YEAR OLD CAR. I WILL NEVER BUY A FORD AGAIN, THIS IS TOO DANGEROUS FOR ANYONE VALUING THEIR LIVES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FIESTA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE STALLED NUMEROUS TIMES AFTER A COLD START. THE CLUTCH WAS APPLIED AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED, IN MOST INSTANCES, WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE WAS PROGRESSING TO THE POINT THAT THE VEHICLE MAY NOT RESTART. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000. *BF CONSUMER STATED AFTER A COLD START TEN OR MORE HOURS, ALWAYS DURING THE FIRST 1/3 MILE AT SPEEDS LESS THAN OR UP TO 25 MPH AND IN THE FIRST 3 GEARS OF NY MANUAL TRANSMISSION WHEN I APPLY THE CLUTCH INSTEAD OF THE CLUTCH MAINTAINING ENGINE REVS, THE REV COUNTER WILL JUMP UP AND THEN DIP DOWN AND THE ENGINE SOMETIMES STALLS. ONCE THE CAR IS WARM AND HIGHER SPEEDS HAVE BEEN REACHED THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT REOCCUR EVEN AT THE LOWER GEARS AND SPEEDS. *JB

ON ONE OCCASION, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, IT SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT THE ENGINE BEGAN TO SCREECH. UPON DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE CONTINUE TO SCREECH AND STALLED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO RANDALL REED'S PLANET FORD (19000 EASTEX FWY, HUMBLE, TX 77338, (866) 844-5995) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE AIR COMPRESSOR AND NUMEROUS OTHER FAILURES; HOWEVER, THE FAILURES CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
WHILE IDLING AT STOP LIGHTS OR CITY DRIVING THE CAR WILL DROP RPM'S OR STALL OUT ON IT'S OWN. HAS HAPPENED WHILE MAKING A U-TURN, TURNING, AND IDLING. IT HAPPENS RANDOMLY AND FORD WILL NOT TAKE THE ISSUE SERIOUSLY

TAKATA RECALL. EVERY TIME I PUT FUEL IN MY CAR IT HESITATES. SOMETIMES IT CUTS OFF AND SOMETIMES IT JUST SHAKES AND ALMOST CUTS OFF. IT HESITATES WHEN I DON'T PUT FUEL IN IT BUT IT DOES IT WORSE EVERYTIME I PUT FUEL IN IT. THE TRANSMISSION DOESN'T CHANGE GEARS SOMETIMES. I HAVE TO LET IT COAST TO GET IT TO CHANGE GEARS OR I HAVE TO STOP THEN GO. IF I YIELD THEN GO WITH OUT COMPLETELY STOPPING THE TRANSMISSION WON'T CHANGE GEARS UNLESS I LET IT COAST UNTIL IT CHANGES OR STOP AND LET IT CHANGE BEFORE I PROCEED.
I BOUGHT MY 2016 FORD FIESTA WITH 31K MILES ON IT. AT THE TIME I DIDN'T RESEARCH TOO DEEPLY INTO THE TRANSMISSION ISSUES THESE MODELS HAVE. SINCE MY CAR HIT ABOUT 45K MILES I'VE EXPERIENCED SHUTTERING, JUMPING, CLICKING, AND ROUGH SHIFTING OR COMPLETE LACK OF SHIFTING IN THE TRANSMISSION WHILE DRIVING SAFELY AND NORMALLY. I'VE EXPERIENCED MY CAR DYING RANDOMLY BECAUSE THE TCM IS FAULTY AND USES ALL THE CAR'S POWER EVEN WHEN THE CAR ISN'T ON. DURING A PERIOD MY CAR WAS HAVING LOTS OF TROUBLE TURNING OVER THE ENGINE TO START. HAD A BUNCH OF VACUUMS AND WIRING REPLACED AND THIS HELPED A BIT WITH THE CAR STARTING. NOW IT'S AT 67K MILES AND I'M COMPLETELY SCARED TO DRIVE IT. IT NEVER FEELS RELIABLE GIVEN THE FAULTY TCM, I'VE HAD TO BUY AN EXTRA PORTABLE CAR JUMP STARTER JUST SO I CAN MAKE SURE I'LL BE ABLE TO DRIVE HOME, AND NOW I JUST WANT FORD TO BUY IT BACK. IT'S OVERALL A FAULTY CAR THAT IS FORESHADOWING A FUTURE OF REPLACING SOMETHING RELATED TO THE TRANSMISSION EVERY 5K MILES WHICH IS RIDICULOUS AND COMPLETELY UNAFFORDABLE. PLEASE REMEDY THIS CATASTROPHIC ISSUE FORD!
TRANSMISSION ACTING UP. WHEN I TEST DROVE THE CAR IN MARCH 2017 I ACTUALLY QUESTIONED THE SALESPERSON BECAUSE I DID NOT FEEL IT WAS SHIFTING NORMALLY - HIS RESPONSE WAS "NO THIS IS THE NEW TRANSMISSION FORD IS PUTTING IN, THE BEST ONE THERE IS." UNFORTUNATELY MY PROBLEMS DID NOT START RIGHT AWAY BUT AFTER ABOUT 18 MONTHS. THE CAR OCCASIONALLY WOULD JUMP OR ACCELERATE WHILE I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. I WOULD HAVE TO SLAM ON THE BRAKE TO KEEP FROM HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY THE CAR WOULD ACCELERATE LIKE THE CRUISE CONTROL WAS RESETTING TO A HIGHER SPEED, AGAIN HAD TO USE THE BRAKES. OTHER TIMES IT WOULD SLOW DOWN LIKE IT WAS GOING TO STOP AND THEN SUDDENLY GO. IT IS AT A POINT NOW WHERE IT SOMETIMES WILL NOT SHIFT AND I LITERALLY FEEL LIKE I AM IN LOW GEAR FOR A MINUTE OR TWO EVEN THOUGH I AM GOING 60 MPH. I GOT IN IT THIS WEEK AND THE CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO DRIVE. I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND IT MOVED, PUT IT BACK IN DRIVE AND NOTHING, PUT IT IN REVERSE AGAIN AND FINALLY IT WENT INTO DRIVE. NOW IT HESITATES SOMETIMES WHEN I AM AT A STOP SIGN AND GETTING READY TO RESUME DRIVING, I HAVE HAD HORNS HONKED AT ME AND GESTURES MADE BECAUSE IT TAKES THE CAR SOMETIMES 2 MINUTES TO GO INTO GEAR. I HAVE CALLED FORD ON A FEW OCCASIONS TO TRY AND SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A MECHANIC BUT ONCE I TELL THEM WHAT THE PROBLEM IS I AM TOLD THAT IT IS NORMAL AND TO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT. I AM NOW UPSIDE DOWN IN A CAR FINANCIALLY THAT IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE SO AM EITHER LOOKING AT HAVING A CAR REPOSSESSED IN ORDER TO GET ANOTHER ONE OR JUST LETTING IT SET AND PURCHASING A GOOD USED CAR UNTIL I CAN AFFORD TO FIX THIS ONE. I CERTAINLY CANNOT SELL IT TO AN INDIVIDUAL BECAUSE OF ALL THE PUBLICITY ABOUT THE TRANSMISSIONS, NO ONE WOULD PURCHASE IT AND I WOULD NOT WANT TO SELL MY PROBLEM TO ANYONE ELSE
SINCE WEEK 1 THE CAR (WHEN AT A STOP AND IN GEAR) IF YOU PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AT ANY LEVEL THE CAR WOULD DO NOTHING THEN AFTER ROUGHLY 3-6 SECONDS IT WOULD RANDOMLY LAUNCH FORWARD. IT WOULD ALSO SEEMINGLY GO INTO NEUTRAL ON THE HIGHWAY WHICH LED TO A COMPLETE LOSS OF ENGINE POWER. THIS ALSO HAPPENS WHEN ON A NORMAL ROAD AT ANY SPEED AND IS COMPLETELY RANDOM AND ONE TIME AT A RED LIGHT WE BEGAN TO ACCELERATE THEN POWER SUDDENLY CUT OUT AND WE GOT REAR ENDED LIGHTLY. I TOLD PETER'S FORD IN NASHUA NH DURING OUR 1ST 3 OIL CHANGES ABOUT THE ISSUE AND WAS TOLD IMPLICITLY THAT IT WAS COMPLETELY NORMAL AND I SHOULDN'T WORRY ABOUT IT AS IT WILL JUST GO AWAY ON ITS OWN. ESSENTIALLY I WAS BRUSHED OFF DESPITE 3 COMPLAINTS THAT NEVER LED TO THE DEALER CHECKING THE CAR. THESE ISSUES HAVE BEEN CONSTANT SINCE WE BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW IN 2016.

THE CAR JERKS AND SHUTTERS WHEN THE GAS IS FIRST PRESSED FROM A STOP. THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN "FIXED" 3 TIMES AND STILL HAS ISSUES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 FORD FIESTA. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, FLAMES APPEARED UNDER THE HOOD OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. WHEN HE EXITED THE VEHICLE AND OPENED THE HOOD, THE CONTACT NOTICED FLAMES BETWEEN THE BATTERY AND THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER HAD NOT BEEN CONTACTED. IT WAS UNKNOWN IF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE AND IF THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,500.
MY CAR HAS LESS THAN 50000 MILES AND ALREADY BEEN TO THE SHOP DUE TO NOT STARTING. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE BATTERY HAD A BAD CELL. GOT THE BATTERY REPLACED AND ALL WORKED FINE. 2 MONTHS LATER THE SAME ISSUES ARE HAPPENING AGAIN. WILL GO TO THE SHOP THIS WEEK. HOPEFULLY THEY VAN FIND OUT WHAT'S WRONG.
