I WAS IN A COLLISION IN MY FORD FLEX ON JUNE 29, 2020. AT THE TIME, A CAR TURNED IN FRONT OF ME ON THE HIGHWAY CAUSING ME TO TBONE THE OTHER VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 45MPH. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS IN MY FORD FLEX DEPLOYED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FLEX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR TOE LINK FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO PRIME FORD - SACO (857 PORTLAND RD, SACO, ME 04072), AND IT WAS DIAGNOSED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE REAR TOE LINK WAS FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 20V072000 (SUSPENSION) HOWEVER, THE PART NEEDED FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT PAID OUT OF POCKET TO HAVE THE VEHICLE REPAIRED DUE TO PARTS NOT BEING AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND PROVIDED A CASE NUMBER. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
DRIVER SIDE DOOR SENSOR APPEARS TO NOT BE FUNCTIONING. WARNING PANEL LIGHT COMES ON INDICATING DOOR IS NOT CLOSED, WHEN IT IN FACT IS. INTERIOR LIGHTS SIMULTANEOUSLY COME ON BUT NOT ALL THE TIME. ADDITIONALLY WARNING SAYS, TRANSMISSION IS NOT IN "PARK." USUALLY OCCURS WHEN CAR IS BEING STARTED, BUT NOT ALWAYS. HAS OCCURRED 6 TIMES. *TR
ENGINE TURBO FAILURE WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY DURING A LONGER ROAD TRIP (~600 MILES, MAJORITY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS). THIS IS THE V6 ECOBOOST ENGINE. I WAS INFORMED BY DEALERSHIP REPAIR SHOP THAT IT 'FELL APART' AND PARTS OF IT WERE SUCKED BACK INTO THE ENGINE. SIGNIFICANT KNOCKING AND POP SOUND FROM ENGINE WHILE DRIVING; SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF POWER WHEN ACCELERATING. *TR
IN MARCH 2020, FORD ISSUED A SAFETY RECALL OF MY VEHICLE FOR TOE LINK FAILURES, AND OFFERED TO FIX THE CAR IN THE THIRD QUARTER. THIS DID NOT COME SOON ENOUGH FOR ME! ON MAY 28, I WAS DRIVING NORTH ON WISCONSIN AVE IN BETHESDA, MD NEAR THE INTERSECTION WITH WOODMONT. ABRUPTLY, MY LEFT REAR TOE LINK FAILED AND I LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR AND SWERVED INTO ANOTHER LANE. FORTUNATELY I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 35 MPH AND THERE WERE NO VEHICLES IN THE OTHER LANE. I DRIVE A LOT WITH MY FAMILY IN THIS VEHICLE AT FREEWAY SPEEDS AND THIS INCIDENT COULD HAVE KILLED ALL OF US!! I HAVE WRITEN TO FORD AND ASKED THEM TO PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF BOTH REAR LINKS, WHICH COST ME $587.14. THEIR RECALL NOTICE STATES FORD IS NOT SUGGESTING THAT PEOPLE STOP DRIVING THE CAR, BUT AGAIN, I OR MY FAMILY WERE IN GREAT DANGER WITH THIS DEFECT.
THE LIGHT STAYS ON SAYING PASSENGER DOOR NOT CLOSED. ALL DOORS ARE CLOSED. DOUBLE CHECK BUT LIGHT VERY SELDOM GOES OUT. MAKES THE LIGHTS STAY ON IN THE CAR LONGER THAN USUAL, CAN'T LOCK THE CAR DOOR, IF CAR IS PARKED AND WARNING LIGHT ABOUT DOOR GOES OFF AND YOU LOCK THE CAR THE ALARM WILL GO OFF ANYTIME DURING DAY OR NIGHT. LIGHT SAYING DOOR NOT CLOSED COMES ON WHILE DRIVING, FIRST CRANK UP, WHEN YOU CUT CAR OFF OR WHEN YOU OPEN DOOR TO GET IN AND OUT OF THE CAR.
I HAVE A 2014 FORD FLEX SEL WITH 57000 MILES ON IT. FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS I HAVEN'T BEEN DRIVING MUCH DUE TO THE STAY AT HOME ORDER(COVID-19), FROM BEING USED DAILY TO COMMUTE TO WORK TO ONLY ONE OR TWICE A WEEK FOR ESENCIALES. ONE MORNING I WAS HEADING TO MY PARENTS HOUSE AND AS I WAS DOING A RIGHT TURN INTO AN INTERSECTION ONE BLOCK AWAY FROM MY HOUSE. ALL OF A SUDDEN THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT IN THE APEX OF THE TURN MAKING IT HARD TO STRAIGHTEN OUT THE CAR ALMOST HITTING A PARKED CAR. I JUST FINISHED PAYING OFF THE CAR AND THEN THIS HAPPENED. *TR
CAR WAS LEAKING FUEL FROM UNDERNEATH. *TR
WHEN THE VEHICLE GETS TO THE HALF TANK MARK, IT GOES TO EMPTY AND SHUTS OFF SHORTLY AFTER. WHEN REFUELING, IT ONLY FILLS MAYBE 5-10 GALLONS MAX BEFORE OVERFLOWING. IT HAS ALMOST STRANDED US MULTIPLE TIMES.
AFTER GETTING OIL CHANGED AROUND 82K MILES THERE IS DIFFICULTY STEERING ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEED. FEELS AS IF THE POWER STEERING IS INTERMITTENT. THERE ARE NO WARNING LIGHTS OR ANY OTHER NOTIFICATIONS OF A PROBLEM, BUT IT DOES EXIST. IT MAKES ME HATE TO DRIVE THIS CAR.
I WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR STOPPED ALL OF A SUDDEN IN THE MIDDLE OF RESIDENTIAL STREET AT 6 AM AND WHEN I TRIED TO RE-START IT, IT WOULD CRANK BUT WOULD NOT TURN OVER AND START BACK UP SO I COULD MOVE IT. I HAD TO PUSH IT OUT OF THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO THE SHOP AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE.
FORD NOTIFIED MY IN MARCH OF 2020 OF AN OPEN RECALL ON THE REAR SUSPENSION TOE LINK, AND THAT I SHOULD SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH SERVICE TO HAVE THIS TAKEN CARE OF. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALER (FUTURE FORD IN SACRAMENTO, CA) IN JULY OF 2020 AND THEY SAID THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS YET AND TO TRY BACK IN Q3. I RECEIVED A SECOND LETTER IN OCTOBER OF 2020, AGAIN STATING TO SCHEDULE SERVICE TO HAVE THE RECALL WORK PERFORMED AND WAS TOLD THEY STILL DID NOT HAVE THE PARTS. I CALLED AGAIN IN DECEMBER OF 2020 AND AGAIN IN FEBRUARY OF 2021, AND AGAIN IN MARCH OF 2021 AND THEN WAS TOLD TO CALL BACK IN APRIL. I CALLED LAST WEEK AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND THAT THERE WAS A NATIONAL BACKORDER. AFTER CALLING SEVERAL DEALERSHIPS IN MY AREA, INCLUDING ONES THAT WERE HOURS AWAY (I WAS WILLING TO TAKE THE CAR THERE TO GET IT FIXED), I WAS TOLD THERE ARE NO PARTS ANYWHERE. I AM MOVING ACROSS THE COUNTRY (2500 MILES) AND AM WORRIED THIS PART WILL FAIL (AS DETAILED IN THE RECALL NOTICE) AND HAVE ALSO HAD TO REPLACE TWO REAR TIRES BECAUSE THEY ARE WEARING IMPROPERLY, I BELIEVE DUE TO THIS ISSUE. THE CAR IS ALSO LOUDER THAN BEFORE AND I BELIEVE THIS IS RELATED TO THE TOE LINK ISSUE AS WELL. I WAS TOLD EACH TIME I CALLED THAT MY VIN IS A "MUST REPAIR" RATHER THAN JUST HAVING IT INSPECTED TO SEE IF IT IS DAMAGED OR NOT. HOW CAN FORD ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN FOR THE LAST YEAR+ AT THIS POINT? THIS SEEMS UNREASONABLE AND COSTLY TO ME AS I AM GOING TO KEEP WEARING MY TIRES IMPROPERLY BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. PICTURES OF THE UNEVEN WEAR ON THE REAR TIRES ARE ATTACHED.
IN MAY 2019 A SIDE VENT WINDOW OM THE PASSENGER SIDE SHATTERED WHILE THE CAR WAS IN THE GARAGE. ON 2/14/2020, THE REAR CARGO AREA WINDOW ON THE PASSENGER SIDE ALSO SHATTERED SPONTANEOUSLY WHILE SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY. THE WINDOW THAT SHATTERED ON 2/14/2020 WAS BOWED OUT AFTER IT SHATTERED SO THE BREAKAGE COULD NOT HAVE COME FROM OUTSIDE THE CAR.

This vehicle has been on the recall list since Feb of 2020, every ,it was taken to Tamiami Ford Inc., in Naples Fl. about 4 or 5 times since I was notified by Car Fax a couple years ago and they always say the same thing " We dont gave the part ". So what is a customer supposed to do? But when I pay them for servicing the vehicle there are no problems having the Part.
MY DOOR STARTED TO SAY THAT THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WAS OPEN. AND 1 WEEK LATER I GOT A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR SENSOR SAYING IT IS OPEN OR AJAR. I ASKED FORD IF THIS INCLUDED THE BACK DOOR. THEY REQUIRED THAT I TAKE IN MY CAR. I TOOK IT IN AND THEY NEVER INFORMED ME IF IT INCLUDED THE BACK DOOR THEY JUST WENT AHEAD AND FIXED THE FRONT DOOR WHICH WAS ALWAYS WORKING.
BOUGHT USED WITH 65,000 MILES, AT 75,000 MILES PASSENGER BACK DOOR SENSOR WENT BAD CAUSING CAR TO SAY "RIGH BACK DOOR AJAR" AND THE LIGHTS STAY ON, DOORS DO NOT LOCK WHEN DRIVING, ALARM GOES OFF INTERMITTENTLY. WHY HAS FORD NOT DONE SOMETHING ABOUT THIS - CLEARLY A PROBLEM. ALSO THE 2ND ROW SEAT BELTS HAVE BEEN A NIGHTMARE. KIDS ALWAYS GETTING STUCK - CNA'T UNLATCH THEM. ONE OF THE RECEPTECLES JUST FELL APART - NOT SAFE! WHY HASN'T FORD DONE SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. I OWN 5 FORD VEHICLES AND THE OLDER VEHICLES RUN GREAT - NO ISSUES. SEEMS LIKE FROM 2012 AND NEWER THERE IS NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE QUALITY AND CARE FROM FORD?

We own a 2014 Ford Flex, and have been experiencing persistent problems with its rear backup camera system. We have been having this problem for close to 3 yrs now. The camera works intermittently every now and then. Sometimes, we get a message “Rear view camera unavailable. Contact Dealership”. There are times when it works and suddenly turns off while backing up. On multiple occasions, this has led to several close calls and near accidents when backing out of parking spaces, especially around small kids in school parking lots when I go to drop off and pick up my own kids from school. I often have to park my car far away or wait until the parking lot is less crowded to back up my car to avoid any accidents. It poses a serious safety risk when reversing in parking lots and other confined spaces. I have been unable to rely on the camera's display and Ford Flex being a big car, it is very inconvenient and dangerous to the people around my car while backing up. We did take it to the dealership sometime about an year ago to get it fixed and were charged $200 to just take a look at it. And, the dealer came back to say that there was no problem with the software and said that it looked like a problem with the wiring and quoted us close to $1000 +. The rear backup camera is an integral safety feature, allowing drivers to have a clear view of what's behind them when reversing. What is particularly troubling is that Ford has issued recalls for similar issues in other Ford models, but the Ford Flex seems to be absent from the list. I have been hearing this issue with other Ford Flex owners in my neighborhood and online about the same issue with many Ford Flex owners as well. It seems unfair and unjust that owners of Ford Flex Flex vehicles are left to grapple with these dangerous problems without any resolution from the manufacturer.
I STARTED MY CAR AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES AND THE CAR HAD NOT BEEN DOING ANYTHING DIFFERENT. I HAD IT CHECKED AND I GOT THE CODE P025B. I WAS LEAVING THE NEXT MORNING TO GO TO WORK AND THE CAR WOULD CRANK BUT THEN IT CUT OFF AS SOON AS I GOT OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I ONLY HAVE 90K MILES ON MY CAR WHICH IS EARLY FOR THE FUEL PUMP. I ALSO READ THAT SOME OF THE SAME MODEL CARS AS MINE HAVE A FUEL PUMP RECALL. I REALLY NEED THIS TO BE CHECKED BECAUSE IT JUST STOPPED OUT OF NO WHERE. I WAS TOLD BY THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE THIS CHECKED TO SEE IF IT WAS A MALFUNCTION.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000.
WHILE DRIVING, I HEARD A STRANGE NOISE COMING FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. ONCE I REACHED MY DESTINATION AND RETURNED TO MY CAR AND STARTED IT, THE POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. I BEGAN TO PULL OFF, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STEER, AND I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED HOME. THE NEXT DAY I CALLED FORD TO EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED AND WAS TOLD IT WOULD COST AROUND $2,000 TO FIX. I GOOGLED IT AND FOUND OUT THE STEERING ASSIST HAD BEEN RECALLED FOR THAT YEAR MAKE AND MODEL. I THEN CALLED THE NUMBER ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECALL AND KEYED IN THE CODE RELATED TO THE MAKE AND MODEL. A FEW MOMENTS LATER, A REP CAME ON THE LINE AND ASKED FOR MY VIN. HE INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL IN 2015 OR 16 CAN'T REMEMBER THE EXACT YEAR, BUT UNFORTUNATELY, THE RECALL WAS VIN SPECIFIC, AND MY VEHICLE WAS NOT ON THAT LIST. I FOUND THIS NEWS TO BE VERY DISTURBING, DANGEROUS, AND IRRESPONSIBLE FOR FORD NOT TO REPLACE OR REPAIR THIS FAULTY PART IN ALL OF THE 2014 MODELS, NOT JUST THOSE WITH A SPECIFIC VIN. WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE FOR THEM TO CORRECT THIS; PRAYERFULLY NOT SOMEONE'S LIFE?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2014 FORD FLEX. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL POPPING NOISE AND THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE DROPPED WITHOUT WARNING. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. ALL THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE POLICE TOWED THE VEHICLE TO A LOT. AN INSURANCE ADJUSTER CAME TO THE SENE AND DECLARED THE VEHICLE TOTALED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V393000 (POWER TRAIN). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 122,393.
DOORS DO NOT LOCK WHILE DRIVING; WARNING THAT DOOR IS NOT CLOSED WILL CONTINUE INDEFINITELY
SPEAKERS LET OUT EXTREMELY LOUD CRACKLE NOISE, EAR PIERCING STATIC NOISE AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE RADIO NO LONGER WORKS. THE RADIO DOES TURN ON BUT YOU CAN NOT CHANGE THE CHANNEL NOR ANY SOUND. ABSOLUTELY NO SOUND NO MATTER WHAT THE VOLUME IS AT. IF MY PHONE IS PAIRED TO THE RADIO IT'S COMPLETE SILENCE AND BOTH PARTIES HEAR NOTHING BUT SILENCE. THIS HAPPENS NOT MATTER IF YOU ARE DRIVING OR PARKED. YOU GET THE SAME RESULTS IN ALL POSITIONS OF THE VEHICLE.
WHEN PUTTING ON A STEERING WHEEL COVER. I NOTICED WHEN I HELD THE STEERING WHEEL FROM 12 AND 6 THE WHEEL FELT LOSE. NOT FROM THE ADJUSTING PART BUT THE WHOLE STEERING WHEEL IT SELF WAS SOME WHAT LOSE NOT TO FALL OFF BUT JUST LOSE.
LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF INSIDE CAR SAYS THERE IS A DOOR OPEN MAKES IT VERY UNSAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE RUNS DOWN CAR BATTERY ALARM GOES OFF EVERY NIGHT DUE TO THIS ELECTRICAL FLAW
WE HAVE A 2014 FORD FLEX WITH 41,000 MILES. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING TWO DAYS AFTER GETTING HER OIL CHANGED AT GALPIN FORD AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. SHE CALLED THEM AND THEY SAID TURN OFF THE CAR AND WAIT A MINUTE AND IT WILL RESET IT SELF. SHE DID THAT AND IT WORKED. TWO DAYS LATER IT WENT OUT COMPLETELY SO SHE TRIED TO TURN IT OFF AND ON AGAIN THAT'S WHEN THE STABILITY LIGHT WENT ON AND SAID IT NEEDS SERVICE. THE PERSON AT FORD TELLING HER HOW TO RESET IT TELLS ME THEY HAVE HAD SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS. THEY WANT ME TO SPEND OVER TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS TO REPLACE THE STEERING COLUMN!!!!!!! THEY WON'T EVEN COME GET THE CAR TO DIAGNOSE IT. THEY WANT ME TO HAVE IT TOWED OR DRIVE IT TO THEM.
POWER STEERING FAILURE
WHEN AT IDLE THE FLEX BEGINS TO ACT AS IF IT IS GOING TO STALL THEN IT DOES. WHEN I RESTART IT CERTAIN ELECTRIC FUNCTIONS DISABLE. MY CAR IS AT 54K MILES NOW BUT WE HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM SINCE IT WAS AT 32K. I FIND IT EXTREMELY COINCIDENTAL THAT THE SAME YEARS ECO BOOST ENGINE IS HAVING A PROBLEM AND WAS ISSUED A RECALL BUT NOT MY NON ECO BOOST V-6 DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL.
VEHICLE FAILED TO START, CRANKED CONTINUOUSLY BUT NO FUEL. OUR FLEX HAS A NORMAL ASPIRATED ENGINE. VEHICLES WITH THE ECOBOOST OR TURBO ENGINE HAVE A RECALL ON THE FUEL PUMP ELECTRIC MODULE. I REPLACED THE PART MYSELF AND THE FLEX STARTED IMMEDIATELY. FORTUNATELY, THE VEHICLE FAILED IN THE DRIVEWAY AND NOT DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD FULL OF CHILDREN. THIS COMPONENT SHOULD BE RECALLED ON EITHER ENGINE OPTION ON THE FLEX. THERE ARE NUMEROUS STORIES OF THIS COMPONENT FAILING ON EITHER ENGINE MODEL. IT IS A $50 FIX AND I WOULD URGE ALL FLEX OWNERS TO REPLACE THIS COMPONENT YOURSELVES IF FORD WILL NOT REPLACE IT FOR YOU. FOR LESS THAN A TANK OF FUEL, YOU CAN REPLACE THIS COMPONENT YOURSELF AND AVOID THE POSSIBILITY OF BEING STRANDED WITH A VEHICLE THAT STALLS OUT AND WILL NOT RESTART OR SIMPLY FAILS TO START. HAD I BEEN AWARE OF THIS, I WOULD HAVE DONE THIS ASAP. YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER WHERE THIS FAILURE WILL OCCUR, I.E. ON THE HIGHWAY LATE AT NIGHT. THIS COMPONENT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED REGARDLESS OF THE ENGINE. THE REPLACEMENT PART IS THE SAME FOR BOTH ENGINES.
VEHICLE CENTER CONSOLE (ALSO KNOWN BY FORD AS THE GLOVE BOX) LATCH ATTACHMENT, HAS SEPARATED PER FORD TECH AND WILL NO LONGER SECURE LATCH ASSEMBLY TO ARMREST ASSEMBLY. THIS FAILURE RESULTS IN THE CENTER CONSOLE LATCH NOT SECURING THE ARMREST. AS THE ARMREST IS NOT SECURED, IT ENTERS THE AREA AROUND THE DRIVER AND IMPEDES DRIVING, IMPACTING SAFETY WHILE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THIS IS A KNOWN FAILURE THAT HAS REPORTEDLY OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE VEHICLES UP TO ABOUT MODEL YEAR 2014 (FORD FLEX), REF NHTSA REPORT 11152858 FOR EXAMPLE. VEHICLE IS UNDER WARRANTY BY FORD AND REPAIR IS UNDER REVIEW CURRENTLY BY FORD, AS IT WAS INITIALLY DECLINED TO BE COVERED FOR UNEXPLAINED REASONS. PER DEALERSHIP, ENTIRE ARMREST ASSEMBLY REQUIRES REPLACEMENT AS THE ATTACHING POINTS ARE NON-REPAIRABLE. FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 44,000 MILES. FAILURE WAS NOT CAUSED BY OWNER'S ACTIONS THAT WOULD BE CONSIDERED AS NEGLIGENT.
WE HAVE OWNED OUR VEHICLE FOR ALMOST 5 YEARS. SPORADICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF THOSE 5 YEARS THE CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM INDICATOR HAS COME ON WHEN WE TURN ON THE CAR AND THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT. WE HAVE HAD IT CHECKED MULTIPLE TIMES AND THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG. IT IS HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY AND BOTH THE TRANSMISSION AND ALTERNATOR HAVE BEEN CHECKED AND ARE FINE. I'M INVESTIGATING ONLINE IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM. I FEEL LIKE THERE IS A DEFECT SOMEWHERE AND IT NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED. IT IS SCARY AND VERY DANGEROUS WHEN IT GOES OUT.

ELECTRIC STEERING MECHANISM STARTED MAKING CREAKING SOUND WHEN STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED LEFT OR RIGHT. DEALER RECOMMENDED REPLACING THE RACK AND PINION SYSTEM FOR $2,700. MY CAR ONLY HAS 59,000 MILES. THIS MAJOR OPERATING SYSTEM SHOULD NOT BE FAILING.
CAR STALL AND WOULD NOT START. REPLACED FUEL PUMP AND WORKING AGAIN BUT MY BIN WAS NOT LISTED UNDER THE RECALL FROM WHAT I CAN SEE RODORS WARPED 3 TURNS. REPLACED BREAKS TWICE WITHIN 10,000 MILES.

In addition, the contact stated that the failure occurred sometimes when the vehicle was parked, and the alarm activated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a faulty door latch. The contact was informed that the door latch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was persistent. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The contact was informed that the repair could not be covered under warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. The VIN was unavailable.
NOTICED THE STEERING TIGHTEN UP WHILE DRIVING. WENT AWAY, CAME BACK, WENT AWAY, CAME BACK. WIFE COULDN'T TURN THE WHEEL SAFELY. ELECTRIC POWER STEERING FAILURE.
STEERING IS VERY DIFFICULT, LIKE THE POWER STEERING IS FAILING. THE MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH IT (NO FAILURE CODES). BUT IT IS STILL VERY DIFFICULT TO TURN, MAKING IT FEEL VERY UNSAFE.
I STOPPED THE VEHICLE AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 1 MILE TO GO INTO A STORE. AFTER 4 MINUTES PARKED, IT WOULD CRANK OVER, BUT NOT START. IT HAD TO BE TOWED TO SOUTHGATE FORD. THEY DIAGNOSED IT AS A BAD FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE. THIS IS THE VERY SAME PART THAT'S RECALLED ON CERTAIN FORD FLEX MODELS OF THIS SAME YEAR (2014). THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT SAID MY VIN NUMBER DIDN'T FALL UNDER THE RECALL, EVEN THOUGH THE IDENTICAL PART IS RECALLED ON 2014 ECOBOOST AND POLICE DUTY . VEHICLES. THE DEALER CHARGED $386.65 TO REPAIR. IF THIS FAILED WHILE DRIVING I WOULD HAVE SUDDENLY LOST POWER ASSIST AND SPEED.
PASSENGER AJAR SENSOR IS FAULTY, CONSTANTLY REMAINING ON. THIS KEEPS ALL LIGHTING ON WHEN REVERSING POSING A GREAT RISK WHEN BACKING THE VEHICLE UP ESPECIALLY IN EVENING HOURS. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NEWER FORD VEHICLES AND OUR SURPRISED THIS HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED YET. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SAFELY DRIVE WITH THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAYING ON.
HAVE HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH THE REAR PASSENGER SEATBELTS RETRACTING TO THE POINT NOW WHERE KLABEN FORD SAYS THE ENTIRE SEATBELT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT IS A REAR PASSENGER AIRBAG SEATBELT.
VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER..LIKE THE POWER STEERING IS GONE. WHILE DRIVING, TURNING LEFT OR RIGHT DID NOT MATTER. AT THIS POINT PROBLEM UNKNOWN.

SEARCHED THE WEB AND FOUND SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING 2013-2015 FLEXS' WITH SAME COMPLAINT. DIAGNOSIS WAS FUEL PUMP RELAY, BUT NOT MINE????

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE THE VEHICLE STARTED UP AGAIN WITHOUT INCIDENT. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED A THIRD TIME, THE CONTACT DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY CABLE, WAITED A FEW MOMENTS, AND THE VEHICLE STARTED WITHOUT INCIDENT. WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED THE FOURTH TIME, THE SAME BATTERY OPERATION WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL AND THE CONTACT HAD TO HAVE THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO THE SAME DEALER. THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURES WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND VERIFIED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
