TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FLEX. WHEN ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE VEHICLE AFTER FILLING THE TANK, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESTART. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A CERTIFIED MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL TANK MODULE FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT SPOKE WITH THE DEALER WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FLEX. WHILE DRIVING OUT OF A PARKING LOT AT 5 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED AN ABNORMALLY STRONG ODOR. THE CONTACT WAS UNSURE WHERE THE ODOR ORIGINATED FROM AND ROLLED DOWN THE WINDOWS. THE CONTACT CALLED ED BUTTS FORD (1515 N HACIENDA BLVD, LA PUENTE, CA 91744, (800) 960-3673) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED A SECOND TIME AND DIAGNOSED THAT CARBON MONOXIDE WAS LEAKING FROM THE EXHAUST SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
DOOR LATCH SENSORS ARE FAULTY. WE REPLACED THE FRONT PASSENGER LATCH SENSOR IN APRIL 2017 AND NOW NEED TO REPLACE THE BACK PASSENGER LATCH. BECAUSE THE ELECTRICAL/SECURITY SYSTEM TELLS THE CAR THE DOOR IS AJAR, IT DOES NOT ALLOW THE POWER LOCKS TO FUNCTION WHILE THE CAR IS RUNNING. IT ALSO DRAINS THE BATTERY BY NOT TURNING THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHT OFF AS WELL AS SETTING OFF THE CAR ALARM UNPREDICTABLY. THE INTERIOR DOME LIGHTS ALSO COME ON WHILE THE CAR IS DRIVING, WHICH IS DISTRACTING TO THE DRIVER.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FLEX. THE CONTACT NOTICED A SMALL CRACK IN THE SIDE WINDOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SAYBROOK FORD (1 FORD DR, OLD SAYBROOK, CT 06475 (860) 388-1293). THE DEALER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE DEFECT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE DEFECT. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,000.
POWER STEERING QUIT WHILE IN A PARKING LOT. I STOPPED, SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE, AND IT RESET. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR AJAR LIGHT CONSTANTLY STAYS ON, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR IS SHUT. THIS WILL NOT ALLOW THE DOORS TO BE LOCKED, AND THE INTERIOR LIGHTS STAY ON UNTIL THE VEHICLE REACHES 15 MPH. IT HAS ALSO CAUSED THE LIGHTS TO STAY ON INSIDE THE CAR, DRAINING THE BATTERY.
THE SUNROOF/MOONROOF SHATTERED AND EXPLODED OUTWARD WHILE THE CAR WAS OPERATED AT ORDINARY SPEED ON AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. THE SUNROOF WAS NOT TOUCHED OR STRUCK IN ANY MANNER. IT WAS CLOSED, AND NOT IN MOTION (IT WAS NOT BEING RETRACTED, ETC.).
DOOR AJAR LIGHT COMES ON WHEN ALL DOORS ARE CLOSED. THIS OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR SOMETIMES WHILE IN MOTION. THIS KEEPS THE DOORS FROM BEING LOCKED WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. I'M TOLD BY FORD THIS IS A TSB (KNOWN ISSUE) BUT IS NOT A COVERED REPAIR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FLEX. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT COASTED TO A COMPLETE STOP AND THE VEHICLE RESTARTED NORMALLY. THE CONTACT DROVE HOME. THE VEHICLE DID NOT START AFTER APPROXIMATELY FOUR HOURS. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CONTROL MODULE NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,721.
2014 FORD FLEX HAS A FEW RECALLS; MY CAR DIDN'T GET THE NOTIFICATION BUT ARE EXPERIENCING RECALL PROBLEMS. MY CAR WON'T START DUE TO FUEL MODULE (FUEL PUMP) THAT HAS BEEN RECALLED. ONE THING WE ALSO COMPLAINED ABOUT IS GAS MILEAGE THE CAR LOST 20%-30% SINCE 2017. FORD MOTOR MANDATED US TO TAKE THE CAR TO THE FORD DEALER ONLY. FORD STATED THEY WOULD PAY ALL COSTS 9/19/19; I ALSO HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE LOCATION. NOW FORD MOTOR COMPANY STATED THEY WILL ONLY PAY A SMALL PORTION OF THE AMOUNT. THE DEALER HAS CONTACTED ME AND STATED THAT FORD MOTOR COMPANY WILL NOT PAY ANYTHING. THE PART HAS BEEN RECALLED ON OVER 75,000 2014 FORD FLEX. THE CAR IS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER AND THEY ARE PUTTING PRESSURE ON ME TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS. A REPAIR HAS NOT BEEN MADE. WE ALSO HAD PROBLEMS WITH DEFECTIVE BREAKS THAT ALSO HAVE RECALLS BUT SUPPOSEDLY OUR CAR WAS NOT AFFECTED BUT EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUES AS THE PEOPLE WHO RECEIVED RECALLS NOTICES FOR THEIR VEHICLE.
FRONT PASSENGER DOOR OPEN LIGHT WILL REMAIN ON, DESPITE BEING SECURED CLOSED CAUSING INTERIOR LIGHTS TO REMAIN ON UNTIL 10 MPH. THIS IS A PROBLEM WHEN REVERSING AT NIGHT. WE DON'T REVERSE ABOVE 10MPH AND IT IS DIFFICULT TO SEE. IT IS ALSO A PROBLEM DRIVING IN TRAFFIC AT NIGHT. WE ALSO WORRY THE LIGHT WILL DRAIN OUR BATTERY.
Rear camera view is inverted or not displayed when reversing. Unsafe to back vehicle due to this failure. Has not been diagnosed/repaired by a service center. Has not functioned properly for 7-8 years.

2014 FORD FLEX. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO POSSIBLE ENGINE FAILURE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE ENGINE EITHER SHUT OFF OR FAILED TO START. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED.*JS
AT A LOW SPEED ABRUPT STOP ON A SECONDARY ROW, THE SECOND ROW BENCH SEAT (IT'S SPLIT 60/40; THE 60 SIDE) CAME LOOSE FROM THE FLOOR ATTACHMENT, CAUSING A REAR FACING CAR SEAT TO HIT THE BACK OF THE FRONT SEAT. THIS WAS NOT A TETHER MALFUNCTION. IT IS A DEFECT IN THE ATTACHMENT BETWEEN THE BENCH SEAT ITSELF AND THE LOCKING MECHANISM ON THE FLOOR. AT THIS POINT I CANNOT SECURE THE SEAT BECAUSE OF THIS BROKEN PART. (THIS SEAT IS DESIGNED TO FOLD FORWARD FOR STORAGE/INGRESS-EGRESS FOR 3RD ROW SEAT PASSENGERS). FORD HAS TO DATE BEEN UNRESPONSIVE ALTHOUGH I BOUGHT A PREMIUM CARE WARRANTY THAT IS STILL ACTIVE. THEY ARE NOT ADDRESSING A CRITICAL SAFETY ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL DRIVE MODULE SHORTED OUT INTERNALLY AND THE FUEL PUMP FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FLEX. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE POWER SEIZED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE); HOWEVER, THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,500. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
IN MID 2015 PASSENGER REAR DOOR LIGHT KEPT COMING ON EVERY TIME I DROVE, WITH THE DASH LIGHT SAYING "DOOR AJAR" EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR WAS CLOSED COMPLETELY. THIS CAUSED CABIN LIGHTS TO STAY ON UNTIL REACHING 10 MPH, MAKING IT AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD TO DRIVE IN REVERSE IN THE DARK, BECAUSE YOU CANNOT SEE WHAT IS BEHIND YOU. ALSO CAUSED BATTERY TO RUN DOWN, DOOR CHIME RINGS CONSTANTLY WHILE DRIVING (EVERY TIME I APPLY THE BRAKES) AND CAUSED CAR ALARM TO GO OFF AT ANY HOUR, INCLUDING THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, CAUSING NEIGHBOR COMPLAINTS. FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASE THE CAR WOULD DO NOTHING, SAYING IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, SO I FINALLY PAID TO REPLACE THE FAULTY SENSOR AT THEODORE ROBBINS FORD IN COSTA MESA FOR $413.40 ON 10/5/2016. IN JANUARY 2017 THE SAME "DOOR AJAR" MESSAGE BEGAN APPEARING FOR THE DRIVER'S DOOR, EVERY TIME I DRIVE IT, CAUSING THE SAME PROBLEMS OF DOME LIGHTS ON, OBSCURING NIGHT VISION, CHIMES AND CAR ALARM GOING OFF. ON 4/13/17 THE BATTERY, WHICH HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED ONCE, IS DEAD, DUE TO BEING RUN DOWN BY THE FAULTY DOOR LATCH. THIS IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND I WOULD LIKE TO BE REIMBURSED FOR DOOR LATCH I REPLACED ON 10/6/16, AND FOR DRIVER'S DOOR LATCH THAT IS NOW FAILING, AND FOR A NEW BATTERY.
THE CAR WILL STALL WITHOUT WARNING. IT HAS BEEN RECALLED. FORD DOES NOT HAVE THE PART IN STOCK ACCORDING TO PARENT FORD MOTOR COMPANY. FORD MOTOR DOES NOT OFFER AN ALTERNATIVE VEHICLE FOR CUSTOMER. THIS PUTS THE BURDEN OF RISK ON THE CUSTOMER ON A KNOWN SAFETY PROBLEM. CAR STOPPED IN SCHOOL PARKING LOT CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH TRAFFIC IN AND OUT OF SCHOOL.
MY 2014 FORD FLEX SEL IS A LEASED VEHICLE WITH 14,000 MILES ON IT. I WENT TO HAVE THE OIL CHANGED AND THE TIRES ROTATED TODAY. THE FRONT TWO TIRES, WHICH ARE NOW ON THE BACK HAVE CHUNKS OF RUBBER FALLING OFF. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THE TIRES ARE IN "THE RED". I AM SUPPOSED TO TURN THIS CAR IN TO THE DEALERSHIP IN FEBRUARY OF 2017. I AM GOING BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT I LEASED THE CAR FROM TO SEE IF THEY CAN HELP ME, AS TIRES SHOULD LAST MORE THAN 14,000 MILES WITH NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FLEX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FAIRVIEW FORD (909-884-9261, LOCATED AT 292 N G ST, SAN BERNARDINO, CA 92410) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CHIPS WERE FRIED AND MELTED THE FUEL PUMP. THE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND OFFERED A 50 PERCENT DISCOUNT OFF THE REPAIR COST. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 64,000.
THE DRIVER DOOR AJAR SENSOR IS MALFUNCTIONING MAKING MY VEHICLE BELIEVE THAT THE DOOR IS OPEN ALL THE TIME. THIS CAUSES THE DOOR LOCKS ON ALL DOORS TO UNLOCK EVEN WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION.
OUR 2014 FORD FLEX INDICATES PASSENGER DOOR AJAR (RIGHT FRONT DOOR) ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, EVEN THOUGH THE DOOR APPEARS PROPERLY CLOSED. REPEATED ATTEMPTS (UP TO 50 OR MORE) ARE REQUIRED TO GET THE DOOR TO CLOSE WITH THE INDICATOR LIGHT TURNING OFF. ONCE THE DOOR IS CLOSED PROPERLY, WITH THE INDICATOR LIGHT OFF, THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT MAY TURN ON AGAIN WHILE THE CAR IS OFF AND NOT MOVING, CAUSING THE ALARM TO SOUND. IN ADDITION, WHILE DRIVING, THE PASSENGER DOOR AJAR LIGHT MAY SUDDENLY TURN ON, CAUSING THE NEED TO PULL OVER TO INSURE THE DOOR IS CLOSED PROPERLY. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON TURNS AND ON STRAIGHT ROADS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD, AS PARKING ALONG THE SIDE OF A HIGHWAY OR ROADWAY CAN CAUSE A DANGEROUS SITUATION NOT ONLY FOR THE PASSENGER RIDING IN THE FRONT SEAT BUT ALSO FOR ALL PASSENGERS IN THE CAR. WE ARE CONCERNED THAT AT SOME POINT THE DOOR LATCH MAY FAIL AND THE DOOR MAY OPEN WHILE MOVING. THIS ISSUE OCCURS EACH TIME THE DOOR IS OPENED AND INTERMITTENTLY WHILE MOVING OR PARKED. WE HAVE DISCUSSED THIS ISSUE WITH THE LOCAL FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT PRIOR TO THE SEPTEMBER EXPANSION OF THE DOOR LATCH RECALL AND THEY INDICATED THAT OUR VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED BY THE CURRENT RECALLS EVEN THOUGH THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS VERY AWARE OF THE PROBLEM OCCURRING. HIS INDICATION WAS THAT IT "MOSTLY HAPPENED ON THE DRIVER DOOR". WE BELIEVE THAT OUR VEHICLE SHOULD ALSO BE COVERED BY THE RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FLEX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SEAT BELTS WERE EASY FOR OTHER OCCUPANTS TO WRAP IN POSITIONS THAT COULD SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHILD OCCUPANTS WERE ABLE TO WRAP THE SEAT BELTS AROUND THEIR WAISTS AND, AFTER THE PRETENSIONER TIGHTENED, WRAPPED AROUND THE NECK ON ONE OF THE OCCUPANTS AND TIGHTENED TOO TIGHT AROUND THE WAIST OF THE OTHER. ONE OF THE SEAT BELTS HAD TO BE CUT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE NOT PROVIDED.
I'VE HAD MY FUEL PUMP REPLACED TWICE AND IT COST ME $970. $830 FOR FUEL PUMP AND $140 FOR BATTERY THAT DIED AS A RESULT OF THE FUEL PUMP ISSUE. I DON'T GET HOW MY CAR, WITH A REAL MALFUNCTION, NOT SOMETHING THAT "MAY" HAPPEN, ISN'T BEING INCLUDED IN THE FUEL PUMP RECALL. I WAS DRIVING WHEN IT HAPPENED. I COULD'VE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR MY CHILDREN. MY FUEL PUMP MALFUNCTIONED AND THE REPLACEMENT ONE THEY PUT IN ALSO MALFUNCTIONED. NOW, SINCE THEY'VE INSTALLED THE 2ND FUEL PUMP, MY CAR HAS AN OVERWHELMING SMELL OF GAS, WHICH APPEARS TO BE LEAKING FROM MY VEHICLE. ON 07/11, I HAD TO GET A SECOND REPLACEMENT PUMP, DUE TO THE FIRST ONE FAILING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FLEX. WHILE DRIVING AT A SLOW SPEED, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE HALFSHAFT DISENGAGED FROM THE LINKSHAFT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V393000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,100.
AN INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL CONNECTION IN THE STEERING GEAR DISABLES ELECTRIC POWER-STEERING ASSIST WHILE DRIVING, MAKING THE VEHICLE DIFFICULT TO CONTROL. RECEIVED A "STEERING ASSIST FAULT-SERVICE REQUIRED" WARNING. THIS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING N ABOUT 50 MPH ON I-95 IN JARRETT, VA. ON MAY 27, 2016. STOPPED, CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. WAS TOLD THE ONLY OPTION WAS A TOW. CLOSEST DEALER ALREADY CLOSED FOR LONG WEEKEND. ANOTHER DEALER AN HOUR AWAY SUGGESTED CYCLING CAR ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES. WE DID AND CAR WAS OK. TOOK CAR TO LOCAL DEALER IN HARDEEVILLE SC ON RETURN HOME- UNABLE TO REPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND SAID WE HAVE TO DRIVE CAR IN SPITE OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE - WHICH APPEARS IDENTICAL TO ONE THAT FORCED THE RECALL OF 2011 TO 2013 FORD FLEX'S.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FLEX. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE DOOR AND TRUNK AJAR WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHEN THE DOORS AND TRUNK WERE PROPERLY CLOSED. IN ADDITION, ALL THE DOORS FAILED TO REMAINED LOCKED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED CONSTANTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS INVALID. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
DRIVERS DOOR LATCH SWITCH IS DEFECTIVE.THE PART WAS REPLACED BY THE DEALER LAST YEAR BEFORE I PURCHASED THE CAR AND I HAD POINTED IT OUT TO THEM. BEFORE RECEIVING THE CAR. THE PROBLEM PURSISTES. I CAN NOT GET IT TOO CLOSE PROPERLY.WHEN I ENTER THE VEHICLE.I CAN CAUSE THE CAR TOO FLASH THE LIGHTS AND BEEP THE HORN AFTER IT IS PARKED AND I AM IN THE HOUSE. I LIVE IVE IN MPLS.,MN..IT IS WINTER HERE AND THIS PROBLEM COULD DRAIN THE BATTERY IN SHORT ORDER IN SUB ZERO WEATHER.I NEED A PERMANENT SOLUTION TO THIS DEFECT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DARLING'S FORD VOLKSWAGEN AUDI (403 HOGAN RD, BANGOR, ME 04401, (207) 941-1330) WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE SWAY BAR, CONTROL BAR BUSHING, AND STEERING RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS24223378. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
SHORTLY AFTER I PURCHASED MY FORD FLEX WE NOTICED A HORRIBLE EXHAUST SMELL INSIDE THE VEHICLE AS WE WERE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE WE BOUGHT IT TO BE LOOKED AT AND THEY DID SEVERAL THINGS AND TOLD ME THEY COULDN'T FIX IT AND DIDN'T KNOW HOW AND THAT THERE WERE SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS OF FLEXES THAT HAD THE SAME COMPLAINT BUT COULDN'T FIX EITHER. I CALLED THE FORD MANUFACTURER MYSELF AND THEY HAVE DIRECTED MANY THINGS TO BE DONE TO MY VEHICLE BY DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS, STILL NO RESULTS!!! MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP LONGER THAN I HAVE HAD IT IN MY POSSESSION. THERE ARE MANY OTHER THINGS WRONG WITH IT INCLUDING THE RADIO THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIX LIKE THE SCREEN PARTIALLY DISAPPEARING ETC.. ONE TIME WE WERE SITTING WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN BECAUSE IT WAS A NICE DAY WHILE ONE OF US RAN IN TO GET THE DRINK WE PAID FOR AND FORGOT AND THE FUMES WERE SOOO BAD WE HAD TO PUT THE WINDOWS UP AND DRIVE AROUND BEFORE I PASSED OUT. I TRIED TO LEMON LAW IT BUT IT WAS SOLD TO ME INCORRECTLY SO UNTIL I GET A LAWYER I'M STUCK WITH IT IN THE SHOP AGAIN WHILE THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY PRETENDS TO CARE!!!! NO, THERE WASN'T A FIRE (YET). BUT YOUR SYSTEM WOULDN'T ALLOW ME TO SEND THIS W/O PICKING ONE OF THE THREE INCIDENT OPTIONS. BAD RAW FUEL SMELL AFTER EVERY ENGINE SHUTOFF. CAR TAKEN TO FORD DEALER WHO TOLD US THERE WAS A TSB# 14-0091 FOR THIS ISSUE. NO PARTS AVAILABLE, AND THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE! WE ARE WORRIED THAT THE CAR IS GOING TO START ON FIRE! PLEASE HELP!
I WAS IN PARK IN MY DRIVEWAY, WHICH IS STEEP, AND THE FLEX ROLLED AFTER BEING IN PARK FOR 2 MINUTES. MY THREE YEAR OLD SON WAS IN THE VEHICLE SO I TRIED TO JUMP INTO THE VEHICLE AND PUT MY RIGHT HAND ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE VEHICLE KNOCKED ME OUT AND DRAGGED ME DOWN, RELEASING ME AT THE BOTTOM OF THE DRIVEWAY. I WOKE UP TO SEE THE VEHICLE BACK INTO THE OTHER SIDE OF MY U-SHAPED DRIVEWAY AND PROCEED FORWARD, HOPPING MY NEIGHBOR'S CURB, STOPPING IN THEIR BUSHES. MY SON WAS OKAY, BUT I SUSTAINED A BROKEN AND DISLOCATED RIGHT WRIST, AND MULTIPLE ROAD RASHES ON MY FEET, KNEES, RIGHT ARM, LEFT HAND REQUIRING SUTURES, RIGHT SIDE OF MY FACE AND A LACERATION IN MY SCALP REQUIRING SUTURES. THESE INJURIES WERE EXTREMELY PAINFUL AND I LOST THE USE OF BOTH HANDS FOR ONE MONTH. AT 8 WEEKS, I STILL DO NOT HAVE THE FULL USE OF MY LEFT THUMB AND I REQUIRE PHYSICAL THERAPY ON MY RIGHT WRIST AS IT IS STILL NOT BACK TO FULLY FUNCTIONING. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. I CONTACTED FORD WITH WRITTEN DOCUMENTATION AND PHOTOS OF MY INJURIES AND FORD DID NOT EVEN OFFER ANY FORM OF SYMPATHY OR RESOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. THEY DENIED MY CLAIM AND OFFERED NO HELP! IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO GET OUT OF ANY VEHICLE ON OUR DRIVEWAY IN ANY GEAR OTHER THAT PARK. I'M TELLING THE TRUTH AND PHYSICS ARE PROOF ENOUGH. THOUGH NOTHING MECHANICALLY DEFECTIVE WAS FOUND BY FORD, IT HAPPENED, PERIOD. I WAS INJURED BUT LUCKY THAT NEITHER MY SON NOR OTHERS WERE HURT. I DID NOTHING TO CAUSE THIS; IT WAS A FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE SOMEHOW BUT FORD STATED THAT SINCE THEY COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM, THEY'RE DENYING MY CLAIM.

I WENT TO THE LOCAL KFC FOR DINNER DURING MY LUNCH BREAK AND WHEN I CAME BACK TO MY VEHICLE AFTER GETTING MY FOOD INSIDE I STARTED MY CAR AND PROCEEDED TO PUT IT IN REVERSE. AS SOON AS I PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE IT PROCEEDED TO GO FORWARD INSTEAD. SO I CHECKED TO MAKE SURE I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND PUT THE VEHICLE BACK IN PARK AND THEN RE-ENGAGED REVERSE AND IT WENT FORWARD AGAIN. THIS TIME THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY ADVISED ME TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN TO SEE IF THAT FIXED THE ISSUE. THEY DID NOT ADVISE ME TO DO A VEHICLE HISTORY REPORT THAT IS EQUIPPED WITH MY VEHICLE TO SEE IF THE COMPUTER COULD FIND SOMETHING. THE SERVICE ADVISER AT THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED ME THAT HE NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE BEFORE AND FOR ME TO WATCH IT AND IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN TO CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND HAVE IT TOWED IN SINCE THAT IS A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
MY PREGNANT WIFE WAS PUTTING OUR 20 MONTH OLD SON IN VEHICLE. SHE PLACED HER PURSE WITH THE KEYLESS ENTRY FOB INTO CAR AND CLOSED THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR. SHE FOUND THE VEHICLE NOW ENTIRELY LOCKED AT ALL DOORS AND WOULD NOT OPEN DESPITE THE KEY FOB BEING INSIDE THE VEHICLE. IT IS BELOW FREEZING OUTSIDE AND OUR SON IS NOW LOCKED INTO THE CAR AND GETTING COLDER. MY WIFE CALLED ME. I HAD HER CALL 911. I CALLED FORD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND EXPLAINED THE EMERGENCY WE HAD. FORD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY COULD DO AND SUGGESTED I CALL SYNC. I THEN CALLED SYNC AND THEY TOLD ME THERE'S NOTHING THEY CAN DO AND TO CALL ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. I CALLED ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE BACK AND THEY WERE EVEN MORE RUDE THIS TIME AND TOLD ME THERE'S NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE. I EXPLAINED TO EACH CONTACT THERE WAS A TODDLER LOCKED IN A VEHICLE. WE FINALLY CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY SIMPLY GAVE US A 5 DIGIT CODE TO ENTER INTO THE KEYPAD ON THE VEHICLE AFTER VERIFYING SOME INFORMATION. I FIND THIS EXTREMELY TROUBLING AND CONCERNING FORD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND FORD SYNC DID NOT HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE TO DIRECT US OR AN ABILITY TO PROVIDE THE MANUFACTURER ASSIGNED 5 DIGIT KEYPAD CODE FOR ENTERING THE VEHICLE. NOT TO MENTION THEY WERE NOT CONCERNED WITH THE SEVERITY OF THE SITUATION ONE BIT. THE OUTCOME OF THIS ISSUE COULD HAVE RESULTED QUITE WORSE THAN IT DID. AN INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO BE PERFORMED ON PROCEDURES FORD ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND FORD SYNC EMPLOYEES ARE TO FOLLOW IN LIFE THREATENING SITUATIONS INVOLVING WOMEN AND CHILDREN WITH THEIR VEHICLES, SPECIFICALLY WHEN INFANTS/TODDLERS AND CHILDREN ARE LOCKED INSIDE FORD VEHICLES. AT THIS POINT WE CAN ONLY ASSUME THE VEHICLE HAS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WHICH RESULTED IN ALL DOORS AND HATCHES LOCKING WHILE THE KEYLESS FOB WAS INSIDE THE VEHICLE. *JS

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THERE WAS NO TRACE OF CARBON MONOXIDE IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60.
A COUPLE MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY VEHICLE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I LOST POWER TO SOME OF THE COMPUTER SYSTEMS, I CALLED THE DEALER SHIP AND TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM, MY FATHER HAD ALREADY PLUG HIS OBD READER INTO THE CAR AND SO I WAS ABLE TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT THE CODE HAD COME UP ON THE READER. WHEN I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER SHIP THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH BROKEN WIRES.

AS WE WERE TRAVELING DOWN THIS ROAD, WITH NO TRAFFIC COMING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION, OR IN FRONT OF US, WE HEARD A SHOTGUN SOUND COME FROM ABOVE OUR HEADS AND GLASS FLEW EVERYWHERE IN OUR VEHICLE, INCLUDING IN THE BACK WHERE OUR 5-YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WAS SITTING. OUR SUNROOF AND LITERALLY EXPLODED!!!! WE CLOSED THE SUNSHADE AND IMMEDIATELY TRAVELED TO THE LOCAL DEALER WHERE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. MY THINK AT FIRST WAS THAT SOMETHING HIS THE GLASS, BUT YET NOTHING WAS AROUND US THAT COULD HAVE THROWN ANYTHING ONTO THE GLASS TO BREAK IT. WHEN WE ARRIVED AT THE DEALERSHIP, WE EXITED THE CAR AND WHEN I LOOKED AT THE HUGE HOLE IN THE SUNROOF, ALL OF THE GLASS SURROUNDING THE HOLD WAS POINTING UPWARDS AS IF THE GLASS HAD LITERALLY EXPLODED UPWARD, NOT DOWN INTO THE CAR. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF ANYTHING LIKE THIS HAPPENING, AND LUCKILY MY WIFE WAS UNDER CONTROL ENOUGH WHEN IT HAPPENED THAT SHE DIDN'T SWERVE OFF OF THE ROAD. AFTER THE DEALERSHIP SUBMITTED DETAILS OF THIS INCIDENT TO FORD, THEY REJECTED TO DO ANYTHING TO TAKE CARE OF THIS REPAIR FOR US. I HAVE SINCE HAD TO FILE A CLAIM WITH MY INSURANCE TO GET IT FIXED, AND HAVE BEEN CONTACTING FORD EXECUTIVES ON A DAILY BASIS, AND CONTACTING MEDIA SOURCES, TO GET ATTENTION TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE FOUND SEVERAL OTHER CASES THAT STRETCH BACK TO AS FAR BACK AS 2008 SO FAR, WITH A DESCRIPTION ALMOST IDENTICAL TO OURS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO HAVE ATTENTION BROUGHT TO BEFORE SOMEBODY GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED OR DIES. *TR

I REQUESTED LOCAL FORD DEALERS INSPECT POWERTRAIN SYSTEM AS A CAR IN PARK SHOULD NOT SUDDENLY BEGIN ROLLING. 2 LOCAL DEALERS HAVE REFUSED TO LOOK AT VEHICLE CITING THEY DO NOT WANT TO GET INVOLVED. *TR
I LOADED TWO BOXES IN THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE AND CLOSED THE BACK HATCH DOOR. THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW EXPLODED FROM THE VIBRATION CAUSED BY CLOSING THE BACK HATCH DOOR. COULD HAVE BEEN A SAFETY ISSUE IF SOMEONE HAD BEEN NEAR THE GLASS. IF IT HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY, COULD HAVE BEEN A DISTRACTION. FORD HAS DENIED ANY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE GLASS EXPLODING. *TR
I WAS TRAVELING 70 MPH ON A TOLL WAY IN BUSY MORNING TRAFFIC. WITHOUT ANY WARNING THE VEHICLE LOST ENGINE POWER. PRESSING THE GAS GAVE NO ACCELERATION AND NO POWER TO MOVE THE CAR. THANKFULLY I WAS IN THE LEFT LANE AND HAD ENOUGH MOMENTUM TO GET TO THE LEFT SHOULDER. AT THIS POINT A WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON SAYING CHECK MANUAL. THE CAR WAS UNDER NO POWER OF ITS OWN IN 70 MPH TRAFFIC. VERY DANGEROUS! SAT ON THE LEFT SHOULD OF THE SPEEDING TOLL ROAD UNTIL A TOW TRUCK ARRIVED AND TOOK IT TO THE NEAREST DEALERSHIP. THEY RAN DIAGNOSTICS AND WERE VERY SURPRISED AND PERPLEXED WHY A 2014 ENGINE SEIZED UP. ISSUED A RENTAL CAR FOR AN INDEFINITE TIME AND SAID THE ENGINE WILL BE TAKEN COMPLETELY A PART AS THEY TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WENT WRONG. THEY SAID THEY WILL WORK WITH FORD ON A SOLUTION WHETHER TO REBUILD THE ENGINE OR PUT A NEW ONE IN. THIS IS A 2014 ENGINE! I THINK THEY KNOW THERE IS A BIG PROBLEM WITH THE CAR. I CERTAINLY HAVE LOST CONFIDENCE IN IT. IT FAILED ME AT 70MPH IN TRAFFIC. *JS
