WHILE AT A STOP WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE, CONSUMER STATED THAT BRAKE PEDAL SUDDENLY WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE CONSUMERS VEHICLE HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. UPON INSPECTION THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT BRAKE FLUID WAS ALL OVER THE GROUND. *TS *NLM
CONSUMER STATES WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE ENGINE HESITATES. TS
I OWN A 2001 FORD FOCUS. PROBLEMS STARTED ONE MONTH AFTER PURCHASE. WINDOW WIPER MOTOR BLEW BUT WAS UNDER WARRENTY. THEN AFTER WARRENTY EXPIRED EVERYTHING STARTED TO GO WRONG. TRUNK HOOD WOULD NOT LATCH CLOSED, THEN DOOR LATCHES STARTED TO STICK , THEN HAD TO CLIMB INTO PASSENGER SEAT TO OPEN DRIVERS SIDE DOOR BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT UNLOCK AND DOOR HANDLE PLAYS GAMES AND OPENS DOOR WHEN IT WANTS TO. FUEL PUMP HAD A RECALL, THANK GOD BECAUSE I KEPT STALLING ON HIGHWAY. THEN WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK THE BACK PASSENGER SIDE DOOR FLEW OPEN ON HIGHWAY, ALMOST CAUSED ACCIDENT. THEN ENGINE BLEW WITH ONLY 123,000 MILES ON IT. I HAVE ALL OIL CHANGE RECORDS TO PROVE ENGINE OIL WAS CHANGED EVERY 3,000 MILES GIVE OR TAKE 20. ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED AND THAT LEFT ME WITHOUT A CAR FOR A WEEK. PAID $1900 FOR AN ENGINE FROM A TOTALED FOCUS. CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND THEY TOLD ME TO HOLD MY ENGINE RECEIPT SO THAT WHEN AND IF THEY GET ANY COMPLAINTS MAYBE IN 2 YEARS OR SO I'LL GET A REFUND. TOTAL MONEY THAT I HAVE PUT IN CAR IS OVER $4,000.00 AND IT'S STILL NOT PAID OFF YET. NOW I NEED A NEW FRONT AXLE BECAUSE THAT IS GOING BAD. WHY CAN'T FORD HELP ME WHEN I HAVE QUESTIONS AND WHY IS IT WHEN I GO TO A DEALER AND THEY CAN'T HELP AND THEN I CALL COMPANY ITSELF THEY GO AND CALL DEALER I WENT TO AND THEY GO BY WHAT DEALER MECHANIC SAYS AND NOT CUSTOMER. I JUST HOPE I DONT GET THE RUN - AROUND TREATMENT.. VEHICLE WAS TAKING TO DEALER FOR A RECALL REPAIRS ON WHEEL BEARINGS. UPON RECEIVING VEHICLE BACK THERES WAS A NOISE IN THE REAR. TOOK VEHICLE BACK TO DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT TIRES WERE CUPPING AND WEARING IRREGULARLY. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.*AK
ACCELERATOR GOT STUCK, AND THE VEHICLE STARTED TO SPEED UP WHICH CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. CONTACTED DEALER. *AK
THE FIRST THING THAT I NOTICED WITH MY CAR WAS THE STALLING OF THE ENGINE WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THE NEXT THING THAT HAPPENED WAS THE CAR WOULD SHAKE VIOLENTLY WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF 50-55 MPH. AT 12036 MILES, I TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP AND WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT THE REPAIRS WOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THEY TOLD ME CAR NEEDED AN ALIGNMENT. IT ALSO NEED THE ROTORS TURNED AND THE TIRES ROTATED BECAUSE AT 12000 MILES THEY WERE STARTING TO WEAR. THEY GAVE ME A BILL FOR $101 THEY STATED THESE ITEMS WERE "WEAR" ITEMS AND WERE MY RESPONSIBILITY. I QUESTIONED WHY THIS WAS HAPPENING AT 12000 MILES. HE TRIED TO PUT THE BLAME OFF ON ME SAYING I BRAKE TOO HARD. YOU KNOW THAT IS REALLY FUNNY SINCE I HAVE A 1995 FORD ESCORT. I BOUGHT IT NEW. IT NOW HAS 170,000 MILES. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE ESCORT. THE REASON I BOUGHT ANOTHER FORD WAS BECAUSE I WAS SO PLEASED WITH THE PERFORMANCE OF THE ESCORT. ABOUT THE STALLING, THEY SAID THEY PUT IT ON THE COMPUTER AND COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH IT. BUT THEY WENT AHEAD AND REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS. WELL, ABOUT A MONTH AGO, I BEGAN TO NOTICE THE SHAKING AGAIN. THEN ABOUT A WEEK AFTER THE SHAKING BEGAN, I HAD A FLAT. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP. THEY TOLD ME THE NEW TIRE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I HAD THE ONE TIRE REPLACED AT MY EXPENSE. THE TIRE BUSINESS TOLD ME THE TIRE WAS SO WORE ON THE INSIDE (WHERE YOU CAN'T SEE) THAT THE WIRES WERE SHOWING. ABOUT 2 WEEKS AFTER THIS INCIDENT, I HAD ANOTHER FLAT. SAME THING. THE TIRE WAS SO WORE THE WIRES WERE SHOWING. I HAD TO HAVE ALL FOUR TIRES REPLACED. $300.00. THE CAR IS STILL STALLING. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR. I AM AFRAID THE CAR WILL STALL IN TRAFFIC WHILE I HAVE MY TWO YEAR OLD CHILD IN THE CAR. I HAVE COMPLAINED TO FORD AND THEY CONTINUE TO SAY THESE THINGS ARE MY RESPONSIBILITY. MY NEW 2001 VEHICLE IN LESS THAN A YEAR STARTED MAKING CLUCKING NOISE LOUD VIBRATION. THE COMPLETE AXLE SHAFT HAD TO BE REPLACED AND NEW TIRES THE BEARINGS FAILED AND FORD WOULD NOT HELP. EVEN THOUGH IT USUALLY TAKES SIX YEARS BEFORE THEY GO THEY CONFIRMED THE BEARINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I SPENT OVER 300.00 DOLLARS WITH ANOTHER MECHANIC WHO SAID THEY SHOULD PAY.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN PARKWAY 70 MPH DRIVER SWERVED TO MISS AN ANIMAL ON ROAD. THEN, LOST CONTROL, LEAVING THE ROAD INTO A DITCH, AND STRIKING TREE AGAINST PASSENGER'S SIDE. DRIVER'S AIR BAG DEPLOYED, AND HEAT BURNED DRIVER ON WRIS,T MELTING A BRACELET TO ARM. PLEASE DESCRIBE DETAILS. *AK
MY DAUGHTER WAS IN A FENDER BENDER. SHE WAS BEHIND SOMEONE AT AN INTERSECTION. THEY WERE BOTH TURNING RIGHT. THE PERSON BEFORE HER PROCEEDED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. MY DAUGHTER LOOKED TO HER LEFT FOR VEHICLES AND STARTED THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER STOPPED AND SHE REAR ENDED IT. THERE WAS NO DAMAGE DONE TO THE OTHER VEHICLE AND HER FOCUS HAS A SMALL DENT IN THE FRONT FENDER. THE DAMAGE CAME FROM THE FACT THAT THE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND BLEW OUT THE WINDSHIELD. IF MY DAUGHTER HAD NOT BEEN WEARING GLASSES, SHE MAY HAVE RECEIVED AN EYE INJURY FROM THE SHATTERED GLASS. THE DEALER CLAIMS THAT THE AIRBAGS SHOULD DEPLOY AT THAT LOW OF A SPEED AND IT IS EXPECTED TO BLOW OUT THE WINDSHIELD.*AK

MY BRAKES STARTED GRINDING AT 25000 MILES AND I NEEDED NEW PADS AND ROTORS, THIS SHOULDN'T HAPPEN TO A CAR WITH THAT LOW OF A MILEAGE, I HAD A FORD ESCORT WHICH I WOULD STILL DRIVE HAD I NOT BEEN REARENDED THAT I NEVER NEEDED TO REPLACE THE BRAKES ON AND IT HAD 140,000 MILES WHEN I WAS HIT. THE BRAKES STARTED GRINDING AND AFTER TAKING IT TO THE DEALER, THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE BOTH FRONT ROTORS AS WELL AS THE BRAKE PADS. I ALSO HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE FIRESTONE TIRES THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD WITH, THEY WERE SO UNEVEN AND WARPED THAT THEY CAUSED THE ENTIRE CAR TO SHAKE ABOUT A MONTH AFTER I BOUGHT IT THAT STARTED. IT REALLY IS RIDICOUOUS, I PAY MORE FOR REPARIS IN A MONTH THAN I DO FOR A CAR PAYMENT. *AK

APPLE FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT INSPECTED MY BRAKES AND TOLD ME THAT THE REAR BRAKE ROTORS WERE SHOT AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ALSO TOLD ME ALL THE BRAKE PADS, FRONT AND REAR, HAD TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE NEVER HAD A NEW CAR WHOSE REAR BRAKE ROTORS FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEN, THE NOISE AND THE CAR STILL DID NOT FEEL RIGHT. I TOOK IT BACK TO FORD AND THE RIM IS BENT. REPLACED THAT. SO FAR I AM OUT 250.00 FOR THE TIRE AND 298.00 FOR THE RIM/. THE PROBLEM CONTINUED, BUT BY 15000 MILES THE CAR WAS JUMPING, FRONT END PROBLEMS. HAD THE TIRES ROTATED AND THE CAR LINED UP AGAIN. I HAVE THE PROBLEMS STILL. THIS RECALL STATED PINCH BOLT THAT RETAINS THE STEERING KNUCKLE TO THE LOWER BALL JOINT ON YOUR VEHICLE MAY NOT HAVE THE PROPER TORQUE. ****** ( THIS CONDITION EXISTS, YOUR VEHICLE MAY EXPERIENCE VIBRATION OR NOISE... WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKES THERE WAS A SQUEAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT/REAR OF THE VEHICLE. THE PEDAL HAD GONE DOWN AND MADE A SQUEAK NOISE. *AK THE FRONT END BOUNCED AND VIBRATED DUE TO THE PINCH BOLT THAT RETAINED THE STEERING KNUCKLED TO THE LOWER BALL JOINT. (MAY NOT HAVE THE PROPER TORQUE) THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT END AND REAR. THE WHEEL WAS REPLACED, THE FLAT TIRE WAS BALANCED AND THE BEAM WORKED OKAY. THE VEHICLE MADE NOISE WHEN RELEASED FROM PARK MODE, STOP, AND WAS INTERMITTENT. (HAS BEEN ADJUST 3-4 TIMES BUT WOULD GO BACK TO THE SAME THING) *SCC *JB

ON 08/05/02, ENGINE ACCELERATED WITHOUT WARNING AGAIN. VEHICLE TAKEN BACK TO DEALER, WHO INSTALLED A FLT RECORDER IN CAR TO DETECT WHERE PROBLEM EXISTED.
