TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FOCUS. THE VEHICLE HAS PIRELLI P6 TIRES, SIZE P205/50/R16. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SEATS BEGAN VIBRATING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT BOTH REAR TIRES WERE CUFFING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE TIRES WERE NOT REPLACED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 20000.
I WENT AND GOT NEW TIRES AND ALIGNMENT IN SEP.2009 AND WITHIN 10000 MILES ON 03-06-10 MY TIRES WERE CHOPPED ON THE INSIDE THE DEALER WERE I HAD GOT MY CAR FROM HAD TOLD ME THAT IT WAS CAUSED BY THE ALIGNMENT SO I WENT BACK WERE I GOT THE TIRES DONE THEY HAD TOLD ME IT WAS MY STRUTS THEY WENT AHEAD AN PUT NEW TIRES ON AND I WENT TO FORD GARAGE IN CRESTON NOT WERE I GOT THE CAR THEY HAD CHECK MY STRUTS THEY SAID THEY WERE OK I HAD THEM REDONE THE ALIGNMENT TWO DAYS AFTER THE NEW TIRES WERE PUT ON AND SO I PAID FOR TWO ALIGNMENT AND AFTER 5000 MILES MY TIRES WERE CHOPPED ON THE INSIDE THE DEALER IN CRESTON GOT A HOLD OF FORD MOTORS TO SEE WHAT THE DEAL WAS AND INSPECT EVERYTHING AND HAD TO SET MY ALIGNMENT AT DIFFERENT SETTING AND THEN MY CAR STARTED MAKING SQUEAKING NOISES THEY ENDING UP CHANGING MY BACK STRUTS AND THEN MY TIRES GOT WORSE AND MY CAR IS STILL MAKING THE NOISES AND I TOLD THEM THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE TO REPLACE MY TIRES AND THEY WONT AND NOW THEY WONT EVENING LOOK AT MY CAR AND DIDN'T"T EVENING FIX THE CAR AND HAD IT ALL DAY FOR AT LEAST SIX HOURS AND TOLD ME TO TAKE IT WERE I GOT THE CAR FORM WHICH I LIVE 100 MILES AND FROM THEIR. THROUGH OUT THIS HOLE TIME THEY HAD TOLD ME THAT IT"S AS BE A PROBLEM ON MOST 2008 AND 2009 MODELS THE CHOPPED THEY ARE TELLING ME IT"S THE BRAND THAT I WENT WITH. *TR
THE VEHICLE HAS HAD THE REAR WHEELS MISALIGNED SINCE NEW PURCHASE. DEALERSHIP HAS NEVER OMITTED THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE VEHICLE AND CONTINUES TO INSIST IT IS A TIRE ISSUE. THE MISALIGNED WHEEL CAUSES MULTIPLE FLAT SPOTTING AND EXCESSIVE WEAR ON TIRES, WHICH LEADS TO HEAVY VIBRATION AND NOISE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN CALIFORNIA RESULTING FROM THIS PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FOCUS. OCCASIONALLY WHEN THE CONTACT WOULD PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO THE PARK, THE VEHICLE WOULD CONTINUE MOVING FORWARD AS IF IT WAS NOT IN GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPRODUCED. THE CONTACT NOTICED PREVIOUSLY THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WOULD NOT STOP THE VEHICLE FROM MOVING WHENEVER THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 29000.
I HAVE A 2008 FORD FOCUS, I HAVE REPLACE THE TIRES ON IT 3 TIMES ALREADY DUE TO WEAR THERE IS ONLY 37,000 MILES ON MY CAR. I HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE RUN AROUND FROM THE FORD DEALER THERE IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH THE SUSPENSION ON THESE CARS AND ITS GONING TO CAUSE SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR EVEN DEATH WHEN THESE CARS START TO FAIL EXPECIALLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I AM ON MY FOURTH SET OF TIRES AND THEY WILL SOON NEED TO BE REPLACED. I AM ALSO HEARING A SQUEAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE RIGHT REAR WHEEL WELL. I BELIEVE IT IS ALSO THE SUSPENSION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED AS SHE WAS DRIVING SOMEONE REAR ENDED HER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AND THE SEAT BELT DID NOT HUGGED HER TIGHT ENOUGH. THE CONTACT HIT HER HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND WAS DRIVEN TO THE HOSPITAL BECAUSE SHE RECEIVED A CUT ABOVE HER EYE AND HAD TO HAVE STITCHES. THERE IS A POLICE REPORT IF NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE CONTACT STATED SHE INFORMED THE DEALER BUT HAD NOT CALLED THE FORD MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000. MANUAL DOOR LATCHES ON 4-DOOR, KEY ENTRY. USE OF KEY TO GAIN ENTRY ON BOTH FRONT DOORS BEGAN A GRADUAL FAILURE. HAD TO WORK THE KEY, APPLY PRESSURE TO THE DOORS, ETC, UNTIL BOTH LOCKS FAILED TO OPEN WITH KEY. TWICE HAD PUT CHILDREN IN THE CAR, ACCIDENTALLY LOCKED DOORS, THEN UNABLE TO OPEN DOORS WITH KEYS. FORD SAYS IT ISN'T COVERED BY WARRANTY, ALTHOUGHT THE PROBLEMS FIRST STARTED APPEARING WHEN THE CAR WAS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD. FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS, HAD TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE UNLOCKED. EVENTUALLY HAD AN AUTO BODY MAN DISASSMBLE THE DOORS, LUBE THE LATHES, AND THE WORK AGAIN, ALTHOUGHT THEY ARE STARTING TO WORK INTERMITTENTLY AGAIN. NEW LATCHES ARE $120 TO $160 EACH IF YOU CAN FIND THEM. *TR
RANDOMLY THE BACK DOORS WILL NOT OPEN. THEY WILL REMAIN IN THE "LOCKED" SETTING. THEY WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE OR INSIDE. UNABLE TO MANUALLY UNLOCK/OPEN EITHER DOOR. SOMETIMES BOTH DO THIS SIMULTANEOUSLY AND OTHER TIMES IT WILL BE ONE OR THE OTHER. I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW AND THIS STARTED HAPPENING A FEW YEARS LATER. IT WAS SELDOM IN THE BEGINNING BUT NOW IT IS ALMOST ALWAYS THAT ONE OR BOTH DOORS WILL NOT OPEN. IF I CARRIED BACK SEAT PASSENGERS OFTEN THIS WOULD BE A MAJOR PROBLEM AS THIS IS A SMALL CAR AND VERY LITTLE ROOM AVAILABLE TO CRAWL IN/OUT FROM FRONT SEAT. THIS COULD EASILY TURN INTO AN EMERGENCY SITUATION ON A HOT DAY AND A LARGE PERSON LOCKED INSIDE UNABLE TO GET OUT. A WHILE BACK THE FRONT DOOR HANDLE ALSO BEGAN STICKING. THE DOOR UNLOCKS BUT THE HANDLE DOESN'T ALWAYS FEEL LIKE IT RELEASES ALL THE WAY TO ALLOW THE DOOR TO OPEN. THEN WHEN IT DOES OPEN, SOMETIMES THE HANDLE HAS TO BE MANUALLY PUSHED BACK INTO THE DOOR BEFORE THE DOOR WILL LATCH. *TR
THE CAR SUSPENSION IS EASILY UNALIGNED AND CAUSES THE CAR TO GO THROUGH TIRES AT AN ALARMINGLY ABOVE AVERAGE RATE. 30,000+ MILE TIRES DO NOT MAKE IT 20,000 WITHOUT SEVERE DAMAGE AND WEAR. AFTER OWNING THE CAR AND TAKING IT TO MANY DIFFERENT SHOPS THE RESULTS ARE ALWAYS THE SAME THAT MY CARS SUSPENSION IS NOT CORRECT. I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 5 SETS OF SWAY BAR LINKS AND AT LEAST 8+ SETS OF TIRES IN THE 100,000 MILES I HAVE DROVE THE CAR. I HAVE RECEIPTS FOR 90% OF MY PURCHASES FOR REPAIRS, PARTS, AND SERVICE THAT ALL RELATE BACK TO THE CARS SUSPENSION NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY AND WEARING ABNORMALLY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FOCUS SE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 TO 55 MPH, THE POWER STEERING SEIZED AND HE WAS UNABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY INFORMED HIM THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP AND RESERVOIR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
MY TIRES WILL NOT LAST OVER 1000 TO 2000 MILES WITHOUT STARTING TO WHINE FROM CUFFING ON THE EDGES. FORD DID NOT PROVIDE ANY CHAMBER ADJUSTMENT IN FRONT OR BACK AND THE CAR WEARS OUT TIRES VERY QUICKLY. I HAVE A LITTLE OVER 61,000 MILES ON MY 2008 AND AM ON MY FIFTH SET OF TIRES. I HAVE ADDED REPLACEMENT ARMS TO THE REAR FOR CAMBER ADJUSTMENT AND CAMBER PLATES TO THE FRONT. DEALER AT FIRST TOLD ME TO ROTATE MY TIRES MORE OFTEN AND THEN ADMITTED THAT THE FOCUS MODEL HAS A PROBLEM WITH EATING TIRES. CONTACTED FORD TO NO AVAIL. *KB
I JUST HIT THE 100,000 MILE MARK ON MY 2008 FOCUS, I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW, AFTER A LITTLE OVER A YEAR AT 20,000 MILES I HAD TO REPLACE MY TIRES, MY CAR WAS SHAKING REALLY BAD AND MAKING ALOT OF ROAD NOISE. THEN AT 84,000 MILES I HAD TO PUT ON MY 4TH SET OF TIRES. MY MILES ARE ALL HIGHWAY MILES, I ROTATE EVERY 6000 MILES, THEY ALWAYS TELL ME THE ALIGNMENT IS WITHIN FACTORY SETTINGS. THEN AT 98000 MILES MY CAR STARTED DOING IT AGAIN, THEY SAID MY REAR TIRES ARE BAD, THEY BLAMED IT ON A BAD TRAILING ARM AND THEY HAD TO RESET MY CHANBER TOES IN THE REAR END, AGAIN, THEY SAID MY ALIGNMENT IS FINE. ALL OF THIS WAS DONE AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP THAT I ORIGINALLY PURCHASED THE CAR. SO NOW AT 100,000 MILES, I AM GETTING READY TO PUT ON MY 5TH SET OF TIRES. THIS IS INSANE. I'M AFRAID AT SOME POINT SOMEBODY IS GOING TO HAVE A TIRE BLOWOUT OR SOMETHING AND SOMEBODY IS GOING TO GET HURT. PLEASE HELP TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. *TR
HAVING PROBLEMS WITH TIRES CUPPING. HAD IT REALIGNED AROUND 20,000 MILES BECAUSE FORD ONLY COVERS WHEEL ALIGNMENT UP TO 12,000 MILES. I PURCHASED NEW TIRES AROUND 35,000 MILES, HAD IT REALIGNED AGAIN AROUND 36,000 MILES. I TOOK THE CAR IN TO COSTCO WHERE I BOUGHT THE NEW BRIDGESTONE TIRES FOR TIRE ROTATION AND THEY SAID THE TIRES WERE CUPPING !! SAME PROBLEM, ALIGNMENT DON'T HELP. AFTER RESEARCHING ON THE INTERNET, I SEE MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE FORD FOCUS. *TR
MY WIFE TOOK OUR 2008 FORD FOCUS IN FOR A ROUTINE OIL CHANGE AND TIRE ROTATION. THE DEALER STATED THEY COULD NOT ROTATE THE TIRES BECAUSE THE REAR TIRES WERE BAD. THE "CORDS" IN THE REAR TIRES HAD BROKEN INSIDE THE TIRE AND NOW THEY ARE OUT OF ROUND. THEY SAID THEY ARE NOT UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE THE DEALER DID NOT HAVE RECORD OF ROTATING THE WHEELS (BECAUSE I HAD DONE IT AT HOME FOR FREE). I HAVE BEEN ON MANY INTERNET TIRE WEB SITES AND THE PIRELLI TIRES ARE KNOWN FOR THIS HAPPENING ON SMALLER VEHICLES. *TR
THERE IS A THROTTLE BODY ISSUE WITH 08 AND NEW FORD FOCUS. THE THROTTLE BODY DEFECT, LEANS THE FUEL MIXTURE CAUSING THE CAR TO LOOSE ALL POWER, BUT IDOLS KEEPING YOUR POWER STEERING AND BRAKES. YOU THEN HAVE TO PULL OVER, TURN THE CAR OFF AND RESTART CAR ONLY TO HAPPEN EVERY 50 MILES OR SO, DEPENDING ON A/C, SPEED, ROAD GRADES. FORD DEALER IN KINGMAN ADMITTED LOTS OF FOCUS HAVE BEEN COMING IN WITH SAME ISSUE. HOWEVER, DESPITE THE WRENCH LIGHTING COMING UP ON THE DASH THERE WAS NO CODES FOR THE DEALER TO FIX THE CAR. AFTER THE 7TH TIME OF THE POWER LOSS AND WRENCH, WE LEFT THE CAR RUNNING ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TO TAKE VIDEO, AND A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FINALLY CAME ON. WHICH ALLOWED THE DEALER IN ALBUQUERQUE, NM TO IMMEDIATELY REPLACE THE THROTTLE BODY. THIS ISSUE IS VERY DANGEROUS AS AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS YOU LOOSE ALL OR 90 PERCENT POWER AND HAVE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. BASED ON THE DEALERS COMMENTS IT APPEARS A RECALL SHOULD HAPPEN ON THE THROTTLE BODY ISSUE. *TR
2008 FORD FOCUS AIRBAGS NOT DEPLOYING AFTER ACCIDENT GOING 65 MPH. *TR
CONCERNING A '08 FOCUS, 4 DOOR SE. CAR IS APPROXIMATELY 18MONTHS OLD AND HAS COVERED 38,000 APPROX.. REAR PASSENGER DOOR FAILED TO OPEN. WHEN USING POWER LOCKS, THE DOOR BUTTON WOULD FAIL TO MOVE. ON A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS (LUCKY) THE DOOR COULD BE OPENED. THEN THE SAME HAPPENED TO THE OTHER REAR DOOR. SO NOW BOTH REAR DOORS WERE INOPERABLE. CAR WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL MONTANA FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE THE PROBLEM WAS EXPLAINED. CAR WAS KEPT IN SHOP FOR FOUR DAYS WHILST BITS WERE ORDERED, AND PROBLEM RECTIFIED. WAS CHARGED $100 AND TOLD THIS WASN'T COVERED BY THE WARRANTY (ALTHOUGH A RENTAL CAR WAS PROVIDED FOR THIS PERIOD). IN HINDSIGHT I SHOULD HAVE CHECKED BOTH DOORS, AS LATER I FOUND OUT THAT THE OTHER DOOR HADN'T BEEN FIXED. CAR NOW HAS TO GO INTO SHOP FOR FURTHER RECTIFICATION. I REALIZE THAT IN '05 FORD RECALLED APPROX 359,000 01-02 FOCUS FOR THIS PROBLEM, AND HAVE HAD TROUBLE WITH OTHER DOOR LATCHES ON VARIOUS VEHICLES. FOR THIS TO HAPPEN ON A 08 FOCUS, WHICH HAS BEEN DRIVEN CAREFULLY BY ONE OWNER, FAIL TO SEE HOW THE FORD DEALER CAN SAY IT'S NOT A MANUFACTURERS DEFECT? ARE THEY WORRIED THAT IT'LL COST MORE FOR A RECALL THAN ANY LAWSUITS? *TR
HEAD RESTRAINT FOR DRIVER'S SEAT CAME OUT OF THE SEAT DURING A REAR-END COLLISION. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ACTIVATED, AN UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHT DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD SIMILAR TO A WRENCH. THE VEHICLE THEN BEGAN TO HESITATE AND JERK EXCESSIVELY. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROADWAY, SHUT OFF THE ENGINE AND WHEN RESTARTING, THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURE PERSISTED WHEN THE CONTACT WOULD DRIVE WITH THE AIR CONDITIONER ACTIVATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AT A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE SHE WAS INFORMED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY WAS DEFECTIVE. THE DEALER WAS CONTACTED WHERE SHE WAS ADVISED THAT THE PART NEEDED TO MAKE THE REPAIR WAS ON A NATIONAL BACKORDER FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS. THE VEHICLE WAS LEFT WITH THE DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING REPAIRS. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 64,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DOOR LATCHES WERE STICKING WHICH MADE UNABLE TO BE OPENED. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER AND THEY REPLACED THE DOOR LATCHES BUT THAT DID NOT REMEDY THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD CONTINUOUSLY TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE LATCHES REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE LATCHES AND THEY INFORMED THE CONTACT TO LUBRICATE THE LATCHES BUT THAT HAS NOT REMEDIED THE ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER ALSO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE GRAVEL ROAD CAN ALSO CAUSE THE DOOR LATCHES TO FAIL. THE CONTACT STATED IF A CHILD IS LEFT INSIDE THE VEHICLE IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO GET IN THE VEHICLE AND THE ONLY OPTION IS TO BREAK THE WINDOW. THE CONTACT STATED THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THE MANUFACTURER NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. UPDATED 10/21/10. *LJ UPDATED 10/25/10
I HAVE A 2008 FORD FOCUS SE/SES AND I HAVE BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE REAR PASSENGER DOORS NOT UNLOCKING AND NOT OPENING FROM TIME TO TIME. THE ONLY WAY I AM ABLE TO OPEN THEM IS WITH A SET OF PLIERS. I HAVE GONE TO FORD WITH THIS ISSUE AND THEY CLAIM IT IS BECAUSE "I DRIVE ON A DIRT ROAD"; BUT I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH ANY OTHER VEHICLE FROM DRIVING ON A DIRT ROAD. LUCKILY I HAVEN'T HAD ANY INSTANCES WHERE I NEED MY PASSENGERS TO BE OUT OF THE BACK SEAT IMMEDIATELY. I ALSO HAVE A CHILD THAT IS 3 AND I AM CONCERNED FOR HER SAFETY IF WE CANNOT GET THE BACKDOORS OPEN IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY. FORD WILL NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND TOLD ME THAT I SHOULD CLEAN OUT THE LOCKS OF THE DOORS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FOCUS. THE DRIVER STATED THAT HIS VEHICLE BEGAN TO MAKE EXCESSIVE NOISES IN THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AT APPROXIMATELY 10,000 MILES. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE TIRES ON HIS VEHICLE WHERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DRIVER REPLACED THE TIRES WITH GOODYEAR TIRES AND AROUND 13,000 MILES THE VEHICLE STARTED TO HAVE THE IDENTICAL FAILURE. THE DRIVER TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER TOLD HIM THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ON HIS VEHICLE AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO TO ASSIST HIM. THE DRIVER HAS NOW REPLACED THE TIRES THREE TIMES. THE NOISE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING MORE THAN 60 MPH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 24,100.
TIRES WEAR UNEVEN ON 2008 FORD FOCUS WHICH IS A SAFETY HAZARD ESPECIALLY IN BAD WEATHER. SO FAR 2 SETS OF TIRES HAVE BEEN WORN OUT AND WHEN GOING DOWN THE ROAD I AM BEING BOUNCED ALL AROUND. THEY HAVE NO SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE WAS REAR-ENDED AND DESTROYED BY A HIT-AND-RUN DRIVER. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. AN OCCUPANT IN HER VEHICLE SUSTAINED NECK AND BACK INJURIES. BOTH THE CONTACT AND OCCUPANT WERE WEARING THEIR SEAT BELTS AT THE TIME OF THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED FROM THE SCENE AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE SPEED WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 13,000.
ON 4/9/09 I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND I NOTICED SLIGHT VIBRATION COMING FROM THE LEFT REAR PIRELLI P6 TIRE ON MY 2008 FORD FOCUS. I CHECKED THE TIRE AND DID NOT NOTICE ANY VISIBLE SIGN OF DAMAGE. ON THE WAY HOME THE VIBRATION GOT MORE SEVERE. ON ARRIVING HOME I CHECKED THE TIRE AND FOUND ONE SPOT THAT WAS COMPLETELY BALD. FROM WHEN I CHECKED THE TIRE AT WORK TO WHEN I ARRIVED AT HOME I HAD DRIVEN A TOTAL OF LESS THAN 90 MILES FOR THE TIRE TO GO COMPLETELY BALD IN THAT SPOT. BOTH PIRELLI AND 2 FORD DEALERS CLAIM THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS WITH THE TIRE, THAT THE DAMAGE WAS DUE TO A IMPROPER USE OF THE EMERGENCY BRAKE, IMPROPER ALIGNMENT OF THE REAR END OF THE VEHICLE, THE TIRE NOT BEING BALANCED OR FAILURE TO ROTATE THE TIRES. I HAD THE TIRES REPLACED BY A LOCAL MECHANIC. *TR

CAR DOOR LOCKS ON 2008 FORD FOCUS SE WILL NOT UNLOCK WITH ELECTRONIC POWER BUTTON, KEY FOB REMOTE, DOOR KEY, PULLING UP ON PLUNGER OR ATTEMPTING TO OPEN DOOR WITH HANDLE OR ANY COMBINATION OF THE ABOVE. THIS IS AN ON GOING ISSUE WE HAVE HAD SINCE SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE. THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LEAK DUE TO A FAULTY SPLASH GUARD. WE HAVE HAD IT SERVICED BY FORD SEVERAL TIMES; HOWEVER, THE ISSUE HAS COME BACK AGAIN, AND WE ARE NO LONGER IN WARRANTY. LOCKS FREEZE UP. THIS IS A 2008 FORD FOCUS 4 DOOR. 6 MONTHS AFTER PURCHASED BRAND NEW THE BACK DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. REPAIRED AT DEALER. APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS LATER STARTED FREEZING UP AGAIN AND BEFORE I COULD GET IT IN TO GET REPAIRED THE FRONT DOORS DID THIS AS WELL. I HAD GOTTEN OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND LOCKED THE DOORS THEN NONE OF THE DOORS WOULD OPEN UP, HAD TO CLIMB THROUGH TRUNK. ALL FOUR DOORS REPAIRED. 6 MONTHS LATER DOORS LOCKED UP AGAIN. SOMETIMES THEY WOULD WORK AND SOMETIMES THEY WOULD NOT. EVENTUALLY THE BACK DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN AT ALL. THIS HAS HAPPENED ONE MORE TIME THREE OF THE DOORS. THEY WHERE REPAIRED AND AT THIS TIME I NOW HAVE A BACK DOOR THAT WILL NO LONGER OPEN. SINCE I PURCHASED MY 2008 FORD FOCUS SES ON APRIL 30 2008 I HAVE FELT THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ALIGNMENT OR STEERING. WHEN LETTING GO OF THE WHEEL IT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY WILL HEAD FOR THE DITCH. AT 300 MILES I REQUESTED A WARRANTY ALIGNMENT, DEALER SAID THEY WOULD NOT DO ONE UNTIL AT LEAST 500 OR 1,000 MILES. AT 1,200 MILES I REQUESTED THE SAME AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULDN'T DO ONE UNTIL AT LEAST 5,000 MILES, REASONING WAS THAT THE SUSPENSION NEEDED TO LOOSEN UP DUE TO BEING TIED DOWN IN SHIPPING. CALLED CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY INFORMED ME THERE WAS NO MILEAGE LIMIT. INFORMED DEALER AND THEY DID AN ALIGNMENT AND DID FIND IT WAS OFF. DROVE THE CAR AND STILL FEEL SOMETHING IS OFF. I DROVE ONE ON THE LOT THAT WAS NOT AS BAD AS MINE BUT STILL IT WOULD DRIFT ON A STRAIGHT ROAD AFTER LETTING GO OF THE WHEEL IN A VERY SHORT DISTANCE. TIRED OF FIGHTING WITH THE DEALER BUT STILL NOT LIKING THE WAY I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY ADJUST MY STEERING WHEEL TO DRIVE IN A STRAIGHT LINE. AT 7,800 MILES I HAD MY 7,500 MILE MAINTENANCE DONE. NOW THE CAR WILL DRIFT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY TO LEFT AND AT TIMES FEEL LIKE IT IS WOBBLING LEFT AND RIGHT. I HAVE MADE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A DIFFERENT DEALER TO SEE IF THEY CAN FIND WHAT IS WRONG. WHILE UNDER NORMAL ACCELERATION FROM THAT POINT THE RPM'S CAN GO AS HIGH AS 3500 BEFORE THE SECOND SHIFT. ONCE IN SECOND GEAR, DEPENDING ON THE ENGINE LOAD THE RPM'S CAN GO AS HIGH AS 4000. AS I MENTIONED,ENGINE LOAD. ON A SLIGHT DOWNGRADE THE TRANS SHIFTS NORMAL WITH LOWER RPM AT ALL SHIFT POINTS. ON A SLIGHT UPGRADE SHIFT POINTS ARE HIGHER. DRIVE DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT A STEADY SPEED. THE FIRST SHIFT SEEMS OK. IN SECOND GEAR THE RPM'S WILL STAY AT 2500 TO 3000. THE TRANSMISSION DOES NO SHIFT UNTIL YOU LET OF THE GAS PEDAL A LITTLE. ONCE IN THIRD GEAR THE OD DOES NOT KICK IN UNTIL SPEEDS ABOVE 60MPH. I HAD THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THEY CHECKED FOR CODES AND THERE WERE NONE. THE SHOP FOREMAN DROVE THE VEHICLE THEN REQUESTED WE DRIVE ANOTHER TO SEE IF THE PROBLEM WAS PRESENT. WE DROVE ANOTHER VEHICLE THAT SEEMED TO PERFORM THE SAME.
