TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS WITH KUMHO SOLUS TIRES, SIZE 205 50/16, DOT NUMBER: C0117. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TIRES WERE WEARING PREMATURELY. THE PASSENGER SIDE TIRE WAS REPLACED TWICE AND EACH TIME, THERE WAS ONLY 1,000 MILES ACCRUED ON THE TIRE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PREMATURE WEAR WAS CAUSED BY THE TREAD OF THE TIRE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 850 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 4,400.
STEERING WHEEL VIBRATION IS FELT UPON APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES. THE VIBRATIONS ARE STRONGER AT HIGHER SPEEDS. AN AUTOMOTIVE SPECIALIST TOLD ME IT IS A CHARACTERISTIC OF THE FORD FOCUS DUE TO UNDERDESIGNED SUSPENSION COMPONENTS. THIS CAN CREATE A POTENTIAL SAFETY HAZZARD AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS (65MPH) DUE TO THE STRONG VIBRATIONS IN THE STEERING WHEEL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THEY HAVE HAD THREE SET OF TIRES ON THE VEHICLE IN THREE YEARS. EACH SET OF TIRES HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT ON THE VEHICLE AND ALL WORE DOWN AROUND 33,000 MILES. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT TIRES WORE DOWN FASTER THEN THE REAR. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE THAT IT MUST BE THE TIRES EVEN THOUGH ALL THREE SETS OF TIRES WERE DIFFERENT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000. *TR
VEHICLE CONSTANTLY "BOTTOMS OUT" OVER MINOR POT HOLES IN ROAD OR OVER SPEED BUMPS...IF DIP IN FREEWAY AT FREEWAY SPEEDS THE JOLT WILL KNOCK YOUR TEETH OUT. BEEN TO DEALER AND INDEPENDENT MECHANICS AND ALL SAY THAT SUSPENSION SYSTEM IS INTACT AND NOTHING BENT OR BROKEN. IT IS HORRIBLE HOWEVER TO HAVE TO EXPERIENCE. THE SHOCKS MUST BE HORRIBLE AND NOT WELL BUILT FOR THE CAR. HAVE HAD CONSTANT TIRE WEAR FROM POOR ALIGNMENT AND AGAIN, IT'S THE FRONT SUSPENSION THAT DOES NOT HOLD. *JS
FOUR WEEKS AFTER I PURCHASED MY 2010 FORD FOCUS, I TURNED ON THE A/C AND TO MY SURPRISE THE A/C NEVER GOT COLD. I HAD IT RUNNING FOR 20 MINUTES BUT IT NEVER GOT COLD. THE NEXT DAY CALLED AND TOOK THE CAR TO BE CHECKED OUT, THEY KEPT IT TWO DAYS AND HAD ME COME PICK IT UP SAYING THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO INVESTIGATE. THE NEXT DAY I GOT A CALL FROM FAIRFIELD FORD SAYING THAT THERE WAS A OBJECT IN THE A/C AND NOT COVERED BY MY WARRANTY! WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR IN FEBRUARY IT WAS STILL COLD WEATHER SO NEVER TURNED ON THE A/C WHEN I DID THE TEST DRIVE, NEVER WOULD THINK THAT A ALMOST NEW CAR THAT IS PRE-OWNED WOULD HAVE A BAD A/C SYSTEM!! I TRULY THINK THE A/C WAS BAD AND THEY KNEW IT PRIOR TO SELLING THE CAR TO ME. NOW HAVING SQUEAKS WHEN I BACK OUT MY GARAGE IN THE MORNINGS, RECENTLY HAD IT CHECKED AND THE SAY MY BACK DRUMS ARE NO LONGER ROUND AND NEED TO BE RESURFACED OR REPLACED!! ONLY HAVE HAD THIS CAR 6 WKS NOW AND SO FAR HAVE TWO MAJOR PROBLEMS WITH IT, HAVE NOTIFIED THE BBB ABOUT THE A/C, GUESS NOW HAVE TO CONTACT THEM ABOUT THE BRAKES TOO.! *TR
2011 FORD FOCUS @ 1281 MILES ON 3/4/2011- WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADES NOT CLEARING WINDSHIELD AND LIFT OFF GLASS. WIPER BLADES THEN BROKE OFF OF WIPER ARM DUE TO DEFECTIVE PLASTIC CLIP ATTACHMENT. DRIVERS SIDE BLADE PARTIALLY DETACHED WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN HEAVY RAIN AND BECAME TRAPPED UNDER PASSENGER BLADE DISABLING IT. PASSENGER BLADE HAD TO BE REPLACED DUE TO CRACKING OF PLASTIC CLIP 1 WEEK LATER @ 1587 MILES. BOTH BLADES WERE REPLACED AT A FORD DEALERSHIP WITH NON-DEFECTIVE PARTS AT NO COST TO OWNER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH WITH THE SUN ROOF CLOSED AND THE GLASS SHATTERED. NOTHING HIT THE SUN ROOF NOR WAS SHE DRIVING UNDERNEATH AN OVERPASS. SHE IMMEDIATELY DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER ADVISED HER THAT THE SUNROOF GLASS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. I BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2010. A FEW MONTHS LATER MY CHILDREN SAID THEY COULDN'T GET OUT OF THE CAR EVEN THOUGH I HAD OPENED MY DOOR. I TRIED TO MANUALY UNLOCK THIS DOOR AND WAS UNABLE. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO GET IT FIXED BUT ON ARRIVAL AT FORD SERVICE IT HAD STARTED WORKING AGAIN. WHEN IT HAPPENED AGAIN I MADE THE SAME APPOINTMENT THIS TIME THEY SAW THE PROBLEM FOR THEMSELVES. THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM BUT KNEW IT WAS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THEREFORE CHANGED THE DOOR ACTUATOR,LATCH AND LINKAGE.IT WORKED FOR A WHILE AND THEN FAILED AGAIN ALONG WITH TWO OTHER DOORS. FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS STUMPED. THEY THEN CHANGE ALL THE DOOR ACTUATORS,LATCHES AND LINKAGE STILL NOT KNOWING WHAT HAPPENED. SOME MORE TIME PASSED AND THEN AN ALL DOOR LOCK FAILURE HAPPED. SAME THING ALL LOCKS STUCK IN LOCK POSITION UNABLE TO UNLOCK WITH KEYPAD, INTERIOR DOORS SWITCH OR MANUALLY. WITH THERE HAND IN THE AIR UNABLE TO FIND OUT WHAT WAS WRONG THEY PUT ALL NEW UPDATED ACTUATORS, LATCHES AND LINKAGE IN ALL DOORS .THIS WORKED FOR A MUCH LONGER PERIOD OF TIME AND JUST RECENTLY JAMMED IN LOCK POSITION AGAIN . I BROUGHT IT TO MY SALESMAN AND HE WROTE A REPORT AND WE GOT ANOTHER APPOINTMENT TO GET IT FIXED AGAIN .THE DAY BEFORE I BROUGHT IT IN IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN AND LIKE THEY ALWAYS TELL ME ' IT HAS TO ME MALFUNCTIONING IN FRONT OF US ". THIS HAS BEEN AN ON GOING PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT THIS CAR . I HAVE HAD SERIOUS ISSUES REGARDING PEOPLE NOT BEING ABLE TO GET OUT IN A MEDICAL CONDITION SITUATION AND MY LOCKS WERE STUCK .NOW MY WARRANTY IS UP IN A FEW MONTHS AND THEY HAVE TOLD ME I WILL HAVE TO PAY FOR PARTS AND LABOR AS SOON AS THAT HAPPENS AGAIN .I TRIED TO GET A WARRANTY EXTENSION JUST ON THE LOCKS AND JUST UNTIL THEY FIGURE OUT THIS ONGOING SAFETY ISSUE BUT FORD MOTOR COMPANY WOULDN'T HERE OF IT EVEN MOCKING MY SAFETY CONCERNS ON THE PHONE .FORD KNOWS THERE IS MORE TO THIS PROBLEM!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN A VEHICLE DROVE INTO HER PATH AND THE CONTACT CRASHED HEAD-ON INTO THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED CHEST INJURIES AND THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. THE CONTACTED WAS AWAITING A RETURN CALL FROM THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 23,000. UPDATED 05/24/11*LJ UPDATED 2/8/12 *CN
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED THE ENGINE BEGAN TO IDLE VERY LOUDLY. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY STALL WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE IT WOULD OPERATE NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON FIVE OCCASIONS AND ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 19,000.
MOM AND I WAS DRIVING A RENTAL. 2010 FORD FOCUS. EARLIER THAT DAY SHE WAS DRIVING THE CAR AN COMPLAINED IT WAS WOBBLING WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL STILL. FOR ME, AT FIRST WHEN I WAS DRIVING I THOUGHT IT WAS THE WIND MAKING THE CAR WOBBLE, BUT AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND NOTICE MY BACK RIGHT TIRE ROTATION WAS VERY UNUSUAL (IT JUST DIDN'T FEEL RIGHT) SO I SLOW DOWN TO FEEL THE SAME REACTION. WHEN I DID MY CAR FISHTAILED INTO THE MEDIAN WALL OF THE HIGHWAY (SMASHING IN THE RIGHT SIDE OR DRIVER SIDE OF THE CAR) (WHEN HITTING THE WALL , THE BREAKS AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP) AND BOUNCED ME ACROSS TO THE LEFT SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY HITTING THE METAL RAIL THAT HELP ME STOP ROLLING, ENDED UP WITH MINOR INJURIES, SERIOUS HEADACHES, AND A SO CALLED TICKET OF $130 FAILURE TO CONTROL MY VEHICLE I DON'T KNOW IF FORD FOCUS FUNCTION THAT WAY, BUT I WILL NEVER ADVISE ANYONE TO EVER GET A FORD! *TR

PURCHASED VEHICLE OCTOBER 2010, DRIVER SIDE SEAT BELT UNBUCKLES AND KEY STICKS IN IGNITION AND STEERING WHEEL LOCKS.
BOTH REAR TIRES STARTED MAKING NOISE. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID I HAD TO REPLACE 2 TIRES CAUSE THEY CUPPED. BOUGHT 4 NEW TIRES AND HAD AN ALLIGNMENT DONE. DID EVERYTHING THEY TOLD ME I HAD TO DO AND NOW AGAIN TIRES CUPPED. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND NOW THEY SAID IT NEEDS A REAR ADJUSTMENT KIT THAT COST OVER $900 PLUS LABOR, NEW TIRES AND ALLIGNMENT. FORD NOR DEALER WANT TO COVER ALL COST. ALSO MAKES A LOUD THUMP WHEN GOING OVER BUMP LIKE SHOCKS ARE BAD. TOOK IT TO DEALER AND THEY SAID SHOCKS WERE GOOD AND NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. *TR
MY 2010 FORD FOCUS CANNOT BE DRIVEN WITH THE HEADREST IN PLACE. IT PUSHES MY HEAD TOO FAR FORWARD TO AN UNNATURAL AND PAINFUL POSTURE. I KNOW IT'S A SAFETY ITEM, BUT I HAD TO REMOVE IT SO IT COMPROMISES RATHER THAN ENHANCES SAFETY. I WOULD REPLACE IT WITH AN AFTERMARKET HEADREST WITH BETTER DESIGN IF I COULD FIND ONE. *TR

THE CAR BOTTOMS OUT EASILY WHEN DRIVING ON PAVED ROADS. IF YOU HIT A SLIGHT VARIATION IN THE ROAD, YOU HAVE TO SLOW WAY DOWN OR THE CAR HITS BOTTOM. GOING OVER DIRT ROADS OR CROSSING RAILROAD TRACKS REQUIRES A MINIMAL, BARELY MOVING SPEED. THE TIRE PRESSURE IS ACCURATE. FORD DEALER TELLS ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY CONTROL FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE COMPUTER SYSTEM FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 5,000.
THE STEERING WHEEL AND FRONT WHEELS LOCK IF THE CONTACT KEY IS IN THE OFF POSITION AS DESCRIBED IN MY OWNER'S FOCUS 2010(MANUAL TRANSMISSION) BOOKLET IF WE WANT TO PULL THE FOCUS BEHIND MY 1998 30 FOOT WINNEBAGO ADVENTURER. SO I TURNED THE KEY IN POSITION 2, ACCESSORIES, AND DROVE MORE THAN 500 MILES AFTER ADEQUATE WIRING WAS PERFORMED. THE FOCUS BATTERY WAS DEAD. A FORD DEALER COULD NOT SOLVE THIS MYSTERY. THE DEALER ADVISED HER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED AND TO REPLACE THE LOCKING MECHANISM IF SHE DID NOT FEEL SAFE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED NOR WAS THE VEHICLE REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 23,135. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000. UPDATED 9/27/11 *CN THE SUNROOF LEAKED WATER AND THE TIRES CAUSED A SEVER VIBRATION. THE TIRE ISSUE HAS SINE BEEN RESOLVED.

I WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN THE IGNITION KEY IN MY 2010 FORD FOCUS {SES TRIM LEVEL} PAST HALFWAY BETWEEN THE ACCESSORY AND ON POSITIONS, THEN COULD NOT TURN IT BACK TO "FULL OFF" TO REMOVE KEY. FORD HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS SINCE THE 2000 MODEL YEAR, BUT HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL. *TR
DRIVING WITH MY FAMILY IN MY NEW FORD FOCUS 2010 AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCK IS LIKE A STONE, I COULD NOT TURN EITHER TO THE RIGHT OR LEFT. IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL APPEARED "ASSISTED STEERING FAILURE". FORTUNATELY FOR MY PASSAGE BY A QUIET ROAD AND I STOP. TURN OFF AND RESTART IT AND THE FAILURE DISAPPEARED, BUT LISTEN TO HUM TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. TAKE IT TO FORD DEALER AND ONLY RESET THE COMPUTER TO DELETE THE WITNESS OF FAULT AND TOLD ME THAT IS READY NOW. HOW CAN I DRIVE SAFELY AFTER THE LIVED? *TR

WHEN THE CONTACT PUSHED THE UNLOCK BUTTON IT WOULD NOT RESPOND OR THE DOOR WOULD CONTINUE TO STAY LOCKED. THE DEALER REPLACED THE DOOR LOCKS NUMEROUS TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THERE WAS A CLICKING NOISE IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT ALSO HAD TO REPLACE THE BRAKES AND STRUTS, BECAUSE THE VEHICLE PULLED TO THE RIGHT WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 15,506.
WHILE BRAKING WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, THE ENGINE STARTS REVVING VERY HIGH. DEPENDING ON WHETHER OR NOT THE CAR IS IN GEAR, THE CAR WILL MOVE EVEN WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKE AS HARD AS POSSIBLE. THIS IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM, IN FACT A VERY INFREQUENT ONE. CAR HAS BEEN BROUGHT INTO DEALER ON TWO OCCASIONS RE: THIS PROBLEM AND NO DIAGNOSIS HAS BEEN OBTAINED. THE CAR HAS LESS THAN 1500 MILES ON IT. EIGHT SEPARATE INCIDENTS HAVE BEEN NOTED, APPROXIMATELY EVERY 150 MILES. THE PROBLEM HAS ONLY OCCURRED WHEN STOPPING, NEVER WHILE DRIVING. *TR
SINCE I'VE HAD MY CAR THE BACK DOORS LOCK & UNLOCK BY THERE SELF.. ITS VERY DANGEROUS.. CANT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUT
FOCUS WOULD LOSE RPM'S WHEN IDLING, WOULD ALMOST STALL. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP AND THEY FIRST SAID IT WAS DUE TO TANK BEING TOPPED OFF AND SAID IT WAS CORRECTED. PROBLEMS STILL EXISTED SO TOOK BACK 2 MORE TIMES AND FINALLY SAID IT WAS A SENSOR. REPLACED AND WORKED FINE FOR COUPLE OF YEARS. NOW IT IS HAVING SAME PROBLEM, SEEMS THE SENSOR FOR THE IDLE IS NOT MADE VERY WELL. HAVE APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED TO TAKE IN FOR REPAIRS. *JS
CAR ENGINE KILLS WHILE DRIVING AT ALL SPEEDS WITHOUT WARNING. THIS HAS HAPPENED 7 TIMES IN THE LAST 23 DAYS, THE LAST TIME ON INTERSTATE IN THE LEFT AT 60 MPH. CAR WILL NOT START FOR SOME TIME AFTER BUT WILL START BUT STALL AGAIN. THE LAST TIME IT STALLED WHILE TURNING ACROSS A 6 LANE INTERSECTION WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC AT HIGHWAY SPEED. FIRST EVENTS OCCURRED AT 174.5 MILES ON THE ODOMETER AND WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. ON THE EVENING OF 31 MARCH 2010. CAR RETURNED ON EVENING OF 8 APRIL DEALER STATING THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CAUSED PROBLEM WITH THE CODED KEY MAKING THE CAR THINK IT WAS AN UNAUTHORIZED KEY. NEW INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WOULD NOT LOAD INTO THE COMPUTERS, DEALER STATED THEY HAD TO FORCE THE COMPUTER LOADING. CAR RETURNED TO ME THE AFTERNOON 8 APRIL AND BROUGHT BACK TO THE DEALER THE AFTERNOON OF 9 APRIL FOR SAME ISSUE WITH 300 MILES. DEALER STATES HE IS WORKING WITH THE MANUFACTURE ON PROGRAMMING A NEW COMPUTER AS THIS MIGHT BE THE PROBLEM BUT THEY ARE UNSURE, HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS BEFORE IN A NEW CAR. OF THE 23 DAYS I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR OVER 20 DAYS. I HAVE LOST MY TRUST IN THIS CAR AND FEEL THERE IS SOMETHING VERY WRONG FOR IT TO STALL WHILE MOVING IN 60 MPH TRAFFIC OR IN THE CENTER OF INTERSECTIONS. *TR
OUR 2010 AUTOMATIC FORD FOCUS DEMONSTRATED PROBLEMS WITH SHIFTING GEARS AT ABOUT 7,000 MILES. ONCE THE CAR IS WARMED UP IT WILL NOT SMOOTHLY SHIFT. THIS OCCURS WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 10-60 MPH, AND DEMONSTRATES MAJOR JERKING WHEN IT FINALLY DOES SHIFT, WITH REVVING/INCREASED RPMS. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS EVERYTIME THE CAR IS DRIVEN. THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WHEN ENTERING A HIGHWAY OR A MAJOR ROAD WITH TRAFFIC, SINCE THE CAR ACCELERATION DOES NOT RESPOND. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM AND IF CAUGHT IN TIME THE COMPUTER IS REPROGRAMMED. AT A CERTAIN POINT THE REPROGRAMMING NOT LONGER WORKS AND THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS MAJOR REPAIR. THE PROBLEM WAS NOT CORRECTED WITH COMPUTER REPROGRAMMING, AND IS NOW IN FOR MAJOR TRANSMISSION REPAIRS WITH 13,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
MY 2010 FORD FOCUS WAS PURCHASED ON 3/10/2010. WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF OWNERSHIP, THE DOOR LOCKS WERE NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE PROBLEM REPEATED INTERMITTENTLY AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK NUMEROUS TIME WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. TODAY, AFTER HAVING DEALT WITH WORKING/NON-WORKING LOCKS ON THE DOORS, ESPECIALLY THE DRIVER'S DOOR FOR MORE THAN A MONTH, WE GOT THE SAME RESPONSE, "WE NEED TO SEE THE VEHICLE WHEN THE PROBLEM IS OCCURRING." HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM TO SUIT THEIR OBJECTION TO MAKING A REPAIR? IN CHECKING FURTHER INTO THIS I FOUND THAT THIS SITUATION HAS EXISTED SINCE THE 2000 FORD FOCUS. WHEN IS FORD GOING TO BE MADE TO FIX THIS SO THAT WE DO NOT END UP PAY OUT NEARLY $500 FOR A 4-DOOR LOCK ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT? ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! IN AN ACCIDENT, SOMEONE IS NOT GOING TO GET OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND IF THERE IS A FIRE, POSSIBLY NONE OF THE OCCUPANTS WILL ESCAPE. FORD IS NOT WILLING TO FIX THIS. I THINK IT IS TIME THAT THIS SAFETY MATTER WAS ADDRESS BY AN AGENCY THAT CAN MAKE THEM DEAL WITH IT ONCE AND FOR ALL. A TEN YEAR INTERMITTENT FAILURE RECORD IS NOT A GOOD ONE. THE CAR HAS A TERRIBLE SMELL ON THE INSIDE, I HAVE TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND ALL THEY DID WAS SPRAY SOMETHING IN THE CAR AND SEND US HOME. 2010 FORD FOCUS SE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR MAT IS NOT PROPERLY AND SECURELY RETAINED IN POSITION AND MAY SLIDE UP AND UNDER THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL CAUSING "STUCK" PEDAL CONDITION. THE RETENTION SYSTEM CONSISTS OF 2 POSTS MOUNTED IN THE CARPET AND 2 CORRESPONDING HOLES IN THE MAT. MOST OTHER CARS USE A METAL HOOK IN THE CARPET THAT CLIPS TO A HOLE IN THE MAT. THE FOCUS MAT RETENTION POSTS IN THE CARPET ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO HOLD THE MAT IN POSITION. THE MAT EASILY COMES OFF THE POSTS DURING EXIT OF THE VEHICLE AND THEN MIGRATES UP THE FLOOR KICK DURING FUTURE INGRESS AND EGRESS. THERE WAS NO INCIDENT IN MY SITUATION BUT TODAY I HAD TO PULL THE MAT DOWN WHEN IT HAD MIGRATED UP THE FLOOR KICK TO ALMOST TOUCHING THE PEDAL MOUNTING FRAME. IF THE MAT "ROLLED UP", IT COULD CATCH AND HOLD THE PEDAL AND NOT RELEASE WHEN THE DRIVER REMOVES HIS FOOT. TW*
