STALLING
WHEN I PURCHASED MY CAR USED FEBRUARY 2017 AT 70,000 MILES, I WAS GIVEN A CARFAX STATING THE ONLY ISSUE WAS WITH THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH. LESS THAN A MONTH IN, I SEEMED TO BE LOSING POWER SO I TOOK IT TO TOWN & COUNTRY FORD IN MADISON, TN. IT WAS REPAIRED UNDER THE AFOREMENTIONED RECALL ISSUE AND I DROVE IN RELATIVE SATISFACTION FOR ALMOST AN ENTIRE YEAR. THEN I TOOK IT INTO TWO RIVERS FORD (MT. JULIET) FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE SERVICE GUY WAS VERY AMICABLE AND EVEN ARRANGED FOR ME TO HAVE A LOANER CAR WHILE THEY HAD MINE. THE SAME ISSUE WAS DIAGNOSED, BUT WITH AN ADDITIONAL FIX. I PAID $125 FOR SOME PART NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL WARRANTY BECAUSE I WAS TOLD THAT IF IT WERE TO MALFUNCTION AGAIN, IT MAY NOT BE COVERED. THE THIRD TIME I TOOK IT IN (BACK TO MT JULIET) THEY LOOKED AT IT, DETERMINED IT WAS THE SAME ISSUE, AND SAID I'D HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET BECAUSE THE RECALL WARRANTY WAS ONLY GOOD FOR 100,000 MILES. I COULDN'T AFFORD $2300 QUITE TO FIX IT SO I RETURNED THE LOANER AND CLAIMED MY VEHICLE, BUT NOT WITHOUT MAKING IT ABUNDANTLY CLEAR THAT WASN'T SATISFIED WITH HOW THE SITUATION WAS HANDLED.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Focus. The contact stated the vehicle stalled after the initial start-up, causing the contact to release and then depress the accelerator pedal for the transmission to properly select the desired gear while accelerating. Additionally, while accelerating uphill, the vehicle was jerking until driving on a flat surface. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer and the clutch assembly was replaced. The failure reoccurred and the contact returned the vehicle to the dealer where the transmission and clutch were replaced; however, the failure recurred, and the vehicle was taken back to the same dealer. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was unknown.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BOWEN SCARFF FORD-LINCOLN (LOCATED AT 1157 CENTRAL AVE N, KENT, WA 98032, (800) 577-1158), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 175,000.
MY RADIO IN MY CAR DOES NOT WORK BUT BEFORE THAT IT STARTED POPPING AND CRACKLING REALLY LOUD WITH THE IGNITION ON OR OFF MOVING DOWN THE ROAD OR STOPPED. WHENEVER IT WANTED TO IT DID IT. IT WAS SO LOUD IT WOULD SCARED ME TO THE POINT I WOULD JUMP AND ALMOST GO OFF THE ROAD. BUT NOW IT JUST DOESN'T WORK. I'VE LOOKED INTO IT AND A LOT OF PEOPLE REPORT THIS PROBLEM BUT NOTHINGS BEEN DONE ABOUT IT AND I FEEL SOMEBODY SAFETY IS IN JEOPARDY. *TR
THE STEERING ASSIST BECAME IN OPERABLE MAKING IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER THE CAR. IT WAS PARKED AT THE TIME. BUT LEFT MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER STRANDED
MY VEHICLE HAS DIED ON ME WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND AFTER GETTING GAS IT DOES NOT WANT TO START AND WILL SPUTTER AND ACT LIKE IT IS GOING TO DIE, OR DIE OR IT WILL BE VERY HARD TO START. THE CAR WILL JUST DIE AT STOP SIGNS AND IS VERY DANGEROUS. YOU CAN NOT TELL IF THERE IS GAS OR NOT BECAUSE THE GAUGE DOES NOT WORK AND WILL GO TO FULL EVEN IF YOU ONLY PUT ONE DOLLAR IN AND THEN AT HALF A TANK IT WILL GO BACK TO SHOWING FULL. I KNOW IT IS LOW OF GAS AND IT WILL ONLY HOLD FIVE OR TEN DOLLARS AT A TIME NO MATTER WHAT I CAN NOT TELL WHAT AMOUNT IS IN THE CAR AND THE SOLUTION I RECEIVED FROM FORD WHILE WAITING ON PARTS IS TO KEEP IT HALF A TANK OR MORE BUT THAT IS IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE I DO NOT KNOW HOW MUCH GAS IS THERE. THEY HAVE ALSO TOLD ME THEY ARE BUSY AND MAYBE AWHILE ANYWAY AND THEY CANT GIVE ME A RENTAL CAR. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN RAN OVER, BEEN STRANDED AND MISSED WORK BECAUSE OF THIS AND NOW I HAVE NO WAY TO GO IF THEY DO GET PARTS IN TO FIX THIS. PRIOR TO THIS MY TRANSMISSION WAS CAUSING MY CAR TO DIE AND THE DOOR HINGE IS UNDER RECALL AND THEY CAR SHOULD BE RECALLED TOTALLY. I DONT TRUST THEM TO FIX IT AND THESE ARE LEMONS AND THEY KNEW THIS AND PEOPLE HAVE CRASHED BECAUSE OF THIS!! THEY ARE LYING AND SHOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THESE CARS. THIS IS UNFAIR , UNETHICAL AND DANGEROUS. YOU CANT DO THIS AND RISK SO MANY LIVES. DO SOMETHING BEFORE PEOPLE DIE PLEASE!!1 IT HAS STOPPED ON HIGHWAY, PARKING LOT AND CITY ROAD AND RURAL ROAD. MY CURRENT PROBLEM IS AFTER FUELING UP MY CAR IT STARTS AND THEN STALLS, THEN THE NEXT RESTART IT TURNS OVER ABOUT 5 TO 10 SECONDS AND STARTS AND THEN HAS A ERRATIC IDLE AND IT MAY STALL AGAIN, OR IF I MANAGE TO TAKE OFF IT WILL RUN OK, UNLESS I HAVE TO STOP WITHIN A 100 YARDS, AND IT THEN MAY STALL AGAIN, OR HAVE A ERRATIC IDLE AROUND 2000 RPMS, THEN IDLES DOWN TO THE 750 AREA IF I'M LUCKY, ONLY AFTER FUELING UP. EVERY START AFTERWARDS STARTS AND RUNS FINE UNTIL THE NEXT GAS UP. I HAVE AN ENGINE CODE I BELIEVE THEY SAID WAS A EVAP CODE, MY FUEL TANK IS STARTING TO CONCAVE ON THE BOTTOM. I TALKED TO MY DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID I'M NOT PART OF THE RECALL, ALTHOUGH HE SAID I FIT ALL THE PARAMETERS OF THE RECALL, BUT MY VIN NUMBER ITS IN THE SYSTEM. I'M LOOKING FOR HELP AND HOPE SOMEONE CAN CONTACT FORD ! PS THIS IS ON GOING AND VERY DANGEROUS! THANK YOU, VERY DISAPPOINTED IN FORD. THIS REGARD THE AIR PURGE VALVE RECALL FOR MY FOCUS ST. HAVE GONE TO THE DEALERSHIP SEVERAL TIMES AND HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE PART IS NOT AVAILABLE AND TODAY I WAS TOLD THE SOFTWARE IS NOT READY. THIS IS HARD TO BELIEVE IN VIEW OF HOW BOEING HAS FIXED THE SOFTWARE FOR THE 737 ISSUE. THERE SEEMS TO BE AN INDIFFERENCE ON FIXING THIS AND HAS CAUSE ISSUES IS HESITATION AND ALMOST STALLING. I HAVE MANAGED TO CONTROL THIS BY MANIPULATING THE CLUTCH WHICH IS PROBABLY NOT GOOD. I AM SURPRISED THAT FORD HAS NOT EXPEDITED THE FIX.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that a reset was needed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
CAR IS DRIVEN IN MODERATE RAINING CONDITIONS IN VA. SUDDENLY WHILE MANEUVERING IN A WALMART PARKING LOT A FAULT 'ENGINE FAUL SERVICE CAR NOW' SHOWED UP ON THE DASHBOARD SCREEN. DIDN'T FEEL ANYTHING DIFFERENT AT FIRST AND CONTINUED DRIVING BACK HOME. ABOUT 2 MILES LATER IN THE MIDDLE OF ROUTE 28 THE CAR LOST ACCELERATION AND COMPLETELY STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. WAS ABLE TO MANEUVER IT ON THE SHOULDER BEFORE CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED. RESTARTED ENGINE BUT SAME ERROR SHOWED UP AND CAR ONLY MOVED A METER BEFORE STALLING AGAIN. HAD IT TOWED TO FORD CHANTILLY VA. DEALER CALLED A FEW DAYS LATER AND STATED IT'S A 800USD REPAIR ON A ELECTRICAL HARNESS ISSUE. IT IS THE SAME ELECTRICAL HARNESS RECALL THAT FORD RELEASED BUT ONLY FOR THE FORD FOCUS ST MODELS AND NOT SE. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS YEAR THAT I'VE BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER FOR MAJOR PERFORMANCE ISSUES. THE FIRST ONE IS COVERED BY THE TRANSMISSION PCM RECALL. FOR A 2013 MODEL THAT IS BARELY BEING USED (CAR HAS ONLY 35K MILEAGE) THIS IS UNACCEPATABLE. BTW CAR ALSO HAS AN ISSUE ON THE DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOW (DOESN'T GO DOWN) BUT I HAVE NOT REQUESTED THEM TO FIX THEM YET.
THIS CAR SHUDDERS WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP. ESPECIALLY BAD GOING UP AN INCLINE
WELL HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR, BUT HERE IS THE LATEST. I WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR STARTED MAKING NOISES AND THEN IT SPUTTED LIKE GOING TO DIE OUT, AND GET REALLY ROUGH DRIVING. I PARKED THE CAR GOT TO WORK, AND WHEN LEAVING IT WOULD NOT START. BATTERY IS NEW, SO NOT THAT. AFTER ABOUT 4 TRIES IT STARTED UP, THIS WAS WED. THEN FRIDAY, AND ON WAY HOME THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, AS WELL AS HAD ISSUE STARTING. I JUST RECEIVED THIS LETTER TODAY, HOW ODD AND CONFIRMED THAT THERE IS A PROBLEM AND NOT MY IMAGINATION. I HAVE GRANDCHILDREN THAT I PICK UP FROM SCHOOL AND DAY CARE, AND WILL NOT SUBJECT THEM TO THIS UNSAFE CAR. ALSO,LAST WEEK THE GAS GAUGE JUST WENT TO 50 AND IT BINGED TO LET ME KNOW, I DROVE TO THE GAS STATION NEARBY, AND I ROLLED IN.. NOW SEE THAT GAUGE IS ALSO OR COULD BE WRONG..I AM BRINGING IT IN AND HOPING YOU PUT ME IN A RENTAL UNTIL THIS IS FIXED!~
MY CAR GOT ON FIRE WHILE IT'S WAS PARKED
I WENT TO LEAVE ONE DAY AND MY STEERING WHEEL WAS LOCKED. IT CAME UNLOCKED ITSELF. WHILE WE WERE DRIVING HOME ON THE INTERSTATE AT SPEEDS OF 70-75 MPH THE POWER ASSIST LIGHT COMES ON AND LOST POWER STEERING. NO STEERING WHATSOEVER. MECHANIC CHECKED OUT AND ITS THE RACK AND PINION. NO RECALLS BUT ALL THESE SAME MODELS WITH THE SAME FAULTY STEERING. 97000 MILES. RACK AND PINION WAS REPLACED.
MY CAR START SHUTTERING ON ACCERALTION AND SHIFTING FUNNY. I DID SOME ONLINE RESEARCH AND A LOT OF PEOPLE SAID THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE CLUTCH. I CALLED FORD IMMEDIATELY FOR SCHEDULE FOR THE RECALL BUT THEY TOLD ME IT'S NOT LONGER A RECALL. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT RECALLS WERE GOOD FOR 10 YEARS AND ALSO THOUGHT THAT FORD HAD TO NOTIFY ME YET I NEVER EVEN KNEW ABOUT THE RECALL AND NOW I CANT SEEM TO GET IT FIXED. IS THAT RIGHT?

THE FOCUS DPS6 TRANSMISSION CONTINUOUSLY SHUDDERS AND STALLS WHEN DRIVING, ESPECIALLY WHEN STARTING OUT AND SHIFTING BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR. AFTER ALL OF THE INCIDENCES I HAVE HEARD ABOUT THIS TRANSMISSION, I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE AN OFFICIAL RECALL THAT ALLOWS FOR REPAIRS OR REPLACEMENT OF THE TRANSMISSION.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CAPITOL CITY FORD (8623 E WASHINGTON ST, INDIANAPOLIS, IN 46219) AND A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS PERFORMED. AFTER THE UPDATE, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WOULD RUN OUT OF FUEL EVEN THOUGH FUEL WAS STILL IN THE TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY STATED THAT THE CASE WAS CLOSED BECAUSE THEY COMPLETED THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. *TT*JB
THE POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSION IS DEFECTIVE, AS I HAVE HAD IT REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES IN A CAR WITH ONLY 50,000 MILES. I HAD MY CLUTCH PACK REPLACED FOR SLIPPING AND SHUDDERING TWICE WITHIN A TWO MONTH/2,000 MILE PERIOD. INITIALLY THE PROBLEMS WENT AWAY, BUT THEY CAME BACK AND ARE WORSE NOW. THERE HAVE BEEN 2 INCIDENCES WHERE I WAS DRIVING AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR'S SCREEN SAID TO SERVICE THE TRANSMISSION; THE CAR WOULD NOT SHIFT GEARS SO I COULD NOT ACCELERATE. BOTH TIMES I WOULD TURN THE CAR OFF AND AFTER SITTING FOR A WHILE (OVERNIGHT), IT WOULD TURN BACK ON EVERYTHING WOULD BE NORMAL. THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDER HAPPENS WHEN I ACCELERATE FROM A STOP OR FROM A NEAR STOP, LIKE IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC; THE CAR SHAKES AND ACCELERATION IS VERY UNEVEN. WHEN THE CAR IS FIRST STARTED IN COLD WEATHER, THE RPMS JUMP UP RAPIDLY WHEN I AM ACCELERATING FROM A STOP TO THE POINT WHERE THE TIRES SLIP AND SPIN, REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH I PRESS THE GAS PEDAL. EXCLUDING THE ISSUE ABOVE, THE SHUDDER SEEMS TO OCCUR MORE FREQUENTLY THE LONGER THE CAR IS BEING DRIVEN, AND THE WARMER THE WEATHER IS. WHEN I AM DRIVING AND I PUSH THE GAS PEDAL TO ACCELERATE MORE (LIKE GOING INTO A ROUNDABOUT OR MERGING ONTO THE HIGHWAY) THE RPMS RISE UP VERY HIGH BUT THE CAR JUST COASTS AND DOES NOT ACCELERATE FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. SOMETIMES WHEN I AM AT A STOP, I WILL PUSH THE GAS PEDAL AND THE RPMS WILL RISE, BUT THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE FOR A FEW SECONDS. THE ISSUES ARE SPORACTIC, AS THE CAR WILL BE FINE FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN IT WILL BE ALMOST UNDRIVEABLE FOR A FEW DAYS.

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 118,000. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THE CAR IS STALLING. THE ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED BY FORD BUT THEY DON'T HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT. THE STALLING HAS HAPPENED DURING RUSH HOUR ON THE HIGHWAY.

ZIEMES FORD (3004, 5700 E MAIN ST, FARMINGTON, NM 87402, (888) 375-9581) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
2013 FORD FOCUS, WAS BOUGHT NEW FROM DEALERSHIP AND HAS HAD CLUTCH ISSUES FROM BEGINNING. THE CAR STUTTERS ON ACCELERATION, SHIFTS HARD, AND OCCASIONALLY THERE IS A DELAY WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED. A RECALL WAS PERFORMED ON THIS CAR AND THE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED, BUT STILL HAD SAME ISSUE. THIS CAR HAS BEEN SEEN 8 TIMES FOR THIS ISSUE, AND HAS NEVER BEEN RESOLVED. THE CLUTCH THAT WAS REPLACED DURING THE RECALL HAS FAILED THE PERFORMANCE TEST, BUT THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT REPLACE DUE TO EXPIRED WARRANTY. RECENTLY ANOTHER RECALL WAS ISSUED ON THIS VEHICLE DUE TO A STUCK CANNISTER PURGE VALVE. THIS CAUSES THE ENGINE TO STALL AND THE FUEL METER TO READ INCORRECTLY. THIS CAUSED ME TO RUN OUT OF GAS ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY GAS METER REPORTED I STILL HAD HALF A TANK OF FUEL. ON 11/29/18, THE DEALERSHIP PERFORMED THE RECALL AND BELIEVING MY FUEL METER TO NOW BE ACCURATE, I RAN OUT OF GAS AGAIN AT A QUARTER TANK FULL. MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS BACK ON AND IT IS AGAIN THROWING A CODE FOR THE PURGE VALVE. THIS CAR HAS SEVERAL SAFETY ISSUES WHICH FORD DEALER HAS BEEN UNABLE AND UNWILLING TO REMEDY.
WHILE IN MOTION, RADIO / NAVIGATION SYSTEM NOTIFIES OF ERROR IN "911 ASSIST" SYSTEM AT WHICH POINT ALL AUDIO QUEUES FROM SYSTEM GO IN ACTIVE, INCLUDING NAVIGATION PROMPTS, RADIO, PHONE (IF CONNECTED) ETC... THIS RANDOMLY MAY OCCUR AND TYPICALLY WILL NOT RESOLVE ITSELF TILL AFTER A SHUT DOWN PERIOD OF A NUMBER OD HOURS.
CAR WAS NOT IDLING CORRECTLY WOULD HESITATE OR RUNNING EFFICIENTLY. FIST DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW PCM. AFTER $1300 AND A NEW PCM, 6 MONTHS GO BY, SAME PROBLEM CAME UP. 2ND DEALER DIAGNOSED A P2626 TO BE A CHAFFED WIRE IN A WIRE HARNESS. $700 REPAIR TO REPLACE TWO WIRES. THERE IS A SIMILAR RECALL FOR FORD FOCUS ST 14S17 THAT DEALS WITH A CHAFFED WIRE IN WIRE HARNESS.
STEERING WAS CATCHING WHILE DRIVING AND I HAD TO PUSH HARD TO TURN THE WHEEL PAST CERTAIN POINTS AS IT GOT CAUGHT AT CERTAIN POINTS. THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THAT ISSUE STOPPED BUT THE WHEEL MAKES A GRINDING NOISE WHILE TURNING THE WHEEL AT LOW SPEEDS. I WAS TOLD THAT THE ELECTRICAL RACK AND PINION STEERING NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE AS ABOUT 93K MILES ON IT.

THE VEHICLE SOUND SYSTEM, RADIO, IS MAKING A LOUD POPPING NOISE, EVEN WHEN THE RADIO IS OFF AND THE RADIO IS NOT WORKING. MY MOTHER, OWNER OF THE VEHICLE IS 79. THIS LOUD POPPING NOISE, IS STARTLING, WHICH CAUSES HER TO PANIC, WHICH IN MY OPINION IS A SAFETY FACTOR. I'VE READ ON THE INTERNET THAT THIS IS HAPPENING TO MANY FORD MODELS INCLUDING HERS. THE FORD DEALER STATES IT IS $105 JUST FOR THEM TO TROUBLE SHOOT. I'VE READ ALSO ON THE INTERNET THAT DEALERS FIX ONE COMPONENT OF THE SOUND SYSTEM, WHICH WORKS FOR A LITTLE WHILE, THEN THE ISSUE RETURNS, ONLY TO REPLACE ANOTHER COMPONENT AND ON AND ON. MY 79 YEAR OLD MOTHER DOES NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF MONEY, AND WILL BE SUCKED DRY, IF THIS HAPPENS TO HER. SO OUR DELIMA IS TO NOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE OF MONEY, AND TAKE THE CHANCE ON HER HAVING AN ACCIDENT CAUSE OF THE STARTLEING EFFECT, WHICH TURNS INTO PANIC, AND POSSIBLE AN ACCIDENT. WE FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. AND WOULD APPRECIATE A RESOLUTION. ONCE AGAIN THE POPPING NOISE COMES FROM THE RADIO SYSTEM, THE RADIO DOES NOT WORK AND THE SOUND HAPPENS WHEN THE RADIO IS ON OR OFF. STEERING LOCKED UP WHILE BACKING OUT OF PARKING SPOT. LUCKY WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT FORWARD BACK INTO SPOT. STEERING FLUID AT APPROPRIATE LEVEL, MORE THAN JUST A FAIL IN POWER STEERING. TWENTY-FOUR HOURS LATER CAR WILL START AND EVEN GO INTO GEAR, BUT STEERING LOCKED.
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILED FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. STEERING EFFORT WAS EXTREMELY HIGH DURING THIS PERIOD (FAR HIGHER THAN OLD MANUAL STEERING CARS). POWER ASSIST RECOVERED AFTER STOPPING THE CAR AND RE-STARTING.
SIX WEEKS AGO, WHILE MY CAR WAS STATIONARY AND WHEN MY CARE WAS BEING TURNED ON, MY CAR TRUNK STOPPED OPENING. THE KEY (FULL BATTERY) WILL NOT OPEN IT, THE INTERIOR CAR RELEASE WILL NOT OPEN AND THE TRUNK LATCH WILL NOT OPEN IT. ADDITIONALLY, THE WARNING LIGHT AND BEEPING NOISE IS CONSTANTLY ON WHEN STATIONARY AND WHEN DRIVING, SAYING THAT THE TRUNK IS OPEN. THERE IS NOT WAY TO FIX . I'VE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THERE IS FAULTY WIRING.

IN ADDITION, THE DEALERS STATED THAT THEY WERE "BACKLOGGED" WITH VEHICLES AND WOULD BE UNABLE TO PERFORM THE NECESSARY REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS RECALLED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,364. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE ENGINE STALLED WHILE PULLING INTO PARKING LOT. I TURNED OFF THE CAR, PUT IT IN PARK, AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON WITH CODE P144A. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE PURGE VALVE. THEY CLAIMED IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL FOR THE PURGE VALVE BECAUSE IT HAD A DIFFERENT DIAGNOSTIC CODE (RECALL #18S32). NO ONE WAS EVER ABLE TO EXPLAIN HOW THE PROBLEM WITH MY CAR WAS DIFFERENT FROM THE DESCRIPTION OF THE RECALL PROBLEM, HOWEVER.

STEERING IS LOCKED AND WILL NOT TURN. MESSAGE APPEARED THAT STATED STEERING LOSS STOP SAFELY. VEHICLE IS NOT DRIVABLE, IF I WAS DRIVING WHEN THIS HAPPENED I WOULD HAVE CRASHED. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 74000 MILES ON IT.
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN/ LIGHT, THE CAR SHAKES VIOLENTLY. I'VE HAD THE CAR IN THE SHOP MULTIPLE TIMES WHERE THE INFORMATION ON THE BILL STATES "CLUTCH MISFIRE". THE FIX IS TEMPORARY, LASTING A MONTH OR TWO, AND THEN THE PROBLEM IS BACK. I'VE HAD THE CAR FOR TWO YEARS AND THIS HAS BEEN A REOCCURRING PROBLEM.

FIRST MY TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN TOOK TO A FORD DEALERSHIP LOCATE IN MICHIGAN TO HAVE AN DIAGNOSTIC RAN ON IT AND IT WAS NOTED BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT MY CAR HAS TWO FIELD ACTIONS ON IT WHICH BOTH HAVE TO DO WITH THE FAULTY TRANSMISSION WHICH HAPPENS TO HESITATE TO TAKE OFF AND ALSO JERKS WHEN I ACCELERATE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON SINCE THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN MY GRANDMOTHERS POSSESSION. NOW IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE TO THE POINT WHERE IT NOW DRAGS AND THERE IS SOME SLIPPING WHEN IT SHIFTS. THE SECOND COMPLAINT I HAVE IS THAT MY RADIO RECENTLY BEGAN TO START TO STATIC AND POP. AND NOW FOR TWO WEEKS MY RADIO HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TURN ON, THE ONLY THING THAT DISPLAYS IS THE TIME CLOCK, DATE & TEMPERATURE. I HAVEN'T GOTTEN ANY AUDIO FROM THE VEHICLE. I'VE REPLACED THE FUSES FOR THE RADIO AND IT STILL ISN'T PLAYING ANY AUDIO. AND I CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE TIME OR MONEY TO PUT INTO THIS VEHICLE ANY MORE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000.

DEALERS REFUSE WARRANTY SERVICE TO REPAIR CLUTCH ASSEMBLY. DEALERS ACKNOWLEDGE FAULT DUE TO PRECISELY SAME MECHANICAL PROBLEMS WITH 2012 FORD FOCUS MODELS THAT ARE SUBJECT TO RECALL, BUT FOR THIS 2013 MODEL DEALERS REQUIRE REPAIR COST OF $1,300 TO $1,600 FOR PARTS AND LABOR. INITIALLY, ONCE VEHICLE IS STARTED AND RADIO IS TURNED ON, CRACKLING SOUNDS ARE HEARD ACROSS ENTIRE DASH OF CAR. RADIO STOPS WORKING. SOME DAYS RADIO WORKS, OTHER DAYS LONG STRETCHES OF CRACKLING AND THEN RADIO STOPS. RECENTLY, RADIO DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. WHEN BACK DOOR IS OPENED, SPEAKER IN REAR DRIVER DOOR CRACKLES AND SOUND IS HEARD ALL THE WAY TO THE FRONT DRIVER DOOR AND ACROSS DASH TO THE RADIO. RADIO HAS STOPPED WORKING ALTOGETHER. CANNOT BE TURNED OFF (APPEARS TO BE ON EVEN THOUGH NOT WORKING). EVENTS OCCURRED OVER 2 WEEK PERIOD. NO DIFFICULTY WITH TRANSMISSION, OPERATION OR DASHBOARD. LAST EVENT WITH CRACKLING OCCURRED AS REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR WAS OPENED TO PUT ITEMS IN BACK SEAT. CAR NOT RUNNING.
HILL START ASSIST LIGHT UNAVAILABLE LIGHT AND SKID LIGHT CAME ON. CAR JOLTS IN IT'S OWN DIRECTION ALL OF A SUDDEN. CLUTCH PROBLEM ALSO. CAR ISN'T DRIVING PROPERLY OR SHIFTING IN GEARS PROPERLY. DRIVING CAR ON STREET. WHEN TURNING CAR WANTS TO GO IN IT'S OWN DIRECTION. SCARY.
ON OCTOBER 25, 2018 MY CAR POPULATED A CEL CODE P0087 AFTER IGNITION WHEN THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. THE CAR TAKES ABOUT 5 SECONDS TO START HALF THE TIME. THE TURBO IS DISABLED AND HAD REDUCED ACCELERATION, WHICH THE DEALER SAID WAS CRAWL MODE. WHEN I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, THEY SAID THE CODE WAS CAUSED BY THE DEFECTIVE PURGE VALVE DAMAGING MY FUEL PUMP AND WOULD BE COVERED UNDER BY RECALL 18S32. THEY SAID THAT MY CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE BUT THAT FORD HAS DISAPPROVED THE REQUEST FOR A LOANER CAR, AND THAT PARTS ARE BACKORDERED. WHEN I CALLED FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE ON 1/4/2019, THEY SAID THEY DO NOT PROVIDE LOANER CARS FOR THIS RECALL AND ADVISED ME THAT ME VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE.
