I'VE REPORTED THIS ISSUE SEVERAL TIMES. IT IS GOING TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT!! WHEN STOPPED AT A STOP LIGHT, OR STOP SIGN, THE CAR WANTS TO KEEP MOVING, EVEN THOUGH HEAVY BRAKE PRESSURE IS BEING APPLIED. WHEN I AM AT A STOP LIGHT AND THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN TO MOVE FORWARD, THE CAR HESITATES TO MOVE, CAUSING THE VEHICLES BEHIND ME TO BLOW THEIR HORN! THERE IS NOTHING I CAN DO!! THIS CAR IS GOING TO CAUSE MYSELF OR OTHER OWNERS AN ACCIDENT WITH NO DOUBT IN MY MIND! THE HESITATION TO TAKE OFF WHEN I'M WANTING TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC, SCARES ME TO DEATH!!! SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE BEFORE AN INNOCENT LIFE OR LIVES ARE LOST!!! *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 5 MPH, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 8,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
VEHICLE SHUDDERS, BUCKS & HESITATES UPON TAKE OFF AND ACCELERATION. FEELS LIKE ITS GOING TO STALL. MAKES GRINDING NOISE WHEN CHANGING GEARS. HAVE HAD IT "REPAIRED" TWICE AT THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED FOR SAME ISSUE. FIRST TIME ON 9/8/2014 & 2ND TIME ON 5/4/2015.
LOUD GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM A BRAND NEW FORD FOCUS. BEING TOLD THAT THE SOUND IS NORMAL. I DIDN'T SIGN UP FOR A VEHICLE THAT SOUNDS LIKE IT'S DRAGGING METAL DOWN THE STREET ONLY TO BE TOLD THIS IS NORMAL FOR THIS VEHICLES DUAL TRANSMISSION.. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS SE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT 70 MPH THE TRANSMISSION SUDDENLY DOWNSHIFTED FROM AN AUTOMATIC SIX SPEED TO A SPEED OF APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED. THERE WERE NO CONSEQUENCES THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER FROM THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THEY ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS COVERED UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR TOWING TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE DEALER JC LEWIS FORD (9505 ABERCORN ST, SAVANNAH, GA 31406 (912) 210-5692) WHERE THE TRANSMISSION MODULE WAS REPROGRAMMED UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TEST DRIVEN BUT NO ISSUES WERE FOUND. THE VEHICLE HOWEVER EXPERIENCED THE SAME ISSUE THE SAME DAY IT WAS RETURNED TO THE CONTACT. SHE HAD TO SCHEDULE ANOTHER AN APPOINTMENT WITH THE DEALER TO RE-INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 29,000.
THE VEHICLE HESITATES AND VIBRATES; A NOISE IN THE TRANSMISSION; AND THE TRANSMISSION NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY. IT DOES NOT ACCELERATE AND ALMOST HAS CAUSED MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. ADDITIONALLY, THE CHECK ENGINE, THE BATTERY, AND THE OIL WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO RESTART. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000.
AN ENTERPRISE BRANCH PUT ME IN A DEFECTIVE RENTAL. THE BRAKES WERE BAD. THE ENTERPRISE EMPLOYEE WHO PUT GAS IN IT ADVISED THE BRANCH MANAGER THERE WAS A PROBLEM BUT HE PUT ME IN THE CAR ANYWAY. I HAVE TRIED FOR A WEEK TO GET A REGIONAL MANAGER TO RETURN MY CALL. THERE WERE TWO COMMENTS MADE BY INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED WITH THE DEALERSHIP THAT LEAD ME TO BELIEVE THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE. I DON'T CARE ABOUT A REFUND. I WANT A CORRECTIVE ACTION PLAN THAT CAN BE MONITORED TO ENSURE NO ONE IS PUT IN THAT POSITION AGAIN. THE SECOND VEHICLE'S ENGINE MAINTENANCE WAS DUE. *TR
DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND CAR ACTS AS IF STARVED OF FUEL AND RAPIDLY DECREASES SPEED. THERE WAS NO POWER, BUT VEHICLE WAS ON. THERE HAVE NOW BEEN THREE INCIDENTS WHILE ON FREEWAY AT SPEED THAT THE VEHICLE HAS DONE THIS AND EACH TIME I HAVE HAD TO PULL OFF ONTO SHOULDER (ALMOST GETTING HIT BY TRAFFIC EACH TIME). LUCKILY THE FIRST 2 TIMES I WAS ABLE TO RESTART CAR AND GET OFF FREEWAY BY STAYING ON SHOULDER SINCE CAR COULD NOT REACH FREEWAY SPEEDS. THIS LAST INCIDENT (ON 1/11/15) LEFT ME STRANDED ON FREEWAY BETWEEN AN ON RAMP AND FIRST LANE. THEY DID NOT DO ANYTHING WITH FIRST INCIDENT BECAUSE THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE PROBLEM. AFTER SECOND INCIDENT FORD REPLACED FUEL PUMP, GASKET AND TANK. AFTER TWO WEEKS AND FOR A THIRD TIME VEHICLE AGAIN "STALLED" ON FREEWAY AT 65-70MPH. CAR IS AGAIN GETTING SAME PARTS REPLACED. ALL THESE INCIDENTS HAVE OCCURRED WITH IN LESS THAN A 6 MONTH PERIOD. *TR
AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE SEALS LEAK, EVENTUALLY CAUSING THE CAR TO HESITATE BADLY DURING ACCELERATION. PRIMARILY HAPPENS FROM A STOP, WHICH HAS CAUSED "CLOSE CALLS" ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. CLUTCH AND SEALS HAVE BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES IN LESS THAN 8000 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS APPLIED, BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND WITHOUT WARNING. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE HESITATED, JERKED, AND SHOOK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER (COCONUT POINT FORD, 22400 S TAMIAMI TRL, ESTERO, FL 33928) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION, CLUTCH, AND CONTROL MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. ADDITIONALLY, A SOFTWARE REFLASH WAS NEEDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND REFERRED THE CONTACT BACK TO THE LOCAL DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF THE BUY BACK PROGRAM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,000.

HESITATION ON ACCELERATION AND GRINDING SOUND; TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT GO FORWARD OR BACK; CLUTCH HAS EXCESSIVE SHUDDERING AT LOW SPEED. VEHICLE WILL NOT START
EXPERIENCING SHUDDERING WITH ACCELERATION FROM A STOP POSITION. MY CAR MAKES A VERY LOUD NOISE ALONG WITH VIBRATIONS, TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY, THEY CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION SAID IT WAS FINE, THEY TEST DROVE IT AND OF COURSE SINCE IT IS INTERMITTENT IT DIDN'T DO IT. I WAS TOLD THIS IS NORMAL DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS AN AUTOMATIC BUT FUNCTIONS LIKE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. SOON AS I GET IN THE CAR DRIVE IT ABOUT 5 MILES AND IT STARTS DOING IT. I'M NERVOUS DRIVING IT CAUSE IT ALSO FEELS LIKE IT'S GOING TO DIE IN THE MIDDLE OF ACCELERATION. I FEEL THAT SAFETY IS COMPROMISED BY THIS ISSUE. IT SHUDDERS THE MOST AT ABOUT 18-20MPH FROM 0MPH. I DON'T SEE HOW THIS CAN BE NORMAL, IT FEELS SO UNSAFE. *TR
2 CONTINENTAL CONTIPROCONTACT TIRES HAVE SIDEWALL BUBBLES ON MY 2013 FORD FOCUS. FEAR I WILL HAVE A BLOWOUT ON THE FREEWAY. *TR
I REPORTED THIS ISSUE WHEN I HAD MY FOCUS IN 2014....IT WAS DISMISSED. NOW, 4 TIMES IT WAS IN THE DEALERSHIP AND 4 TIMES IT WASN'T FIXED, 4 TIMES I HAD TO PAY FOR A RENTAL FOR 2 WEEKS EACH TIME, COSTING ME A TOTAL OF $2,755 IN ALL FOR NOTHING TO BE RESOLVED. I TRADED THE VEHICLE BECAUSE IT WAS LITERALLY A SAFETY HAZZARD BUT NO ONE WOULD DESIGNATE IT THAT AT THE TIME.
WHILE ACCELERATING FROM STANDING POSITION (AT STOP LIGHT PENDING GREEN LEFT TURN) I HEAR GRINDING AND A POP NOISE COMING FROM ENGINE WHEN TRANSMISSION APPARENTLY SLIPPED (DISENGAGED) SO THAT THE FORWARD DRIVE WILL NOT OPERATE. CAR'S MOMENTUM KEPT CAR MOVING FORWARD BUT WITHOUT POWER FROM DRIVETRAIN. PUTTING CAR IN REVERSE GEAR CAUSES SEVERE GRINDING NOISE AND NO CHANGE IN MOTION. CAR DOES NOT HAVE FORWARD OR REVERSE MOVEMENT WHEN PUT INTO GEAR AND IS COMPLETELY DISABLED. CAR THAT WAS BEHIND ME SUDDENLY SWERVED TO PREVENT REAR-END COLLISION WITH MY RAPIDLY DECELERATING VEHICLE (WITH NO BRAKE LIGHTS ACTIVATED TO WARN OF RAPID DECELERATION). *TR
THIS IS A FOLLOW ON TO AN ORIGINAL COMPLAINT SUBMITTED. THIS FIRST TIME THE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACE AND FIXT THE ISSUE FOR 10,000 MILES. THE NEW TRANSMISSION AGAIN STARTED TO HESITATE WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS OVER 80 DEGREES. SEVERE SHUDDER WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST INTO 2ND. THEN THE VEHICLE WOULD REACH 5 MPH ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AND THE ENGINE RPMS WOULD JUMP TO 5000 AND THE VEHICLE WOULD ONLY CREEP ALONG AT 5 MPH. THIS HAPPENED IN HEAVY TRAFFIC WITHOUT WARNING. LIMPED THE CAR INTO THE DEALER WHO HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION TCM. THE CONTROLLERS SEEM TO LAST BETWEEN 10,000 AND 16,000 MILES. WHEN THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCES A FAILED TRANSMISSION CONTROLLER IN HEAVY TRAFFIC, THIS POSES A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION AS OTHER CARS ARE TRYING TO DRIVE AROUND AT 45 MPH. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS UPHILL OR ON AN INCLINE, THE TRANSMISSION HESITATED AS IF THE VEHICLE WOULD STALL. THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL RELATED TO THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE RECALL PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THERE IS AN OBVIOUS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE. WHEN GOING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR FROM A STOP IT SHUDDERS AND NEARLY STALLS. THIS IS A CONSTANT EVERY DAY ISSUE. I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW, I HAVE BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE AND WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE THERE IS NO OFFICIAL RECALL FORD IS NOT ALLOWING THE DEALERSHIPS TO FIX THE PROBLEM EVEN THOUGHT THERE ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM ACROSS THE BOARD WITH THE 2013 MODEL OF THE FOCUS AND THE FIESTA. I WAS BASICALLY TOLD THAT WITH AN OFFICIAL RECALL THE CAR WOULD HAVE TO STALL OUT ON THE ROAD OR BE THE CAUSE OF AN ACCIDENT IN ORDER FOR THE ISSUE TO BE FIXED. *TR
2013 FORD FOCUS RECALL....UPDATED 02/12/15*BF THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED ON OCTOBER 13, 2014, THE RECALL COULD NOT BE PERFORMED, BECAUSE THE VEHICLE HAD NOT REACHED 10,000 MILES. IN DECEMBER 2014, THE CONSUMERS WIFE WAS PARKING THE VEHICLE, WHEN SUDDENLY THE BRAKES WHICH CAUSED HER TO JUMP THE CURB AND HIT A TRUCK. *JB
CAR WILL NOT SHIFT,SPUTTERS, STALLS, JERKS. HAS BEEN TO DEALER 4 TIMES WITH NO RESULTS. *TR
MY 2013 FORD FOCUS HAS DEMONSTRATED JERKY SHIFTING, ENGINE SPUTTERING AND STALLS RELATED TO INEFFECTIVE SHIFTING OF THE TRANSMISSION SINCE IT WAS FIRST PURCHASED. HOWEVER, AT APPROXIMATELY 55,000 MILES, THE TRANSMISSION WAS SPUTTERING AND STALLING EXCESSIVELY. AT THAT TIME, WE WERE NOTIFIED OF A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION. ON SEPTEMBER 16, 2014, MY TRANSMISSION WAS "REPROGRAMMED" BY A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP. THEREAFTER, THE SPUTTERING SLOWED FOR A SHORT PERIOD AND MY GAS MILEAGE WAS ALSO REDUCED. NOT LONG AFTER THAT, THE SPUTTERING AND STALLING RETURNED. IN OCTOBER 2014, MY LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP REPLACED THE ELECTRONIC CLUTCH IN MY FOCUS. DURING THE WEEK OF MAY 4, 2015, THE CAR FAILED TO ACCELERATE ON THE HIGHWAY APPROXIMATELY THREE TIMES. ON THE MORNING, OF MAY 12, 2015, MY TRANSMISSION FAILED TO SHIFT WHILE I WAS ATTEMPTING TO EXIT THE HIGHWAY ONTO A BUSY, THREE LANE EXIT RAMP. I PUT ON MY FLASHERS AND TRIED FRANTICALLY TO GET MY FOCUS TO SHIFT INTO GEAR AND MOVE FORWARD. RATHER, IT STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. NEXT, A MACK TRUCK NEARLY REAR-ENDED MY CAR. MY CAR HAS BEEN TOWED TO A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP, AND I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE FORD DEALERSHIP WILL EVALUATE WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY TRANSMISSION, BUT THEY HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OTHER FORD FOCUS AUTOMOBILES IN OUR AREA DEMONSTRATE THESE SYMPTOMS. I SEE ENDLESS BLOGS WITH FORD CUSTOMERS WHO DO HAVE THIS SAME PROBLEM. I BELIEVE THAT A FURTHER RECALL IS REQUIRED REGARDING THE 2013 FORD FOCUS.
MY FORD FOCUS IS HAVING TRANSMISSION AND STALLING ISSUES AS REPORTED MANY TIMES BEFORE MY 2013 FOCUS HAS HAD A RECALL AND WAS TO BE CORRECT, A YEAR LATER IT SEEMS I AM STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. AT ANYTIME WHILE DRIVING STOP AND GO OR JUST DRIVING MY CAR FEELS LIKE IT WANTS TO FIGHT TO SHIFT, CAUSING THE CAR TO PUTTER LIKE MOTION AND JERKING MOTION, THE CAR HAS STALLED OUT ON ME BEFORE WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, AS I FEEL THIS IS A GROWING CONCERN I WANT OTHERS TO KNOW THAT IS NOT JUST YOUR CAR. I DO SEE MANY POST WITH THE SAME ISSUE AND ITS ALL 100% TRUE AS I LOVE FORD AND WILL NEVER DRIVE ANTHER CAR I FEEL FOR MY SAFETY EACH AND EVERY DAY THAT I DRIVE MY CAR. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP A HAND FULL OF TIMES. AS MY CAR IS BRAND NEW AND SHOULD NOT DRIVE THE WAY IT FEELS. *TR
SHUDDERING, JOLTING, LURCHING, GRINDING OF THE TRANSMISSION BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR. THIS HAD BEEN THE MAIN ISSUE, I WENT TO FORD 6 TIMES FOR THIS AND IT STILL HAS ISSUES. MOST RECENTLY, MY CAR WOULDN'T GO INTO 2ND GEAR AND WOULD REV VERY HIGH AND THEN SLAMS INTO GEAR & HAS A VERY INTENSE LURCH FORWARD. IT HAS DONE THIS IN INTERSECTIONS AND PULLING OUT ONTO BUS HIGHWAYS. I WENT TO THE LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. THE ERROR CODE THEY RECEIVED WAS "P0902 CLUTCH ACTUATOR CIRCUIT LOW".

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. WHILE STATIONARY AND DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING UPON ACCELERATION. IN ADDITION, THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR LATCH BECAME UNLATCHED AND THE DOOR OPENED. FURTHERMORE, THE VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION FAILED DUE TO THE INABILITY TO SHIFT TO SECOND GEAR PROPERLY. BERTWOLFE FORD IN CHARLESTON, WEST VIRGINIA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE SERIES OF FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO HESITATE AND JERK FORWARD. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER - GWINNETT PLACE FORD (3230 SATELLITE BLVD, DULUTH, GA 30096; (404) 418-6877) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED ON SIX OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I WAS STOPPED IN LINE AT A LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED I PUSHED ON THE GAS AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE- IT SOUNDED LIKE THE ENGINE WAS STUCK IN NEUTRAL. I SHUT THE CAR OFF AND RESTARTED IT AND THAT'S WHEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED SEVERAL TIMES AS THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG-AFTER TWO DAYS I WAS TOLD IT WAS DUE TO AN UPDATE THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE TO THE ENGINE SOFTWARE AND THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER EITHER THE BASIC WARRANTY OR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. I HAD THE SAME VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A SOUND IN THE ENGINE ON 6/30 AND THEY COULDN'T FIND ANYTHING! I HAVE A FRIEND WHO HAD THE SAME ISSUE WHEN HIS CAR WAS A MONTH OLD AND THEY COVERED THE COST OF HIS REPAIR. *TR

THIS IS INDICATED BY CHANGES IN TACHOMETER READINGS (UP AND DOWN) AS WELL AS FEEL TO THE DRIVER. (5) VEHICLE WILL NOT MAINTAIN POSITION I.E., ROLLS BACKWARD, ON THE SLIGHTEST INCLINE. I HAVE HAD MY 2013 FORD FOCUS AT THE DEALER THREE TIMES NOW FOR TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITH THEIR DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION INCLUDING EXCESSIVE NOISE DURING ACCELERATION, HESITATION WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE INTO TRAFFIC, AND JERKY ACCELERATION, ESPECIALLY FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. THEY HAVE REPLACED THE CLUTCH AND REPROGRAMMED THE TRANSMISSION BUT THE PROBLEM HAS PERSISTED - THE NOISE AND HESITATION RETURNED WITHIN A DAY OF THE REPAIRS. I SIMPLY DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AS I NEVER KNOW WHEN IT IS GOING TO FAIL TO ACCELERATE. FORD INSISTS THESE ISSUES ARE NORMAL, BUT I CAN'T IMAGINE A CAR THAT SOUNDS LIKE THIS AND FAILS TO SHIFT WHEN ACCELERATING INTO TRAFFIC IS "NORMAL". *TR

MY 2013 FORD FOCUS HAS A BAD TRANSMISSION SHUDDER THAT HAPPENS MOSTLY WHEN STARTING OUT FROM A DEAD STOP AND THE TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR . AT TIMES IT SHUDDERS AND SHAKES SO BAD WHEN STARTING OUT THE VEHICLE WILL ACTUALLY DELAY AND STOP MOVING MOMENTARILY WHILE THE TRANSMISSION IS SHAKING AND SHUDDERING. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN THIS HAPPENS WHILE CROSSING A HWY OR TRYING TO GO THROUGH A BUSY INTERSECTION AND THE VEHICLE STOPS MOVING AND JUST SITS THERE AND SHAKES FOR A SECOND OR TWO. THE LAST TIME THIS HAPPENED IT SCARED MY WIFE SO BAD SHE NOW REFUSES TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE ANYMORE AND DOESNT REALLY CARE TO RIDE IN IT ANYMORE EVEN WHEN I'M DRIVING. HAD IT TO THE DEALER ABOUT 5 OR 6 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THEY REPLACED THE CLUTCHES IN THE TRANSMISSION ONCE AND RE FLASHED THE COMPUTER A NUMBER OF TIMES AND WHILE THAT DID HELP FOR A SHORT TIME AFTER THESE REPAIRS IT ALWAYS STARTS SHUDDERING AGAIN. FORD SAYS THIS IS NORMAL FOR THE TRANSMISSION TO SHUDDER AND SHAKE SO IF ITS NORMAL WHY DOESNT IT DO IT ALL THE TIME AND WHY DID THE NEW CLUTCHES COMPLETELY TAKE CARE OF THE SHUDDER FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS?? I WOULD LIKE TO MEET THE ENGINEER THAT DESIGNED THIS TRANSMISSION AND HAVE HIM TELL ME THIS IS NORMAL TO MY FACE AFTER TAKING HIM FOR A RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE.
UPON ACCELERATION, FROM STOP OR MOVING, THE VEHICLE SHAKES, JERKS, AND RATTLES VIOLENTLY. THE TRANSMISSION WILL GRIND AND WILL HESITATE TO ENGAGE. TRYING TO PULL OUT INTO MOVING TRAFFIC, I WAS ALMOST IN AN ACCIDENT MULTIPLE TIMES DUE TO THE ENGINE PROPERLY "REVVING UP" BUT THE TRANSMISSION FAILING TO EITHER ENGAGE, LATE TO ENGAGE, OR MISSING THE PROPER GEAR. ON EVEN SLIGHT INCLINES THE VEHICLE WILL ROLL BACKWARDS QUICKLY WHEN MOVING FOOT FROM BRAKE TO ACCELERATOR. TAKEN TO DEALERSHIP WHO CONFIRMED FAILURE OF CLUTCH AND SEALS BUT FORD DOES NOT HAVE AVAILABILITY ON PARTS. MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS TOLD ME THIS PROBLEM IS IN EVERY 2013 FOCUS, AND READING ONLINE CONFIRMS THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS CLEARLY A SAFETY ISSUE AND I'M NOW DRIVING A CAR WITH A CONFIRMED FAILURE ITEM THAT CANNOT BE REPLACED. WHEN ACCELERATING AND TURNING A CORNER THE CAR WITH STUDDED AND JUMP. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP WHO TOLD ME THIS WAS PART OF THE DUAL CLUTCH DESIGN OF THE CAR. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, IT WAS RAINING, AS I PULLED OFF THE LIGHT, THE CAR BEGAN SPUTTERING AND WOULD NOT GO OVER 10 MPH. I MANAGED TO GET HOME THAT DAY AND AFTER SITTING FOR 24 HOURS, IT RAN FINE AGAIN.THIS MORNING (DEC.9TH2014) RAINING AGAIN, I PULLED INTO MY PARKING LOT AND THE CAR BEGAN SPUTTERING AND WHEN I PLACED IT IN PARK, ANOTHER CRITICAL ENGINE FAULT APPEARED, I HAVE READ ABOUT 100 OTHER CASES DESCRIBING THE SAME SITUATION. *TR
MY TRANSMISSION IS GREAT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. THE JUDDER, SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR, DECELERATION WHEN I NEED TO ACCELERATE, AND THE RANDOM BUCKLING OF CAR IS GETTING TOO HORRIBLE TO IGNORE ANYMORE. MY DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT THERE HAS BEEN NO ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND THAT I WAS WRONG. I AM READING WAY TOO MANY OF THE SAME STORIES WITH THE SAME CAR. THIS IS GETTING DANGEROUS AND I AM STUCK WITH THIS CAR. WHEN I ACCELERATE FROM A STOPPED POSITION, I FEEL AS IF I AM RIDING A BUCKING BRONCO (SHUDDERING). THE JOLTING AND SHUDDERING IS ENOUGH TO LOOSEN MY KIDNEYS. THIS HAS ALWAYS OCCURRED ON MY CAR. BUT IT IS GETTING WORSE. BUT ACCORDING TO FORD, THIS IS 'NORMAL' AND 'THIS TRANSMISSION IS SUPPOSE TO FEEL LIKE A MANUAL.' I HAVE DRIVEN MANUAL TRANSMISSION CARS AND THEY DO NOT BEHAVE THIS WAY. THEY HAVE MADE IT SEEM LIKE CARS ARE SUPPOSE TO DRIVE THIS WAY NOW.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE FRONT PASSENGER AND REAR DRIVER SIDE POWER WINDOWS FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,000.

THE SEAT BELT KEEPS MY BODY FROM IMPACTING THE STEERING WHEEL FROM THE RESULTING MOVEMENT EACH AND EVERY TIME I ACCELERATE FROM A STOPPED POSITION. *TR

THE TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTED BACK INTO THE DRIVE POSITION AND THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL FUNCTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 17,800 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 18,200.
THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE ON THE 2013-2014 FORD FOCUS ST WHERE THE CAR WILL IDLE ROUGH AND SOMETIMES STALL FOR NO APPARENT REASON. THIS IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS AND HAS HAPPENED TO ME 2X ALREADY, BOTH DURING LEFT TURNS. I WAS ABLE TO REMEDY THE SITUATION OTHERWISE I WOULD HAVE BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT BOTH TIMES. I DO NOT KNOW IF THERE IS A FIX YET, BUT THERE IS A TSB ANNOUNCED. I AM TRYING TO GET IT DONE NOW BUT THIS IS A MAJOR PROBLEM SIMILAR TO THE CURRENT GM RECALL. WHEN STARTING TO ACCELERATE, OR DRIVING AND PRESS HARD ON THE ACCELERATOR, THE ENGINE MAY TAKE OFF AS EXPECTED, OR MAY SPUTTER, AND HESITATE, AND HAVE A JERKY ACCELERATION. I SOME INTERSECTION LEFT TURNS, I HAVE ALMOST GOTTEN INTO AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE LEARNED TO BE CAREFUL, AND ASSUME THE WORST, AND TO ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME TO MAKE THE TURN. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR ABOUT 3 YEARS, AND THIS HAS HAPPENED MANY TIMES THROUGH THE 3 YEARS. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR TO A FORD DEALER 3-4 TIMES, AND THEY TELL ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG - THE CARE IS WITHIN THE SPECS IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE WITHIN. NOTHING THEY CAN DO.

THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN 'FIXED' MULTIPLE TIMES. SHAKING AND RUMBLING WHEN SHIFTING IN THE TRANSMISSION, LACK OF POWER WHEN ACCELERATING AND RATTLING WHEN AROUND 50 MPH.
EVERY TIME I TRY TO EVEN SLIGHTLY INCLINE THE TRANSMISSION SPUTTERS AND SHAKES AND CONTINUES UNTIL I'M NOT IN ANY UPCLINE AT ALL. I'VE TAKEN MY CAR MANY TIMES TO MULTIPLE DEALERSHIPS JUST TO BE TOLD IT'S NOTHING OR IT'S BECAUSE YOUR VEHICLE IS A FLEX SO THE CAR THINKS IT'S IN MANUAL. IT'S NOT A PROBLEM. JUST DRIVE IT AND ITLL BE FINE. WELL 6YEARS HAVE PAST AND IT JUST GETS WORSE EACH TIME. I'VE PARTED THE CAR AND DRIVE IT OCCASIONALLY BECAUSE WHEN IT JERKS AND DOESNT GO INTO GEAR OR ACCELERATION IS NONE EXISTANT IT'S ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE HITS ME FROM BEHIND ON THE HYW. BUT AGAIN FORD HAS NOT HONORED MY 100000 WARRANTY WHEN MY CATILATIC CONVERTER WENT OUT WHEN I ONLY HAD 80000 MILES ON IT. FOUND OUT A YEAR LATER THAT IT WAS COVERED. FORD IS HORRIBLE ON CORRECTING ISSUES THAT ARE A SAFETY MATTER.AT THIS POINT LIKE A SERVICE TECH TOLD ME IT'S THEIR WORD AGAINST MINE. THEY HAVE THE POWER SO EITHER DEAL WITH IT OR GET RID OF YOUR CAR.
