I HAVE HAD MY VEHICLE IN FOR TCM & CLUTCH ISSUES MORE THAN 7 TIMES AND CONTINUE TO DO SO. I HAVE A RECORDED CONVERSATION WITH THE SERVICE MANAGER TELLING ME "THE DUAL CLUTCH IS A BAD DESIGN AND WILL NEVER REALLY BE FIXED". WHEN I LEASED THE VEHICLE IN 2014 I KNEW I WAS PLANNING TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE AT THE END OF THE LEASE, SO I CHOSE THE LEASE OPTION WITH THE LOWEST MILES ALLOWED. JUST BEFORE THE LEASE END DATE, THE RECALL ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE'S TCM AND DUAL CLUTCH CAME INTO PLAY. ALTHOUGH I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO TURN THE LEASE VEHICLE IN, I WOULD HAVE HAD TO PAY A GREAT DEAL IN MILEAGE OVERAGE FEES, SO I FOLLOWED THROUGH WITH THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE (FALL OF 2017). I FELT I REALLY HAD NO CHOICE AT THAT POINT. I NOW OWN A VEHICLE (STILL MAKING PAYMENTS WITH $8K REMAINING) WITH 96K MILES ON IT THAT CONTINUES TO HAVE NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I JUST WANT TO BE RID OF THE CAR AND MOVE ON.
TRANSMISION R-CALL, DEALER KEEPS TELLING ME THAT THE TRANSMISION SUPPSED TO ACT SKIPPING AND BOUNCING BECAUSE IT HAS A DUAL CLUTCH WHEN GOING UP A HILL OR STARTING TO MOVE FROM STANDING STILL.
CAR JERKS AND HESITATES WHEN TAKING OFF, MAKING IT DANGEROUS TO CROSS TRAFFIC. SHAKES SO BAD THAT YOU CAN'T DRIVE IT WITHOUT FEARING AN ACCIDENT.
VEHICLE HAS A INHERENT PROBLEM WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. IT SEEMS TO SLIP AND CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO JERK FROM A START. DEALER SAYS IT IS NORMAL AND REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO SERVICE DEPARTMENT A TOTAL OF 3 TIMES.THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND IS UNSAFE.THIS VEHICLE NEEDS TO BE RECALLED TO HAVE THIS ADDRESSED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH, THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO JERK AND MAKE AN ABNORMAL NOISE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
PURCHASED 2014 FOCUS ON 6/7/14, CLUTCH ASY REPLACED 11/30/15,CLUTCH ASY REPLACED 9/12/16, INSTALL NEW ETB 9/14/16 (THROTTLE BODY), REPLACE BATTERY 12/20/16, GIVEN EXTENDED WARRANTY W/$100 DEDUCTABLE 11/11/16 - WARRANTY EXPIRED 6/7/19, REPLACED CLUTCH ASY 6/9/19 - 7/3/19. THREE CLUTCH ASSEMBY'S IN 5 YEARS - VERY UNSAFE. ALSO 6/9/19-7/3/19 REPLACED SIDE DOOR LATCH (SAFETY RECALL) AND FUEL TANK DEFORMATION - REPLACED TUBE ASY - FUE. WITH THIS MANY CLUTCH REPAIRS FORD NEW THEY HAD AN ISSUE. EVEN THOUGH FORD GAVE ME AN EXTENDED WARRANTY IN 2016 DUE TO THE ISSUES WITH MY CAR, THEY BACKDATED THE WARRANTY TO THE DATE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. THIS ALSO SEEMS DECEPTIVE. NUMEROUS TIMES I WAS TRAVELING ON INSTERTATE ROADS, WHEN I PULLED OUT TO PASS A SEMI, THE CAR WOULD CUT OUT. WHEN ACCELLERATING IN THE CITY OR ON INSTERTATES, THERE WOULD BE NO ACCELERATION WHEN PUSHING THE ACCELATOR. JUST THE OPPOSITE WOULD HAPPEN. THE CAR WOULD CAUGH AND CHOKE BEFORE FINALLY CATCHING TO ACCELORATE. I BELIEVE BOTH FORD AND THE DEALER SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE WITH ALL THE SAFETY ISSUES THIS CAR HAS HAD, AND CONTINUES TO HAVE.
MY CAR HAS GENERATED A HORRIBLE SMELL IN THE INTERIOR. IT STARTED OUT AS A FAINT SMELL. THEN AFTER A COUPLE WEEKS IT HAS GOTTEN SIGNIFICANTLY STRONGER. TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOOK OUT THE ENTIRE INTERIOR AND CLEANED EVERYTHING. THE SMELL WAS THEN GONE. IT STARTED TO SMELL AGAIN ABOUT 2 MONTHS LATER. THE SAME EXACT SMELL. IT IS 20F OUTSIDE CURRENTLY NOW AND THE SMELL IS NOT NOTICEABLE UNTIL THE CAR GETS WARM OR IT SITS IN A HEATED GARAGE. THE SMELL IS HARD TO DESCRIBE. ITS A FOUL SMELL, ON THE SAME LEVEL AS A DEAD ANIMAL SMELL, BUT IT SMELLS NOTHING LIKE THAT. THE DEALER AND I HAVE CONFIRMED THAT IT IS NOT THE SMELL THAT IS COMING FROM THE AC WHEN WATER CONDENSATION COLLECTS IN THERE. THIS IS AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SMELL THAN THAT. IT ALMOST SMELLS LIKE SOME SORT OF CHEMICAL. IM STILL WORKING WITH THE DEALER AND FORD TO SORT OUT THIS DEAL. WHILE THEY HAVE BEEN ACCOMMODATING, IT IS FRUSTRATING TO SAY THE LEAST. THEY HAVE TALKED ABOUT REPLACING THE ENTIRE INTERIOR, BUT THE DEALER AND I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT WILL WORK. *TR
WITHIN THE FIRST FEW HUNDRED MILES I DROVE THE CAR I NOTICED THAT WHEN I WAS AT HIGHWAY SPEED AND TRIED TO ACCELERATE THE CAR ACTED LIKE IT COULDN'T GET IN GEAR AND GO. THE ACCELERATION WAS DELAYED DRAMATICALLY. THAT HAS CONTINUED EVER SINCE. MORE RECENTLY FROM A DEAD STOP WHEN I ACCELERATE THE CAR SHUDDERS, MAKES LOUD, ODD NOISES AND ACCELERATES WITH DIFFICULTY. THIS CAR IS A DANGER TO ME AND TO OTHERS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH AND DEPRESSING THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SHOOK AND LOST POWER. THE FAILURE RECURRED NUMEROUS TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER NEEDED TO UPDATED. THE VEHICLE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,000.

THE TRANSMISSION ON THIS VEHICLE IS FAULTY AND THE VEHICLE STALLS OUT AT LOW GEARS. WHEN YOU STOP AT A STOP SIGN OR STOP LIGHT, TURN THE STEERING WHEEL ON ACCELERATION, OR BACK THE VEHICLE IT STALLS OUT AND THEN THE VEHICLE JERKS/ SHAKES TO GET BACK INTO GEAR. IT IS TERRIBLY DANGEROUS. FORD HAS NOW ATTEMPTED TO FIX THE ISSUE ON MY VEHICLE 3 TIMES AND HAS FAILED TO DO SO. MY VEHICLE HAS HAD THE TRANSMISSION RE-SEALED AND ON A SEPARATE OCCASION THEY HAVE TAKEN MY TRANSMISSION APART TO REPLACE THE CLUTCH AT JUST OVER 6500 MILES. MY VEHICLE IS IN THE SHOP FOR THE 3 TIME, RETURNING WITH THE ISSUES THAT WERE ALLEGEDLY "REPAIRED". THE VEHICLE WILL NOT GO ON ACCELERATION, OFTEN TIMES - IN TRAFFIC - I HAVE BEEN ALMOST RAN OVER OR REAR ENDED BY OTHER VEHICLES. I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO DIE FIRST, BEFORE THIS ISSUE IS TAKEN CARE OF. I BOUGHT WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A NICE, NEW, RELIABLE AND SAFE VEHICLE.. IT HAS TURNED OUT TO BE A LEMON THAT CAN VERY WELL END UP COSTING MY LIFE. MANY CONSUMERS HAVE THIS VERY POPULAR VEHICLE, FORD IS NOT ALERTING ANYONE TO THE PROBLEMS THEY ARE SELLING THESE VEHICLES WITH. THE VEHICLE STALLS OUT GOING DOWN THE ROAD.. AND TO AN UNSUSPECTING DRIVER FOLLOWING BEHIND ME, I COULD END UP REAR ENDED AND SERIOUSLY HURT OR KILLED. THE REVIEWS FROM OTHER FORD FOCUS DRIVERS MAKE IT OBVIOUS THAT FORD HAS TRIED AND FAILED OVER AND AGAIN TO FIX THIS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. SOME REVIEWS MENTION HOW THE TRANSMISSION HAVE CAUSED THEM ACCIDENTS, WHEN THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY JERKED INTO GEAR CAUSING THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. SOMETHING MUST BE DONE ABOUT THIS. HOW CAN FORD CORPORATE GET AWAY WITH THIS? *TR
VEHICLE SHUTTERS ON TAKE OFF AND RATTLES. THE SHUTTERING AT TIMES CAN BECOME SERIOUS TO THE POINT THE VEHICLE ACTS LIKE IT WANTS TO STALL. I WAS TOLD THAT FORD MOTOR IS VERY AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM WHICH INVOLVES A FAULTY CLUTCH SYSTEM BUT YET WHEN CHECKED BY A COMPUTER, IF THE READING STATES CERTAIN NUMBERS, THEY DON'T WANT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT! THIS IS ABSURD! THIS VEHICLE IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE YET FORD DOES NOT WANT TO FIX THE VEHICLE. WHEN I DRIVE THIS VEHICLE AT TIMES, THE VIBRATIONS ARE SO SEVERE THAT I HAVE TO LET UP OFF THE ACCELERATOR IN ORDER FOR IT TO STOP. THAT'S WHEN I'M AFRAID THAT I'LL GET HIT. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE DONE ON THIS PROBLEM. THERE HAVE BEEN 36 LAWSUITS FILED JUST IN ONE COUNTY IN PENNSYLVANIA ALONE FOR THIS PROBLEM NHTSA NEEDS TO STEP IN AND MANDATE FORD FOR A RECALL. *TR
THE VEHICLE REGULARLY SHUDDERS WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A DEAD STOP AND HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A LOW SPEED ROLL. LESS FREQUENTLY THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO LAG AND THEN LUNGE WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS APPLIED WHILE THE VEHICLE IS DECELERATING AND THE TRANSMISSION IS DOWNSHIFTING. THE DEALER REPRESENTATIVE INDICATED THE PROBLEMS ARE COMMON FOR WHICH THERE IS NO CORRECTIVE ACTION. THE DEALER EXPLAINED THAT THE VEHICLE HAS THE MOST CURRENT TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE UPDATE. WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF FORD, THROUGH A PHONE NUMBER PROVIDED BY THE DEALER, THE EXISTENCE OF A KNOWN PROBLEM WAS DENIED BY FORD. DURING THE COMPLAINT INVESTIGATION THE DEALER REPRESENTATIVE DENIED STATING THAT THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE. THE SHUDDERING AND HESITATION CHARACTERISTICS PRESENT A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN QUICK ACCELERATION IS REQUIRED. THE HERKY JERKY NATURE OF THE SHUDDERING AND TRANSMISSION SHIFTING CAUSE CONCERN THAT, IN THE FUTURE, THE PARTS IN THE TRANSMISSION WILL WEAR AND FAIL PREMATURELY. *TR
FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS NOW, WHEN I DRIVE AT SLOWER SPEEDS (USUALLY 15-25 MPH) THE TRANSMISSION APPEARS TO GRIND WHEN CHANGING GEARS. FROM WHAT I'VE READ, FORD IS CLAIMING THIS IS SLIPPING OF THE TRANSMISSION AND IS "NORMAL" FOR THE CAR. BRAND NEW CARS SHOULD NOT MAKE NOISES LIKE THIS. GLAD I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FROM MY CREDIT UNION. ALSO, THE PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW DOES NOT CLOSE AS QUICKLY AS THE OTHER WINDOWS. *JS
IN JUNE OF 2014 NOT EVEN A FULL 6 MONTHS AFTER I BOUGHT MY 2014 FORD FOCUS IT STARTED TO HAVE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. IT FEELS LIKE IT'S HAVING A HARD TIME ACCELERATING AND WHEN IT FINALLY GETS MOVING IT JERKS ALL OVER THE PLACE. I FEEL LIKE I'M DRIVING A MANUAL AND IT'S AN AUTOMATIC. I HAVE BROUGHT MY CAR BACK INTO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THEY TELL ME THAT THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM. *TR
THE CAR BUCKLES AT LOW SPEED WHEN ACCELERATING. THERE IS HESITATATION OR LOSS OF POWER AS THE CAR ATTEMPTS TO FIND THE NEXT GEAR. THIS CAN ALSO CAUSE THE CAR TO JOLT FORWARD UNEXPECTEDLY. THERE IS A GRINDING NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING OR SLOWING DOWN. THE CAR ALSO FEELS LIKE IT JUMPS WHILE TURNING.
MY CAR HAD A RECALL ON IT FOR THE CLUTCH PACK THAT IS BAD. I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT FIXED AND WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE MY CAR WAS BUILT AFTER JUNE 2014 THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE RECALL. I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE A COMPLAINT DUE TO THE SAME BAD PARTS BEING USED ON MY CAR EVEN THOUGH IT WAS MADE AFTER JUNE. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS 3000.00 TO FIX A BAD PART THAT WAS PUT IN MY CAR BY FORD. I FEEL THAT FORD SHOULD FIX THE PROBLEM SINCE THE SAME PART WAS USED ON MY CAR. IT'S NOT FAIR THAT MY CAR ISN'T GETTING FIXED DUE TO WHEN IT WAS MADE BUT HAS THE SAME BAD PART.
I HAVE A 2014 FORD FOCUS WITH LESS THAT 40,000 MILES THAT HAS THE TRANSMISSION THAT BUCKS AND JUMPS WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP AND ESPECIALLY WHEN BEING USED IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE BUT IT SURE MAKES ME UNCOMFORTABLE THAT IT WILL NOT KEEP GOING. I HAD HOPED THAT THE CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT THAT WAS FILED WOULD HELP TO GET THIS BAD TRANSMISSION FIXED BUT THE RESULT OF THE LAW SUIT WAS LACKING ANY CLEAR RESOLUTION FOR THIS PROBLEM. BEING ON SOCIAL SECURITY I CAN'T AFFORD TO JUST GO GET A NEW CAR AND HEARING STORIES AT THE AUTO DEANSHIP CONVINCED ME THAT FORD DID NOT HAVE A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. ONE PERSON AT THE DEALERSHIP WAS TOLD THAT SINCE HE HAD HIS REPAIRED ONCE, THAT FORD WOULDN'T FIX IT AGAIN AND THE COST TO HAVE THE DEALER WORK ON IT WAS $2,000.
WHILE UNDER WARRANTY I WAS DRIVING AND THE ENGINE SHUT OFF. I HAD TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER ON THE EXPRESSWAY. THIS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES DURING THE WARRANTY AND 6 TIMES SINCE THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. WHILE SITTING AT A RED LIGHT, THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN AND I BEGIN TO ACCELERATE. THE ENGINE STALLED FOURS TIMES AND THREE OTHER TIMES IT ALMOST STALLED. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY AND ONLY ONCE THEY SAID THEY FOUND A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THEY REPLACED SOME SMALL PART BUT IT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN. ONE OF THE TIMES IT STALLED I TOOK A PICTURE OF THE MESSAGE ON THE DASH BOARD. IT SAID: ENGINE FAILURE SERVICE IMMEDIATELY. I SHOWED THAT PHOTO TO THE SERVICE MANAGER AND MECHANIC AT FORD. BOTH OF THEM SAID THE SAME THING: "I'VE NEVER SEEN THAT BEFORE". MAKES YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT THE CAR YOU BOUGHT FROM THEM.ALSO, THE REAR DRIVERS SIDE DOOR WON'T OPEN MOST OF THE TIME ON THE FIRST ATTEMPT. I HAVE TO PULL THE HANDLE TWO OR THREE TIMES BEFORE THE DOOR WILL OPEN. FOR REPLACED SOME PART ON THE DOORS BECAUSE OF A RECALL BUT THAT DIDN'T FIX THE PROBLEM. IT STILL DOES IT. THIS POSTING ASKS YOU TO SPECIFY THE DATE OF OCCURRENCE. IT HAS HAPPENED SO REGULARLY NOW THERE ARE TOO MANY DATES TO LIST. I LSTED MAY OF 2014 WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR. FROM THEN ON IT HAS HAD PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM.
I AM CURRENTLY DRIVING A FORD FOCUS AND IT IS A COMPLETE MESS. THE TRANSMISSION IS AWFUL. THE WHOLE CAR EITHER CHUGS IN LOW GEAR OR IS ON A MASSIVE DELAY FROM THE GAS PEDAL. I HAVE BEEN IN SITUATIONS WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT OF A PARKING LOT AND THE DELAY IS SO BAD THAT TRAFFIC HAS ALMOST CAUGHT UP AND T-BONED MY CAR. THE CHUGGING IS JUST AS BAD. IT JERKS TERRIBLY. IT IS INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTING. I HAVE STUCK BY FORD FOR YEARS AND I FEEL COMPLETELY HUNG OUT TO DRY WITH THIS VEHICLE. I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANOTHER FORD.
SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED. BACK IN JANUARY THE CAR WOULD NOT START FROM A PARKING LOT. DEALERSHIP CHECKED IT OUT AND REPLACED THE HARNESS. THIS TIME WAS GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY AND THE CAR SHUT OFF AND THE PULL OVER NOW MESSAGE CAME ON. LUCKILY FOR ME THE PERSON BEHIND ME STAYED WITH US WHILE I PUSHED THE CAR OVER TO THE SIDE. THIS CAR HAS SOME ISSUES AND NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. ITS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP TODAY TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG. I AM GOING TO SEE IF THEY DEALERSHIP WILL TAKE IT BACK AND GET ME SOMETHING ELSE. I AM NOT COMFORTABLE WITH A CAR SHUTTING OFF WHILE ON THE FREEWAY. JUST NOT SAFE. *TR
I PURCHASED MY 2014 FOCUS DEC 2013 WITH 44 MILES ON IT. AT AROUND 6200 MILES IT WAS RUNNING ROUGH AND WOULD HESITATE UPON ACCELERATION. IT ALSO WOULD SHUTTER UPON TAKEOFF, LIKE IT WAS HAVING A HARD TIME GETTING INTO GEARS. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME THEY KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND HAS NUMEROUS CARS IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. UPON PUTTING IT ON A MACHINE THEY SAID IT WASN'T BAD ENOUGH TO REPAIR TO KEEP DRIVING IT. I TOOK IT BACK SEVERAL TIME FOR THE SAME ISSUES UNTIL AROUND 7800 MILES THEY SUPPOSEDLY CHANGED THE GEARS. IT WAS OK FOR A LITTLE WHILE, BUT THEN IT WOULD ACT LIKE IT COULDN'T COME OUT OF LOW GEAR WHEN I WAS GOING ABOUT 65 ON THE HIGHWAY THE SHUDDERING WAS ALSO GETTING WORSE THAN BEFORE. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AT 14500 MILES AND THEY DROVE IT FOR A MILE AND DID NOTHING TO IT. SAID I NEED TO TREAT IT LIKE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND GIVE IT A LITTLE GAS THEN LIFT UP AND REPRESS THE ACCELERATOR. AT 15000 MILES IT WAS BACK IN THE SHOP FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. ALL THEY DID WAS RECALIBRATE THE TRANSMISSION, WHICH DIDN'T FIX A DARN THING. THIS WAS RIGHT BEFORE I WENT ON VACATION. I HAD BEEN CALLING FORD MOTOR COMPANY ABOUT MY CONCERNS WITH THIS CAR. I FELT VERY UNSAFE DRIVING IT ON VACATION. WE ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED 3 TIMES BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. AT 15200 MILES IT WAS BACK AT THE SHOP AGAIN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY JUST KEEP WANTING TO RE CALIBRATE THE TRANSMISSION AND NOT REALLY FIX THE PROBLEM. I FEEL THAT SOMEONE WILL HAVE TO GET KILLED BEFORE THEY FINALLY ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM CORRECTLY. AT 17600 IT WAS ONCE AGAIN AT THE GARAGE FOR THIS PROBLEM. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP A TOTAL OF 26 DAYS AND IT STILL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS IT DID FROM THE START. THE TRANSMISSION IS A PIECE OF CRAP AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITH A BETTER WORKING TRANSMISSION. FORD NEEDS TO OWN UP TO THEIR MISTAKE AND MAKE IT RIGHT FOR THE CONSUMERS.
TAKATA RECALL - I HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING JERKING AND STUTTERING WITH MY VEHICLE SINCE I PURCHASED IT NEW IN 2014. MY VEHICLE WILL STUTTER AND JERK UPON PRESSING THE GAS FROM A STANDSTILL IN TRAFFIC, ON A HIGHWAY AND IT IS EVEN WORSE GOING UPHILL. IT IS SLOW TO PICK UP SPEED NO MATTER HOW MUCH PRESSURE I PUT ON THE GAS PEDAL. NOW THERE IS AN ISSUE WITH SOMETHING REVVING UNDER THE HOOD AND ALSO WITH THE VEHICLE OVERHEATING. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL NEAR ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE VEHICLES JERKING AND STUTTERING WHEN MOVING FROM A STOPPED POSITION TO A FORWARD MORTION IN TRAFFIC. THESE INCIDENTS HAVE HAPPENED OVER THE COURSE OF FIVE YEARS OF ME PURCHASING THE VEHICLE NEW. THE STUTTERING AND JERKING HAPPENS DAILY.
I BOUGHT MY FOCUS IS LATE APRIL OF 2014. AFTER ONLY A MONTH I STARTED TO NOTICE THAT WHEN I WOULD ACCELERATE AFTER STOPPING FOR A LIGHT OR SIGN, MY CAR WOULD DO THIS "PUTTERING" THING. THEN I GOT CAUGHT IN RUSH HOUR DRIVING HOME AND WOW, ANYTIME I WOULD START TO ACCELERATE IT FELT LIKE I WAS DRIVING A MANUAL FOR THE FIRST TIME. I CALLED FORD AND THEY SAID THAT MY CAR WAS STILL "LEARNING HOW TO DRIVE" AND THAT ONCE I REACHED 1500 MILES THE PROBLEM WOULD GO AWAY. WELL, HERE I AM 4 MONTHS LATER AND 4000 MILES UNDER THE HOOD AND THE PROBLEM STILL HAPPENS ON A DAILY BASIS. I'VE KIND OF LEARNED TO DRIVE WITH IT DOING THAT, BUT IT'S EXTREMELY EMBARRASSING WHEN I HAVE PEOPLE IN MY CAR AND IT'S JERKING AND JOLTING ALL OVER THE PLACE. MY ISSUE WHICH I CONSIDER A SAFETY ISSUE IS WITH THE TRANSMISSION, JUST A FEW DAYS AFTER PURCHASING THE CAR I HAPPENED TO BE DRIVING IN STOP & GO TRAFFIC ON THE BALTIMORE BELTWAY AND THAT IS WHEN I FIRST EXPERIENCED THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE. WHEN THE CAR FINALLY SELECTED THE GEAR IT WANTED TO BE IN THE CAR WOULD LURCH FORWARD RAPIDLY. I CONSIDER THE LURCHING FORWARD IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC A SAFETY ISSUE, HOWEVER MY BIGGEST SAFETY CONCERN IS (HESITATION) THE SECOND OR TWO IT TAKES FOR THE CAR TO START FORWARD. SINCE YOU HAVE REMOVED YOUR FOOT FROM THE BRAKE AND HAVE ATTEMPTED TO START FORWARD I AM CONCERNED ABOUT BEING REAR ENDED BY THE CAR/TRUCK BEHIND ME. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS CONDITION ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS IN STOP & GO TRAFFIC AND WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A SHARP TURN. THE CAR SHOULD BE SMART ENOUGH TO HAVE A SMOOTH SHIFTING TRANSMISSION IN ALL INSTANCES. I AM ALSO CONCERNED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WILL FAIL BECAUSE OF ALL THE CLANGING/GRINDING AND CAUSE ADDITIONAL ISSUES AND COST ADDITIONAL MONEY THERE IS ANOTHER ISSUE THAT MAY BE A PROBLEM, THE ELECTRONIC ASSIST POWER STEERING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS DOES NOT RESPOND AS ANY OTHER CAR I HAVE DRIVEN, THE STEERING SEEMS VERY LOOSE AND CONSTANTLY NEEDS TO BE CONTROLLED (MORE THAN NORMAL), ALSO WHEN CHANGING LANES IT TAKES MORE EFFORT ON THE DRIVERS PART TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. I HAVE A FORD FOCUS ST, I DID NOT SEE THAT IN THE VEHICLE LIST. I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT, WITH TRAFFIC BEHIND ME, AND MY CAR STALLED WHILE DRIVING. I DROVE IT ABOUT 100 MILES SATURDAY NIGHT, THEN ANOTHER 100 ON SUNDAY. MONDAY AFTERNOON I LEFT FOR WORK. MY DRIVE CONSISTS OF ABOUT TWO MILES FROM MY RESIDENCE TO THE EXPRESSWAY THEN 18 MILES HIGHWAY AND LESS THAN A MILE TO THE PARKING LOT OFF THE EXIT. AS I GOT OFF THE EXIT I GOT INTO THE LEFT TURNING LANE WHICH CROSSES TWO SETS OF RAILROAD TRACKS AND TAKES A LONG SWOOPING LEFT HAND TURN TO A LIGHT. THEN THE PARKING LOT IS ABOUT A HALF MILE UP ON THE RIGHT. ACCELERATING OVER THE TRACKS AND IN MID TURN THE STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED IN THE INFORMATION BOX ON THE CLUSTER. I HAD NO POWER STEERING UP UNTIL I GOT IN THE PARKING LOT, TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF, OPENED THE DOOR, WAITED A MINUTE, THEN STARTED THE CAR BACK AND IT RESET. THEN TWO DAYS LATER, WEDNESDAY, THE SAME SCENARIO REPEATED ITSELF AND ONCE AGAIN ON FRIDAY. THEN SATURDAY EVENING I DROVE THE CAR TO A RESTAURANT FOR DINNER ABOUT 25 MILES FROM THE HOUSE, MOSTLY HIGHWAY, WITH NO ISSUES. ONCE WE LEFT THE RESTAURANT AND GOT BACK INTO TOWN THE STEERING FAILED ACCELERATING AROUND A TURN FROM A STOP LIGHT ABOUT 10 MILES FROM THE RESTAURANT. ONCE WE ARRIVED AT THE ICE CREAM PARLOR AND THEN LEFT AGAIN, IT RESET. WE LEFT THE PARLOR AND ABOUT 10 MILES FROM THE PARLOR I STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, WENT TO ACCELERATE FROM THE LIGHT, DID NOT TURN IN EITHER DIRECTION, DRIVE PATH WAS STRAIGHT, AND NOTICED THE WARNING LIGHT APPEAR AGAIN WITH NO POWER STEERING THE REST OF THE WAY HOME. ONCE WE ARRIVED HOME I ASSUMED THAT IT WOULD RESET, HOWEVER THE NEXT MORNING (SUNDAY) I WENT TO START IT AND THE FIRST THING THAT POPPED UP WAS THE WARNING LIGHT AGAIN AND I HAVEN'T HAD POWER STEERING SINCE THEN. *TR
I HAVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS OVER THE PAST YEAR, THE CAR WILL BE ACCELERATING AND WITH OUT WARNING, THE POWER TRAIN WILL PAUSE/SEEM TO SLIP/SLIGHT SHUDDER FOR A SECOND OR TWO AND THEN THE VEHICLE RESUMES OPERATING NORMALLY. GENERALLY, THIS HAPPENS IN THE MORNING AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT A MILE. HAPPENS IN DIFFERENT SEASONS OF THE YEAR. DOES NOT SEEM TO HAPPEN RIGHT AS I SHIFT INTO THE NEXT GEAR UP. I AM GENUINELY CONCERNED THAT I WILL BE DRIVING AT SOME POINT AND LOSE MY POWER TRAIN IN A SITUATION THAT WILL PUT ME AT RISK (MERGING INTO TRAFFIC, TURNING ACROSS TRAFFIC, CROSSING A RAILROAD CROSSING, OR OTHER SITUATION IN WHICH I HAVE TO MOVE OR FEAR RISK OF BEING HIT). THERE HAS NOT BEEN A REPEATABLE EXPERIENCE THAT WOULD MAKE TAKING THE CARE IN FOR SERVICE EFFECTIVE. I AM PAST THE WARRANTY PERIOD OF 36,000 MILES (I DRIVE ABOUT 100 MILES PER DAY IN MY COMMUTE) AND I FEAR THAT I WILL BE STUCK WITH EXPENSIVE BILLS TO FIX WHAT IS CLEARLY A DEFECT ISSUE. I PLACED MY CAR IN REVERSE AT AN INCLINE ON MY DRIVEWAY I TRIPLE CHECKED THE TAIL LIGHTS, GEARS ON DASH AND ON SHIFTER KNOB TO VERIFY THAT THE CAR WAS IN FACT IN REVERSE HOWEVER MY CAR INSTEAD MOVING IN REVERSE WAS MOVING FORWARD. I CHECKED AGAIN AND LET GO OF GAS AND AGAIN IT CREPT FORWARD. PLACED IT IN NEUTRAL AND IT TOO WENT FORWARD AS WELL (TRIPLE CHECKED THE VEHICLE TO BE SURE I WAS IN THE RIGHT GEAR). THIS CAR GAVE NO WARNING OF WHAT IT WAS DOING OR THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS MALFUNCTIONING. OTHER PROBLEMS THE TRANSMISSION DOES IS THAT IT SHUDDERS ON ACCELERATION, MEANING ITS SHAKES LIKE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION CAR WHEN THIS CAR IS IN FACT AN AUTOMATIC. IT'S SHAKES A LOT IN TURNS, LOW SPEEDS, AND JUST ON ACCELERATION WITHOUT A FULL AND COMPLETE STOP. I HAVE TAKEN THIS VEHICLE TIME AND TIME AGAIN TO FORD AND I THEY ARE ONLY DOING THE MINIMAL WORK. FORD HAS RESTARTED THE TRANSMISSION COMPUTER AND ONLY ONCE DID THEY REMOVE AND CHANGED A PART OF THE TRANSMISSION (CLUTCH WAS REMOVED AND CHANGED). I BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE WAITING FOR A FATALITY TO HAPPEN IN ORDER FOR FORD TO HAVE A RECALL. I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON HAVING THESE ISSUES. PEOPLE DRIVING THE 2013 FOCUS AND FIESTA ARE HAVING SIMILAR ISSUES. I HAVE TRIED THE LEMON LAW ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT I WAS AWARE OF WHAT I PURCHASED AND THAT IS THAT....THEY MAY TELL WHAT TECHNOLOGY IS IN THE VEHICLE AND HOW THIS SAVES GAS HOWEVER THEY FORGET THAT THE CONSUMER IS NOT AN EXPERT MECHANIC! THE ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT BUT SEEMS WORSE WHEN IT IS HOT, HUMID, OR RAINING. THE CAR MAY GO 200 MILES BETWEEN STALLING EVENTS. IT SEEMS TO OCCUR MORE FREQUENTLY IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. I HAVE RECORDED VIDEOS OF THIS HAPPENING BUT FORD WILL NOT TAKE ANY ACTION. AROUND 6 MONTHS INTO HAVING IT THE FOCUS STARTED TO SHUDDER ANYTIME THE GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED, THEN WILL TAKE OFF LIKE NORMAL AFTER A FEW SECONDS. THIS IS HAPPENING DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OR COMING FROM A STOP. WE'VE ALMOST BEEN HIT SEVERAL TIMES DUE TO DELAYS IN INTERSECTIONS. IT HAS BEEN TAKEN TO FORD MANY TIMES FIRST THEY WOULD TELL US "OH IT IS JUST THE WAY THE ENGINE WORKS, IT'S HOW YOU GET GREAT MILEAGE".. THEN HEARD ABOUT THE RECALL, TOOK IT IN AND THEY REPLACED THE AC CLUTCH TELLING US THAT IS WHY IT SHUDDERED. NOT EVEN A WEEK LATER SAME PROBLEMS STARTED HAPPENING. THEY KEPT REFUSING TO FIX THE PROBLEM. NOW, AFTER THE MANUFACTOR WARRANTY IS EXPIRED THEY TELL US THE CLUTCHES NEED TO BE REPLACED , AND THAT IT IS NOT COVERED UNDER TRANSMISSION WARRENTY.. THIS HAS BEEN ON GOING SINCE 2014, IT NEEDS TO BE FIXED. ALSO THE HORN STOPPED WORKING ONE DAY FOR NO REASON AT ALL, THEY LOOKED AT THAT IT. THE TECH SAID THEY NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE HORN AND THAT ITS A COMMON PROBLEM AMONG THE FOCUS . THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND FORD NEEDS TO FIX THESE PROBLEMS.
THE CAR HAS SEVERE TRANSMISSION ISSUES I HAVE ALMOST BEEN KILLED TWICE FOR BEING THROWN OUT INTO TRAFFIC ONCE AND TRYING TO PULL OUT ONTO A BUSY HIGHWAY. I PURCHASED THE CAR BRAND NEW. IT STARTED BOGGING OUT DYING IN SLOW TRAFFIC AND IN THE MIDDLE OF TURNS. I HAVE HAD IT IN THE SHOP 5 TIMES FOR SAME ISSUE NOTHING WAS RESOLVED. I HAVE ALMOST GOTTEN IN A COUPLE ACCIDENTS WHEN TURNING THE CAR DIES IN THE MIDDLE OF STREET AND I HAVE ALMOST BEEN T BONED. I SOUNDS LIKE THE ENGINE IS GOING TO FALL OUT AT TIMES. SOMETIMES WHEN IT STARTS TO DIE IT EXCELERATES AND SEND THE CAR FORWARD AT A FAST SPEED. I HAVE ONLY HAD CAR 18 MONTH. I AM TERRIFIED TO DRIVE THIS CAR!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION HESITATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DPS6 CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.
THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF, AND IDLE IS CONSTANTLY GOING TOO LOW. THE CAR WILL SOMETIMES SHUT OFF WHEN THE CLUTCH IS ENGAGED, AND THE RPM'S ARE ALLOWED TO FALL TO IDLE RANGE. THIS IS BECOMING A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THE CAR HAS DIED IN MIDDLE OF INTERSECTIONS, AND WHILE TRAVELING AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS. NUMEROUS OTHER OWNERS HAVE POSTED THE SAME ISSUE, SOME WITH LESS THAN 200 MILES. *TR
AFTER DRIVING INTO HOUSTON LAST YEAR, CAME TO A STOP LIGHT ON THE TOLLWAY. THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN, I PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR AND THE ENGINED REVVED HIGH FOLLOWED BY A METAL "CLAPPING/CLANKING" NOISE WHEN VEHICLE CHANGED GEARS. I TOOK MY FOOT OFF OF THE ACCELERATOR, BUT CAR STILL ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. I ENDED UP RUNNING INTO A CURB TO KEEP FROM HITTING OTHER VEHICLES. THE NEXT DAY, GOING UP A PARKING GARAGE AT 2-5MPH, TRANSMISSION EXHIBITED ERRATIC MOVEMENT AND HAD A SUDDEN ACCELERATION IN REVERSE (GEARSHIFT WAS IN THE "DRIVE" SLOT). A GIRL WAS PASSING BEHIND ME AND WAS STRUCK AS I WAS REACTING TO THE SUDDEN CHANGE IN DIRECTION TRYING TO BRAKE. SHE PUT HER HANDS OUT TO PUSH HERSELF AWAY AND HER RING SCRATCHED MY BACK BUMPER AND HER HAND DENTED IN MY BACK LICENSE PLATE. HER HAND WAS TURNING RED AND BRUISED, BUT SHE REFUSED TO LEAVE HER INFO WITH ME (SHE LOOKED TO BE ABOUT 15). SERVICE DEALERS IN HOUSTON COULD NOT "REPLICATE" PROBLEM AND SAID THIS IS "NORMAL." AFTER THIS INCIDENT, MY HIGHWAY MPG'S HAVE DROPPED FROM 35-42MPG TO NO MORE THAN 27MPG. CITY WENT FROM 26-30 TO NO MORE THAN 24MPG. DROVE TO AUSTIN IN APRIL, STRONG HESITATION AND "STUTTERING" FROM A COMPLETE OR NEAR STOP. AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, IT FEELS JUMPY. VEHICLE WILL ACCELERATE ON ITS OWN BETWEEN 5-20MPH, AND 45-55MPH. I DRIVE ON A COLLEGE CAMPUS WHERE SPEED IS 20MPH AND I WILL HAVE TO PUT CAR INTO NEUTRAL TO KEEP IT FROM ACCELERATING. I TOOK THIS VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AT AROUND 100 MILES - THEY GAVE ME A PRINTOUT FROM FORD SHOWING WHY THIS BEHAVIOR IS "NORMAL" AND WILL GET BETTER WITH MORE MILEAGE. AT AROUND 6000 MILES AT THE DEALERSHIP IN HOUSTON AFTER INJURING SOMEONE, THEY SAID IT WAS "NORMAL" FOR THIS VEHICLE TO EXHIBIT "UNDESIRABLE CONDITIONS" AND I JUST NEED TO FURTHER BREAK IN THE TRANSMISSION. NOW THE PROBLEM IS EVEN WORSE, AND MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP SAYS IT WILL TAKE AT LEAST 2 WEEKS IN THE SHOP.
O5-08-14 I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 2014 FORD FOCUS WITH 49 MILES ON IT. WITHIN 500 MILES I COMPLAINED OF A SHUDDER IN THE TRANSMISSION (TRANSMISSION: SLIPPING, JUMPING, HESITATING, SLOW TO ENGAGE, SAFETY HAZARD, FAULTY CLUTCH, MOSTLY ON TAKE OFF, ETC )AT 5900 MILES I TOOK IT IN FOR A SERVICE AND ASKED ABOUT THIS. I WAS TOLD THIS WAS NORMAL ITS THE NEW DUAL CLUTCH TRANSMISSION AKA DCT . IF THIS WAS NORMAL THEN WHY DID IT GET EXCESSIVELY WORSE AS I ADDED MILES? SO I BELIEVED THEM AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE UNTIL LATER IT CONTINUED TO WORSEN AND BE MORE NOTICABLE. 6-18-15 FORD REPLACED THE CLUTCH AND IT CONTINUED THE SAME PROBLEM WITHIN 500 MILES.
THIS ISSUE STARTED MAY OF 2014 WHEN MY VEHICLE WAS AT 13,000 MILES. WHEN AT A STOP LIGHT AS I RELEASE MY FOOT FROM THE BRAKE THE CAR WILL SHAKE IN IDLE. ONCE I PRESS ON THE GAS THE RPMS WILL SLOWLY GO TO AROUND 2000 RPMS. AT THIS POINT THE ENTIRE CAR WILL SHAKE THEN JUMP INTO THE NEXT GEAR. THIS IS HIGHLY UNSAFE AS THE CAR WILL JUMP FORWARD. I HAVE ALMOST HIT SEVERAL VEHICLES IN FRONT OF ME BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. LUCKLY NOTHING HAS HAPPENED YET HOWEVER THE DEALERSHIP SAYS IT IS OPERATING WITHIN NORMAL PARAMETERS ESTABLISHED BY FORD. I HAVE TAKEN IT IN ON TWO OCCASIONS AND AM GOING TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP FOR A SECOND OPINION. FROM MY DISCUSSIONS WITH FORD'S CUSTOMER SERVICE THE PROBLEM CANNOT BE FIXED AS NOTHING HAS BEEN DIAGNOSED. IF THEY WOULD DRIVE THE CAR FOR MORE THEN A COUPLE MILES THEY WOULD FEEL THE ISSUE. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY BRAND NEW FORD ANYMORE. THIS ISSUE HAS CONTINUED TO OCCUR ON A DAILY BASIS. *JS
I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR 2 YEARS. I PURCHASED IT ON 5/3/2014 AND TOOK IT HOME TO NOTICE 2 DAYS LATER THAT THE TRIM OF THE BODY FRAME WAS COMING UNDONE AND ALSO THE FRONT BUMPER WAS DETACHING (IT WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE). I TOOK IT BACK AND GOT THE PARTS FIXED. THEN A MONTH LATER I RETURNED IT BACK TO THE SHOP FOR STALLING, HESITATION, RPM'S GOING UP TO 5, VIBRATION OF CAR AND GOT THE PCM/TCM REPROGRAMMED. THIS WAS ALL GOING ON WHILE DRIVING DOWN ANY ROAD AND GOING ON THE GAS FROM A LIGHT/STOP SIGN. I'VE HAD THE CLUTCH REPLACED (TOOK 3 MONTHS OF CAR IN SHOP TO DO THAT). HAD THE PCM/TCM REPROGRAMED ABOUT 8-9 TIMES. MY CAR HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP AT LEAST 11 TIMES IN THE LAST 2 YEARS. I JUST PICKED IT UP LAST NIGHT FOR ANOTHER REPROGRAM OF THE TRANS AND ITS STILL HESITATING, HAS A RATTLING NOISE WHEN GOING ON THE GAS AND A VERY SERIOUS SHAKE TO THE WHOLE CAR. BUT I GET TOLD THE CAR IS FIXED OR NOTHING IS WRONG. OPEN YOUR EYES BECAUSE THERE IS DEFINITELY SOMETHING WRONG WITH THESE CARS......... I HAVE DOCUMENTS AND PICTURES TO PROVE IT.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, WHO REPLACED THE CLUTCH A SECOND TIME AND A FUEL VACUUM LINE BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. A FOURTH OCCASION, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED A THIRD TIME, HOWEVER THE PART WAS ON BACK ORDER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16.
ENGINE STALLS AT DRIVING SPEEDS. FORD ISSUED A TSB FOR THIS VEHICLE BUT DEALERS ARE REFUSING TO DO THE TSB BECAUSE IT IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. THE TSB CONCERNS FAULTY ENGINE WIRING HARNESS. (TSB 13-9-7). *TR
FORD FOCUS ST 2014 ON HOT / HUMID DAY WHEN YOU START THE CAR UP THE ENGINE REVS WILL DROP TO <500 RPM AND THE ENGINE WILL SHUTTER OR COMPLETELY STALL. IN ADDITION, WHILE TRAVELLING AT SPEEDS 10-20 MPH WHEN THE CLUTCH GETS PUSHED IN THE ENGINE WILL HUNT IDLE FROM XRPM AND DROP TO <500RPM RAPIDLY AND THE CAR WILL SHUTTER OR COMPLETELY STALL. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MY CAR DOWN THE ROAD AND HAD IT COMPLETELY STALL WHILE MOVING. IF THIS HAPPENS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD OR INTERSECTION IT IS SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS. FORD IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE, BUT ARE NOT FIXING THE ELECTRICAL PROBLEM UNLESS A SPECIFIC ENGINE CODE IS STORED IN THE COMPUTER. IT HAS BEEN PROVEN THAT THE ENGINE WILL STALL IN THESE SITUATIONS AND STILL NOT THROW AN ENGINE CODE, THUS, FORD WILL NOT PERFORM THE SERVICE. *TR

WHILE DRIVING MY CAR HERE AND THERE IT HAS HESITATED TO GO AND ALMOST FEELS LIKE IT IS OUT OF GEAR. WHEN IT STARTS TO GO IT STUTTERS. RECENTLY IT HAS BEEN GETTING WORSE. TWO DAYS AGO I WAS IN TRAFFIC GOING 35 AND MY CAR WENT FROM RPM RAISING AS I HIT GAS PEDAL TO MY SPEED DROPPING. I HAD TO QUICKLY TURN OUT OF TRAFFIC SHUT MY CAR OFF AND RESTART IT. IT NOW HAS DONE THIS TWICE. I TO HAVE TAKEN IT AND THEY SAID IT IS NORMAL. I DO NOT KNOW OF ANY VEHICLE THAT SHOULD BE NORMAL JERKING THE DRIVER OR HESITATING IN TRAFFIC WHEN TRYING TO GO. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE WHEN TRANSPORTING CHILDREN. THE DEALER STATED IT WAS TRYING TO GET USE TO MY DRIVING SO IT CAN ADJUST TO HOW I DRIVE. REALLY!!! IT IS NOT NORMAL TO FEEL LIKE YOUR TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND YOU ARE GETTING WHIP LASH JUST DRIVING A CAR NORMAL. I WAS NEVER TOLD THIS WHEN I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE OR GOD AS MY WITNESS I WOULD NEVER OF BOUGHT IT. IT IS SCARY AND CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ISSUES IN HEAVY TRAFFIC FLOW.
