I BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW 2 MOS AGO , IT HAS ALWAYS HAD WEIRD STEERING. AS YOU'RE DRIVING IT GETS VERY STIFF AND '"DARTEY" AND IT DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN A STRAIGHT LINE WITHOUT CONSTANT CORRECTION AND IS VERY SENSITIVE AT HIGHER SPEEDS, YOU CHANGE LANES QUICKLY AND WITH LITTLE EFFORT. I TALKED TO THE SERVICE CONSULTANT AT THE DEALERSHIP AND HE SAID THEY CAN LOOK AT IT BUT HAVEN'T HAD ANY COMPLAINTS,BUT I SEE ALOT OF COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET. I FEEL THIS CAR IS UNSAFE AND WOULD APPRECIATE YOUR INPUT, THANK YOU. *TR
TRANSMISSION CAUSES VEHICLE TO JERK AND SHIMMY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. WILL NOT ACCELERATE WHILE DOING THIS, CAUSING DANGER WHEN THERE IS ANOTHER VEHICLE BEHIND OR LEAVING A STOP SIGN. TRANSMISSION CLUTCH WAS REPLACED DUE TO THIS ISSUE AND THESE ISSUES STARTED AGAIN AFTER APPROXIMATELY ONE YEAR.
AT ~18,000 MILES VEHICLE STARTED TO HESITATE UPON ACCELERATION TO A POINT THE CAR WOULD STALL ENOUGH THAT THE VEHICLE BEHIND US HAD TO BRAKE HARD TO AVOID COLLISION; EXPERIENCING HEAVY SHUTTERING AND VIBRATION WHEN VEHICLE CHANGES GEARS. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER ON 10/24/13, ADVISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION CLUTCHES ARE DEFECTIVE, PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER. REPAIRED AT 20,166 MILES ON 12/05/13. AT ~29,000 MILES STARTED TO EXPERIENCE SAME PROBLEM AS DESCRIBE ABOVE; TOOK IN TO DEALER ON 8/19/14, CONFIRMED THAT THE PROBLEM IS PRESENT, FURTHERMORE UPON INSPECTION DEALER ADVISED THAT FRONT TIRES ARE AT '0' WEAR AND NOTED THEY WERE 'UNSAFE', SERVICE MANAGER STATED THAT IS DUE TO THE EXCESSIVE VIBRATION AND SLIPPAGE OF THE TRANSMISSION. PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER. CAR IS UNSAFE, UNEXPECTED HARD HESITATION IS CAUSING NEAR REAR END COLLISION. TIRE SLIPPAGE IS CAUSING VEHICLE TO HYDROPLANE/SLIP ON WET ROADS. *TR
LOW GRINDING NOISE COMING FROM FRONT OF CAR AFTER TURNS, INCLINES, ACCELERATING AFTER A STOP. SOUNDS LIKE ALUMINUM CANS GRINDING. ALSO, LOSS OF POWER IN CAR ACCELERATION FOR BRIEF PERIODS WHEN DRIVING, ESPECIALLY WHEN ACCELERATING ON THE FREEWAY TO MERGE INTO TRAFFIC. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH UP AN INCLINE, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL VIBRATING NOISE COMING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE JERKED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20.
WHEN THE VEHICLE COMES TO A COMPLETE STOP IT ROLLS BACKWARDS BEFORE YOU CAN PLACE YOUR FOOT ONTO THE ACCELERATOR. THE VEHICLE WILL ALSO PULL ITSELF FORWARD OR BACKWARD FROM THE BOTTOM OF A HILL AND CLEARS THE HILL WITHOUT MANUAL ACCELERATION. THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS AND CAUSES A JERKING MOVEMENT WHILE PULLING OFF. IN ESSENCE, THE VEHICLE WILL CONTINUE ROLLING WHEN THE FOOT IS NOT ON THE BRAKE WHICH SERVES AS A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT RISK. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP IN WHICH IT WAS PURCHASED FROM AND I WAS TOLD BY THE MANAGER TO TAKE IT TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WHERE I WAS THEN TOLD BY THEM THAT THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH HILL ASSIST AND THAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO ACT IN THAT MANNER. IN THE FORD CAR MANUAL IT DOES MENTION THE ACTION OF HILL ASSIST BUT IT DOES NOT STATE THAT THE CAR IS SUPPOSED TO ROLL BACKWARD OR FORWARD UP A HILL WITHOUT HILL ASSIST BEING ON. *TR
MY CAR HAS SEVERAL ISSUES WHICH ARE NOT SAFE TO DRIVE WITH AND DEALERSHIP CANNOT FIX THEM: 1. VIBRATION ON THE BRAKE PEDAL WHEN I LET THE CAR GO FROM A STOP BEFORE PUSHING THE GAS. 2. TRANSMISSION IS JERKY WHEN I ACCELERATE, IT SEEMS TO STOP, GO BACK AND FORTH, AS IF SOMEBODY'S PULLING ME BACK 3. ANTIFREEZE SMELL WHEN I TURN ON THE AC (HAVE A HEADACHE) *JS
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. WHILE ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AT LOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO ACCELERATE AND SHUTTERED WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL SOUND EMITTING FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER, BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNDETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
PURCHASED 2014 FOCUS NEW, SHORTLY AFTER THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO SLIP AND SHUDDER. RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TWICE AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NORMAL FOR THE VEHICLE DURING THE INITIAL DRIVING DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION AND THE COMPUTER LEARNING TO TALK TO ONE ANOTHER. THE SHUDDERING BECAME WORSE. TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALER THAN THE ONE WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED. THEY "RESET" THE COMPUTER. THE SHUDDERING RESUMED. THE CLUTCHES WERE REPLACED. THE CAR HAS AGAIN STARTED SHUDDERING. THE DEALER HAS AGAIN "RESET" THE COMPUTER. THE HESITATION/SHUDDERING IS BAD ENOUGH UPON ACCELERATION I AM AFRAID OF BEING HIT BY OTHER MOTORISTS.
DELAYED ACCELERATION AND PROBLEMS WITH DOWNSHIFTING RESULT IN UNSAFE MOVEMENT. THESE UNSAFE CONDITIONS OCCUR WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, DECELERATING, AND WHILE IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAYS. THE CLUTCH HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE AND YET THE PROBLEM CONTINUES. MY VEHICLE ONLY HAS 38,000 MILES ON IT. THESE PROBLEMS HAVE BEEN PRESENT SINCE THE DAY I DROVE THE BRAND NEW CAR OFF THE LOT. I HAVE NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS YET, BUT FEEL VERY UNSAFE AND AN ACCIDENT IS INEVITABLE. FORD SERVICE HAS BEEN UNABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM.
I HAVE THE SAME ISSUES AS EVERYONE ELSE WITH MY CLUTCH/TRANSMISSION. IT CAUSES MY CAR TO JUMP, STALL, GRIND, FAIL TO SHIFT, ROLL, ETC. I HAVE BEEN IN NUMEROUS NEAR-ACCIDENTS AND FORD WON'T BUY BACK THIS UNSAFE CAR BECAUSE OF OKLAHOMA'S LEMON LAWS. I HAVE HAD THE CLUTCH REPLACED TWICE NOW AND WORK DONE ON THE TRANSMISSION. I GOT THE CAR BACK TWO WEEKS AGO AND NOW IT'S BACK IN AGAIN WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. THE CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. IF YOU'RE READING THIS, DO NOT BUY A FORD FOCUS!
I WAS TRAVELING ABOUT 35 MPH WHEN MY CAR FLASHED A MESSAGE "STOP SAFELY NOW" AND THE CAR HAD LOST POWER TO THE WHEELS AND I WAS NOW JUST COASTING. I PULLED THE VEHICLE OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I WAS ABLE TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND GET IT STARTED AGAIN. I WAS LUCKY THAT I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY GET MY VEHICLE TO A SAFE PLACE HAD THIS BEEN ON A FREEWAY I WOULD HAVE SURELY BEEN IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND THE STOP SAFELY NOW WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE REPLICATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 1,323. RETURNED BY USPS ON 11-13-2013. SECOND ATTEMPT ON 11-19-2013 FAILED. *KB
2014 FORD FOCUS SE. THE CAR HAS ALWAYS SHUDDERED AND JERKED WHEN STARTING OFF FROM STOP. I AM AFRAID TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC UNLESS IT IS TOTALLY CLEAR. MY DAUGHTER HAS A 2012 FORD FOCUS AND IT DOES THE SAME THING. I RUN PREMIUM GAS AND THE TOP GRADE OIL. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2014 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS ON AN INCLINE, THE CONTACT STATED WHEN HE RELEASED THE BRAKE PEDAL THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO IMMEDIATELY TO ROLL BACKWARDS. THE VEHICLE ALSO SPUTTERED AND SHOOK WHILE ATTEMPTING TO INCREASE SPEED AND ALSO SPORADICALLY EMITTED A GRINDING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED THAT THE CLUTCH WAS BROKEN IN AND CALIBRATIONS WERE UP TO DATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE INCIDENT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 3215.
THE FIRST DAY I DRIVE THIS CAR BUT SALES PERSONNEL TOLD ME IT THE NEW FORD TRANSMISSIONS IS MADE. WHEN COME TO A STOP AN GETTING READY TO TAKE OFF YOU CAN'T GET THE POWER WHEN PUSH ON GAS PADDLE. TO GO HAVE WAIT FOR POWER TO KICK IN SLOWLY. WENT TO DEALERSHIPS BUT NO HELP. I HATE TO WAIT UNTIL I GET INJURY IN ORDER GET HELP.
TROUBLE WITH THE DUAL CLUTCH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FROM THE FIRST DAY OF OWNERSHIP. THE CAR NOW HAS 6K MILES AND THE PROBLEMS PERSIST. THE FOLLOWING PROBLEMS ARE EVEN WORSE DURING COLD WEATHER: THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS POORLY, ROUGHLY, MISSES SHIFTS, CHOOSES THE WRONG GEAR FOR THE VEHICLE SPEED, DISENGAGES AND SENDS THE ENGINE TO REDLINE THEN DROPS INTO GEAR WITH A BANG AND EITHER SLOWS THE VEHICLE WITH ENGINE BRAKING BECAUSE THE GEAR IS TOO LOW, OR LUGS THE ENGINE WITH NO ACCELERATION BECAUSE THE GEAR IS TOO HIGH. THE TRANSMISSION IS ALWAYS SHIFTING, AND SEEMS 'CONFUSED' AS TO WHAT GEAR THAT IT SHOULD BE IN. IN CITY DRIVING, IF I NEED TO SUDDENLY BRAKE, WHEN I RE-APPLY THE THROTTLE AGAIN, THE TRANSMISSION HANGS BETWEEN GEARS AND THE ENGINE REVS TO REDLINE THEN DROPS INTO GEAR AND CHIRPS THE TIRES. THE TRANSMISSION ALSO MAKES GRINDING NOISES WHEN CHANGING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. ALSO VERY SLOW TO DROP TO A LOWER GEAR WHEN THROTTLE IS PRESSED FOR QUICK ACCELERATION. TAKES ABOUT 2 SECONDS FOR IT TO DOWNSHIFT AND THEN ACCELERATE. ALSO, THE GEAR INDICATOR ON THE CONSOLE (PRNDS) DOESN'T LINE UP WITH THE SHIFTER OR ILLUMINATE TO SHOW WHICH GEAR IS SELECTED, SO IT'S DIFFICULT TO TELL WHETHER I'VE SELECTED REVERSE, NEUTRAL, OR DRIVE. IN ADDITION, THE DISPLAY ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL THAT SHOWS THE GEAR SELECTION SOMETIMES TAKES OVER 30 SECONDS TO ILLUMINATE OR 'BOOT UP' TO INDICATE WHAT GEAR IS SELECTED. I OFTEN END UP IN NEUTRAL WHEN I THINK I'VE CHOSEN REVERSE OR DRIVE WHILE I WAIT FOR THE INSTRUMENT PANEL INDICATOR TO 'BOOT UP'. THE DEALERSHIPS SAY THAT I HAVE THE CURRENT SOFTWARE, AND, "THEY ALL DO THAT." DANGEROUS, AND WILL PROBABLY ADD UP TO VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIRS AS IT CAN'T POSSIBLY BE RELIABLE UNDER THESE CONDITIONS. *TT

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT A CLUTCH WITHIN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I HAVE TAKEN THE FOCUS BACK TO THE DEALER 3 TIMES DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION SHUTTERING, SOMETIMES VERY VIOLENTLY, NO DOUBT A SAFETY HAZARD. IT STILL DOES THE SAME THING. I HAVE BEEN TOLD PARTS ARE ON ORDER, BUT NOT HEARD BACK FROM THEM IN MONTHS. THESE CARS SHOULD BE RECALLED.....
THIS IS EXACTLY THE ISSUE I'VE BEEN HAVING. 8/5/2016 I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR THE 3RD TIME CONCERNING THE TRANSMISSION. I WAS TOLD IT WAS NO LONGER A COVERED ISSUE. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR I ASKED FOR A DIFFERENT ONE BECAUSE THE ONE I TEST DROVE LITERALLY FELT LIKE THE TRANSMISSION WAS SLIPPING SO BAD I WASN'T GOING TO GET IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. I DROVE ANOTHER ONE AND IT WAS BETTER, HOWEVER STILL SHUTTERING. I WAS ASSURED BY THE SALES PERSON AT BEECHMONTFORD THIS WAS NORMAL,IT WAS A NEW TYPE OF TRANSMISSION WITH A DUAL CLUTCH.EVERYTIME I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE I COMPLAINED ABOUT THE TRANSMISSION GETTING WORSE. I WAS TOLD BY 2DIFFERENT SERVICE DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES THAT FORD WAS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND THEY WERE EXTENDING THE WARRENTY.THE SHUTTERING INCREASINGLY BECAME WORSE AND HAD BEGAN A LOUD GRINDING NOISE AND WAS STALLING SO BAD AT TAKE OFF I WAS WORRIED ABOUT HAVING AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF IT.THE ENGINE WOULD REV UP BUT WASN'T GOING ANYWHERE,THEN WOULD JERK INTO GEAR.IN DECEMBER OF 2015 I TOOK MY CAR BACK TO BEECHMONTFORD,THEY SAID IT NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE AND A NEW CLUTCH.TO WHICH MY CAR WAS AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 42DAYS.BECAUSE THE PROBLEM IS SO WIDE SPREAD THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER AND MY CAR WAS DEEMED TO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.THIS WAS COVERED UNDER A RECALL. ON JULY 15TH I TOOK THE CAR IN AND AGAIN MADE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE TRANSMISSION.I SPOKE TO A SERVICE PERSON WHO TOLD ME THAT FORD IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND THERE WAS AN UNBELIEVABLE AMOUNT OF VEHICLES COMING BACK IN FOR THE 2ND WITH THE EXACT SAME ISSUES AND THEY'RE REPLACING THE CLUTCH AGAIN.ON 8/5/2016 I TOOK MY CAR IN AND WAS THEN TOLD THIS TIME FORD WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIRS.I WAS TOLD AGAIN FORD'S AWARE OF THE ISSUES,FORD KNOWS IT'S DANGEROUS, YET THEY AREN'T COVERING IT TO HAVE IT FIXED AGAIN. ALTHOUGH IT WAS FIX IN DECEMBER FOR THE EXACT SAME ISSUE UNDER A RECALL.
THE CAR WAS SCARY TO DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY WITH UNCONTROLLABLE SWAYING HAD TO WHITE KNUCKLE THE STEERING WHEEL WITH COMPENSATION OF DARTY MOVEMENTS! BROUGHT TO THE DEALER THEY ALIGN IT 3 TIMES GOT BETTER BUT STILL NO COMPLETE REWARD. THEN FORD SAID REPLACE THE STEERING GEAR ! TEST DROVE HOME WITH MI SNOW ON THE ROADS WOW WAS IT SCARY TO DRIVE IT HOME EXTRA DARTING FISH TAIL EXPERIENCE. SINCE LAST REPAIR IT SEEMS TO GETTING BAD AGAIN 11000 MILE LATER WHILE DRIVING ON BUMPY ROADS IT DARTS BAD AND SWAY STEERING ! I BELIEVE ITS A COMB OF PROGRAMMING ISSUE OF STEERING GEAR AND RACK AND ROLL CONTROL !!! NEXT WILL NEED ENGINEER TO LOOK AT IT! *TR

THE CONTACT HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100.
TRANSMISSION STALLED AS I WAS ENTERING HIGHWAY, WAS ALMOST HIT. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS HARD, TRANSMISSION LIGHT HAS WARRNED OF OVERHEATING. THE CAR HAS BEEN TO THE SHOP SEVERAL TIMES, BUT IT STILL RUNS BADLY. MY DAUGHTER ALSO HAS THE SAME MODEL AND YEAR. HER CAR RUNS WORST THAN MINE. FORD HAS REFUSED TO HELP US WITH THE PROBLEM. IN FACT THAY HAVE REFUSED TO TALK TO US AT ALL. SOMEONE AT FORD NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE. IT ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED.
FROM DEAD STOP ON SLIGHT INCLINE THE CAR STARTS NORMALLY AND THEN JERKS AND HESITATES WHILE ATTEMPTED TO SHIFT INTO 2ND GEAR. THIS HAS CAUSED NUMEROUS CLOSE CALLS WITH TRAFFIC. DURING THE SHIFT FROM 1ST TO 2ND THE TRANSMISSION MAKES A VERY DISTINCT GRINDING SOUND (SOME PEOPLE HAVE COMPARED IT TO THE SOUND OF ALUMINUM CANS CRUSHING). THE DEALER CLAIMS THIS IS NORMAL OPERATION OF THEIR POWERSHIFT TRANSMISSION. I GUESS THE ENGINEERS DESIGNED IT SO IT MAKES THIS GRINDING SOUND DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS. *TR
TRANSMISSION SKIPPING AT SLOW SPEED AND START UP
I HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE SINCE JUST MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING MY BRAND NEW FOCUS. AS I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT WHILE THE VEHICLE IS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, IT USES A CLUTCH IN THE TRANSMISSION LIKE A MANUAL, RESULTING IN AN ISSUE WITH SHIFTING. WHEN ACCELERATING, THE VEHICLE SHUTTERS AND HESITATES, CAUSING SEVERE ISSUES DURING STOP-AND-GO TRAFFIC OR IN CITY DRIVING. ADDITIONALLY, AFTER THE SHUTTLE, THE VEHICLE WILL DO ONE OF TWO THINGS. IT WILL EITHER JERK FORWARD OR DO NOTHING AT ALL AFTER LETTING OFF THE GAS PEDAL. BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW WHICH IT WILL BE, KEEPING AT LEAST 20 FEET (USUALLY MORE) AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF YOU IS NECESSARY TO AVOID AN ACCIDENT. ADDITIONALLY, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCES THIS WHILE MERGING ON AN EXPRESS WAY. THE RPM GAUGE WILL SHOW A SIGNIFICANT INCREASE AS WELL AS THE SOUND, BUT THE VEHICLE WILL NOT REACT AS THE RPMS SHOW. IT WILL HESITATE AND THEN EITHER JERK FORWARD, OR NOTHING AT ALL. I HAVE TAKEN MY FOCUS TO MULTIPLE FORD SERVICE DEPARTMENTS AND EACH TIME, THE DEALERSHIP DOES NOT PROVIDE A PERMANENT SOLUTION. THEY WILL EXPLAIN THAT THEY FIXED IT, EITHER BY INSTALLING A NEW CLUTCH, OR GIVING IT A SYSTEM UPDATE, AND EACH TIME THE PROBLEM CONTINUES BACK. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIPS WHO HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO SOLVE IT FIVE SEPARATE TIMES. MOST RECENTLY, I HAVE NOTICE THE ISSUE BECOMING MORE SEVERE - ESPECIALLY AFTER DRIVING LONG DISTANCES. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE AND I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN FORD FOR NOT STEPPING UP AND TAKING OWNERSHIP OF THIS ISSUE.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Focus. The contact stated that when the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle started shaking abnormally. There were no warning lights illuminated. While driving approximately 50 MPH, the contact became aware that while attempting to accelerate, the RPMs increased, but the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the clutch had failed. The clutch was replaced under warranty. The failure persisted, and the clutch was replaced approximately 4 additional times. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and opened a case. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200.
THE CAR DOES NOT SHIFT CORRECTLY IT SPUTTERS WHEN ACCELERATING. WHEN ACCELERATING IT DOESN'T SHIFT PROPERLY LIKE ITS NOT GETTING ENOUGH GAS. ALSO WHEN YOU ARE SITTING IN TRAFFIC AND GO TO ACCELERATE IT JUMPS FORWARD. THIS CAR ALSO HAS DIED WHILE DRIVING AS IT IS SHIFTING GEARS. EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A DATE AT THE BOTTOM THIS HAS BEEN LIKE THIS SINCE I PURCHASED IT. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER ITS THE WAY I DRIVE IT THE COMPUTER SHIFTING HAS TO GET USE TO MY DRIVING HABITS.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER JURGESON FORD LOCATED IN RICH FIELD, UTAH WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CLUTCH WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CLUTCH WAS REPLACED BUT APPROXIMATELY 4 YEARS LATER THE FAILURE HAD REOCCURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24,000.
