TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 FORD FOCUS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE WOULD INTERMITTENTLY DOWNSHIFT INDEPENDENTLY WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS THEN NOTIFIED THAT HER VEHICLE WAS PLACED UNDER RECALL FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V169000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT GREEN FORD SERVICE CENTER (3800 W WENDOVER AVE, GREENSBORO, NC 27407). DESPITE THE RECALL REPAIR, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE PERSISTED. DUE TO THE FAILURE, THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT WAS THEN INFORMED THAT THE RECALL WAS A ONE-TIME REPAIR AND WAS OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE REPAIR WAS ONLY SUPPOSED TO LAST A YEAR. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND REMAINED IN THE POSSESSION OF THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
I LITERALLY JUST BOUGHT THIS CAR AND THE STEREO IS POPPING VERY LOUDLY WHEN IT IS TURNED OFF , LOUD, LOW NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK BUT TURNING THE CAR OFF AND ON. THIS A EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD FROM BEING SCARED FROM THE POPPING NOTICES OUT OF NO WHERE TO MY HEARING ON THE ROAD WHICH IS A DANGER. I HAVE READ MANY MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS HAPPENING BUT THERE IS NO RECALL. I AM ALSO HAVE POWER ISSUES TO WHERE MY CAR JERKS AND SHUDDERS AFTER A COMPLETE STOP LIKE IT DOESN'T WANT TO TAKE OFF WHICH IT SHOULD NOT DO. I HAVE READ MANY DEFECTS ON THIS PROBLEM TOO

LANDMARK FORD LINCOLN (12000 SW 66TH AVE, TIGARD, OR 97223, (503) 639-1131) WAS CONTACTED AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE CPV FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT TO CALL NHTSA TO FILE A COMPLAINT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
MY VEHICLE ACCELERATED WHEN I WAS SLAMMING FULL PRESSURE ON THE BRAKE AND CAUSED ME TO HIT A STORE, THANK THE LORD I HAD FULL COVERAGE AND IT ONLY DID COSMETIC DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE, I'VE ALSO HAD TIMES WHERE IT WILL SAY THE TRACTION CONTROL IS OUT OR IT HAS NO UPHILL START, MY MODEL DOESN'T HAVE THAT. I WOULD LIKE A REFUND ON MY VEHICLE BUT IT HAS ISSUES ALREADY.
EACH TIME YOU PUT GAS INTO THE VEHICLE IT WILL NOT START FOR SEVERAL MINUTES. THE ENGINE KEEPS TRYING TO START BUT IT WILL NOT KICK OVER. ALSO THE CAR HAS STALLED WHILE BEING DRIVEN DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND IT HAS TAKEN SEVERAL MINUTES TO START BACK. THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR REPLACED A SENSOR IN THE GAS TANK HOWEVER THIS DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. AFTER DOING MUCH RESEARCH I HAVE LEARNED THAT FORD HAD A SIMILAR ISSUE WITH THE 2.0 LITER FORD FOCUS
THE VEHICLE CONTINUALLY SURGES WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. VEHICLE HAS BEEN TAKEN IN REPEATEDLY AND I AM TOLD THAT THEY UPDATE SOFTWARE ON A MODULE. AM TOLD IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE BUT BECAUSE IT IS IN LITIGATION THEY CAN'T REPLACE TRANSMISSION. I WANT A SAFE CAR. I AM AFRAID TO LET MY GRANDCHILDREN RIDE IN IT. DATE BELOW FOR EVENT DATE IS MOST RECENT.
AFTER HAVING A RECALL DONE IN DECEMBER OF 2018 FOR THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE, OR KNOW AS RECALL 18S32 ALL THAT WAS PERFORMED WAS A REPROGRAM AND NOTHING ELSE. A YEAR LATER MY VEHICLE IS EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS AS BEFORE, THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 65K MILES ON IT. I CONTACTED MULTIPLE FORD DEALERSHIPS AS WELL AS FORD'S CORPORATE OFFICES AND WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD HAVE TO COME OUT OF MY OWN POCKET FOR ANY REPAIRS THAT NEEDED TO BE DONE REGARDING THE PROBLEMS I'M EXPERIENCING, BECAUSE RECALL 18S32 WAS ALREADY PERFORMED ON MY VEHICLE. AFTER FUELING UP AND STARTING MY CAR THE CAR WILL ALMOST STALL OUT, AS WELL AS TRYING TO STALL WHEN SITTING AT A RED LIGHT OR STOP SIGN. I'M ALSO EXPERIENCING A LACK OF POWER WHEN ACCELERATING. MY OBD SCANNER COMES UP WITH A FAULT CODE "P1450 UNABLE TO BLEED UP FUEL TANK VACUUM". A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE EXPERIENCING THIS PROBLEM EVEN AFTER GETTING THE RECALL 18S32 PERFORMED ON THEIR VEHICLES. IT SEEMS LIKE A TEMPORARY SOLUTION WAS PUT IN PLACE AND UNFORTUNATELY MANY PEOPLE ARE SUFFERING FROM IT, I WOULD LIKE TO SEE FORD RELEASE A PERMANENT FIX TO A POTENTIALLY VERY DANGEROUS PROBLEM!
WHILE IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC THE VEHICLES DPS6 DUAL-CLUTCH "POWERSHIFT" TRANSMISSION FAILED TO DOWNSHIFT PROPERLY CAUSING THE CAR TO REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF IT. IMPACT WAS ROUGHLY 15-25 MPH.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WINDWARD FORD OF HAWAII (725 KAILUA RD, KAILUA, HI 96734, 808) 266-7000) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THE FAILURE WAS SIMILAR TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V735000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that on three occasions while driving at various speeds, the vehicle began vibrating with a grinding sound coming from the front end of the vehicle while shifting gear. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that an unknown part needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to the same dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was taken to the residence. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
MY CAR WAS PART OF A RECALL I TOOK IT TO FORD AND SUPPOSEDLY IT WAS A QUICK FIX TIL THEY COULD INVESTIGATE AND FIND AN ACTUAL FIX FOR IT. IMMEDIATELY AFTER I GOT IT BACK FROM FORD I STARTED CALLING THE DEALER AS WELL AS FORD THEMSELVES TO INFORM THEM THAT MY CAR WAS NOT DRIVING RIGHT AND THAT SOMETHING NEEDED TO B DONE DUE TO IT BEING A SAFETY CONCERN. ON NOV 28 2019 I WAS APPROACHING A STOP SIGN AND WENT TO APPLY MY BRAKES AND AT THE MOMENT I DID THAT THE CARS DASH LIGHTS COMPLETELY LIT UP INCLUDING TRACTION LIGHT, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD BEEN ILLUMINATED SINCE I GOT IT BACK FROM FORD, THE ABS LIGHT AND THE UP HILL PARKING LIGHT. THE BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK OR STOP MY CAR IT SEEMED AS THOUGH MY CAR EITHER SHUT OFF OR JUST STOPPED RESPONDING TO ANY THING I TRIED TO DO TO GET IT UNDER CONTROL AND AVOID A CRASH, NOTHING WORKED. AS I GOT CLOSER TO THE INTERSECTION I HAD NO OTHER CHOICE BUT TO TURN THE WHEEL AND CONTINUE THROUGH THE INTERSECTION AND TRIED APPLYING MY BRAKES, ALL THIS RESULTED IN AN ACCIDENT WITH ME GOING OVER A CURB DOWN A DITCH INTO A RESERVOIR AND THEN I GOT BOUNCED BACK UP THE DITCH AND HIT A TREE WHICH FINALLY STOPPED MY CAR. MY CAR IS NOW TOTALED I'VE ONLY HAD OT FOR 17 MONTHS AND BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT I COMPLAINED SEVERAL TIMES TO FORD AND THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THERE WASNT A FIX AVAILABLE, NOW I'M OUT OF MY ONLY CAR I STILL OWE MONEY ON IT DUE TO IT BEING FINANCED, AND STILL FORD DOES NOT HAVE A FIX. I'M LUCKY TO HAVE ONLY WALKED AWAY WITH MINOR YET PAINFUL INJURIES BUT WHAT HAPPENS TO THE NEXT PERSON? FORD NEEDS TO STEP IT UP. IM.ENCLOSING SEVERAL PICTURES OF THE CAR ACCIDENT AS WELL AS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WHEN I GOT MY CAR BACK FROM THE DEALER AFTER IT WAS SUPPOSED TO B TEMPORARILY FIXED. THE POLICE REPORT IS UNAVAILABLE AT THIS TIME DUE TO THE ACCIDENT JUST HAPPENED A FEW DAYS AGO BUT ONCE I RECEIVE IT I CAN FORWARD IT.
I HAVE GOTTEN MY CAR TO THE DEALER FOR THE VARIOUS RECALLS AND MY CAR STILL IS UNSAFE FIVE SEPARATE INSTANCES MY CAR HAS SLOWED TO NEAR STOPPING AND THREE OF THOSE INSTANCES WHERE ON A MAJOR HIGHWAY WITH CHILDREN IN THE CAR OF THOSE THREE TIMES I'VE BEEN LUCKY THAT I HAVE STAYED AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE ON THE RIGHT NEAR THE EMERGENCY LANE. THIS CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE I HAVE THE SAME INSTANCE AND EVERY RECALL IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM. I'VE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALER TO CHECK ON IT AND EVERYTHING APPEARS TO BE WORKING PROPERLY UNTIL IT'S TIME TO DRIVE AND IT CONTINUES TO STALL AND STOP. I'VE MADE A COMPLAINT BEFORE REGARDING THIS VEHICLE. THIS VEHICLE IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THERE IS STILL NO SOLUTION TO THE ISSUE THAT CAN END UP COSTING LIVES. THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE RECALLED DUE TO ITS UNSAFE CONDITION YET THE COMPANY REFUSES TO TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THIS SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE.

THE KEY FOBS AND BATTERY WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 44,000.
RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE 18S32. I WENT TO FORD WEBSITE TO CHECK IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER RECALLS SO I COULD THEM WHILE DONE I'M OUT OF TOWN. THE ONLY RECALL IT LISTED IS THIS ONE, BUT WEBSITE SAYS RECALL INCOMPLETE
#1- ON AN INCLINE: AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, TRANSMISSION PERIODICALLY SHUDDERS AROUND 15-20 MPH WHEN SHIFTING GEARS AUTOMATICALLY. ALSO OCCURS FREQUENTLY WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO 10 MPH FOR A SPEED BUMP, THEN ACCELERATING MODESTLY; USUALLY OCCURS IN 15-20 MPH RANGE. #2- AFTER TRANSMISSION HEATS UP (DRIVING FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES), TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS AFTER COMING ALMOST TO A COMPLETE STOP, THEN TURNING ONTO ADJACENT STREET AND ACCELERATING MODERATELY. AGAIN, MOST OFTEN OCCURS BETWEEN 15-20 MPH. #3- HILLSIDE ASSIST ON AN INCLINE: SOMETIMES TRANSMISSION HOLDS VEHICLE IN PLACE, SOMETIMES VEHICLE ROLLS BACK. #4- FROM A DEAD STOP, ENGINE BOGS DOWN A LITTLE UPON INITIAL ACCELERATION UNLESS GAS PEDAL IS STRONGLY DEPRESSED. VEHICLE PURCHASED SEPTEMBER 2019 FROM DEALERSHIP, MULTIPLE EVENTS (OVER TWO DOZEN) OCCURRED BEGINNING ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AND CONTINUING OVER A THREE-MONTH (APPROXIMATELY 1,400 MILES DRIVEN) PERIOD.
VEHICLE EXPERIENCES CLUTCH SHUDDERING ON LIGHT ACCELERATION. FORD HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY BUT REFUSES TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE AS THE SERVICE TECH ADVISES, AFTER DRIVING IT, THAT IT ISN'T SEVERE ENOUGH YET, PER FORD'S ARBITRARY STANDARDS. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE SHUDDER OCCURS WHEN FIRST STARTING OUT FROM A STOP. THE NORMAL REACTION WHEN THIS OCCURS IS TO GIVE IT MORE GAS, RESULTING IN MORE RAPID ACCELERATION THAN PLANNED OR NECESSARY. THIS MAY RESULT IN LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY ON WET OR ICY ROADS. IT IS A DEFECTIVE PRODUCT, ACKNOWLEDGED BY FORD, BUT FORD REFUSES TO REPAIR IT, GAMBLING THAT I'LL SELL IT OR TIME ON THEIR EXTENDED 'WARRANTY' WILL RUN OUT BEFORE IT GETS BAD ENOUGH TO MEET THEIR ARBITRARY REPAIR THRESHOLD.
I WAS SENT A LETTER OF RECALL DEC 2018 FOR MY 2015 FORD FOCUS, REFERENCE 18S32; NHTSA RECALL 18V-735; I PROMPTLY TOOK MY CAR INTO AUTONATION FORD KATY TX FOR REPAIR, ON DEC 22 2018, WARRANTY CLAIM INVOICE# 981353 AT THIS TIME PCM WAS REPROGRAMMED AND IT CHECKED OK. ON OCT 30 2019 MY CAR WAS AT HALF TANK OF GAS, AND IT STALLED OUT REPEATEDLY, AND ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON. I TOOK IT BACK IN. IM CONCERNED THAT: 1) THE REPAIR WAS NOT EFFECTIVE 2) I NEED A CALIBRATION & INSPECTION ON THE POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE; REF RECALL 19S22N 3) MY CPV VALVE WAS NEVER REPLACED, AS FORD DID NOT HAVE THE PART AVAIL AT TIME OF RECALL DEC 2018. MY CAR IS SHOWING ALL SYMPTOMS OF CPV AND OR PCM FAILURE..I CANNOT LET MY GAS TANK GO TILL HALF FULL OR BELOW, OR IT SURELY STALLS AND ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, ALSO THE LOW IDLE IS V ROUGH, CLASSIC CPV OR PMC FAILURE SYMPTOMS [XXX] CELL [XXX] WORK PHONE [XXX] MY DEALER CLAIMS MY CPV IS FIXED AND I DO NOT HAVE RIGHT TO RECALL 19S22N THIS IS JUST WRONG, IN MY OPINION, IT WAS NEVER FIXED, REPLACED IN THE BEGINNING. CAR BEGAN SHUDDERING AND THEN WOULD NO LONGER SHIFT GEARS OR ACCELERATE WHILE GOING UP AN ON RAMP TO THE HIGHWAY. HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL TO ROLL OUT OF TRAFFICS WAY.
SLIPPED TRANSMISSION, IT HESITATES TO GO, WHEN STOPPED AT STOP LIGHT. IT HAS A SALVAGED TITEL
IT SOUNDS AS IF A BOLT HAS COME LOOSE INSIDE THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. IT ROLLS FORWARD AND BACK WITH EVERY ACCELERATION AND STOP. IT HAPPENED WHEN I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE SHOP TO HAVE THEM REPAIR THE CLUTCH THAT HAD BEEN RECALLED. IT DIDN'T DO IT WHEN I DROPPED IT OFF, BUT IT WAS DOING IT WHEN I PICKED IT UP. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR AN ALIGNMENT AND WAS NOTIFIED THAT THE WHEEL BARREL AND WHEEL HUB NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT ALSO MENTIONED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WINDOW FAILED TO FUNCTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,066.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION MOTOR CLUTCH FAILED AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE THEN WAS TAKEN TO AUTONATION FORD KATY (20777 KATY FREEWAY, KATY, TX 77450, (281) 305-8949) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V479000 (POWER TRAIN) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE WAS EXPIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 151,500.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 56,000.
VEHICLE SHUTTERS VERY BADLY IN FIRST GEAR. FORD SENT OUT A LETTER IN SEPTEMBER EXTENDING THE WARRANTY TO INCLUDE A FREE CLUTCH REPAIR, BUT DEALERSHIPS REFUSE TO FIX THE PROBLEM INSTEAD OPTING TO 'UPDATE' THE SOFTWARE, WHICH DOES NOTHING.
MY 2015 FORD FOCUS 2.0 SEDAN ELECTRIC RANDOMLY HAD THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME ON AND STARTED SHIFTING ABNORMALLY AND OUT OF CONTROL. AT FIRST IT WOULDN'T SHIFT PROPERLY AND THEN OUT OF NOWHERE IT REVVED UP HIGH AND MADE MY VEHICLE ACCELERATE DOWN THE ROAD ALMOST CAUSING ME TO WRECK.
HAD RECALL SERVICE DONE FOR FUEL TANK DEFORMATION ISSUE OR SO THE DEALERSHIPS SAYS. RECALL NEEDS TO BE FURTHER RESEARCHED OR DEALERSHIP NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED FOR FRAUDULENTLY CLAIMING TO COMPLETE RECALL PROCEDURES AND NOT DOING SO.
I PURCHASED THE CAR WITH 6K MILES 18 MONTHS AGO AND HAVE DRIVEN IT FOR APPROXIMATELY 15K MILES SINCE THEN. DURING THAT TIME I'VE EXPERIENCED A RECURRING, PERSISTENT AND SEVERE TRANSMISSION SHUDDER THAT MAKES THE CAR LURCH AND LAG WHEN STARTING FROM A STOP OR SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND GEAR (ALTHOUGH IT IS LESS SEVERE - STILL VERY NOTICEABLE, BUT NOT SCARY WHEN SHIFTING FROM 1ST TO 2ND). STARTING FROM A STOP IS THE MAJOR SAFETY-RELATED CONCERN FOR ME BECAUSE THE DRIVER HAS A SENSE OF LOSING CONTROL. I ASSUMED SINCE THE CAR WAS USED IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THEN A MONTH AGO I RECEIVED A LETTER FROM FORD SAYING THE WARRANTY HAD BEEN EXTENDED ON THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDER. THE LETTER HAD MY VEHICLE VIN NUMBER ON IT SO I ASSUMED IT APPLIED TO MY VEHICLE. AFTER TAKING IT TO MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP THEY SAID MY CAR WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY BECAUSE IT HAD PREVIOUSLY BEEN WRECKED (PRIOR TO MY PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE). THEY CHARGED ME $250 TO DIAGNOSE AND CONFIRM IT HAS A SEVERE TRANSMISSION SHUDDER PROBLEM, WHICH THEY SAID WAS NOT COVERED BY FORD. THEY ESTIMATED THE NECESSARY REPAIR TO THE CLUTCH AND ACTUATOR TO BE $2,100. I CALLED THE FORD HOTLINE CONFUSED ABOUT THE LETTER I RECEIVED ONLY TO BE TOLD AGAIN THE WARRANTY DOESN'T APPLY TO ME BECAUSE THE CAR WAS PREVIOUSLY WRECKED. I UNDERSTAND A PREVIOUS WRECK MAY VOID THE WARRANTY, BUT IN THIS CASE IT SEEMS AN EXCEPTION IS WARRANTED AS THIS A WELL-KNOWN TRANSMISSION PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL AND MY SYMPTOMS ARE IDENTICAL TO THOSE DOCUMENTED ELSEWHERE. FORD ALSO REFUSED TO REIMBURSE ME THE $250 I PAID TO HAVE THE PROBLEM DIAGNOSED, WHICH I DID BECAUSE THEY SENT ME A LETTER TELLING ME MY WARRANTY HAD BEEN EXTENDED. FORD SHOULD BE REQUIRED TO FIX THIS PROBLEM EVEN ON CARS WHICH OTHERWISE DON'T QUALIFY FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE OF SOME TECHNICALITY.
THE RPM'S CONSTANTLY JUMP UP AND DOWN FROM 2-4, NOT ACCELERATING SOMETIMES WHEN I HIT THE GAS STALLING AND ALMOST PAUSING HAPPENS ALL THE TIME. ALSO, THE GEAR SWITCHES ARE NOT IN A SAFE LOCATION. I DON'T USE THEM AND HAVE ACCIDENTALLY HIT THEM WHILE DRIVING WHICH LEAD TO SUDDEN STOPS ON THE EXPRESSWAY PUTTING ME AT RISK TO BE REAR ENDED. HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES.
FORD ISSUED A RECALL FOR MY FORD FOCUS BECAUSE THERE'S AN ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE'S CLUTCH. EVERYTHING WAS SUPPOSED TO BE COVERED WITH NO EXPENSE TO ME. UPON DELIVERING THE CAR TO A FORD DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD BE CHARGED $145 FOR THEM TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC CHECK TO LOCATE THE SEVERITY OF THE ISSUE TO MY CLUTCH. IF THE RESULTS COME BACK SHOWING THE CLUTCH TO BE THE ISSUE THEN THE FEE WOULD BE WAIVED, BUT IF IT TURNS OUT TO BE ANOTHER ISSUE THEN I'D BE FOUND LIABLE FOR THE CHARGE. IN THIS INSTANCE BECAUSE THERE'S A RECALL THAT HAS BEEN ISSUED BY FORD, I DO NOT FEEL THAT I SHOULD BE GETTING CHARGED JUST TO HAVE THEM LOOK OVER THE VEHICLE.
MY 2015 FORD FOCUS HAS A HORRIBLE CLUTCH SHUDDER AND SLIPS WHEN YOU TRY TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC. I HAVE SPOKEN TO FORD ABOUT THIS AND THEY CLAIM THERE IS NO ISSUE THAT WOULD CAUSE THE SLIPPAGE. THEY RECOGNIZE THERE IS A SHUDDER PROBLEM, BUT REFUSE TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THIS. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY CONCERN AND THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING WITH THE VEHICLE. THE TITLE IS BRANDED DUE TO AN ACCIDENT INVOLVING THE REAR PASSENGER CORNER AND IT BEING A CHEAP CAR. THE ACCIDENT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE HORRIBLE TRANSMISSION/CLUTCH THEY DESIGNED AND NEW THAT IT WAS A BAD DESIGN. THIS SHUDDER/SLIPPING PROBLEM HAS ABOUT CAUSED AN ACCIDENT A COUPLE TIMES NOW AS IT DOESN'T ALWAYS ACT LIKE THIS. IT WILL DO GREAT FOR A LITTLE WHILE AND THEN WHEN YOU NEED TO MOVE QUICKLY IT WILL REAR ITS UGLY HEAD AGAIN. IT IS THE WORST WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO PULL INTO TRAFFIC OR TURN IAS YOU PULL OUT IT SEEMS, BUT ALWAYS FROM A STAND STILL OR CLOSE TO IT.

"STEERING ASSIST FAULT, SERVICE REQUIRED" CAME UP ON THE INFORMATION PANEL AND MADE IT VERY HARD TO STEER AS I WAS GOING DOWN THE ROAD! LUCKILY IT HAPPENED ON A 35 MPH SECTION OF THE ROAD AND THERE WAS NO TURNING INVOLVED, IT WAS LIKE THE POWER STEERING WENT COMPLETELY.
I TOOK A 3 HOUR TRIP UP TO MY MOTHER'S HOUSE THAT WEEKEND AND THEN DROVE BACK ANOTHER 3 HOURS AND PARKED IT FOR THE NIGHT. I HAD NO PROBLEMS UNTIL I STARTED MY CAR UP THE NEXT MORNING. A NOTICE CAME ON THE DASHBOARD SAYING "STEERING ASSIST FAULT SERVICE REQUIRED." THE STEERING WAS EXTREMELY STIFF AND MAY AS WELL HAVE BEEN LOCKED. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANYTHING. SO THAT WOULD MEAN THIS HAPPENED OVERNIGHT WHILE THE CAR WAS STATIONARY AND OFF. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AFTER UNSUCCESSFULLY TRYING TO FIND A BASIC FIX AND THEY SAID I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE RACK AND PINION ASSEMBLY. I FIGURE IT HAPPENING OVERNIGHT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE WHOLE SYSTEM BEING EVENLY SOAKED WITH HEAT FROM THE LONG DRIVE AND COOLING VERY SLOWLY OVERNIGHT CAUSING CRACKS IN THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. IT WAS A $3000 REPAIR JOB FOR A CAR THAT HAD LESS THAN 37,000 MILES ON IT ALBEIT A 2015 MODEL YEAR. DUE TO THE WARRANTY BEING OUT, I HAD TO PAY FOR THIS REPAIR OUT OF POCKET. OTHER PEOPLE I'VE SEEN EXPERIENCE THIS HAD IT FIXED UNDER WARRANTY SO THEY HAD NO ISSUES. UNFORTUNATELY FOR ME THIS WAS A USED CAR AND HAD NO WARRANTY LEFT ON IT.

THE CAR HAS BEEN SEEN 10 TIMES, UNDER WARRANTY, THE TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH HAS GONE OUT, FORD AND TOYOTA HAVE REFUSED TO BY BACK THE CAR. CAR HAS BEEN OUT OF SERVICE FOR 31 DAYS AS OF NOW. AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RENTAL, FORD WILL NOT OPEN THE RECALL BACK OPEN. HENDRICKS WON'T LOOK AT THE CAR THEY TELL ME TO TAKE IT BACK TO FORD. WHILE DRIVING THE CAR THE CAR WOULD NOT EXELORATE PASS 40-55 MILES PER HOUR. THE RADIO, BLUETOOTH PORTS STOPPED WORKING. THE AUTO START AND STOP STOPPED WORKING. I HAVE CONTACTED FORD COMPANY MORE THAN 10 TIMES WITH 6 CASE NUMBERS. THE LAST TIME I WAS DRIVING THE CAR I WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN I COULD SMELL A BURNING ODER, THEN THE CLUTCH PEDAL WENT OUT (STUCK IN THE FAR BACK POSITION) THEN THE CAR WHEN INTO LIMP MODE AND WOULD NOT EXCEL PAS 50 MILES PER HOUR AFTER PRESSING THE GAS THE GAS PETAL GOES OUT. THE STICK TO CHANGE GEARS WHEN OUT AND THE CAR WAS SMOKING. I THEN ROLLED OFF THE NEAREST EXIT RAMP WHERE THE CAR CAME TO A STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET
