My oil pressure pump and tensioner are the issues . I need a new engine replacement. Everything that 23s64 ford describes on there engine replacement claims is what the issue im going through now with my 1.0 ford focus 2015 . I took it to ford to get it diagnosed already and they are the ones that told me and as well got a second opinion through repairpal and they said the same. I have everything documented. Due to this issue I almost lost my life and my child's while driving my ford focus. Lost all pressure while driving with her in the car. Now she's nervous and scared when we get in any car . Due to she saw the car coming rite into her side on passenger side. No warning lights came on till after the issue had already happened . My brake pedal won't go down . Please help me this is my only form of transportation to work and to pick up my daughter. I dont have money to buy a new engine. Thank you so much for any assistance with this issue. This car has been nothing but problems. When my car was first bought from carmax it started having issues 6 months down the line. Under warranty.at the time carmax didn't want to help me and ford dealership didn't assist me with any help. Under warranty keep in mind . Then it's been issue after issue . I have receipts for everything . Thank you

When accelerating through 10-15 mph the vehicle shudders more than normal
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power. The contact was able to pull to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. The battery and low oil pressure warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the canister purge valve. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V735000 (Fuel System, Gasoline) but the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 92,000.
My vehicle stop from running on a red light and it wouldn’t go forward or backwards
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle decelerated and shuddered. The contact also stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate above 17 MPH. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutches and transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired as the clutch was not included in a warranty program. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and confirmed that the module and transmission was covered under the warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 107,000. The VIN was not available.
Stopped to get gas. Turned off engine. After filling up gas tank, car would not start, or crank/turn over. No check engine light has been on, no warning lights. Disconnected battery for about fifteen min. Car started up. Took it to shop, they changed out the evap Purge system. It failed when they tested it so they changed that out. Car did not stall when they test drove it. Car stalled two more times. Once when accelerating from a red light, and second time when just sitting in idle. Car just shuts itself off but the radio stays on. This is such a safety hazard because of the fact that not only does it stall in the middle of me driving But I’m very lucky I didn’t get rear ended or T boned because of this. So I thought this issue was fixed but obviously not. After the last time it stalled after getting it fixed, I then had it towed to a Ford dealership. I know this has been a recall on other Ford focuses. For some reason not mine which is a 2015 Focus. Last year I had to have the TCM fixed which was a recall so that was free however then they tell me that my clutch went bad at 60k miles? I shelled out almost $3k for that nonsense. Now This stalling it constantly Day after day at 75k miles? Thanks a lot FORD. Take your piece of [XXX] back and issue this a recall. Either way it’s Ford’s fault and should pay for this safety issue for free. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Studdering, won’t shift, stalls out , recall repaired still does the same thing, transmission doesn’t shift right and stalls out in traffic.
I have discovered this is a very common problem and should be recalled immediately. I bought this ford focus with 50k miles on it and the electrical power steering unit went out within 4 months. i have been driving it this way for 7 months. due to lack of grease or perhaps even lack of an engineered gasket, I believe water has gotten into my system and fried the electronics. this seems to be the most common problem with these electric power steering racks. i see several other models of this car recalled for this problem, why not mine? I'm already overpaying I shouldn't have to pay $1600 to fix this issue. I believe an immediate recall is in order based on how many thousands of people have the same problem as me and are out here driving without power steering.
Purchased this car used from a family friend about 4 years ago. The car currently has 59,000 miles on it. I recently noticed a shuddering in the transmission when I accelerate the car (mostly in the lowest starting gear). The car was taken to the Ford dealer for diagnosis. The dealer states that the issue is with the transmission clutch and the price to repair the issue is approximately $4,300. The Ford service technician described this transmission as a manual transmission automatically shifted. The prior owner confirmed he had the same issue with the car early in his ownership and had the transmission clutch replaced then. I confirmed with the dealer that the transmission clutch was replaced at 10,178 miles. This is the same exact issue again. The Ford dealership said the transmission clutch issue had caused Ford to extend the warranty to 7 years and 100,000 miles, whichever occurred first. The car is now 8 1/2 years since original purchase, but way under the warranty limit of 100,000 miles. Ford will not honor any warranty or remedy the situation. I believe a $4,300 clutch assembly replacement at least every 50,000 miles or less is horrendous.
It’s a 2015 ford focus 1.0 eco boost 6 speed manual. It studders and shakes and stalls at random while driving. It only has 78000 miles on it and I just bought this car from some punk kid. Shakes the car violently as well.
Now making a loud winding noise when I drive and turn.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving at 75 MPH with the cruise control engaged, the vehicle stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who was unable to assist. The vehicle was towed to another independent mechanic who stated that the transmission belt had caused of the failure. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.
2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds and attempting to hold speed, accelerate, the RPM's increased rapidly however, the vehicle failed to respond. The "Transmission Overheating - Please Wait 5 minutes" was displayed. Waited in the middle of the highway for that period and then pulled to shoulder of the roadway, and the vehicle returned to normal functionality, but the failure became a regular occurrence. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. Vehicle needs to be reported under Campaign Number: 18V169000 (Power Train). Manufacturer needs to be informed of the danger this imposes and recall must be imposed. This is a very terrifying scenario to be subjecting customers, to knowing how many vehicles are failing. Owner can’t afford the bill the manufacturer quoted of $7000 for Transmission. Unacceptable for a car under 100,000 miles to be in this condition when the manufacture maintenance states a higher mileage capability.
Car has a transmission stutter when pulling out into traffic or at low speeds. Apparently it is a known issue from Ford and the vehicle is outside their 7yr warranty, but only has 67k miles on it so it is not covered.
What happened? I purchased a 2015 Ford Focus from Carvana in November 2022 with about 70,000 miles on it. Since then, the vehicle has experienced numerous and severe mechanical failures. The engine mount and transmission mount have both failed and required replacement. Additionally, the rotors, Transmission Control Module (TCM), and clutch have all needed to be replaced, with the clutch failing five times throughout the car's history. Despite extensive repairs costing upwards of $7,000, the issues persist. Most Recently,The vehicle was subsequently towed to a Ford dealership after replacing the clutch for the 6th time in vehicle history. What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The components that failed include the engine mount, transmission mount, rotors, Transmission Control Module (TCM), clutch, and evap purge system. These components are available for inspection upon request. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? The frequent mechanical failures and replacements, particularly of critical components like the TCM and clutch, have compromised the reliability and safety of the vehicle, posing a significant risk during operation. The vehicle's tendency to stall while driving or idling increases the risk of accidents, potentially leading to rear-end or T-bone collisions. Yes, the problems have been confirmed and addressed by both a dealer and independent service centers. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle has been inspected by independent service centers and possibly by the dealer. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No, there were no check engine lights or warning lights prior to the failures. The issues began appearing shortly after the purchase in November 2022.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that upon entering an intersection with a green light, the contact crashed into another oncoming vehicle at approximately 30 MPH. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. No medical attention was rendered at the scene of the accident. The contact later sought medical attention from a doctor and received an MRI scan for both shoulders. The contact received cortisone shots for pain in both shoulders and sought physical therapy treatment for both shoulders. The other driver did not report any injuries. A police report was filed. The vehicle was initially towed to an independent mechanic where it was later placed in the possession of the contact's insurance company. Both the dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure; the contact was given a case number by the manufacturer. The vehicle was destroyed as a result of the accident. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

Unknown, vehicle slips out of gear leaving you stranded in the middle of the street
Ford has been fully aware of its DPS6 transmission design flaws and failures for many years. A formal recall was appropriate and they have not done so all this time; therefore, a consumer is not warned of the problem through the tried and true channels of BMV lookups during new registrations, dealer records resulting in notices sent, or other lookup tools. This causes the problem to present itself unexpectedly and progressively, and it causes quite a bad hazard by affecting the ability of the vehicle to accelerate and decelerate as expected. These transmissions slip into neutral unexpectedly as well, and it shouldn't be accepted that that is considered not a hazardous situation. Especially on the interstate, it can cause a crash. Support and responsibility by Ford is very bad. An auto transmission that isn't a flawed design may cost $2,000 to fully replace. The dual-dry clutch in Ford's PowerShift design is prone to failure. Even despite that Ford says it extended coverage for PowerShift transmissions, this can result in a $3600 repair bill, promises to cover it defaulted on, and factory warranty dishonored. I've been told by Ford it will make the defect right, but the repair estimate was $6800, twice what the car is valued for and impossible to afford to fix.
Transmission jerking and shaking
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at various speed and attempting to accelerate, the RMP would rise, but the vehicle would not move. The check engine warning light illuminated with the following messages: Transmission friction element B performance/stuck in off position - control module of transmission (TCM); Apply time range/ performance of transmission friction element B- control module of transmission (TCM); and Control module communication Buss 'A' off instrument control panel module. The contact stated, when the engine failed there was a message that stated transmission fault, service now. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and a diagnostic was performed. The dealer stated that the clutch was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 107,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving 5 MPH and attempting to make a right turn while depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond as needed. No warning light was illuminated. The dealer was contacted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the clutch assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 46,676.
My check engine light came on and I took it to oreily to read the codes. It stated O2 sensor. Had it replaced immediately. Light went off for 2 weeks. I've notice my car having a lack of power but I thought it was due to the cold negative temperatures. Last few days the light came back on and I tried driving in D gear and my car would not move. It went in reverse. Transmission fluid was LOW. Had it filled and the next day it was back low. At this point I already had an appointment to get the TCM replaced (experienced all symptoms including lack of power, no start, engine light on). since there is a warranty extension and I was finally able to get in after waiting a few months. I called when I received the letter back in September of 2023 and was told by multiple dealers that they were booked and I would get a call back after giving them my name and number. Dropped my car off today at the dealer and as I pulled in my car stopped moving and I got an emergency message stating to stop the car and that the transmission was over heating. Wait 5 minutes until it cools. Keys were given to the workers and I get a call stating that I need a new clutch and that's the code they got back from the transmission. They also stated that warranty won't cover since I'm over the mileage and date. Had I received an initial letter about the warranty I could have had this situation resolved and a vehicle to drive. Im now stuck with the cost and just found out that I can't get it covered. My family's safety was put at risk because I was not made aware of this problem since I never received a letter and I assumed my car was reacting to its environment. My car has always had a lack of power when taking off from breaking or not driving in D when I first press the gas. I've received a letter about the transmission before and it's shuddering, lack of power and other symptoms, and assumed it was just that. Nothing to do with the clutch.
The contact's father owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while his father was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shifted out of gear into neutral. The contact's father pulled over and waited before restarting the vehicle. There was an unknown warning message displayed. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle intermittently did not start as needed. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed that the PCM was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The contact stated that the vehicle failure was associated with Customer Satisfaction Program: 14M02 (Vehicle equipped with DPS6 Automatic Transmission) however, the manufacturer declined to cover the cost of the repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 51,000.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the power steering became inoperable. The contact stated that the steering wheel had seized. The contact stated that the failure occurred during freezing temperature; however, after approximately 45 minutes, the vehicle warmed up and regained power steering functionality. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000. The VIN was unavailable.
Drove home from work and stopped at Walmart on the way home. Pulled into a parking spot against a curb and when I came out to start my car and reverse out of the spot, it would not move. I got the car pushed out of the parking spot, and when driving out of the parking lot could not go past 1st gear. It has now been sitting at my apartment complex for two days. Couple years ago the transmission was replaced due to manufacturer recall. At the time, I had stopped in the middle of the road and could not go past 1st gear driving all the way home like this. I addressed the recall, and now I would like to believe the same thing is happening again. I have not gone to any mechanic or dealership yet for analysis however will attempt as soon as possible.
While sitting in my driveway my car just killed and wouldn't start again. Towed it to osseo ford and there is no compression in engine. They said the timing belt is in the oil and disintegrated and broke causing the engine to fail. I've got documentation from dealer. They have a recall on 2016.. why not 2015s? My car has 163,000 on it and its junk now because of the belt design and it being a common issue. Why does there have to be a law suit filled for ford to admit this and why only 2016 and newer.. why not all 1.0 ecoboosts with this issue. For this reason I will never buy ford again. Nor will my friends and family. Stand behind your issues ford!

The failure mileage was 24,000.
The contact’s daughter owned a 2015 Ford Focus. The contact stated while his wife was driving the vehicle 55 MPH on the highway, the vehicle lost motive power. The contact’s wife pulled off the roadway and the oil warning light illuminated. The vehicle was unable to restart and was towed to the dealer. The dealer diagnosed the vehicle and stated that the engine failed due to the failure of the internal oil pump belt. The vehicle was not repaired, and was instead traded in. The contact stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V905000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 106,000.
Transmission has been jerking and shifts hard into gears. A messaged popped up as well that the transmission was running on hot. Transmission control module was recently replaced by a ford dealership but problem still persist.
My 2015 Ford Focus was operating without issue until one day in December the engine power significantly decreased. At that time, the oil pressure light came on as well as the check engine light. I stopped driving the car immediately and had it towed to a local Ford Dealership for inspection. Upon inspection, they found metal debris in the oil suspecting internal pump belt fracture causing internal damage to the engine. They advised a new engine and turbocharger replacement of the EcoBoost engine at a cost of $7,800 +tax. After research, it appears a recall for this issue may be forthcoming and would like to report the 2015 model year as a candidate for the recall with cost of engine replacement to be covered. This car is in otherwise great shape with only 110k miles.
When I left work one evening, my 2015 Focus transmission started slipping and wouldn't stay into gear. The folks at Koons Automotive (Silver Spring, MD) indicated that this transmission is habitually problematic and has probably failed.
Stalling, jerking when stopped

1. MY car shuts off while driving and I don't understand why because my battery is new and all other components don't seem to be the issue i.e.: battery, starter, alternator. 2. My safety and the safety of my passengers were at risk because the car shuts off with no warning while driving. 3 I currently have the vehicle being inspected by my local Ford dealership but the problem has happened several times before taking the car to the dealership. 4. The problem is currently being inspected by the Ford dealership. 5. There were no warning's before the car shut off.
When the engine is hot, it stalls and stops after starting. and this happens several times a day. There was a situation when the engine stopped in the middle of the road near an elementary school, which hampered the flow of traffic. Also, when refueling, the cutoff on the filling hose is constantly activated. two faults occur regularly
Transmission failure, car seized on freeway going 75mph and almost lost control and crashed. Car is locked in park and inoperable.

My car has shuddered and stalled significantly since I purchased it brand new from Serramonte Ford on September 6, 2015. The car will lose acceleration quickly when I am on the highway and driving on hills. I have had the clutch replaced by Serramonte Ford three times over the last 7 years and I have been informed that it needs to be replaced again. I have only once, on 10/27/2023 had a warning displayed on my dashboard immediately after a shuttering and stalling incident. I was driving up a hill when the car began jerking and shuttering. I pulled the vehicle perpendicular to the hillside and received the message, "transmission fault, service now". The car would not go into reverse to allow me to back up and safely park the vehicle. I immediately had the car towed to Serramonte Ford, per the service waring, and have been told that the clutch needs to be repaired again. This car is a ticking time bomb, I have been fortunate not to have had this stalling and shuttering cause a serious accident where myself or others could be seriously or fatally harmed.

The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 68,362.
Car shudders while driving and now will not go into reverse. I have under 50,000 miles on the car. I have not had this seen by a mechanic yet.
