There is a recall with Ford of 2018 Ford Focus Recall Item Affected: FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINEDate Announced: 10/22/2018 The description of this recall is what is happening to my car, but because my vin doesn't show up they won't look at it. There are no codes, but as I turn on the car and go to drive within 45 seconds it's stalls, in traffic or wherever. I need help.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle started bouncing. Additionally, the vehicle was making abnormal grinding sounds. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was previously repaired in 2018-2019 for the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the clutch and PCM needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
I am having issue out of my engine harness I have shorts all in my harness and am only at 100k miles.
7 year old car requires full engine replacement due to lost compression. For the 2 1/2 years I've owned it 1 entire year has been spent either stranded on the insterstate or at the dealership service repair. Fuel gauge does not monitor or distrubute correct fuel available. I have spent $600 in tows to the dealership . Multiple reports/complaints have been filed against this model & year includeing with NHTSA. "Common problems found on the 2016 Ford Focus include the transmission shuddering, engine failures, as well as issues with the power steering system. Overall, these problems are more severe than in other compact cars, leading to expensive repair bills when parts fail" Please investigate quickly as this is safety related as well as consumer gouging
The Body Control Module controlling the lights, hatch, and door lock/unlock malfunctioned. Its a serious safety issue when the lights go out unexpectedly while driving.
TCM failed. Repair under recall warranty. Part indefinitely on backorder.
The transmission started failing in 2020 and part of it was repaired on a recall and part we had to pay out of pocket. The entire steering rack failed in July of 2022 requiring replacement. Reports suggest this is a known issue yet Ford offered nothing. Now the transmission is slipping and failing again less than two years since being repaired by Ford. This is a critical safety issue and they can't diagnose the car for 4-6 weeks and are offering no rental assistance for a known factory defect. These cars are dangerous and the fact that Ford won't do anything to jump on the problem when it happens means more liability for the drivers of these vehicles.

There are roughly 55k miles on this vehicle and the engine is revving really high but the car is having issues accelerating from a stop and in traffic. It's almost as if the transmission is already going out. The car sputters. It's scary because when I need the accelerate the car hesitates.
Vehicle shudders or jerks when accelerating from a stopped position. Issue seems to be gradually getting worse over the past year or so. Car had well under 50,000 miles when issue commenced and is well maintained and responsibly driven. Ford dealer advises that clutch assembly is likely failing but represents that issue is not under warranty, recall or safety advisory, or customer satisfaction program. I am concerned that the clutch will fail when accelerating from a stopped position in traffic or while shifting at a high speed and cause an accident. There are no warning or other message lights. Thank you.

The failure mileage was approximately 51,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Transmission slipped occasionally before the TCM finally failed. Unable to repair due to part not being unavailable.
The radio makes sudden extremely loud popping sounds out of nowhere that are startling, this can happen when the radio is off. Makes me jump and that’s unsafe during operating the vehicle. This should be a safety recall!
Both servos on the dps6 dual clutch transmission have failed at 2 different times causing the transmission to give an in dash transmission overheating message and stopped the vehicle in the middle of the road. This happened the 6 year mark and 7 year mark after the standard 5 year warranty. The vehicle has 26k miles and is not used stressfully. This issue occurred on January 24 2021 and Dec 22 2022. Different servo affected each time. Cost for consumer repair $600 each. Same issue was found in same year model focus vehicles but my VIN was apparently not included.

My Ford focus will stall, there is fuel in the tank and the rpms drop and the vehicle starts to shake.
Engine light came on I scanned my car code p1450 unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuume. Same issue I had with another vehicle of this type
I believe the power train and some component with the fuel system. Yes it is available for inspection. The car shut off in the middle of traffic. This has happened multiple times. It has not been confirmed by a dealership or service center. The vehicle has been inspected. No warning lamps or messages.
The oil pump failed while driving causing the engine to seize up. This occurred moments after the oil light came on giving the driver little time to react. The only lights indicated on the dash panel were the oil pressure and check engine lights. The engine seized and the car died while driving through a busy metropolitan area. The vehicle had to be physically pushed out of a busy intersection to get it out of the way of traffic. The vehicle was taken to the dealership where they found no oil in the filter, but plenty of oil in the pan. There were remnants of metal and belt material in the pan as well.
Vehicle shudders and shakes due to transmission slipping at many speeds. Slow is the worst and even at a speed of 70 MPH the vehicle will shake and shudder from transmission.

I purchased a 2016 Ford Focus in September of this year from a used car dealer. I drove the car back and forth to work approximately 10 miles each way, per day. I took a day off before Thanksgiving and drove my vehicle longer than usual. Holiday traffic was bad and there was a lot of stop and go traffic, my car sputtered and shook and stalled on a busy street. Luckily, I was close to my house and was able to pull over. Again, a few days ago I drove for about an hour and the car again sputtered when moving from a complete stop. I went online and googled "Ford Focus transmission issues" and saw that there has been a lawsuit and settlement. I called Ford and was told that it was not under recall and that I would have to take the car I just purchased, to be fixed and I would have to pay for it. Please recall these transmissions before someone gets killed.
Driving on the highway the engine stopped with no indications of an issue from the control panel warnings. The car would not restart, even after cooling down. The car was looked at by multiple mechanics before towing to a Ford dealership. Their diagnostics indicated that the cylinder block assembly and the starter motor would need to be replaced. There was no mention of what the cause was. The oil had been replaced a month prior.

I feel vibrations when I accelerate. Very severe when the car is warm. I feel unsafe if I drive it (not accelerating correctly). I brought the car to a repair shop. They told me that this problem is well known by Ford for my car. Ford did receive several claims and lawsuits regarding this issue. The repair shop told me the cluck could cause a fire too. Another repair shop asked me $2,623.78 to repair the car on 11/11/2022.
car keeps stalling plus having fuel pump problems. Car shuts off and has trouble starting.
Transmission slipping and shuttering pulling into traffic and car seems to lose power between shifts, problem is worse when the car warms up and really bad in stop and go traffic. Car only has 30k miles and dealer said out of warranty but not old enough for the extended warranty for this known problem
Transmission slipping

Out of no where my car has a transmission issue. I got my car last year and there were no problems. I’ve been told my car doesn’t go into the recall because it was 2 months made after the recall date was made which is not fair. Several people have told me these type of cars are known to have horrible transmissions. I can’t afford a $3,000 + repair on this when the mileage isn’t even bad enough to have a transmission issue. This is my significant others only way to make income. It is not safe to drive the car in this condition.

So I have this Ford Focus that my son drives. Check engine light came on with the code of P1450. It is part of the NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V735000. Took it to the dealer and they told me that my vin # [XXX] is not part of the campaign/recall and will have to pay to have it fixed. Don't know why the dealer could get this resolved. Ford's recall number is:18S32. Car has all the symptoms of the recall/campaign. Don't know why Ford will not fix it for me? I would like my car to be added to this campaign/recall. The Transmission was another big issue, but I am thinking it is fixed after 5 tries. Thank you for you help. [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
I was exiting Parking lot into busy intersection when vehicle suddenly hesitated and stalled completely. Was hard to restart and kept stalling after that. Very dangerous when traveling on busy streets when it stalls and steering wheel locks up. As I accelerate the car violently jerks and has hard time shifting and getting up to speed maybe a “slipping” feeling and engine is constantly misfiring and stalling. Idles very rough when stopped RPM jumps all over the place. No warning lights on dash whatsoever. Had this problem and took to ford about 2 years ago they said they fixed it but the problem still persists. I can see there are various recalls for this vehicle for the exact things that are happening to me. Huge safety concern. Seems to me it’s something to do with fuel tank and transmission.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the fuel tank was deformed due to a stuck canister purge valve. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V735000 (Fuel System, Gasoline); the VIN was included, and the repair was already completed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 113,000.
I am getting a check engine light. P01450 which is the Stuck canister purge valve issue. NHTSA Campaign number 18V735000. Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2012-2018 Ford Focus vehicles with a 2.0L GDI or 2.0L GTDI engine. The Canister Purge Valve (CPV) may malfunction, possibly causing excessive vacuum in fuel vapor management system. Dealer said my Ford was not part of recall. Ford Recall number is 18S32. Can you assist with this? It's my son's car and needs it for college. Want to make sure it is safe. Thank you.
Shortly after fueling my car, it will start to act like it’s going to stall. Sometimes it stalls completely, other times I am able to accelerate the problem away. My car runs very loud, shaky, and rough. A few days ago, it stalled without any notice, and i wasn’t able to restart it. I had to have it towed to the mechanic. They are saying it could need a new fuel pump, but with the low mileage on my car no one can understand why that component of my car would be failing already.

I recently became the owner of this car as my dad had it for the past 5 years. My dad previously inquired about the car shuddering/vibrating when accelerating at times (in 2021) and the dealership was either unaware or dishonest in replying that it just had to do with way the plastic protecting the bottom of the car rattles. We did not know about the Ford nationwide settlement for 2012-2016 Ford Focuses at the time or that others were having similar preliminary issues with the transmission/clutch so we continued to use the car thinking it was just a normal issue with no safety problems. I went for my regularly scheduled oil & filter change at the Koons Silver Spring Ford dealership (Maryland) on Tuesday 10/11. They also completed a complimentary 27 point inspection and told me my car was fine except for a small coolant leak I should get fixed within the year. The next day, my car struggled to accelerate after stopping at a red light. This was an intersection where the speed limit was 35 mph and the most I could go was 15 mph with a lot of effort from my car. My rpm meter kept fluctuating from 1 to 4 even if I wasn't stepping on the accelerator. I turned on my safety blinkers to inform other cars that I was having issues and my car eventually came to a complete stop. I had to call for help and put the car in neutral in order to get it to my parking garage. This could have been a very dangerous situation if I was on the highway. The dealership is about 20 minutes from my place so the next morning I went to local mechanics that helped me to read the CEL codes. I have provided a picture of the codes. They are all TCM-clutch related errors. My car very unexpectedly stopped functioning and the dealership/corporate says I'm not covered by the Ford customer satisfaction action that was supposed to fix the TCM issues for free. Please help me as I cannot afford to fix my car at this time with such an unexpected issue at only 38,000 miles.
The contact owns a 2016 Ford Focus. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the check engine warning light remained illuminated, and the vehicle experienced occasional hesitation while driving. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel tank was deformed causing a failure in the fuel delivery pressure. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 76,000.
When I start to go it lags, doesn't want to go like it gets stuck in gear. No it has not been seen by dealer but other cars the same as mine has had recalls due to the same issue. No warning lights or signal lights come on.
