TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SAFETY BELT LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BACK SEAT WAS WRAPPED AROUND THE PASSENGERS DIAPHRAGM AND SHE WAS UNABLE TO UNLOCK IT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN SHE TRIED TO GET THE SEAT BELT OFF IT CONTINUED TO GET TIGHTER AND IN ORDER TO GET THE PASSENGER OUT THEY HAD TO CUT THE SEAT BELT OFF. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CONTACTED AND THE PASSENGER DID NOT SUFFERED ANY INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 47,853.
ON JUNE 17, 2011 MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND I WAS THE PASSENGER, WE HAD STOPPED AT A FOUR WAY STOP. WHEN WE HAD THE RIGHT AWAY WE PROCEEDED ACROSS THE INTERSECTION. WE WERE STRUCK IN THE INTERSECTION BY A DRIVER WHO RAN THE STOP SIGN. SHE WAS TRAVELING AROUND 30 TO 35MPH AND STRUCK THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR, SMASHING IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE DOOR, ALSO THE FRONT SUPPORT WHERE THE WINDOW SHIELD IS ATTACHED. ALSO THE MIDDLE SUPPORT WHERE THE FRONT AND BACK DOORS ATTACHED, ALONG WITH THE TOP AND BOTTOM SUPPORTS OF THE VEHICLE. THE DOOR HAD TO BE CUT OFF THE VEHICLE TO REMOVE ME OUT OF IT. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. MY CONCERN IS THAT THE SIDE CURTAIN AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY IN A CRASH OF THIS NATURE. WHY EVEN HAVE THEM IF THEY DO NOT WORK.
USED VEHICLE PURCHASE 2 DAYS AGO, MY HUSBAND AND I DROVE THE CAR ON A TEST DRIVE AND IT WENT WELL, AFTER ALL THE PAPERS WERE DONE WE GOT IN THE CAR AND WENT TO GO EAT AND WHEN WE CAME OUT TO LEAVE AND I TRIED TO PULL THE INTO R AND IT WOULD NOT BUDGE SO MY HUSBAND TRIED TO DRIVE INSTEAD AND HE COULDN'T PULL IT IN TO R AND THIS HAPPENED WE IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY SAID COME BACK AND THEY TRIED FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND ASKED WE BRING IT BACK TOMORROW, SO WE DID AND THEY SAID OH WE ADJUSTED THE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE LINKAGE IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN AND HERE AGAIN I WENT TO THE PHARMACY TODAY AND TRIED FOR 32 MINUTES TO PUT THE CAR IN GEAR. IN ANY GEAR AND I COULDN'T I GOT SO UPSET I CALLED MY HUSBAND AND ASKED HIM WHAT TO DO IF I COULDN'T GET IT IN GEAR AND HE TOLD ME TRY AGAIN FOR A BIT AND IF I STILL COULDN'T DO IT, CALL A WRECKER TO PICK IT UP. I HAVE SPOKEN TO NUMEROUS OWNERS IN THE LAST FEW DAYS ON THE FORD OWNERS FORUMS AND IT IS ATROCIOUS JUST HOW MANY TIMES I HAVE BEEN TOLD THEY HAVE HAD ISSUES LIKE THIS TOO. COME ON I HAVE TROUBLE PAYING FOR A CAR I MAY OR MAY NOT BE ABLE TO DRIVE! *TR
USED INTERIOR HANDLE ON A FORD FUSION 2008 IN A NORMAL MANNER, AND IT SNAPPED OFF. THE CAR CAN NO LONGER BE OPENED FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE. AFTER A SEARCH ONLINE, IT APPEARS THIS HAS HAPPENED TO NUMEROUS PEOPLE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VINYL ON THE DASHBOARD WHERE THE AIR BAG WAS LOCATED HAD BEEN FRACTURED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO ADVISED HER THAT IT WAS A FACTORY DEFECT AND THAT SHE NEEDED TO HAVE THE ENTIRE DASH REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,000. UPDATED 09/15/11 *BF UPDATED 12/19/11
AFTER MY CAR WAS RUNNING FOR ABOUT TEN MINUTES ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CAME ON AND STAYED ON. THIS WAS JUST THE BEGINNING, AFTER SHUTTING THE CAR OFF AND STARTING IT BACK UP IT BEGAN TO DO THE SAME THING SO WE TOOK IT UP TO A MECHANIC TO RUN A COMPUTER ON IT AND IT DID COME UP FOR THE CLUSTER. THEN WHEN WE WERE GOING TO UNLOAD IT OFF THE TRAILER MY CAR WOULD COMPLETELY NOT CRANK UP BECAUSE OF THE CLUSTER. THEN ONCE AGAIN AFTER BEING REPLACED ONLY SEVEN MONTHS AGO IT HAS STARTED MESSING UP AGAIN!! THIS CAR HAS BEEN A COMPLETE DISAPPOINTMENT SO I BEGAN TO CALL AROUND AND FOUND OUT THERE HAS BEEN MANY OTHER PROBLEMS SIMILAR TO MINE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED BUT STILL THERE HAVE BEEN ABSOLUTELY NO RECALLS FOR ANY OF THE PROBLEMS OCCURRING ON THESE CARS!!! *KB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD HAD A BUBBLE EFFECT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT THE AIR BAG COULD DEPLOY. IN ADDITION, THE BRAKE PEDAL REMAINED PRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE ISSUE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.
ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE DASHBOARD WHERE THE PASSENGER AIRBAG, AND THE DASHBOARD MEET, THE DASHBOARD HAS SEPARATED FROM THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT RESULTING IN A BELL SHAPED CURVE RISING APPROXIMATELY 1 1/2 INCHES ABOVE THE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT COMPARTMENT. IF THE AIRBAG WERE TO DEPLOY, IT COULD BE AFFECTED BY THIS AMOUNT OF RISEN DASHBOARD. I'VE ALSO SEEN THIS IN OTHER 2008 FORD FUSIONS. SENT LETTERS TO FORD, AND THEY REFUSE TO HELP OUT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FUSION. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR, THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE DETACHED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT THE DOOR HANDLE WAS MADE OF PLASTIC AND HAD DETACHED ON TWO PREVIOUS OCCASIONS, WHICH REQUIRED THAT THE HANDLE BE REPLACED. THE FAILURE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE DOOR HANDLES FAILED. TWO YEARS LATER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FAILURE PREVENTED THE CONTACT FROM EXITING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD TO OPEN THE WINDOW TO CLIMB OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 134,000. *TR

TAKATA RECALL THE DASH WHERE MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS, IS STARTING TO COME APART. I HAVE NOT HEARD FROM FORD IN OVER A YEAR ABOUT THIS RECALL. I AM NOT SURE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN OF SOMEONE PUSHED HARD IN THAT SPOT OF MY DASH. TO ME IT IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE AND SHOULD HAVE ALREADY BEEN FIXED. OR THEY SHOULD AT LEAST STAY IN CONTACT WITH PEOPLE ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. I AM VERY DISSATISFIED WITH FORD ON THIS RECALL.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (BIG VALLEY FORD LINCOLN LOCATED AT 3282 AUTO CENTER CIR, STOCKTON, CA 95212) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) HOWEVER, THE PART FOR THE RECALL REPAIR WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THE MANUFACTURER HAD EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
WE OWN A 2008 FORD FUSION 6 CYL. AWD. SHORTLY AFTER WE BOUGHT IT WE STARTED HAVING TROUBLE WITH THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR. THE DOOR HANDLE ON THE OUTSIDE WILL NOT GO BACK INTO PLACE AND THE DOOR WILL NOT SHUT. THE DRIVERS DOOR HANDLE ON THE INSIDE BROKE AND CRACKED AND DOOR WILL NOT LOCK. HERE LATELY WHEN WE ARE DRIVING ALL OF A SUDDEN THE CAR WILL SOUND LIKE A SLEDGE HAMMER IS BEING BANGED UNDERNEATH THE CAR MAKING THE CAR SHAKE. WE WERE TOLD THAT IT IS EITHER THE TRANSFERRING CASE OR SOME OTHER CAR. IT WILL COST $950 OR $1500 FOR THE PART NOT COUNTING LABOR FEES. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT GIVE US THE WARRANTY THAT THEY SAID IT CAME WITH. WE WERE TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT THIS PROBLEM IS COMMON WITH THE FORD FUSION AND THE FORD ESCAPE. FOR SOME REASON THE AWD WANTS TO KICK IN WHEN YOU REACH 25 MPH. IF THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THEN THESE VEHICLES NEED TO BE RECALLED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT. EVERYONE THAT RIDES IN OUR CAR AND IT STARTS ACTING UP, WANTS TO JUMP OUT OF THE CAR. *TR
DRIVERS INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE BROKE. THERE WASNT ANY WARNING, IT JUST NO LONGER WORKED. IN ORDER TO OPEN THE DOOR, THE "LOCK" RELEASE HAS TO BE PULLED. WHEN RESEARCHING THE REPAIR, I FOUND MUTIPLE LINKS REGARDING THE REPAIR WITH NUMEROUS MOMENTS OF DEFECT. ANYWHERE FROM 10,000 TO 80,000 MILES FOR POINTS OF FAILURE. ONE PERSON EVEN EXPLAINED THAT NOW HE CAN REPLACE HIS DOOR HANDLE IN LESS THAN 30...SINCE HE HAS DONE IT SO MANY TIMES. MOST RECENTLY THE FORD F 150 HAD A RECALL...FOR BROKEN INTERIO605-R HANDLES.
ILLEGAL, UNETHICAL, IMMORAL DECISIONS MADE BY FORD IN WAITING EIGHT YEARS TO NOTIFY ME ABOUT DRIVING A DANGEROUS UNSAFE CAR FOR MANY YEARS. IF THERE ARE LAWS TO FOLLOW IN NOTIFYING YOU OR THE CONSUMER WHEN A MANUFACTURER DISCOVERS A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS DEFECT IN A PRODUCT THEY OFFER, THEN THEY MOST HAVE BEEN VIOLATED IN MY CASE AND HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF CONSUMERS CASES. FOR EIGHT OR NINE YEARS I HAVE OWNED AND MY WIFE HAS DRIVEN THE VEHICLE LISTED. I WOULD LIKE YOU TO DETERMINE WHEN DID FORD KNOW ABOUT THEIR CARS HAVING DANGEROUS AIR BAGS.TAKATA HAS BEEN IN THE NEWS FOR YEARS. WHICH PEOPLE KNEW. I RECEIVED SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 16S26/NHTSA RECALL 16V-384 IN JULY OF 2016 AFTER DRIVING THIS CAR FOR EIGHT OR NINE YEARS. IF YOU FIND THE TRUE ANSWERS TO MY QUESTIONS THEN IT IS DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THAT NO VIOLATIONS OCCURRED. THE ACTIONS TAKEN BY FORD OVER THE PAST EIGHT YEARS MUST VIOLATE NHTSA CODES, CONSUMER RIGHTS, PRODUCT SAFETY CODES AND MANY OTHER CODES. WHEN NATIONAL FORD EMPLOYEES CAN NOT GIVE APPROXIMATE DATE TO GET UNSAFE CAR REPAIRED TO THE NEAREST MONTH AND THEY DO NOT RETURN CALL AS PROMISED, THEN IF NO CODES ARE VIOLATED THEN SURELY THAT IS AN EXAMPLE OF UNETHICAL OR IMMORAL DECISIONS MADE OVER THE PAST NINE YEARS. IN 2008, ON MY 2008 FORD FUSION SE 4 CYLINDER, THE DEALER I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE FROM REPLACED THE TWO REAR CALIPER CLIPS DUE TO A LOUD CLICKING NOISE. I VISITED THE SAME DEALER I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE FROM ON SEVERAL VISITS SINCE 2008, FOR THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE FRONT CALIPER CLIPS, WHICH HAVE BEEN MAKING A LOUD CLICKING NOISE WHEN GOING IN REVERSE OR IN DRIVE FOR TWO YEARS NOW! I WAS TOLD THE MECHANIC DIDN'T EXPERIENCE ANY PROBLEMS DURING HIS TEST DRIVE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TWO OTHER FORD DEALERS, THEY TOLD ME THE MECHANIC'S COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I WAS TOLD BY THE LAST DEALER, THE BREAKS WILL MAKE A CLICKING NOISE WHEN BACKING UP. I MADE ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WITH THE PURCHASING DEALER, AND ASKED THEM WHY MY 2006 FORD FUSION DIDN'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM? THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN DIDN'T HAVE AN ANSWER. I'M GOING TO INFORM THEM THEY HAVE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE FORWARDS AND BACKWARDS SEVERAL TIMES TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. I'M ALSO GOING TO CONTACT FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE IN MICHIGAN TO SEE WHAT THEY CAN DO. IF NEEDED, I WILL START CONTACTING EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT, LIKE I HAD TO DO ON MY LEMON MAZDA 626 YEARS AGO. THE CONTACT ALSO EXPERIENCED THE DOOR HANDLE FAILURE WITH HER 2007 FORD FUSION. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY; THEREFORE, THEY WOULD NOT ASSIST WITH THE REPAIR. MANY TIMES AFTER THIS INITIAL INCIDENT, MY 2008 FORD FUSION WOULD AGAIN NOT START UPON FIRST FULL TURNING OF IGNITION KEY. THEN UPON SECOND ATTEMPT IT STARTS. THE FIRST KEY TURNING RESULTS IN CRANK BUT NO TURNOVER OF ENGINE, LONG CRANK. THIS HAPPENS AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH, SOMETIMES 2-3 TIMES A MONTH. INVOICE [XXX], DATED 3/1/2011 AND ODOMETER READING 53088, FROM FLUORESCENT GARAGE & RADIATOR; 549 ST. FERDINAND; FLUORESCENT, MO, DESCRIBES MY ATTEMPT TO SOLVE PUZZLING LONG CRANK. THEIR INVOICE DESCRIPTION OF WORK, RELATED TO THE PROBLEM: "HARD TO START SOME TIMES LONG CRANK, NO CODES STORED, SCAN DATA NORMAL. CLEANED ELECTRIC THROTTLE PLATE. FUEL PUMP MARGINAL ON SCOPE. POSSIBLE ECM UPDATE/ FLASH PER/ IDENTIFIX.". THIS DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. SO FEW DAYS LATER, HAD MY 2008 FORD FUSION CHECKED OUT FOR PROBLEM AT DAVE SINCLAIR AUTO, FORD DEALER IN ST. PETERS, MISSOURI, SINCE CAR WAS WITHIN 100,000 MILES WARRANTY, INVOICE [XXX], ODOMETER READING 53195, DATED 3/4/2011. INVOICE DESCRIPTION: "A CRANKS. WONT START. SUSPECTS FUEL PUMP. CAUSE: 06 EEC TEST FOUND PATS CODES, NONE RELATED TO FUEL PUMP. REPROGRAMMED PCM. ALL TESTS PASS. 97233 CP 95.00 PARTS: 0.00 LABOR: 95.00 5.70 ENVIRONMENTAL FEE. TOTAL CHG 101.13 W SALES TAX. TECHNICIAN SAID THEY REPLACED FUEL PUMP AND I HAD TO SIGN STATEMENT THAT THEY WERE NOT LIABLE FOR FURTHER WORK IF FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED. THIS ANNOYED ME. MY DAD, [XXX] , WORKED AT THE HAZELWOOD, MISSOURI LINCOLN-MERCURY-FORD PLANT FOR MANY YEARS. IT WAS DIFFICULT TO MAKE THE PROBLEM EVIDENT AS IT OCCURRED RANDOMLY. THIS DID NOT SOLVE PROBLEM EITHER. PROBLEM CONTINUES TODAY, ALL ELSE OK ON CAR. I AM WONDERING IF ORIGINAL KEY BOBS SOMETIMES DON'T ALLOW THE START, JUST AS SOMETIMES THEY DON'T OPEN THE DOORS. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY BEING DIAGNOSED REGARDING THE FAILURE. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 116000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE FAILED AND FRACTURED SEVERAL TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE DRIVER'S SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE HIMSELF. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR CABLE AND ACTUATOR WERE NOT RELEASING THE LATCH; THEREFORE, IT CAUSED THE HANDLE TO FRACTURE. I RECENTLY DROVE MY 90 YEAR OLD MOTHER IN LAW'S 2008 FORD FUSION. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 20,000 MILES. THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS WAY TOO MUCH TRAVEL - WHEN APPLYING FULL BRAKING FORCE THE PEDAL NEVER RETURNS A HARD END STOP FEEL AND PEDAL TRAVEL STOPS ONLY AN INCH OR SO FROM THE FIREWALL. ONCE ENGAGED THE ANTI-LOCK SYSTEM IS NOT BALANCED RESULTING IN SOME OF THE WHEELS TO LOCK - AND NOT THE SAME WHEELS WITH EACH TEST. SHE INDICATED THAT THIS HAD BEEN THIS WAY SINCE SHE BOUGHT THE CAR. I HAD THE BRAKE FLUID COMPLETELY REPLACED BY FORD WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. THE DEALERSHIP IS NOT SURE WHAT THE ISSUE IS AND RECOMMENDS REPLACING PARTS ON BY ONE UNTIL IT IS FIXED - STARTING WITH THE MASTER CYLINDER AND THEN THE BRAKE CONTROL MODULE. HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THIS APPROACH I SEARCHED ON-LINE AND DETERMINED THAT THERE HAVE BEEN HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE FUSION FOR THIS ISSUE AND THAT THE NHTSA HAS OPENED A FORMAL INVESTIGATION. THE PURPOSE OF THIS COMPLAINT IS TO BE INCLUDED IN WHATEVER RECTIFICATIONS MAY RESULT FROM THAT INVESTIGATION.
