THE CONTACT CALLED TWO LOCAL DEALERS: PREMIER FORD LINCOLN (5001 GLENWOOD RD, BROOKLYN, NY 11234, 888-381-4515) AND PREMIER FORD OF BAY RIDGE (612 86TH ST, BROOKLYN, NY 11228, (347) 578-7900). PREMIER FORD LINCOLN STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE ON BACKORDER. PREMIER FORD OF BAY RIDGE STATED THAT A SERVICE APPOINTMENT MAY BE SCHEDULED FOR JANUARY OF 2019. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE DEDICATED LINE FOR TAKATA RECALLS AT 866-436-7332; HOWEVER, THEY FAILED TO RESPOND. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.

THE DASHBOARD IN MY VEHICLE IS DEFECTIVE AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT IS WARPED AND IMPACTS THE FUNCTION OF THE AIRBAG. THE WARPED DASHBOARD BULGES IN FRONT OF THE AIRBAG COMPARTMENT AND PREVENTS THE AIRBAG FROM SITTING FLUSH IN THE COMPARTMENT. IT IS OBVIOUS THAT IF THE AIRBAG DEPLOYS, IT WILL NOT DEPLOY PROPERLY. WE HAVE DISCUSSED THIS WITH THE FORD DEALER AND HAVE BEEN TOLD IT IS NOT FORDS RESPONSIBILITY TO REPLACE THE DASH. WE RECENTLY HAD THE AIRBAG REPLACED DUE TO A RECALL AND THE PROBLEM WORSENED BUT THE FORD DEALER AGAIN REFUSED TO REPLACE THE DASHBOARD. WE'VE INCLUDED THREE PICTURES TO DEMONSTRATE THE EXTENT OF THE PROBLEM. SINCE THE DASHBOARD IS DEFECT AND AFFECTS THAT SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE, THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD REPLACE THE DASHBOARD AT NO COST TO US.
ON OR ABOUT WEDNESDAY, MAY 30, 2018 ON THE COMMUTE HOME FROM WORK I PUSHED ON THE BRAKES AS I CAME TO A STOP LIGHT. THE BRAKES WEREN'T THERE AND THE BRAKE PEDAL CONTINUED TO THE FLOOR BOARD, I BEGAN PUMPING THE BRAKES TO STOP AND WAS ABLE TO STOP. I TOOK BACK ROADS TO GET OFF THE MAIN HIGHWAY AND EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEM AT EACH STOP SIGN. AT A 4 WAY STOP SIGN I COASTED FROM ABOUT TWO BLOCKS TO A BARE CRAWL ANTICIPATING THAT WOULD HELP ME ACTUALLY STOP - IT DIDN'T - MY VEHICLE CONTINUED SLOWLY PAST THE 4 WAY INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AND A VEHICLE THAT HAD THE RIGHT OF WAY ON THE RIGHT STOPPED TO LET ME CONTINUE AS I WAVED AND EXPRESSED I WAS SORRY THE BEST WAY I COULD. I MADE IT HOME AND CALLED THE TIRE/BRAKE SHOP AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAPPENED. I THEN DROVE THE SAME ROUTE TO THE TIRE/BRAKE SHOP AND THE BRAKE LINES WERE BLED, NEW CALIPERS, ETC. THE AUTO REPAIRMEN STATED THE MASTER CYLINDER VALVE WAS COMPROMISED AND TO WATCH FOR THE SAME PROBLEM BECAUSE SOMETHING WAS WRONG AND THE NEXT TIME WOULD REQUIRE EXTENSIVE AND COSTLY REPLACEMENT. THIS WAS MY ONLY VEHICLE I HAD ACCESS TO COMMUTE TO AND FROM WORK EACH DAY.

VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
TAKATA RECALL. I WOULD LIKE THE AIRBAG THAT'S SUPPOSE TO SAVE A LIFE AND THAT'S BEEN RECALLED TO BE REPLACED SO IT'S SAFE AND WON'T POSSIBLY KILL ANYBODY. NO PROBLEMS AS OF YET. PLEASE ADVISE. AIRBAG HAS BEEN RECALLED FOR TWO YEARS. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE.

THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE AND SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL, BUT THE VEHICLE STILL FAILED TO STOP UNTIL IT CRASHED INTO A STREET SIGN. THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SALVAGE YARD. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 121,000.

MY BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED IN JUNE 2017. JUST HAD THE POWER BOOSTER REPLACED ON MAY 4, 2018. IT IS NOW HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS ON MAY 4TH - BRAKES GOING ALL THE WAY DOWN, HAVE TO PUMP BRAKES IN ORDER TO STOP. I WAS TRAVELING FROM OCEANSIDE CA TO SCOTTSDALE AZ ON MAY 4TH AND JUST AROUND TOWN TODAY, MAY 22 HERE IN OCEANSIDE.

AS TOLD TO FORD MOTOR COMPANY MY DASH IS MESSED UP FROM THE AIRBAG STARTING TO DEPLOY DURING THE RECALL. THEY GAVE ME A RENTAL AND I DROVE THAT BUT NOW THAT THE INFLATOR HAS BEEN REPAIRED THEY ARE REFUSING TO FIX MY DASH.

FIRST INCIDENT, I WAS TURNING A CORNER, HIT ROUGH PAVEMENT AND THE ABS ENGAGED. THE BRAKES WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE PEDAL WAS SOFT AFTERWARDS. THE SECOND INCIDENT, WHILE SLOWING AND HITTING A ROUGH PATCH ON THE ROAD, THE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGED. WHEN I BRAKED FOR THE INTERSECTION, THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. I HAD TO PUMP THE BRAKES TO MAKE THE VEHICLE COME TO A STOP.
I HAVE A 2008 FORD FUSION AND THE PLATE ON THE DASH WHERE THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IS LIFTING AND YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE WHERE MY AIRBAG IS ABOUT TO DEPLOY. IT HAS AS WELL MESSED MY DASH UP THERE IS SUCH A GAP. I HAVE CALLED FORD MOTOR COMPANY AND ALL THEY TELL ME IS THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PART AND DO NOT KNOW WHEN THEY WILL GET IT AS WELL TELLING ME NOT TO DRIVE MY CAR. WELL I HAVE TO HAVE TRANSPORTATION SO WHAT DO THEY EXPECT ME TO DRIVE????? WHEN OPERATING MY 2008 FORD FUSION AND PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL TO SLOW AND STOP THE VEHICLE; THE BRAKE PEDAL HAS A VERY SOFT SPONGY FEEL. THE TRAVEL OF THE BRAKE PEDAL TAKES THE PEDAL NEARLY TO THE FLOOR. VEHICLE SEEMS TO TAKE A LONGER TIME TO STOP. THIS BRAKING SITUATION OCCURS IN NEIGHBORHOOD TRAFFIC AT 25MPH, CITY TRAFFIC AT 30 TO 40 MPH AND ON THE HIGHWAY AT MULTIPLE SPEEDS 50 MPH PLUS...
INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ARE VERY WEAK AND BROKE. DOOR BECAME INOPERABLE FROM THE INSIDE. THE ONLY WAY TO OPEN THE DOOR WAS TO TURN THE IGNITION ON, ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW, AND THEN RELEASE THE EXTERIOR HANDLE. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN FATAL IF AN EMERGENCY EXIT WAS NEEDED.
FORD FUSION ABS BRAKE FAILURE DURING BRAKING. MY ABS SYSTEM HAS COMPLETELY FAILED, AND I FINALLY FEEL SAFE. I THOUGHT THE CAR WAS TRYING TO KILL ME. BEFORE THE ABS SYSTEM FINALLY FULLY FAILED,( THE ORANGE DASH LIGHT IS NOW ON, AND THE ABS SYSTEM IS OFF.)THE ABS SYSTEM WOULD PICK THE WORST TIME TO FAIL , DURING BASIC BRAKING, EMERGENCY STOP BRAKING, WET BRAKING OR IN SAND. IT SEEMED THAT ANY TIME THE TIRES HAD LESS THAN PERFECT TRACTION, THE ABS COULD RANDOMLY FAIL WITHOUT WARNING. THE BRAKE PEDAL IN AN EMERGENCY STOP SITUATION, OR BASIC BRAKING, WOULD GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, EMITTING A LOUD RATCHETING SOUND AS THE PEDAL BECAME INEFFECTIVE AND SOFT, NOT STOPPING THE VEHICLE. THIS WOULD HAPPEN WHEN WHEEL SPEEDS WERE BELOW 30 MPH, AND THE CARS SENSORS THOUGHT THE TIRES HAD LOST TRACTION, WHEN THEY REALLY HAD NOT, I WAS ON I-4 DURING THE LAST HURRICANE AND HAD TO PARK THE CAR DUE TO ALL THE TRAFFIC STARTING AND STOPPING. THE BRAKE PEDAL DOING ITS RANDOM WORKING AND NOT WORKING, I ALMOST GOT INTO 4 DIFFERENT ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILING, NEVER BEFORE HAVE I HAD A CAR WHERE I WONDERED IF THE BRAKES WERE GOING TO WORK, OR FAIL POSSIBLE CAUSING A CRASH. WITH THE ABS NOT ACTIVE, THE CARS BRAKING STILL WORKS, AND NOT ONCE HAS THE BRAKES FAILED WITH THE ORANGE DASH LIGHT ON. THIS MAJOR PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY.,,, FORD STILL HAS NOT CONTACTED ME WITH A REPLACEMENT FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE TAKATA AIRBAG THAT IS CURRENTLY UNDER RECALL. SO I AM DRIVING A CAR WITH A FAILED ABS SYSTEM, AND A AIR BAG THATS A BOMB WAITING TO GO OFF SPRAYING ME WITH SHRAP METAL . AND THE CAR IS NOT UNDER RECALL ? THE FORD FUSION IS A LEMON , AND UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED.
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal went down to the floorboard. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair. However, upon inspecting the vehicle, the dealer informed the contact that the vehicle had passed inspection and did not need to be repaired under the recall. The dealer then marked the recall as complete. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but provided no assistance and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
UNINTENDED ACCELERATION WHILE SLOWING DOWN (ROLLING WITH MY FOOT FEATHERING THE BRAKE) TO PARK IN A STALL AT MY LOCAL POST OFFICE MY 2008 FORD FUSION INSTANTLY ACCELERATED JUMP THE CURB CROSSED THE SIDEWALK AND HIT THE BUILDING. THE CAR CONTINUED TO REV SPINNING THE FRONT WHEELS UNTIL I SHUT IT OFF WITH THE KEY. I VERIFIED THERE IS NOTHING BLOCKING THE PEDAL AND THE FLOOR MAT IS SECURE AND CLEAR OF THE ACCELERATOR. I HAD MY FOOT FULL HARD ON THE BRAKES AND WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE CAR. FORTUNATELY, NO ONE WAS HURT.
I AM A U.S. ARMY SERVICE MEMBER AND I AM TRYING SHIP MY CAR BACK TO THE STATES HOWEVER IT HAS A RECALL ON IT FOR THE AIR BAG. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE NOW FOR DIFFERENT MECHANICAL REASONS AND THEY TOLD US THAT IT HAD THE RECALL. HOWEVER, THEY DON'T HAVE THE REPLACEMENT PARTS FOR IT. CAN YOU PLEASE PROVIDE A WAVIER OR SOMETHING SO WE CAN SHIP OUR CAR? I LIVE IN OTTERBERG GERMANY.
SON WAS IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE HE REAR ENDED A VEHICLE. THE CAR IN FRONT STOPPED SHORT AND MY SON TRIED TO STOP BUT BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR. ACCIDENT OCCURRED ON RURAL 2 LANE ROAD AT ABOUT 30 MPH. WHEN THE ABS IS ENGAGED, BRAKES GO SOFT/ARE LOST. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TO 4 TIMES SO FAR. SO WHEN THE ABS ACTIVATES, I LOSE ABOUT 80 PERCENT OF MY BRAKING CAPABILITY AND HAVE TO PUSH THE BRAKE ALL THE WAY TO THE GROUND FOR IT TO EVEN SLOW DOWN THE CAR. IT DOES NOT EVEN STOP THE CAR, IT JUST SLOWS THE CAR A LITTLE BIT. THE CAR THEN NEEDS TO BE RESTARTED FOR THE BRAKES TO WORK AGAIN. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT OF THIS WAS IN WASHINGTON DC. THE ABS ENGAGED ON A CITY STREET AND THE CAR ROLLED INTO THE INTERSECTION BECAUSE THE BRAKES FAILED. THERE WAS NO COLLISION BUT ONLY NARROWLY.

TAKATA RECALL - I REPORTED THIS ISSUE ALMOST 4 YEARS AGO. I THE DASHBOARD IS COMPROMISED, BUCKLING UPWARDS. I HAVE RECEIVED 2 NOTICES, NOTHING PERTAINING TO A REPAIR. FORD HAS BEEN NO HELP AND I HAVE FEARED FOR 4 YEARS THIS BAG INADVERTENTLY GOING OFF.
"TAKATA RECALL" I HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE VIA US MAIL TO HAVE MY AIR BAG REPLACED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF MY CAR. HOW LONG SHOULD THIS TAKE? WHAT IF SOMETHING SHOULD HAPPEN AND THERE IS NO AIR BAG TO DEFLAT? WHO IS RESPONSIBLE? THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON 6 MONTHS NOW.
MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION EVERY TIME THE PROBLEM OCCURS. I LOSE ALL BRAKING ABILITY FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO TO NO MORE THAN FIVE SECOND PERIODS. THIS HAS OCCURRED ON SIX TOTAL OCCASIONS ON DIFFERENT DAYS AND MONTHS.I HAVE REPLACED MY VEHICLES MASTER CYLINDER SIX MONTHS AGO. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING MY OWN CAR. I HAVE WITNESSES THAT CAN CONFIRM THIS INFORMATION. THE PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED ON HIGHWAYS, PUBLIC ROADS, ALSO IN PRIVATE DRIVES.
BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR WHILE DRIVING AND BRAKING ON A BACK ROAD. HAD TO PUMP BRAKE PEDAL SEVERAL TIMES TO GET TO STOP. TOOK TO FORD DEALER WHO REPORTED NO LEAKS BUT INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WITH ABS AND ABS HCU. SAID IT HAPPENED INFREQUENTLY WITH THIS MODEL. ONLY FIX IS TO REPLACE EXPENSIVE ABS MODULES. FOUND NUMEROUS REPORTS ONLINE OF THIS PROBLEM WITH OTHER 2008 AND 2009 FORD FUSIONS. THERE SHOULD PROBABLY BE A RECALL. DEALER DID NOT RECOMMEND REPLACING ABS MODULES AT THIS TIME SAID CONSIDERED VEHICLE SAFE.

SUDDEN BRAKE FAILURE AFTER APPLYING BRAKES ON DAMP PAVEMENT. SPEED WAS ABOUT 30 MPH ON A CITY STREET. AFTER PUMPING PEDAL, BRAKES RETURNED BUT PEDAL WAS SOFT AND NEARLY TO THE FLOORBOARD. BRAKES HAVE REMAINED SOFT GREATLY EXTENDING BRAKING DISTANCE MAKING VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. THIS CAME WITHOUT ANY WARNING OR INDICATION ON THE DASHBOARD THAT BRAKE SYSTEM WAS COMPROMISED. AFTER SPEAKING WITH A FORD TECHNICIAN, THE OPINION WAS POSSIBLE FAILURE OF THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL MODULE AND NEEDED TO BE FOLLOWED UP. THIS INCIDENT WAS A VERY CLOSE CALL WITH A UTILITY POLE AND THANKS TO A WORKING EMERGENCY BRAKE AND QUICK THINKING, AN ACCIDENT WAS AVOIDED. THIS NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED WITH A POSSIBLE RECALL.

DASH BOARD IS WARPED. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS TOLD THAT THEY NO LONGER HAD THE DASHBOARD. THIS DASHBOARD IS SO WARPED IT IS AN ISSUE TO THE AIRBAGS.
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR THE BRAKES ARE VERY "SPONGY". WHEN TRYING TO STOP QUICKLY I ALMOST WENT THROUGH THE RED LIGHT ON A MAJOR INTERSECTION! THE PEDAL WENT PRACTICALLY ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND I DIDN'T THINK I WAS GOING TO BE ABLE TO STOP. I HAVE TO PREPARE MYSELF TO STOP WHEN I NEED TO AND I STAY A DISTANCE AWAY FROM OTHERS BECAUSE I AM SCARED THE BRAKES WON'T STOP ME! THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL, THIS IS SO SCARY AND UNSAFE TO DRIVE!
I WAS TRAVELING AT 65 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY AND HAD TO STOP QUICKLY WHICH ENGAGED THE ABS. AFTER ABS ENGAGED, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME MUCH LOOSER, WHERE THE BRAKE PEDAL WOULD ALMOST TOUCH THE FLOOR AND REQUIRED MUCH LONGER DISTANCE FOR THE CAR TO STOP FOLLOWING THIS EVENT. IT APPEARS THIS FAILURE IN THE BRAKE SYSTEM IS DUE TO THE ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT CAUSING FOR VERY UNSAFE CONDITIONS IN THIS VEHICLE.
BEEN EXPERIENCING INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE (E.G., RUNNING UP ON VEHICLES AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS). TWO DAYS AGO, WIFE UNABLE TO STOP IN PARKING SPACE - RAN UP AND OVER THE STOP-BLOCK. I CHECKED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND BRAKE PEDAL MOVES SLOWLY TO FLOOR UNDER CONSTANT FOOT PRESSURE. DEALER SAYS HCU NEEDS REPLACING.
WAS DRIVING ON ROUTE 72 IN VONORE TN AREA AND SLOWED DOWN TO TURN LEFT -BRAKES DIDN'T "GRAB" AND CAR DIDN'T SLOW DOWN. THIS HAPPENED BEFORE DON'T LOSE ALL BRAKE BUT DOWN TO LIKE 10%. NEVER RETURNS TO NORMAL UNLESS I FIND A PARKING LOT TO REVERSE AND THEN SLAM ON BRAKES HARD - WAS TOLD TO DO THIS BY BRAKE MECHANIC.
TAKATA RECALL - I WAS FIRST NOTIFIED IN JUNE 2016 THAT THERE MIGHT BE A RISK OF HARM DUE TO PASSENGER AIRBAG. I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT GETTING IT REPLACED. I JUST CALLED A LOCAL FORD DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT WHEN THE PART BECOMES AVAILABLE I WILL BE NOTIFIED. THIS IS TAKING WAY TOO LONG AND I AM SO NERVOUS ABOUT MY PASSENGERS SAFETY MY KIDS ARE NOT ABLE TO SIT IN THE FRONT SEAT. THIS IS RIDICULOUS.
HAD NEW FRONT BRAKE PADS INSTALLED NOV 2017. DURING RUSH HOUR GOING 25 UNDER THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT OF 45 MPH (AS FAST AS I COULD SAFELY GO WITH TRAFFIC), I WAS REAR ENDED. BRAKES WOULD NOT WORK, BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. CRASHED INTO CAR IN FRONT OF ME. AFTER REPAIR (NEW FRONT END), BRAKES WILL STILL GO ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR ON OCCASION, AND ARE VERY JUMPY-LIKE IT'S STOPPING THEN RELEASING RAPIDLY. 3 SHOPS HAVE FOUND NO ISSUES.

UPON APPLYING THE BRAKES WHEN APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT AND GOING OVER A SMALL BUMP, THE BRAKES FAILED AND IT TOOK EXTENDED DISTANCE TO STOP CREATING A HAZARDOUS EVENT ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. SINCE EVENT OCCURRED, THE BRAKES FEEL SPONGY AND IT TAKES EXTENDED BRAKING DISTANCE TO STOP. AFTER RESEARCH AND DIAGNOSTICS I WAS INFORMED IT IS THE ABS MODULATOR FAILING. I CALLED FORD TO DISCUSS THE ISSUE AND INQUIRE ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF THE COMPLAINTS, BUT YET NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. THE GIRL I SPOKE TO SUGGESTED GOING TO A FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE A DIAGNOSTICS TEST PERFORMED. SHE ALSO KEPT RESTATING THE AIRBAG ISSUE. I REQUESTED TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR. SHE RESPONDED SAYING SHE WOULD TRANSFER ME, HOWEVER, SHE JUST REDIRECTED ME TO THE MAIN MENU.

HAS HAPPENED IN THE PAST, BUT SEEMED TO HAVE "CORRECTED" ITSELF. RECENTLY HAVE HAD SNOWY, WET ROAD CONDITIONS AND ISSUE HAS COME BACK. VERY UNSAFE, COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT, COULD RESULT IN INJURY AND/OR DEATH. READ A LOT OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT SAME ISSUE. THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED AND RECALLED FOR BRAKE FAILURE. THIS IS A DEFINITE SAFETY RISK, NOT ONLY FOR THE OCCUPANTS IN THE FORD, BUT ALSO FOR ANY VEHICLES AND/OR PEDESTRIANS IN THE AREA WHEN BRAKE PEDAL FAILS. MILEAGE ON SAID VEHICLE IS 142,977. NOT SURE OF DATE WHEN FIRST HAPPENED. PEDAL FADE WHEN AT STOP, TRYING TO STOP, CITY ROADS, HIGHWAY SPEEDS, BASICALLY ANYTIME BRAKE PEDAL APPLIED.
