I WAS DRIVING HOME AND AS I WENT TO TURN I NOTICED IT WAS HARD TO TURN SO I PULLED OVER AND TURNED THE CAR OFF THEN TURNED IT BACK ON AND MY SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE MECHANIC SUGGESTED TAKING THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000. *BF *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR FLASHED AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED. THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND HAD IT TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND THEN TO HER HOME. THE CONTACT CALLED DON GASGARTH'S CHARLOTTE COUNTY FORD (3156 TAMIAMI TRAIL, PORT CHARLOTTE, FL 33952, 888 313-9652) AND WAS INFORMED THAT SHE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND THE REPAIR. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN.
DRIVING AND POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING AND ALMOST WRECKED TOOK TO SHOP FOR REPAIRED. THEY SAID IT WOULD COST $2800/3000 TO FIX. THEN CHECKED FOR RECALL.BUT 2010 WAS NOT COVERED BUT 2011WAS COVERED BY RECALL .THIS ARE THE SAME PART WHY IS IT SAFETY CONCERN FOR 2011 AND NOT FOR 2010.DO THE PEOPLE NOT NEED SAFETY???

POWER STEERING HAS CEASED TO FUNCTION AND THE MANUAL STEERING IS VERY DIFFICULT. THIS IS THE SAME PART NUMBER THAT WAS RECALLED IN 2011-2013 MODELS. WHY WASNT EVERY VEHICLE THAT USED THIS SAME STEERING RACK RECALLED? FORD WANTS ME TO PAY OVER $1600 FOR THE REPAIR. THIS INVESTIGATION HAS BEEN ONGOING FOR SOME TIME AND NEECS TO BE CONCLUDED SO I CAN GET MY CAR ON THE ROAD AGAIN. THE CARS STEERING STOPPED WORKING WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY CLOVERLEAF ONRAMP, AND SENT ME OFF THE ROAD AND ONTO THE SHOULDER. LUCKILY, THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE WAY, AND I WAS ABLE TO GET CONTROL BEFORE GOING DOWN AN EMBANKMENT.
THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED TURNED ON LOST POWER STEERING AND POSTS THE CODES "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" AND "ADVANCETRAC NEEDS SERVICE." IT MAKES CONTROLLING THE CAR DIFFICULT AND DANGEROUS. WE CHECKED ONLINE AND NOTICED THERE HAVE BEEN HUNDREDS IF NOT THOUSANDS OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS. FORD KNOWS THIS IS A PROBLEM ON THIS MODEL CAR AND HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT IT. VERY DANGEROUS AND DISAPPOINTING. NOT A GOOD REPRESENTATION OF AN AMERICAN COMPANY.

MY SON WAS DRIVING HOME LATE ONE NIGHT ALONG A BUSY FREEWAY AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN THE POWER STEERING FAILED. MESSAGE ON DISPLAY SAYS POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. WHY WAS THERE NO RECALL ISSUED FOR THE 2010 MODELS AND AL THE REST>?????? VERY UPSET WITH FORD.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAULT. THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILED ON ME MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE PAST WEEK. IT WILL BE WORKING FINE THEN OUT OF NOWHERE STOP WORKING AND MAKES THE CAR REALLY HARD TO STEER. ITS HAPPENED WHEN STATIONARY AND IN MOTION WHEN PULLING IN OR OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY. NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AND FIXED. I HAVE STOPPED DRIVING THE CAR UNTIL IT GETS RECALLED AND FIXED FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND OTHERS.
MY CAR HAS 200800 MILES ON IT, MY ELECTRIC RACK AND PINION HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES AND JUST LAST MONTH IT WENT OUT WHILE GOING 65MPH ON THE HIGHWAY, I CUT OFF A SEMI TRUCK AND SOME CARS AND ALMOST TBONED THE CEMENT BARRIER. I COMPLAINED TO FORD FOR A SECOND TIME REGARDING THE ELECTRONIC STEERING RACK AND SINCE IT IS NOT RECALLED IT IS UNABLE TO BE REPLACED. MOST OF THE PEOPLE IN THE CALL CENTER ARE NOT FLUENT IN ENGLISH SO ITS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO GET ISSUES RESOLVED. THE PART IS MADE IN NEW MEXICO AND MY ONLY ALTERNATIVE IS TO PURCHASE A REFURBISHED RACK. I REFUSE TO BUY THIS RACK BECAUSE ITS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH FORD FUSIONS AND MOST PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD THIS ISSUE HAVE GOTTEN INTO SERIOUS ACCIDENT OR NEAR MISSES SUCH AS MYSELF. THE CAR CURRENTLY SITS AT THE AUTOSHOP WHILE I DRIVE A RENTAL UNTIL I CAN AFFORD TO BUY THE 1300 PART AND HAVE FORD CHARGE ME AN ADDITIONAL 1150 TO INSTALL IT. THE STEERING GRINDS AND STICKS OR FREEZES IN ONE DIRECTION. IF A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IS EVER FILED THROUGH FORD FOR FAILED PRODUCTS, THEN SIGN ME THE HELL UP.
STARTED CAR THIS MORNING 1/26/19 AND THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS UNABLE TO STEER OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY. CURRENTLY TOWING THE CAR TO FORD OF KIRKLAND, WA FOR FURTHER ANALYSIS.
POWER STEERING ASSIST DEFAULT. WHEN DRIVING AT MULTIPLE SPEEDS THE STEERING LOCKS UP AND BECOMES IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN. IT OCCURS BOTH ON CITY STREETS AND ON THE HIGHWAY. THAN THE LORD I WAS ABLE TO MUSCLE IT TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. IF MY WIFE OR DAUGHTER WERE DRIVING IT WOULD'VE BEEN A CATASTROPHE.HIS HAS HAPPENED AT LEAST 5 TIMES OVER A 6 MONTH PERIOD. EVERY TIME IT HAPPENED I WOULD TURN THE CAR ON AND OFF AND WAIT FOR IT TO RESET. FORD HAS RECALLED THE 2011-2012 FUSIONS BUT NOT THE 2010. ALL 3 YEARS OF FUSIONS HAVE THE EXACT PART MADE BY TRW (EPAS)
THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING INTERMITTENTLY STOPS WORKING WHEN DRIVING. I GET THE MESSAGE SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW MESSAGE ON MY DASHBOARD.
POWER STEERING FAILED SEVERAL TIMES DURING LOW-SPEED DRIVING. LOST BOOST AND VEHICLE WAS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER IN CURVED DRIVEWAY. AFTER THIRD FAILURE IT BECAME CLEAR THIS COULD BE A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD IF IT FAILED AGAIN AT HIGHER SPEED. ENTIRE POWER STEERING RACK HAD TO BE REPLACED FOR $2400.
ON 01/16/2019 WHEN I WAS LEAVING MY HOUSE, I STARTED THE CAR AND WHEN I PUT IT IN REVERSE, THE STEERING LOCKED AND WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON SAYING SERVICE ADVANCETRAC. I WAS NOT ABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL. I STOP AND PUT CAR IN PARK. THE STEERING CAME BACK ON AND I WAS ABLE TO GET WARNING LIGHTS OFF BY RESTARTING CAR. THE FOLLOWING DAY IT DID THE SAME EXACT THING. I DID NOT DRIVE IT MUCH TILL 01/21/2019. THAT AFTERNOON WHILE TURNING RIGHT ONTO A COUNTY HIGHWAY, THE SAME THING HAPPENED WHILE PARTWAY THREW THE TURN. I WAS NOT ABLE TO STEER AND ALMOST HIT THE ONCOMING CAR BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO TURN MY CAR TO COMPLETE THE TURN I WAS PART WAY INTO WHEN FAILURE HAPPENED. I ENDED UP COMING TO A STOP ON THE LEFT SHOULDER. THANK GOD THE OTHER DRIVER WAS PAYING ATTENTION. AND SWERVED TO AVOID HITTING ME WHEN I CROSSED INTO HIS LANE. THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ! CAME ON. AND WARNING SAID SERVICE ADVANCETRAC AND SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW. WAS ABLE TO RESTART CAR AND IT WAS BACK TO NORMAL. VERY SCARY! MY CAR HAS THE SAME RACK AND PINION AS THE CARS THAT ARE COVERED BY THE RECALL 15S18. MY CAR HAS MANUFACTURING DATA OF 06/09/2010. THEREFORE IT'S NOT PART OF THE RECALL. BUT IT'S THE SAME PART AND SAME PROBLEM. PLEASE MAKE THEM EXPAND THE RECALL TO COVER ALL CARS AFFECTED. MY CAR HAS 123,456 MILES ON IT WHEN ISSUE STARTED.
I START MY VEHICLE IT RUNS FINE FOR A FEW SECONDS THEN IT STALLS IT WON'T ACCELERATE AT ALL OR MOVE
I WAS JUST LEAVING A GAS STATION WHEN I HEARD BEEPING. I LOOKED DOWN AND SAW MY POWER STEERING ASST FAILURE LIGHT WAS ON AND MY SERVICE ADVANCE TRACK LIGHT. I LOST ALL POWER STEERING. I HAVE LOOKED UP AND SEEN YOU GUYS HAVE COVERED THE 2011 TO 2012 BUT NOT THE 2010 EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE
POWER STEERING FAILURE - LOST STEERING CONTROL. FORTUNATELY THIS HAPPENED IN MY DRIVEWAY OR I WOULD HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND IT GOES OUT SUDDENLY.
I WAS DRIVING MY 2010 FORD FUSION AND MY POWER STEERING JUST WENT OUT ON ME OUT OF NOWHERE WITH NO WARNING AS I WAS TURNING RIGHT, MAKING IT SO I COULDN'T TURN THE WHEEL. THIS CAUSED ME TO HIT A CURB WHICH LUCKY DIDN'T DAMAGE MY FENDER OR BUMPER BUT DAMAGED MY RIGHT FRONT TIRE CAUSING IT TO BE PUSHED BACK. NOW THERE IS 'SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW' WARNING ON MY CAR. FORD SAID I WOULD NEED A NEW STEERING RACK AND I'VE SEEN SO MANY OTHER ONLINE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND A RECALL FOR THE 2011 MODEL, BUT NOT THE 2010.
POWER STEERING SATURDAY NIGHT 1/12/19 MY FAMILY AND I WERE DRIVING HOME WHEN WE HEARD A BEEPING SOUND. I LOOKED DOWN AT THE DASH AND IT READ: "ADVANCE TRAK SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW." IT HAS NEVER DONE THIS AND WE BOUGHT THIS BACK IN OCTOBER, 2018. IT'S NEVER GIVEN ANY SIGN AS TO GOING OUT TIL THAT NIGHT. WE WERE FORTUNATE TO GET HOME SAFELY. FORD IS EXPECTING ME TO PAY THEM TO DIAGNOSE IT AND POSSIBLY RESET IT, WHICH MAY OR MAY NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. I'M DISAPPOINTED THAT THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS SEEING AS HOW MANY COMPLAINTS THERE ARE FOR THIS EXACT ISSUE. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THESE 2010 MODELS SEEING AS THE DID SO FOR LATER MODELS. IT'S UNSAFE TO DRIVE NOW FOR FEAR OF GETTING INTO AN ACCIDENT. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS.
2010 FORD FUSION POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AT 45 MPH COMING HOME. LUCK WAS ON MY SIDE. I WAS ONE MILE FROM HOME ON A STRAIGHT STRETCH OF HIGHWAY AND STARTED LOSING POWER STEERING. I GOT INTO MY DRIVEWAY AND CUT THE CAR OFF . THIS WAS A FRIDAY.OVER THE WEEKEND I LOOKED UP THE LIGHT CODE AND GOT A LOT OF BAD NEWS ABOUT THE RECALL THAT DID NOT HAPPEN FOR THE 2010 FUSION ON THE POWER ASSIST STEERING. I BOUGHT CAR NEW FROM FORD. NOW HAS 101079 MILES ON IT. TRY TO MOVE CAR MONDAY. I COULD NOT MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL AT ALL. I CALLED THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY GOT A ROLLBACK TO BRING IT IN TO THEM. THAT WAS 125.00. TESTED FOR CODES FOR 125.00. RESET CODE AND DROVE IT FOR 12 MILES AND SAID IT MAY COME BACK ON. QUOTED 2500.00 TO REPLACE PARTS AND REALIGN FRONT TIRES..I AM MAD I DID NOT GET A LETTER WARNING ABOUT THIS WHEN THEY RECALLED THE 2011-12 MODELS. THE CAR WILL SIT STILL TIL I GET A RECALL NOTICE. I CANNOT AFFORD TO REPAIR IT AT THIS TIME.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE REVERSING INTO A PARKING SPACE, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY REVVED VERY HIGH BEFORE THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. AFTER TURNING THE VEHICLE OFF AND RESTARTING THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE OPERATED NORMALLY; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED APPROXIMATELY FOUR HOURS LATER. WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE ENGINE SUDDENLY BEGAN TO REV VERY HIGH AND THE ENGINE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED FORWARD AND CAUSED THE DRIVER TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER SHIFTED INTO PARK TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THERE WAS A CAR IN FRONT OF ME AND A CAR IN BACK OF ME. CAR VIOLENTLY SHOOK AND SPED FORWARD AT A FAST SPEED. CAR VEERED INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC AND WENT UP OVER THE CURB. CONSUMER'S FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE THE WHOLE TIME. CONSUMER PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND THE VEHICLE STOPPED. ENGINE WAS RACING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO JD BYRIDER (1561 WEST LIBERTY AVE, PITTSBURGH, PA) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE MOTOR MOUNT WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000. *BF*JB
POWER STEERING HAS FAILED TWICE IN THE PAST WEEK DURING DRIVEWAY LOW-SPEED MANEUVERING FOLLOWING COLD START AND CAR BECAME DIFFICULT OR IMPOSSIBLE TO STEER. IN ONE OF THE TWO CASES A FAULT MESSAGE APPEARED. POWER STEERING WAS RESTORED BY TURNING ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTING. NO DAMAGE OCCURRED DUE TO LOW SPEED (1-3 MPH) BUT HAD THIS HAPPENED A MINUTE LATER TWO NEIGHBORHOOD CHILDREN WALKING TO THEIR SCHOOL BUS WOULD HAVE BEEN ENDANGERED.

THE POWER STEERING KEEPS GOING OUT. WHEN I START THE CAR, THE SCREEN ON THE DASH READS "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT". WHEN I RESTART THE CAR, IT WORKS AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE STATIONARY AND I AM TERRIFIED OF THE DAY IT GOES OUT WHILE DRIVING WITH MY 3 KIDS IN THE CAR.

TAKATA RECALL -- IT'S BEEN OVER A YEAR SINCE I RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD AND THIS ISSUE STILL HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. SEEMS LIKE AN EXCESSIVE AMOUNT OF TIME TO WAIT FOR A FIX WHEN IT'S POSSIBLE THE AIRBAG COULD EXPLODE UPON ACCIDENT.

I WAS INVOLVED IN A DIRECT HIT ACCIDENT AT APPROXIMATELY 50-55 MPH. NEITHER OF THE FRONT AIRBAGS DEPLOYED IN THE CAR.

HAD MULTIPLE OCCASIONS OF POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURES WHILE DRIVING WITH NEAR ACCIDENTS EACH TIME (THANKFULLY DID NOT OCCUR). POWER STEERING WAS RESTORED AFTER SHUTTING OFF AND BACK ON. TOOK INTO FORD DEALERSHIP AND THEY STATED THAT THE ELECTRONIC STEERING RACK HAS AN INTERNAL FAILURE REQUIRING REPLACEMENT. 1966$ TO FIX. DISAPPOINTED IN FORD AND NHTSA FOR KNOWING THAT THE 2010 FORD FUSIONS LIKELY HAVE SIMILAR ISSUES TO THE RECALLED 2011-2013 ONES YET CHOOSE TO NOTHING ABOUT IT. HAPPY TO PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION IF REQUESTED.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEPAULA FORD (799 CENTRAL AVE, ALBANY, NY 12206, (518) 375-2163) WHERE THE MECHANIC ORDERED A NEW SEAT BELT SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED UNTIL THE NEW EQUIPMENT ARRIVED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. *TTT CONSUMER STATED STABLED WOULD NOT RELEASE AND BEGAN TO TIGHTEN ON HER (LAP & SHOULDER BOTH). CONSUMER HAD TO CUT THE STABLED. WHEN I START THE CAR, THE SCREEN ON THE DASH READS "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT". I AM UNABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL AT THIS TIME. WHEN I TURN OFF AND RESTART THE CAR, IT WORKS AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE STATIONARY IN THE PAST WEEK.

I HAD A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT ERROR ON MY CAR WITH A ADVANCE TRAC ERROR. I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE AND BROUGHT IT IN TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE SERVICED, AFTER THE INSPECTION THEY CALLED AND SAID IT IS THE POWER STEERING GEAR UNIT WHICH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR $2189. OBVIOUSLY NEEDING A VEHICLE I HAD TO DISH OUT THE MONEY WHICH IS UNFAIR DUE TO THIS SAME UNIT HAS BEEN RECALLED ON THE 2011 FUSIONS. PLEASE ASSIST SO WE MAYBE REFUNDED AND GET THESE FAULTY UNITS OFF THE ROAD AND REPAIRED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.

THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: CAS-17625481. WELL FOR ONE FORD WAS SUPPPSE TO HAVE DONE TRANSMISSION WORK ON MY CAR TWO YEARS AGO N NOW MY CAR IS DOING THE SAME THING. I HAVE PLENTY OF RECORDINGS OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAGS OFF LIGHT STILL COMING ON. SO IF U WOULD BE SO KIND AND GET THESE PROBLEMS N RECALLS TAKING CARE OF IT WOULD BE GREAT THANKS..

I BELIEVE THAT YOU ARE INVESTIGATING THIS ISSUE AND THAT FORD DID RECALL SOME VIN'S BUT NOT OTHERS.

CAR'S STEERING FAILED AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING AND THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING DOWN A CITY AFTER LEAVING THE FORD DEALER FOR A AIRBAG REPAIR AT 30-40 MILES PER HOUR. TOOK IT RIGHT BACK TO FORD DEALER SAID IT WOULD BE APPROXIMATE $2000 TO REPAIR. WE HAVE HAD THE CAR SINCE 6,000 MILES AND NOW IT HAS 65,000 MILES.
