POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. PWER STEERING STOPS WORKING
WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE, AND WHILE TURNING LEFT ONTO A SIDE STREET, THE POWER STEERING SUDDENLY QUIT WORKING. THE DASHBOARD MESSAGE READ 'POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT'. I ALMOST STRUCK S TREE!
TAKATA RECALL 18S01 NHTSA 18V046 AFTER RECEIVING RECALL LETTER ON FEB 2016, I CONTACTED MANY FORD DEALERS IN SOUTH JERSEY NJ, PHILADELPHIA PA AND IN BUFFALO NY TO REPLACE DEFECTIVE RECALLED AIR BAG. HOWEVER, THERE IS NO SINGLE DEALER HAS THE PARTS UNTIL DATE 5/31/2018. THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN THE PART WILL BE AVAILABLE AND SOME OF THEM SAID IT MAY BE AVAILABLE BY FOURTH QUARTER OR AROUND THE END OF 2018. THEY OFFERED RENTAL SMALLEST COMPACT CAR (NOT EQUIVALENT TO MY CURRENT CAR) WHERE I HAVE TO PAY DEALER EXTRA 10 TO 12 DOLLARS PER DAY PLUS INSURANCE COST (AVERAGE $350- TO $500 MONTHLY UNTIL UNDEFINED DATE) I WOULD LIKE TO FILE A COMPLAINT AS I I DON'T WANT TO BE EXPOSED TO SUCH DANGEROUS DEADLY AIR BAG. THIS IS LIABILITY OF MANUFACTURE NOT CUSTOMER FAULT. IN ADDITION I CAN'T AFFORD THIS EXTRA UNFAIR RENTAL COST IMPOSED BY DEALERS.
VEHICLE EXPERIENCED A DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT TIRE BLOWOUT AT HIGHWAY SPEED. POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING. TIRES REPLACED, POWER STEERING STILL INOPERABLE. SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW INDICATOR LIT. MAJOR DIFFICULTY TURNING WHEEL TO STEER.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WALT SWEENEY FORD (5400 GLENWAY AVE, CINCINNATI, OH 45238) WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING) WAS OPEN FOR 2011 AND 2012 MODELS, WHICH HAD THE SAME PART NUMBER: AE5Z3504CE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.

THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY HAVE NOT REPLACE MY AIRBAGS. I WANT THE AIRBAGS REPLACE BEFORE AN ACCIDENT HAPPEN. PLEASE HELP ME GET THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY TO REPLACE MY AIRBAGS. THANKS.
POWER STEERING FAILED ON MY 2010 FORD FUSION. AS MY 17 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING THE CAR THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON POWER STEERING PROBLEM. HE PULLED INTO OUR DRIVEWAY AND TOLD ME ABOUT THE WARNING LIGHT. I STARTED THE CAR UP AND DROVE IT, THEIR WAS NO POWER STEERING. I TOOK IT TO OUR LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THE COST WAS $1959.82 TO REPLACE POWER STEERING ASSEMBLY. FORD TECHNICIAN STATED IT WAS A POWER STEERING GEAR FAILURE.
I HAVE AN ACTIVE COMPLAINT #11115533. I ALSO AM CONCERNED ABOUT MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN SITTING PER THE AGREEMENT I NEEDED TO SIGN FOR FMC FOR 3 MONTHS, SINCE APRIL 26TH. AS OF TODAY THERE IS NO INFORMATION OF WHEN AIR BAG WILL BE AVAILABLE. THE TIRES, HOSES BRAKE SEALS ALL LOSE THEIR PLIABILITY AND SEALS CRACK(INCLUDING BRAKE HOSES AND CALIPER SEALS) NOT TO MENTION THE LESSOR FACT THAT I PAY FOR SIRIOUS RADIO FOR THE LAST 3 MONTHS WITH NO USE OF IT.
THERE HAVE BEEN RECALLS FOR FORD FUSION ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING UNITS FAILING FOR NO REASON. NHSTA IS ALREADY AWARE OF THIS AND HAS ISSUED A RECALL FOR FORD FUSION YEARS 2011-2012 AND POSSIBLY NEWER. MY CAR IS A 2010 FORD FUSION BUILT IN JUNE 2010 WITH THE SAME ISSUES AS THE OTHER FUSIONS WITH POWER STEERING RECALLS. I BELIEVE THAT 2010 MID-YEAR BUILT MODELS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED PART OF THE RECALL. I TURNED ON MY CAR THE OTHER DAY AND WHEN I TURNED ON THE CAR I HAD NO POWER STEERING AND THE TRIP COMPUTER LISTED THE FOLLOWING ERRORS: "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" AND "SERVICE ADVANCED TRAC". NHTSA ISSUED RECALLS FOR THE THIS REASON IN THE 20111 MODEL. MY FUSION IS MID YEAR BUILT (JUNE 2010) AND IS EXPERIENCING SIMILAR ISSUES. PLEASE ADVISE.
DRIVING IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT.
VEHICLE WAS IN PARK AND OFF WHEN I TURNED THE CAR ON THE STEERING WHEEL ASSIST FAULT CAME ON AND VEHICLE DOESN'T WANT TO MOVE NOW.
COMPLETE POWER STEERING FAILURE ON 2010 FORD FUSION SEL 3.0L V6. 'SERVICE ADVANCETRAC SYSTEM NOW' WAS DISPLAYED ON THE DASH PRIOR TO FAILURE. COST TO REPLACE THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM AT LOCAL FORD SERVICE CENTER WAS ~$1700. WAS DRIVING HOME WITH VEHICLE IN MOTION WHEN ALERT WAS DISPLAYED. WENT TO START THE CAR THE NEXT MORNING AND ALL POWER STEERING WAS GONE FROM THE VEHICLE. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS DISPLAYED BEFORE INCIDENT. TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) LIGHT WAS DISPLAYED BEFOREHAND, ALTHOUGH TIRE PRESSURE WAS ADEQUATE ALL AROUND.
POWER STEERING FAULT, ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING FAILURE. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES. TURN CAR ON, STEER FAILURE. TURN OFF CAR, RESTART & IT RESETS. LAST NIGHT TURNED CAR ON "POWER STEERING FAILURE", WOULD NOT RESET, THEN GOT A STABILITY FAILURE. NO POWER STEERING. WILL NOT RESET
SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW MESSAGE ON DASH. LOST ALL POWER STEERING AT 70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY. ALMOST HAD AN ACCIDENT. NEVER RETURNED AFTER TURNING OFF VEHICLE AND RESTARTING. VEHICLE CURRENTLY PARKED AS I HEAR FROM ONLINE COMPLAINTS REPAIR CLOSE TO $2000.

THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THAT THE VEHICLE BE TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
DRIVING ON A TWO LANE HIGHWAY AROUND 30 MPH WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING LOCKED UP SOLID. CAR VEERED TO RIGHT; WENT OFF THE ROADWAY AND SCRAPED A FENCE POST ON THE RIGHT REAR QUARTER PANEL .IT IS A GOOD THING I WASN'T GOING ANY FASTER.I WILL NOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE UNTIL IT IS REPAIRED FORD WILL NOT FIX IT THERE ESTIMATE IS 1800 DOLLARS.I AM RETIRED AND CANNOT AFFORD TO FIX THIS VEHICLE.THEY TOLD ME THE 2010 FORD FUSIONS ARE NOT ON RECALL BUT 2011 AND UP ARE HOW CAN THIS BE WHEN THEY ALL HAVE THE SAME ELECTRONIC PARTS I WAS A MECHANIC FOR OVER 40 YEARS AND I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. I CURRENTLY HAVE OWNED MY 2010 FORD FUSION FOR ABOUT A YEAR NOW. I LOVE MY CAR BUT I HAVE ONE PROBLEM. TODAY FEBRUARY 3RD, 2018 MY DRIVER SIDE POWER SEAT HAS STOPPED MOVING FORWARD OR BACKWARDS. I HAD BROUGHT MY SEAT ALL THE WAY BACK WHILE CLEANING MY CAR AND NOW THAT I AM GOING TO DRIVE I WENT TO BRING MY SEAT FORWARD AGAIN AND IT WILL NO LONGER MOVE. I CAN BARELY TOUCH THE PEDAL AND IT IS MY ONLY WAY OF TRANSPORTATION. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. I WENT TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT BUT NO FORD DEALER SHIPS WOULD TAKE ME TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM SO I HAD TO GO TO A DIFFERENT MECHANIC. I WAS INFORMED THAT THE MOTOR WAS BAD AND IN ORDER TO FIX IT AT A REASONABLE PRICE THEY WOULD HAVE TO GO TO A JUNK YARD AND FIND AN OTHER 2010 FORD FUSION WITH THE SAME EXACT SEAT TO TAKE THE MOTOR OUT OF THAT SEAT AND PUT IT IN MY CAR. I THOUGHT THIS WAS CRAZY IM GOING TO PAY 500$ FOR THEM TO PUT AN OLD PART IN MY CAR. SO I THEN CALLED WESTBOROUGH FORD IN MASSACHUSETTS TO ASK THEM IF THEY CAN GET ME THE MOTOR AND WHAT THE COST WAS. THEY THEN CONTINUED TO TELL ME THAT YOU GUYS NO LONGER SELL THE MOTORS SEPERATLY AND IF I WANTED THE MOTOR I WOULD HAVE TO SPEND A THOUSAND DOLLARS ON A WHOLE NEW FREAKING TRACK AND MOTOR ASSEMBLY FOR MY CAR AND WOULD NOT JUST GET ME THAT ONE MOTOR THAT IS BAD. I AM BEYOND FRUSTERATED BECAUSE THE MOTOR SHOULD NOT BE JUST CRAPPING THE BED IF ONCE ITS SET, ITS SET. ITS NOT ONE OF THOSE THINGS THAT IS ADJUSTED EVERY SINGLE DAY. WARNING LIGHT: ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE STEERING BECAME MUCH HARDER FORD HAS ALREADY ISSUED RECALLS FOR THIS ISSUE FOR NEWER MODEL YEAR FUSIONS INTERNET RESEARCH SHOWS TO BE A FAILURE WIDESPREAD PROBLEM. REVERSING SLOWLY SO NO DAMAGE OR INJURIES. ASSUMING FORD IS JUST WAITING ON A FATALITY FOR IT TO BE ECONOMICAL TO RECALL THE 2010'S SEEMS LIKE A MAJOR ISSUE AND THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE DID NOT SEEMED CONCERNED AT ALL.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT 55 MPH AND ALL OF A SUDDEN LOSE POWER STEERING. I HAVE CHECKED ALL FUSES, WIRES, AND HAD HOOKED TO A COMPUTER AND STILL CAN NOT FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING ON.
MY CAR KEEPS SWITCHING TO MANUAL STEERING WHILE I'M DRIVING. THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED FOR THE EXACT ISSUE BUT NOT FOR MY YEAR OR VIN. I ALMOST GOT IN AN ACCIDENT TRYING TO TURN ON A MAIN STREET
DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH 3 OCCUPANTS, AND THE STEERING WHEEL TIGHTENED. ONCE ON THE CITY STREET A LIGHT ON THE DASH FLASHED THEN ALL POWER STEERING WAS GONE.
TAKATA RECALL. I WAS FIRST NOTIFIED OF THE TAKATA RECALL IN FEBRUARY 2018. FORD TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD BE REPLACING THE AIRBAG IN THE THIRD QUARTER OF 2018 WHICH WAS SEPTEMBER. WE ARE NOW INTO THE 4TH QUARTER OF 2018 AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHY THEY ARE PLACING MY LIFE IN JEOPARDY BY TAKING SO LONG TO MANUFACTURE A REPLACEMENT AIRBAG.

POWER STEERING ASSISTANCE FAILURE, FAILED TO CONTROL THE CAR
BRAKES HAVE ON TWO OCCASIONS GOT WEAKER. WHEN PRESSING ON THE PEDAL, IT WENT ALMOST TO THE FLOOR AND WAS "MUSHY" FEELING. I'M AN ENGINEER AND DID SOME RESEARCH AND IT APPEARS TO BE IN THE ABS HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. I DID SOME TESTING AND COULD NOT GET IT TO REPEAT, INCLUDING SOME OFF ROAD DRIVING PUTTING THE CAR INTO SKIDS, ETC. NEITHER COULD MY MECHANIC FIND THE ISSUE. HE HAD HEARD OF THIS ISSUE AND SAID IT IS NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO DIAGNOSE. WE ARE ORIGINAL OWNERS WITH 130,000 MILES. THE MECHANIC REPLACED ALL FOUR CALIPERS (NEW SHOES, ETC) AND ENSURED THEY WERE NO STICKING.THESE TWO INCIDENTS OCCURRED FOR THE FIRST TIME THIS PAST YEAR.
