I APPROACHED A STOP SIGN AND AFTER STOPPING, I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE, BUT MY CAR HAD SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED POWER. THE WRENCH ILLUMINATED AND I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY GUIDE MY CAR TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. I TURNED MY CAR OFF, WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND STARTED IT AGAIN. IT STARTED WITH NO PROBLEM AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT TO THE GARAGE. I WAS TOLD I'D NEW A NEW THROTTLE BODY THAT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $300 TO REPLACE INCLUDING LABOR.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 68 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOST ACCELERATION INTERMITTENTLY AND A REPAIR SERVICE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT PULLED OVER, SHUT OFF, AND RESTARTED THE VEHICLE. THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE THROTTLE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.
WHILE DRIVING INTO A MODERATE LEFT CURVE ON A NARROW TWO LANE CITY STREET THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THIS RESULTED IN LOSS OF CONTROL ALLOWING THE CAR TO JUMP THE CURB AND INTO A FIRE HYDRANT. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED ONE MINOR INJURY TO A PASSENGER. CAR WAS TOTALED. NO TICKETS WERE ISSUED. THE CAR WAS UNDER A RECALL 15S34FOR SOME PROBLEM WITH THE PTCM AND FUEL TANK AND CANISTER PURGE VALVE AND WAS SCHEDULED TO REPAIRED 04/27/16. RECALL WAS FIRST RECEVIED ON 01//2016 BUT THE REPAIR OK WAS RECEIVED IN 04/16. THERE IS ALSO A PRELIMINARY EVALUATION BY THE OFFICE OF DEFECTS INVESTIGATION ON THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING ON THIS YR FORD FUSION.
ON THE EVENING OF APRIL 22, 2016 CAR SHUT OFF WHEN IN MOTION AT 35MPH ON A CITY STREET. NO INDICATOR LIGHTS CAME ON. PUT CAR IN NEUTRAL AND STARTED IT AFTER THREE ATTEMPTS. THE FOLLOWING MORNING I DROVE THE CAR 2 MILES TO MY FATHER'S HOUSE TO HAVE HIM CHECK IT. THE CAR SHUT OFF WHILE IN MOTION AT 25 MPH ON A CITY STREET. FIVE TIMES. A 10 MINUTE DRIVE TOOK ME MORE THAN 30 MINUTES. ERROR CODE P2111 CAME UP. MY CAR HAS UNDER 68,000 MILES. THROTTLE BODY. I BELIEVE THIS IS COVERED UNDER MY EXTENDED WARRANTY.
WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON A PAVED COUNTY ROAD, THE POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING, MAKING IT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STEER WHICH RESULTED IN THE FRONT WHEEL IMPACTING A CONCRETE CURB AND CAUSING THE TIRE TO BLOW OUT AND DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL.
VEHICLE WAS STOPPED IN FRONT OF A RESIDENCE AND IN PARK WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. SUDDENLY AND WITHOUT WARNING THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. UPON INSPECTION, THERE WAS BRAKE FLUID INSIDE THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT AND DRIPPING ON THE STREET BELOW. VEHICLE WAS DEEMED UNDRIVEABLE AND TOWED TO THE MECHANIC. PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED AS A BRAKE LINE FAILURE WHERE THE LINE ITSELF WAS INTACT, BUT THE RUBBER HOSE HAD COME LOOSE FROM THE CRIMPED METAL FITTING. ATTACHED PHOTO SHOW THE SECTION OF HOSE THAT HAD COME LOOSE
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE UNTIL THE DEALER REPAIRED IT FOR A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL TO ADDRESS THE CPV VALVE. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THEY RESET THE CODE, BUT DID NOT REPLACE THE CPV VALVE. SHORTLY AFTER THE REPAIR, THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WAS PERFORMED AND THEY WOULD COVER THE LABOR COST IF THE CONTACT REPLACED THE PART. THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT PROVIDE ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED MORE THAN THREE TIMES THAT THEY WOULD RESPOND BACK IN 24 TO 48 HRS, BUT THE CONTACT WAITED FOR WEEKS WITH NO SOLUTION. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,439.

THE CONTACT ALSO PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC HIMSELF, WHICH LOCATED THE SAME FAILURE CODE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,000.

THE INTERIM RECALL NOTICE FROM THE MANUFACTURER DID NOT GIVE A SPECIFIC DATE FOR WHEN THE PART WOULD BECOME AVAILABLE THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD BE REPAIRED. CAR STALLED IN PARKING LOT. FORD DEALER SAID IT WAS THE THROTTLE BODY, AND THAT THE REPLACEMENT WAS COVERED UNDER SOME TYPE OF EXTENDED WARRANTY. HOWEVER, I DO NOT HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE CAR, SO I WAS SUSPICIOUS. THEY DID CHARGE FOR A FUEL INJECTION SERVICE. RESEARCH ONLINE REVEALED THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH FORDS, AND THERE HAS BEEN NO RECALL OF THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY. THE CAR CAN STALL AT ANY SPEED, WITH POTENTIAL LOSS OF LIFE. I WOULD LIKE TO BE PART OF ANY FURTHER LEGAL ACTION ON THIS. FORD SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.
AS I PULLED OUT OF A GAS STATION (TURNING RIGHT), THE 'SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC AND POWER STEERING' WARNING CAME ON. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME, WITH EXTREME DIFFICULTY. UNABLE TO TURN THE WHEEL, I DID ALMOST HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE AS IT WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING. THE NEXT MORNING, STEERING WAS COMPLETELY GONE, I COULDN'T EVEN MOVE IT AN INCH, AND HAD TO BE TOWED TO A MECHANIC. AFTER TWO DAYS OF DIAGNOSTICS AND TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS GOING ON, THE MECHANIC WAS NOT ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG AND SIMPLY RESET THE COMPUTER. HE SAID IT NOW IS A MATTER OF WAITING TO SEE IF THAT HAPPENS AGAIN, AND IF IT DOES, HE WOULD SUGGEST A NEW RACK AND PINION.
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. POWER STEERING STOPPED WORKING WHILE DRIVING IN PARKING LOT.

POWER STEERING WENT OUT WHILE DRIVING DID NOT CAUSE ACCIDENT HOWEVER I WAS LUCKY I WAS ABLE TO GET CAR PULLED OVER AS IT BASICAALY HAD NO STEERNIG. MY GRANDFATHER WAS ABLE TO GET CAR HOME BUT I HAD TO BORROW HIS CAR TO GET TO WORK AS I AM A FEDERAL POSTAL WORKER. I HAVE REPAIR BILLS OF $1800.00+
STALLS IN TRAFFIC, GOES INTO "LIMP" MODE OR SHUTS DOWN COMPLETELY. GOOGLE SAYS ETB PROBLEM THAT DESCRIBES THE ISSUE EXACTLY.
THE SAME RECALL FOR OTHER FORD MODELS IN 2015 REGARDING THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR LATCH DESCRIBES EXACTLY THE SAME DEFECT FOR MY VEHICLE ON DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AND WHEN I TRIED TO OPEN THE DOOR HANDLE TO LET MYSELF OUT, THE DOOR HANDLE CORNER WHERE THE TENSION TO OPEN DOOR CHIPPED. I DIDN'T PAY MUCH ATTENTION AT THE TIME BECAUSE IT WAS STILL ABLE TO OPEN; HOWEVER, ON 3-23-17 AT ABOUT 9AM THE DOOR HANDLE TENSION WAS LOST ALL TOGETHER SO I WAS ACTUALLY LOCKED IN CAR WHILE PARKED. I SEARCHED THROUGH INTERNET TO FIND IF THIS ISSUE HAS REPEATED FOR OTHER FORD OWNERS, BUT ONLY FOUND FORD TAURUS, MKS, FIESTA AND 2011 FORWARD. WHAT OF THE 2010 FORD FUSION WITH THE SAME EXACT ISSUE WITH THE DOOR HANDLE AS DESCRIBED? FORTUNATELY OR UNFORTUNATELY, THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED SO THERE WERE NO ACCIDENTS. HOPING FORD WOULD EXPAND THE RECALL TO 2010 FORD FUSIONS SO TO PREVENT ACCIDENTS HAPPENING. THANK YOU!

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 51,000...UPDATED 05/02/16 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THERE WAS NO WARNING. WHEN THE FAULT OCCURRED, THE VEHICLE WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEEDS. THE COST OF THE REPAIR WAS AROUND $2,000. UPDATED 05/04/16
THE VEHICLE STARTING HAVING A ROUGH IDLE AND STALLING OUT AT A RED LIGHTS. I IMMEDIATELY HAD IT CHECKED, AND THE TECHNICIAN CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY WHICH SEEMED TO HELP FOR A FEW DAYS. THEN, WITH NO WARNING I SAW SMOKE/STEAM POURING OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD SO I IMMEDIATELY CALLED FOR HELP AND ASKED WHAT TO DO. I WAS ADVISED BY THE TECHNICIAN TO IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER AND SHUT THE CAR. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO LILLISTON FORD IN VINELAND, NJ. I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW MOTOR. WHEN ASKED WHY, I WAS CONSISTENTLY TOLD THAT THEY WERE NOT SURE WITHOUT TAKING THE MOTOR APART BUT THAT THEY FOUND ALL OF THE COOLANT IN THE ENGINE PAN, MIXED WITH THE MOTOR OIL. IT SEEMS TO BE THAT THE MOST LIKELY SCENARIO IS THAT THE HEAD GASKET WENT BAD AND COOLANT LEAKED INTO THE MOTOR CAUSING TWO THINGS TO HAPPEN - IT MIXED WITH THE ENGINE OIL (WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY BAD), AND SINCE NOW ALL OF THE COOLANT WAS OUT OF THE RADIATOR THE CAR OVERHEATED AND WARPED THE ENGINE BLOCK. THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY 6 YEARS OLD AND WAS RELIGIOUSLY MAINTAINED AND SHOULD NOT BE HAVING MAJOR ISSUES AS SUCH. CASE NUMBER: CAS-9188661.

NHTSA RECALL 15V-793 I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL DEALER NUMEROUS TIMES TO PERFORM THIS REQUIRED SERVICE BUT DEALER CLAIMS THAT SINCE JANUARY 2016 THAT PARTS ARE UNAVAILABLE. SERVICE MANAGER CLAIMS NO ONE HAS HAD THE ISSUE OF THE RECALL FIXED.I THINK THAT THE PROBLEM OF CRACKED GAS TANKS IS PRETTY SERIOUS. I WILL NOT PARK CAR IN GARAGE FOR FEAR OF FIRE. THERE SEEMS TO BE NO EFFORT ON FORDS PART TO CORRECT THIS SERIOUS ISSUE. THERE IS NO KNOWN DATE TO HAVE PARTS AVAILABLE. IT'S REAL SAD AS A CONSUMER TO HAVE A FAULTY VEHICLE KNOWING A FIRE OR WORSE, AN EXPLOSION MAY OCCUR. I WAS TOLD IF I SHOULD SMELL GAS TO PARK THE VEHICLE. I GOT A RECALL OVER A YEAR AGO ABOUT MY AIRBAGS NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE SINCE
THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT MY IN CAR WHILE I WAS DRIVING. THANK GOODNESS I DIDN'T HAVE A ACCIDENT. "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" INDICATION ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTER AS WELL AND AN ADVANTRAC LIGHT.
THIS VEHICLE HAS SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FOR THE POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE. I HAVE VIDEO OF WHEN MONE FAILED AND TOOK A LOT OF OTHER THINGS WITH IT LIKE THE AIR BAGS, BRAKES, ADVANCE TRACK SYSTEM AND MORE. I CALLED FORD ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SUCH FAILURE OCCURING! THIS IS BULL AND THEY NEED TO RECALL THOSE VEHICLES FOR REPLACEMENT BEFORE SOMEONE IS KILLED. JUST WONDERING IF THAT IS WHAT EVERYONE IS WAITING FOR BEFORE ANYONE FORCES THEM TO RECALL THESE VEHICLES. I HAVE VIDEO PROVING ALL THAT IT TAKES OUT WHEN IT FAILS. WHAT DO I DO FROM HERE FILE A LAW SUIT OF MY OWN? HAD I BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT WHEN THE POWER STEERINGWENT OUT I MOST LIKELY WOULD HAVE BEEN KILLED AS THE AIR BAGS WOULD NOT HAVE FUNCTIONED. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MY CAR REPLACED OR AT THE VERY LEAST REPAIRED. WHEN THIS HAPPENED TO ME I WAS DRIVING DOWN A HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH AND THE POWER STEERING FAILED THEN THE BRAKES THEN THE AIR BAGS. MOST EVERYTHING WAS TAKEN OUT BY THE FAILURE OF THE POWER STEERING. MY HUSBAND WAS WITH ME AND CAN ATTEST TO WHAT HAPPENED AS HE WAS THE DRIVER.
WE WERE DRIVING TO PICK UP OUR DAUGHTER WHEN THE SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW AND SERVICE ADVANCETRAC CAME ON THE MESSAGE BOARD. WE LOST POWER STEERING TO THE CAR. LUCKILY MY MOM'S HOUSE WASN'T FAR FROM OUR HOUSE. WE GOT HOME SAFE AND CALLED THE NEXT DAY ABOUT REPAIRS AND FOUND OUT IT WAS OVER $1500. THAT IS SOMETHING WE CAN'T AFFORD WITH A FAMILY. COME TO FIND OUT MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS PROBLEM WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL AND HAVE GOTTEN IT FIXED BUT THE PROBLEM KEEPS REOCCURRING. THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING TO HEAR ABOUT THIS CAR. THIS WAS MY WIFE'S DREAM CAR AND NOW WE FIND OUT ITS NOT AS SAFE AS FORD CLAIMS IT IS.
WHILE STATIONARY, THE VEHICLE LOST ALL POWER STEERING. THE STEERING RACK WAS REPLACED 1 MONTH AGO FOR THIS SAME ISSUE. WELL, THE PROBLEM CAME BACK. IT APPEARS TO BE A WELL KNOWN ISSUE WITH OTHER FUSION OWNERS. THERE IS A RECALL WITH 2011-2012, BUT NOT WITH 2010 WHICH USES THE EXACT SAME STEERING RACK. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. CAR IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE WITHOUT POWER STEERING. DO A FEW PEOPLE NEED TO DIE IN WRECKS FOR THIS TO BE ADDED TO THE RECALL?
TAIL LIGHTS ARE TOO HOT CAUSING BURNING OF TAIL LIGHT SOCKETS, EXPLODING BULBS AND MELTING OF TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY. TOXIC FUMES ARE BEING GENERATED BY THE MELTING PLASTIC. THE TAIL LIGHT/HEAD LIGHTS WERE ON AND WE WERE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. WHILE DRIVING WE SMELLED BURNING PLASTIC. UPON INSPECTION I FOUND THAT THE RIGHT TAIL LIGHT BULB WAS BURNED AND MELTED INTO THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY, THE LIGHT SOCKET WAS BLACK FROM BURNING. NOW THERE IS NO WAY TO SECURE THE TAIL LIGHT BULB INTO THE TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY DUE TO THE MELTED PLASTIC. SEE PHOTOS.
RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE, JAN. 2016 ABOUT A POSSIBLE FIRE WITH FUEL-LINE EMISSION??? CALLED THE 1800 NUMBER, AND WAS TOLD TO WAIT FOR "SECOND LETTER," WHICH HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH "FINDING" THE PART TO CORRECT PROBLEM - IN THE MEANTIME, MY CAR STALLED TWICE, ONCE ON A LOCAL STREET, THE LAST TIME WHILE DRIVING ON AN OPEN HIGHWAY! HAD AN APPOINTMENT WITH HARR FORD IN WORCESTER, MA FOR DIAGNOSTIC, BUT I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR THERE!
SERVICE ADVANCETRAC SYSTEM 2010 FORD FUSION SE 6SPD MANUAL, COMPLETELY LOSES POWER AT RANDOM TIMES, HAS OCCURRED 4 TIMES IN 5 DAYS. WILL BE DRIVING ALONG AT 40 TO 45 MPH STRAIGHT OR TURNING AT 5 TO 10 MPH OR EVEN GOING UP A STRAIGHT, SLIGHT INCLINE AND THE VEHICLE JUST LOSES POWER COMPLETELY, THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS UP AND THE SERVICE ADVANCETRAC SYSTEM ERROR MESSAGE APPEARS. I TURN CAR OFF, YES IN THE MIDST OF TRAFFIC WITH OTHER DRIVERS HONKING HORNS AND PRAYING NO ONE RUNS INTO ME, WAIT 5 SECONDS AND THEN TRY TO START THE VEHICLE, WHICH IT DOES RESTART, HOWEVER THE SERVICE ADVANCETRAC ERROR MESSAGE REMAINS. WHEN THE VEHICLE SITS FOR MORE THAN A FEW HOURS THE ERROR MESSAGE WILL NOT APPEAR. IT ONLY COMES ON WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUTS OFF COMPLETELY, WHICH BY THE WAY IS GOING TO GET ME KILLED. I AM A SINGLE MOTHER WORKING TWO JOBS MAKING THE TIME TO TAKE IT TO THE SHOP IS DIFFICULT, HOWEVER I WILL BE TAKING IT TODAY (3/14/16). LOSING POWER WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH IS NOT A SAFE SITUATION FOR ANY DRIVER ON THE ROAD. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED WHEN THIS OCCURS. I SEE THERE HAVE BEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS FOR THE SAME ISSUE ON THE SAME YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL, FORD NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS SITUATION QUICKLY.
WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK, THE SERVICE ADVANCE TRAC AND POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME AND I TURNED OFF THE CAR, WAITED A LITTLE WHILE AND TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND THIS TIME IT SAID "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" AND THE WHEEL WAS HARD TO TURN. IF 2010-2012 VEHICLES ARE AFFECTED, I DON'T GET WHY ONLY 2011-2012 ARE RECALLED. THANK GOD I WASN'T TOO FAR FROM HOME. I COULD'VE GOTTEN INTO AN ACCIDENT REGARDLESS.
I WAS TURNING LEFT AT A MAJOR INTERSECTION AND ALL OF SUDDEN I LOST POWER STEERING. ON MY MESSAGE SCREEN THE WORDS POPPED UP "SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW" THEN ANOTHER MESSAGE POPPED UP REGARDING TRACTION CONTROL. I ALMOST COLLIDED WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. I WAS ABLE TO MUSCLE THE CAR TO THE RIGHT AND AVOID THE COLLISION. IF MY WIFE WAS DRIVING, SHE WOULD HAVE HIT THE OTHER VEHICLE. THIS IS VERY MUCH A SAFETY ISSUE. WHEN I HEARD THE REPAIR COSTS TO GET IT FIXED, I CANNOT AFFORD TO HAVE IT FIXED AND NOW I AM MAKING PAYMENTS ON A VEHICLE I CANNOT DRIVE DUE TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE.

MY WIFE AND I WAS OUT LAST NIGHT AND THE STEERING STOP WORKING AND A LIGHT CAME ON THE MESSAGE PANEL SAYING ADVANCE SERVICETRAC AND SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW... THIS IS HIGH DANGEROUS BECAUSE WE WERE NO WHERE NEAR HOME AND I HAVE TO DRIVE ALL THE WAY HOME WITH NO POWER STEERING... I AM GLAD I DID HAVE OUR DAUGHTER IN THE CAR. I DON'T KNOWANT WHAT'S GOING ON BUT MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM AND NO ONE IS BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE, ONLY THE CONSUMERS. POVER STEERING IS NOT A SIMPLE FIX IT IS EXPENSIVE. WHAT ARE THOSE OF US WHO DON'T HAVE THE MONEY TO GET IT FIXED SUPPOSE TO DO. HOPEFULLY THIS ISSUE WILL BE RESOLVED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVESHAFT, SOLENOID, AND MOTOR MOUNT WERE DAMAGED DUE TO A FUEL LEAK. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THIS IS MY HUSBANDS CAR, THE POWER STEERING MESSAGE CAME ON THE DASHBOARD AND HE LOST CONTROL OF THE CAR WHILE HE WAS DRIVING ON A WINDING ROAD. HE WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT BACK HOME, BUT HAS NOT HAD ANY POWER STEERING SINCE. WE TOOK OUR CAR TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE WE HAD PURCHASED IT FROM. THEY SAID THAT OUR CAR NEEDED A NEW EPAS RACK. WE WERE QUOTED AT $1,600 TO REPLACE. WE HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO USE THE VEHICLE SINCE THIS HAD HAPPENED.
ADVANTRAC WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND ALSO POWER STEERING SERVICE NOW SIGNAL CAME ON. HAD NO POWER STEERING. POWER STEERING FAILURE SIGNAL HAD COME ON THREE OR FOUR TIMES IN THE PREVIOUS MONTHS. I WOULD TURN CAR OFF, TURN BACK ON AND POWER STEERING WOULD BE BACK TO NORMAL. THIS TIME POWER STEERING NEVER CAME BACK ON. DROVE TO DEALER, THEY CHECKED SYSTEM AND CLEARED CODES AND SAID I NEEDED A NEW STEERING RACK FOR $1,850.00. I DECLINED. THE POWER STEERING WAS WORKING AGAIN BUT HE SAID IT WOULD GO OUT AGAIN. WHY?, WHEN?. MY CAR DRIVES FINE SO WHY DID I NEED A $1,850.00 REPAIR. THIS IS CRIMINAL ACTIVITY. AM I DRIVING A COMPUTER WITH DEFECTIVE CHIPS OR A CAR WITH PARTS.

I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE 2010 FORD FUSIONS AND AM WONDERING IF ANYTHING IS GOING TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER WHEN I NOTICED IT WAS HAPPENING OTHERWISE I COULD HAVE BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT.

FORD RECALLED THE NEXT 2 YEARS FOR HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM, WHY HAVENT THEY RECALLED 2010 MODELS?! THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND CAN CAUSE AN ACCIDENT.

THE FIRST DEALER PERFORMED A ROUTINE MAINTENANCE CHECK IN ADDITION TO THE RECALL REPAIR. WHEN THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED, THEY CLEARED THE CODE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE IF THE DEALER PERFORMED A LEAK TEST ON THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE (CPV). THE DEALER DID NOT REMEDY THE RECALL. AFTER THE DEALER ALLEGEDLY COMPLETED THE RECALL REPAIR, THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING AND THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A SECOND DEALER FOR FURTHER INSPECTION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND REFUSED TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER COVERAGE TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE IF THE MANUFACTURER WOULD REMEDY THE FAILURE AND WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE VEHICLE WAS SAFE TO DRIVE. PRIOR TO THE REPAIR, THE ONLY FAILURE EXPERIENCED WAS THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT RANDOMLY FLASHING. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,168.
WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT SHIFT GEARS. IT CAUSED ME TO ALMOST GET INTO AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE THE CAR WOULD ONLY GO 20 MPH AND EVENTUALLY WOULD NOT GO AT ALL.
WHEN MAKING TURNS THE POWER STEERING GOES OUT AND "POWER STEER ASSIST FAULT" COMES UP IN THE MESSAGE CENTER. I CAN TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AGAIN AND IT USUALLY RESETS ITSELF BUT ALWAYS OCCURS AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED OVER 20 TIMES AND IS VERY DANGEROUS AS POWER STEERING IS LOST.
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
