There are 50 owner-reported electrical system complaints for the 2010 Ford Fusionin NHTSA's database. These are unverified consumer reports and may not reflect confirmed defects.
There is a recall date on this car dating back 2021. I bought this car in 2024. The recall problems was never addressed or fixed. This had created an electrical error in the car, given no airbags, and windows do not roll, nor does it give accurate reads on tire pressure. Unbeknownst of all this, a tire popped nearly cause me to wreck on I-5 early 2024. I have documentation supporting the sale of the car, the replacement of tires, oil changes, repairs & towing incurred all on behalf of this car. I would not have bought it knowing there was a recall that was not addressed. This car is a rebuilt title that has been in accidents.
Electronic throttle body failure My car lost power going 50 mph in road construction The car had a recall and extended warranty on it from 2014-2024, i was not notified Check engine light, drive shaft light, and service advance trac appeared a few weeks before the failure
Driving on the highway in the fast lane, vehicle suddenly lost all power. A message on the car said “ pull over safely “. No prior warning of anything wrong with the vehicle. I managed to dodge traffic with my hazard lights on and came to a stop on the side of the highway. I inspected the car with no signs of anything wrong. I shut down the car and restarted. Everything came back on and was drivable. This caused me to look online, only to discover that other people are having the same problem as I have described. TOTAL LOSS OF POWER. This is a very dangerous situation to be in, not able to keep moving on a very busy highway.
There was no incident this happened after. It literally just started a couple months ago out of nowhere. I tried to diagnose it myself. But the code was b-1342-e0 which is an ECU fault. I paid for a diagnostic to find out it was actually the ABS module sending the fault code to ECU. After some research, it appears 2010 fusions had a history of this ABS issue. Not sure why there is no recall, seeing as this could be a life threatening issue.
In regards to this particular issue surrounding the 2010 Fusion: https://www.vehiclehistory.com/articles/2010-ford-fusion-abs-module-recalls-explained My VIN: [XXX] The recall involves replacing the hydraulic control unit to fully restore the function of the ABS for Fusion assembled up to July of 2009. Mine has the exact issue specified, assembled in the exact same plant in Mexico, but was confirmed to be assembled in April 2010. Because of this my Fusion was excluded from the benefits of a free recall service, and the dealership was charging me $2,836 for the ABS module, hydraulic control unit & labor combined. I've since already purchased the two parts & I'm waiting on the labor to be conducted. Is there any way you guys can work with Ford to expand the recall? I'd LOVE to be reimbursed for this. It seems like an oversight by Ford, and it seems unfair that I have to drop nearly $3,000 on the exact same issue that's free for so many others. I can't stress enough, the issue mentioned in that article is the exact issue I've had, and it was born out of the same plant. Thank you so much for your time! ABS module. Potential safety risk. Huge lawsuit waiting to happen.
The car has multiple warning lights come on, including "Check Brake System" "Service Advancetrac" and "ABS". The car still brakes but only with much more force and brakes much more slowly. At first it was intermittent but now is stuck in this form. Ford has done a recall for my model (19S54) but my car was built 5 months after the last ones. It was manufactured in the same factory. Based on research, the fix seems to be replacing the ABS module and flushing out the brake fluid. I hope that the recall will eventually extend to later-built cars like my own.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the ABS warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the ABS module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the contact stated that after she retrieved the vehicle, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the traction control, the tire pressure, the ABS, the service brake warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the brake fluid leaked, the electrical system intermittently malfunctioned and the key fob failed to respond. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.
I was driving my 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid and as I was approaching a red signal light I applied pressure to my brakes and seen my dash alert me of my ABS system failing and my advanced Trac needs to be serviced due to my brakes not working properly I was almost involved in a serious collision. i had to pull on my e brakes to prevent injury, in result off I pulled off into the nearest lot and called a tow truck to take me and my vehicle to the dealership I was given a crazy repair charge and i was doing some research and i seen a recall for this issue, however i was advised that my VIN does not have any recalls. This is unsafe and needs to be addressed.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that after repairing an unknown recall, there was an abnormal noise coming from the A/C. In addition, the A/C was operating heat and not cool air and the contact mentioned the A/C failed to operate. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the blow motor assembly, blow motor restore, and low-pressure valve needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 161,288.
My vehicle was on and I was in motion heading to work when the wheel stopped turning and my car started saying “power steering assist fault”
DRIVER SIDE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLE STOPPED WORKING. UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS IF THERE WAS AN EMERGENCY NEED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED WHEN I STOPPED TO BUY GAS AND WAS UNABLE TO GET OUT WHEN I TURNED OFF THE CAR.
HELLO, MY NAME IS [XXX]. RECENTLY I BOUGHT A FORD FUISION 2010. I AM PRETTY FAMILIAR WITH CARS SO I UNDERSTAND THE COMMONLY ROUTINE OF TAKING CARE OF A CAR. IT'S BEEN ONLY 30 DAYS. THE FIRST FIRST INCIDENT THAT HAPPENED ON THE PARKWAY MY CAR SHUT COMPLETELY DOWN. I GOT IT TO WORK BACK UP BUT THEN I GOT A MECHANIC TO DO A TUNE UP. EVERYTHING WENT SMOOTH UNTIL I DROVE ABOUT 3,000 MILES INTO THE CAR & IT TOLD TO ME CHECK THE ENGINE OIL AND THE BRAKES. BY THE TIME I WENT TO START MY CAR UP THE LIGHTING SLOWLY FADED AWAY. EVENTUALLY THE CAR SHUT OFF COMPLETELY AND ALMOST ROLLED DOWN THE HILL. I IMMEDIATELY PUT THE CAR INTO PARK AND PUT ON THE EMERGENCY BRAKES. NOW THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN. I REPLACED THE SPARK PLUGS AND EVERYTHING. I'VE BEEN READING ABOUT RECALLS ON THE MODEL OF THE FORD FUSION 2010. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IF I COULD EITHER GET IT FIXED OR POSSIBLY A LETTER TO GET A NEW OR SIMILAR VERSION FROM THE CAR MODELS DEALERSHIP. I'VE ALSO INVESTED SO MUCH MONEY INTO FIXING THIS CAR AND IT JUST SEEMS TO BE FALLING APART. THE DAMAGE WAS ALL OF A SUDDEN. THERE WAS ALSO AN OIL LEAK. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 35 MPH, THE CHECK BRAKE SYSTEM MESSAGE DISPLAYED WITH THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE PEDAL EXTENDED TO THE FLOORBOARD AND THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THE BRAKE MODULE WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET REPAIRED. HALEY FORD RICHMOND LOCATED AT 10724 JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY, RICHMOND VA 23237 AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 152,000.
I STARTED MY CAR UP AND THE BRAKE , BRAKE LIGHT,ABS,AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT CAME ON AND EV DON'T TURN ON,NO BACK UP CAMERA
HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT AND ABS SYSTEM FAILURE. FORD RECALLED THE SAME SYSTEMS FOR THEIR 2010 FUSION. WHY IS MY 2010 FORD FUSION NOT INCLUDED??? FORD MUST EXPAND THEIR RECALL.
INTERIOR AC BLOWER MOTOR FAILURE. SAME ISSUE IN A PREVIOUS 2010 FORD FUSION. AIR WOULD FLUCTUATE ON AND OFF AND THEN WILL DIE COMPLETELY. NOTHING FIXES THE ISSUE BESIDES REPLACING BLOWER MOTOR AND RESISTOR.
PULLED OUT OF PARKING SPACE, MADE LEFT TURN, WENT ABOUT 50 FT. AND CAR TOTALLY DIED. NO BATTERY POWER AT ALL. NO DASH LIGHTS WHEN KEY IS ON, NO HAZARD LIGHTS, WON'T START, NO BATTERY POWER AT ALL. REMOVED BATTERY TERMINALS FOR A FEW MINUTES AND REPLACED. BATTERY POWER RESTORED, CAR STARTED AND EVERYTHING WORKED. NO RESETTING CLOCKS OR RADIO.*DT*JB *TR
DASH PANEL INDICATED DOOR AJAR, EMERGENCY AND OTHER BRAKES WERE ENGAGED, TIRE PRESSURE LOW, INTERIOR LIGHTS CAME ON, BLINKERS NO LONGER WORK. THIS ALL HAPPENED SUDDENLY WHILE DRIVING DOWN A FLAT STREET, 25 MPH, WEATHER WAS 65 DEGREES, DRY WEATHER, DURING THE DAY. *TR
THE EV SYSTEM IS NO LONGER WORKING. THE HYBRID BATTERY IS HEALTHY AND THE OWNERS MANUAL STATES IT IS EXPECTED TO LAST THE LIFETIME OF THE VEHICLE. MANY OTHERS HAVE NOTED THIS ISSUE AS THE BATTERY "AGING OUT" AS PROGRAMMED BY FORD. A SUGGESTED REMEDY IS TO RESET THE BATTERY TO AGE >0;<10. WITHOUT THIS RESET, THE HYBRID RUNS ON ONLY THE GAS MOTOR. AT TIMES, THIS DELAYS ACCELERATION BOTH FORWARDS AND BACKWARDS AS THE GAS MOTOR (ICE) STARTS BACK UP AFTER STOP. THIS HESITATION CAN EASILY CAUSE A WRECK WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC FROM A STOP.
