TAKATA RECALL: WE RECEIVED NOTICE FROM OUR DEALER IN TEXARKANA, TX IN NOV 2016. NO SERVICE YET. THEY SAY THEY HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE NECESSARY PARTS. ANY RECOURSE AVAILABLE?
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE DECELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED; HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO RESPOND. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 99,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING THE CAR SAID POWER STEERING FAILURE AND I COULD NOT DRIVE BY STEERING THE CAR WITH THE STEERING WHEEL BECAUSE IT WAS HARD TO TURN
THIS PAST WEEK WHEN PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY I SHIFTED MY CAR INTO PARK AND I COULD FEEL SOMETHING GIVE. I COULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK AFTER SO I REMOVED CONSOLE TO DO IT MANUALLY AS SHIFT INTERLOCK OVERRIDE WAS NOT WORKING. I CAN MANUALLY SHIFT BUT THE DASH INDICATOR IS OBVIOUSLY MISALIGNED AND IT WILL NEVER GO INTO PARK OR REGISTER ON THE DASH AS GOING INTO PARK (ONLY SEEMS TO RECOGNIZE PARK WHEN I KILL THE ENGINE IN NEUTRAL WITH HANDBRAKE ON AND THEN SHIFT TO PARK; THUS RELEASING THE KEY). OTHER THAN THAT I CAN GET IT TO GO INTO ALL OTHER GEARS(R, N, D, M) WITH SOME "FINAGLING". I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALER AS THIS PROBLEM IS ABOVE ME AND THEY JUST LOOKED AT IT THIS MORNING (11/21/16) AND THEY JUST CALLED WITH A QUOTE. THEY SAID THE LINKAGE WAS BROKEN AND I NEEDED A NEW SHIFTER ASSEMBLY. AT LEAST THAT'S WHAT I THINK THEY TOLD ME OVER THE PHONE.
POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. WHEN I STARTED THE VEHICLE, I CANNOT TURN THE WHEELS, AND THE DASHBOARD SHOWS "POWER STEERING ASSISTANCE FAULT".
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DEALER THAT SOLD THE VEHICLE WAS INFORMED SEVERAL TIMES THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TIGHT AND DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO WAS UNABLE TO REPLICATE AND DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE INDEPENDENT MECHANIC RECOMMENDED THAT THE VEHICLE BE DIAGNOSED BY AN AUTHORIZED DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO (SHAWNEE MISSION FORD, LOCATED AT 11501 SHAWNEE MISSION PKWY, SHAWNEE, KS 66203, PHONE N UMBER: (913) 631-0000 ) WHO STATED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM A MANUFACTURERS RECALL RELATED TO THE STEERING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
NOV. 13, 2016 I FILLED THE TANK WITH GAS. WHEN I GOT HOME THE TANK WAS LEAKING PROFUSELY. THE NEXT MORNING I DROPPED IT OFF TO A CHAIN AUTO SHOP. THEY WERE ABLE TO DETERMINE THERE WAS A LEAK IN THE FUEL ASSEMBLY AND ALSO REPORTED THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER RECALL THAT I SHOULD TAKE TO FORD DEALER. I RESEARCHED THE RECALL 15S34 THAT WAS ISSUED FEB 4, 2016 BUT MY PARTICULAR VEHICLE HAD BEEN "CLOSED OUT". THE DEALER IN MICHIGAN LOOKED AT THE CAR 24 DAYS AFTER THE RECALL WAS ISSUED AND DETERMINED THERE WERE NO ISSUES. THEY REPROGRAMMED THE PCM ON FEB 29TH. THE NEW PATCH WASN'T RELEASED UNTIL THE 1ST QUARTER (NO DATE). HOWEVER, 8 MONTHS LATER - THE FUEL TANK IS EXHIBITING SYMPTOMS CONSISTENT WITH THE RECALL. I ALSO NOTICED PREVIOUSLY THAT WHEN I FILLED UP, THE CAR DIDN'T TURN OVER RIGHT AWAY. FORD REFUSES TO TAKE CARE OF THE FUEL TANK AND REOPEN THE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE. FORD'S AUTOMATED PHONE SYSTEM FOR RECALL - 15S34 SPECIFICALLY MENTIONS THAT "THE CPV MAY DEVELOP AN INTERNAL LEAK WHICH UNDER CERTAIN CIRCUMSTANCES ALLOW EXCESSIVE VACUUM TO BUILD IN THE FUEL TANK. REPEATED CYCLES OF THIS CONDITION WILL EVENTUALLY CAUSE A CRACK TO DEVELOP. THE LETTER FROM MICHAEL BERARDI ALSO STATES THAT "INTERM REPAIRS FOR THESE VEHICLES ("CLAIMS WILL NOT CLOSE 15S34") WHY IS MY CAR NOT BEING TAKEN CARE OF BY FORD? THE LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED IS NOT WILLING TO HELP OUT EITHER.
WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY THE CAR SUDDENLY SHUDDERED. THE YELLOW WRENCH LIGHT CAME ON AND THE GAS PEDAL WOULD NOT WORK. FORCED TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER. SHUT CAR OFF WAITED 30 SECONDS AND TRIED TO RESTART. CAR STARTED AND WRENCH LIGHT WENT OUT. WAS ABLE TO DRIVE. HAS HAPPENED REPEATEDLY. I CALLED FORD AND THERE IS A CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03. TO ADDRESS THIS BUT SAID THEY COULD ONLY CORRECT IF THE COMPUTER SAVED A CODE. SINCE THIS PROBLEM HAS THUS FAR FAILED TO TRIP MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, IT IS NOT STORING A CODE. I ARGUED THAT IT WAS UNSAFE FOR ME TO DRIVE THE CARE LIKE THIS. THEY STATED THAT FORD DOES NOT RECOMMEND I DRIVE THE CAR AND STATED MY ONLY OPTIONS ARE TO TAKE TO DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE ONLY HOPE IS THAT THEY CAN DRIVE THE CAR AND MAYBE THE INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WILL LUCKILY HAPPEN. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THEY KNOW THE ISSUE EXISTS AND IS UNSAFE. I HAVE READ MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS OF THIS ON THE INTERNET. HOW MANY MORE ARE REQUIRED TO TRIGGER A RECALL?
"TAKARTA RECALL": I RECEIVED WRITTEN NOTICE, FROM FORD CORPORATION, THAT OUR VEHICLE WAS ON THE RECALL LIST, DUE TO OUR VIN NUMBER, REGARDING A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG. IT AS SUBSEQUENTLY CONFIRMED AT ST. CROIX, V.I.'S FORD DEALERSHIP, VIA COMPUTER PRINT-OUT THAT OUR CAR WAS ON THE RECALL LIST BUT THE DEALERSHIP RECEIVE NO PARTS FOR REPAIR.
THIS IS THE SECOND NOTICE OF MY ERROR MESSAGE ON MY FORD FUSION FOR THE "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT," THUS ENABLING ME TO HAVE POWER STEERING ON THE WAY HOME FROM WORK. I CAPTURED AN IMAGE, THIS TIME FOR DOCUMENTATION. THIS IS AFTER GOING TO MY LOCAL MECHANIC AND HE SAID THIS WAS A RECALL ISSUE, BUT MY LOCAL FORD DEALER (WALDORF FORD) SAID IT DID NOT APPLY TO MY VEHICLE.
SEVERAL TIMES!! WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE THE "ADVANCETRAC" AND ABS INDICATOR LIGHTS APPEAR ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. INFORMATION SYSTEM THEN SHOWS A POWER STEERING FAULT, ADVANCETRAC FAULT, AND SAYS TO GET STEERING SYSTEM SERVICE NOW. STEERING BECOMES EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. MECHANIC HAS RESET THE SOFT CODES AND PROBLEM GOES AWAY FOR AWHILE; HOWEVER, COMES BACK. WE HAVE REPEATED THIS PROCESS SEVERAL TIMES! FORD ISSUED RECALL #15S18; HOWEVER, THAT RECALL RUNS FROM BUILD DATES 9/7/2010-2/28/2012. BUILD DATE ON OUR FORD FUSION IS 8/20/2010. WHY IS FORD NOT ALSO REPAIRING / REPLACING THE PSCM OR STEERING MOTOR SENSORS IN OUR VEHICLES THAT ARE HAVING THE IDENTICAL ISSUE? WE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE, AND HAVE ALSO HAD IT OCCUR WHEN FIRST PUTTING THE VEHICLE INTO GEAR. IN THE LATTER CASE, SHUTTING THE KEY OFF FOR A MINUTE AND THEN RESTARTING CLEARED THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER, WHEN IT OCCURS UNDER MOVING DRIVING CONDITIONS, SHUTTING THE VEHICLE OFF DOES NOT CLEAR THE PROBLEM. THE VEHICLE THEN HAS TO BE TAKEN TO A MECHANIC THAT RESETS THE SOFT CODES WITH A SCAN TOOL.
"TAKATA RECALL" I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR WELL OVER A YEAR, PROBABLY CLOSER TO 2 YEARS WITH NO REMEDY

FRONT PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM EITHER INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. NO EXTERNAL DAMAGE, IT JUST ONE DAY WOULDN'T BUDGE FROM EITHER SIDE.
I SEEN ON YOUR SITE, THAT MY VEHICLE A 2011 FORD FUSION HAD A RECALL FOR BROKEN STUDS AND BOLTS.IT SAID THE RECALL WAS TO BEGIN IN 2012.I PURCHASED MY FUSION IN 2013, I HAVE BEEN TO THE FORD DEALER TWICE WITH BROKEN STUDS, COST ME 189.58 THE FIRST TIME TO HAVE ONE STUD ON EACH FRONT SIDE REPAIRED, THEN 645.19 TO REPLACE ALL ON BOTH SIDES OF FRONT WHEELS AGAIN IN 2016 AS TWO HAD BROKEN OFF AGAIN ON EACH SIDE.IT SEEMS MAYBE FORD DID NOT DO THE REPAIR ON MY VEHICLE AS THEY SHOULD HAVE, OR THE REPAIR IS NOT SUFFICIENT. THEY TRY TO BLAME THE TIRE COMPANY'S FOR OVER TORQUING THE BOLTS TWICE.THANKS MIKE
POWER STEERING FAILED WHILE CAR IS RUNNING. GET A WARNING MESSAGE "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAILURE" AS A RESULT OF THE STEERING GEAR FAILURE. DEALER RAN A DIAGNOSTIC AND CONFIRMED THE STEERING GEAR HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE HAPPENED TO BE IDLING BOTH TIMES THE FAILURE OCCURRED. VIN NUMBER NOT COVERED BY PRIOR RECALL ON 2011 FORD FUSION #15V340000 FOR THE STEERING:ELECTRIC POWER ASSIST SYSTEM. *TR
ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS MY BRAKE PEDAL HAS GONE TO THE FLOOR. MOSTLY WHEN I AM STOPPED IN TRAFFIC. TWICE PUTTING MY CAR IN REVERSE THE CAR SURGED AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR
WHILE I WAS DRIVING (ON HWY 301S, IN WALDORF, MD) I GOT AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT SAID "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT." I IMMEDIATELY LOST MY POWER STEERING AND I HAD TO MAKE A DETOUR TO TURN ON STREETS THAT WERE NOT CROWDED (THIS WAS ON A 10/21/16 DURING THE EVENING RUSH HOUR). FORTUNATELY, I WAS NOT FAR FROM MY HOUSE. I CALLED FORD (IN MICHIGAN) THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY ON 10/24/16 AND THE SAID MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER A RECALL, THAT INCLUDED "2011 FORD FUSION," JUST NOT MY VEHICLE. I TOOK IT TO MY REGULAR MECHANICAL AND THEY SAID IT SHOULD FALL UNDER THE RECALL, BUT MY LOCAL FORD DEALER (WHERE MY CAR WAS PURCHASED IN WALDORF) ALSO SAID IT WASN'T INCLUDED AND THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING. *TR
POWER STEERING RECALL 15S18 WAS PERFORMED ON CAR 08/01/16. FOURTEEN MONTHS AFTER RECALL, WHILE DRIVING 40-45 MPH ON IH-635 IN SOMEWHAT HEAVY TRAFFIC, I NOTICED A DIFFERENCE IN THE CAR'S HANDLING. THE ADVANCE TRAC WAS ILLUMINATED IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. ATTEMPTED TO TURN IT OFF BECAUSE I THOUGHT I HAD TURNED IT ON BY MISTAKE WHEN I TURNED ON THE AC. I DECIDED TO MOVE OVER 6 LANES OF TRAFFIC AND EXIT OFF THE HIGHWAY. ONCE ON THE SERVICE ROAD, THE STEERING BECAME DIFFICULT TO MANEUVER. FORTUNATELY THERE WAS A DISCOUNT STORE & WAREHOUSE SHOPPING CENTER AND UPON MAKING TWO DIFFICULT RIGHT TURNS INTO THE PARKING LOT THE STEERING PROBLEM PROCEEDED TO GET WORSE. TURNING INTO THE PARKING SPACE WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. I TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, DID A WALK AROUND THE CAR TO INSURE THERE WERE NO FLAT TIRES OR DEBRIS STUCK UNDER THE CAR. I RETURNED TO THE CAR TO CALL MY HUSBAND AND TURNED THE KEY IN THE IGNITION TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW, (DID NOT START MOTOR) AND THE STEERING WHEEL WAS EASY TO MOVE, NOT NORMAL BUT MANAGEABLE. AFTER A SEVERAL MINUTES, I TURNED ON THE CAR AND SLOWLY DROVE APPROXIMATELY 4 MILES TO REACH HOME ON THE HIGHWAY SERVICE ROAD (IN CASE IT OCCURRED AGAIN) UNTIL I REACHED MY NORMAL EXIT. IT WAS WITHOUT DOUBT A WHITE KNUCKLED DRIVE HOME. THE CAR HAS BEEN SITTING IN THE GARAGE FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS, I HAVE BEEN USING MY HUSBAND'S TRUCK BECAUSE I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE MY CAR, UNTIL I CAN GET IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO BE CHECKED. I'M LOOKING INTO HAVING IT TOWED OR HAULING ON A CAR DOLLY. I DO NOT CARE TO IMAGINE HOW I OR THE CAR MIGHT HAVE REACTED IF TRAFFIC WAS AT A NORMAL SPEED LIMIT OR IF I HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET OFF THE BUSY INTERSTATE. *TR
AT LEAST THREE TIMES ON SEPARATE OCCASIONS, ABS WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND ENGAGED SUDDENLY WHILE THERE WAS A LOSS OF BRAKING POWER. BRAKES WERE SPONGY AND COULD BARELY STOP THE CAR. TROUBLE CODES C00002 C0022, C1012, U0415 AND U30000 CODES SHOWED. MY MECHANICS CHECKED MY MECHANICAL BRAKE SYSTEMS AND ALL WERE FINE AND FOUND NO PROBLEM. MY MECHANIC THINKS A COMPUTER PROBLEM IS THE ISSUE. I TOOK CAR TO LOCAL FORD DEALER AND THEY FOUND NO BRAKING PROBLEM.
WHILE ATTEMPTING TO OPEN DRIVER DOOR TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, DOOR LATCH MECHANISM INSIDE OF DOOR BROKE CAUSING LATCH TO BECOME INOPERABLE THUS CAUSING ME TO ROLL DOWN THE WINDOW AND EXIT THE VEHICLE FROM THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, IN PARK, IN MY HOME DRIVEWAY. UNLESS I ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN AND OPEN THE DOOR USING THE REAR LATCH, I CANNOT EXIT THE VEHICLE. IN A CRASH SITUATION, OR A SITUATION IN WHICH THE WINDOW IS ICED UP AND CANNOT LOWER, EXITING THE VEHICLE COULD BE IMPOSSIBLE AND DANGEROUS. WHEN I REPORTED IT TO MY LOCAL SERVICE TECH, HE STATED THAT IT WAS A COMMON ISSUE.
PURCHASED CAR 8/01/15. FOUND OUT ABOUT(PENDING) RECALL AFTER THE FACT. READOUT ON DASH READ RE-PROGRAM STEERING. TOOK CAR BACK, RE-PROGRAMED N/C. 3-DAYS LATER DISPLAY MESSAGE READ, SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW. NEXT DAY BACKED OUT OF GARAGE BUT HAD NO STEERING TOWED TO DEALERSHIP COST ME $115./REPAIR N/C. TWO WEEKS LATER MESSAGE READ SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW. SHUT CAR OFF, THEN STARTED BAM NO STEERING. CALLED TOW TRUCK TAKE BACK TO DEALERSHIP $115. PLUS $1145.67. 03/15/16. NOW SITTING GARAGE CANNOT DRIVE. MESSAGE READS SERVICE POWER STEERING NOW. RIGHT NOW WE SIMPLY CAN'T AFFORD TO HAVE THE CAR FIXED. RECALL #15S18 LAST FAILURE DATE 10/13/16 A.M.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2011 FORD FUSION. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY, THE BLOWER MOTOR RESISTER MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WIRES ASSOCIATED WITH THE COMPONENT MELTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,295.
THE PURGE CANISTER VALVE HAS BEEN REPLACED, BUT THE FUEL SMELL STILL REMAINS WHILE IT IS STATIONARY AND RUNNING.
CSP 13N03 AS PREVIOUSLY REPORTED ETB PROBLEMS CAUSED MY CAR TO ABRUPTLY DROP POWER/RPM TO ~1000RPM. LATER IDENTIFIED ISSUE TO BE RELATED TO ETB AND TOOK TO MY FORD DEALER EXPECTING NEW SOFTWARE AND/OR ETB REPLACEMENT PER 13N03. DEALER REPLACED BUT THEN BEGGED OFF REQUESTING I PAY WARRANTY REPAIR COST OF $122 BECAUSE "MANUAL TRANSMISSION" VEHICLES AND THOSE NOT ASSEMBLED IN MEXICO WERE NOT COVERED. I AM ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THAT MY ISSUE WAS EXACTLY THAT COVERED BY 13N03 AND FEEL THAT HAVING THE POWER LOSS "LIMP MODE" OCCUR IN A MANUAL TRANSMISSION VEHICLE ACTUALLY PUT ME AT MORE RISK BECAUSE OF THE GREATER SPEED LOSS DUE TO THE DIRECT CONNECTED DRIVE PATH. LUCKILY IT WAS LATE AT NIGHT ON A LESS TRAVELED ROAD ALLOWING ME TO COAST OFF SAFELY ONTO THE SHOULDER. I PAID THE $122 SINCE THEY HAD ALREADY DONE THE WORK BEFORE REALIZING THAT MY CAR WAS NOT COVERED, AND THE THROTTLE BODY ALONE WOULD HAVE COST ME $75+, BUT I CANNOT UNDERSTAND HOW THIS IS NOT A FULL-FLEDGED RECALL AND DOESN'T COVER EVERY VEHICLE WITH THIS TYPE OF ETB? ALL THIS BECAUSE OF WHAT SOUNDS LIKE INCORRECT/INSUFFICIENT MOTOR CONNECTION PLATING AND/OR BULB GREASE (CONTACT ENHANCER)

CLASSIC FORD OF MADISON (6251 N RIDGE RD, MADISON, OH 44057, 1-(440) 417-1100) DIAGNOSED THAT THE TWO FRONT CONTROL ARMS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALSO TAKEN TO AVENUE AUTO CLINIC (1170 MENTOR AVE, PAINESVILLE, OH 44077, 1-(440) 639-9956) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC COMPUTER AND THE ELECTRONIC STEERING MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING) AND WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA ACTION NUMBER: PE14030 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. *TT*JB
LOST POWER AFTER MOMENTARY STUMBLE WHILE MILDLY ACCELERATING ON STRAIGHT LEVEL CITY ROAD AROUND 35MPH. DAMP COOL EVENING AFTER MUCH RAIN PRECEDING DAYS. OCCURRED ABOUT 2 MILES AFTER STARTING FROM COOL ENGINE (2-3 HOURS @ 60F) THOUGHT IT HAD STALLED BUT NOTED ~1000RPM, BUT NOT RESPONDING TO THROTTLE PEDAL AT ALL? TURNED CAR OFF, REMOVED KEY, OPENED DOOR (TO KILL ACCESSORY POWER). CLOSED DOOR, COUNTED TO 20 AND RESTARTED. IT STARTED A BIT HARD AND STUMBLED A LITTLE INITIALLY, BUT THE WRENCH WAS GONE AND I HAD A WORKING THROTTLE AGAIN. IT SEEMED LIKE IT MAY HAVE MINIMALLY STUMBLED A BIT ON THE 2-3 MILES HOME AS WELL, ALTHOUGH I WAS DRIVING IT VERY GENTLY, AND POSSIBLY OVERLY AWARE. TRAVELED LIGHTLY USED ROADS IN CASE IT ACTED UP AGAIN. ONCE HOME I WENT IN, GRABBED MY OBD-II TEST DEVICE AND HOOKED IT UP. NO CODES? NO MIL CODES, NO PENDING CODES, NO PERMANENT CODES? WENT IN AND BEGAN WEB SEARCH AND FOUND FORD ETB AND CSP=13N03 INVESTIGATION AND MITIGATION AGREEMENT. WROTE THIS, AND WILL DISCUSS WITH DEALER TOMORROW.
IN THE LAST 24 HOURS MY VEHICLE STALLED ON THE FREEWAY (I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED--THIS HIGHWAY HAS A CURB ON BOTH SIDES INSTEAD OF SHOULDERS) 4 TIMES IN 5 MILES. THE FIRST TIME WAS AS I WAS TURNING ONTO THE HIGHWAY FROM AN INTERSECTION. EACH TIME, I WAS UNABLE TO ACCELERATE THE CAR WITH THE GAS PEDAL. EACH TIME, THIS WAS PRECEDED BY A LURCHING FORWARD AND A SLUGGISH PERFORMANCE OF THE ENGINE FOR ABOUT 1 SECOND BEFORE THE ENGINE NO LONGER POWERS THE WHEELS. THE WRENCH LIGHT COMES ON AND I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN TURN IT BACK ON IN ORDER TO BE ABLE TO ACCELERATE AGAIN. AS I SAID, WHEN I WOULD ACCELERATE, THE ENGINE WOULD DIE, AND THIS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES. WHEN I RESTART THE CAR, BUT BEFORE IT DIES AGAIN, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH OTHER 2011 FORD FUSIONS THAT THE NHTSA HAS ALREADY INVESTIGATED--THE THROTTLE BODY IS DEFECTIVE. HOWEVER, SOMEHOW THE NHTSA LET FORD OFF THE HOOK AND DIDN'T RECALL THE PART AND ALLOWED FORD TO ONLY APPLY THE "CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM 13N03" TO CARS WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. I HAVE A MANUAL TRANSMISSION CAR. I WILL TELL YOU THAT EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED IN CARS THAT INITIATED THE INVESTIGATION AND THIS PROGRAM IS EXACTLY WHAT IS HAPPENING IN MY CAR. THE INVESTIGATION NEEDS TO BE REOPENED AND THIS THROTTLE BODY NEEDS TO BE RECALLED FOR ALL TRANSMISSION TYPES. I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED BY A CAR GOING 55 MPH, EVEN THOUGH I HAD MY 4-WAY FLASHERS ON IN THE RIGHT LANE, BECAUSE THE HIGHWAY MY CAR DIED ON A DOES NOT HAVE SHOULDERS. THIS DEFECTIVE PART IS AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD AND NEEDS TO BE RECALLED!!

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RACK AND PINION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE CONTACT WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR COST SINCE THERE WERE NO RECALLS RELATING TO THE POWER STEERING FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 94,286. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

THE DEALER REPAIRED THE VEHICLE WITHOUT THE CONTACTS APPROVAL AND THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN IF THE VEHICLE MAY BE RELEASED UNTIL THE REPAIR CONCERNS HAD BEEN ADDRESSED WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACTURER REFUSED TO SERVICE THE VEHICLE AND INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EXCLUDED FROM THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.

I CANT AFFORD TO BUY A NEW ONE ITS STILL UNDER CONTRACT. I RECENTLY GOT A LETTER THAT TAKATA IS GOING TO FILE BANKRUPTCY.

THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR LATCH DOES NOT WORK. I HAVE TO EITHER ROLL THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW DOWN AND OPEN DOOR FROM OUTSIDE OR CLIMB OUT ON PASSENGER SIDE. ALSO I HAVE TO MANUALLY OPEN (WITH KEY) OR LOCK FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR.

I WAS PULLING UP SLOWLY BEHIND TWO CARS AT A RED LIGHT WHEN MY ENGINE ACCELERATED WITH MY FOOT FIRMLY ON THE BRAKE. MY CAR BEGAN TO INCH FORWARD TOWARD THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. I PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND THE ACCELERATION CONTINUED. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND ONCE AGAIN THE ACCELERATION CONTINUED. I THEN TURNED THE KEY OFF AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN WITH MY CAR ENDING UP A FOOT AWAY FROM A CAR WITH A WOMAN AND TWO CHILDREN IN IT. I WENT ONLINE AND FOUND OTHER CASES OF THIS HAPPENING TO OTHER PEOPLE WITH 2011 FORD FUSIONS. I TOOK THE CAR TO MY DEALER AND THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME WITH THIS CAR. I WAS ON A BUSY FOUR LANE HIGHWAY BOTH TIMES.
FAULTY STEERING LIGHT CAME ON SEVERAL TIMES AND THEN TURN OFF WHILE DRIVING.... AND TODAY 09/01/2016 THE STEERING COLUMN LOCKED UP AND UNABLE TO USE EVEN IF THE CAR IS TURNED OFF AND ON. THE CAR WAS IN REVERSE WHEN IT LOCKED.

I'VE BEEN TRYING TO HAVE THIS RECALL FIXED SINCE THE RECALL CAME OUT IN 2016; HOWEVER, ALL OF THE DEALERSHIPS IN/AROUND LAFAYETTE, LA (WITHIN 30 MILES) SAY THAT THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX THIS ON THESE RECALLS YET.
I ENTERED MY VIN NUMBER KNOWING MY CAR HAS THE TAKATA RECALL BUT WANTING IT FIXED SOMETIME BEFORE "THE FUTURE", AND I FOUND THAT MY CAR HAD A POWER STEERING RECALL FROM 2015 THAT I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF.
DRIVING ALONG ON A BUSY STREET AND A SERVICE POWER STEERING SOON APPEARED AND AFTER MAKING A LEFT TURN THE STEERING STOPPED I IMMEDIATELY PULLED OVER AS I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE IT HAD TO GET CAR TOWED. WAS NOT ON A HIGHWAY WAS DRIVING ALONG ABOUT 40MPH.
THE POWER STEERING KEEPS FAILING WHILE DRIVING. WE GET A POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT CAR IS VERY HARD TO STEER AND CONTROL. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.
I PARKED MY VEHICLE AND WENT TO OPEN MY DOORS AND THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES DOERS WOULD NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE. I HAD TO PROCEED TO UNLOCK THE DOOR MANUALLY AND ROLL THE WINDOW DOWN, PLACE MY ARM OUT THE WINDOW TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE PASSENGER HAD TO DO THE SAME FOR THEIR DOOR AS WELL. WE ARE BOTH SENIOR CITIZENS WITH DISABILITIES. ARE THERE ANY RECALLS ON THIS ISSUE? I'M CONCERNED FOR THE SAFETY AND WELL BEING OF ME AND ANY PASSENGERS THAT HAPPEN TO BE IN THE VEHICLE IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT WHERE AS I HAVE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY.
