I PARKED THE VEHICLE AT THE GROCERY STORE, YESTERDAY (7-10-2016) AND COULD NOT OPEN MY DOOR TO GET OUT. THE DOOR HANDLE ON THE DRIVER'S DOOR STOPPED OPERATING. IT DOES NOT ALLOW ME TO EXIT THE VEHICLE WITHOUT ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOW AND OPENING THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE IN CASE OF FIRE OR THE NEED TO QUICKLY EXIT THE VEHICLE. I HAD A DOOR HANDLE ISSUE WITH MY PREVIOUS CAR, 2009 FORD FOCUS, ONLY YOU COULD NOT GET INTO THE CAR USING THE OUTSIDE DRIVER'S SIDE HANDLE. I ALSO LOOKED AT THE NUMBER OF OTHER FORD FUSION CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE AND IT SEEMS TO BE A STANDARD DOOR ISSUE. HOW MANY COMPLAINTS DOES A VEHICLE HAVE TO HAVE BEFORE A RECALL IS CREATED?

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THERE HAS BEEN 4 TIMES MY STEERING WHEEL BECOMES VERY HARD FOR ME TO TURN. IT HAS HAPPENED ONCE WHILE DRIVING AND 3 TIMES AFTER PARKING AND STARTING MY CAR IT HAPPENS. I GET THE MESSAGE OF POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT.
TAKATA RECALL TWO MONTHS AGO, I RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE INDICATING INFLATION OF THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG COULD CAUSE SEVERE INJURY OR DEATH. NEITHER FORD NOR NHTSA HAVE ACTED IN A RESPONSIBLE MANNER IN THAT FORD IS STILL WAITING FOR PARTS AND CANNOT ESTIMATE WHEN PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. CONSIDERING INFLATION CAN CAUSE "SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH", THERE IS NO HONEST GUIDANCE BY EITHER FORD NOR NHTSA OTHER THAN KEEP DRIVING. I INTEND TO COPY THIS TO MY TWO SENATORS AND MY HOUSE REPRESENTATIVE.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN MY FORD FUSION LOST ALL POWER, LIKE IT RAN OUT OF GAS. OF COURSE THIS HAPPENED WHEN I WAS PASSING 2 SEMIS WITH CARS IN FRONT OF ME AND BEHIND ME. LUCKILY I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. IT JUST SAT THERE IDLING VERY BADLY, I TURNED IT OFF, TURNED IT BACK ON AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE IT HOME AFTER THAT. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH ONLINE, THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED BECAUSE IT COULD DEFINITELY CAUSE A PRETTY BAD ACCIDENT.
I WENT TO TURN THE CAR ON ONE DAY AND THE MESSAGE "POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT" APPEARED. THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN AND THE POWER STEERING WAS INOPERABLE. IT CONTINUES TO DO THIS EVERY TIME THE CAR IS TURNED ON. I TOOK IT TO A FORD DEALERSHIP BECAUSE I FOUND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE IN THE POWER STEERING SYSTEM ON THE 2011 FORD FUSIONS. I WAS TOLD THAT MY VIN WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. I HAVE SEEN MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS SIMILAR TO MINE ON MESSAGE BOARDS FOR CAR TROUBLE.
TAKATA AIR BAGS HAVE BEEN WAITING SINCE FIRST RECALL JULY 2016 FOR THEM TO FIX AIRBAGS NOT ABLE TO LET ANYONE SIT IN FRONT SEAT, HAVE CALLED FORD DEALERS SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO RESPONSE OTHER THAN WE HAVE NO REPLACEMENTS, ITS BEEN TWO YEARS AND NOTHING
TAKATA RECALL. I WAS UNABLE TO OPEN DRIVER'S DOOR FROM THE INSIDE. TOOK IT TO MY FORD DEALER. THEY FOUND A BROKEN INNER DOOR HANDLE. I WAS PARKED WHEN THAT HAPPENED. IT COST ME $217.83 TO GET IT REPAIRED. ISN'T THIS A RECALL? IF NOT, IT SHOULD BE!
CHECK POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD/SUBDIVISION AND POWER STEERING WENT OUT, MAKING THE CAR VERY HARD TO STEER. WE STARTED/STOPPED THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES TO GET THE LIGHT TO SHUT OFF. WE WERE FORTUNATE THAT WE WERE NOT GOING THAT FAST OR BEEN ON THE FREEWAY WHERE AN ACCIDENT COULD HAVE OCCURRED. THERE WAS NO WARNING FOR THE POWER STEERING TO JUST CUT OUT COMPLETELY AND WE HAD NO ISSUES UP TO THE TIME THE LIGHT CAME ON. WE TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE REPAIR WOULD RUN $1,800. THE SAME CAR MADE IN THE SAME PLANT WITH THE SAME ISSUES WAS PART OF A RECALL, BUT UNFORTUNATELY OUT VEHICLE WAS MADE SEVERAL WEEKS BEFORE THE RECALL PERIOD. FORD REFUSED TO COVER EVEN PART OF THE REPAIR EVEN THOUGH THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THAT THE SAME PROBLEM WAS COVERED FOR OTHER VEHICLES.
TAKATA RECAL NO POSITIVE RESPOND FROM THE DEALER WHEN THIS PROBLEM CAN BE FIXED I HAVE BEEN TOLD SEVERAL TIMES THE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE YET. ANY IDEA WHAT TIME FRAME
TAKATA RECALL - I'VE BEEN TRYING SINCE JULY 2016 TO GET THE PASSENGER AIRBAG REPLACED, BUT THE DEALERS SAY THEY ARE UNABLE TO GET A REPLACEMENT AIRBAG. THE DATE I'M ENTERING BELOW IS THE APPROXIMATE DATE I RECEIVED THE LETTER FROM FORD ADVISING OF THE RECALL.

THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED UNDER THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V340000 (STEERING) BUT THE REMEDY FAILED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AFTER THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,792.

TAKATA RECALL... RECEIVED MY RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD ON JULY, 2016. THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE PARTS AND HAVE NOT OFFERED ANY OPTIONS. I AM AFRAID MY PASSENGER WILL DIE, OR THAT I WILL DIE IF A METAL FRAGMENT HITS ME. IF I DISCONNECT THE SEAT BELT, THEN MY PASSENGER MAY DIE AS WELL.

"TAKATA RECALL" RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE DATED JULY 2016 FROM AUTO COMPANY. CALLED DEALERSHIP, MORE THAN ONCE, PARTS WERE NOT RECEIVED BY THEM. RECEIVED LEGAL NOTICE ABOUT CHAPTER 11 BEING FILED OCTOBER 23, 2017. CALLED DEALERSHIP AGAIN, PARTS ARE STILL NOT IN AND WAS ADVISED ABOUT THE CHAPTER 11 FILING. NOTING HAS HAPPENED WITH MY VEHICLE.
TAKATA RECALL: I RECEIVED A NOTICE IN THE MAIL FROM FORD; THE LETTER INFORMED ME ABOUT THE RECALL. I CALLED MY LOCAL FORD DEALER TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT TO REPLACE THE INFLATOR. THEY SAID THAT THERE WAS A RECALL AND THAT THERE WAS NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE. THEY SAID I WOULD RECEIVE A PHONE CALL TO SET UP THE APPOINTMENT TO REPLACE IT. IT HAS BEEN A YEAR AND FOUR MONTHS BUT I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT INFLATOR.
MY CAR HAS BEEN UNDER RECALL FOR TAKATA PASSENGER AIRBAG EXPLOSION RISKS FOR OVER 15 MONTHS AND THERE IS STILL NO TIMELINE FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS. WHEN WILL FORD MAKE MY VEHICLE SAFE TO DRIVE AGAIN?
TAKATA RECALL. AS OF TODAY FORD HAS NOT SCHEDULED A FIX FOR THE RECALL. NO DATE HAS BEEN GIVEN.
TAKATA RECALL THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON MY AIRBAGS FOR A YEAR AND A HALF. FORD STILL HAS NOT GIVEN NEW AIRBAGS OR MATERIALS TO THE DEALERSHIPS TO BE ABLE TO FIX THIS ISSUE. THESE AIRBAGS ARE AN EXTREME SAFETY HAZARD, SO I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY IT WOULD TAKE THIS LONG FOR FORD TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I FEEL LIKE IT'S JUST A DEATH WISH WAITING TO HAPPEN.

TAKATA RECALL. IT HAS NOW BEEN MORE THAN 18 MONTHS SINCE I RECEIVED THE FIRST NOTIFICATION OF THIS RECALL. I FREQUENTLY HAVE 5 PEOPLE WHO NEED TO TRAVEL IN THIS VEHICLE, SO NOT USING THE PASSENGER SEAT IS NOT AN OPTION. FORD NEEDS TO INSTALL THE NEW AIRBAGS, BUY BACK ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES, OR PAY FOR CAR RENTALS WHEN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT IS REQUIRED.

IN A LETTER FROM DECEMBER 2017, FORD STATES THAT NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO SIT IN THE FIRST ROW PASSENGER SEAT. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHY A REMEDY IS TAKING SO LONG AND WHEN I CAN EXPECT THIS REPAIR. THIS SITUATION NEEDS A SOLUTION PROMPTLY. HAVE CONTACTED FORD ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND THEY HAVE NOT TAKEN CARE OF MY RECALL. SAYING THAT I SHOULD JUST NOT LET ANYONE RIDE IN THE FRONT SEAT OF MY CAR INDEFINITELY.

THE ELECTRONIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM HAS FAILED LEAVING THE VEHICLE VERY DIFFICULT TO STEER AND DRIVE MAKING FOR A VERY UNSAFE OPERATING CONDITION.. THIS PARTICULAR CAR IS USED ON A VERY LIMITED BASIS AND HAS LS THAN 24,000 ORIGINAL MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THE PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED TWICE IN A ONE YEAR TIME PERIOD. THIS FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS PROCEEDED BY THE VERY STRANGE CONDITION OF ALL THE WINDOWS AND SUN ROOF OPENED RANDOMLY WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED AND NOT RUNNING INSIDE THE GARAGE.THE BATTERY WAS THEN DISCONNECTED AND THAT ACTION SEEMED TO RESET THE SYSTEM. THE SECOND OCCURRENCE SEEMS TO BE A COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE ELECTRONIC STEERING SYSTEM, WITH NO EFFECT ON THE POWER WINDOWS AND SUN ROOF.
WHILE DRIVING CAR SUDDENLY LOST POWER STEERING. MESSAGE CENTER SHOWED POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT. SPEED WAS APROX. 20M/H I HIT A CURB AND STOP. AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR MESSAGE DISAPPEARED AND POWER STEERING STARTED WORKING AGAIN. CAR WAS TAKEN TO DEALER. REPAIR COST 1800 DOL.

PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V793000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE) AND PASSED. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS INSPECTED AGAIN; HOWEVER, THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A FUEL FILLER TUBE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO ANOTHER DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE CANISTER PURGE VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,286.

REPLACED BOTH LOWER CONTROL ARMS IN STEERING. HEARD RUBBING AND GRINDING NOISE. REPORTED IN THE FALL AND TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG. WENT IN A FEW MONTHS LATER AND WAS TOLD THE CONTROL ARMS BENT AND BROKE. COULD NOT EXPLAIN HOW THIS HAPPENED. I DRIVE MINIMALLY AS I WORK FROM HOME. NOISE WAS WORSE AFTER CAR WARMED UP.
