THE RACK AND PINION ON MY 2013 FORD FUSION HAS GONE OUT WITH 53,000 MILES ON MY CAR THROUGH NO USER FAULT. I FIRST NOTICED THE NOISES WHEN TURNING THE CAR ON AND PULLING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT. WITHOUT WARNING THE STEARING STARTED MAKING GRINDING NOISES (LIKE WHAT A CAR MAKES WHEN THE POWER STEARING IS GOING OUT) AND WOULD THE WHEEL WOULD PERIODICALLY CATCH (THIS IS WITHIN TWO DAYS OF THE NOISES STARTING) WHEN I WOULD TURN. OTHER THAN THESE SYMPTOMS THERE ARE NO OTHER SIGNS OF STEERING FAILURE. I COULD HAVE BEEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND LOCKED UP WITHOUT NOTICE. FORD HAD A RECALL ON THE RACK AND PINION ON MY MODEL, BUT WHEN THE DEALERSHIP RAN MY VIN, IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AS THE PARTS MUST HAVE MANUFACTURED AT ANOTHER FACTOR. CONSIDERING THE LOW MILEAGE ON MY CAR AND MAINTENCE ROUTINELY PERFORMED THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THROUGH RESEARCH I HAVE SEEN THIS HAPPEN ON MULTIPLE FORD FUSIONS ON 2011+. THANKFULLY MINE DID NOT FAIL WHILE ON THE ROAD LIKE OTHERS. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND FORD NEEDS TO MAKE THIS RIGHT. A MECHANIC WAS THANKFULLY ABLE TO LOCATE THE ISSUE BEFORE I GOT INTO A SERIOUS ACCIDENT DUE TO STEERING FAILURE.
CAR STALLS WHEN DRIVING OR AT IDLE
I HAVE HAD REPEATED PROBLEMS WITH THIS VEHICLE, AND NOW IT IS ON MY CREDIT RECORD BECAUSE IT IS BEYOND REPAIR, AND I RETURNED IT TO THE FINANCE COMPANY WHERE I PURCHASED IT FROM. I HAD TO REPLACE THE LUG NUTS BECAUSE THE FACTORY LUG WRENCH WOULDN'T WORK, THE ENGINE RAN HOT (REGULARLY) LEADING TO LONG TERM ENGINE DAMAGE, THE TRANSMISSION HAD BEEN REPLACED TWICE SINCE I BEGAN FINANCING THE CAR. THE CAR ONLY HAD 64K MILES WHEN I BEGAN FINANCING IT, BY 77K, THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE (FIRST TIME IN DEC.18, AND THEN JAN.19), AND IT STILL SHIFTED HARD (AT TIMES) AND STILL MADE A STRANGE SOUND. I AM INVOLVED IN A CLASS ACTION SUIT OVER THE TRANSMISSION, BUT THE REPAIRS WERE AFTERMARKET (AND MEDIA INDICATES THAT EVEN THE MANUFACTURER IS NOT CAPABLE OF FIXING THE PROBLEM) IN APPROXIMATELY THE MONTH OF MAY, 2019, THE VEHICLE ALSO WOULD NOT START (KEY WOULD NOT TURN/NO LIGHTS CAME ON, ETC.). I CONTACTED THE CARMAKER, AND THEY HAD STATED THAT THEY'D "NEVER HEARD OF THIS KIND OF ISSUE BEFORE", BUT THEY DID OFFER TO PURCHASE THE VEHICLE BACK FROM ME (AT MARKET VALUE), BUT THEY BECAME DISINTERESTED WHEN I TOLD THEM THAT I WAS FINANCING THE VEHICLE FROM ELSEWHERE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR OPENED AND CAUSED THE FRONT PASSENGER TO FALL OUT OF THE VEHICLE. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE DOOR AJAR INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AFTER THE INCIDENT. THE FAILURE OCCURRED MORE THAN ONCE. THE CONTACT CALLED LICCARDI FORD AT 908-561-7500 (LOCATED AT 1615 US-22, WATCHUNG, NJ 07069) AND WAS INFORMED TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO THEM FOR AN OVERNIGHT OBSERVATION. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WERE NO OPEN RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 113,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHEN THE CONTACT PULLED INTO THE PARKING LOT AT HER JOB, THE VEHICLE STARTED SMOKING. THE VEHICLE CAUGHT FIRE UNDER THE HOOD AND EXPLODED WITH PARTS LANDING INTO THE STREET AND ONTO OTHER PARKED VEHICLES. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE POLICE DEPARTMENT STATED THAT THE CONTACT COULD RETRIEVE THE INCIDENT REPORT AFTER CHRISTMAS. THE BURNED OUT VEHICLE PLANNED TO BE TOWED AWAY BY THE CONTACT'S FINANCE COMPANY. THE DEALER WAS NOT CALLED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED UNDER A WARRANTY SINCE IT HAD OVER 56,000 MILES. THE MANUFACTURER SUGGESTED THE CONTACT CHECK WITH HER INSURANCE COMPANY. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000.
VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED SUMMER OF 2018 FOR DOOR LATCH RECALL. ALL DOOR LATCHES WERE REPLACED PER THE RECALL. PRIOR TO THE RECALL REPAIR THE RIGHT REAR LATCH FAILED. ON 12/18/18 THE RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER LATCH FAILED ALLOWING THE DOOR TO OPEN WITH THE INABILITY TO CLOSE. DEALER REPLACED THIS LATCH UNDER WARRANTY ON 12/20/18. RECALL DIDN'T WORK. LATCHES ARE STILL FAILING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. AFTER THE CONTACT PLACED THE VEHICLE IN PARK, IT BEGAN TO ROLL FORWARD AND THE GEAR BECAME STUCK AND WOULD NOT MOVE AT ALL. THE CONTACT HAD TO PLACE A HAIR PIN IN THE GEAR SHIFTER AND BUSHING IN AN ATTEMPT TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP AND THE EMERGENCY BRAKE HAD TO BE APPLIED. THE BUSHING HAD ALSO RUSTED. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED LAKELAND AUTO MALL (1430 W MEMORIAL BLVD, LAKELAND, FL 33815, (863) 682-1100), BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 106,000.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD TODAY AND THE PASSENGER DOOR FLEW OPEN. I ASKED ABOUT A RECALL LAST MONTH BECAUSE THE DOOR STOP CATCHING AND THE FORD DEALERSHIP TOLD ME I DIDN'T HAVE THE RECALL FOR THE DOOR LATCH UNDER MY VIN #. DOOR FLEW OPEN ON THE STREET AS I WAS MAKING A TURN ON MY WAY TO WORK. LUCKILY I WAS CLOSE TO MY JOB SO I JUST DROVE A FEW BLOCKS WITH MY HAND HOLDING THE PASSENGER DOOR SHUT.
TURNED ON CAR AND PUT INTO DRIVE THEN SEVERAL WARNINGS CAME ON AND I LOST CONTROL OF STEERING.
ON 12/15/2018 I WENT TO REVERSE OUT OF MY GARAGE ONCE I WAS OUT I PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE AND STEPPED ON THE GAS ONLY TO HAVE MY CAR CONTINUE TO GO IN REVERSE. I HIT THE BRAKES AND PUT THE CAR IN PARK. I TRIED MOVING THE SHIFTER TO OTHER GEARS AND YOU COULD TELL THE SHIFTER WAS LOOSE, IT WAS NOT ENGAGING IN ANY GEAR OTHER THAN PARK. I HAD MY CAR TOWED AND THE REPAIR PLACE TOLD ME THAT THE SHIFTER CABLE WAS BROKEN. SINCE THIS HAPPENED OVER THE WEEKEND I HAD TIME TO GOOGLE THIS ISSUE AND FIND THAT THERE WAS A RECALL BUT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT A PART OF THAT. ITS A SHAME THAT THIS RECALL DOESN'T COUNT FOR MORE VEHICLES. ITS A COMPLETE DEFECT ON FORDS PART AND ITS NOT A CHEAP REPAIR.
STEERING ALL OF A SUDDEN BECAME SUPER STIFF, MANY WARNING LIGHTS LITE. ALMOST CAUSED CRASH INTO PARKED CAR, LUCKY WAS AT SLOW SPEED 10 MPH. NOTE OTHER RECALLS FOR SAME ISSUE FORD SAID THIS VIN IS NOT COVERED BUT ISSUES ARE THE SAME AS OTHERS IN THE RECALL. CAR IS AT DEALERSHIP TO BE FIXED ROOT CAUSE RACK & PINON ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT. SMELL OF GASOLINE, BOTH WHEN IN MOTION AND STATIONARY. GETS WORSE WHEN FILL THE TANK WITH GAS. THE SMELL IMPROVES WHEN I SET THE CABIN AIR TO RECYCLE.
VEHICLE STEERING WHEEL LOST ASSIST FUNCTION AND BECAME EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STEER. THERE WAS NO ERROR MESSAGE OR CODE. TURNED OFF IGNITION AND RESTARTED STEERING BEGAN WORKING AGAIN. DROVE REMAINDER OF THE DAY WITHOUT ISSUE. PARKED CAR FOR EVENING. THE NEXT DAY STARTED CAR AND STEERING FELT LOCKED. PUT CAR IN REVERSE STEERING G WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN. APPLIED BRAKES FIRMLY... FOUND STEERING WOULD TURN BUT WITH GREAT EFFORT. NO VISIBLE WARNINGS ON DASH. TURNED OFF CAR. RESTARTED CAR...GREEN GO LIGHT ON, NO WARNINGS STEERING STILL VERY DIFFICULT. PLACED CAR IN DRIVE ROLLED FORWARD A FEW FEET AND APPLIED BRAKES FIRMLY. STEERING BECAME NORMAL. DROVE CAR TO DEALER IN AUGUST 2018 AND EXPLAINED SITUATION. DEALER PERFORMED DIAGNOSTICS AND FOUND NO STEERING OR DRIVE RELATED CODES. CLEARED CODES AND SAID TO BRING IT BACK IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN. 4 MONTHS LATER (DEC) CAR REPEATED STEERING FAILURE UPON STARTUP WITHOUT ANY CODE OR ALARM. CYCLED IGNITION SEVERAL TIMES AND STEERING BECAME NORMAL. ON DEC 14, 2018 WHILE DRIVING RECEIVED VISUAL NOTIFICATION OF "STEERING FAULT SERVICE NOW". NO APPARENT ISSUES WITH STEERING SO DROVE HOME. ON DEC 15, I STARTED CAR AND RECEIVED VISUAL MESSAGE " STEERING LOSS STOP SAFELY" AND STEERING WAS AGAIN VERY DIFFICULT. TOOK CAR TO DEALER ON DEC 17. DEALER NOTIFIED ME THAT STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. $2300+. I FEEL THERE IS A DANGEROUS DEFECT IN THE STEERING MODULE AND MORE PEOPLE WILL HAVE ISSUES. THE LACK OF DIAGNOSIS BY THE VEHICLE SENSORS OF AN ISSUE AND THE DEALERS INABILITY TO VERIFY THE FAULTS I EXPERIENCED MAKES THIS CAR UNSAFE IN MY OPINION. PLEASE LOOK INTO THIS. I AM JUST LUCKY I WAS NOT DRIVING WHEN IT FAILED COMPLETELY.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND, WHILE PARKED AT A STOPLIGHT, NOTICED SMOKE BILLOWING OUT FROM UNDERNEATH MY HOOD. I PULLED OVER AND HAD MY CAR TOWED TO A MECHANIC. MY MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH FLUIDS LEAKING FROM MY ENGINE AND THAT IT WAS HIGHLY DANGEROUS, ROUTINELY RESULTING IN FIRES. MY MECHANIC DIRECTED ME TO A RECALL 12S41 THAT COVERS 2013 FORD FUSIONS AND SAID IT WAS A MATCH. HOWEVER, FORD HAS DENIED MY CLAIM CITING MY CAR WASN'T COVERED WITH THE RECALL. MY CAR ALMOST CAUGHT FIRE (MY MECHANIC THINKS IT MIGHT HAVE BRIEFLY IGNITED) AND I WOULD LIKE THE PROBLEM FIXED BY FORD UNDER THIS RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED AFTER THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED AT A FUEL STATION. THE POWER STEERING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT'S SPOUSE DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TOWN AND COUNTRY FORD (5401 E INDEPENDENCE BLVD, CHARLOTTE, NC 28212, (704) 557-0596) TO BE DIAGNOSED. THE DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS WERE UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,500.
MY POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT FLASHES AND FORD TELLS ME THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. I SAW A RECALL FOR THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING DUE TO SALT CORROSION ON THE 2013 BUT THEY ARE TELLING ME MINE WASN'T ONE OF THEM. WHY ISN'T MY VEHICLE ON THE RECALL LIST SINCE I LIVE IN NEW JERSEY WITH HARSH WINTERS. THIS SEEMS UNFAIR SINCE IT SEEMS TO BE THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALL. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE BEFORE SOMEONE DIES IN A CRASH DUE TO LOSS OF STEERING WHICH US A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM THIS THIS YEAR AND MAKE. PLEASE HELP!!! THE MESSAGE FLASHES ACROSS THE SCREEN A COUPLE OF MINUTES AFTER STARTING CAR THEN DISAPPEARS AND EVERYTHING SEEMS FINE?? THERE IS 76,000 MILES ON THE CAR. THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN THE REPAIR SHOP 17 TIMES IN 4 YEARS SO I AM DESPERATE AND NEED ANSWERS. THANK U FOR UR TIME!!!
MY STEERING IS NOW GOING IN/OUT JUST AS I HAD A COMPLETE CVT REPLACEMENT SO THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS LATER. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THAT YEAR BUT NOT FOR THE MONTH THAT MY CAR WAS PRODUCED. IT'S STILL A KNOWN ISSUE WHICH SADDENS ME BECAUSE ITS MY FIRST TIME INVESTING IN AN AMERICAN VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE IS SITTING AT AAMCO SERVICE SHOP CURRENTLY.
DRIVING POWER STEERING LIGHT CAME ON AND LOST ALL STEERING IN THE VEHICLE . HAD TO OVER POWER THE WHEEL IN ORDER TO GET TO A SAFE SPOT.WE WERE IN THE CITY DRIVING.
ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT RANDOMLY FLASHES ON THE DASH AND THEN GOES AWAY. THIS IS A REOCCURING PROBLEM WITH MY VEHICLE HAPPENING MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS. DIAGNOSTIC FOUND NO ERROR CODES IN THE SYSTEM. SEEMS TO BE A SENSOR PROBLEM.
BUSHING CONNECTING TRANSMISSION CABLE TO THE GEAR SHIFTER FAILED.
DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AND POWERING STEERING LIGHT CAME ON. STOPPED VEHICLE, AND LOST STEERING WHEN RESTARTED VEHICLE. I THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE A SENSOR ISSUE, BUT WAS WRONG. I HAD TO USE ENTIRE BODYWEIGHT TO TURN WHEEL. UNSAFE TO DRIVE.
WHINNING NOISE IN STEERING. LOW SPEEDS WHEN TURNING OR STATIONARY TURNING WHEEL.
I HAD JUST LEFT THE GYM AND WAS HEADING HOME. I HAD JUST RESUMED DRIVING AFTER AFTER BEING STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, WHEN THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME STOPPED SUDDENLY. WHEN I HIT MY BRAKES, IT FELT AS IF MY ABA WAS ENGAGING, BUT INSTEAD I HEARD A POP AND MY BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I HAD TO HIT MY BRAKE AGAIN TO STOP MY VEHICLE. THE ROAD WAS CLEAR OF ANY SAND OR GRAVEL, THE WEATHER WAS CLEAR AND IT WAS 27 DEGREASE. MY SPEED WAS APPROXIMATELY BETWEEN 12-20, DUE TO THE FACT STATED ABOVE. I CONTINUED HOME BUT MY BRAKE PEDAL KEPT DROPPING TO THE FLOOR AND I HAD TO HIT THE BRAKE AGAIN TO STOP. I DROVE HOME VERY SLOWLY WITH MY HAZARD LIGHTS ON. AFTER ARRIVING HOME I TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND WENT INSIDE. I WAITED A FEW MINUTES AND RETURNED TO MY CAR. I PLACED MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE AND AGAIN THE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. I PUMPED THE BRAKES A COUPLE OF TIMES AND THE PEDAL WOULD DROP BACK DOWN TO THE FLOOR. I NOW HAVE NO BRAKES. NOT ONE SENSOR CAME ON TO WARN ME THAT I HAD A POSSIBLE ISSUE WITH MY BRAKES. NEEDLESS-TO-SAY, THIS WAS A VERY SCARY EXPERIENCE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE GEAR WAS STUCK IN THE NEUTRAL POSITION. THE CONTACT HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO KEEP THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE DEALER (GRAHAM AUTOMALL CHEVROLET, 1515 W 4TH ST, MANSFIELD, OH) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V471000 (POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
SMELL OF EXHAUST IN CABIN WHEN HEAT WAS ON AT ALL TIMES.
WHILE DRIVING AND SOMETIMES WHEN THE VEHICLE IS CHANGING GEARS IT SHIFTS EXTREMELY HARD. HAS DONE THIS SINCE THAT CAR WAS BOUGHT. BROUGHT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE FORD DEALERSHIP WHERE IT WAS PURCHASED BUT THEY SAY NOTHING IS WRONG EVEN ONCE TRANSMISSION REPAIRS HAD TO BE DONE BECAUSE OF THE ISSUE THEY STILL CLAIM NO FAULT.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE HESITATED TO START AFTER REFUELING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC TO BE DIAGNOSED BUT WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V621000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
MY DAUGHTER DRIVING THE CAR TO WORK ON NOVEMBER 28, 2018 AT 8:00 AM GOT AN ACCIDENT ON THE RAMP TO MURRYSVILLE 22 IN PITTSBURG, DUE TO STEERING WHEEL MALFUNCTION. SHE IS ALONE AND LUCKILY SHE WAS NOT HURT AND ALSO GOOD NO OTHER CAR WAS INVOLVED. SHE IS ALWAYS ON THIS ROAD GOING TO WORK FROM MONDAY TO FRIDAY. THE CAR GOT A SERVICE AT FORD DEALERSHIP ABOUT A MONTH AGO AND SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG, AFTER THAT WAS WHEN SHE NOTICE THE WEIRD STEERING SITUATION AND THEN THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 28, 2018 WHILE GOING TO WORK.
ENTERED CAR IN THE MORNING, POWER STEERING ASSIST FAULT LIGHT ON
THE DOOR LATCH ON THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR FAILED DURING OPERATION AND THE DOOR OPENED WHILE UNDERWAY. TAKEN TO FORD TO BE FIXED AS I HAVE SEEN OTHER ISSUES WITH THE DOOR LATCH FAILING ON THE SAME VEHICLE. FORD SAID THIS WAS NOT A RECALLED PART. THE DOOR OPENED AND WOULD NOT LATCH SHUT AGAIN CAUSING ME TO TRY USE BY BELT AS A STRAP TO KEEP THE DOOR SHUT.

THE VEHICLE COASTED UNTIL THE ENGINE SHUT COMPLETELY OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. FORD CURRENTLY HAS A RECALL ON 2013 FUSIONS (RECALL 18S20) THIS INVOLVES THE BUSHING ON THE SHIFT LEVER CABLE BUSHING TO DETACH FROM THE TRANSMISSION, PREVENTING THE VEHICLE FROM BEING SECURELY IN THE PARK POSITION AND THE CAR TO ROLL. THIS OCCURRED TO MY 2013 FUSION ON 11/17/18 LEAVING ME STRANDED WITH THE VEHICLE IN THE REPAIR SHOP NOW. FORD WILL NOT HONOR THE REPAIR SAYING MY VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THE SAFETY RECALL AND I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET THOUGH THIS RECALL IS FOR 2013 FUSIONS.
VEHICLE SEEMS TO HAVE A HUMMING THUMPING NOISE AND VIBRATION WHEN RAN ON SPEEDS OVER 40 MPH. INITIALLY I THOUGHT THE TIRES HAD GONE BAD, AND IREPLACED ALL FOUR OF THEM AS WELL AS THE LUG NUTS DUE TO SWELLING AND GOT THE VEHICLE REALIGNED AT A GOOD YEAR SERVICE CENTER. AFTER THE PROCESS WAS COMPLETED I DROVE AND CAR AND THE SAME NOICE AS WELL AS VIBRATION PERSISTED. IT CAN BE FELT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE ON THE FLOOR AS WELL AS THE BREAK AND GAS PEDAL AT TIMES. 2013 FORD FUSION, PULLED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND WHEN I WENT BACK TO MY CAR I HAD NO POWER STEERING. I HAD IT CHECKED BY FLOOD FORD OF NARRAGANSETT AND THEY SAID THE STEERING GEAR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED 2132.00 AND I FIXED IT. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THIS WAS THE SAME EXACT THING AS WHAT'S BEING RECALLED. THIS PROBLEM IS EXACTLY WHAT THE CURRENT RECALL IS FOR BUT THEY SAID MY VIN # HAS NOT BEEN RECALLED. WHEN ARE THEY GOING TO INCLUDE THE VIN#'S THAT ARE ACTUALLY AFFECTED BY THIS PROBLEM THEY ARE RECALLING. MY CAR MATCHES THE EXACT INFORMATION OF THE VEHICLES THEY ARE RECALLING.THIS IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING BUT NOTHING IS BEING DONE AND I SEE A LOT OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. *TR
I WAS AT HOME AND GOT INTO MY CAR TO LEAVE AND WHEN I TURNED ON MY CAR I HAD NO POWER STEERING. I HAD A MESSAGE THAT SAID POWER STEERING FAULT ASSIST. THE AFFECTED VEHICLES HAVE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSIST SYSTEMS THAT MAY SHUT DOWN AS A RESULT OF A STEERING MOTOR SENSOR FAULT WHICH IS WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CAR. THE NHTSA NEEDS TO PUT MORE TIME INTO INVESTIGATING THIS. I HAVE READ COUNTLESS COMPLAINTS AND ISSUES FOR 3 MONTHS AND NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO RECTIFY THIS. THIS COST ME $1,985 AND MY CAR DIDN'T EVEN HAVE 100,000 MILES ON IT YET. WHY ISN'T ANYONE LOOKING INTO ALL OF THESE COMPLAINTS. THE BEHAVIOR OF THE NHTSA EXHIBITS A CARELESS, NEGLIGENT ATTITUDE, SHOWING NO CONCERN FOR PUBLIC SAFETY AND THEY SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED. MY FUSION MAKES A SOUND DISTINCTIVE SOUND BEFORE THIS HAPPENS, SOMEWHAT LOUD AND GOES IN AND OUT. ENGINE COMPLETELY SEIZES IF I'M COMING TO A STOP AND I HEARD THE SOUND. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS EXCLUDED FROM NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 15V246000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 105,000.
THE ENGINE STALLED COUPLE TIMES UNDER LOW SPEED IN THE PARKING LOT. HAPPENS EACH TIME AFTER ENGINES STARTS FOR 5 TO 10 MIN. STALLS ONLY UNDER LOW SPEED. HAVE NO RECALLS. SAW FORUMS ONLINE THAT MANY PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS ISSUE WHEN THE VEHICLE HITS AROUND 5 YEARS. ONE OF THEM EVEN GOT T BONED IN THE PARKING LOT. WENT TO DEALERSHIP TO TROUBLESHOOT MANY TIMES. AS IT TURNS OUT, LIKE ALL THE PEOPLE IN ONLINE FORUM, THE LOW FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR WAS FAULTY. CAUSING THE ENGINE COMPUTER TO SHUT OFF THE ENGINE. CHANGED THE THROTTLE BODY BEFORE FINDING THE LOW FUEL SENSOR ISSUE. COST A LOT OF MONEY TO TROUBLE SHOOT POWER TRAIN ISSUE. NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE @ 70 MPH, "SERVICE POWER STEERING" LIGHT CAME ON. STEERING REMAINED NORMAL UNTIL WE EXITED THE HWY AND THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. UPON RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, THE "SERVICE POWER STEERING" MSG CAME ON AGAIN, ONLY THIS TIME THE POWER STEERING WAS GONE. THANK GOODNESS IT DIDN'T LOCK UP ON THE INTERSTATE. THERE ARE RECALLS ON THIS FOR THIS YEAR! WHY IS MINE NOT INCLUDED???!!!
FORD SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING RECALL MY FORD FUSION SE WAS MANUFACTURED AT THE HERMOSILLO STAMPING AND ASSEMBLY PLANT ON JANUARY 10, 2013 - 4 MONTHS BEFORE THE ACTIVE RECALL APPLIES TO THE SHIFTER CABLE BUSHING ON MAY 15, 2013. MY BUSHING CAME OFF AND IS FORD IS CLAIMING AS IT IS JUST OUTSIDE THE RECALL WINDOW, IT IS A COMPLETELY NON-RECALL RELATED $500 REPAIR. I DISCOVERED THE ISSUE WHEN PUTTING THE VEHICLE INTO PARK ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD (PARALLEL PARKING) AND THE VEHICLE STAYED IN REVERSE. I HAD TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE, APPLY THE PARKING BRAKE, AND, BY HAND, REACH DOWN TO THE TRANSMISSION TO PUT THE VEHICLE BACK INTO PARK.

I ALSO PUT THE ISSUE ON YOUTUBE AND MENY OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. THIS IS CLEARLY A RECALL.
