AFTER DRIVING 10-25 MILES AND STOPPING FOR A SHORT BREAK TO GROCERY SHOP OR VISIT FAMILY. STARTING THE CAR UP AGAIN AND BACKING/PULLING OUT OF PARKING SPOT OR DRIVE WAY - IT STALLS. POWER STAYS ON, BUT ENGINE FLUCTUATES RPM IN A LUNGING FASHION BEFORE PUTTERING OUT. THIS CAN HAPPEN MULTIPLE TIMES A DAY OR EVERY COUPLE OF DAYS IT'S VERY RANDOM. I HAVE TALKED TO ANOTHER FORD FUSION OWNER AND THEY HAVE HAD VERY SIMILAR ISSUES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP SIGN, THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE FAILURE WAS PERSISTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000.

IT WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT FOR THE MECHANIC TO REMOVE THE LUG NUTS; THEREFORE, ALL TWENTY LUG NUTS WERE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED AND WAS COASTED TO A PARKING SPACE. A "FUEL ECONOMY" WARNING MESSAGE APPEARED. THE VEHICLE WAS TURNED OFF. UPON ATTEMPTING TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. ONCE THE HOOD WAS OPENED, FLAMES WERE SEEN ON THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE OF THE ENGINE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT CALLED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE HEAD CRACKED FROM OVERHEATING, WHICH SENT OIL TO THE HOT TURBO. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V551000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE CONTROL CAUSES THE CAR IDLE TO DROP AND THE ACCELERATOR TO BECOME UNRESPONSIVE. THIS CAUSES THE CAR TO STALL. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME MULTIPLE TIMES IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A COUPLE MONTHS AND IS BECOMING MORE FREQUENT.

I WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND NOTICED SMOKE COMING THROUGH THE VENT INSIDE THE CAR. I PULLED OVER AND TRIED TO GET OUT THE CAR MY DOOR WOULDN'T OPEN SO I HAD TO PUNCH IT WHEN I GOT OUT THE CAR WAS ON FIRE UNDERNEATH THE FRONT TIRES. AFTER THE FIRE DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATED IT WAS PROVEN THAT THE FIRE STARTED FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. *TR
I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE BEEP TURNED ON, THE DASHBOARD SYMBOL SAID, "DOOR AJAR," AND STOPPED THE CAR. MY PASSENGER COULDN'T CLOSE THE DOOR. SHE HAD TO HOLD IT CLOSE TO GET TO OUR DESTINATION BECAUSE WE WERE 10 MILES FROM OUR HOME AND ON A BUSY HIGHWAY (HWY 301).
ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY MALFUNCTION, CAR WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AND AFTER RETURNING TO MY CAR I STARTED IT AND PUT IT INTO DRIVE, AS SOON AS I LET OF THE BRAKE AND TOUCHED THE GAS PEDDLE THE CAR MAXED OUT IN RPM AND THE CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN EVEN AFTER PUSHING ON THE BRAKE RESULTING CRASHING INTO A LIGHT POLE.
LEFT MY HOUSE DROVE 5 MILES, STOPPED TO SISTERS HOUSE TO DROP OFF AN ITEM, 2-3 MINUTES LATER WALKED OUTSIDE AND FOUND FLAMES COMING OUT OF THE HOOD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE NEAR WINDSHIELD. BARELY ABLE TO OPEN DOOR QUICK ENOUGH TO GET MY PURSE OUT AND IT WAS ENGULFED. WOKE UP A NEIGHBOR WHO CAME OVER WITH A TRUCK TO DRAG IT AWAY FROM HOUSE AND GARAGE. WASN'T FOR HIM MY SISTERS HOUSE WOULD BEEN LOST AS IT TOOK 25 MINUTES FOR FIRE DEPARTMENT TO SHOW UP. ONLY THING NOT BURNED IS THE TAILLIGHTS. OBVIOUSLY THERE WAS AN ISSUE IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. HAVE READ ABOUT A RECALL FOR THIS SPECIFIC MODEL FOR THIS SPECIFIC REASON. FEELING LIKE MY INSURANCE IS NOT GOING TO BE VERY HELPFUL WITH DAMAGES. WHAT ELSE CAN BE DONE?

I WAS DRIVING ON I-71 TO COLUMBUS IN TYPICAL DECEMBER WEATHER WHEN AN ERROR MESSAGE APPEARED STATING 'STEERING LOSS STOP SAFELY'. HAVING READ THE MESSAGE AND EXPERIENCING NO IMMEDIATE CHANGE IN STEERING PERFORMANCE, IT WENT AWAY AFTER BEING DISPLAYED FOR SEVERAL SECONDS. AFTER STOPPING FOR ABOUT AN HOUR IN COLUMBUS, A 'STEERING LOSS STOP SAFELY' ERROR MESSAGE REAPPEARED UPON RESTARTING AND STEERING BECAME ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. SEVERAL SUBSEQUENT RESTARTS MADE NO DIFFERENCE. A SHORT TEST DRIVE CONFIRMED THAT THE STEERING WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT (EVEN WITH TWO HANDS) AT SPEEDS FROM 0 TO 20 MPH. THE STEERING EFFORT DID NOT APPEAR TO DECREASE WITH INCREASED SPEED. THE CAR WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST FORD DEALER WHERE THEY 'VERIFIED PULL CODES, CLEAR CODES, UPDATED PSCM.RD TEST RESET PASS' (SEE ATTACHED REPAIR DOCUMENTATION). VEHICLE HAS BEEN OPERATING NORMALLY IN THE BRIEF PERIOD SINCE THEN (~100MI). IT IS FORTUNATE THAT THE SEVERELY COMPROMISED STEERING OCCURRED AT STARTUP. STEERING WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT EVEN FOR A 225 POUND MALE. A PETITE FEMALE MAY NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO STEER AT ALL. HAD THE LOSS OCCURRED UNEXPECTEDLY AT HIGH SPEED, IT COULD HAVE EASILY CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. THE FACT THAT THE DEALER UPDATED THE SOFTWARE MAKES ME SUSPICIOUS THAT THEY KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM. IF SO, I THINK A RECALL IS WARRANTED BEFORE ANYONE IS INJURED OR KILLED. THE RESULT OF THIS SOFTWARE PROBLEM IS JUST AS SERIOUS AS A MECHANICAL FAILURE SINCE IT RESULTS IN NEAR TOTAL LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. *TR
MY CAR HAS 66,000 MILES ON IT. 3 OF THE 4 FUEL INJECTORS HAVE FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAYS, WHEN COLD OUTSIDE. ALL IN THE LAST MONTH. SEARCHING FORUMS, THIS ISN'T JUST ME. EVERY FORD HYBRID HAS THIS PROBLEM. *TR
SHIFTER CABLE WENT BAD AT 78000 MILES. THE CAR WOULD NOT GO DOWN IN GEAR. EVERY TIME YOU GO BACK IT WOULD STAY IN THAT GEAR AND NEVER GO BACK TO PARK. IT GOT STUCK IN THE SPORT GEAR AND NEVER ABLE TO GO TO NEUTRAL, DRIVE NOR PARK. THE DEALERSHIP SAID THAT THE CABLE FROM THE SHIFTER TO THE TRANSMISSION WAS BAD. THIS PART COST $512 TO FIX AT THE DEALERSHIP.
CAR DIES WHILE IDLING. WAS PULLING ONTO A MAJOR HIGHWAY ON SATURDAY WHEN IT COMPLETED DIED, WAS ABLE TO QUICKLY PUT CAR INTO NEUTRAL AND RESTART IT.
BEGINNING APPROXIMATELY 4 MONTHS AGO, FROM A COLD START IN EITHER A REVERSE OR FORWARD DIRECTION, MY CAR WOULD SLOWLY LOSE POWER AND WITHIN 30 SECONDS, STALL. THE ELECTRONICS STILL FUNCTION, HOWEVER THE CAR MUST BE PUT INTO PARK, TURNED OFF, THEN RESTARTED. AFTER RESEARCHING, I DISCOVERED THAT MY CAR DID FIT THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE "RECALL" GIVEN TO 2013 FUSIONS BASED ON ITS ASSEMBLY PLANT AND ASSEMBLY DATE. I VISITED MY DEALER, HOWEVER THEY WERE UNABLE TO HELP BECAUSE THERE "WAS NO CODE THROWN." INDEED, NO WRENCH OR ENGINE WARNING LIGHT WAS GIVEN AT THE TIME OF MY CAR STALLING. IT HAS NOW HAPPENED NEARLY A DOZEN TIMES - THE MOST RECENT OCCURRING ON DEC 10, 2016 - AND I EXPECT IT TO KEEP HAPPENING UNLESS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY IS FIXED. BECAUSE THE DEALER BELIEVES THAT I DO NOT FIT WITHIN THE REQUIREMENTS HOWEVER, I AM UNABLE TO HAVE THIS ISSUE TAKEN CARE OF.
MY CAR WAS OVERHEATING AND LEAKING COOLANT. THE FORD DEALERSHIP TOOK MY CAR IN FOR RECALL REPAIRS. THEY HAD IT FOR ABOUT 1 WEEK. HOWEVER, MY ENGINE OVERHEATING LIGHT STILL COMES ON AND NOW MY ENGINE FAN SOUNDS LIKE A JET. IT IS SUPER LOUD AS IF THEY ALTERED IT TO KEEP MY CAR FROM OVERHEATING AND NEVER REPAIRED THE RECALL ISSUE. WHEN THE FAN COMES ON SO LOUD, YOU CAN HEAR A LOUD WHISTLE THROUGH MY AV VENTS.
THIS CAR (2013 FORD FUSION ECOBOOST) IS APPROX 3 YEARS OLD WITH ONLY 59K MILES. AT SLOW SPEEDS SUCH AS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT OR COASTING TO A SLOW SPEED AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN THE ENGINE JUST DIES LIKE IT RAN OUT OF GAS. YOU HAVE TO PULL OVER AND STOP THE CAR. YOU THEN HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR. AFTER A FEW SECONDS IT STARTS JUST FINE. IT'S RANDOM BUT BECOMING MORE FREQUENT. IT'S A SAFETY CONCERN AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE DEALER SAID IT'S PROBABLY THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY A VERY WELL KNOWN ISSUE ACCORDING TO POSTINGS. PART IS $700 AND LABOR $200 FOR A PART THAT IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY FOR OTHER FORD FUSION BUT NOT THE ECOBOOST! . NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC ADMINISTRATION (NHTSA) OPENED ANINVESTIGATIONINTO SUDDEN SURGES AND POWER LOSS IN FORD ENGINES. BY MARCH OF 2014, FORD AGREED TO A MASSIVE 'CUSTOMER SATISFACTION PROGRAM' THAT EXTENDED THE ETB WARRANTY TO 10 YEARSOR150,000 MILES FOR CERTAIN VEHICLES. FOR WHATEVER REASON, FORD REFUSES TO CALL IT A RECALL. O 2009-2013 FORD ESCAPE O 2009-2013 FORD FUSION O 2009-2013 MERCURY MARINER O 2009-2013 MERCURY MILAN THE DEALER IS SAYING THEY CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG BUT DID REPLACE THE BATTERY FOR A FEE. IT IS RANDOM AS I TOLD THE DEALER BEFORE AND REALLY BEGINGING TO THINK THEY DO NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE ISSUE. VERY DANGEROUS IF SOMEONE PULLS OUT IN TRAFFIC AND THE CAR STALLS OUT. ON DECEMBER 5TH 2016 AT APPROXIMATELY 6:15, MY VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN A VIOLENT REAR END ACCIDENT. A 1980 STEEL PICK UP RAN INTO THE BACK OF MY STATIONARY 2013 FORD FUSION. CAUSING MAJOR REAR END DAMAGE AND PHYSICAL INJURY TO THE OCCUPANTS OF THIS STATIONARY CAR. MY MOTHER WAS PROPERLY PLACED IN HER PASSENGER SEAT'S SEAT BELT. HOWEVER, HER RIGHT ARM WAS DAMAGED DUE TO IMPROPER SUSPENSION UPON IMPACT. AS A RESULT SHE NO LONGER HAS USE OF HER RIGHT HAND DUE TO NERVE DAMAGE.

APPARENTLY THE LUGS NUTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE 2013 FORD FUSION HYBRID CORRODE AND IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO CHANGE A TIRE (OR ROTATE THEM DURING AN INSPECTION). I WAS TOLD THAT THE CORROSION OCCURS IN A COUPLE OF HAPPEN YEARS AND THEREFORE, I MUST BUY NEW LUG NUTS AT $200 PLUS AND DRIVE WITH A FLAT TIRE. SO I BUY A NEW CAR AND OR SPEND $200 DOLLAR EVERY A COUPLE OF YEARS. I WAS TOLD A LOT OF CUSTOMERS HAVE COMPLAINED.

POWER STEERING SYSTEM FAULT CAME ON THE DASH. PRESSED THE OK BUTTON AND THEN NOTICED BALLS OF FIRE COMING FROM UNDER THE VEHICLE. I THEN TRIED TO PULL OVER. I COULDN'T BRAKE, PRESS THE GAS, OR TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. THE CAR THEN BURST INTO FLAMES AND THEN THE VEHICLE EXPLODED AND BURNED.
YESTERDAY I PURCHASED A VEHICLE THROUGH AN AUTO BROKER FROM MANHEIM ATLANTA. ACCORDING TO THE TECHNICIAN FROM AAA ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND THE TECHNICIAN FROM GOODYEAR AUTO SERVICE, MY LUNG NUTS NEED REPLACED. REPORTEDLY, THE LUG NUTS HAVE A METAL COVERING CAUSING THEM TO SWELL. THE TIRE IRON DOES NOT FIT PROPERLY, MAKING IT DIFFICULT TO REMOVE OR TIGHTEN THE NUTS. UNLESS THE NUTS ARE REPLACED, IT MAY BE IMPOSSIBLE TO REMOVE OR SAFELY SECURE A TIRE IN AN EMERGENCY. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIP CENTER ABOUT THE PROBLEM. THEY WILL NOT ADDRESS THE PROBLEM, SINCE I AM OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY PERIOD. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. IF SOMEONE HAS A FLAT TIRE, THEY MAY END UP BEING STRANDED OR GET INJURED BECAUSE A TIRE IS NOT SECURELY MOUNTED.
MY 2013 FORD FUSION CAUGHT ON FIRE WHILE MY FAMILY AND I WERE DRIVING ON THE 405 FREEWAY. WE BARELY GOT OUT ALIVE AND THE CAR WAS COMPLETELY INCINERATED...BURNT TO PIECES ! IRECEIVED A RECALL FOR ENGINE FIRES AFTER THE CAR CAUGHT FIRE AND NEARLY TOOK OUR LIVES!!. MY 8 YEAR OLD DISABLED DAUGHTER IS SO TRAUMATIZED FROM THIS CAR FIRE. I DON'T KNOW HOW FORD CAN CONTINUE TO STILL MAKE THESE DEATH TRAP CARS.
MY VEHICLE HAS 72000 MILES ON IT. I WAS DRIVING ON I90 OUTSIDE OF BUFFALO WHEN THE CAR HAD TROUBLE ACCELERATING, IT WAS UNABLE TO MAINTAIN SPEED AND BY THE TIME I WAS ABLE TO PULL OFF WOLD NOT MOVE ANY FARTHER. THE DEALERSHIP HAS DIAGNOSED THE ISSUE AS NEEDING A NEW TRANSMISSION. A PLASTIC CAP HAD MELTED INTO THE TRANSMISSION LINES, AND FORD IS REFUSING TO COVER THE REPAIR AT 100%, AS THIS WAS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT.
REAR CENTER SEAT BELT LOCKED AND WOULD NOT EXTEND, TRAPPING THE OCCUPANT IN THE SEAT. THE SEAT BELT WOULD NOT EXTEND ONCE RETRACTED FULLY, LOCKING THE SEAT IN A FOLDED POSITION.
NOVEMBER 2016 WHILE I WAS COMING FROM THE GROCERY STORE MY CAR SUDDENLY STALLED AND COMPLETELY STOPPED. I IMMEDIATELY STARTED THE CAR BACK UP AND DROVE FOR A GOOD 2 MINUTES AND IT DID THE SAME THING, BUT THIS TIME I WAS IN THE STREET. AFTER LETTING MY VEHICLE SIT FOR 15 MINUTES IT DID EVENTUALLY START BACK UP AND DROVE SMOOTHLY. BUT THAT WASN'T THE LAST TIME MY CAR WOULD JUST SUDDENLY STOP. IN DECEMBER I TOOK MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND TOLD THEM WHAT HAD HAPPEN TO MY CAR. THE CHECK MY FLUIDS AND TOLD ME NOTHING WAS WRONG (WHICH WAS A LIE). EVERYDAY SINCE NOVEMBER IF I DRIVE MY CAR TOO MUCH, IT SHUTS OFF. IF I AM ON THE FREEWAY IN TRAFFIC, MY CAR WILL JUST TURN OFF. NOW FEBRUARY, I RECEIVED AN ERROR MESSAGE (ENGINE COOLANT OVER TEMPERATURE) AND MY CAR WILL NOT MOVE AT ALL. CALL FORD MOTOR AND WAS TOLD MY CAR WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALL IN REGARDS TO THE ENGINE, CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP AND I HAVE TO PAY FOR IT TO BE TOWED TO THEM , BECAUSE THE PART MIGHT NOT BE INCLUDED IN MY WARRANTY. MY CAR HAS 76,000. I DO MY OIL CHANGES AND MAINTENANCE ON TIME, AND ALWAYS GO TO THE DEALERSHIP. MY CAR LIGHTS IN THE INSIDE TURNS ON WHILE I'M DRIVING WITHOUT ME EVEN PUSHING THEM (CREEPY). CAR IS EQUIPPED WITH 1.6 ECHOBOOST ISSUE STARTED LAST YEAR CAR POWERED DOWN FOR NO REASON DEALER COULD NOT FIND PROBLEM. FORD CHANGED WATER PUMP AT THIS TIME STATING RECALL EVEN THOUGH AT THIS TIME I EXPLAINED COULD SMELL ANTIFREEZE. CAR BEGAN TO ACT UP AGAIN CHANGED SPARK PLUGS ONLY TO HAVE ONE STICK FIXED PROBLEM AT MY EXPENSE FORD EXPLAINED NEVER HEARD OF THIS ISSUE WHICH IS NONSENSE ACCORDING TO THE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS NOTED ONLINE. GOT CAR BACK SAME DAY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON FORD SAID IT WAS FUEL SENSOR WHICH I PAID. NEXT WEEK CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON FINALLY DEALER SMELLED ANTIFREEZE EVEN THOUGH THIS HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO THERE ATTENTION. FORD DOES NOT WANT TO COVER ITEMS EVEN THOUGH THIS WAS A CERTIFIED USED CAR AND HAS 65000 MILES STILL UNDER 100000 MILE WARRANTY. PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. THE DOOR WILL NOT STAY SHUT AND IT OPENS EASILY. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND THE DOOR OPENED WHEN I WAS BRAKING. THE DOOR ALSO OPENS BY ITSELF WHEN I MAKE LEFT TURNS. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND I WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO PAY FOR IT OUT OF POCKET.
FORD DOOR LATCH ISSUE. DOOR IS VERY DIFFICULT TO LATCH SHUT, EVEN WHEN THE DOOR DOES LATCH SHUT, IT HAS A FREQUENT HABIT OF POPPING OPEN WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I HAVE NOTIFIED FORD OF THE ISSUE. FORD HAS REFUSED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE A RECALL ON THESE VEHICLES FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT MINE IS NOT ON THE RECALL LIST. THIS IS THE SECOND FORD I HAVE OWNED THAT HAS HAD THE SAME ISSUE AS OTHER VEHICLES THAT WERE ON THE RECALL LIST BUT MINE WERE NOT. VERY DISSATISFIED WITH FORD, THEIR PRODUCT, AND THERE CUSTOMER RELATIONS FOR NOT GETTING THIS RESOLVED. NEVER AGAIN SHALL I OWN ANOTHER FORD PRODUCT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V551000 (ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR 6 MONTHS, YET THERE IS STILL NO FIX IN THE NEAR FUTURE. I AM DRIVING AROUND IN A SAFETY-COMPROMISED VEHICLE EVERY DAY. THIS CAR (2013 FORD FUSION ECOBOOST) IS 3 YEARS OLD WITH ONLY 50K MILES. AT SLOW SPEEDS SUCH AS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT OR COASTING TO A SLOW SPEED AT A LIGHT OR STOP SIGN THE ENGINE JUST DIES LIKE IT RAN OUT OF GAS. YOU HAVE TO PULL OVER AND STOP THE CAR. YOU THEN HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR. AFTER A FEW SECONDS IT STARTS JUST FINE. IT'S RANDOM BUT BECOMING MORE FREQUENT. IT HAPPENED 3 TIMES TO MY WIFE THE OTHER DAY. IT'S A SAFETY CONCERN AND DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE DEALER SAID IT'S PROBABLY THE ELECTONIC THROTTLE BODY A VERY WELL KNOWN ISSUE ACCORDING TO POSTINGS. PART IS $700 AND LABOR $200 FOR A PART THAT IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY FOR OTHER FORD FUSIONS BUT NOT THE ECOBOOST! MY LAST FORD FUSION HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. THAT COST ME $500. I GUESS I DIDN'T LEARN MY LESSON THEN BUT I'VE LEARNED MY LESSON NOW. WILL GET RID OF THIS CAR AND NEVER BUY FORD AGAIN. I LOOK AT EVERY FORD FUSION ON THE ROAD NOW AS A DEATH TRAP WAITING TO HAPPEN.
