OPEN RECALL NUMBER 16S42 - SEAT BELT TENSIONERS NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY - FORD WILL NOT AUTHORIZE ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION. I AM WRITING TO FILE A COMPLAINT ON FORD THAT THEY WILL NOT PROVIDE ALTERANTE TRANSPORTATION FOR A CLEAR SAFETY ISSUE
ACCORDING TO NHTSA RECALL 16V-875, RECALL IS FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGER SEATBELT PRETENSIONER CABLES. THEY MAY SEPARATE AND NOT ADEQUATELY RESTRAIN DRIVER OR OCCUPANT IN A CRASH, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY. I'VE BEEN CALLING MY LOCAL FORD DEALER SINCE 1/23/17 AND THE PARTS ARE NEVER IN! WHAT GOOD ARE SEATBELTS THAT MIGHT NOT WORK AND REPLACEMENT PARTS THAT ARE NEVER AVAILABLE TO FIX THE PROBLEM?? IT WILL NOT LET ME TURN. IT IS VERY HARD TO TURN LEFT OR RIGHT
I WAS COMING HOME FROM WORK AND I GET AN ERROR MESSAGE THAT SAID "STOP SAFELY NOW". ALL OF A SUDDEN MY LIGHTS FLASHED AND MY CAR CUT OFF. MY CAR HASN'T RAN YET. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING IT TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. FORD, WHEN I CALLED THEN TOLD ME THAT IT WASN'T UNDER A RECALL AND I WOULD HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR EVERYTHING.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT CALLED BUD CLARY HONDA OF MOSES LAKE AT (509) 765-3467 (LOCATED AT 1200 S PIONEER WAY, MOSES LAKE, WA 98837) WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
"NEW RACK AND PINION SYSTEM ORDERED FOR VEHICLE. SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE TO INSTALL NEW FORD FUSION STEERING GEAR RACK PINION IS SET TO TAKE PLACE AT RIVER TOWN FORD COLUMBUS,GA ON THE DATE OF 21 JAN 2017. CURRENT HEALTH REPORT WAS DONE 10 JAN. 2017. CUSTOMER WAS INFORMED ON 7 JAN. 2017 THAT THE CAR IS STILL SAFE TO DRIVE AFTER THE DEALER'S DIAGNOSES. AFTER A WEEK AND AFTER THE CUSTOMER SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT DATE, 7 JAN 2017, FOR INITIAL DIAGNOSES MORE FAILURES OCCURRED; ON THE DATE OF 14 JAN 2017, DRIVING WITH THE FAULTY FORD FUSION STEERING GEAR RACK PINION STILL INSTALLED HAS CAUSED FURTHER MALFUNCTION OF THE TRACTION CONTROL, IT FAILS TO TURN ON, AND THE FORWARD COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM HAS ALSO FAILED. THE CUSTOMER FEARS THAT THE MALFUNCTIONING OF THE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM WILL BE USED TO PLACE FAULT ON THE CUSTOMER FOR THE FAILURE OF THE 2014 FORD FUSION STEERING GEAR RACK PINION EVEN THOUGH THE CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY AT 31991 MILES. SAFETY FEATURES TRACTION CONTROL AND COLLISION WARNING SYSTEM FAILURE INDICATES THE FORD FUSION STEERING GEAR RACK PINION MAYBE FAULTY AFTER 30,000 PLUS MILES; THIS IS A ROAD SAFETY ISSUE AND THE FAILURE OF THE FORD FUSION STEERING GEAR RACK PINION PLACES THE VEHICLE OUT OF COMPLIANCE WITH 571.126 STANDARD NO. 126; ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEMS FOR LIGHT VEHICLES ("NHTSA 33-12" STANDARDS (HTTPS://WWW.GPO.GOV/FDSYS/PKG/FR-2015-06-23/PDF/2015-14127.PDF) ). ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE ENGINE WOULD STALL WHILE DRIVING AND AFTER A MINUTE OR TWO WOULD SURGE FORWARD. I HAVE INFORMED THE FORD DEALER OF THIS PROBLEM SINCE JANUARY 2017.
THE LATCH ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT DOOR STOPPED WORKING, CAUSING THE DRIVER'S FRONT DOOR TO NOT LATCH SHUT. APPARENTLY MY CAR IS NOT COVERED IN THE EXISTING RECALL FOR THIS ISSUE. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN THIS ISSUE FIRST OCCURRED.

THIS ALL TOOK PLACE TODAY 6 JAN 2017, DUE TO THE CUSTOMERS FEAR THE VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE, IT WAS INSPECTED BY A NEAR BY MECHANIC "TIRE ENGINEERS" THE CAR IS AT 31,200+ MILES AND HAVING MECHANICAL ISSUES WITH THE SUSPENSION. "THIS IS ONE OF MANY TIMES THE CAR HAS HAD A "FRONT END SUSPENSION ISSUE"; ATTEMPTS TO FIX THE VEHICLE AT A DEALER (OPELIKA FORD) HAVE ENDED IN FAILURE TO PROVIDE WARRANTY PARTS TO REPLACE FAULTY PARTS IN THE PAST. SINCE OPELIKA FORD DID NOT INSPECT THE VEHICLE, 2014 FORD FUSION AWD SEDAN, ON 6 JAN 2017 AN APPOINT WAS MADE FOR 11 JAN 2017 TO INSPECT THE VEHICLE AT THAT DEALER, NO WALK-INS ALLOWED; UNCLEAR IF THE CAR WAS SAFE THE CUSTOMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER IN COLUMBUS, GA. ANOTHER APPOINTMENT WAS SET FOR SATURDAY 7 JAN 2017 TO DIAGNOSES SUSPENSION ISSUES. THERE IS A 36,000 MILES MANUFACTURE WARRANTY. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN ON GOING WITH NO RESOLUTION BUT A BACK AND FORTH BETWEEN THE DEALER (OPELIKA FORD) AND CUSTOMER'S HOME, PLACING 40 MILES TO DRIVE TO THE DEALER AND FROM DEALER'S LOCATION, AS A RESULT THE MECHANICAL ISSUES HAVE WORSEN." "THE DRIVE IS PLACING THE CAR OUT OF MANUFACTURERS WARRANTY SOON." "PART COST ASSESSMENT IS $2226.37 TO REPLACE IF OUT OF WARRANTY."

MY WIFE ARRIVED AT WORK AND SHIFTED THE CAR INTO PARK. WHILE EXITING THE CAR STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. SHE HAD TO APPLY THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP IT. WHILE THE DASH AND SHIFTER SAID THE CAR WAS IN PARK IT WAS REALLY IN NEUTRAL OR REVERSE. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE REPLACED THE SHIFTER CABLE ASSEMBLY AND TOLD ME THAT A SMALL PLASTIC BUSHING BROKE AND THATS WHAT CAUSED THE ISSUE. TOTAL COST OF THE REPAIR WAS $410. THERE IS NOW A RECALL FOR THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM BUT THEY WILL NOT REFUND ME THE MONEY BECAUSE MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. THE RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED TO COVER MORE FUSION'S. MINE WAS AT THE FLAT ROCK ASSEMBLY PLANT AS THE RECALLED CARS WERE, JUST TWO WEEKS AFTER THE CUTOFF DATE OF SEPT. 14, 2013. FORD CORPORATE WAS NO HELP JUST TOLD ME TO CALL THE DEALER WHERE I HAD THE REPAIR DONE. TYPICAL FORD CUSTOMER SERVICE I MUST SAY AFTER DEALING WITH THEM FOR THE PAST 4+ YEARS.

DASH LIGHT ON ' CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM LIGHT ALWAYS ON, OCCASIONALLY GOES OUT WHEN STARTED, REPLACED ALTERNATOR WHICH WAS TESTED AT 14.3 CHARGING CAPACITY, CHANGED BATTERY, CHECKED SOLENOID- LIGHT REMAINS LIT. IF LEFT PARKED FOR MORE THAN THREE TO FIVE DAYS BATTERY DRAINS AND MUST BE CHARGED TO START CAR. ISSUE STARTED WHEN CAR WAS 2YEARS OLD 2016 - TO DATE. I HAVE PURCHASED 4 REPLACEMENT BATTERIES DUE TO CONTINUOUS BATTERY DRAIN CAUSING BATTERY FAILURE AROUND SIX MONTHS OF NEW BATTERY PURCHASES. NO SOLUTION TO DATE-
CAR DOOR LATCH UNEXPECTEDLY STOPPED WORKING. I PARKED AT A CONVIENT STORE AND CLOSED MY DOOR. MY DOOR WILL NOT STAY CLOSED AND NOW I CAN NOT SECURE MY CAR, NOR CAN I SAFELY DRIVE THE VEHICLE.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AT 35 MPH, AN ABNORMAL NOISE EMITTED FROM FRONT DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE AS THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME EXTREMELY SOFT AND WENT TO FLOORBOARD. AS A RESULT, THE BRAKES HESITATED TO RESPOND AS THE CONTACT REACHED AN INTERSECTION AND THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY STOPPED AND THE INFORMATION CENTER DISPLAYED THAT THERE WAS BRAKE FAILURE MESSAGE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 35,000.
I GOT A SAFETY RECALL FROM FORD IN DECEMBER 2016, RECALL ISSUED NOVERMBER 2016. STILL NO PARTS AVAILABLE TO FIX MY SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY...9 MONTHS LATER.
COMPLETE ELECTRICAL POWER FAILURE DUE TO PERSISTENT DRAIN ON BATTERY. AFTER JUMPSTART, CAR WAS OPERATIONAL; HOWEVER, THERE IS INTERMITTENT FAILURE WHEN THE CAR IS NOT IN USE FOR 24 HOURS. INTERMITTENT HARD FAULT WITH DTC P0887 IN SOBDMC (SECONDARY ON BOARD DIAGNOSTICS MODEL C). THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PLUG IN HYBRID CAR AND THE CURRENT SERVICE MODEL ARE INCONSISTENT. THIS IS A BIGGER PROBLEM THAN MOST RECOGNIZE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

STEERING BOLTS HAVE LOOSENED, RESULTING IN SOME LOSS OF CONTROL OF VEHICLE. VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING STRAIGHT ON A LEVEL HIGHWAY WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THIS IS A PERSISTENT STATE.

RECALL 16S42. STILL WAITING ON A REMEDY FOR MY FORD FUSION HYBRID 2014. I DON'T BELIEVE THAT IT SHOULD BE TAKING THIS LONG.
MY CAR HAS HAD AN OPEN RECALL FOR THE SEATBELTS SINCE 03 NOV 2016, AND THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. THIS IS IN ADDITION TO SEVERAL OTHER RECALLS, INCLUDING ONE A COUPLE DAYS AGO FOR FAULTY DOOR LATCHES, AND THE OVERALL POOR QUALITY OF THE VEHICLE. I CAN'T EVEN TRADE IT IN BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS A VEHICLE WITH AN OPEN RECALL. I FEEL THAT FIVE AND A HALF MONTHS IS AN EXCESSIVE TIME FOR A RECALL TO STILL HAVE NO REMEDY.
