TAKATA RECALL - WISH TO HAVE THE BAGS REPLACED.
TAKATA RECALL. POWER STEERING WENT OUT UPON MORNING START IN DRIVEWAY; CAR WAS STATIONARY. SERVICETRAC LIGHT ILLUMINATED. TURNED IGNITION OFF AND RESTARTED.NO POWER STEERING. WAITING FOR TOW TO DEALER. CAR HAS 20,000 MILES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. WITHIN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME OF OWNING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT STATED THAT IT WENT INTO A TRANSPORTATION MODE WHILE DRIVING THAT LED TO A DRASTIC REDUCTION IN SPEED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE FOLLOWING DEALERS: LASCO FORD (2525 OWEN RD, FENTON, MI 48430, (888) 486-1708) AND ROYAL OAK FORD (27550 WOODWARD AVE, ROYAL OAK, MI 48067, (248) 548-4100). ONE OF THE DEALERS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING AND PARKING BRAKE FAILED. A LOANER VEHICLE WAS PROVIDED FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME, BUT THE FAILURES WERE NOT CORRECTED FOR THE CONTACT TO DRIVE HER VEHICLE. LASCO FORD REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY, MOTOR ASSEMBLY, AND A GASKET; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 1.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, several unknown warning lights illuminated and started flashing. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.
I PURCHASED A 2016 FORD FUSION SE BRAND NEW AND AFTER A WEEK OF OWNING THE CAR I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND THE CAR JERKED VERY HARD, I HAD TO CHECK MY REARVIEW MIRROR THOUGHT SOMEONE REAR ENDED ME BUT NO THE CAR BEHIND WAS SOME DISTANCE AWAY. IT SLOWED SOME WHILE I HAD MY FOOT ON THE GAS BUT PICKED UP SPEED SHORTLY AFTER. I IGNORED THAT FIGURED IT WAS NO BIG DEAL. I WAS DRIVING A FEW WEEKS AFTER THAT OCCURRENCE IN THE CITY AND THE CAR MADE A REVING UP NOISE AND I THOUGHT WHO CAR IS THAT I CONTINUED TO DRIVE AND NOTICED IT WAS MY CAR MAKING THE NOISE AND THE SPEED WOULD NOT ACCELERATE SO I HAD TO QUICKLY HIT MY FLASHERS SO THE CARS BEHIND ME WOULD KNOW MY CAR HAD STALLED. I HAD TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON TO GET IT TO MOVE. I CALLED THE DEALER AND BROUGHT IT IN THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE OR PULL CODES TO FIND OUT WHY THE CAR WOULD NOT DRIVE THAT DAY. THIS SAME SCENARIO HAS HAPPENED TO ME ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS AND ONCE TAKEN TO THE DEALER THEY CAN NOT ASSIST ME. I HAVE NOT MADE THE FIRST CAR PAYMENT AND THIS CAR ALREADY GIVING MY PROBLEMS. I RESEARCHED THE CAR AND NOTICED CUSTOMERS HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS ISSUE FOR YEARS NOW AND FORD REFUSE TO RECALL WHAT SEEMS TO BE A THROTTLE ISSUE AND THE CAR STALLS OUT WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. I HAVE A NEW CAR THAT I AM SCARED TO DRIVE SINCE THERE IS NO WARNING LIGHTS OR SIGNALS WHEN THIS WILL HAPPEN AGAIN IT HAS ALREADY ON 5 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AND NOONE SEEMS TO BE ABLE TO RESOLVE MY ISSUE WHICH IS VERY DISAPPOINTING. I PRAY NO ONE HAS TO DIE OR GET HURT BEFORE THIS ISSUE IS ADDRESSED.
2016 FORD FUSION. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE WINDSHIELD AND DASHBOARD ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE SUN SHINED THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD ONTO THE DASHBOARD, IT REFLECTED A 'V" ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL ON THE DASHBOARD. THE EDGES OF THE "V" REFLECTED ONTO THE INSIDE OF THE FRONT WINDSHIELD AND INTERFERED WITH THE DRIVER'S VISION. THE CENTER CUT OUT IN THE CENTER OF THE DASHBOARD ALSO REFLECTED ONTO THE INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD, BUT SINCE IT WAS CENTERED IT DID NOT INTERFERE WITH THE DRIVER'S VISION. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE REFLECTION ON THE DRIVER'S WINDSHIELD WAS A DESIGN DEFECT. IF THE "V" WAS NOT CUT INTO THE DASHBOARD ABOVE THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, THERE WOULD BE NO REFLECTION. IF THE DASHBOARD WAS ANTI-GLARE THE PROBLEM WOULD PROBABLY BE SOLVED. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED. THE FAILURE WAS INTERMITTENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 FORD FUSION. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED WHEN SHIFTED INTO SECOND OR THIRD GEAR. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 2,000.
THIS CAR IS THE SECOND FUSION HYBRID I HAVE. THE 2015 AND 2016 HYBRID TITANIUM HAD THE SAME ISSUES. I CHANGED ONE FOR THE OTHER IN HOPE THE PROBLEM WOULD BE GONE. ALMOST EVERYTIME I DRIVE IN LOW SPEEDS, CIRCA 15MPH UP TO 30MPH ON UNLEVELED PAVEMENT WITH SETTS THE FOLLOWING LIGHTS TURN ON: ADVANCE TRAC, ABS, HILL ASSISTANT CONTROL. WHILST THOSE LIGHTS ARE ON, NONE OF THOSE FUNCTIONS WORKS. AS IT HAPPENED IN 2015 AND STILL HAPPENS IN MY 2016. IVE COMPLAINT TO FORD, BUT THEY NEVER GAVE ME A SOLUTION. I BELIEVE IT IS SOFTWARE PROBLEMS IN ABS MODULE. BUT NO UP TO DATE CALIBRATION FILES HAVE RESOLVED THIS ISSUE. IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY, SO I WILL INPUT THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WITH THE OLDER CAR (2015). I KNOW THAT NHTSA HAVE BEEN INVESTIGATING A SIMILAR ISSUE WITH 2009 TO 2011 FUSIONS. BUT I HAVE NO IDEA ABOUT THE CLOSURE OF THOSE CASES NEITHER WHETHER THERE IS ANY OTHER INVESTIGATION GOING ON. I LIVE IN BRAZIL, BUT HERE, THE GOVERNMENT AND FORD DO NOT CARE ABOUT CUSTOMERS AS USA CARES. SO I HOPE THAT AN INVESTIGATION IN USA COULD OBLIGE FORD OF BRAZIL MAKE THE REPAIRS TO FUSIONS SOLD HERE AS WELL. I WILL INPUT AN ADDRESS OF RELATIVES WHO LIVE IN SAN FRANCISCO. MY FRIEND ARON WAS HAVING AN EMERGENCY WHEN WOKE UP AT 4:00AM TO COME TO HIS HELP. AFTER WAKING UP WITH A REDBULL ,I WAS THEN HEADING TO THE HOUSE AT WICH ARON LIVES . I WAS UNFORTUNATELY AN TO MY SURPRISE . LOST COMPLETE CONTROL OF MY 2016 FORD FUSION THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. AS DID THE TIRES . AND TO MY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE OF THIS CAR IN MOTION THEN ACCELERATED TO 40 MILES AN HOUR . I WAS COMPLETELY HELPLESS AS TO REDIRECT THE CAR IN MOTION TO A SAFE PATH . I REMEMBER THE FUSION WAS AIRBORNE AFTER I WAS OFF THE ROAD HITTING A DITCH . THE FORD FLIPPED UPSIDE DOWN. I SUSTAINED HEAD INJURIES AND BACK AN AS WELL. MY ARM WAS CUTT UP BAD. IM NOW LIVING WITH THESE SCARS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.
The same issue with the backup camera as the other vehicles in current recall. The 2016 Ford Fusion should be on that list as well.
