I took my car to the Ford dealer today for a oil change and was told that the lug nuts were defective and had to be replaced. They charged me $237.40 to replaced them. I have a extended warranty and they told me they were not cover under this warranty. Checking on line I find there is a large number of vehicle that have the same problem with the same lug nuts. Why is not a recall on these lug nuts.

Turned off 2017 Ford Fusion SE 1.5l and received a msg: shift says fault - service soon. Car kept telling me it was not in park even though it did turn off. Placed wheel blocks behind the wheels because it was "parked" at an angle. I can't understand how the 2017 is excluded from the previous years recalls for the shift bushing issue. After checking the bushing, the car did start but will not shift.

1. Vehicle went into "limp mode" while driving on the highway. 2. Safety was at risk - Starting slowing down immediately in rush hour traffic. Could not accelerate. Pulled onto shoulder. 3. Dealer could not reproduce. 4. Not inspected by manufacturer, police, or insurance. 5. No warning lamps lit prior to incident. Vehicle running normally prior to incident. Restarted the car and issue was no longer present.
As I put the car in reverse it shifted really hard and then a warning light came on and told me to check the manual. Upon checking the manual I found it’s the Powertrain Indicator. The car is still driveable but skips and shutters when picking up speed to shift gears. It also hesitates like it wants to stop. I almost stalled out in the middle of the road multiple times while trying to make it back home. The manufacturer was contacted and I was told my particular vehicle was not under the recall. They offered no further assistance.
My 2017 Ford Fusion started have problems with shifting from different gears. After a week of small shifting issues, it would not shift into second gear. Launched into second gear from first very fast. Then it wouldn’t shift at all for awhile, then slowly worked between gears. Ford said it is the Torque converter and isn’t covered by recall. Sounds very close and fishy to me. It was made at the Hermosillo Ford plant and less than a month past the recall for this same issue out of this plant for this year make and model. Ford said there is nothing they can do. New transmission is 12 weeks out due to part shortage.

I have a 2.0L engine with a 6-speed engine. My daughter was on the highway going about 60mph and her car started shaking very badly and eventually shut off. It turns out that it does in fact have something to do with her studs not being welded correctly, and her transmission mounts failed causing the engine and transmission to move rapidly under the hood of her car not being held in place.
Which drive home from work one day when my brakes just gave out. Prior to my brakes given out in August. My brakes begin to feel loose. Brakes failed due to loss of brake fluid. Luckily I found a puddle under the car and was not driving at the time. This is identical to what is listed for similar Ford Edge & MKX vehicles under recall 20s42 . Independent goodyear repair shop fixed today for over $400 in repairs.
My vehicle had been experiencing overheating issues for several years. This would cause my car to go into limp mode making it dangerous for me and other cars around me to have to go around me. This issue is related to a manufacturing defect caused by the design of the motor cooling system. As a result of this defect I had to pay $8k+ to have this car repaired with a new engine. I am thankful no one was hurt or killed as a result of this defect. It could have caused my car to start on fire. Ford needs to take responsibility for this issue.
All right, so I have a little bit of bad news for you, so we hooked up a code reader to the car. And there were a couple of misfires. So there's a cylinder to misfire a cylinder or a random misfire detected, a cylinder 3, misfire a cylinder one misfire. So our service advisor thinks that it's probably not an issue with a coolant. An issue with the head gasket, and he would recommend that that gets replaced. And he said, at some point, you might need to replace the entire engine.

The vehicle was safely stopped and shifted into park. The contact stated that the "Service Required" warning light was illuminated. The contact had the vehicle towed to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the brake pads and hoses needed to be replaced. The vehicle had been repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V162000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) and related the brake failure to the recall. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.
I was driving my 2017 Ford Fusion it lost power to the engine. The car just revs when you hit the gas, the transmission failed. I was nearly ran off the road on route 95 back in July 2022, thank goodness I made it to the shoulder. I had my car towed to Ford service center and was made aware of the recall on the torque converter, also was informed that my vehicle isn’t a part of the recall. I find it very odd that my car has been doing everything that the recall is explaining.
On July 21, 2022 I was driving my 2017 Ford Fusion I was driving on route 95 when my car started to over rev and began shaking, then I lost complete engine power. I nearly getting ran off the road from the cars behind me. Thank goodness I was in the right-hand lane when this incident happened. I had my 2017 Ford Fusion towed to Purvis Ford service center in Fredericksburg Virginia. The tech called me letting me know that my torque converter has failed and needs to be fixed. The cost was going to be $6,250 plus $200 diagnosis fee. I was made aware of the recall on the Fusions torque converter failure. I was told my Vin number isn't a part of the recall. I believe my car needs to be a part of this recall everything stated in the recall description my vehicle had done. What do I need to do to continue to get my vin number on this national recall.
Driving vehicle, Steering Assist Fault light comes on, steering wheel locks and vehicle becomes very difficult to operate. Locally, Ford dealership will not inspect as they will not take any calls in the service department. This is the second time this has happened to this vehicle. Vehicle has been previously taken to dealership, to which dealer was “unable to diagnose issue.” Vehicle was subsequently repaired, as an independent service center was able to diagnose issue and repair. Vehicle drove well for 4 months until today, when second incident occurred. In this situation, other vehicles on the road were in danger as I was unable to turn from turning lane, driving into outer tuning lane, almost striking another vehicle. Luckily, I had slowed down enough for vehicle to drive passed me without incident. There is something inherently wrong with the 2017 Fusion’s Power rack and Pinion Gear, and I implore Ford to do the right thing and look into this matter, as this issue is ongoing and widespread.
The transmission failed AGAIN... the Original transmission failed at 75,106 miles and Ford would not replace it even though it was in the batch flagged as having a Transmission issue (assembled in Mexico with my VIN in the range). I filed a report like this for that one as well. I ended up having to pay $4,700 out of pocket the first time. This next time, the replacement transmission failed at 99,108 miles but this time was covered by the replacement transmission warranty (3yr unlimited mileage)
Engine dash light keeps coming on. A mechanic check engine number and printed TSB19-2346: 2.0L EcoBoost Ana says it’s under recall. But Ford dealerships around me refuse to do anything about it it. The error message is saying 2nd cylinder miss fire. Coolant keeps going low and car started to shut itself down.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, coolant entered the engine and the engine overheated. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle lost motive power and stalled in a construction area. The contact refilled the coolant reservoir and drove to his residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 181,000.
While driving the vehicle the vehicle stalls or stops when attempting to shift to either reverse or drive. An alert comes on indicating shifter issues then vehicle was inoperable. Had to call for a wrecker to have it towed due to the issue. Left us stranded in a parking lot away from home. Local certified mechanic advised it was bushings, shifter cable to the transmission that went bad on the vehicle. He said there was a recent recall from Ford, so I contacted Ford by phone. I was told that my vehicle even though it is the exact same recall from Ford issue with my car, my VIN number was not included into the recall by Ford. I'm having to repair my car on my own at my cost.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving on a local roadway at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into drive(D) or reverse(R). The contact stated that an unknown warning light was illuminated. The contact called and had the vehicle towed to his son's residence. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic to be diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 69,000.
Stopped vehicle at a drive though and put in in park. Afterword would not shift into drive, only in reverse. Had to back all the way through a parking lot to find a safe place to try to park as not to be in the way of other vehicles. Fortunately, at the time no one was parked behind me. after turning off the car, it would not start again and had to have the vehicle towed to a dealership for repair. There is a recall on many Ford vehicles for this exact same issue due to a shift cable bushing, but for some reason not on this particular vehicle. No warning lights appeared before the issue, only after I killed the car and tried to restart it.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that when the vehicle was started, the contact stated there was an abnormal amount of white smoke coming from the exhaust tips. The contact stated that the failure was persistent. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000.
The shift bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission has degraded then subsequently detached in the past in 2021. In 2022 after the shift bushing was replaced, it has now degraded again (without detaching yet) causing the vehicle to be stuck in reverse or drive after shifting vehicle. This has caused me on multiple occasions to place the vehicle in reverse to backup into the roadway and become stuck without the ability to shift the vehicle out of reverse. The only way to correct it was to turn off the vehicle to force it into park then start the car to place it into drive. This same thing occurred in the previous time before it detached. Being stuck in the roadway without the ability to shift is very dangerous. This is all due to having a 3 dollar shift bushing degrade over time. I hope FORD takes this seriously and replaces this shift bushing with a safer alternative.
The APIM in the vehicle is malfunctioning causing a constant drain on the 12v battery system. I brought the car to Ford and they said it is a common issue with the APIM malfunctioning, they quoted me 1800 to change the APIM which i can not afford. I was driving to work and my car smelled like rotten eggs, I started feeling nauseous and light headed. When I got to work I opened my trunk to get my backpack and noticed the smell was really strong in the trunk and was coming from the 12v battery. I touched the battery and it was scorching hot. After some research I found out that the rotten egg smell was the battery producing hydrogen sulfide gas which can be fatal. I believe an investigation should be opened to look into this for if I passed out behind the wheel from the gas myself and others would have been at risk of injury or death.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while shifting the vehicle into drive(D), the vehicle shifted into park(P) and the “Shift System Fault” and "Service Required" messages were displayed on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The contact stated that the gear shifter bushing had deteriorated. The vehicle was not diagnosed; however, the contact had purchased the bushing. The manufacturer was contacted but provided no assistance. The manufacturer referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 76,872.
Transmission failure while driving causing a safety issue for myself and others while immobilized in traffic. While stopped at a red light on a highway, my car failed to move forward when pressing the gas. There were no warning lights. Eventually after several tries the car lurched forward. A warning light finally came on when I reached my destination a mile away. The car was taken to a dealer who diagnosed transmission failure. The car has 63K miles on it and now requires a 5K repair to the transmission. The vehicle is still not repaired due to parts shortages.
Vehicle constantly has 12v battery dying. Replaced with new battery and same thing 12v battery keeps dying. Hooked up my current meter to the car and it is constantly drawing 11amps from the battery. Pulled fuses until the current draw stopped and issues is coming from the APIM. I also did some research into the issue and it appears a lot of people are having the same issue where the APIM is not shutting off. How has there not been a recall on this yet? This can be dangerous if you can't start your car and your stuck in a snow storm for example.
Both driver & passenger break line hoses have had to be replaced at only 56k miles. There was no corrosion on the hose, nor any wear & tear. There was a lengthwise split in the rubber exterior of the hose and breakdown of the interior braided hose which lead to break fluid leaks. Occurred on both driver & passenger front hoses.
As I was driving my shifter cable bushing came off in the parking lot and my cable came loose. I couldn’t switch gears and I had to shut off my car. It put my car into automatic parking brake but I checked under the hood and my shifter linkage was detached and the bushing was missing. Had this happened on the open road it could’ve caused a wreck.these bushings are made poorly.

Steering wheel wobbles and is loose. Can pivot up, or right / left about an inch. NOT a rotational loose (like worn bushings). Pivot point is right behind the wheel itself, as if it was the bolt that is part of other recalls (but 'not applicable' to my VIN???). Only 33k miles on car. 2017 year Fusion. Taking to dealer to "fix" today. Issue noticed during light morning commute on 5/18/2022 No other inspection to date. No warning lamps, messages, or other notices, now, or prior.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated upon reversing out of the garage, he shifted from reverse (D) to drive (D), but the vehicle failed to respond. An unknown warning light was illuminated. The contact was able to push the back vehicle into the driveway with assistance. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the failure was associated with the transmission shifter cable bushing. The contact purchased a transmission shifter bushing rubber from an unknown dealer and replaced the part himself. Additionally, the contact replaced the battery of the vehicle as the failure had drained the battery. The contact was able to drive the vehicle. However, the failure reoccurred. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the key fob battery, the vehicle battery, and the transmission cable bushing had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The failure mileage was unknown.
