I have a 2017 Ford Fusion bought in June 2020. (No warranty) Oct 2020 the Transmission went out. I REPLACED IT. August 2021 the Wrench came on and was giving code P0302 cylinder 2 was misfiring. Changed all the spark plugs and coils except #2 because the was stuck or stripped. 5 people and Ford dealership (they wanted to much) tried to get it out (no luck) took it to a shop they got it out but had to re thread it. It drove fine. THEN one day I'm driving and my car literally started over heating and said I was low on coolant pulled over and let it cool down gave it more coolant. Drove it like nothing to see here. Everything was fine, SO I THOUGHT 1 week later it did the same thing but the coolant kept running out and my car immediately started to blow out smoke actually turned off before i could pull over in the middle of the freeway (extremely dangerous) for everyone called. I took the car back to the mechanic and told him what was wrong and this dude said I blew the engine I need a new one. WTF! HOW? Gave me a quote for $4900. #Ford you need to do a EFFIN recall bruh how is literally everyone going through the same gd problem? ITS a malfunction with Ford. Then to find out that Ford has a faulty built engine block that allows coolant to leake over to spark plug #2, #3 causing them to misfire, knowing it will cause problems for the consumer is down right evil disgusting and dishonest. People are spending hard earned money on these cars getting loans, to get reliable working cars to take car of our families. only to have the car stop working at no fault of our our own. I HATE Ford for this warranty or not yall knew this was happening to these 1.5 EB engines And I know there's lawsuits out there for this. I'm definitely looking into that
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the vehicle would intermittently hesitate upon depression of the accelerator pedal without warning while in either in the drive (D) or reverse (R). The contact initially took the vehicle to a dealer where she was informed that there were no recalls associated with the VIN and was offered no assistance. The contact then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where an extensive diagnostic test was performed and it was discovered that the torque converter had failed and needed to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 17V427000 (Power Train) which she linked to the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that her vehicle was not included in the recall; she was then referred to the NHTSA for assistance. The vehicle had been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000. ADDED COMMENT: Before the complete break of the transmission, I was noticing some hesitation with changing gears and going dead from a stop. Going down a hill on coast the back of the car made a roaring sound. At these moments, the car gear shift would be slightly hard to turn to park or drive. The transmission would also seem to slip. NOTE: The actual odometer was 189293 when the issue happened and repaired. Even though this was not on the recall list, it should be added because I experienced the same issue with my transmission as the others. I have attached my invoice for the repair. Not included are the 2 prior wrecker bills from having it towed to my house, and then had it towed to Lonnie Cobb's Ford for repair, which the car sat for weeks with no repair. Third wrecker bill is included on the Repair Invoice. from Clement Automatic Transmissions. THE CONSUMER STATED BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION FAILED, THERE WAS HESISTATION WHEN SWITCHING GEARS. THE VEHICLE WOULD DIE FROM A STOP. WHEN DRIVING DOWN HILL THE VEHICLE WOULD MAKE A ROARING SOUND. THE CONSUMER BELIEVED THE VEHICLE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, AS IT DISPLAYED THE SAME FAILURE DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL NOTICE. AT THE THE TIME OF THE FAILURE AND REPAIR THE ODOMETER READ 189293.
Timing cover oil leak. Dealer said this is a know issue on Ford Fusions, but warranty expired at 60,000. My vehicle has 69,902 miles. $2,800 repair estimate.

The failure mileage was approximately 94,561.
Lug nuts on 2017 Ford Fusion SE swollen/distorted and very difficult to remove from tire. It is available for inspection upon request. There is potential for safety risk due to driving with these damaged lug nuts as one may break, causing the added weight to shift to the other lug nuts, breaking them as well and worst case scenario my wheels comes off while I’m driving. Problem was identified/presented itself during the process of attempting to get state inspection when car failed for rear brakes and independent service member was trying to charge $300 to replace, attempted to change out brakes on own as well as through personal mechanic, which is when true problem with lug nuts came to fruition. Even unable to take them off with included lug removal tool that came with car as well as universal lug wrench. Now in the process of going to get lug nuts inspected, extracted and replaced via professional, independent service center. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and the issue first appeared on August 14, 2021.

The light keeps going on and off to check engine and there is a code for misfire in cylinder 2 and I had the spark plugs change and had the coil packs check and also constantly filling the antifreeze up my mechanic says to call Ford because of the issue that was posted and I tried but they are giving me run around and saying there’s nothing out there for this problem but there is and I only had the car 3 years and less that 60k on it what do I do now to fix it

There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 35,000.
Cracked Flexplate on 2.0L EcoBoost motor. Apparently this is a common issue on those Ford motors and it is not a recall, what I think it should be once it is a manufacturing defect and a repair will cost about 4K.
The engine overheated with no warning. The first time this happened was in traffic, and luckily the warning quickly went away. It seemed like a bug or maybe a faulty thermometer. Then it started running rough on startup and I noticed the coolant was empty. White smoke from the tailpipe. It was affected by the coolant intrusion TSB 19-2346, confirmed by the dealer. No CEL or other malfunction indicator besides the overheat warning. As the car was out of warranty at 80k miles, I was made to pay $3k (normally $8k) for a new engine.
My 2017 Ford Fusion 2.0L AWD with ~ 70k mileage car started to show an acceleration hesitation when starting from a stop on Thursday and Friday of the week. The following Monday morning, my car would start to vibrate when at a stop sign or traffic light when in drive. Over the following couple days, the vibration became excessive to the point that the car would vibrate excessively and stall if left in Drive when at a stop. When one is at a stop and puts the car into Park, the engine RPM's immediately surge and then settle down to a normal RPM. There were no warning lamps or messages on the dash. I took the car to my local Meineke on Friday of the same week and they determined that it was a Torque Converter issue and that is something that they could not do. I then took the car to my the nearest Ford Dealership in which they confirmed that the Torque Converter was indeed the issue. They said that they did get Warnings from their obd reader but there are still no warning lamps on the dash. The Ford Dealership filed a claim with Ford as a Torque Converter and/or Transmission are a known issue at this time. My car is the same model year, made at the same factory in the same assembly time as a known recall. My issue is similar to Recall no. 17V427000, but not exactly the same yet. Reference: https://auto-recalls.justia.com/ford/fusion/2017/17v427000/ I drove the following few days while waiting for Ford's approval to proceed with the repair/replacement but now feel the car sporadically surge at highway speeds and it's getting more noticeable over time. Ford declined my car for a recall. If one Googles the same model and issue, there are a LOT of people with the same issue around the same mileage. I'm continuing to hesitantly drive as I need to get to/from work. I'm proceeding with getting the Torque Converter/Transmission replaced via the Ford Dealership at at a cost of ~ $5k as I have no other options at this time.
Have had engine light on for months, have taken it in to be fixed and finally I was told it is from coolant intrusion into the cylinder 3 that i would need a new engine. Ford refused to fix it because it has 80k miles on it (bought it used at 56k) I have an extended warranty through the place i boughr it but its been weeks waiting on their decision to fix it or not. 6k to fix a car ive had less than 2 years and this is a know. issue, so well known the warranty place is only allowing new engines to approved cases and the new engines are the same price as rhe rebuilt ones!! Ford knows rhis is an issue, every mechanic i have spoke to knows this is an issue, theres service bulletins but no recall on the 2.0l ecoboost, just the 1.5.. why? Im told recalls dont hit til over a million people are affected or complain? how messed up is that?? meanwhile people like me who have not had the car long either pay or are out a car. Ps there is a class action lawsuit against ford for the 2.0 l so if you own a fusion maybe look into joining! i know i am!!!
The passenger side front brake line failed with no warning. The brake pedal went to the floor, and the fluid warning light do not illuminate. Immediately contacted the dealer that had replaced the driver side brake line a few months earlier, after verifying that the inside wheel well was coated wihgt brake fluid. The dealer took it the next day and confirmed the failure and replaced the brake line that they had inspected 3 months earlier.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that upon shifting his gear lever into drive(D), the gears began to blink as the "system shift fault" warning light illuminated. The contact was able to move the vehicle into reverse(R); however, the shifter had become stuck in reverse. After the contact was able to place the vehicle into the park(P), he towed the vehicle to a dealer where they informed him that the shifter cable bushing needed to be replaced. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 52,000.
Was driving my cat and it popped up shift system fault. I couldn't move my car. It stalled in the middle of the road. I contacted several people about this. Found out the shifter cable came loose from the transmission. The clamp that hold its on was gone.i happened to just backed up and this happened. If this was to happen driving this could have resulted in a serious accident

The contact took the vehicle to the local dealer where it was diagnosed with needing the engine to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired but was pending repairs. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 93,000.
Brakes failed - low brake fluid light came on - upon startup - putting vehicle in gear multiple warning lights came on - brake pedal went all the way to the floor - reduced stopping capability - an accident waiting to happen Dealership replaced 3 of 4 brake hoses; two hoses had bubbles and the third had ruptured A day earlier brakes were spongy
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while the vehicle was park(P), the instrument panel indicated that the transmission was in drive(D). Due to the failure, the contact's husband called for a tow; however, the tow truck driver was able to instruct her husband over the phone on how to correct the failure. Once the vehicle was able to be driven, the contact's husband called the dealer where he was informed about the defect. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the defective part was replaced. Approximately six months later, the same failure recurred while the vehicle was in neutral(N) but the instrument panel showed the vehicle in park(P). The contact's husband was able to perform the same repair to correct the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
After driving on the highway approximately 30 miles I came to a stop sign. Stopped and went to accurate again, car shifted so hard it felt like someone rear ended me. Got to the next stop sign not even a quarter mile down the road. Stopped began to accelerate and it happened again. Continued my trek onto the freeway, car drive fine, shifted gears fine. After about an hour on the freeway I came into traffic, stopped, began to accelerate again and the same thing happened. This time my car began to violently shake. I pulled over to the side of the road. The wrench icon popped up on my dash. I shut the vehicle off. After sometime attempted to start the vehicle again to see if I could limp it to the next exit, vehicle continued shaking violently. Had to have vehicle towed off the road. Currently waiting to get it into a Ford deal ship for diagnostic. Car is still inoperable. Consumer had it diagnosed by a Ford dealership who confirmed it is an internal manufacturer failure. Vehicle was manufactured in April 2017 and the recall is for cars manufactured May 2017- June 2017. Consumer contacted the Ford company asking for help, but no help was offered.
My car has 77,116 miles. The check engine light came on. Took it to the dealership. Engine was blown. Coolant intrusion into #2 cylinder. The engine had to be replaced. According to the dealership this is a known problem with this engine fords aware but not recalling it. Looked online and a ton of exact same complaints
check engine light on with misfire code reading. replaced plugs, coil packs, replaced again by dealer, now it is eating antifreeze, adding it every few days, heat doesnt work when needed. today it notified that it was over temperature, so pulled over and added more antifreeze.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving 15 mph, the front driver’s side tire became flat. The contact attempted to change the tire but was unable to remove the lug nuts. The contact called AAA however, roadside assistance was also unable to remove the lug nuts. The contact stated that the lug nuts were swollen due to the heat. The vehicle was then towed to a local dealer. The mechanic removed the lug nuts and repaired the tire. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 32,528.
MY 2017 FUSION, WITH ECOBOOST ENGINE BEGAN USING COOLANT, REPLACED SPARK PLUG IN 2ND CYLINDER AND CONTINUALLY HAVE TO ADD COOLANT TO KEEP CAR FROM OVERHEATING. CAR SHUT DOWN AND OVERHEATED ON WAY HOME FROM WORK. ADDED EVEN MORE COOLANT. FORD NOW TELLS ME WE HAVE TO HAVE A NEW ENGINE AND WE ARE OUT OF WARRANTY SINCE CAR HAS 80K MILES ON IT. $5900 NEW ENGINE BECAUSE A KNOWN ISSUE HASN'T BEEN ADDRESSED BY FORD TO MAKE IT RIGHT.
The contact owns a 2011 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a parts store for the vehicle to be diagnosed. The contact was informed of a cylinder misfire on cylinder #2. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic to be repaired however, the failure persisted. The contact took the vehicle back to the mechanic who replaced three additional cylinders however, the repairs failed to fix the vehicle. The mechanic diagnosed the failure as a coolant leakage into the cylinder but could not repair the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 129,000.
VEHICLE HAD 62579 MILES WHEN IT THREW A P1299 CODE FOR ENGINE OVERHEAT. FORD CHECKED AND SAID THE ENGINE WAS LEAKING COOLANT INTO THE CYLINDERS AND IT'S A COMMON PROBLEM ON THE 1.5 L ECO BOOST ENGINE AS PER TSB 20-2100. THEY ALSO SAID IT'S OUT OF WARRANTY DUE TO BEING OVER 60000 MILES. FROM RESEARCH IT LOOKS LIKE FORD HAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THIS ENGINE AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO STAND BEHIND IT AND FIX IT AS THEY SHOULD.

Next day out to the store and pulling left onto a main street 6 lanes wide heard a pop and the brake pedal fell was gone. Front left brake hose popped. Got it home had to change it out at night. Not but three weeks later pulling into the garage I almost ran into the wall. After the pedal went to the floor again. This time it was the front right hose.

CAR LOST ALL POWER WHILE DRIVING
OUR 3 YEAR OLD VEHICLE, WHICH HAS ONLY BEEN SERVICED BY OUR LOCAL FORD DEALER AND HAS LESS THAN 50,000 MILES ON IT, REQUIRED THE LUG NUTS TO BE REPLACED ON ALL WHEELS BECAUSE OF SWELLING, CREATING A DANGEROUS CONDITION FOR THE CAR. I UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM TO BE CAUSED DO TO POOR ENGINEERING BY FORD BY COMBINING SEVERAL METALS TOGETHER WHEN CREATING EACH LUG NUT THAT OVER TIME FAIL. THESE LUG NUTS SHOULD E RECALLED AND REPLACED AT THE DEALERS COST BY A REPLACEMENT THAT CAN WITHSTAND NORMAL OPERATION.
I HAVE A 2017 FORD FUSION TITANIUM WITH THE 2.0L ECOBOOST ENGINE THAT HAS 72,890 MILES. I EXPERIENCED ROUGH IDLE FOR ABOUT A WEEK THEN MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I HAD THE ENGINE LIGHT CHECKED AND SHOWED THE CODE P0302 WHICH IS A MISFIRE IN CYLINDER 2. WHEN I PROCEEDED TO LEAVE THE PLACE OF BUSINESS WHERE I HAD THE LIGHT CHECKED WHITE SMOKE CAME OUT OF MY EXHAUST UPON START UP AND WAS STILL COMING OUT BY THE TIME I DROVE HOME. I PROCEEDED TO DO MY RESEARCH OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS FOLLOWING AND FOUND OUT IT IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND FORD WILL ONLY COVER IF UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH IT HAPPENS OUTSIDE THE WARRANTY TIME FRAME JUST AS MUCH AS WITH IN THE WARRANTY WINDOW. I PROCEEDED TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND A DIAGNOSTIC DONE AND THEY SAID THAT EVERYTHING I STATED ABOVE IS EXACTLY THE ISSUE ALONG WITH THE PCM SELF-TEST SHOWING P0217 ENGINE OVER TEMPERATURE CONDITION WAS DETECTED, AND THE ENGINE LONG BLOCK ASSEMBLY DOES HAVE TO BE REPLACED.NOTHING SHOWED UP ON MY DASH TO WARN ME OF OVERHEATING OR ANYTHING OF THE NATURE. ONLY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT APPEARED.
