I HAVE A 2017 FUSION REMOTE START AND I'VE BEEN TOLD I NEED TO REPLACE MY ENGINE DUE TO COOLANT LEAKING INTO THE CYLINDERS/ENGINE.CAR STALLS ON THE HIGHWAY AND WON'T GO OVER 20 MILES THEN IT KICKS BACK UP. SMOKE COMING OUT OF TAIL PIPE
COOLANT LEAK ENGINE, NEEDS NEW ENGINE. THE CAR HAS 83,000 MILES ON IT. *TR
MY VEHICLE START STALLING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN THE CAR SLOWED DOWN AND WOULDN'T GO OVER 25MILES ON THE INTERSTATE AND I ALMOST GOT HIT BY OTHER VEHICLES TRYING TO PASS ME. I WAS CLOSE TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP SO I DECIDED TO GO THERE. NOT LONG AFTER THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE STARTS TO GO UP. ONCE L ARRIVED AT THE FORD DEALER WHERE I ALWAYS GO FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF MY VEHICLE AND AFTER 3HRS I WAS ASKED IF THEY COULD KEEP MY CAR OVERNIGHT TO DO A COOLANT CHECK. I SAID YES AND THE NEXT DAY I WAS TOLD THAT THE CODE 301 WAS A SPARK PLUG THAT NEEDED TO BE CHANGED BUT THAT WASN'T THE PROBLEM. I HAVE A COOLANT LEAK AND ITS LEAKING IN MY ENGINE AND THAT IS THE PROBLEM. OVERALL I NEED A NEED ENGINE AND THE CAR IS ONLY 2 1/2 YEARS OLD. FORD WOULD NOT HELP WITH THE PROBLEM.
SHIFT DIAL GET STUCK IN PARK, WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK EVEN WITH THE OVERRIDE, HAVE HAD IT LOOKED AT TWICE, BOTH TIMES THERE WAS "NO PROBLEMS," AND THE SHOP ALWAYS IT WORKS WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DROPS IT OFF. IT HAPPENS ON AND OFF, NEVER GIVES AN ERROR MESSAGE OR THROWS A CODE. COULD BE DRIVING ONE MINUTE, GET HOME, SHUT THE CAR OFF, A COUPLE HOURS LATER GET BACK IN, AND IT DOESN'T SHIFT ANYMORE. IT'S EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT AND CONSIDERING THE FORD DEALERSHIP SAYS "THIS HAPPENS A LOT" I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DON'T RECALL THE FAULTY CABLE OR RELAY OR TRANSMISSION OR SHIFT DIAL IF IT HAPPENS ALL THE TIME, BECAUSE AFTER TAKING IT TO 3 DIFFERENT SHOPS, THEY ALL HAVE NO ANSWER TO THE ISSUE, JUST TO "DEAL WITH IT". AND THE FACT THAT THE OVERRIDE DOESN'T WORK IS A BIG PROBLEM. BUT FORD DOES THEIR THING AND I GUESS WON'T RECALL SOMETHING THEY KNOW IS A PROBLEM ON MANY OF THEIR 2017 FORD FUSION SE'S EVEN THOUGH IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE BUT I GUESS THAT'S FORD, MORE ABOUT PUMPING CRAP CARS OUT THAN THEY ARE WORRIED ABOUT MAKING THEM SAFE WHEN THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURS ON MULTIPLE 2017 FORD FUSIONS.
BACKUP CAMERA ONLY PERFORMS ABOUT 50% OF THE TIME THE IMAGE APPEARS DISTORTED OR NOT SHOW AT ALL WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN REVERSE. THIS HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE JULY 2020. THERE IS NEVER ANY SPECIFIC MOMENTS THAT CAUSE THE CAMERA TO NOT PERFORM SUCH AS TYPE OF ROADS DRIVEN DOWN, THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES, WEATHER OR TIME OF DAY, IT IS JUST OCCURS SPORADICALLY.
WAS GOING TO LEAVE WORK IN APRIL AND MY FUSION COULD NOT START. BOUGHT AND REPLACED MY BATTERY. TRAVELED TO GA TO VISIT A FAMILY MEMBER. WENT TO DRIVE TO THE STORE TO PICK UP SOME GROCERIES AND AGAIN MY FUSION WILL NOT START. HAVE TO BUY YET ANOTHER BATTERY. FORD PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE!!! *TR
CAR BEGAN LOSING POWER UPHILL, AND EVEN PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR DID NOT HELP. HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP WAS REPLACED AT A FORD DEALERSHIP, BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUED, AND GOT WORSE. EVENTUALLY HAD TO BE TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP, WHERE THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM ENOUGH TO GET HOME, ALTHOUGH HILLS REMAINED AN ISSUE (CRUISE CONTROL WAS SET TO 70, AND EVEN THE SMALLEST HILL WOULD CAUSE THE CAR TO SLOW TO AROUND 40-45 MPH). CAR CURRENTLY IS SITTING IN MY DRIVEWAY BECAUSE I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. IT MIGHT STALL OUT IN TRAFFIC.
MY CAR WAS PURCHASED ABOUT 1 1/2 YEARS AGO AS A CERTIFIED PREOWNED FROM SHEEHY FORD IN ASHLAND, VA. SINCE THEN THE BATTERY HAS BEGUN DRAINING FOR NO REASON WHEN THE CAR IS SITTING STILL. I WENT TO LEAVE WORK A FEW MONTHS AGO AND THERE WAS NOTHING LEFT ON IN THE VEHICLE. WHEN I GOT IN TO GO HOME I WAS UNABLE TO START MY VEHICLE. THIS HAPPENED AGAIN TO ME LAST WEEK AFTER MAKING A TRIP TO GA TO VISIT FAMILY. I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE BACK TO VA FROM GA WITHOUT PURCHASING ANOTHER BATTERY. MY UNCLE WHO WORKS ON VEHICLES, HOOKED MY FUSION UP TO A DIAGNOSTIC MACHINE AFTER TAKING OUT VARIOUS FUSES AND THE CAR STILL HAD A VERY HIGH DRAIN ON MY BATTERY. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS ON THE INTERNET AND IT SEEMS TO BE A STANDING ISSUE WITH SEVERAL FORD FUSION OWNERS. FORD NEED TO ISSUE A RECALL AND FIX THIS ISSUE. HAVING DRIVERS STRANDED ON THE ROAD IS NEVER GOOD. IF I COULD I WOULD RETURN THIS VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND PURCHASE ANOTHER VEHICLE NOT FROM FORD. *TR
BATTERY CONTINUES TO DRAIN AND VEHICLE CONTINUES TO NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS DEAD TWICE IN OCT AND NOV. IN DECEMBER BATTERY REPLACEMENT. HAS BEEN TO DEALERSHIP 2 MORE TIMES SINCE WITH DEAD BATTERY. THE PROBLEM DOES NOT WANT TO BE FIXED BY FORD. THEY CONTINUE TO JUST JUMP IT AND SAY IT'S OK. *TR
WHEN REENTERING THE CAR AFTER A GROCERY SHOPPING TRIP, THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR WOULD CLOSE BUT NOT LATCH. THE CATCH FOR THE LATCH MOVES FREELY BUT SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO SECURE THE DOOR FAILED. MY HUSBAND TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO SECURE THE DOOR SO WE COULD LEAVE THE PARKING LOT AND DRIVE HOME. ULTIMATELY, BECAUSE IT IS A HOT, SUNDAY AFTERNOON, HE OPTED TO SIT IN THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT AND MOVED OUR TEEN DAUGHTER TO THE FRONT SEAT SO HE COULD HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED ON OUR DRIVE HOME. WE MADE IT HOME WITHOUT INCIDENT AND HE TRIED SEVERAL MORE TIMES ONCE THE CAR WAS PARKED TO SECURE THE DOOR PROPERLY WITHOUT SUCCESS.
THE ELECTRIC CHARGER THAT PLUGS INTO THE 120V WALL OUTLET IS OVER HEATING ON EVERY CHARGE. STARTED HAPPENING WITHIN THE LAST MONTH. *TR

THURSDAY 6/11/20 ABOUT 7PM I WAS TRYING TO BACK OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY AND THE EMERGENCY BREAK JUST CAME ON AND THE CAR WOULDN'T DRIVE ANYMORE COME TO FIND OUT IT WAS THE SHIFT LINK BUSHING. ALMOST CAUSED ME TO WRECK WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC DUE TO THE SUDDEN STOP. I TOOK IT TO RUSTY ECK FORD IN WICHITA KS TODAY 6/12/20 AND GOT IT FIXED. THEY MADE MENTION THAT THIS HAS BEEN COMMON WITH OTHER FUSIONS SO I FIGURED I SHOULD REPORT THIS ISSUE TODAY. *TR
THE CAR STALLED A FEW TIMES WIHILE ON MY WAY HOME WITH NO WARNING HAD TO RESTART THE VEHICLE SO AS I NEEDED TO ACCELERATE OR SLOW DOWN THE VEHICLE WOULD START SHUDDER AND JERK AS IT FELT LIKE IT WAS SLIPPING OUT OF GEAR NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. I HAD TO HAVE VEHICLE TOWED TO MY HOUSE LOOKED UP ISSUES IT SAID IT MAY BE TRANSMISSION SO THEN I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A INDEPENDENT MECHANIC BUSINESS AND WAS INFORMED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO A FORD DEALER THAT THERE WERE 2 RECALLS ASSOCIATED WITH MY VEHICLE THE RECALLS WERE THROUGH THE NHTSA VEHICLE SAFETY REPORTS. (POWER TRAIN) AND (TORQUE CONVERTER). HOWEVER MY VEHICLE WAS THE 1.5 VERSION AND WAS HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEMS AS THE 2.1 VERSION BEING COVERED THROUGH THE VEHICLE RECALLS. SINCE MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED I DID NOT HAVE IT REPAIRED. THEY INCLUDED BOTH ISSUES IN THE QUOTE WAS OVER 6000 DOLLARS BUT LESS IF ONE OF THE PROBLEM. THIS WAS IN JUNE/2020 and the car had 97 k miles on it.
INTERNAL COOLANT LEAK IN 2.0L FORD FUSION SE ECOBOOST CAUSED MY CAR'S ENGINE TO LOCK WITHOUT WARNING. NO START. CURRENTLY, THERE EXISTS PROGRAM 19B37 FOR 1.5L. MY 2.0L FORD FUSION SE ECOBOOST PRESENTED THE EXACT INTERNAL COOLANT LEAKAGE PROBLEM AS THAT OF THE 1.5L THAT IS PRESENTLY ON RECALL. MY PREVIOUS SPARK PLUGS CONFIRM THAT COOLANT HAS LEAKED INTO THE ENGINE OF MY CAR. ALSO, A COOLANT PRESSURE TEST WILL REVEAL COOLANT LEAK IS INTERNAL IN MY CAR. BIG STAR FORD CONFIRMED THAT MY ENGINE IS LOCKED AND THAT IT WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. THEY DON'T WANT TO PAY FOR DAMAGE. I'M A PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE OWNER AND ONLY BUY OEM PARTS. I ALSO HAVE AN ENGINEERING BACKGROUND. THIS INTERNAL COOLANT ISSUE IS CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT. BECAUSE THE ISSUE STEMS FROM AN INTERNAL COOLANT LEAK CAUSING ENGINE FAILURE, 2.0L SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM 19B37 RECALL. IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. ON A SIDE NOTE, I HAD PREVIOUSLY TAKEN MY CAR TO BIG STAR FORD BECAUSE THERE WERE PROBLEMS WITH THE PCM. TIRES WERE SHOWING TO BE DEFLATING AS I DROVE ON THE FREEWAY. I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED AT THE NEAREST TIRE SERVICE COMPANY AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT IT WAS A COMPUTER GLITCH. BIG STAR FORD REINSTALL THE PCM SOFTWARE AT THE COST OF MY DEDUCTIBLE. NHTSA, WE 2.0L OWNERS NEED YOUR HELP! PLEASE INVESTIGATE AND INCLUDE 2.0L TO THE EXISTING PROGRAM 19B37. I PERSONALLY HAVE EVIDENCE TO PROVE THAT AN INTERNAL COOLANT LEAK CAUSED MY ENGINE TO LOCK. A COOLANT PRESSURE TEST WILL ALSO REVEAL THE COOLANT LEAK IS INTERNAL. PLEASE HELP GET 2.0L INCLUDED IN THE CURRENT RECALL PROGRAM 19B37. *TR
NOTHING YET HAPPENED, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP A DAY AFTER I BOUGHT IT BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY CALLED A 'GHOST' CHECK ENGINE LIGHT THAT WOULD POP ON FOR A FEW SECONDS AND THEN WENT AWAY. I ALSO REALIZED THE CAR IS NEEDING A FREQUENT REFILL FOR COOLANT.

THE CONTACT CALLED SONS FORD AUBURN (2305 S COLLEGE ST, AUBURN, AL 36832, (334) 246-0766) AND INFORMED THE DEALER OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT REFERENCED THE FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V167000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE 35,090.
STEERING WHEEL IS LOOSE. THIS IS MORE MOVEMENT THAN VIBRATING. IT IS LOOSE WHETHER CAR IS MOVING OR STILL. *TR
I PURCHASED THE CAR ON OCTOBER 21ST OF 2019. I HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH THIS CAR BASICALLY SENSE PURCHASING IT. I BOUGHT THE CAR WITH 54,000 MILES. I WAS UP TO ABOUT 74,000 WITH THE NEED TO REPLACE A MOTOR. I DID SO, BEFORE I REPLACED THE MOTOR THE BATTERY LIGHT WAS ON. I CHANGED THE ALTERNATOR BELIEVING THAT WOULD BE THE ISSUE, I ALSO REPLACED THE BELT WITH IT THINKING I MIGHT AS WELL. STILL BATTERY LIGHT WAS ON. SO I EVEN WENT AND CHANGED THE BATTERY AND STILL A BATTERY LIGHT. I HAVE DUMPED NOTHING BUT MONEY INTO THIS CAR SENSE PURCHASING IT. I HAVE BEEN READING NOTHING BUT ISSUES WITH THESE 2017 FORD FUSIONS ANS BELIEVE FORD NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS BECAUSE SO MANY OTHERS ARE EXPERIENCING THESE ISSUES AND NOW I BELIEVE THE ECM IS GOING TO BE REPLACED. I BOUGHT THIS CAR THINKING A NEW CAR WOULD BE A GOOD INVESTMENT FOR MY FAMILY AND TO GO BACK AND FOURTH TO WORK WHICH HAS BEEN NOT THE CASE. I HAVE HAD OLD WAR HORSE TRUCKS WITH OVER 200K MILES RUN AND DRIVE BUT KNEW THEY WOULD NEED TO UPGRADED TO A NEWER FAMILY CAR. I REALLY DO NOT THINK FORD IS TAKING ACCOUNT FOR THE REAL ISSUES THEY ARE HAVING WITH THEIR NEW VEHICLES THEY ARE SELLING TO THE PUBLIC WHO ARE TRYING TO MAKE A LIVING AND WITH CONSTANT ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS THAT JUST ISN'T RIGHT. BASIC MAINTENANCE IS UNDERSTANDABLE BUT TO HAVE ALL OF THESE ISSUES JUST SEEMS UNACCEPTABLE.
JUNE 1ST 2020 WHILE DRIVING 55MPH ON A HOT DAY WINDOWS DOWN STEREO BLASTING SUDDENLY THE SPEAKERS SCREECH A DEFENING SOUND AND THEN NOTHING .SCREEN DISPLAYS AUDIO OFF AND WON'T TURN ON. NO MUSIC AND THE PART THAT'S DANGEROUS NO GPS PROMPTS (I GET LOST EASILY) THE NEXT DAY ITS COOLER AND IT WORKS AGAIN. OCTOBER 13TH 2020 THE RADIO DISPLAYS AUDIO OFF AND AND IS STILL OFF AS I WRITE THIS COMPLAINT ON A COOL OCTOBER DAY. THIS CAR IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND NOW BASICALLY WORTHLESS WITH OUT A FUNCTIONAL AUDIO SYSTEM. I CANT AFFORD TO TAKE IT TO THE DEALER TO EVEN TRY TO FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM LAST TIME I WENT FOR A SIMPLE SOFTWARE UPDATE TO ADDRESS ANOTHER PROBLEM WITH THE RADIO IT COST $80.
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the headlights became dim. The sunroof, Auto Start/Stop feature and traction control became inoperable. The contact stated that the check engine and traction control warning lights were illuminated. Additionally, coolant was leaking from the vehicle. The contact was able to add additional coolant to the vehicle. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 72,000.
MY WIFE WAS AT A SHOPPING CENTER. BACKED OUT OF THE PARKING SPOT, STOPPED, THEN TURNED THE SHIFTER TO DRIVE. SHIFT FAULT POPPED UP AND THE WRENCH SYMBOL. DRIVE WAS LIT ON THE SHIFTER KNOB BUT THE CAR WOULDN'T SHIFT OUT OF REVERSE. SHE CYCLED THE IGNITION A COUPLE TIMES AND IT FINALLY WENT INTO PARK AND WOULD SHIFT NORMALLY. *TR
DIFFICULT TO START AFTER REFUELING (UNAFFECTED BY AMOUNT OF FUEL INSIDE TANK); INTERMITTENTLY GRUNTING/VIBRATION SOUNDS COMING FROM FUEL TANK AT RANDOM INTERVALS. HAPPENS WHILE PARKED AND WHILE IN MOTION. CAR HAS ALSO HAD ELECTRICAL-TYPE HUMMING SOUND COMING FROM GEAR KNOB AND DASH SINCE I BOUGHT IT WITH 36K MILES ON IT. *TR
The contact owns a 2017 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while shifting into reverse, the gear shifter inadvertently shifted into park(P). The contact also stated the gear shifter was seizing continuously. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and the vehicle operated as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the gear shifter. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V413000 (Power Train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 89,000.

THE CONTACT STATED SHE PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND AT THAT TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SMOKE ENTERED THE VEHICLE FROM THE AIR VENTS. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO CROSSROADS FORD OF INDIAN TRAIL (88 DALE JARRETT BLVD, MONROE, NC 28110) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A HEATING CORE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER FOR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,246.
THE AIRBAG SIGN KEEPS ON WITHOUT ANY REASON. I'VE SEEN THERE IS RECALL FOR AIRBAG (TAKATA) ISSUE. 2012-2016. MY CAR IS MANUFACTURED IN 2016 AND REGISTERED IN 2017. THEY SAID ITS 2017 MODEL.
TRIED TO START CAR. BATTERY LIGHT, ENGINE LIGHT AND POWER TRAIN LIGHT CAME ON. NEVER STARTED. TURNED THE CAR COMPLETELY OFF. WAITED A COUPLE MINS AND TRIED AGAIN. NEVER STARTED AND THIS TIME ALL LIGHTS CAME ON. MADE A TICKING SOUND. DIDN'T TURN OVER EITHER TIME TRYING TO START. WENT TO THE STORE EARLIER IN THE DAY THOUGH, AND EVERYTHING WAS FINE.
EVEN WHEN TURNING ALL SYSTEMS OFF WHEN SHUTTING THE CAR OFF THE BATTERY WILL DRAIN OVERNIGHT AND WILL NEED TO BE JUMPSTARTED
CAR STALLED AFTER ACCELERATING MODERATELY HARD INTO TRAFFIC FROM A STOP AND THEN QUICKLY TURNING LEFT INTO PARKING LOT.

THE CONTACT CALLED FAMILY FORD (170 YORK RD, CARLISLE, PA 17013, (717) 249-2215) HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED HOWEVER NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE, AND THERE IS A BUMP RIGHT TIRE SEEMS TO SHAKE, WHEN TURNING TO THE RIGHT I HEAR A SCRAPE. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS ON AND ON PARKING, A RATTLING NOISE GOES OFF.

UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT LINKED HER FAILURE TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V427000 (POWER TRAIN) HOWEVER, HER VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. I BOUGHT MY FORD FUSION USED FROM A DEALERSHIP. I DROVE THE CAR HOME AND PARKED IT IN MY GARAGE. THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO LEAVE AND MY BATTERY WAS DEAD. I THOUGHT MAYBE SOMEHOW I LEFT SOMETHING ON TO I JUMPED IT AND WENT ON. 4 DAYS AFTER I WENT TO A FRIENDS HOUSE AND I DIDN'T DRIVE MY CAR FOR 2 DAYS AND WENT TO LEAVE AND IT WAS DEAD AGAIN WHICH LEADS ME TO BELIEVE THE IS A FAULT OR SOMETHING IS NOT TURNING OFF LIKE IT SHOULD WHEN THE CAR IS SHUT OFF. I HAVE READ THAT OTHERS HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM.

UPON STARTING THE CAR, THE CAR WAS WITHOUT POWER STEERING AND THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE DASH 'STEERING ASSIST FAULT, SERVICE REQUIRED.' THE CAR WAS IN A STATIONARY POSITION WHEN THIS OCCURRED. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN, AS IF THIS WOULD HAVE OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING, AN ACCIDENT COULD HAVE HAPPENED AND THE OPERATOR, PASSENGER AND/OR OTHER PERSONS ON THE ROAD COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED, OR WORSE. THE CAR WAS REPAIRED AT A AUTO REPAIR SHOP AND THE RESULT OF THIS ISSUE WAS THAT THE STEERING GEAR, RACK AND PINION, NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AS IT WAS FAULTY, AND THE CAR NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE TOTAL FOR THIS REPAIR WAS $2,330.88 AND WE WERE INFORMED THIS WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. *TR
COOLANT LEAKING INTO ENGINE. ENTIRE ENGINE WILL HAVE TO BE REPLACED.
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEEPS COMING ON SAYING THAT ITS ENGINE MISFIRE IN CYLINDER 2. . MY MECHANIC REPLACED THE SPARK PLUG IT HAPPENED AGAIN, WE REPLACED THE COIL AND IT DID IT AGAIN. FINALLY THEY TOLD ME THAT THE COOLANT WAS LEAKING INTO THE CYLINDER WHICH IS CAUSING A MISFIRE AND THEREFORE HAS ALSO CRACKED THE BLOCK ON THE ENGINE. I GET HOME AND THERE IS A NOTICE FROM FORD. RECALL 19B37 TO REPROGRAM THIS ISSUE. I SCHEDULED THE UPDATE TO BE DONE AND FORD TELLS ME I NEED A NEW ENGINE NOW. I AM WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM FORD AS TO HOW THEY WILL HELP, SEEING AS THOUGH I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR FROM THEIR DEALERSHIP LESS THAN A YER AGO BUT HAVE NO WARRANTY. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE ME A DIAGNOSTIC FEE AS WELL FOR THIS ISSUE WHICH I REFUSED TO PAY SINCE IT IS PART OF THE RECALL.
ENGINE OVERHEATED AND STARTED ON FIRE COMPLETELY DESTROYED . VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN ANY ACCIDENT AND WAS RECENTLY 22 DAYS PRIOR COMPLETELY CHECKED OUT BY THE DEALERSHIP FOR A ENGINE COOLANT RECALL.

I WENT TO MY CAR AFTER WORK AND ATTEMPTED TO START IT BUT A SHIFT SYSTEM FAULT ERROR OCCURRED AND THE CAR BEGAN PUTTING THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ON WHEN I TRIED TO SHIFT TO PARK. IT WOULD SAY "SHIFT TO PARK" EVEN WHEN MY KNOB SHOWED THAT THE GEAR WAS IN PARK. IT WOULD ALSO ROTATE THE KNOB BACK TO P EVERY NOW AND THEN WHEN YOU ATTEMPT TO SHIFT INTO A DIFFERENT GEAR.
ENGINE CODE SURFACED AND TOLD ME I HAD A MISFIRE. I TOOK IT TO THE SHOP AND WAS TOLD THAT COOLANT HAD LEAKED INTO THE CYLINDER AND I WOULD HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE ENGINE AND WOULD COST ME $9,300. I CALLED FORD AND EVEN THOUGH THERE ARE RECALLS ON SIMILAR VEHICLES WITH SIMILAR ISSUES, THERE IS NOT A RECALL ON THIS PARTICULAR VEHICLE.

A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 43,000.
