Windshield loose adhesion from paint separation from primer. The Glass windshield in my car had a small chip occur while driving at 40 mph.. about 60 seconds later a crack appeared about 18 inch long lengthwise across the windshield. after being parked will ordering a new windshield the crack grew to 90 percent the horizontal width of the windshield. Later while having the windshield removed for replacement by the owner New View glass in a cool indoor environment we examined the windshield adhesive and found that the paint was peeling off from the primer where the glass adhesive attaches to the car. The strength of the paint or clear coat bond to the primer or car metal is not sufficient to hold in the glass as a structural part of the car body. I am a car dealer so have more windshields replaced that a normal person. It is very unusual to see this condition. I am aware that some 2021 Mustang mach e had a recall for this condition but this VIN was not included in that recall. Perhaps it should have been. The glue just peels off with the clear or paint
The contact owns a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach E. The contact stated the warning message illuminated on the instrument panel indicating "The door Fault". The dealer was contacted but was not available to schedule an appointment. The contact stated while attempting to lock the passenger side door, the door would not lock, and he attempted to lock the door several times before he was able to lock the vehicle. The contact opened the passenger’s side window when smoke started coming from the window. The contact turned off the vehicle and the smoke stopped. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, contact was waiting on the diagnosis. The manufacturer was contacted, and they stated they will contact him back. The failure mileage was 6,326.
The side mirrors in my vehicle are motorized and set to automatically fold in when I lock the car after getting out. They rarely do this (not the issue, and they’re fine mechanically). When I get back in and start the vehicle they are supposed to automatically unfold. 1/3 to 1/2 the time they do not. More than once I have started driving in a parking lot to realize I have no side view mirrors. I have to stop and press the “fold/unfold” button to make them open. With the mirrors closed I am unable to see out them to check blind spots or look for pedestrians or other cars. I have learned to be very careful to check if the mirrors failed to unfold because of this. I have asked my dealer to look at this at least twice (most recently Monday). They can never reproduce it, both auto-fold and unfold work for them perfectly from what they say. That’s quite different from my experience. There are no errors or messages anywhere about this. My car has the most recent software (except possibly 22S41), none of the major or minor updates it has received have ever made a difference.
Ford Dealers are refusing to complete recalls 21V712 and 21V711. To quote an e-mail from O'Meara Ford in the Denver metro area that summarizes my conversations with every other dealership, "I’ve been informed that we will no longer complete the glass recalls on MACH E vehicles. Long story short Ford does not reimburse us enough money to cover these Recalls with our labor and sublet invoices, this may be why other Ford dealers are refusing to do the recalls." Ford is not guaranteeing reimbursement for the new roofs and windshields that all the dealerships need to order before doing the work because there is over a 50% chance they will break upon removal. Ford tells me they can do absolutely nothing (customer service case no. CAS-37570083-G3K5V9) and I told them they could pay more and they said they can't. Meanwhile NHTSA is also doing nothing as this is my second complaint in 2-3 months with nothing being done. I've now had four cancelled appointments from three different dealerships in the Denver Metro area.
There are two safety recalls for many Mach-Es including mine for the windshield and glass roof. Many owners are finding that their Ford dealer is refusing to do the recall work. I first attempted to get mine done in November 2021. My dealer says they still can't do the work. I have called 5 other dealers in the Denver area and I finally got on the waitlist for one dealer. The other dealers say they are unable to do the recall. I have talked to owners in other parts of the country that are experiencing the same refusal by their dealer.

Per your instructions I'm filling this complaint due to Ford refusing to perform recall 21S42/21V712 Issued on 09-14-2021. I have opened multiple complaints with Ford Corp regarding their dealerships refusal to perform this safety recall in which the roof of my vehicle can fly off during operation. For weeks now I've been trying to get Ford to provide me with a dealership that would perform the recall as I have been refused by 5 local dealerships. Ford tells me "we can't force the dealership to do anything" and have refused to find a dealership that will do this recall and contact me. I have been attempting to get this recall done on and off for 3 years now.
