I HAVE A 2001 FORD MUSTANG. ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO, I NOTICED A SMALL AREA THAT THE CLEARCOAT WAS PEELING. NOW IT IS COMING OFF IN SHEETS AND MY PAINT HAS FADED THAT IS LOOKS LIKE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT COLOR. I'VE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON OTHER MESSAGE BOARDS FROM OTHERS HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. I EVEN FOUND A SERVICE BULLETIN THAT FORD ISSUED INSTRUCTING PAINT VENDORS HOW TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM. I WOULD THINK THAT IF THAT MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS ISSUE THAT FORD HAD TO ISSUE A BULLETIN OF THIS SORT, THAT THERE WOULD BE RECALL AND FORD WOULD BE FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE. IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO. NOW, I HAVE TO PAY FOR A PAINT JOB THROUGH NO FAULT OF MY OWN. *TR
THE CLEAR COAT IS BUBBLING AND PEELING ON THE FRONT RIGHT FENDER, ON TOP. *TR
REAR SPOILER CRACKING ALONG SEAMS. *NM
STOPPING FOR RED LIGHT AND BRAKES FAILED, BRAKE PAD TO FLOOR NO INJURIES. OUR MECHANIC DIAGNOSED BRAKE LINE WAS SEVERED FROM REAR RIGHT UPPER CONTROL ARM WELD FAILURE CAUSED BRACKET TO BREAK, CUTTING BREAK LINE. TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP WHERE PURCHASED 2 MONTHS EARLIER. AFTER DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS FAULT OF DRIVER (SAID WARRANTY WOULD NOT COVER) WE INVESTIGATED THIS MATTER AND FOUND 2 OTHER REPORTS ON NHTSA, THEN DEALERSHIP AGREED TO FIX PROBLEM. WE ARE VERY DISSATIFIED WITH THE HANDLING OF THIS SERIOUS PROBLEM FROM DEALERSHIP. *AK
CONSTANT VIBRATION IN THE DASH AREA. HAVE HAD ALL 4 AIR VENTS REPLACED TWICE AND THE ENTIRE CENTER CONSOLE REPLACED DO TO RADDLING NOISES. TO THIS DATE MY DASH STILL RATTLES IN THE VENT AREAS.*AK
ONE OF THE FOUR BOLTS ON THE DRIVER SIDE, WHICH HELD THE DOOR TO THE HINGES FELL OUT OF THE DOOR. *MR *TS. THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR STARTED TO RATTLE. THE CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED THE IF THE VEHICLE WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT SOMEONE MAY BE INJURED BECAUSE OF THE DEFECT WITH THE BOLT FALLING OUT. *JB
RIGHT REAR BRACKET WHICH IS WELDED TO FLOOR PAN AND CONNECTS REAR AXLE HAS HAD A WELD FAIL AND SUBSEQUENTLY CRACKED THE BRACKET. FORD WAITING FOR FACTORY SERVICE REP TO VISIT TO DETERMINE FAILURE CAUSE AND REPAIR PROCESS. CAR MAY BE UNAVAILABLE FOR OVER A WEEK. *NLM
THE VEHICLE'S HOOD WAS TWO SMALL WHICH CAUSED THE ACCELERATOR CABLE TO RUB AGAINST IT. THE HOOD WAS REPLACED BUT PROBLEM STILL EXIST. *NLM
