TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH THE VEHICLE SURGED FORWARD RESULTING IN A CRASH. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND WITHIN A FEW DAYS THE DRIVER WAS TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL FOR INJURIES THAT WERE SUSTAINED DURING THE CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT REPAIR SHOP WHERE IT WAS NOT EXAMINED TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 50,000.
ON 24 AUGUST MY FRONT RIGHT TIRE BLEW OUT AS IF IT WERE A RETREAD (I STILL HAVE THE TIRE. IT'S NOT A RETREAD, IT JUST CAME APART LIKE ONE. THE CAR JUST PASSED A SAFETY INSPECTION AT WOODBRIDGE VA MALLOY LINCOLN ON 31 JULY. I BOUGHT THE CAR ON 5 AUGUST AND THE TIRE BLEW OUT ON 24 AUGUST. THANK GOD I WAS DRIVING SLOWLY IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA AND STOPPED RIGHT AWAY, BECAUSE I COULD HAVE EASILY BEEN KILLED ALONG WITH OTHERS IF I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY. PIRELLI TIRES HAVE A RECALL ON SOME OF THEIR OTHER STYLE TIRES FOR THIS EXACT SAME PROBLEM. ALTHOUGH MY TIRE SIZE 255/35R20 DOES NOT FALL UNDER THE RECALL AT THIS TIME, THEY DEFINITELY POSE A 'LOSS OF LIFE' SAFETY ISSUE, WHICH FORCED ME TO REPLACE ALL 4 TIRES AT A COST OF $807.63. I CALLED PIRELLI TYRE NORTH AMERICA AT 1-800-747-3554 ON 30 SEPTEMBER AT 1PM EST. I EXPLAINED MY ISSUE WITH THE OPERATOR, AND THEN SHE TRANSFERRED TO A PHONE THAT NOBODY ANSWERED. I WAS LEFT ON HOLD FOR WELL OVER 15 MINUTES UNTIL I FINALLY HUNG UP. THE PHONE DIDN'T EVEN HAVE ANY KIND OF TONES WHATSOEVER. IT WAS AS IF IT DIDN'T EXIST, BUT I COULD SEE I STILL HAD A CONNECTION. THIS IS A 2008 FORD MUSTANG MARK III CAR. THE TIRES WERE PART OF THE MARK III PACKAGE. *TR
MY DRIVING AND PASSENGER SIDE LEAKS AND FLUIDS AND MY DRIVING DOOR ALSO GETS WATER INSIDE .... MY CAR ISN'T CRASHED FROM ANY OF THOSE SIDE OR HASN'T BEEN CRASHED. *TR
I GOT A LETTER IN JULY 2015 THAT I NEED TO HAVE MY AIRBAG FIXED. I HAVE CALL FORD IN ALTOONA PA AND THEY KEEP TELLING ME THEY DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS TO FIX IT BUT THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT IF MY AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON THEY WILL FIX IT RIGHT NOW. I JUST WANT THE PROBLEM FIXED. I DRIVE THIS CAR EVERYDAY IT NEEDS FIXED NOW.
2 TIRES WITH SIDEWALL STRESS ISSUES IN A PERIOD OF 10 MONTHS 12,000 MILES I SPOKE TO THE TIRE COMPANY WHO ADVISED ME THAT I "PROBABLY HIT A CURB OR POT HOLE WHICH CAUSED A KNOT ON THE SIDE OF THE TIRE", WHICH DID NOT HAPPEN. I HAD RAPID DEFLATION WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD ON THE FIRST INCIDENT. GOOD LUCK HAD THE TIRE ON THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND LOSE OF CONTROL WAS MINIMAL. THE SECOND, I WAS ABLE TO DETECT EARLY. I HAD TO DISPOSE OF THE FIRST TIRE WHEN I HAD IT REPLACED. I FELT THIS MAY HAVE BEEN "A JUST BY CHANCE" INCIDENT, HOWEVER WHEN THIS OCCURRED TO THE SECOND TIRE, I NOW FEEL OTHERWISE. JUST WANTED TO KNOW IF THIS HAD BEEN REPORTED IN THIS TIRE LINE YET. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD MUSTANG. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AT RELATIVELY LOW, UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AS IT PROCEEDED TO JUMP A CONCRETE CURB AND CRASHED THROUGH A ROW OF BUSHES. THE PASSENGER REACHED OVER AND SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO PARK. THE UNINTENDED ACCELERATION ENDED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REVERSE THE VEHICLE AND PARK WITHOUT FURTHER INCIDENT. ON A SEPARATE OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS AND ATTEMPTING TO BRAKE, THE VEHICLE ABNORMALLY ACCELERATED A SECOND TIME. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO BRAKE BUT TO NO AVAIL. THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE SIDE OF A BUILDING. THE FRONT AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. THE CONTACT SUFFERED MINOR UNKNOWN INJURIES AND THE POLICE WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY HER INSURANCE COMPANY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE VIA EMAIL. SHE HAD NOT YET RECEIVED A RESPONSE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 19,700.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, WATER LEAKED ONTO THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,000.
GAS PEDAL WAS STUCK ON HIGHWAY AND IT TOOK A COUPLE MILES TO STOP. HAD CAR TOWED BACK TO DEALERSHIP. *TR
MY ACCIDENT HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT. WHEN CAREFULLY BACKING OUT OF MY PARKING SPOT, MY CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED. I TRIED UNSUCCESSFULLY TO STOP THE CAR BY HITTING THE BRAKES. MY CAR KEPT ACCELERATING. IT CLIPPED ANOTHER PARKED VEHICLE. MY CAR CAME FINALLY TO A STOP WHEN IT HIT A WATER HYDRANT/ SPRINKLER SYSTEM. *TW
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING 45-55 MPH HE STRUCK A WET SPOT ON THE ROAD, AND THEN CRASHED INTO THE GUARD RAIL WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO ROLL OVER THREE TIMES. NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED. HE SUFFERED MINOR INJURIES TO HIS HEAD, NECK, AND BACK. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALERSHIP. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 22000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD MUSTANG GT. WHILE DRIVING BETWEEN 30-35 MPH THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARRANT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 15,000. THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS A MASSIVE LEVEL OF IMPACT. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A COLLISION CENTER AND THE ESTIMATED REPAIR COST WAS $14,000.00. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH ON A WET AND LIGHTLY SAND COVERED ROAD SURFACE, THE VEHICLE SPUN 360 DEGREES. THE TIRE TRACTION CONTROL DEVICE FAILED TO ENGAGE AND THE VEHICLE CRASHED INTO THE GUARD RAIL. THE VEHICLE ENDED UP FACING WEST BOUND ON AN EAST BOUND LANE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY, BUT THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE SUSTAINED SEVERE FRONTAL DAMAGE, AND THERE WAS ALSO DAMAGE TO THE FRONT PASSENGER DOOR AND BODY FRAME. THE POLICE WERE CALLED TO THE SCENE. RECENTLY, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE AUTOMATIC SHOULDER BELT RETRACTOR SYSTEM FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY INOPERATIVE AND HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 15,500.
I WAS DRIVING DOWN A RAMP TO A HIGHWAY (ROUTE 21 IN CLIFTON, NJ) AT APPROX. 30MPH AND WENT TO ACCELERATE TP THE MIDDLE LANE ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROX. 45MPH WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY TOOK OFF. I FELT LIKE SOMEONE WAS HOLDING THE GAS PEDAL DOWN AND THE ONLY WAY I COULD GET SOME SORT OF CONTROL WAS TO DROP THE GEARS TO 3RD GEAR (I HAVE AN AUTOMATIC MUSTANG 2008 CONVERTIBLE WITH 500 MILES ON IT). I ALSO HELD THE BRAKE DOWN AND PUT THE FLASHERS ON TO ALERT OTHER DRIVERS THAT I WAS HAVING A PROBLEM. I DROVE FOR 1/4 OF A MILE LIKE THAT BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO GAIN CONTROL IN A TURN. IT WAS ONLY THEN THAT I FELT THE CAR TO BE REALLY IN THIRD GEAR. I SHIFTED BACK TO DRIVE AND MADE IT HOME. THIS IS THE FIRST OCCURRENCE THAT I'VE HAD AND FEEL LUCKY TO NOT HAVE HIT ANYBODY ON THAT WILD RIDE. I CALLED A LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP AND WILL TAKE IT IN FOR SERVICE. I DO NOT TRUST THIS CAR TO DRIVE AT THIS POINT. *TR
BOUGHT CAR NEW. DURING A ROUTINE MAINTENANCE SERVICE, I ASKED THE DEALER TO ADJUST THE CLUTCH. DEALER STATED THAT CLUTCH IS SELF-ADJUSTING, AND CHARGED $50 TO PERFORM SERVICE. HOWEVER, DEALER STATED THAT CLUTCH DISC IS SEVERELY WORN AND HAS ABOUT 6000 MILES OF SERVICE LIFE LEFT. I ASKED DEALER TO REPLACE WHILE STILL UNDER LESS THAN 12,000 MILE OR ONE YEAR WARRANTY. DEALER REFUSED. I CONTACTED FORD CUSTOMER RELATIONS AND THEY SAID THEY HAVE RECEIVED COMPLAINTS, BUT HAVE NOT AND WILL NOT REPLACE. I SENT LETTER TO FORD CEO AND RECEIVED A PHONE CALL FROM AN EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT TO CEO THAT SAID THAT THEY UNDERSTOOD MY CONCERN BUT STILL WOULD NOT REPLACE. I AM A 35+ YEAR EXPERIENCED MANUAL TRANSMISSION USER AND AM THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS DRIVEN THE CAR, AND DO NOT ABUSE THE CAR. THIS WILL BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN THE CLUTCH FAILS BECAUSE IT WILL MOST LIKELY HAPPEN ON PUBLIC HIGHWAYS. CAR IS CURRENTLY AT 12000 MILES AND I AM CONCERNED. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION, THE VEHICLE'S GEAR FAILED AND WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO ANY OF THE FIVE GEARS. THE VEHICLE HAD TO BE TURNED OFF. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, THE CONTACT HAD TO PLACE THE VEHICLE INTO SECOND GEAR. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT INTO ANY OTHER GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE SLADE AND MASTER CYLINDER, CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE, GEAR SHIFTER, AND THE SHIFTER FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT FAILED AGAIN ONE MONTH LATER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE PILOT BEARING FAILED. THE CLUTCH SLADE CYLINDER AND MASTER CYLINDER WERE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED ONE MONTH LATER AT AN INTERSECTION. THE CONTACT HAD TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE. WHEN IT WAS RESTARTED, THE CONTACT HAD TO DRIVE IN SECOND GEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THERE WERE LOOSE BOLTS IN THE PRESSURE PLATE TO THE FLY WHEEL. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT AN ENGINEER WOULD COME OUT AND INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THE ENGINEER DETERMINED THAT THE SIX TORQUE TO YIELD BOLTS FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR REPAIR, BUT THE FAILURE STILL PERSISTS. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY NOT BEING DRIVEN AND IS AT THE DEALER FOR REPAIR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,695 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 15,150.
ON 1/11/2009 AT 8:00 PM I WAS HEADING HOME FROM WORK, WHEN A FORD F-250 LOST CONTROL AND CRASHED INTO THE DRIVERS' SIDE DOOR. THERE WAS SUCH FORCE IN THE CRASH THAT THE SIDE IMPACT AIRBAG DID NOT DEPLOY AS REQUIRED TO DO SO. I SUSTAINED INJURIES WHICH CONSISTED OF LEG CONTUSIONS, 3 BROKEN RIBS,NECK, AND BACK INJURIES. MY VEHICLE WHICH WAS A 2008 FORD MUSTANG GT PREMIUM SUSTAINED $17,700.00 WORTH OF DAMAGE AND WAS DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. *TR
SINCE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW, MANUAL TRANSMISSION WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO SHIFT FROM 2-3 GEAR (ESPECIALLY WHEN COLD). SOMETIMES GEARS WOULD GRIND, OR WOULD NOT ENGAGE AT ALL. SHIFTS WOULD OFTEN TAKE ABOUT 2-3 SECONDS TO ENGAGE, WITH CAR LOSING SPEED DURING THIS TIME. AT 5800 MILES, TRANSMISSION REQUIRED THE SYNCHRONIZERS TO BE REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. CURRENTLY CAR HAS 22,000 MILES. AT TIMES, GEARS WOULD NOT ENGAGE SMOOTHLY FROM 2-3 SHIFT (WHEN TRANSMISSION HOT OR COLD), AND REQUIRES 2-3 SECONDS FOR GEARS TO ENGAGE. THIS OCCURS OCCASIONALLY, WITHOUT ANY FOREWARNING. *TR
2008 MUSTANG GT 4.6L, SHAKER 500 RADIO DEFECT, FUEL SENSOR DEFECT- VEHICLE IS A DAILY DRIVER, PARKED IT FOR 4 DAYS OVER HOLIDAY, BATTERY DEAD. DETERMINATION FROM FORD DEALER SERVICE WAS SHAKER 500 6 DISC CHANGER WAS CYCLING DISCS WITH THE ENGINE AND IGNITION TURNED OFF. DEAD BATTERY THEN PREVENTS PASSENGER FROM ENTERING THE VEHICLE DUE TO LOWERING OF GLASS WHEN DOOR LATCH RELEASES. AFTER CHARGING OF BATTERY ON REPAIR MODE ON TRICKLE CHARGE, STARTED AND "0 MILES TO E" READ ON MESSAGE EVEN AFTER RESET AND SELF DIAGNOSTICS. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD MUSTANG. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE REAR AXLE SHIFTED TO THE DRIVER'S SIDE WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE EXCESSIVELY SHIFTED TO ONE DIRECTION WHENEVER TRAVELING ON SNOW OR ICE COVERED ROAD CONDITIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION AND THEY STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING PROPERLY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 600.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 FORD MUSTANG GT. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WITHIN THE VEHICLE FAILED AND THE ODOMETER WAS THREE MILES OFF. THE DEALER INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND ADVISED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND THEY OFFERED PARTIAL ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.
DRIVING ON INTERSTATE HIGHWAY AT 70 MPH IN VERY HIGH CROSSWIND CONDITIONS WHEN THE HOOD BEGAN TO VIBRATE WILDLY AND THE LATCH RELEASED. SECONDARY LATCH CAUGHT THE HOOD BEFORE IT COMPLETELY FLEW UP. I SLAMMED THE HOOD SHUT AND WAS ABLE TO COMPLETE MY TRIP BUT THE HIGH WINDS STILL MADE THE HOOD SHAKE AND VIBRATE. TODAY THERE IS NO WIND AND I DROVE THE CAR AT INTERSTATE SPEEDS WITH NO VIBRATION AT ALL. *TR
I BROUGHT THE 2008 MUSTANG IN OCT21 2008 AND IT HAS TICKED SINCE I CALLED HARR FORD AND I TRIED TO TALK TO THE SALES PERSON HARR FORD WENT OUT OF BUSINESS I CALLED FORD AND TALKED TO A VARIETY OF CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE I HAVE BROUGHT IT TWO DEALERS THE SALES MANAGER FROM DRUM HILL FORD WAS THE FIRST TO HEAR THE NOISE HE FELT IT HAD A PROBLEM BUT THE PEOPLE FROM FORD FELT HE WAS NOT QUALIFIED THE OTHER PEOPLE I HEARD TOLD ME IT IS NORMAL TO TICK LIKE THAT I HAVE DRIVEN SEVERAL MUSTANGS I WENT TO ACTION FORD POSING AS A BUYER AND FOUND A 2008 MUSTANG THAT WE WERE THE FIRST ONES TO START IT UP IT DOES NOT TICK I WENT ONLINE TO THE MUSTANG FORUMS AND THEY SAY IT COULD BE A BEARING ISSUE FORD MUST KNOW ABOUT THIS ISSUE. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY FORD MUSTANG GT PREMIUM WITH THE BULLITT PACKAGE AT HIGHWAY SPEED THE HOOD SUDDENLY OPENED AND WAS CAUGHT BY THE SAFETY LATCH. I REPORTED THIS INCIDENT TO JARRETT-GORDON FORD WINTER HAVEN AND THEY ADJUSTED THE HOOD LATCH. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS DID NOT CORRECT THE PROBLEM AND I HAD ANOTHER OCCURRENCE OF THE HOOD OPENING AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN WHICH THE SAFETY LATCH PREVENTED A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS ACCIDENT. I AGAIN TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE SAME DEALER - JARRETT-GORDON FORD WINTER HAVEN AND THIS TIME THEY REPLACED THE HOOD LATCH MECHANISM. THIS CORRECTED THE PROBLEM AND NO FURTHER INCIDENTS OCCURRED.
1. ON SEPTEMBER 1ST, MY TIRE PRESSURE ON MY CAR SUDDENLY WENT DOWN AND I BLEW OUT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE TIRE. I TOOK IT IN TO THE FORD DEALER THE NEXT DAY AND THEY REPAIRED THE TIRE VALVE STEM FREE OF CHARGE BECAUSE THEY SAID IT WAS DEFECTIVE. TODAY (09/30/08) I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND MY BACK PASSENGER TIRE WENT FLAT. I TOOK IT IN TO THE FORD DEALER AFTER I CHECKED THE VALVE STEM AND SAW THAT IT WAS CRACKED ALL AROUND THE BASE. I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE PREVIOUS EVENT AND TOLD THEM I WAS SURE IT WAS THE VALVE STEM. THEY CALLED ME BACK AND SAID THAT THERE WAS NO WAY THEY COULD KNOW BECAUSE I HAD RUN THE TIRE WHILE IT WAS FLAT AND IT WOULD NOT BE WARRANTED. THEY WOULD NOT EVEN CHECK THE VALVE FOR ME. THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT 3 DAYS TO GET THE TIRE IN STOCK AND I TOLD THEM I HAVE TO COMMUTE TO WORK AND I COULD NOT DRIVE ON A DOUGHNUT FOR 3 DAYS. THEY SENT ME TO A TIRE DEALER IN TOWN THAT WOULD HAVE THAT SIZE (BUT NOT THE SAME BRAND) TIRE IN STOCK. I WENT THERE AND THEY FIXED IT BUT IT COST ME $172 AND THEY SHOWED ME MY OTHER 2 DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE VALVE STEMS WERE CRACKED AND THE BACK DRIVER'S SIDE VALVE STEM WAS ABOUT TO COME OFF. NOW I HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE FORD DEALER AND HOPE THEY REPLACE THEM WITHOUT A FIGHT. 2. THIS HAS OCCURRED 2 TIMES NOW WITH ANOTHER 2 GUARANTEED IF I DO NOT TAKE ACTION NOW. 3. THE FIRST TIRE FORD REPLACED ONLY THE VALVE STEM (AND THEY PUT ONE THAT WAS WAY TOO LONG ON MY TIRE SO NOW IT IS FIXED BUT IT STICKS OUT WHICH I AM SURE IS ANOTHER HAZARD). ON THE EVENING OF JULY 22ND THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW MADE A SHARP METAL AGAINST GLASS SOUND AS THE WINDOW RETRACTED INTO THE DOOR. WHEN THE GLASS MOVED BACK INTO ITS NORMAL (UP) POSITION THE GLASS HAD A DEEP SCRATCH--LARGE ENOUGH TO FEEL WITH A NAIL. DEALERSHIP CLAIMS THE ISSUE IS DUE TO DIRT OR DEBRIS. OTHER FORUMS ON FORD MUSTANGS SUGGEST THE PROBLEM IS DUE TO THE HARD PLASTIC GASKET ON THE INNER SEAL OF THE WINDOW. PARKING CAR INTO PARKING BAY BETWEEN BUILDING SUPPORT AND OTHER CAR. WITH MY FOOT ON BRAKE AND AT A STOP I REACHED TO PLACE CAR IN PARK WHEN FOR NO REASON THE CAR ACCELERATED OVER A CONCRETE PARKING STOP, THROUGH A DITCH, OUT OF THE DITCH BEFORE STRIKING ANOTHER TRUCK HEAD ON IN THE PARKING AREA ACROSS THE DITCH. MY FOOT WAS ON THE BRAKE THE ENTIRE TIME AND I DID NOT TOUCH THE SHIFTER AT ALL! THE CAR COULD BE REVVING VERY HIGH AS IT MOVE FORWARD AND I PRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AS HARD AS I COULD TO NO AVAIL. PRELIMINARY DISCUSSIONS WITH DEALERSHIP HAVE INSINUATED THIS COULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED AND THEY SEEM TO BE RESISTING TO LOOK INTO THIS MECHANICAL MALFUNCTION. MY NIECE WAS DRIVING MY CAR ON 4/10/2009. SHE ATTEMPTED TO SLOW DOWN WHEN A CAR SLOWED TO A STOP ON THE FREEWAY. SHE SLOWLY PRESSED ON THE BRAKES AND THE CAR DID NOT SLOW DOWN. WE HAVE A 04 F-150,A 04 GRAN MARQUIS AND DROVE AN EXPLORER,AND A TAURUS WHILE HER CAR WAS IN THE SHOP AND NEVER HAD THE AIR BAG LIGHT TO COME ON. FORD SAID THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND FAULT WITH THE LIGHT, JUST THE PLACEMENT OF THE SENSOR BEING TO FAR TO THE FRONT OF THE SEAT.
